في مقابل ما أمر الله تعالى به من التسامح بين الناس وإفشاء العفو والصفح

In contrast to what Allah, the Exalted, has commanded regarding tolerance among people and fostering forgiveness and pardon.

فإن هناك أمور منعت الشريعة من العفو فيها أو التسامح بها

There are matters for which the Sharia prohibits forgiveness or leniency.

كالشرك بالله والبدع وسائر المنكرات

Like associating partners with God, innovations, and other wrongdoing.

فإن التسامح والعفو والصفح لا يدخل في هذا الباب

Forbearance, forgiveness, and pardon do not fall into this category.

وذلك أن الله تعالى أرجب على من رأى منكرا أن يغيره وينكرا على صاحبه بحسب قدرته

This is because God Almighty has made it obligatory for anyone who sees wrongdoing to change it and to denounce it to its owner according to their ability.

ويبغر فيه ذلك المنكر

And that immorality becomes widespread in it.

كما قال الله جل وعلا

As Allah, exalted and majestic, said.

وَإِنْ تَكُنْ مِنْكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ

And if there should be a group of you calling to goodness and enjoining what is right...

وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ

And they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and it is they who are the successful.

ورتب على موالاة أهل الشرك نفي الإيمان

"Establishing loyalty to the people of polytheism results in the denial of faith."

كما قال سبحانه لا تجد قوما يؤمنون بالله واليوم الآخر

As He, the Exalted, said, "You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day..."

يوادون من حد الله ورسوله

They oppose the limits set by Allah and His Messenger.

وهكذا لا تجد أهل الإيمان الصحيح

Thus, you will not find the people of true faith.

يوالون موالاة مطلقة من كل وجه

They are absolutely loyal in every aspect.

أهل البدع وأهل المعاصي الظاهرة

The people of innovations and the people of apparent sins.

فإن أهل المعاصي والبدع من أهل التوحيد

The people of sins and innovations are of the people of monotheism.

يوالون على ما معهم من الإيمان

They are loyal to what they have of faith.

ويحبون على ما معهم من الإيمان والتوحيد

"And they love what they have of faith and monotheism."

ويبغضون من وجههم وهو الوجه الذي معهم من المعاصي والبدع

And they dislike from their faces, which is the face they have due to sins and innovations.

وليس لهم الولاء المطلق

And they do not have absolute loyalty.

عباد الله إن التسامح والعفو والصفح

O servants of God, indeed forgiveness, pardon, and absolution...

إنما يكون مشروعا وفاضلا

It is only permissible and virtuous.

فيما كان من الحقوق الخاصة

As for private rights.

أما ما كان للحق الله تعالى

As for what was for the truth, it is for Allah, the Exalted.

فإنما رد ذلك إلى شرع الله

"Indeed, that is returned to the law of God."

لا إلى ما استحسبته العقول

No to what the minds have presumed.

التي أوهنتها أمراض الهوى والجهالة

"Which was weakened by the diseases of passion and ignorance."

إن الشريعة أمرت أن تكون الدعوة إلى الله

Indeed, Sharia has commanded that the call to Allah should be made.

والأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر

Enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong.

بالحكمة والموعظة الحسنة وبالجدال بالتي هي أحسن

"With wisdom and good admonition, and debate in ways that are best."

فإنما أمر الله تعالى به من عداء أهل الشرك والكفر

"Indeed, what Allah, the Exalted, has commanded is enmity towards the people of polytheism and disbelief."

وبغض ما عليه أهل البدع والفسوق

"And despite what the people of innovation and sin are upon."

ولكن المحظور هو الذي يراد عن أمر الله تعالى

But the prohibited is that which is intended against the command of Allah, the Most High.

بالمعاداة والبراء من أهل الكفر والشرك

With enmity and disavowal of the people of disbelief and polytheism.

وعما أمر الله تعالى به من بغض ما عليه أهل الفسوق وأهل البدع

Regarding what Allah, the Exalted, has commanded concerning the disdain for what the people of immorality and innovation adhere to.

بحجة أن الله تعالى أمر بالتسامح وأمر بالعفو وأمر بالصفح

On the pretext that God Almighty commanded forgiveness, commanded pardon, and commanded overlooking.

