The Calamity

ما القارعة

What is the calamity?

وما أدراك ما القارعة

And what can make you know what the Striking Calamity is?

يوم يكون الناس كالفراش المبثوث

The day when people will be like scattered moths.

وتكون الجبال كالعهن المنفوش

And the mountains will be like wool fluffed up.

فأما من ثقلت موازينه فهو في عيشة راضية

As for those whose scales are heavy, they will be in a state of blissful life.

وأما من خفت موازينه فأمه هاوية

"As for those whose scales are light, their mother is Hell."

وما أدراك ما هي نار حامية

And what will make you know what is the blazing fire?
