ارهاصات ومبشرات بقدوم الرسول محمد صل الله عليه وسلم

لقد صانه الله وحماه منذ صغره

God has preserved and protected him since he was young.

وطهره من دنس الجاهلية ومن كل عيب

And purify him from the filth of ignorance and from all defects.

ومنحه كل خلق جميل

And He granted him all beautiful attributes.

حتى لم يكن يعرف بين قومه إلا بالأمين

He was known among his people only as the trustworthy.

ولما أرادت قريش تجديد بناء الكعبة

When the Quraysh wanted to rebuild the Kaaba.

اختلفوا في من يضع الحجر الأسود

They disagreed about who should place the Black Stone.

فانتظروا أول من يمر عليهم

So wait for the first one who passes by them.

فكان هو صلى الله عليه وسلم

So he was, peace be upon him.

فقالوا جاء الأمين

They said, "The trustworthy one has come."

فأمر بثوب فوضع الحجر في وسطه

So he ordered a garment and placed the stone in its middle.

وأمر كل قبيلة أن ترفع من أحد جوانب الثوب

"And he commanded every tribe to lift one side of the garment."

ثم أخذ الحجر فوضعه موضعه صلى الله عليه وسلم

Then he took the stone and placed it in its position, may peace be upon him.

والإرهاصات هي البشارات والأمور الخارقة للعادة

The signs are the tidings and extraordinary matters.

التي يحدثها الله عز وجل للنبي

"Which God Almighty brings to the Prophet."

تبشيرا بنبوته قبل مجيئه وبعثته

Proclaiming his prophecy before his coming and mission.

ومن أشد هذه الإرهاصات والمبشرات وضوحا

"Among the most evident of these signs and glad tidings."

هذه المعجزة التي حفظتها

This miracle that I have preserved.

الله بها الكعبة وما حولها من جيش أبرهة الحبشي

God protected the Kaaba and its surroundings from the army of Abraha the Abyssinian.

إذ أرسل عليهم الطير الأبابيل

"When He sent against them birds in flocks."

التي ترميهم بالحجارة المحمى

"That throws them with heated stones."

فأتت على الجيش وسحقته

So it came upon the army and crushed it.

وما كانت أبدا تلك الكرامة لمشرك قريش عباد الأوثان

And that honor was never for the polytheists of Quraysh, the worshippers of idols.

وإنما هي كرامة واضحة

It is nothing but a clear honor.

للتمهيد لمولد أعظم موحد على وجه الأرض

To prepare for the birth of the greatest unifier on the face of the earth.

فحفظه الله وهو في بطن أمه

"May God preserve him while he is in his mother's womb."

وحفظ الله قبله وحفظه أمه

And may God protect his father and his mother.

وقبلته وقبلة أمته

"And his kiss is the kiss of his nation."

وبيت الحجيج الأعظم

And the house of the greatest pilgrimage.

قال ابن كثير

Ibn Kathir said.

هذه من النعم التي امتنى الله بها على قريش

This is one of the blessings that God bestowed upon Quraysh.

فيما صرف عنهم من أصحاب الفيل

As for what was diverted from them from the companions of the elephant.

الذين كانوا قد عزموا على هدم الكعبة

Those who had intended to demolish the Kaaba.

ومحوا أثارها من الوجود

"And they erased its traces from existence."

فأبادهم الله

So God annihilated them.

وأرغم آنافهم

And he forced their nostrils.

وخيب سعيهم

And their efforts were thwarted.

وأضل عملهم

And their deeds were rendered astray.

وردهم بشر خيبة

Their return was a disappointment.

وكانوا قوما نصارى

And they were a people of Christians.

وكان دينهم وردهم بشر خيبة

And their religion and their response were nothing but disappointment.

ودينهم إذ ذاك أقرب حالا مما كان عليه قريش من عبادة الأصنام

"And their religion at that time was closer in condition to what Quraysh was practicing concerning the worship of idols."

ولكن كان هذا من باب الإرهاص والتوطئة لمبعث رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

But this was a precursor and preparation for the mission of the Messenger of God, peace be upon him.

فإنه في ذلك العام ولد على أشهر الأقوال

In that year, he was born according to the most famous opinions.

وقال ابن تيمية

Ibn Taymiyyah said.

وكان جيران البيت مشركين يعبدون الأوثان

The neighbors of the house were polytheists who worshiped idols.

ودين النصارى خير من دينهم

The religion of the Christians is better than their religion.

فعلم بذلك أن هذه الآية لم تكن لأجل جيران البيت حينئذ

It is therefore known that this verse was not intended for the neighbors of the house at that time.

كانت لأجل البيت

It was for the sake of the house.

أو لأجل النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم

Or for the sake of the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family.

الذي ولد في ذلك العام عند البيت

He who was born that year at the house.

أو لمجموعهما

Or for their total.

وأي ذلك كان

And whichever it was.

فهو من دلائل نبوته

It is one of the signs of his prophethood.

نور يخرج من حمل أمه به

Light comes from the womb of his mother.

عن لقمان بن عامر قال سمعت أبا أمامة يقول

About Luqman ibn Amir, he said: I heard Abu Umamah say.

قلت يا نبي الله

I said, O Prophet of God.

ما كان أول بدء أمرك

What was the beginning of your affair?

لنعم أنا دعوة أبي إبراهيم

Yes, I am the call of my father Ibrahim.

وبشرى عيسى

And the good news of Jesus.

ورأت أمي حين حملت بي

My mother saw when she was pregnant with me.

أنه خرج منها نور أضاء لها قصور الشام

"A light emerged from it that illuminated the palaces of Sham."

قال ابن كثير قوله

Ibn Kathir said his statement.

كان مناما رأته حين حملت به

It was a dream she had when she was pregnant with him.

وقصته على قومها فشاع فيهم

And she told her story to her people, and it spread among them.

واشتهر بينهم

And he became famous among them.

وكان ذلك توطئة

And that was an introduction.

وقال ابن رجب

Ibn Rajab said.

خروج هذا النور عند وضعه

The emergence of this light when it is placed.

إشارة إلى ما يجيء به من النور

A reference to what comes with light.

الذي يجعله يتعلمه

What makes him learn it.

الذي اهتدى به أهل الأرض

"The one whom the people of the earth have been guided by."

وأزال به ظلمة الشرك منها

"And He removed the darkness of polytheism from it."

كما قال تعالى في سورة المائدة

As Allah Almighty said in Surah Al-Ma'idah.

قد جاءكم من الله نور وكتاب مبين

Indeed, there has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book.

يهدي به الله من اتبع رضوانه

"With it, Allah guides whoever follows His pleasure."

سبل السلام ويخرجهم منه

The paths of peace and brings them out of it.

ويخرجهم من الظلمات إلى النور بإذنه

And He brings them out of darkness into light by His permission.

ويهديهم إلى صراط مستقيم

And guides them to a straight path.

وقال تعالى في سورة الأعراف

And Allah the Exalted said in Surah Al-A'raf.

فالذين آمنوا به وعزروه ونصرواه

So those who believed in him and honored him and supported him.

واتبعوا النور الذي أنزل معه

And follow the light that was sent down with him.

أولئك هم المفلحون

They are the successful ones.

ظهور نجم أحمد في السماء

The appearance of Ahmed's star in the sky.

هاجر اليهود إلى مكة والمدينة

The Jews emigrated to Mecca and Medina.

ينتظرون ولده

They are waiting for his son.

ويجادت النبي الخاتم أحمد صلى الله عليه وسلم

And the virtues of the final prophet, Ahmad, peace be upon him.

الموجودة أوصافه في التورة

His descriptions are found in the Torah.

قال تعالى في سورة الصف

Allah, the Almighty, said in Surah As-Saff.

وإذ قال عيسى بن مريم يا بني إسرائيل

And when Jesus, son of Mary, said: O Children of Israel

إني رسول الله إليكم مصدقا

I am the Messenger of God to you, confirming.

مصدقا لما بين يدي من التواصل

Confirming what is in front of me from the communication.