فإن هذا من لبس الحق

This is a distortion of the truth.

وتحريب الكلم عن مواضعه والله المستعان

"And distorting words from their proper places, and Allah is the One sought for help."

وهم قل الناس فيما بقي

And they are few in number in what remains.

لا سيما في هذه الأزمان المتاخرة

Especially in these recent times.

التي صار الإسلام فيها غريبا

In which Islam has become strange.

فإن الحق لا يعرف بالرجال

The truth is not known by men.

وإنما يعرف الرجال بالحق

"Men are only known by the truth."

قال علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه

Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, said.

لمن قال له أترى أن نرى الزبير وطلحة مخطئين

To whom did he say, "Do you think that we see Al-Zubair and Talha as wrong?"

وأنت المصيب

And you are correct.

فقال له علي ويحك يا فلان

Ali said to him, "Woe to you, O so-and-so."

إن الحق لا يعرف بالرجال

The truth is not known by men.

اعرف الحق تعرف أهله

Know the truth, and you will know its people.

قال عمر بن ميمون الأودي

Omar ibn Maymoon al-Awdi said.

صحبت معاذا

I talked to Mu'adh.

فما فارغته حتى وريته في التراب في الشام

I didn't even finish it before I buried him in the dirt in the Levant.

ثم صحبت من بعده أفقه الناس

Then I accompanied the most knowledgeable people after him.

عبد الله بن مسعود رضي الله عنه

Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him.

فسمعته يقول

"I heard him say."

عليكم بالله

By God, you must...

الجماعة

The group.

فإن يأدى الله على الجماعة

"If Allah commands the community."

ثم سمعته يوما من الأيام

Then I heard him one day.

وهو يقول

And he says

سيكون عليكم أولاة يؤخرون الصلاة عن مواقيتها

You will have leaders who will delay the prayers from their appointed times.

فصلوا الصلاة لميقاتها فهي الفريضة

Perform the prayer at its appointed time, for it is the obligatory duty.

وصلوا معهم فإنا لكم نافلة

"Arrive with them, for we are for you an extra."

قال

He said.

قلت يا أصحاب محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم

I said, O companions of Muhammad, peace be upon him.

ما أدري ما تحدثون

I don't know what you're talking about.

قال وماذا

He said, "And what?"

قال

He said.

قلت تأمرني بالجماعة

I said you command me with the group.

وتحطني تحطني عليها

"And you put me, put me on it."

ثم تقول صلي الصلاة وحدك وهي الفريضة

Then you say, pray the prayer by yourself and it is the obligatory one.

وصل مع الجماعة وهي لك نافلة

He arrived with the group, and it is an optional act for you.

قال يا عمر بن ميمون

He said, "O Umar ibn Maymun."

قد كنت أظن أنك من أفقه أهل هذه القرية

I used to think that you were the most knowledgeable person in this village.

أتدري ما الجماعة

Do you know what the group is?

قلت لا

I said no.

قال الجماعة جمهور الجماعة

The group said the majority of the group.

الذين فارقوا الجماعة

Those who have separated from the group.

والجماعة ما وافقهم

"And the group did not agree with them."

وإن كنت وحدك

And if you are alone.

وفي طريق آخر

In another way.

فضرب على فخري وقال

He struck my thigh and said.

ويحك إن جمهور الناس فارقوا الجماعة

Woe to you, the majority of people have departed from the community.

وإن الجماعة ما وافق طاعة الله عز وجل

"And the community is that which is in accordance with the obedience to God, the Exalted."

ومعنى ذلك أن العبرة باتباع الحق

This means that the lesson is in following the truth.

وإن كان عليها أقل الناس

"Even if it is upon the least of people."

فإن أكثر الناس فارقوا الجماعة

Most people have separated from the community.

أي فارقوا الحق

They have departed from the truth.

قال نعيم بن حمد

Naim bin Hamad said.

إذا فسدت الجماعة

If the community becomes corrupt.

أي فسد الناس

How the people have become corrupt.

فإن أكثر الناس فارقوا الجماعة

Most people have deviated from the community.

