سورة الأنعام – أحمد العجمي

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

1. الحمد لله الذي خلق السماوات والأرض وجعل الظلمات والنور ثم الذين كفروا بربهم يعدلون

1. Praise be to Allah who created the heavens and the earth and made the darkness and the light; then those who disbelieved in their Lord set up equals (to Him).

2. هو الذي خلقكم من طين ثم قضى أجلا وأجل مسمى عنده ثم أنتم تمترون

2. He is the One who created you from clay, then determined a term, and a specified term with Him. Yet you doubt.

3. وهو الله في السماوات وفي الأرض يعلم سركم وجهركم ويعلم ما تكسبون

3. He is God in the heavens and in the earth; He knows your secrets and what you reveal, and He knows what you earn.

4. وما تأتيهم من آية من آيات ربهم إلا كانوا عنها معرضين

4. And there comes to them no sign of the signs of their Lord, except that they turn away from it.

5. فقد كذبوا بالحق لما جاءهم فسوف يأتيهم أنباء ما كانوا به يستهزئون

5. Indeed, they lied against the truth when it came to them, so news of what they used to mock will surely come to them.

6. ألم يروا كم أهلكنا من قبلهم

"Have they not seen how many we have destroyed before them?"

7. من قرن مكناهم في الأرض ما لم نمكن لكم

7. We established them in the land as We did not establish you.

8. وأرسلنا السماء عليهم مدرارا وجعلنا الأنهار تجري من تحتهم

8. And We sent down the heaven upon them in continuous rain and made the rivers flow beneath them.

9. فأهلكناهم بذنوبهم وأنشأنا من بعدهم قرنا آخرين

9. So We destroyed them because of their sins and brought forth after them another generation.

10. ولو نزلنا عليك كتابا في قرطاس فلمسوه بأيديهم

"And if We had sent down to you a book on a sheet of paper, and they touched it with their hands."

11. لقال الذين كفروا إن هذا إلا سحر مبين

11. And those who disbelieved would say, "This is nothing but obvious magic."

12. وقالوا لولا أنزل عليه ملك ولو أنزلنا ملكا لقضي الأمر ثم لا ينظرون

12. And they said, "Why has a angel not been sent down to him?" If We had sent down an angel, the matter would have been decided, then they would not be given respite.

13. ولو جعلناه ملكا لجعلناه رجلا وللبسنا عليهم ما يلبسون

13. And if We had made him an angel, We would have certainly made him a man and confused them with what they are confused.

14. ولقد استهزئ برسل من قبلك فحاق بالذين سخروا منهم ما كانوا به يستهزئون

14. And certainly, messengers before you were mocked, but what they mocked surrounded those who mocked them.

15. قل سيروا في الأرض ثم انظروا إلى الأرض ونحن نحن نحن نحن نحن نحن نحن نحن نحن نحن نحن نحن نحن نحن نحن نحن نحن

15. Say, "Travel through the land and then observe how was the end of those before; We are certainly numerous!"

16. انظروا كيف كان عاقبة المكذبين

16. Look at how the outcome was for the disbelievers.

17. قل لمن ما في السماوات والأرض قل لله كتب على نفسه الرحمة ليجمعنكم إلى يوم القيامة لا ريب فيه

17. Say, "To whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth?" Say, "To Allah." He has decreed upon Himself mercy. Indeed, He will surely gather you for the Day of Resurrection, there is no doubt about it.

18. الذين خسروا أنفسهم فهم لا يؤمنون

18. Those who have lost themselves, for they do not believe.

19. وله ما سكن في الليل والنهار وهو السميع العليم

19. And to Him belongs whatever dwells in the night and the day; and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

20. قل أغير الله أتخذ وليا فاطر السماوات والأرض وهو يطعم ولا يطعم

20. Say, "Should I seek a guardian other than Allah, while He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth? And He feeds, while I am not fed?"

21. قل إني أمرت أن أكون أول من أسلم

21. Say, "I have been commanded to be the first of those who submit (to Allah)."

22. ولا تكون من المشركون

22. And do not be among the polytheists.

23. قل إني أخاف إن عصيت ربي عذاب يوم عظيم

23. Say, "Indeed, I fear the punishment of a Great Day if I disobey my Lord."

24. من يصرف عنه يومئذ فقد رحمه وذلك الفوز المبين

"Whoever is averted from it that Day - Allah has shown him mercy; and that is the great attainment."

25. وإن يمسسك الله بضر فلا كاشف له إلا هو

25. And if Allah touches you with harm, there is no remover of it except Him.

26. وإن يمسسك بخير فلا يحفظه إلا هو

26. And if He touches you with good, then none can withhold it except He.

27. فهو على كل شيء قدير

27. He is able to do all things.

28. وهو القاهر فوق عباده

28. And He is the Supreme Over His Servants.

29. وهو الحكيم الخبير

29. And He is the All-Wise, the All-Aware.

30. قل أي شيء أكبر شهادة

30. Say, "What is greater as a testimony?"

31. قل الله شهيد بيني وبينكم

31. Say, "Allah is a witness between me and you."

32. وأوحي إلي هذا القرآن لأنذركم به

32. And this Qur'an was revealed to me so that I may warn you with it.

33. أئنكم لتشهدون أن مع الله آلهة أخرى

33. "Do you indeed testify that there are other gods with Allah?"

34. قل لا أشهد

34. Say, "I do not bear witness."

35. قل إنما هو إله واحد وإنني بريء مما تشرفون

35. Say, "Indeed, He is a single God, and I am disassociated from what you associate."

36. الذين آتيناهم الكتاب يعرفون

36. Those to whom We have given the Book know.

37. كما يعرفون أبناءهم

37. As they know their own sons.

38. الذين خسروا أنفسهم فهم لا يؤمنون

38. Those who have lost themselves, for they do not believe.

39. ومن أظلم ممن افترى على الله كذبا أو كذب بآياته

39. And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah or denies His signs?

40. إنه لا يفلح الظالمون

40. Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed.

41. ويوم نحشرهم جميعا ثم

41. And the day We gather them all together, then...

42. ثم نقول للذين أشركوا أين شركاؤكم الذين كنتم تزعمون

42. Then we will say to those who associated others with Allah, "Where are your partners that you used to claim?"

42. ثم لم تكن فتنتهم إلا أن قالوا والله ربنا

42. Then their temptation was only that they said, "By God, our Lord."

43. ما كنا مشركين

43. We were not polytheists.

44. انظر كيف كذبوا على أنفسهم

44. Look how they lied to themselves.

45. وضل عنهم ما كانوا يفترون

"And what they used to fabricate has abandoned them."

46. ومنهم من يستمع إليك

46. And among them are some who listen to you.

47. وجعلنا على قلوبهم أكنة أن يفقهوا

"And We placed coverings over their hearts so they would not understand."

48. وفي آذانهم وقالوا

48. And in their ears they said.

49. وإن يروا كل آية لا يؤمنوا بها

49. And if they see every sign, they will not believe in them.

50. حتى إذا جاءوك يجادلونك

50. Until, when they come to you, they argue with you.

51. يقول الذين كفروا إن هذا إلا أساطير الأولين

51. Those who disbelieve say, "This is nothing but legends of the ancients."

52. وهم ينهون عنه وينأون عنه

52. And they forbid it and stay away from it.

53. وإن يهلكون إلا أنتونهم

"And they will not be destroyed except for you."