ومبشرا برسول يأتي من بعد اسمه أحمد

"And giving good news of a Messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad."

فلما جاءهم بالبينات

So when he came to them with clear signs.

قالوا هذا سحر مبين

They said, "This is clear magic."

قال ابن كثير في تفسيره لهذا السورة

Ibn Kathir said in his interpretation of this chapter.

هذه الآية يعني

This verse means.

التوراة قد بشرت بي

"The Torah has prophesied about me."

وأنا مصداق ما أخبرت عنه

And I am the truth of what you have informed about.

وأنا مبشر بمن بعدي

"And I am a herald for those who come after me."

وهو الرسول النبي الأمي العربي المكي أحمد

He is the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, the Arab from Mecca, Ahmad.

فعيسى عليه السلام هو خاتم أنبياء بني إسرائيل

Jesus, peace be upon him, is the last of the prophets of the Children of Israel.

قد قام في ملأ بني إسرائيل مبشرا بمحمد

He stood among the children of Israel as a bearer of good news about Muhammad.

وهو أحمد خاتم الأنبياء والمرسلين

He is Ahmad, the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers.

الذي لا رسالة بعده ولا نبيه

"The one after whom there is no messenger or prophet."

ونجم أحمد هو نجم لامع في السماء

Ahmed is a shining star in the sky.

له خصائص تختلف عن غيره من النجوم

It has characteristics that differ from other stars.

وقد عرف به اليهود أن أحمد خاتم الأنبياء قد ولد

The Jews have known that Ahmad, the Seal of the Prophets, has been born.

روى ابن إسحاق عن حسان بن ثابت رضي الله عنه قال

Ibn Ishaq narrated from Hassan bin Thabit, may Allah be pleased with him, said…

والله إني لغلام يفعه أي شبا ولم يبلغ

"By God, I am indeed a young boy who has not yet reached adulthood."

ابن سبع سنين أو ثمان أعقل كل ما سمعت

A boy of seven or eight years old understands everything he hears.

يهوديا يصرخ بأعلى صوته على أطمة حصن بيثرب

A Jew is shouting at the top of his voice at the ruins of the fortress of Banu Qaynuqa.

يا معشر يهود حتى إذا اجتمعوا إليه قالوا له

O assembly of Jews, when they gathered around him, they said to him.

ويلك مالك قال طلع الليلة نجم أحمد

Woe to you, why did you say tonight the star of Ahmed has risen?

الذي ولد به وعن أسامة بن زيد رضي الله عنه قال

"Who was born with him, and from Osama ibn Zaid, may Allah be pleased with him, he said..."

قال زيد بن عمرو بن فيل قال لي حبر من أحبار الشام

Zayd ibn Amr ibn Fail said: A scholar from the scholars of Sham said to me.

قد خرج في بلدك نبي

A prophet has emerged in your country.

أو هو خارج قد خرج نجمه فارجع فصدقه واتبعه

Or he is outside, his star has risen, so return and believe him and follow him.

خرج به عبد المطلب حتى أتى به وهب بن عبد مناف بن زهرة

Abdul Muttalib took him until he brought him to Wahb ibn Abd Manaf ibn Zuhrah.

بن كلاب بن مرة بن كعب بن لؤي بن غانب بن فهر

Bin Kilab bin Murrah bin Ka'ab bin Lu'ay bin Ghanab bin Fihr.

خرج به عبد المطلب حتى أتى به وهب بن عبد مناف بن زهرة

Abdul Muttalib took him out until he brought him to Wahb ibn Abd Manaf ibn Zuhrah.

وهو يومئذ سيد بني زهرة نسبا وشرفا

"And on that day, he will be the leader of Banu Zahra in lineage and honor."

فزوجه ابنته آمنة بنت وهب وهي يومئذ أفضل امرأة في قريش نسبا وموضعا

He married his daughter Amina bint Wahb, who at that time was the best woman in Quraysh in terms of lineage and status.

ذكر ما قيل لآمنة عند حملها برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

It was said to Amina when she was pregnant with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

فيما يتحدث الناس والله أعلم أن آمنة بنت وهب أم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

While people talk, and Allah knows best, Amina bint Wahb is the mother of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

حين حملت برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

When I was pregnant with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

فقيل لها إنك قد حملت بسيد هذه الأمة

It was said to her that you have conceived the leader of this nation.

فإذا وقع إلى الأرض فقولي أعيذه بالواحد من شر كل حاسد

So when it falls to the ground, say, "I seek refuge with the One from the evil of every envious person."

ثم سميه محمدا

Then name him Muhammad.

ورأت حين حملت به أنه خرج منها نور رأت به قصور بصرى من أرض الشام

"And she saw when she became pregnant with him that a light emerged from her through which she saw the palaces of Busra in the land of Sham."

ثم لم يلبث عبد الله بن عبد المطلب أبو رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

Then, Abdullah bin Abdul Muttalib, the father of the Messenger of Allah, may peace be upon him, did not remain.

أنهلك وأم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم حامل به

"Should we perish while the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, is carrying it?"

قال ابن إسحاق

Ibn Ishaq said.

ولد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يوم الاثنين

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was born on a Monday.

لاثنتي عشرة ليلة خلت منه

Twelve nights have passed since it.

من شهر ربيع الأول عام الفيل

From the month of Rabi' al-Awwal in the Year of the Elephant.

قال ابن إسحاق حدثني المطلب بن عبد الله بن قيس

Ibn Ishaq said, Al-Mutalib ibn Abdullah ibn Qais informed me.

بن مخرمة عن أبيه عن جده قيس بن مخرمة

"Bin Mukharramah from his father from his grandfather Qais bin Mukharramah."

قال ولدت أنا ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عام الفيل

He said, "I was born in the Year of the Elephant along with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him."

فنحن لدان

So we are in debt.

نسبه صلى الله عليه وسلم

His lineage, peace be upon him.

هو محمد بن عبد الله بن عبد المطلب

He is Muhammad, the son of Abdullah, the son of Abdul Muttalib.

بن هاشم بن عبد مناف بن قصي بن كلاب

Banu Hashim ibn Abdul Manaf ibn Qusay ibn Kilab

بن مرة بن كعب بن لؤي

Bin Murra bin Ka'ab bin Lu'ay.

بن غالب بن فهر بن مالك بن النطر

Bin Ghalib bin Fehr bin Malik bin Al-Natir

بن كنانة بن خزيمة

Bin Kinana bin Khuzaymah

بن مدركة بن إلياس بن مضر

Ben Mudrikah Ben Ilyas Ben Mudar

بن نزار بن معد بن عدنان

The son of Nizar, the son of Ma'ad, the son of Adnan.

وعدنان بن إسماعيل عليه السلام

And Adnan bin Ismail, peace be upon him.

واسماعيل بن خليل الله إبراهيم عليه السلام

And Ismail, the son of the friend of God, Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon him.

أسماؤه صلى الله عليه وسلم

His names, peace be upon him.

محمد وأحمد

Mohammed and Ahmed.

الماخي الذي يمح الله به الكفر

The one who erases disbelief with God's mercy.

الحاشر الذي يحشر الناس على قدميه

The gatherer who gathers people on their feet.

العاقب الذي ليس بعده أحد

The successor after whom there is no one.

طهارة نسبه صلى الله عليه وسلم

The purity of his lineage, peace be upon him.

ولد صلى الله عليه وسلم من نكاح صحيح

He was born from a legitimate marriage.

يقول صلى الله عليه وسلم

He says, peace be upon him.

إن الله عز وجل

Indeed, Allah, the Exalted.

اصطفى من ولد إبراهيم إسماعيل

He chose from the descendants of Abraham, Ishmael.

واصطفى من إسماعيل كنانة

"And He chose from Ishmael, Kinanah."

واصطفى من بني كنانة قريشا

"And He chose from the descendants of Kinana, Quraysh."

واصطفى من قريش بني هاشم

"And he chose from Quraysh the Banu Hashim."

واصطفاني من بني هاشم

"And He chose me from the Children of Hashim."

