قل إن هدى الله هو الهدى

Say, "Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the true guidance."

يا أيها الذين آمنوا اتقوا الله والتنظر نفس ما قلت لكم

O you who have believed, fear Allah and let every soul look to what it has brought forth for tomorrow.

يا أيها الذين آمنوا اتقوا الله والتنظر نفس ما قدمت لغني

O you who have believed, fear Allah and let every soul look to what it has brought forth for tomorrow.

واتقوا الله

And fear Allah.

إن الله خبير بما تعملون

Indeed, Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

وَلَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ نَسُوا اللَّهَ فَأَنسَاهُمْ أَنفُسَهُمْ أُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْفَارِعِينَ

And do not be like those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves. It is they who are the defiantly disobedient.

وَلَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ نَسُوا اللَّهَ فَأَنفُسَهُمْ أَنفُسَهُمْ أَنفُسَهُمْ أَنفُسَهُمْ

And do not be like those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves.

أصحاب الجنة هم الفائزون

The companions of Paradise are the winners.

لَوْ أَنْزَلْنَا هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى جَبَهٍ لَرَأَيْتَهُ خَاشِعًا مُتَصَدِّعًا مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ

If We had sent down this Quran upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled, crumbling in fear of Allah.

وَتِلْكَ الْأَمْثَالُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلْنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

And these are the examples We set forth for the people that perhaps they may reflect.

وَتِلْكَ

And those

الأمثال نغربها للنيس لعلهم يتفكرون

"Proverbs are shared with people so that perhaps they may reflect."

الله أكبر

God is the Greatest.

نزلنا هذا القرآن على جبل لرأيته خاشعا متصدعا من خشية الله

If We had sent down this Quran upon a mountain, you would have seen it humble and split apart from the fear of Allah.

وتلك الأمثال نغربها للناس لعلهم يتفكرون

And these examples We relate to the people so that perhaps they will give thought.

لو أنزلنا هذا القرآن على جبل لرأيته

If We had sent down this Qur'an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humble itself.

نزلنا هذا القرآن على جبل لرأيته خاشعا متصدعا من خشية الله

If We had sent down this Quran upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and splitting apart from the fear of Allah.

الله أكبر

God is the Greatest.

وتلك الأمثال نغربها للناس لعلهم يتفكرون

And these examples We present to the people so that perhaps they may reflect.

والله الذي لا إله إلا هو عالم الغيب والشهادة هو الرحمن الرحيم هو الله

By Allah, there is no deity except Him, the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, He is the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, He is Allah.

أكرم الذي علم بالقلم علم الإنسان ما لم يعلم

"Read in the name of your Lord who created. He created man from a clinging substance. Read, and your Lord is the most Generous—Who taught by the pen—taught man that which he knew not."

كلا إن الإنسان ليقرأ الله استغنى

No, indeed, man becomes self-sufficient by relying on God.

إن إلى ربك الرجع

Indeed, to your Lord is the return.

أرأيت الذي يمنى عبدا إذا صل

"Did you see the one who denies the servant when he prays?"

أرأيت

Did you see?

إن كان على الهدى أو أمر بالتقوى

If he is on guidance or commanded to be righteous.

أرأيت إن كذب وتولى

"Did you see if he denied and turned away?"

ما لم يعلم

What is not known

إذا صل

If he prayed.

أرأيت إن كان على الهدى أو أمر بالتقوى

"Did you see if he is on guidance or enjoins righteousness?"

ولا الضالين ألف لامين

"Nor the misled. A. L. M."

غير الموضوب عليهم ولا الضالين ألف لامين

"Not of those who have earned Your anger, nor of those who go astray. A, L, M."

والذين يؤمنون بالغيب ويقيمون الصلاة ومما رزقناه ينفقون

"And those who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them."

آمنا الرسول فيما أنزل إليه من ربه والمؤمنون

The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and (so have) the believers.

كلنا مدف الله وملائكته وكتبه ورسوله

We all believe in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers.

لا نفرق بين أحدين

We do not differentiate between anyone.

وقالوا سمعنا وأطرنا غفرانك ربنا وإليك المصير

And they said, "We have heard and we obey. Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the final destination."

لا يكلف الله نفسا إلا وسعها

Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear.

وقالوا سمعنا وأطرنا غفرانك ربنا وإليك المصير

And they said, "We have heard and we obey. Forgive us, our Lord, and to You is the final destination."

لها ما كسبت وعليها ما اكتسبت

"To her is what she earned, and upon her is what she acquired."

ربنا لا تواخذنا إن نسينا واخطرنا

Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or made a mistake.

ولا تحمل علينا إصرا كما حمنته على الذين من قلنا

"And do not impose upon us a burden as you imposed upon those before us."

ربنا ولا تحملنا ما لا طاقة لنا به

Our Lord, do not burden us with that which we have no capability to bear.

وعفو عنا واغفر لنا وارحمنا

And pardon us and forgive us and have mercy on us.

أنت مولانا فانصرنا

You are our Lord, so help us.

على القوم الكافرين

Upon the disbelieving people.

صدق الله العظيم

God, the Almighty, has spoken the truth.