54. وأنفسهم وما يشعرون

54. And themselves, and what they are feeling.

55. ولو ترى إذ وقفوا على النار فقالوا يا ليتنا نرد ولا نكذب بآيات ربنا ونكون من المؤمنين

"And if you could see when they stand before the Fire and say, 'Oh, how we wish we could return and not deny the signs of our Lord and be among the believers.'"

56. بل بدا لهم ما كانوا يخفون من قبل

56. But what they had previously hidden has become evident to them.

57. ولو ردوا أن يكونوا مؤمنين

57. And if they were to return, they would choose to be believers.

وقالوا لعادوا لما نهوا عنه وإنهم لكاذبون

And they said to 'Aad, when they were forbidden, "Indeed, they are liars."

وقالوا إن هي إلا حياتنا الدنيا وما نحن بمبعوثين

And they said, “This is only our worldly life, and we will not be resurrected.”

ولو ترى إذ وقفوا على ربهم قال أليس هذا بالحق قالوا بلى وربنا

"And if you could see when they stand before their Lord, He will say, 'Is this not the truth?' They will say, 'Yes, by our Lord.'"

قال فذوقوا العذاب بما كنتم تكفرون

He said, "So taste the punishment for what you used to deny."

قد خسر الذين كذبوا بلقاء الله حتى إذا جاءتهم الساعة بغتة قالوا يا حسرتنا

Indeed, those who denied the meeting with Allah have lost; when the Hour comes upon them suddenly, they will say, "Oh, how regretful we are!"

قالوا يا حسرتنا على ما فرطنا فيها

They said, "Oh, how regretful we are for what we neglected in it."

وهم يحفظون

And they keep it safe.

وهم يحملون أوزارهم على ظهورهم ألا ساء ما يزرون

"And they carry their burdens on their backs. Evil is what they carry."

وما الحياة الدنيا إلا لعب وله وللدار الآخرة خير للذين يتقون

"And the worldly life is only amusement and diversion, and the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear [Allah]."

أفلا تعقلون

Do you not understand?

قد نعلم إنه ليحزنك الذي يقولون

"We know that what they say can be distressing to you."

فإنهم لا يكذبونك ولكن الظالمين بآيات الله يجحدون

They do not deny you, but the wrongdoers reject the signs of Allah.

ولقد كذبت رسل من قبلك فصبروا على ما كذبوا وأوذوا

And indeed, messengers before you were denied, but they were patient over what they were denied and harmed.

حتى أتاهموا

Until they came to them.

نصرنا

Our victory

ولا مبدل لكلمات الله

And there is no changing the words of Allah.

ولقد جاءك من نبأ المرسلين

"And indeed, there has come to you from the news of the messengers."

وإن كان كبر عليك إعراضهم فإن استطعت أن تبتغي نفقا في الأرض أو سلما في السماء

"And if their turning away is hard on you, then seek a tunnel in the earth or a ladder in the sky."

فإن استطعت أن تبتغي نفقا في الأرض أو سلما في السماء

"If you can seek a tunnel in the earth or a ladder in the sky."

وما من دابة في الأرض ولا طائر يطير بجناحه إلا أمم أمثالكم

"And there is no creature on earth, nor a bird that flies with its wings, but they are communities like you."

ما فرقنا في الكتاب من شيء ثم إلى ربهم يحشرون

"Nothing was left out of the Book; then they will be gathered to their Lord."

والذين كذبوا بآياتنا صم وبكم

And those who denied our signs are deaf and mute.

في الظلمات

In the darkness.

من يشأ الله يضلله ومن يشأ يجعله على صراط مستقيم

Whomever Allah wills, He leads astray; and whomever He wills, He sets on a straight path.

قل أرأيتكم إن أتاكم عذاب الله أو أتتكم الساعة وغير الله تدعون إن كنتم صادقين

Say, "Have you considered: if the punishment of Allah comes to you or the Hour comes upon you, will you call upon other than Allah, if you are truthful?"

بل إياه تدعون فيكشف ما تدعون إليه إن شاء وتنسون ما تشركون

But instead, you call upon Him, and He reveals what you call upon if He wills, and you forget what you associate with Him.

ولقد أرسلنا إلى أمم من قبلك فأخذناهم بالبأساء والضراء

And We sent to nations before you, and We seized them with hardship and suffering.

لعلهم يتضرعون

Perhaps they are imploring.

فلولا إذ جاءهم بأسنا تضرعوا ولكن قست قلوبهم

But if only, when Our punishment came to them, they had humbled themselves; but their hearts hardened.

وزين لهم الشيطان ما كانوا يعملون

And the devil made their deeds seem fair to them.

فلما نسوا ما ذكروا به فتحنا عليهم أبواب كل شيء

And when they forgot what they had been reminded of, We opened to them the doors of everything.

حتى إذا فرحوا بما أوتوا أخذوا

So when they rejoiced in what they had been given, We took them.

أخذناهم بغتة فإذا هم مبذسون

We took them by surprise, and they were scattered.

فقطع دابر القوم الذين ظلموا والحمد لله رب العالمين

"And He cut off the roots of the people who did wrong, and praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds."

قل أرأيتم إن أخذ الله سمعكم وأبصاركم وختم على قلوبكم

Say, "Have you considered that if Allah were to take away your hearing and your sight and seal your hearts..."

من إله غير الله يأتيكم

From a god other than Allah comes to you.

به

He/it

انظر كيف نصرف الآيات ثم هم يصدفون

"Look how We articulate the verses, yet they turn away."

قل أرأيتكم إن أتاكم عذاب الله بغتة أو جهرة

Say, "Have you considered that if the punishment of Allah should come to you suddenly or openly..."

هل يهلك إلا القوم الظالمون

"Will not be destroyed except for the wrongdoing people?"

وما نرسل المرسلين إلا مبشرين ومنذرين

"And We do not send the messengers except as bringers of good tidings and warners."

فمن آمن وأصلح فلا تنسى

So whoever believes and does righteous deeds, do not forget.

لا خوف عليهم ولا هم يحزنون

They have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve.

والذين كذبوا بآياتنا يمسهم العذاب بما كانوا يفسقون

"And those who denied Our signs will be touched by the punishment because they used to transgress."

قل لا أقول لكم عندي خزائن الله ولا أعلم الغيب

Say, "I do not say to you that I have the treasures of Allah, nor do I know the unseen."

ولا أقول لكم إني ملك

And I do not say to you that I am a king.

إلا ما يوحى إليه

Except what is revealed to him.

قل هل يستوي الأعمى والبصير أفلا تتفكرون

Say, "Are the blind and the seeing equal? Will you not then reflect?"

وأنذر به الذين يخافون أن يحشروا إلى ربهم

"And warn by it those who fear that they will be gathered to their Lord."

ليس لهم من دونه ولي ولا شفيع لعلهم يتقون

They have no protector or intercessor besides Him, so perhaps they will fear (Him).

وليس لهم من دونه ولي ولا شفيع لعلهم يتقون

"And they have no protector or intercessor other than Him, perhaps they will fear (Allah)."