وحينما سئل هرقل أبا سفيان

And when Heracles asked Abu Sufyan

عن نسب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال

Regarding the lineage of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, it was said.

هو فينا ذو نسب

He among us has lineage.

فقال هرقل

Heraclius said.

كذلك الرسل تبعث في نسب قومها

The messengers are also sent from among their own people's lineage.

أرضعته ثويبة مولاة أبي لهب أياماً

Thuwaiba, the freed slave woman of Abu Lahab, nursed him for a few days.

ثم حليمة السعدية

Then Halima al-Sa'diyah.

وأقام عندها في بني سعد

And he stayed with her in Banu Sa'd.

نحواً من أربع سنين

About four years.

وشق عن فؤاده هناك

"And it was split open his heart there."

واستخرج منه حظ النفس والشيطان

"And extract from it the portion of the self and the devil."

فردته حليمة إلى أمه إثر ذلك

Halimah returned him to his mother after that.

ماتت أمه بالأبواء

His mother died at Al-Abwa.

وهو ابن ست سنين

He is six years old.

وحضنته أم أيمن وهي مولاته

And Umm Ayman hugged him, being his protector.

ورثها من أبيه

He inherited it from his father.

وكفله جده عبد المطلب

His grandfather Abdul Muttalib took care of him.

فلما بلغ صلى الله عليه وسلم

When he reached, peace be upon him.

من العمر ثماني سنين

Eight years old.

توفي جده

His grandfather passed away.

وأوصى به عمه أبي طالب

And his uncle Abu Talib recommended him.

فكفله

So he took care of him.

وحاطه أتم حياطه

"And I have surrounded it with complete protection."

ونصره وآزره

And He supported him and aided him.

حين بعثه الله أعز نصر

When God sent him, it was a glorious victory.

وأتم مؤازرة

And complete support.

مع أنه كان مستمراً على شركه

Although he was persisting in his polytheism.

إلى أن مات

Until he died.

فخفف الله بذلك من عذابه

So Allah alleviated His punishment because of that.

كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

ليس بالطويل ولا بالقصير

It is neither long nor short.

أبيض بياضاً مشرباً بحمره

White with a tinge of red.

أشعر أدعج العينين

I feel like a person with beautiful, dark eyes.

أي شديد ثوادهما

"Any intense regret"

أجرد أي لا يغطي الشعر صدره وبطنه

He is bare, meaning that the hair does not cover his chest and abdomen.

ذو مسربه

Having a passage.

أي له شعر يكون في وسط الصدر والبطن

What hair is there in the middle of the chest and abdomen?

زواجه صلى الله عليه وسلم

His marriage, peace be upon him.

تزوجته خديجة وله خمس وعشرون سنة

Khadijah married him when he was twenty-five years old.

وماتت قبل الليل

And she died before the night.

وماتت قبل الهجرة بثلاث سنين

And she died three years before the migration.

ولم يتزوج غيرها حتى ماتت

And he did not marry anyone else until she died.

ثم تزوج سودة بنت زمعة

Then he married Sawda bint Zam'a.

ثم عائشة

Then Aisha.

ولم يتزوج بكراً غيرها

And he did not marry any other virgin.

ثم تزوج حفصة بنت عمران بن الخطاب

Then he married Hafsa, the daughter of Umar ibn al-Khattab.

ثم زينب بنت خزيمة

Then Zainab bint Khuzayma.

ثم أم سلمة

Then Um Salama.

ثم زينب بنت جحش

Then Zainab bint Jahsh.

ثم جويرية بنت الحارث

Then Juwayriyyah bint al-Harith.

ثم أم حبيبة

Then Umm Habiba.

ثم صفية بنت حيين بن أخطب

Then Safiyyah, the daughter of Hayy ibn Akhtab.

ثم ميمونة بنت الحارث

Then Maimunah bint al-Harith.

أولاده صلى الله عليه وسلم

His children, peace be upon him.

كان أولاده صلى الله عليه وسلم من ذكر وأنثى

His children, peace be upon him, were both male and female.

من خديجة بنت خويلد

From Khadija bint Khuwailid.

إلا إبراهيم

Except for Abraham.

فإنها من مارية القبطية

For she is from Maria the Copt.

التي أهداها له المقوقس

"which was gifted to him by the Muquqis"

فالذكور من ولده القاسم

The males among his offspring are from Al-Qasim.

وبه كان يكنى

And by him, he was known.

وعاش أياماً يسيرة

And he lived for a few days.

والطاهر والطيب

The pure and the good.

وقيل ولدت له عبد الله في الإسلام

It is said that Abdullah was born to him in Islam.

فلقب بالطاهر والطيب

He was given the titles of the Pure and the Good.

أما إبراهيم فولد بالمدينة

As for Ibrahim, he was born in the city.

وعاش عامين غير شهرين

And he lived for two years minus two months.

ومات قبله صلى الله عليه وسلم

And he died before him, peace be upon him.

بثلاثة أشهر

In three months.

بناته صلى الله عليه وسلم

His daughters, peace be upon him.

زينب وهي أكبر بناته

Zainab, who is his eldest daughter.

وتزوجها أبو العاص بن الربيع

Abu al-As ibn al-Rabi married her.

وهو ابن خالتها

He is her cousin.

ورقية

Paper

تزوجها عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه

Othman ibn Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, married her.

وفاطمة

And Fatima.

تزوجها علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه

Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, married her.

فأنجبت له الحسن والحسين

She gave birth to him Hassan and Hussein.

سيدة شباب أهل الجنة

The Lady of the Youths of Paradise.

وأم كلثوم

And Umm Kulthum

تزوجها عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه

She was married to Uthman ibn Affan, may Allah be pleased with him.

بعد وفاة رقية

After the death of Ruqayyah.

رضي الله عنهن جميعاً

May Allah be pleased with them all.

فقالوا جاء الأمين فأمر بثوب فوضع الحجر في وسطه

They said, "The trustworthy one has come," and he ordered a cloth to be brought, so the stone was placed in its center.

وأمر كل قبيلة أن ترفع من أحد جوانب الثوب

And he ordered each tribe to lift one side of the garment.

ثم أخذ الحجر فوضعه موضعه صلى الله عليه وسلم

Then he took the stone and placed it in its place, peace be upon him.

والإرهاصات هي البشارات والأمور الخارقة للعادة

التي يحدثها الله عز وجل للنبي تبشيرا بنبوته قبل مجيئه وبعثته

The revelations that God Almighty sends to the Prophet as good tidings of his prophethood before his coming and mission.

ومن أشد هذه الإرهاصات والمبشرات وضوحا حادثة الفيل

One of the most obvious signs and glad tidings is the event of the elephant.

هذه المعجزة التي حفظ الله بها الكعبة وما حولها من جيش أبرهة الحبشي

This miracle by which God safeguarded the Kaaba and its surroundings from the army of Abraha the Ethiopian.

إذ أرسل عليه مطير الأبابيل

"When He sent against them a storm of stones."

التي ترميهم بالحجارة المحماه فأتت على الجيش وسحقته

"Which throws them with heated stones, and it came upon the army and crushed it."

وما كانت أبدا تلك الكرامة لمشرك قريش عباد الأوثان

And that dignity was never meant for the polytheists of Quraysh, the worshippers of idols.

وإنما هي كرامة واضحة للتمهيد لمولد أعظم موحد على وجه الأرض

It is, in fact, a clear honor to pave the way for the birth of the greatest unifier on the face of the earth.

فحفظه الله وهو في بطن أمه

So God preserved him while he was in his mother's womb.

وحفظ الله قبلته وقبلة أمته وبيت الحجيج الأعظم

May God protect His Qibla, the Qibla of His Ummah, and the House of the Greatest Pilgrims.

قال ابن كثير

Ibn Kathir said.

فيما صرف عنهم من أصحاب الفيل

As for what was diverted from them by the companions of the elephant.

الذين كانوا قد عزموا على هدم الكعبة ومحوا أثارها من الوجود

Those who had resolved to demolish the Kaaba and erase its traces from existence.

فأبادهم الله

So God annihilated them.