فعليك بما كانت عليه الجماعة

So, you should stick to what the community was upon.

قبل أن يفسدوا

Before they corrupt.

أي الصحابة

Which of the companions?

قبل أن يفسدوا

Before they spoil.

أي يفسد الناس

What corrupts people?

فعليك بما كان عليه الجماعة

So you should adhere to what the community was following.

أي الصحابة رضي الله عنهم

Which of the companions (may Allah be pleased with them)?

وإن كنت وحدك

And if you are alone.

فإنك أنت الجماعة

Indeed, you are the community.

ذكره البيهقي وغيره

It was mentioned by Al-Bayhaqi and others.

قال الحسن البصري

Al-Hasan al-Basri said.

قال لو أن رجلاً

He said, "If a man..."

أدرك السلف الأول

The early generations realized.

ثم بعث اليوم

Then he sent today.

ما عرف من الإسلام شيئاً

He did not know anything of Islam.

قال ووضع يده على خديه

He said and placed his hands on his cheeks.

ثم قال إلا هذه الصلاة

Then he said, "Except for this prayer."

ثم قال

Then he said.

أما والله لمن عاش في هذه النكرة

By God, whoever lives in this obscurity...

ولو لم يدرك هذا السلف الصالح

If this righteous predecessor had not realized this.

فرأى مبتدعاً يدعو إلى بدعته

He saw an innovator calling to his innovation.

ورأى صاحب دنياً يدعو إلى دنياه

"And he saw a man of the world calling to his world."

فعصم الله من ذلك

So Allah protected from that.

وجعل قلبه يدعو إلى دنياه

And he made his heart call to his worldly life.

وجعل قلبه يحن إلى ذلك السلف الصالح

"And made his heart long for that righteous generation."

يسأل عن سبيلهم

He asks about their path.

ويقتص آثارهم

"And He exacts retaliation for their traces."

ويتبع سبيلهم

And follows their path.

ليعوض أجراً عظيماً

To compensate with a great reward.

فكذلك فكونوا إن شاء الله

So be it, if God wills.

ويقبض فيه العلماء

And the scholars will be gathered in it.

ويكثر فيه أهل الجهالة والأهواء

"And the people of ignorance and desires abound in it."

أن يبادر وأن يسارع

To take the initiative and to hurry.

للتفقه في الدين

To gain understanding in religion.

ما دام العلماء متوافرون

As long as there are available scholars.

أن يعرف كيف ينجو بدينه

To know how to preserve one's faith.

من الأمور المشتبهات

Among the doubtful matters.

ومن الفتن والظلالات

Among the trials and misguidances.

أن ينجو غداً حين يلقى الله

To be saved tomorrow when he meets God.

أن يخوض في أمرٍ يُخوض في أمرٍ

To get involved in a matter that one is being drawn into.

يُوقِعه في عذاب الله

"He will subject him to the punishment of God."

نسأل الله العافية والسلامة

We ask Allah for well-being and safety.

علي على كل مسلم

Ali is above every Muslim.

أن يعرف فقه النجاة

To know the jurisprudence of salvation.

كيف يعرف الحق من الباطل

How can one differentiate between truth and falsehood?

كيف يُفرِّق بين الصحيح والسقيم

How does one differentiate between the healthy and the sick?

كيف يُميِّز بين الأمور المشتبهات

How can one distinguish between doubtful matters?

وهذا والله والله والله

And this, by God, by God, by God.

لا يكون إلا بالإخلاص لله

It can only be achieved with sincerity to God.

والصدق في طلب الحق

And sincerity in the pursuit of truth.

والتجربة في طلب الحق

"And the experience in seeking the truth."

ولا عامٌ أخصب من عام

There is no year more fertile than this year.

ولا أميرٌ خيرٌ من أمير

No prince is better than a prince.

لكن ذهاب علمائكم وخياركم

But the departure of your scholars and your best men.

ثم يُحدِث أقوامٌ يقيسون الأمور بآرائهم

Then some people will emerge who measure matters by their opinions.

فيهدم الإسلام ويُثلم

"Thus, Islam is undermined and weakened."

هذا أثرٌ عظيم

This is a great أثر.