ولا تطرد الذين يدعون ربهم بالغداة والعشي يريدون وجهه

And do not drive away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His face.

ما عليك من حسابهم من شيء

Do not be concerned about their account at all.

فتطردهم فتكون من الظالمين

So you expel them and thus become one of the wrongdoers.

وكذلك فتنا بعضهم ببعض المؤمنين

"And thus We have made some of them a trial for others among the believers."

يقولوا أهؤلاء من الله عليهم من بيننا

They say, "Are these the ones whom God has favored over us?"

أليس الله بأعلم بالشاكرين

Isn't Allah Most Knowing of the grateful?

وإذا جاءك الذين يؤمنون بآياتنا فقل سلام عليكم

And when those come to you who believe in Our verses, say, "Peace be upon you."

كتب ربكم على نفسه الرحمة

Your Lord has decreed upon Himself mercy.

أنه من عمل منكم

"Whoever among you has done."

سوءا بجهالة

"Badness out of ignorance."

ثم تاب من بعده وأصلح

Then he repented afterwards and corrected himself.

فأنه غفور رحيم

Indeed, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

وكذلك نفصل الآيات ولتستبين سبيل المجرمين

And likewise, We explain the verses so that the way of the criminals may become clear.

قل إني نهيت أن أعبد الذين تدعون من دون الله

Say, "Indeed, I was forbidden to worship those whom you invoke besides Allah."

قل لا اتبع أهواءكم قد ضللت إذا وما أنا من المهتدين

Say, "I do not follow your desires, for I would have gone astray if I did, and I am not among the rightly guided."

قل إني على بينة من ربي وكذبتم به

Say, "I am on clear evidence from my Lord, and you have denied it."

ما عندي ما تستعجلون به

I don't have what you are in a hurry for.

إن الحكم إلا لله

The judgment is only for God.

يقص الحق هو خير الفاصلين

Surely, the truth cuts; it is the best of separators.

قل لو أن

Say if that

عندي ما تستعجلون به

I have what you are in a hurry for.

لقضي الأمر بيني وبينكم

The matter would be settled between me and you.

والله أعلم بالظالمين

And Allah knows best about the wrongdoers.

وعنده مفاتح الغيب

"And with Him are the keys of the unseen."

لا يعلمها إلا هو

No one knows it but Him.

ويعلم ما في البر والبحر

And He knows what is in the land and in the sea.

وما تسقط من ورقة

"And no leaf falls."

إلا يعلمها ولا حبة

"Doesn't he know it or a single grain?"

ولا حبة

Not a single seed.

في ظلمات الأرض

In the darkness of the earth.

ولا رطب ولا يابس

Neither moist nor dry.

إلا في كتاب مبين

Except in a clear Book.

وهو الذي يتوفاكم بالليل

"And He is the One who takes your souls at night."

ويعلم ما جرحتم بالنهار

"And He knows what you have wounded during the day."

ثم يبعثكم فيه ليقضى أجل مسمى

Then He will resurrect you in it to fulfill a specified term.

ثم إليه مرجعكم

"Then to Him will be your return."

ثم ينهيكم

Then He will finish you.

ثم ينبئكم

Then He will inform you.

ثم ينبئكم بما كنتم تعملون

Then He will inform you of what you used to do.

وهو القاهر فوق عباده

"And He is the Conqueror over His servants."

ويرسل عليكم حفظة

"And He sends upon you guardians."

حتى إذا جاء أحدكم الموت

Until when death comes to one of you.

توفته رسلنا

Our messengers took him.

وهم لا يفرطون

And they do not fall short.

ثم ردوا إلى الله مولاهم الحق

Then they returned to Allah, their true protector.

ألا له الحكم وهو أسرع الحاسبين

"Indeed, to Him belongs the judgment, and He is the swiftest of accountants."

قل من ينجيكم من ظلمات البر والبحر

Say, "Who rescues you from the darkness of the land and the sea?"

تدعونه تضرعا

They call upon Him with humility.

تضرعا وخفية

In supplication and secretly.

لإن أنجانا

For if He saves us.

من هذه

Who is this?

لنكونن من الشاكرين

We will certainly be among the grateful.

قل الله ينجيكم منها ومن كل كر

Say, "Allah will save you from it and from every hardship."

ثم أنتم تشرفون

Then you are honored.

قل هو القادر على أن يبعث عليكم عذابا من فوقكم

Say, "He is capable of sending down upon you a punishment from above you."

أو من تحت أرجلكم

Or from beneath your feet.

أو يلبسكم شيعا ويذيق بعضكم بأس بعض

"Or He could make you into factions and make you taste the violence of one another."

انظر كيف نصرف الآيات لعلهم يفقهون

"Look how we render the verses so that they may understand."

وكذب به قومك وهو الحق

And your people have denied it, while it is the truth.

قل لست عليكم بوكيل

Say, "I am not a guardian over you."

لكل نبأ مستقر

Every news has its resting place.

وسوف تعلمون

And you will know.

وإذا رأيت الذين يخوضون في آياتنا

And when you see those who engage in our verses.

فأعرض عنهم

So turn away from them.

حتى يخوضوا في حديث غيره

Until they engage in discussions about something else.

وإنا ينسينك الشيطان

"And if the devil causes you to forget."

فلا تقعد بعد الذكرى

So do not sit after the remembrance.

مع القوم الظالمين

With the unjust people.

وما على الذين يتقون

And there is no blame upon those who are conscious of Allah.

من حسابهم من شيء

"From their account of something."

ولكن ذكرى

But a memory

ولكن ذكرى لعلهم يتقون

"But a reminder, perhaps they will fear (Allah)."

وذل الذين اتخذوا دينهم لعبا ولهوا

"And those who have taken their religion as a game and amusement."

وغرتهم الحياة الدنيا

And the worldly life deceived them.

وذكر به أن تبسل نفس بما كسبت

"And it is mentioned that a soul will be held accountable for what it has earned."

ليس لها من دون الله

It has no one besides God.

ولي ولا شفيع

No protector or intercessor for me.

وإذ تعدل كل عدل

"And when you measure, measure with justice."

لا يؤخذ منها

It is not taken from it.

أولئك الذين أبسلوا بما كسبوا

Those who are rewarded for what they have earned.

لهم شراب من حميم

They have a drink of boiling water.

وعذاب أليم

And a painful torment.

بما كانوا يكفرون

By what they were disbelieving.

قل أندعوا من دون الله

Say, "Shall we call upon others besides Allah?"

ما لا ينفعنا ولا يضرنا

What does not benefit us nor harm us.

ونرد على أعقابنا

"And we turn back on our heels."

بعد إذ هدان الله

After God has guided us.

كالذي استهوته الشياطين في الأرض حيران

Like one whom the devils have enticed in the earth, bewildered.

حيران له أصحاب يدعونه إلى الهدأتنا

He is confused; his friends are calling him to our calmness.

قل إنه

Say, "Indeed, it is."

هدى الله هو الهدى

The guidance of God is the true guidance.

وأمرنا لنسلم لرب العالمين

And we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds.

وأن أقيموا الصلاة واتقوه

"And establish prayer and fear Him."

وهو الذي إليه تحشرون

And He is the one to whom you will be gathered.

وهو الذي خلق السماوات والأرض بالحق

And He is the One who created the heavens and the earth with truth.