وكان دينهم إذ ذاك أقرب حالا مما كان عليه قريش من عبادة الأصنام

At that time, their religion was closer in nature to what the Quraysh practiced in idol worship.

ولكن كان هذا من باب الإرهاصات

But this was a matter of precursors.

والتوطئة لمبعث رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The introduction to the mission of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

فإنه في ذلك العام ولد على أشهر الأقوال

In that year, he was born according to the most famous opinions.

وقال ابن تيمية

Ibn Taymiyyah said.

وكان جيران البيت مشركين يعبدون الأوثان

And the neighbors of the house were polytheists who worshiped idols.

ودين النصارى خير من دينهم

And the religion of the Christians is better than their religion.

فعلم بذلك أن هذه الآية لم تكن لأجل جيران البيت حينئذ

It is thus understood that this verse was not intended for the neighbors of the house at that time.

بل كانت لأجل البيت

But it was for the sake of the house.

أو لأجل النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم

Or for the sake of the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family.

الذي ولد في ذلك العام

He who was born in that year.

أو لمجموعهما

Or for their sum.

وأي ذلك كان

And which of that was it?

فهو من دلائل نبوته

It is one of the signs of his prophethood.

نور يخرج من حمل أمه به

Light emerges from the carrying of his mother.

عن لقمان بن عامر قال سمعت أبا أمامة يقول

About Luqman bin Amir, I heard Abu Umamah say.

قلت يا نبي الله ما كان أول بدء أمرك

I said, O Messenger of Allah, what was the beginning of your affair?

قال نعم أنا دعوة أبي إبراهيم

He said, "Yes, I am the invocation of my father Abraham."

وبشرى عيسى

And the glad tidings of Jesus.

ورأت أمي حين حملت بي

My mother saw when she was pregnant with me.

أنه خرج منها أمي

He came out of it, my mother.

وقال لها نور أضاء لها قصور الشام

He said to her, "A light illuminated for her the palaces of Sham."

قال ابن كثير قوله

Ibn Kathir said his statement.

كان مناما رأته حين حملت به

It was a dream she saw when she was pregnant with him.

وقصته على قومها فشاع فيهم

And he told his story to his people, and it spread among them.

واشتهر بينهم

And he became well-known among them.

وكان ذلك توطئة

And that was a prelude.

وقال ابن رجب

Ibn Rajab said.

خروج هذا النور عند وضعه

The emergence of this light when it is placed.

إشارة إلى ما يجيء به من النور الذي اهتدى به أهل الأرض

A reference to the light that the people of the earth have been guided by.

وأزال به ظلمة الشرك منها

"And He removed the darkness of polytheism from it."

كما قال تعالى في سورة المائدة

As Allah, the Exalted, said in Surah Al-Ma'idah.

قد جاءكم من الله نور وكتاب مبين

A light has come to you from Allah and a clear Book.

يهدي به الله من اتبع رضوانه سبل السلام

"With it, Allah guides whom He wills to follow His pleasure to the ways of peace."

ويخرجهم من الظلمات إلى النور بإذنه

And He brings them out of darkness into light by His permission.

ويهديهم إلى صراط مستقيم

And guides them to a straight path.

وقال تعالى في سورة الأعراف

And Allah, the Exalted, said in Surah Al-A'raf.

فالذين آمنوا به وعزروه ونصروه

So those who believed in him, honored him, and supported him.

واتبعوا النور الذي أنزل معه

"And follow the light that was sent down with him."

أولئك هم المفلحون

They are the successful ones.

وقال تعالى في سورة الصف

And Allah says in Surah As-Saff.

وإذ قال عيسى بن مريم يا بني إسرائيل

And when Jesus, son of Mary, said: O Children of Israel.

إني رسول الله إليكم مصدقا

I am the messenger of Allah to you, confirming.

مصدقا لما بين يدي من التوراة

Confirming what is in front of me from the Torah.

ومبشرا برسول يأتي من بعده

"And giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me."

واسمه أحمد

And his name is Ahmad.

فلما جاءهم بالبينات

So when he came to them with clear proofs.

قالوا هذا سحر مبين

They said, "This is clear magic."

قال ابن كثير في تفسيره لهذه الآية

Ibn Kathir said in his interpretation of this verse.

يعني التوراة قد بشرت بي

It means that the Torah has prophesied about me.

وأنا مصداق ما أخبرت عنه

And I am a testament to what you have informed about.

وأنا مبشر منه

And I am a preacher of it.

وهو الرسول النبي الأمي العربي المكي أحمد

He is the messenger, the unlettered Arab prophet from Mecca, Ahmad.

فعيسى عليه السلام هو خاتم أنبياء بني إسرائيل

Indeed, Jesus (peace be upon him) is the last of the prophets of the Children of Israel.

قد قام في ملأ بني إسرائيل مبشرا بمحمد

He stood among the children of Israel as a bearer of good news of Muhammad.

وهو أحمد خاتم الأنبياء والمرسلين

He is Ahmad, the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers.

الذي لا رسالة بعده ولا نبوة

He is the one after whom there is no messenger or prophet.

ونجم أحمد هو نجم لامع في السماء

And the star Ahmad is a shining star in the sky.

له خصائص تختلف عن غيره من أحلامه

It has characteristics that differ from his other dreams.

من النجوم

From the stars

وقد عرف به اليهود أن أحمد خاتم الأنبياء قد ولد

The Jews have known that Ahmad, the Seal of the Prophets, has been born.

روى ابن إسحاق عن حسان بن ثابت رضي الله عنه قال

Ibn Ishaq narrated from Hassan ibn Thabit, may Allah be pleased with him, who said:

والله إني لغلام يفعه

"By God, I am indeed a young boy."

أي شبا ولم يبلغ

What a shame, and he hasn't reached it.

ابن سبع سنين أو ثمان

A boy of seven or eight years.

أعقل كل ما سمعت

I understand everything I heard.

إذ سمعت يهوديا يصرخ بأعلى صوته على أطمة

I heard a Jew shouting at the top of his voice at a trash heap.

حسن بيثرب

Hassan in Yathrib.

يا معشر يهود

O assembly of Jews

حتى إذ اجتمعوا إليه قالوا له

"When they gathered around him, they said to him."

ويلك مالك

Woe to you, what's wrong with you?

قال طلع الليلة نجم أحمد

Tonight the star of Ahmed has risen.

الذي ولد به

The one with whom he was born.

وعن أسامة بن زيد رضي الله عنه قال

"Regarding Usama bin Zaid, may Allah be pleased with him, he said..."

قال زيد بن عمر بن نفيل

Zayd ibn Umar ibn Nufayl said.

قال لي حبر من أحبار الشام

A scholar from the scholars of Syria said to me.

قد خرج في بلدك نبي

A prophet has emerged in your country.

أو هو خارج

Or he is outside.

قد خرج نجمه

His star has risen.

فارجع فصدقه واتبعه

So return and believe him, and follow him.

سوج عبد الله من آمنة بنت وهب

Abdullah was the son of Amina bint Wahb.

خرج به عبد المطلب

Abdul Muttalib took him out.

حتى أتى به وهب

Until Wahb brought him.

بن عبد مناف بن زهره

Abd Manaf ibn Zuhra

بن كلاب بن مرة

Ben Kulab ben Murrah

بن كعب بن لؤي

The son of Ka'b ibn Lu'ay.

بن غانب بن فهر

Bin Ghanab bin Fahl

خرج به عبد المطلب

Abdul Muttalib took him out.

حتى أتى به وهب

Until Wahb brought him.

بن عبد مناف بن زهره

Abd Manaf ibn Zuhra

وهو يومئذ

And it is a day then.

سيد بني زهرة

Mr. Bani Zahra

آمنة بنت وهب وهي يومئذ أفضل امرأة في قريش نسبا وموضعا

Amina bint Wahb, who at that time was the best woman in Quraysh in terms of lineage and stature.

ذكر ما قيل لآمنة عند حملها برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

It was mentioned what was said to Amina when she was pregnant with the Messenger of God, peace be upon him.