فيه بيان أن كل عامٍ يأتي على الناس

It contains a statement that every year comes upon the people.

فالذي بعده شرٌّ من الذي قبله

What comes after is worse than what came before.

وفسَّر ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه ذلك

Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, explained that.

بذهاب العلم وحلول الجهل

With the departure of knowledge and the arrival of ignorance.

وحصول آثار ذلك

And the occurrence of its effects.

من تصدُّر أهل الجهالة والأهواء

From the forefront of the people of ignorance and desires.

الذين يتكلمون بغير علم

Those who speak without knowledge.

فيضلُّون عن الإسلام ويُضلُّون

They stray from Islam and lead others astray.

الإسلام الذي أرسل به الله رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The Islam that Allah sent His Messenger, peace be upon him, with.

وأمر الناس بلزومه

And he commanded the people to adhere to it.

إلى ما أحدثوه من الآراء والأهواء

To what they have brought about of opinions and desires.

فيضلُّون ويُضلُّون بآرائهم وقياسهم الباطل

They go astray and lead others astray by their opinions and false reasoning.

واتباعهم الأهواء والآراء من دون نصوص الكتاب والسنة

And following their desires and opinions without the texts of the Book and the Sunnah.

وقد ثبت أن من علامات الساعة

It has been established that among the signs of the Hour

رفع العلم وكثرة الجهل

Raising the flag and the abundance of ignorance.

وفشو الأهواء

And desires spread.

البخاري ومسلم عن أنس بن مالك رضي الله عنه قال

Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, who said:

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said

من أشراط الساعة

Among the signs of the Hour.

أن يُرفع العلم

To raise the flag.

ويثبت الجهل

And ignorance is established.

ويُشرب الخمر

And wine is drunk.

ويظهر الزنا

And adultery appears.

وروا البخاري عن شقيق

"Bukhari narrated from Shaqiq."

قال كنت مع عبد الله وأبي مسعود

He said, "I was with Abdullah and Abu Mas'ud."

قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم

The Prophet, peace be upon him, said.

إن بين يدي الساعة

"Verily, the hour is coming."

لأياما ينزل فيها الجهل

For days ignorance descends.

ويرفع فيها العلم

And the flag is raised in it.

وفي رواية لمسلم

"In a narration by Muslim"

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه

On the authority of Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him.

قال eccentric

He said eccentric.

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The Messenger of God, peace be upon him, said.

يتقارب الزمان

Time is drawing near.

ويُقبض العلم

And knowledge will be taken away.

ويظهر الفتن

And it shows the trials.

ويلقى الشُح

And the stinginess will be thrown away.

ويكثر الهرج

And chaos increases.

وفي البخاري ومسلم

In Bukhari and Muslim.

عن عبد الله بن عمر بن عاص

About Abdullah bin Omar bin Al-Aas.

رضي الله عنه قال

May Allah be pleased with him, he said.

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said.

إن الله

Indeed, God.

إن الله لا يقبض العلم

"Indeed, Allah does not take away knowledge."

انتِزاعا ينتزِعه من الناس

A struggle that he takes away from people.

وَلَكِنْ يَقْبِضُ الْعِلْمِ

"But knowledge is taken away."

بِقَبْضِ الْعُلاَمْ

By the grip of the signs

حتى إذا لم يترك عالمًا اتخذ الناس رؤوسًا جُهَّالًا فسُئِلوا فأفتَو بغير علم فضلُّوا وأضلُّوا

Even if he did not leave a scholar, people took ignorant heads, and when they were asked, they issued opinions without knowledge, leading themselves astray and leading others astray.

الكلام في دين الله بلا علم وهذا أصل الضلال قرنه الله بالشرك فيه

Speaking about the religion of God without knowledge is the root of misguidance, and God has associated it with polytheism.

قال الله تعالى قُلْ إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّيَ الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَالْعِثْمَ وَالْبَغِيَ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَأَنْ تَقُوا وَأَنْ تُشْرِكُوا بِاللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّرْ بِهِ سُلْطَانًا وَأَنْ تَقُولُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Allah, the Exalted, said: "Say, 'My Lord has only forbidden acts of wickedness, whether apparent or hidden, and sin, and unjust aggression, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down any authority, and that you say about Allah what you do not know.'"