ويوم يقول كن فيكون قوله الحق

And on the Day when He says, "Be," it will be. His word is the truth.

وله الملقى

And to Him belongs the gathering.

يوم ينفخ في الصور

The day the trumpet is blown.

عالم الغيب والشهادة

The world of the unseen and the witnessed.

وهو الحكيم الخبير

He is the All-Wise, the All-Aware.

وإذ قال إبراهيم لأبيه آزر

"And when Abraham said to his father Azar."

أتتخذ أصناما آلهة

Do you take idols as gods?

إني أراك وقومك في ضلال مبين

"I see you and your people in clear misguidance."

وكذلك نري إبراهيم ملكوت السماوات والأرض

And thus We showed Abraham the dominion of the heavens and the earth.

وليكون من الموقنين

And to be among the certain.

فلما جن عليه الليل رأى كوكبا

So when night fell upon him, he saw a star.

قال هذا ربي

He said, "This is my Lord."

فلما أفل قال لا أحب الآفلين

So when it set, he said, "I do not love those that set."

فلما رأى القمر بازغا

When he saw the moon rising.

قال هذا ربي

He said, "This is my Lord."

فلما أفل قال لئن لم يهدني ربي

"And when it set, he said, 'If my Lord does not guide me...'"

لأكون من القوم الظالم

To be among the wrongdoers.

فلما رأى الشمس بازغة

When he saw the sun rising.

قال هذا ربي هذا أكبر

He said, "This is my Lord; this is greater."

فلما أفلت قال يا قوم

When the sun set, he said, "O my people..."

إني بريء مما تشركون

I am innocent of what you associate (with Him).

إني وجهت وجهي للذي فطر السماوات والأرض حليفا

"Indeed, I have directed my face towards the One who created the heavens and the earth, inclining towards Him."

وما أنا من المشركين

And I am not among the polytheists.

وحاجه قومه قال

And he argued with his people, saying

تحاجوني في الله وقد هدان

"You argue with me about God, while He has guided us."

ولا أخاف ما تشرفون به إلا

"I do not fear what you honor except..."

إلا أن يشاء ربي شيئا

Unless my Lord wills something.

وزع ربي كل شيء علما

"My Lord distributed everything with knowledge."

أفلا تتذكرون

Do you not remember?

وكيف أخاف ما تشرفون

And how could I be afraid of what you honor?

وما أشرفتم ولا تخافون أنكم أشرفتم بالله ما لم ينزل به عليكم سلطانا

"And you have not come to a place of honor, nor do you fear that you have attributed to Allah that for which He has not sent down to you any authority."

فأي الفريقين يحق بالأمن إن كنتم تعلمون

So which of the two teams has the right to security, if you know?

الذين آمنوا ولم يلبسوا إيمانهم بظلم

"Those who have believed and have not mixed their faith with injustice."

أولئك الذين أمنوا ولم يلبسوا إيمانهم بظلم أولئك

Those who have believed and have not mixed their belief with injustice - those are the ones for whom there is security, and they are guided.

117. وذلك لهم الأمن وهم مهتدون

117. And for them is security, and they are guided.

118. وتلك حجتنا آتيناها إبراهيم على قومه نرفع درجات من نشاء إن ربك حكيم عليم

118. And that is Our proof which We gave to Abraham against his people. We raise in degree whom We will. Indeed, your Lord is Wise and Knowing.

119. ووهبنا له إسحاق ويعقوب كلا هدينا ونوحا هدينا من قبل ومن ذريته داود وسليمان وأيوب ويوسف وموسى وهارون وكذلك نجزي المحسنين

119. And We gave him Isaac and Jacob, all of them We guided; and Noah, We guided before. And of his descendants, David and Solomon, Job and Joseph, Moses and Aaron. And thus do We reward the good doers.

110. وزكريا ويحيا وعيسى وإلياس كل مؤمنين

110. And Zechariah and John and Jesus and Elias, all were of the righteous.

111. وإسماعيل واليسع ويونس ولوطا وكلا فضلنا على العالمين

111. And Ismail, Al-Yasa, Yunus, and Lut; and all of them We preferred over the worlds.

112. ومن آبائهم وذرياتهم وإخوانهم واجتبيناهم وهديناهم إلى صراط مستقيم

112. And among their fathers, their descendants, and their brothers, We chose them and guided them to a straight path.

113. ذلك هدى الله يهدي به من يشاء

That is the guidance of Allah; He guides whom He wills.

114. من عباده ولو أشركوا لحبط عنهما كانوا يعملون

114. Of His servants, and if they had associated others with Him, worthless would have been what they were doing.

115. أولئك الذين آتيناهم الكتاب والحكم والنبوة فإن يكفر بها هؤلاء فقد وكلنا بها قوما ليسوا بها بكافرين

115. Those to whom We have given the Scripture, the authority, and the Prophethood; if these people disbelieve in it, We have entrusted it to a people who are not disbelievers in it.

116. أولئك الذين آتيناهم الكتاب والحكم والنبوة فإن يكفر بها هؤلاء فقد وكلنا بها قوما ليسوا بها بكافرين

116. Those to whom We have given the Book, wisdom, and prophethood; if they disbelieve in it, We have entrusted it to a people who are not disbelievers in it.

117. أولئك الذين آتيناهم الكتاب والحكم والنبوة فإن يكفر بها هؤلاء فقد وكلنا بها قوما ليسوا بها بكافرين

117. Those to whom We have given the Book, wisdom, and prophethood; if these (disbelievers) deny it, then We have entrusted it to a people who are not disbelievers in it.

126. أولئك الذين هدى الله فبهداه مقتده قل لا أسألكم عليه أجرا إنه إلا ذكرى للعالمين

126. Those are the ones whom Allah has guided, so follow their guidance. Say, "I do not ask you for it any reward; it is only a reminder for the worlds."

127. وما قدر الله حق قدره إذ قالوا ما أنزل الله على بشري شيء قل من أنزل الكتاب الذي جاء به موسى نورا وهدى للناس تجعلونه قراطي ستبدونها وتخفون كثيرا

127. And they did not appraise Allah with true appraisal when they said, "Allah did not send down upon a human being anything." Say, "Who sent down the Book which Moses brought as light and guidance for the people? You make it distinct while you conceal much."

128. وعلمتم ما لم تعلموا أن تفهموا

128. And you learned what you did not know in order to understand.

129. ولا آباءكم قل الله ثم ذرهم في خوضهم يلعبون

129. And your forefathers? Say, "God," then let them play in their distraction.

120. وهذا كتاب أنزلناه بارك مصدق الذي بين يديه ولتنذر أم القرى ومن حولها

120. And this is a Book We have sent down, blessed, confirming that which is before it, and to warn the Mother of Cities and those around it.

121. والذين يؤمنون

121. And those who believe

122. بالآخرة يؤمنون به وهم على صلاتهم يحافظون

122. In the Hereafter, they will believe in it, and they are diligent in their prayers.

123. ومن أظلم ممن افترى على الله كذبا أو قال أوحي إلي ولم يوحى إليه شيء ومن قال سأنزل مثل ما أنزل الله

"And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah or says, 'Revelation has been sent down to me,' when nothing has been sent down to him, and one who says, 'I will reveal the like of what Allah has revealed'?"