فيما يتحدث الناس والله أعلم

While people are talking, and God knows best.

أن آمنة بنت وهب أم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

Amina bint Wahb is the mother of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

كانت تحدث أنها أتيت حين حملت برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

She used to say that she came when she was pregnant with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

فقيل لها إنك قد حملت بسيد هذه الأمة

It was said to her that you are pregnant with the leader of this nation.

فإذا وقع إلى الأرض فقولي أعيذه بالواحد من شر كل حاسد

"When it falls to the ground, say: I seek protection for it with the One from the evil of every envious person."

ثم سميه محمدا

Then name him Muhammad.

ورأت حين حملت به أنه خرج منها نور

And she saw when she became pregnant with him that a light came out from her.

رأت به قصور بصرة من أرض الشام

She saw in him the palaces of Basra from the land of Sham.

ثم لم يلبث عبد الله بن عبد المطلب أبو رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أنهلك

Then soon Abdullah bin Abdul Muttalib, the father of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, passed away.

وقال لها أمه

He said to her, "His mother."

وأم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم حامل به

And the mother of the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, was pregnant with him.

قال ابن إسحاق

Ibn Ishaq said.

ولد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يوم الاثنين

The Messenger of God, peace be upon him, was born on a Monday.

لاثنتي عشرة ليلة خلت من شهر ربيع الأول عام الفيل

Twelve nights have passed since the month of Rabi' al-Awwal in the Year of the Elephant.

قال ابن إسحاق

Ibn Ishaq said.

حدثني المطلب بن عبد الله بن قيس بن مخرمة عن أبيه عن جده قيس بن مخرمة

Al-Mutalib bin Abdullah bin Qais bin Makhramah told me from his father, from his grandfather Qais bin Makhramah.

قال ولدت أنا ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عام الفيل فنحن لدان

He said, "I was born in the year of the elephant, the same year as the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, so we are contemporaries."

نسبه صلى الله عليه وسلم

The lineage of the Prophet, peace be upon him.

هو محمد بن عبد الله بن عبد المطلب بن هاشم

He is Muhammad, son of Abdullah, son of Abdul Muttalib, son of Hashim.

بن عبد مناف بن قصيدة

Son of Abd Manaf, son of Qusai.

بن كلاب

Son of dogs.

بن مرة بن كعب بن لؤي

Bin Murrah bin Ka'ab bin Lu'ay.

بن غالب بن فهر بن مالك بن النطر

Bin Ghalib bin Fahr bin Malik bin Al-Natr

بن كنانة بن خزيمة

The son of Kinana, son of Khuzaymah.

بن مدركة بن إلياس بن مضر

Bin Mudrikah bin Ilyas bin Mudar

بن نزار بن معد بن عدنان

Son of Nazar bin Ma'ad bin Adnan.

وعدنان ابن إسماعيل عليه السلام

And Adnan is the son of Ismail, peace be upon him.

واسماعيل ابن خليل الله إبراهيم عليه السلام

And Ishmael, the son of the friend of God, Abraham, peace be upon him.

أسماؤه صلى الله عليه وسلم

His names, peace be upon him.

محمد وأحمد

Mohammed and Ahmed

الماحي الذي يمح الله به الكفر

The one who erases disbelief by which God obliterates.

الحاشر الذي يحشر الناس على قدميه

The gatherer who collects people on their feet.

العاقب الذي ليس بعده أحد

The ultimate one after whom there is no other.

طهارة نسبه صلى الله عليه وسلم

The purity of the lineage of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

ولد صلى الله عليه وسلم من نكاح صحيح

He was born, peace be upon him, from a legitimate marriage.

يقول صلى الله عليه وسلم

He (peace and blessings be upon him) says.

إن الله عز وجل

Indeed, Allah, the Almighty

اصطفى من ولد إبراهيم إسماعيل

He chose from the descendants of Abraham, Ishmael.

واصطفى من إسماعيل كنانة

And He chose from Ismail Kinanah.

واصطفى من بنيه

And He chose from among his sons.

واصطفى من بني كنانة قريشا

"And He selected from the descendants of Kinana, Quraysh."

واصطفى من قريش بني هاشم

And He chose from Quraysh the Banu Hashim.

واصطفاني من بني هاشم

"And He chose me from the descendants of Hashim."

وحينما سئل هرقل أبا سفيان

And when Heraclius asked Abu Sufyan.

عن نسب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

About the lineage of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

قال

He said.

هو فينا ذو نسب

He is of noble lineage among us.

فقال هرقل

Heraclius said.

كذلك الرسل تبعث في نسب قومها

The messengers are also sent from the lineage of their people.

أرضعته ثويبة مولاة أبي لها بأياما

Thuweiba, the maid of Abu Lahab, breastfed him during his early days.

ثم حليمة السعدية

Then Halima Al-Sa'diyah.

وأقام عندها في بني سعد

And he stayed with her in Banu Sa'ad.

نحوا من أربع سنين

About four years.

وشق عن فؤاده هناك

"And he split open his heart there."

واستخرج منه حظ النفس والشيطان

"And extract from it the share of the self and the devil."

فردته حليمة إلى أمه إثر ذلك

Halima returned him to his mother after that.

ماتت أمه بالأبواء

His mother died in Al-Abwa.

وهو ابن ست سنين

He is six years old.

وحضنته أم أيمن وهي مولاته

And Umm Ayman embraced him, she who was his mistress.

ورثها من أبيه

He inherited it from his father.

وكفله جده عبد المطلب

And his grandfather Abdul Muttalib took care of him.

فلما بلغ صلى الله عليه وسلم من العمر ثماني سنين

When he صلّى الله عليه وسلّم reached the age of eight years.

توفي جده

His grandfather passed away.

وأوصى به أن يتعلمه

And he recommended that it be learned.

أمه أبي طالب

The mother of Abu Talib.

فكفله

So he took care of him.

وحاطه أتم حياطه

"And I have surrounded it with complete protection."

ونصره وآزره حين بعثه الله أعز نصر

And he supported and aided him when God sent him, in the greatest victory.

وأتم مؤازرة

And complete support.

مع أنه كان مستمرا على شركه إلى أن مات

Although he continued in his polytheism until he died.

فخفف الله بذلك من عذابه

And thus Allah alleviated His punishment.

كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

ليس بالطويل ولا بالقصير

It is neither long nor short.

أبيض بياضا مشربا بحمده

White, with a shade of praise.

أشعر أدعج العينين

I feel like a person with beautiful, dark eyes.

أي شديد ثوادهما

How intense their darkness is.

أجرد

strip

أي لا يغطي الشعر صدره وبطنه

Which does not cover his chest and belly with hair.

ذو مسربه

Having a channel

أي له شعر يكون في وسط الصدر والبطن

What hair is in the middle of the chest and abdomen?

زواجه صلى الله عليه وسلم

His marriage, peace be upon him.

تزوجته خديجة وله خمس وعشرون سنة

Khadija married him when he was twenty-five years old.

وماتت قبل الهجرة بثلاث سنين

And she died three years before the migration.

ولم يتزوج غيرها حتى ماتت

And he did not marry anyone else until she died.

ثم تزوجه

Then he married her.

ثم تزوج سودة بنت زمعة

Then he married Sawda bint Zam'a.

ثم عائشة

Then Aisha.

ولم يتزوج بكرا غيرها

And he did not marry any virgin other than her.

ثم تزوج حفصة بنت عمران بن الخطاب

Then he married Hafsa, the daughter of Umar ibn al-Khattab.

ثم زينب بنت خزيمة

Then Zaynab bint Khuzaymah.

ثم أم سلمة

Then Umm Salamah.

ثم زينب بنت جحش

Then Zainab bint Jahsh.

ثم جويرية بنت الحارث

Then Juwayriyyah bint al-Harith.

ثم أم حبيبة

Then Umm Habiba.

ثم صفية بنت حيين بن أخطب

Then Safiya, the daughter of Huyein bin Akhtab.

ثم ميمونة بنت الحارث

Then Maimuna bint al-Harith.

أولاده صلى الله عليه وسلم

His children, peace be upon him.