تَكَلَّمَ بِلَا عِلْمٍ فَحَكَمَ بِجَهْلٍ وَمَنْ غَابَتْ عَنْهُ الدَّلَائِلِ وَطَرَافُ الْمَسَائِلِ تَعَلَّقَ بِالْأَوْهَامِ وَهَذَا شَأْنُ كُلُّ مَنْ حَادَ عَنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ

He spoke without knowledge, thus he judged in ignorance; and whoever is deprived of evidence and the aspects of issues will cling to illusions, and this is the case of everyone who deviates from the command of Allah.

وَقَالُوا مَا هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَى وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَا إِلَّا الدَّهَرُ وَمَا لَهُمْ بِذَلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ

And they said, "There is nothing but our worldly life; we die and we live, and nothing destroys us except time." And they have no knowledge of that; they are only assuming.

أَصَفَهَمُ اللَّهُ لَمَّا تَكَلَّمُوا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ بِطَوْلِهِ يَظُنُّونَ فَأَحْذَرْ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنْهُمْ

God has warned them when they spoke without knowledge of its extent; they assume, so beware that you may be one of them.

وَتَقْبِيحِ الْحَقِّ قَالَ تَعَالَ سَمَّاعُونَ لِلْكَذِبِ سَمَّاعُونَ لِقَوْمٍ آخَرِينَ لَمْ يَعْتُوكَ يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَرِمًا بَعْدِ مَوَضِعِهِ

"And to distort the truth, He said: 'They are listeners to falsehood, listeners to other people who do not bring you, distorting the words after their proper places.'"

قَالَ الْعَلَّامَةُ بِنُ الْقَيِّمِ رَحِمُهُ اللَّهُ وَيَجُلُّ عَذَالِكَ عَلَى أَنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا اعْتَادَ سَمَاعَ الْبَاطِلِ وَقَبُولِهِ أَكْسَبَهُ ذَلِكَ تَحْرِيفًا لِلْحَقِّ عَمَّ وَضِعِهِ فَإِنَّهُ إِذَا قَبِلَ الْبَاطِلِ أَحَبَّهُ وَرَضِيَهُ فَإِذَا جَاءَ الْحَقُّ بِخِل

The scholar Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "It is well-known that when a servant becomes accustomed to hearing falsehood and accepting it, this leads to a distortion of the truth from its original position. For when he accepts falsehood, he loves it and is pleased with it, so when the truth comes..."

بيان عظيم المشقة وبعيد الشقة على من أعرض عن أمر الله واتبع الشهوات وأخذ بالأهواء والآراء وفاسد الملذات

A statement of great hardship and remote consequences for those who turn away from the commands of God, follow their desires, adhere to whims and opinions, and indulge in corrupt pleasures.

ظنًّا أن في ذلك تخفيفًا وسعَه فظرَّ نفسه من حيث أراد لها النفع وشقَّ عليها من حيث أراد عليها التخفيف

Thinking that this would be a relief, he exposed himself in the way he wanted to benefit her and made it difficult for her in the way he wanted to lighten her burden.

فوقع بنقيض ما قصد ومن تعجَّل الشيء قبل أوانه عُوقِب بحرمانه

So he ended up with the opposite of what he intended, and whoever hastens something before its time is punished by being deprived of it.

فلا سعَه إلا في شرع الله أو فيما أذن به الله ولا تخفيف إلا به

"There is no ease except in the law of God or in what God has permitted, and there is no alleviation except through Him."

فالله يريد أن يُخفِّف عنكم وخُلِق الإنسان ضعيفًا في عقله وضعيفًا في بصيرته وضعيفًا في إيمانه وضعيفًا في يقينه وضعيفًا في صبره

"Indeed, Allah wants to lighten your burden, for mankind was created weak in intellect, weak in insight, weak in faith, weak in certainty, and weak in patience."

يستعجل التخفيف والسعَه فيقع فيما يُسخِط الله ظنًّا أنه تخفيفٌ وسعَه وراحَه ولذَّه وهو واقعٌ في ضد ما أراد

He rushes for relief and ease, and thus falls into what angers God, thinking that it is relief, ease, comfort, and pleasure, while he is actually falling into the opposite of what he intended.