124. ولو ترى إذ الظالمون

"And if you could see when the wrongdoers..."

125. في غمرات الموت والملائكة باسقوا أيديهم أخرجوا أنفسكم

125. In the throes of death, and the angels extending their hands, "Extract your souls!"

126. اليوم تجزون عذاب الهون بما كنتم تقولون على الله غير الحق

"Today you are rewarded with the punishment of humiliation for what you used to say about Allah without right."

127. وكونتم تقولون على الله غير الحق وكلنا نستكر walls

127. And you were saying about Allah what is not true, and we all condemn it.

128. ويكون هنا تجزون عذاب الهون بما كنتم تقولون على الله غير الحق وكلنا نستكر walls

128. And here you will be punished with the torment of disgrace for what you used to say about Allah without truth, and we all condemn walls.

129. وي habitats is also ten years of spots that take turns again tofilm and the reporting of this second flight of the day .

129. And habitats also have ten years of spots that take turns again to film and report this second flight of the day.

119. ولقد جئتمونا فرادا كما خلقناكم أول مرة وتركتم ما خولناكم وراء ظهوركم

119. And indeed, you have come to us individually, just as We created you the first time, and you have left behind what We bestowed upon you.

120. وما نرى معكم شفعاءكم الذين زعمتم أنهم فيكم شركاء لقد تقطع بينكم وضل عنكم ما كنتم تزعمون

120. And we do not see with you your intercessors whom you claimed were partners to you. Indeed, the ties have been cut off between you, and what you used to assert has departed from you.

121. إن الله فارق الحب والنمو

121. Indeed, God has separated love and growth.

122. يخرج الحي من الميت ومخرج الميت من الحي ذلكم الله فأنا تؤفكون

"122. He brings the living out of the dead, and He brings the dead out of the living. That is Allah, so how are you turned away?"

123. فارق الإصباح وجعل الليل سكنا والشمس والقمر حسبانا ذلك تقدير العزيز العليم

123. The dawn has departed, and the night has become a dwelling; the sun and the moon are calculated. That is the decree of the Almighty, the All-Knowing.

124. وهو الذي جعل لكم النجوم لتهتدوا

And He is the One who made the stars for you to guide you.

125. ويجعل لكم النجوم لتهتدوا

125. And He made the stars for you to guide you.

126. لتهتدوا بها في ظلمات البر والبحر

126. So that you may be guided through the darkness of the land and the sea.

127. قد فصلنا الآيات لقوم يعلمون

127. We have detailed the verses for a people who know.

128. وهو الذي أنشأكم من نفس واحدة فمستقر ومستودع

128. And He is the One who created you from one soul; there is a place of settling and a temporary place of dwelling.

129. قد فصلنا الآيات لقوم يفقهون

"We have detailed the verses for a people who understand."

120. وهو الذي أنزل من السماء ماء فأخرجنا به نبات كل شيء

120. And He is the One who sends down water from the sky, and with it, We bring forth vegetation of all kinds.

121. فأخرجنا منه خضرا نخرج منه حبا متراكبا

121. So We brought forth from it greenery, from which We produce clustered grains.

122. ومن النخل من طلعها قنوان دانية وجنات

122. And from the palm trees, there are clusters of dates, hanging low, and gardens.

123. وجنات نبات كل شيء

123. And gardens, the plants of everything.

124. وجنات من أعناب والزيتون والرمان مشتبها وغير متشابه

124. And gardens of grapes, olives, and pomegranates, similar and dissimilar.

125. انظروا إلى ثمنه إذا أثمر وينعه

125. Look at its price when it bears fruit and ripens.

126. إن في ذلكم لآيات لقوم يؤمنون

126. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who believe.

127. ونحن نحن نحن نحن نحن نحن

127. And we, we, we, we, we, we.

128. وجعلوا لله شركاء الجن وخلقهم

128. And they made for Allah partners from the jinn while He created them.

129. وخرقوا له بنين وبنات بغير علم

129. And they fabricated for Him sons and daughters without knowledge.

120. سبحانه وتعالى عما يصفون

"Glory be to Him and Exalted is He above what they describe."

121. بديع السماوات والأرض

The Creator of the heavens and the earth.

122. أنا يكون له ولد ولم تكن له صاحبة

122. I have a son and no partner.

123. وخلق كل شيء

123. And He created everything.

124. وهو بكل شيء عليم

124. And He is All-Knowing of everything.

125. ذلكم الله ربكم لا إله إلا هو خالق كل شيء فاعبدوه

That is Allah, your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things. So worship Him.

126. وهو على كل شيء وكيل

126. And He is, over all things, Disposer of Affairs.

127. لا تدركه الأبصار وهو يدرك الأبصار

"The sight cannot perceive Him, while He perceives all sight."

128. وهو اللطيف الخبير

128. He is the Subtle, the All-Aware.

129. قد جاءه الله وقال له أبداً

129. God came to him and said to him, never.

120. ما أكون بصائر من ربكم

120. I would not be a bearer of insights from your Lord.

121. فمن أبصر فلنفسه ومن عنيف عليها

121. So whoever sees, it is for his own soul; and whoever is blind, it is against it.

122. وما أنا عليكم بحفير

"And I am not a guardian over you."

123. وكذلك نصرف الآيات وليقولوا درست ولنبينه لقوم يعلمون

123. And thus We repeat the verses, so they may say, "You have studied," and to make it clear for a people who know.

124. اتبع ما أقولون

124. Follow what I say.

125. ووحي إليك من ربك

125. And it has been revealed to you from your Lord.

126. لا إله إلا هو وأعرض عنه مشركين

126. There is no deity except Him, and they turn away as polytheists.

127. ولو شاء الله ما أشرفوا

127. And if Allah had willed, they would not have associated (others with Him).

128. وما جعلناك عليهم حفيظا وما أنت عليهم بوكيل

"And We did not make you a guardian over them, nor are you a manager over them."

129. ولا تسبوا الذين يدعون من دون الله

129. And do not insult those whom they invoke besides Allah.

120. فيسبوا الله عدلهم

120. They made God their ally, so let them be just.

121. بغير علم

121. Without knowledge

122. كذلك زينا لكل أمة عملهم ثم إلى ربهم مرجعهم

122. Likewise, We have adorned for every nation its work, then to their Lord is their return.

123. فينبئهم بما كانوا يعملون

123. So He will inform them of what they used to do.

124. وأقسموا بالله جهد أيمانهم لئن جاءتهم آية

124. And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths that if a sign came to them.

125. ليؤمنوا نحن

125. Let them believe in us.

126. قل إنما الآيات عند الله وما يشعركم أنها إذا جاءت لا يؤمنون

126. Say, "The signs are only with Allah, and what will make you perceive that when they come, they will not believe?"

127. ونقلب أفئدتهم وأبصارهم كما لم يؤمنوا به أول مرة ونذرهم في طغيانهم يعمهون

127. And We turn their hearts and their eyes as they did not believe in it the first time, and We leave them in their transgression, wandering blindly.

128. ونقلب أفئدتهم وأبصارهم كما لم يؤمنوا به أول مرة ونذرهم في طغيانهم يعمهون

128. And We turn away their hearts and their eyes, just as they did not believe in it the first time; and We leave them in their transgression, wandering blindly.