كان أولاده صلى الله عليه وسلم

His children, peace be upon him.

من ذكر وأنثى

From male and female.

من خديجة بنت خويلد

From Khadijah bint Khuwaylid

إلا إبراهيم

Except for Abraham.

فإنها من مارية القبطية

For she is from Maria the Coptic.

التي أهداها له المقوقس

"Which was gifted to him by the Muqawqas."

فالذكور من ولده

The males among his offspring.

القاسم

Al-Qasim

وبه كان يكنى

And he was known by that name.

وعاش أياما يسيره

And he lived for a few days.

والطاهر والطيب

The pure and the good.

وقيل ولدت له عبد الله في الإسلام

It was said that he was born to him, Abdullah, in Islam.

فلقب بالطاهر والطيب

He was titled Al-Tahir (the Pure) and Al-Tayyib (the Good).

أما إبراهيم

As for Ibrahim

فولده من قبله

"His child from him."

ولد بالمدينة

Born in the city.

وعاش عامين غير شهرين

He lived for two years minus two months.

ومات قبله صلى الله عليه وسلم

And he died before him, may peace be upon him.

بثلاثة أشهر

In three months.

بناته صلى الله عليه وسلم

His daughters, may peace be upon him.

زينب وهي أكبر بناته

Zainab, who is his eldest daughter.

وتزوجها أبو العاص بن الربيع

And Abu Al-Aas bin Al-Rabi married her.

وهو ابن خالتها

He is her cousin.

ورقية

Paper

تزوجها عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه

Othman bin Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, married her.

وفاطمة

And Fatima

تزوجها عليها

He married her as a second wife.

رضي الله عنه

May Allah be pleased with him.

فأنجبت له الحسن والحسين

She gave birth to him Hasan and Husayn.

سيدة شباب أهل الجنة

The lady of the youth of Paradise.

وأم كلثوم

And Umm Kulthum

تزوجها عثمان بن عفان

Othman ibn Affan married her.

رضي الله عنه

May Allah be pleased with him.

بعد وفاة رقيه

After the death of Ruqayyah.

رضي الله عنهن جميعا

May Allah be pleased with all of them.

قصص الأنبياء كما وردت في القرآن

The stories of the prophets as mentioned in the Quran.

فالدال على الخير كفاعله

"The one who guides to good is like the one who does it."

لقد صانه الله وحماه منذ صغره

God has protected and preserved him since he was young.

وطهره من دنس الجاهلية

"And cleanse him from the filth of ignorance."

ومن كل عيب

And from every flaw.

ومنحه كل خلق جميل

And He gave him every beautiful creation.

حتى لم يكن يعرف بين قومه

He was not even known among his people.

إلا بالأمين

Except with the trustworthy.

ولما أرادت قريش تجديد بناء الكعبة

When the Quraysh wanted to rebuild the Kaaba.

اختلفوا في من يضع الحجر الأسود

They disagreed on who should place the Black Stone.

فانتظروا أول من يمر عليهم

So wait for the first one who passes by them.

فكان هو صلى الله عليه وسلم

He was, peace be upon him.

فقالوا جاء الأمين

They said, "The trustworthy one has arrived."

فأمر بثوب

He ordered a garment.

فوضع الحجر في وسطه

So he placed the stone in its midst.

وأمر كل قبيلة أن ترفع من أحد جوانب الثوب

And he commanded each tribe to lift from one side of the garment.

ثم أخذ الحجر فوضعه موضعه

Then he took the stone and placed it in its position.

صلى الله عليه وسلم

Peace be upon him.

لا تنسوا الاشتراك في القناة

Signs and indications before the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

والإرهاصات هي البشارات والأمور الخارقة للعادة

The harbingers are the glad tidings and extraordinary matters.

التي يحدثها الله عز وجل

"Which is caused by God Almighty."

وجل للنبي

Fear for the Prophet

تبشيرا بنبوته قبل مجيئه وبعثته

Proclaiming his prophecy before his coming and mission.

ومن أشد هذه الإرهاصات والمبشرات وضوحا

One of the most evident of these signs and good tidings.

حادثة الفيل

The incident of the elephant.

هذه المعجزة

This miracle.

التي حفظ الله بها الكعبة وما حولها

"By which God has protected the Kaaba and its surroundings."

من جيش أبرهة الحبشي

From the army of Abraha the Abyssinian.

إذ أرسل عليهم الطير الأبابيل

"When He sent against them birds in flocks."

التي ترميهم بالحجارة المحمى

"Which throws them with heated stones."

فأتت على الجيش وسحقته

"It fell upon the army and crushed it."

وما كانت أبداً

And it never was.

كالكرامة لمشرك قريش عباد الأوثان

Like the dignity of the polytheist idolaters of Quraysh.

وإنما هي كرامة واضحة

"It is only a clear honor."

للتمهيد لمولد أعظم موحد على وجه الأرض

To pave the way for the birth of the greatest unifier on the face of the Earth.

فحفظه الله وهو في بطن أمه

So Allah preserved him while he was in his mother’s womb.

وحفظ الله قبلته وقبلة أمته

May God preserve His Qibla and the Qibla of His Ummah.

وبيت الحجيج الأعظم

And the House of the Greatest Pilgrimage.

قال ابن كثير

Ibn Kathir said.

هذه من النعم التي امتنى الله بها على قريش

This is one of the blessings that God bestowed upon Quraysh.

فيما صرف عنهم من أصحاب الفيل

As for what was diverted from them by the companions of the elephant.

الذين كانوا قد عزموا على هدم الكعبة

Those who had decided to demolish the Kaaba.

ومحوا أثارها من الوجود

"And they erased its traces from existence."

فأبادهم الله

So God annihilated them.

وأرغم آنافهم

"And he forced their noses."

وخيب سعيهم

And their efforts were in vain.

وأضل عملهم

And their deeds have gone astray.

وردهم بشر خيبة

Their return was with disappointment.

وكانوا قوماً نصارى

And they were a people of Christians.

وكان دينهم إذ ذاك أقرب حالاً

And their religion at that time was in a better state.

مما كان عليه قريش من عبادة الأصنام

From what Quraysh used to do in worshiping idols.

ولكن كان هذا من باب الإرهاص

But this was a form of premonition.

والتوطئة لمبعث رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

And the prelude to the mission of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

فإنه في ذلك العام

In that year

ولد على أشهر الأقوام

Born to the most famous of peoples.

وقال ابن تيمية

Ibn Taymiyyah said.

وكان جيران البيت مشركين

And the neighbors of the house were polytheists.

يعبدون الأوثان

They worship idols.

ودين النصارى خير من دينهم

The religion of the Christians is better than their religion.

فعلم بذلك

So he became aware of that.

أن هذه الآية لم تكن لأجل جيران البيت حينئذ

That this verse was not for the neighbors of the house at that time.

بل كانت لأجل البيت

But it was for the sake of the house.

أو لأجل النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم

Or for the sake of the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family.

الذي ولد في ذلك العام عند البيت

The one who was born that year near the house.

أو لمجموعهما

Or their total.

وأي ذلك كان

And which of that was it?

فهو من دلائل نبوته

It is one of the signs of his prophethood.

نور يخرج من حمل أمه به

Light emerges from the burden of his mother.

عن لقمان بن عامر قال

About Luqman ibn Amir, he said:

سمعت أبا أمامة يقول

I heard Abu Umama say.

قلت يا نبي الله

I said, O Prophet of God.

ما كان أول بدء أمرك

What was the beginning of your affair?

قال نعم

He said yes.

أنا دعوة أبي إبراهيم

I am the supplication of my father Ibrahim.

وبشرى عيسى

And the good news of Jesus.

ورأت أمي حين حملت بي

My mother saw when she was pregnant with me.

أنه خرج منها نور

A light came out of it.

أضاء لها قصور الشام

The palaces of the Levant illuminated for her.

قال ابن كثير قوله

Ibn Kathir said: "His saying"

كان مناما رأته حين حملت بهه

It was a dream she saw when she was pregnant with him.