ومرتكِسٌ في المشقة والشيء

And one who is committed to difficulty and the matter.

والشدَّة والضيق ولو صَبَر على أمر الله وجاهد نفسه والشيطان لوجد التخفيف في أمر الله والسعَة فيه

"And the hardship and distress; if one is patient with the decree of God and strives against oneself and the devil, one will find relief in the matter of God and ample space within it."

ولو صَبَر وصابَر لوجد اللذَّة والراحة والطُّمأنينة من الله وإليه

If he had patience and perseverance, he would find pleasure, comfort, and tranquility from God and towards Him.

عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودِ رضي الله عنه

About Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him.

أنه كان يقول

He used to say.

أُغْدُ عَالِمًا أَوْ مُتَعَلِّمًا وَلَا تَغْدُ إِمَّعَهُ فِي مَا بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ

Be a scholar or a learner, and do not be among those who are indifferent in between.

وعنه رضي الله عنه قال

And from him, may Allah be pleased with him, he said:

لا يكون أحدُكم إمَّعَه

None of you should be a mere follower.

قالوا ما الإمَّعَه يا أبا عبد الرحمن

They said, "What is the one who follows others without any consideration, O Abu Abdul Rahman?"

قال يقول إنما أنا مع الناس إن اهتَدَوا اهتَديت وإن ظلُّوا ظلَلت

He said, "I am merely with the people; if they are guided, I am guided, and if they go astray, I go astray."

ألا ليُوطَّنَّ أحدُكم نفسي؟

"Let one of you establish himself with my soul."

على إن كفر الناس ألا يكفر

"That the people disbelieve, but He does not disbelieve."

وعنه رضي الله عنه قال

"And from him, may Allah be pleased with him, he said"

لا يكون أن أحدُكم إمَّعَه

It should not be that one of you is a mere follower.

قالوا وما الإمَّعَه

They said, "What is the immah?"

قال يجري مع كل رِيح

He said it runs with every wind.

وقال الخلَّال أخبَرني حرب بن إسماعيل الكرماني قال

Al-Khallal said, Harb ibn Isma'il al-Kurmanyi informed me, saying:

قلت لإسحاق بن رهويه ما معنى قوله لا يكون أحدُكم إمَّعَه

I said to Ishaq bin Rahawayh, what does the saying mean, "None of you should be merely a follower"?

قال يقول إن ظلَّ الناس ظلَلت وإن اهتَدَوا اهتَدَت

He said, "If people remain in the shade, they will remain; and if they find guidance, they will find guidance."

وقال ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه

Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said.

لا يوطِّنَنَّ أحدُكم نفسه على أنه إن كفر من في الأرض جميعًا لم يكفر

"Let none of you deceive himself into thinking that if all the people on earth disbelieved, he would not disbelieve."

وقال الفضيل ابن عياذ رحمه الله

Al-Fudail ibn Iyad, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

اتَّبِع طريق الهُدى ولا يضُرُّك قِلَّة السالِكين

Follow the path of guidance, and do not be harmed by the few who walk it.

وإياك وطريق الظلالة ولا تغتَر بكثرة الهالكين

"And beware of the path of misguidance, and do not be deceived by the multitude of the doomed."

وعنكم ميل بن زياد

And about you, Mihl bin Ziyad.

أن علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه قال

That Ali bin Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, said.

يا كُمَيْل

O Kumail

إن هذه القلوب أوعِيَّة

Indeed, these hearts are containers.

فخيرُها أوعَاها للخير

"The best of her is the one who guides others to goodness."

والناسُ ثلاثة

And people are three.

عالمٌ ربَّاني

A godly scholar.

ومُتعلِّم على سبيل نجاة

And a learner as a means of salvation.

وهمَج رعاع أتباعُ كل ناعِق

"And they are a wild rabble, followers of every caller."

لم يستضِيءوا بنور العلم

They did not illuminate themselves with the light of knowledge.

ولم يلجأوا إلى رُكنٍ وثيق

And they did not resort to a strong support.