129. ولو أننا نزلنا إليهم الملائكة وكلمهم الموتى

"And if We had sent down to them the angels and the dead had spoken to them."

120. وحشرنا عليهم كل شيء قبلا ما كانوا ليؤمنوا إلا أن يشاء الله ولكن أكثرهم يجهلون

120. And We gathered upon them everything in advance; they would not believe except if Allah wills, but most of them are ignorant.

121. وكذلك جعلنا لكم نفسنا ونحن نؤمنون

121. And likewise, We made for you our own selves, and we believe.

122. كل نبي عدوا شياطين الإنس والجن يوحي بعضهم إلى بعض زخرف القول غرورا ولو شاء ربك ما فعلوه فذرهم وما يفترون

122. Every prophet has enemies among the devils of mankind and jinn; they inspire each other with alluring speech as a delusion. And if your Lord had willed, they would not have done it. So leave them with what they invent.

123. ولتصى إليه أفئدة الذين لا يؤمنون بالآخرة

"And to it will turn the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter."

124. وليرضوه وليقترفوا ما هم مقترفون

124. And let them be pleased with it, and let them commit what they are committing.

125. أفغير الله أبتغي حكما وهو الذي أنزل إليكم الكتاب مفصلا

"Is it other than God that I should seek as a judge, while it is He who has sent down to you the Book explained in detail?"

126. والذين آتيناهم الكتاب يعلمون أنه منزل من ربه

126. And those to whom We have given the Book know that it is sent down from your Lord.

127. ومنزل من ربك بالحق فلا تكونن من الممترين

127. And a house from your Lord in truth, so do not be among the doubters.

128. وتمت كلمة ربك صدقا وعدلا لا مبدل لكلماته وهو السميع العليم

128. And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and justice; there is no changing His words, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

129. وإن تطع أكثر من في الأرض يضلوك عن سبيل الله

"And if you obey most of those on the earth, they will lead you astray from the way of Allah."

120. إن يتبعونك يقولون لك أهل ذي المسلمين

120. They follow you, saying to you the people of the Muslims.

121. وإن تطع أكثر من في الأرض يضلوك عن سبيل الله إن يتبعونك أهل ذي المسلمين

"And if you obey most of those on the earth, they will lead you away from the way of Allah; they follow nothing but conjecture."

111. إن ربك هو أعلم من يضل عن سبيله وهو أعلم بالمهتدين

111. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His path, and He is most knowing of the rightly guided.

112. فكلوا مما ذكر اسم الله عليه إن كنتم بآياته مؤمنين

112. So eat of what has been mentioned the name of Allah upon it if you are believers in His verses.

113. وما لكم ألا تأكلوا مما ذكر اسم الله عليه وقد فصل لكم ما حرم عليكم إلا ما اضطررتم إليه وإن كثيرا ليضلون بأهوائهم بغير علم

113. And why should you not eat of that upon which the name of Allah has been mentioned, and He has explained in detail what is forbidden to you, except that to which you are compelled? And indeed, many lead others astray through their desires without knowledge.

114. إن ربك هو أعلم بالمهتدين

114. Indeed, your Lord is Most Knowing of the guided.

115. وذعوا ظاهر الإثم وباطنه إن الذين يكسبون الإثم سيجزون بما كانوا يقترفون

115. And they abandoned both the outward sin and the inward sin. Indeed, those who earn sin will be recompensed for what they used to commit.

116. ولا تأكلوا مما لم يذكر اسم الله عليه وإنه لفسق وإن الشياطين ليوحون إلى أوليائهم ليجادلوا

116. And do not eat from that upon which the name of Allah has not been mentioned, for indeed, it is a transgression. And indeed, the devils inspire their allies to argue with you.

117. وإن أطعتموهم إنكم لمشركون

117. And if you obey them, then indeed you are among the polytheists.

118. أومن كان ميتا فأحييناه وجعلنا له نورا يمشي به في الناس كمن مثله في الظلمات ليس بخارج منها

"Is he who was dead and We gave him life and made for him a light by which to walk among the people like him whose likeness is in darkness from which he cannot emerge?"

119. كذلك زين للكافرين ما كانوا يتقون

"Thus, what they used to fear has been made appealing to the disbelievers."

110. وكذلك جعلنا في كل قرية أكابر مجرمينا ليمكروا فيها وما يمكرون إلا بأنفسهم وما يشعرون

110. And thus We made in every city its distinguished criminals to conspire therein, but they conspire not except against themselves, and they perceive not.

111. وإذا جاءتهم آية قالوا لن نؤمن حتى نؤتى مثل ما أوتي رسل الله

And when a sign comes to them, they say, "We will not believe until we are given the like of what was given to the messengers of Allah."

112. الله أعلم حيث يجعل رسالته سيصيب الذين أجرموا صغار عند الله وعذاب شديد بما كانوا يمكرون

112. Allah knows best where He places His message. The guilty will suffer humiliation before Allah and a severe punishment for their deceit.

113. فمن يرد الله أن يهديه يشرح صدره للإسلام

113. So whoever Allah wills to guide, He expands his chest to Islam.

114. ومن يرد الله أن يهديه يشرح صدره للإسلام

And whomever Allah wills to guide, He expands his breast to Islam.

115. ومن يرد الله أن يهديه يشرح صدره للإسلام

115. And whoever Allah wills to guide, He expands his breast to Islam.

111. أن يضله يجعل صدره ضيقا حرجا كأنما يصعد في السماء كذلك يجعل الله الرجس على الذين لا يؤمنون

111. That He leads him astray makes his breast constricted and anguish as if he were climbing up into the sky; thus, Allah places abomination upon those who do not believe.

112. وهذا صراط ربك مستقيما قد فصلنا الآيات لقوم يذكرون

112. And this is the straight path of your Lord; We have detailed the signs for a people who remember.

113. لهم دار السلام عند ربهم وهو وليهم بما كانوا يعملون

"For them is the House of Peace with their Lord, and He is their protector for what they used to do."

114. ويوم يحشرهم جميعا يا معشر الجن قد استثرتم من الإذن

"And the Day when He gathers them all together, [He will say], 'O company of jinn, you have certainly exceeded in your permission.'"

115. وقال أولياؤهم من الإنس ربنا استمتع بعضنا ببعض وبلغنا أجلنا الذي أجلت لنا

115. And their allies among mankind said, "Our Lord, we have enjoyed one another, and we have reached our appointed term which You appointed for us."

116. قال النار مثواكم خالدين فيها إلا ما شاء الله إن ربك حكيم عليم

116. He said, "The Fire will be your dwelling place, to remain therein forever, except for what Allah wills. Indeed, your Lord is Wise and Knowing."

117. وكالتالي

117. And as follows

143. وذلك نولي بعض الظالمين بعضا بما كانوا يكسبون

143. And thus We appoint some of the wrongdoers over others because of what they used to earn.

145. يا معشر الجن والإنس ألم يأتكم رسل منكم يقصون عليكم آياتي وينذرونكم لقاء يومكم هذا قالوا شهدنا على أنفسنا وغرتهم الحياة الدنيا وشهدوا على أنفسهم

145. O assembly of jinn and mankind, did not messengers come to you from among yourselves, reciting to you My verses and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours? They will say, "We bear witness against ourselves." And the worldly life had deceived them, and they will bear witness against themselves.