وقصته على قومها

"And he told his story to his people."

فشاع فيهم

So it spread among them.

واشتهر بينهم

And he became famous among them.

وكان ذلك توطئة

And that was a prelude.

وقال ابن رجب

Ibn Rajab said.

خروج هذا النور عند وضعه

The emergence of this light when it is placed.

إشارة إلى ما يجيء به من النور

A reference to what it brings forth of light.

الذي اهتدى به أهل الأرض

The one whom the people of the earth were guided by.

وأزال به ظلمة الشرك منها

"And He removed the darkness of polytheism from it."

كما قال تعالى في سورة المائدة

As Allah Almighty said in Surah Al-Ma'idah.

قد جاءكم من الله الله

You have received from Allah, Allah.

وكتاب مبين

"And a clear book."

يهدي به الله من اتبع رضوانه

"Allah guides whom He wills to follow His pleasure."

سبل السلام

Paths of Peace

ويخرجهم من الظلمات إلى النور بإذنه

And He brings them out of darkness into light by His permission.

ويهديهم إلى صراطه

And He guides them to His path.

ويهديهم إلى صراط مستقيم

And guides them to a straight path.

وقال تعالى في سورة الأعراف

And Allah, the Exalted, said in Surah Al-A'raf.

فالذين آمنوا به وعزروه ونصروه

So those who believed in him, honored him, and supported him.

واتبعوا النور الذي أنزل معه

And follow the light that was sent down with him.

أولئك

Those

أولئك هم المفلحون

They are the successful ones.

قال تعالى في سورة الصف

Allah, the Almighty, said in Surah As-Saff.

إسرائيل إني رسول الله إليكم مصدقا

Israel, I am the messenger of God to you, confirming.

مصدقا لما بين يدي من التوراة ومبشرا برسول يأتي من بعد اسمه أحمد

Confirming what is before me of the Torah and giving good news of a messenger who will come after me, his name is Ahmad.

فلما جاءهم بالبينات قالوا هذا سحر مبين

When he came to them with clear signs, they said, "This is obvious sorcery."

قال ابن كثير في تفسيره لهذه الآية

Ibn Kathir said in his interpretation of this verse.

يعني التوراة قد بشرت بي وأنا مصداق ما أخبرت عنه وأنا مبشر بمن بعدي

The Torah has foretold my coming, and I am the confirmation of what it has reported about, and I am a messenger of one to come بعدي.

وهو الرسول النبي

And he is the Messenger, the Prophet.

الرسول النبي الأمي العربي المكي أحمد

The Messenger, the unlettered Arab Prophet, Ahmad.

فعيسى عليه السلام هو خاتم أنبياء بني إسرائيل

So Jesus, peace be upon him, is the last of the prophets of the Children of Israel.

قد قام في ملأ بني إسرائيل مبشرا بمحمد وهو أحمد خاتم الأنبياء والمرسلين

He stood among the assembly of the Children of Israel, announcing the coming of Muhammad, who is Ahmad, the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers.

الذي لا رسالة بعده ولا نبوة

"The one after whom there is no message or prophecy."

ونجم أحمد هو نجم لامع في السماء

Ahmad is a shining star in the sky.

له خصائص تختلف عن غيره من النجوم

It has characteristics that distinguish it from other stars.

وقد عرف به اليوم

It has become known today.

أن أحمد خاتم الأنبياء قد ولد

That Ahmed, the Seal of the Prophets, was born.

روى ابن إسحاق عن حسان بن ثابت رضي الله عنه قال

Ibn Ishaq narrated from Hassan ibn Thabit, may Allah be pleased with him, who said:

والله إني لغلام يفعه

By God, I am indeed a young man in my prime.

أي شبا ولم يبلغ

Any net that has not been reached.

ابن سبع سنين أو ثمان

A seven or eight-year-old boy.

أعقل كل ما سمعت

Understand all that you have heard.

إذ سمعت يهوديا يصرخ بأعلى صوته على أطمة

"When you hear a Jew shouting at the top of his voice about a problem."

حسن بيثرب

Hasan in Yathrib.

يا معشر يهود

O gathering of Jews

حتى إذا اجتمعوا إليه قالوا ليه

When they gathered around him, they said to him.

ويلك مالك

What is wrong with you?

قال طلع الليلة نجم أحمد

Tonight, the star of Ahmed has appeared.

الذي ولد به

He was born with it.

وعن أسامة بن زيد رضي الله عنه قال

Regarding Usama ibn Zaid, may Allah be pleased with him, he said:

قال زيد بن عمرو بن نفيل

Said Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl.

قال لي حبر من أحبار الشام

A scholar from the scholars of Shaam said to me.

قد خرج في بلدك نبي

A prophet has emerged in your country.

أو هو خارج

Or is he outside?

قد خرج نجمه

His star has risen.

فارجع فصدقه واتبع

"So return and believe, and follow."

زواج عبد الله من آمنة بنت وزوجة

The marriage of Abdullah to Amina bint Wazujah.

وهب

Gift

خرج به عبد المطلب

Abdul Muttalib took him out.

حتى أتى به وهب

Until Wahb brought him.

بن عبد مناف بن زهرة

Ben Abdul Manaf Ben Zahra

بن كلاب بن مرة بن كعب بن لؤي

The son of Kulab, the son of Murra, the son of Ka'b, the son of Lu'ay.

بن غانب بن فهر

Bin Ghanab bin Fahir

خرج به عبد المطلب

Abdul Muttalib took him out.

حتى أتى به وهب

Until Wahb brought him.

بن عبد مناف بن زهرة

Bin Abdul Manaf bin Zahra

وهو يومئذ

And on that day

سيد بني زهرة نسبا وشرفا

A noble master of the Bani Zahra lineage and honor.

فزواجه ابنته

His daughter's marriage.

آمنة بنت وهب

Amina bint Wahb

وهي يومئذ

And on that day

أفضل ومحبية

Better and more affectionate.

امرأة في قريش نسبا وموضعا

A woman from Quraysh by lineage and location.

ذكر ما قيل لآمنة عند حملها

What was said to Amina when she was pregnant.

برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

With the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

فيما يتحدث الناس

While people are talking.

والله أعلم

And Allah knows best.

أن آمنة بنت وهب

That Amina bint Wahb

أم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The mother of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

كانت تحدث

She was talking.

أنها أتيت حين حملت

She came when she was carrying.

برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

With the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

فقيل لها

It was said to her.

إنك قد حملت

You have carried.

بسيد هذه الأمة

"With the master of this nation."

فإذا وقع إلى الأرض فقولي

"If it falls to the ground, say..."

أعيذه بالواحد من شر كل حاسد

"I seek refuge in the One from the evil of every envious person."

ثم سميه محمدا

Then name him Muhammad.

ورأت حين حملت به

And she saw when she was pregnant with him.

أنه خرج منها نور

A light came out of it.

رأت به قصور بصرى

She saw the palaces of Bosra.

من أرض الشام

From the land of the Levant.

ثم لم يلبث عبد الله بن عبد المطلب

Then Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib did not delay.

أبو رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The father of the Messenger of Allah, may peace be upon him.

أنهلك

Are we going to perish?

وأم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

And the mother of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.

حامل به

Pregnant with it.

ولادة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The birth of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.

ورضاعته

And his breastfeeding.

قال ابن إسحاق

Ibn Ishaq said.

ولد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was born.

يوم الإثنين

Monday

لاثنتي عشرة ليلة

Twelve nights.

خلت من شهر ربيع الأول

It is the month of Rabi' al-Awwal.

عام الفيل

The Year of the Elephant

قال ابن إسحاق

Ibn Ishaq said.

حدثني المطلب بن عبد الله بن قيس

Al-Mutalib bin Abdullah bin Qais told me.

بن مخرمة عن أبيه عن جهة

Bin Makhramah from his father about Jihah.

ولده قيس بن مخرمة

His son Qais bin Makhramah.

قال ولدت أنا ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

He said, "I was born at the same time as the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him."

عام الفيل

The Year of the Elephant

فنحن لدان

So we are like that.

