عاشورا شعارنا كربلا أنارنا

Ashura is our slogan, Karbala has illuminated us.

وبالدماء نحن فداء يا حسين

"With our blood, we are a sacrifice for you, O Hussein."

صلى الله عليك يا سيدي

May peace be upon you, my master.

ويا يا يا مولاي

Oh my, oh my, my lord.

يا أبا

O father

يا عبد الله

O Abdullah

يا ابن رسول الله

O son of the Messenger of God.

يا رحمة الله الواسعة

O vast mercy of God.

ويا باب نجاة الأمة

O gate of the salvation of the nation.

ما خاب من تمسك بكم

Whoever holds onto you does not fail.

وأمنا من لجأ والتجأ إليكم

"And we protect whoever seeks refuge and turns to You."

يا يا ليتنا كنا يا يا معكم سادتي

Oh, how I wish we were with you, my masters.

فنفوز فوزا عظيم

And we will achieve a great victory.

ولزينبين

And for Zainab.

ندبون لفقد شقيقها

They mourn the loss of her brother.

تدعوه يا ابن الذين

You call him, O son of those who...

ذاكيات الركعين

The smart ones of the bowing (those who bow in prayer).

اليوم

Today

أصبغ في عزاك

I dye in your mourning.

وأذكبها طلعت الأدمعين

اليوم اليوم قادوني بظلم يا أخي

Today they led me to injustice, my brother.

والشمر ألمني

And the thorn hurt me.

وأطفأي

And turn it off.

يا أخي

Oh my brother.

يا يا يا يا يا يا يا يا يا يا الألية معي

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh, the mechanism is with me.

آية أنعم جواب

يا حسين ما ترى

يا شمر الخناب السهط

أيها السيدة تعالي

شمر الخناب السوط ألم

فأجابها

من فوق شاية

هقت القناة

I killed the channel.

فأجابها

The channel burned out.

قضي القضايا

The judge of judges.

وبما جرى

"And what has happened"

فاسترجعي

So retrieve.

وتكلمي

وتكفلي يا زينب

حال اليتم وانظري

ما كنت أصنع في حماهم

لما سقط أبي الحسين على رمضاء كربلا

خرجت عمتي زينب من الخيمة

My aunt Zainab left the tent.

تقوم تارة وتجلس أخرى

Sometimes she stands up and sometimes she sits down.

وتحث التراب على رأسها

And she stirred the dust on her head.

وهي تنادي وأخاه

And she is calling her brother.

وحسينا

And we felt.

آه آه آه

Ah ah ah

والد قل لد قعد يا خوي

Dad said to sit down, my brother.

وشوف حالي

And see my condition.

حالي الغريبة بغير والي

"My strange state is different from what it used to be."

أنا توني ذكرت عز ودلالي

I am Tony, I mentioned honor and pampering.

من قوض يويت ذيش الليالي

Who dismantled those nights?

وين وصلت إلى جسدي أبي عبد الله

Where did you reach on the body of my father Abdullah?

ولكن تقول أأنت الحسين أخي

But she says, "Are you Hussein, my brother?"

أأنت ابن والدي

Are you my father's son?

كأنها غير مصدقة مولاتي

It seems like my lady doesn't believe it.

لما ترى ما جرى على سيد الشهداء

When you see what happened to the master of the martyrs.

أخي أبا عبد الله

My brother Abu Abdullah

أقسم عليك بجدي رسول الله

I swear to you by my grandfather, the Messenger of God.

إلا ما كلمتني يا نور عيني

Except for when you spoke to me, oh light of my eyes.

أبو عبد الله الحسين مشغول بجراحاته

Abu Abdullah Al-Hussein is preoccupied with his wounds.

ما أجابها

He did not respond to her.

أخي أبا عبد الله

My brother Abu Abdullah

أقسم عليك بأبي علي

I swear to you by my father Ali.

جابت لي اسم

She gave me a name.

بعد الحسين ما تحمل هذا الاسم

After Hussein, this name is not carried.

شنو قلت لي

قالت أخي أبا عبد الله

She said, "My brother, Abu Abdullah."

أقسم عليك بأمي فاطمة

I swear to you by my mother Fatima.

إلا ما كلمتني يا نور عيني

تحرك الحسين من مكانه

Hussein moved from his place.

وإذا به يقول لها

And suddenly he said to her.

أخي يا زينب لقد كسرتي قلبي

My brother, Zainab, you have broken my heart.

آية مسح الدم والتراب

The verse of wiping away blood and dust.