146. أنهم كانوا كافرين

146. They were disbelievers.

147. ذلك أن لم يكن ربك مهلك القرى بظلم وأهلها غافلون

147. That is because your Lord would not destroy the towns unjustly while their people were unaware.

148. ولكل درجات مما عملوا وما ربك بغافل عما يعملون

148. And for all are degrees from what they have done, and your Lord is not unaware of what they do.

149. وربك الغني ذو الرحمة إن يشأ يذهبكم ويأتون

149. And your Lord is the All-Rich, Full of Mercy; if He wills, He can remove you and bring forth others.

140. ويستخلف من بعدكم ما يشاء كما أنشأكم من ذرية قوم آخرين

140. And He will appoint successors after you as He created you from the descendants of another people.

141. إنما توعدون لات وما أنتم بمعجزين

141. What you are promised is indeed true, and you cannot escape it.

142. قل يا قوم اعملوا على مكانتكم إني عامل

142. Say, "O my people, work according to your position; indeed, I am working."

143. فسوف تحفظون

143. So you will be preserved.

144. فتعلمون من تكون له عاقبة الدار

144. So you will know who will have the final outcome of the home.

145. إنه لا يفلح الظالمون

145. Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed.

146. وجعلوا لله مما ذرأ من الحرث والأنعام نصيبا فقالوا هذا لله بزعمهم وهذا لشركائنا

146. And they allocated to Allah a portion of the crops and livestock that He created, saying, "This is for Allah," according to their claim, "and this is for our partners."

147. فما كانوا يتعلمون

147. So they were not learning.

148. وما كان للشركائهم فلا يصل إلى الله وما كان لله فهو يصل إلى شركائهم ساء ما يحكمون

148. And what is for their partners does not reach Allah, but what is for Allah reaches their partners. Evil is what they judge.

149. وكذلك زين لكثير من المشركين قتل أولادهم شركاؤهم لله ويحكمون

"And likewise, it has been made appealing to many of the polytheists to kill their children, their partners in God decree."

140. ليردوهم وليلبسوا عليهم دينهم ولو شاء الله ما فعلوه فذرهم وما يفترون

140. Let them turn them away and confuse their religion; if Allah had willed, they would not have done it. So leave them and what they invent.

141. وقالوا هذه أنعام وحرث حجر لا يطعمها إلا من نشاء

141. And they said, "These are livestock and tilled land, and none is to be fed from them except whom we wish."

142. وقالوا بزعمهم وأنعام حرمت ظهورها وأنعام لا يذكرون اسم الله عليها افتراء عليه سيجزيهم بما كانوا يفترون

142. And they said, by their claim, that certain livestock are forbidden from being ridden, and livestock on which the name of Allah is not mentioned, attributing falsehood to Him. He will recompense them for what they used to invent.

143. وقالوا ما في بطون هذه الأنعام خالصة لذكورنا ومحرم على أزواجنا

143. And they said, "The contents of the bellies of these animals are exclusively for our males and forbidden for our females."

144. وإن يكن ميتة فهم فيه شركاء سيجزيهم وصفهم إنه حكيم عليم

"And if it is a dead thing, then they are partners in it; He will recompense them according to their description. Indeed, He is Wise and Knowing."

145. قد خسر الذين قتلوا أولادهم سفها بغير علم

145. Those who have killed their children foolishly without knowledge have indeed lost.

146. وحرموا ما رزقهم الله افتراء على الله

146. And they prohibited what Allah had provided for them, attributing falsehood to Allah.

147. وما كانوا مهتدين

147. And they were not guided.

148. وهو الذي أنشى جنات معروشات وغير معروشات

148. And He is the One who created gardens, trellised and untrellised.

149. والنخل والزرع مختلفا أكله والزيتون والرمان متشابها وغير متشابه

149. And the palm trees and crops have different types of fruit, while olives and pomegranates are similar and not similar.

140. كلوا من ثمره مذا أثمر وآتوا حقه يوم حصاده ولا تسرفوا إنه لا يحب المسرفين

140. Eat of its fruit when it ripens, and give its due on the day of harvest, and do not waste, for indeed, He does not like the wasteful.

141. ومن الأنعام حمولة وفرشا

"Among the livestock are burdens and adornments."

142. كلوا مما رزقكم الله ولا تتبعوا خطوات الشيطان

142. Eat from what Allah has provided for you and do not follow the footsteps of Satan.

143. إنه لكم عدو مبين

143. Indeed, he is a manifest enemy to you.

144. ثمانية أزواج من الضأن اثنين ومن المعز اثنين

144. Eight pairs of sheep, two, and two of goats.

145. قل آذ ذكرين حرم أم الأنثيين

Say, "Is it the two males that He has forbidden, or the females?"

146. أما اشتملت عليه أرحام الأنثيين

146. What the wombs of the two females contained.

147. نبعوني بعلم إن كنتم صادقين

"Bring me knowledge if you are truthful."

148. ومن الإبل اثنين ومن البقر اثنين

"Two from the camels and two from the cows."

149. قل آذ ذكرين حرم أم الأنثيين

Say, "Are the males for the two of you and the females for the two?"

140. أما اشتملت عليه أرحام الأنثيين

140. As for what the wombs of the two females contain.

141. أم كنتم شهداء

141. Or were you witnesses?

142. إذ وصاكم الله بهذا

142. Thus, Allah has enjoined you with this.

143. فمن أظلم ممن افترى على الله كذبا ليضل الناس بغير علم

143. So who is more unjust than one who fabricates a lie against Allah in order to mislead people without knowledge?

144. إن الله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين

Indeed, Allah does not guide the unjust people.

145. قل لا أجد فيما أوحي إلي محرما

145. Say, "I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden."

146. على طاعم يطعمه إلا أن يكون ميتة أو دما مسفوحا أو لحم خنزير

146. There is no food that he can eat except for dead animals, or blood that has been spilled, or the flesh of swine.

147. فإنه رجس أو فسقا أهل لغير الله به

"It is indeed an abomination or a wickedness that is dedicated to other than Allah."

148. فمن اضطر غير باغ ولا عاد

148. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [to do wrong] nor transgressing, then indeed, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.

149. فإنه رجس أو فسقا أهل لغير الله به

"It is indeed an abomination or a wickedness dedicated to other than Allah."

140. وعلى الذين هادوا حرمنا كل ذي ظفر

"And on those who became Jews, We prohibited every animal with claws."

141. ومن البقر والغنم حرمنا عليهم شحومهما

141. And from the cattle and sheep, We prohibited them their fat.

142. إلا ما حملت ظهورهما أو الحوايا أو ما اختلط بعظم

"Except what their backs carry, or the intestines, or what is mixed with bone."

143. ذلك جزينهم ببغيهم

143. That is a recompense for them for their wrongdoing.

144. وإنا لصادقون

144. And indeed, we are truthful.

145. فإن كذبوك فقل ربكم دو رحمة واسعة

145. So if they deny you, say, "Your Lord is the Possessor of vast mercy."

146. ولا يرد بأس عن القوم المجرمين

"And the might of the transgressing people will not be repelled."