أُفٍّ لحامل حق لا بصيرة له

"Alas for the bearer of a right who has no insight."

ينقبِحُ الشكُّ في قلبِه بأول عارضٍ من شُبهة

Doubt becomes ugly in his heart at the first sign of a suspicion.

لا يدري أين الحق

He does not know where the truth is.

إن قال أخطأ

If he said, he was wrong.

وإن أخطأ لم يدري

And if he makes a mistake, he does not realize it.

فهو فتنةٌ لمن فتن به

"It is a trial for those who are tempted by it."

هذه النصوص العظيمة

These great texts.

تُفيدُ المسلم طالبَ الحق

It benefits the Muslim seeker of truth.

المُستبصِر طريقَ النجاة

The insightful one finds the path to salvation.

الذي يخاف أن تتبسَ عليه الطُّرُق

He who fears that the paths may become unclear to him.

فيزيغَ ويظل

Physique and remain

تُفيدُه أن يتريَّث ولا يستعجل

It is beneficial for him to take his time and not rush.

أخذ بصيحة الصائحين

He responded to the call of the callers.

والاستِجابة لدعوات الداعين

And responding to the calls of the callers.

إلا أن يعلم موقعَها من الحق من غيره

"Unless he knows its position in relation to the truth from others."

فإذا علم أنها دعوةُ حق

So if he knows that it is a call of truth

موافقة للدليل من الكتاب والسنة

In accordance with the evidence from the Book and the Sunnah.

وعليها السلف الأمة

And upon it, the debts of the nation.

وعليها علماء عصره من الراسخين الربانيين

And the scholars of his time from the firm and God-fearing ones were upon it.

الذين عُرِفوا بالتمسك بالكتاب والسنة

Those who are known for adhering to the Quran and the Sunnah.

وتعظيم نصوصها

And the glorification of its texts.

واقتفاء أثر سلف الأمة

And following the footsteps of the ancestors of the nation.

كان مع الحق

He was with the truth.

وإن خالفَه كلُّ الناس

Even if everyone opposes him.

وإن علم أنها مخالفةٌ لذلك

"And if she knows that it is contrary to that."

لم يدخُل فيها بل أعرَض عنها

He did not enter it but turned away from it.

وحذِر منها وحذَّر

And be cautious of it and warn.

وإن اشتبهَ عليه الحقُّ بالباطل

"And if the truth is confused with falsehood for him."

لزم ما كان يعرفُه من الحق

He adhered to what he knew of the truth.

وترك ما اشتبهَ عليه

"And he left what was ambiguous to him."

فإن الحقُّ عليه نور

For the truth is a light.

وإن الباطلَ وظلمةٌ ومناراتُ زور

"Indeed, falsehood is darkness and beacons of deceit."

وإن الحقُّ أحقُّ أن يُتبع

And indeed, the truth is more deserving to be followed.

والباطلَ الحقُّ أن يُجتنب

And falsehood is rightly avoided.

وإن الحقُّ لا يعرف بالأشخاص ولا بالرجال

"The truth is not recognized by individuals or by men."

وإنما يعرفُ الحقُّ بالحقُّ

The truth is only known by the truth.

بدليله من القرآن والسنة

With evidence from the Quran and the Sunnah.

قال الله جل وعلا

God, the Exalted and Mighty, said.

الحقُّ من ربِّك فلا تكونن من المُمتَرين

The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters.

أختي المسلمة

My Muslim sister

احمد الله على ما كرَّمك الله وصانك بالإسلام

I thank God for what He has honored you with and protected you through Islam.

وما بدَّل الله به حال المرأة بعد إن كانت في الجاهلية في حالةٍ مهينة

And Allah did not change the condition of the woman after she was in a humiliating state during the pre-Islamic era.

فحفِظ الإسلام للمرأة حقها

Islam preserved the woman's rights.

وردَّ لها كرامتها

And he restored her dignity.

فلهن مثلُّ الذي عليهن بالمعروف

For them is a rights similar to those over them in a fair manner.

وللرجال عليهن درجة

And men have a degree over them.

فهي في التكليف شرعًا مثلُ الرجل

She is in legal obligation like a man.

