New words stand out
Every word you haven’t marked known sits on a pale bar. Mark one known and its bar goes, everywhere it comes up, so a language you’re learning is a transcript going quiet.
The translation underneath
Every line, the same size as the one above it, in English or 28 other languages. Check a sentence without stopping, or hide it and guess first.
The meaning it has here
Tap a word and the episode pauses. The card says what it means in this sentence, which is often not the first thing a dictionary would tell you: this “mañana” is the morning, not tomorrow. Two more sentences show it used the same way.
It keeps pace with the voice
Each word lights up as it’s said, so your eyes and your ears are on the same word, and the line you missed is still there to read.

What does it cost?

Your first week is free. After that LangTurbo is a subscription, monthly or yearly, at the price the App Store shows for your country. Cancel from your iPhone’s Settings at least a day before the week is up and you won’t be charged.

Which languages can I learn?

Podcasts in 100 languages: Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Arabic, and Welsh, Swahili, Tagalog and Catalan too. The translation under each line can be in English or 28 other languages.

Is it for beginners?

It’s for anybody who wants to understand real speech. The translation under every line lets you follow a show early on, and before your first episode you can tick off the common words you already know, fifty at a time, so they aren’t highlighted.