147. سيقول الذين أشركوا لو شاء الله ما أشركنا ولا آباءنا

147. Those who associated others with Allah will say, "If Allah had willed, we would not have associated anything, neither we nor our forefathers."

148. ولا حرمنا من شيء

"And we were not deprived of anything."

149. كذلك كذب الذين من قبلهم حتى ذاقوا بأسنا

149. Likewise, those before them denied until they tasted Our punishment.

140. قل هل عندكم من علم فتخرجوه لنا

140. Say, "Do you have any knowledge that you could produce for us?"

141. إن تتبعون إلا الظن وإن أنتم إلا تخرصون

141. You follow nothing but conjecture, and you are not except for making guesses.

142. قل فلله الحجة البالغة

142. Say, "To Allah belongs the conclusive argument."

143. فلو شاء لهداكم أجمعين

143. If He had willed, He would have guided you all.

144. قل هلن شهداءكم الذين يشهدون أن الله حرم هذا

144. Say, "Have your witnesses who testify that Allah has forbidden this?"

145. فإن شهدوا فلا تشهد معهم

145. If they witness, do not bear witness with them.

146. ولا تتبع أهواء الذين كذبوا

146. And do not follow the desires of those who have lied.

147. بآياتنا والذين لا يؤمنون بالآخرة

With Our signs and those who do not believe in the Hereafter.

148. وهم بربهم يعدلون

148. And they associate others with their Lord.

149. قل تعالوا أتل ما حرم ربكم عليكم

"Say, 'Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you.'"

140. ألا تشركوا به شيئا وبالوالدين إحسانا

"Do not associate anything with Him, and be good to parents."

141. ولا تشركوا به شيئا وبالوالدين إحسانا

141. And do not associate anything with Him, and to parents, do good.

142. ولا تقتلوا أولادكم من إملاق

142. And do not kill your children for fear of poverty.

143. نحن نرزقكم وإياهم

143. We provide for you and for them.

144. ولا تقربوا الفواحش ما ظهر منها وما بطن

144. And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse, whether it is apparent or concealed.

145. ولا تقتلوا النفس التي حرم الله إلا بالحق

145. And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right.

146. ذلكم وصاكم به لعلكم تعقلون

146. That is what He has enjoined upon you so that you may understand.

147. ولا تقربوا مال اليتيم إلا بالتي هي أحسن حتى يبلغ أشده

147. And do not approach the property of the orphan except in a way that is best until he reaches maturity.

148. وأوفوا الكين والميزان بالقسط

148. And give full measure and weight in justice.

149. لا نكلف نفسا إلا وسعها

149. We do not burden a soul beyond its capacity.

140. وإذا قلتم فاعدلوا ولو كان ذا قربا

140. And when you speak, be just, even if it concerns a near relative.

141. وبعهد الله أوفوا

141. And fulfill the covenant of Allah.

142. ذلكم وصاكم به لعلكم

That is what He advises you, perhaps you will be mindful.

143. تذكرون

143. You remember.

144. وأن هذا صراطي مستقيما فاتبعوه

144. And this is My straight path, so follow it.

145. ولا تتبعوا السبل فتفرق بكم عن سبيله

145. And do not follow the paths, lest they separate you from His path.

146. ذلكم وصاكم به لعلكم تتقون

That is what He enjoined upon you so that you may become righteous.

147. ثم آتينا موسى

147. Then We gave Moses

148. ورسى الكتاب تماما على الذي أحسن وتفصيلا لكل شيء وهدى ورحمة لعلهم بلقاء ربهم يؤمنون

148. And the Book settled completely upon that which is best and detailed for everything, and guidance and mercy, so that perhaps they would believe in the meeting with their Lord.

149. وهذا كتاب أنزلناه مبارك فاتبعوه واتقوا لعلكم ترحمون

149. And this is a Book which We have revealed, blessed; so follow it and be mindful of [your duty to] Allah that you may receive mercy.

140. أنزلناه مباركا فاتبعوه واتقوا لعلكم ترحمون

140. We brought it down as a blessing, so follow it and fear (Allah) that you may receive mercy.

141. تقولوا إنما أنزل الكتاب على طائفتين من قبلنا وإن كنا عن دراستهم لغافلين

You say that the book was revealed to two groups before us, and we were indeed heedless of their study.

142. أو تقولون وأن أنزل علينا الكتاب لكنا أهدى منهم

142. Or do you say that if the Scripture had been sent down to us, we would have been more guided than they?

143. فقد جاءنا

143. For indeed, it has come to us.

144. أكون بينة من ربكم وهدى ورحمة فمن أظلم ممن كذب بآيات الله وصدف عنها سنجزي الذين يصدفون عن آياتنا سوء العذاب بما كانوا يصدفون

144. I will be a clear proof from your Lord and guidance and mercy; so who is more unjust than one who denies the signs of Allah and turns away from them? We will certainly punish those who turn away from Our signs with a severe punishment for what they used to turn away.

145. هل ينبغيون

145. Do they have to?

146. إلا أن تأتيهم الملائكة أو يأتي ربك أو يأتي بعض آيات ربك لا ينفع نفسا إيمانها لم تكن آمنت من قبل أو كسبت في إيمانها خيرا

146. Except when the angels come to them, or your Lord comes, or some of the signs of your Lord. A soul will not benefit from its faith if it had not believed before or earned good through its faith.

147. قل انتظروا إنا منتظرون

147. Say, "Wait, indeed we are waiting."

148. إن الذين فرقوا دينهم وكانوا شيعا لست منهم في شيء إنما ينظرهم إلى الله ثم ينبعهم بما كانوا يفعلون

148. Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects, you have no concern with them; their affair is only with Allah, then He will inform them of what they used to do.

149. من جاء بالحسنة فله عشر أمثالها ومن جاء بالسيئة فلا يجزى إلا مثلها وهم لا يظلمون

149. Whoever brings a good deed will receive ten times its like, and whoever brings a bad deed will not be recompensed except with its equivalent; and they will not be wronged.

140. قل إنني هداني ربي إلى صراط مستقيم دينا قيما ملة إبراهيم

140. Say, "Indeed, my Lord has guided me to a straight path, a true religion, the way of Abraham."

141. وما كان من المشركين

141. And from the polytheists.

142. قل إن صلاتي ونسكي ومحياي ومماتي لله رب العالمين

142. Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds."

143. لا شريك له وبذلك أمرت وأنا أول المسلمين

143. He has no partner, and thus I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims.

144. قل أغير الله يبغي ربا وهو رب كل شيء

Say, "Is there a deity other than Allah who could be sought as a lord while He is the Lord of all things?"

145. ولا تكسب كل نفس إلا عليها ولا تزر وازرة وزر أخرى ثم إلى ربكم نرجعكم فينبعكم بما كنتم فيه تختلفون

145. And no soul earns [any blame] except against itself, and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you concerning that in which you used to differ.

146. وهو الذي جعلكم خلائف الأرض ورفع بعضكم فوقه

146. And He it is who made you successors upon the earth and raised some of you above others.

147. وبعض درجات ليبلوكم فيما آتاكم إن ربك سريع العقاب وإنه لغفور رحيم

"And some degrees, to test you in what He has given you. Indeed, your Lord is swift in punishment, and indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful."