نسبه صلى الله عليه وسلم

The lineage of the Prophet, peace be upon him.

هو محمد بن عبد الله بن عبد المطلب بن هاشم

He is Muhammad, son of Abdullah, son of Abdul Muttalib, son of Hashim.

بن عبد مناف بن قصي بن كلاب

The son of Abd Manaf, son of Qusai, son of Kilab.

بن مرة بن كعب بن لؤي

Bin Murrah bin Kab bin Lu'ay

بن غالب بن فهر بن مالك بن النطر

Bin Ghalib bin Fahr bin Malik bin Al-Natar

بن كنانة بن خزيمة

The son of Kinana, son of Khuzaymah.

بن مدركة بن إلياس بن مضر

Ben Mudrikah, son of Ilyas, son of Mudar.

بن نزار بن معد بن عدنان

The son of Nizar, the son of Ma'ad, the son of Adnan.

وعدنان ابن إسماعيل عليه السلام

And Adnan is the son of Ismail (peace be upon him).

واسماعيل ابن خليل الله إبراهيم عليه السلام

And Ishmael, the son of God's Friend, Abraham, peace be upon him.

أسماؤه صلى الله عليه وسلم

His names, peace be upon him.

محمد وأحمد

Mohammed and Ahmed

الماحي الذي يمح الله به الكفر

The eraser with which Allah erases disbelief.

الحاشر الذي يحشر الناس على قدميه

The gathered one who gathers people on their feet.

العاقب الذي ليس بعده أحد

The ultimate one after whom there is no one.

المقفي نبي التركي

Al-Muqafi, the Turkish prophet.

الثوبة نبي الرحمة

The robe is the Prophet of Mercy.

صلاة وفك الرسولks

Prayer and the Messenger's wisdom.

الطهارة نسبه صلى الله عليه و سلم

Purity, the relationship of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

رئيس النباتين

Head of the botanists

ولد صلى الله عليه وسلم من نكاح صحيح

He was born from a legitimate marriage.

لاد صلى الله عليه وسلم

May peace be upon him.

يقول صلى الله عليه وسلم

He says, peace be upon him.

إن الله عز وجل

Indeed, Allah, the Exalted.

استفى من ولدي إبراهيم إسماعيل

He chose from my son Ibrahim Ismail.

واستفى من إسماعيل كنانة

And Kinanah is the descendant of Ismail.

وحينما سئل هرقل أبا سفيان عن نسب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال

"When Heraclius asked Abu Sufyan about the lineage of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, he said."

هو فينا ذو نسب

He is among us of noble lineage.

فقال هرقل كذلك الرسل تبعث في نسب قومها

Heraclius said, "Thus messengers are sent regarding the lineage of their people."

أرضعته ثويبة مولاة أبي لهب أياما

Thuwaiba, the maid of Abu Lahab, nursed him for a few days.

ثم حليمة السعدية وأقام عندها في بني سعد

Then Halima Al-Sa'diya, and he stayed with her among the Banu Sa'd.

نحوا من أربع سنين

About four years.

وشق عن فؤاده هناك

And it was split open from his heart there.

واستخرج منه حظ النفس والشيطان

"And extract from it a portion for the self and the devil."

فردته حليمة إلى أمه إثر ذلك

Halima returned him to his mother after that.

ماتت أمه بالأبواء وهو ابن ست سنين

His mother died in Abwa while he was six years old.

وحضنته أم أيما وهي مولاته ورثها من أبيه

And he was embraced by Umm Ayma, his mistress, who inherited her from his father.

وكفله جده عبد المطلب

And his grandfather Abdul Muttalib took care of him.

فلما بلغ صلى الله عليه وسلم من العمر ثماني سنين

When he صلى الله عليه وسلم reached the age of eight years.

توفي جده وأوصى به عمه أبي طالب فكفله

His grandfather passed away, and his uncle Abu Talib took care of him as per the grandfather's wishes.

وحاطه أتم حياطه

"And she is fully surrounded."

ونصره وآزره حين بعضه

And he supported him and helped him when he needed him.

وأعثه الله أعز نصر

"And God granted him the most honorable victory."

وأتم مؤازرة مع أنه كان مستمرا على شركه إلى أن مات

And he continued to support him even though he remained committed to his partnership until he died.

فخفف الله بذلك من عذابه

So God lightened His punishment because of that.

كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

ليس بالطويل ولا بالقصير

It is neither long nor short.

أبيض بياضا مشربا بحمره

White with a tinge of redness.

أشعر أدعج العينين

I feel like a deep-eyed person.

أي شديد سوادهما

"How intense is their darkness."

أجرد أي لا يغطي الشعر صغيرا

"Any hair does not cover is small."

فلما بلغ صدره وبطنه

When it reached his chest and abdomen.

ذو مسربه

Of a corridor.

أي له شعر يكون في وسط الصدر والبطن

"Is there any hair that is in the middle of the chest and abdomen?"

زواجه صلى الله عليه وسلم

His marriage, may peace be upon him.

تزوجته خديجة وله خمس وعشرون سنة

Khadija married him when he was twenty-five years old.

وماتت قبل الهجرة بثلاث سنين

She died three years before the migration.

ولم يتزوج غيرها حتى ماتت

And he did not marry anyone else until she died.

ثم تزوج سودة بنت زمعة

Then he married Sawda bint Zam'a.

ثم عائشة ولم يتزوج بكرا غيرها

Then Aisha, and he did not marry another virgin after her.

ثم حفصة بنت عمران بن الخطاب

Then Hafsa, the daughter of Umar ibn al-Khattab.

ثم زينب بنت خزيمة

Then Zainab bint Khuzaimah.

ثم أم سلمة

Then Umm Salama.

ثم زينب بنت جحش

Then Zainab bint Jahsh.

ثم جويرية بنت الحارث

Then Juwayriyyah bint al-Harith

ثم أم حبيبة

Then Um Habibah.

ثم صفية بنت حيين بن أخطب

Then Safiyya, daughter of Huyayy ibn Akhtab.

ثم ميمونة بنت الحارث

Then Maimouna bint al-Harith.

أولاده صلى الله عليه وسلم

His children, peace be upon him.

كان أولاده صلى الله عليه وسلم من ذكر وأنثى

His children, peace be upon him, were both male and female.

من خديجة بنت خويلد

From Khadijah bint Khuwaylid

إلا إبراهيم

Except for Ibrahim.

فإنها من مارية القبطية

For she is from Maria the Copt.

التي أهداها له المقوقس

The one that was gifted to him by the Muqawqis.

فالذكور من ولده القاسم

The males from his offspring are al-Qasim.

وبه كان يكنا

"And with it, we used to be called."

وعاش أياما يسيرة

And he lived for a few days.

والطاهر والطيب

The pure and the good.

وقيل ولدت له عبد الله في الإسلام

It was said that he had a son named Abdullah during the time of Islam.

فلقب بالطاهر والطيب

So he was nicknamed the Pure and the Good.

أما إبراهيم فولد بالمدينة

As for Ibrahim, he was born in the city.

وعاش عامين غير شهرين

He lived for two years minus two months.

ومات قبله صلى الله عليه وسلم

And he died before him, peace be upon him.

ثلاثة أشهر

Three months

بناته صلى الله عليه وسلم

His daughters, peace be upon him.

زينب وهي أكبر بناته

Zainab, who is his eldest daughter.

وتزوجها أبو العاص بن الربيع وهو ابن خالتها

Abu al-As ibn al-Rabi married her, and he is her cousin.

ورقية تزوجها عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه

Ruqayyah was married to Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him).

وفاطمة تزوجها علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه

And Fatima was married to Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him.

فأنجبت له الحسن والحسين سيد شباب أهل الجنة

She gave birth to him to Hassan and Hussein, the masters of the youth of Paradise.

وأم كلثوم تزوجها عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه بعد وفاة رقية رضي الله عنهن جميعا

Um Kulthum was married to عثمان بن عفان (Uthman ibn Affan) may Allah be pleased with him after the death of رقية (Ruqayyah) may Allah be pleased with them all.