إلا ما خصَّها الشرع

Except for what the law specifies.

وفي الجزاء والحساب والمُوفاة

In recompense, accountability, and fulfillment.

كلُّهم آتِ الرحمن عبدًا

"All of them will come to the Most Merciful as servants."

ومُجازِيهم بأعمالهم إن خيرًا فخيرًا

"And He will reward them for their deeds; if good, then good."

وإن شرًا فشرًا

And if there is evil, then let it be evil.

والإسلام عظَّم حقَّ المرأة أمًا وزوجَه

Islam has greatly honored the rights of women as mothers and wives.

وأختًا وعمَّةً وخالةً ومُسنَّة

And a sister, an aunt, a maternal aunt, and an elderly woman.

وفي الدنيا أوجب على وليِّها النفقة والرعاية

In this life, it is obligatory for her guardian to provide for her and take care of her.

وجعل له عليها الطاعة بالمعروف

"And He made obedience to him in what is good."

وأكَّد على حقِّ الولي أبًا وزوجًا ووصيَّا

He emphasized the right of the guardian, whether a father, husband, or executor.

بالمُعاملة بالحسنى والمُعاشرة بالمعروف

With good treatment and decent companionship.

وأن يُعاملَها وليُّها بالعدل والرفق والرحمة

And that her guardian should treat her with justice, kindness, and mercy.

وجعل الإسلام للمرأة الحقَّ في مالها والحقَّ في إرثها

Islam granted women the right to their own property and the right to inheritance.

وجعل لها قبول النكاح وردَّه ونقضَه بردِّ مال الرجل إليه

"And He made for her the acceptance of marriage and its rejection, and its annulment is by returning the man's property to him."

إن خافت على نفسها أو دينها في البقاء معه

If she fears for herself or her religion in staying with him.

وحرَّم الإسلام عظلَ المرأة بمنعها من الزواج بكُفئها

Islam has prohibited the coercion of a woman by preventing her from marrying a suitable partner.

وحرَّم تعليقَها زوجةً بهجرها بما فيه قِلاف الشرع

And he prohibited her being referred to as a wife due to her being abandoned in a manner contrary to religious law.

وجعل لها الحق في فسخ نكاحها

"And granted her the right to annul her marriage."

فيما يسوغُ به فسخُ النكاح شرعًا

What justifies the dissolution of marriage legally?

من خلل دينٍ أو عِرضٍ ونحو ذلك

"Through a religion, honor, or something similar."

وفي إزاء ذلك فقد شدَّد الشرعُ على من طلبَت مُفارَقة زوجها

In this regard, the law has emphasized those who seek to part from their husbands.

من غير ما بأس من شدَّةٍ تُلجِئها وتُطرُّها لمُفارَقة زوجها

Without any problem from a severity that compels her and forces her to part from her husband.

والترمذي عن ثوبان رضي الله عنه قال

"Al-Tirmidhi reported from Thawban, may Allah be pleased with him, who said..."

قال رسولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said.

أيَّ ممرأة سألت زوجها

Any woman asked her husband.

ما طلاقًا في غير ما بأس

What is divorce without hardship?

فحرامٌ عليها رائحةُ الجنَّة

"It is forbidden for her to smell the scent of Paradise."

فكان في هذا التشريع الوسطي العدل المتوازن

This balanced legislation contained just justice.

الجمعُ بين حقِّ المرأة ورفع الظلم عنها

Combining women's rights and alleviating the oppression against them.

مع حفظ حقِّ الأولياء وحفظ كيان العُسرة

With the preservation of the rights of the guardians and the protection of the entity of hardship.

هذا هو تكريم الإسلام للمرأة

This is the honor of Islam for women.

بعد أن كانت عند أهل الجاهلية متاعًا تُورَث ولا ترث

After it was, among the people of ignorance, a possession that is inherited but does not inherit.

وعارًا لا شرفًا

"And shame, not honor."

روى مسلم عن أنس بن مالك رضي الله عنه

Muslim narrated from Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him.

قال رسولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said.

من عالَ جاريتين حتى تبلُغا

Whoever raises two girls until they reach maturity.

جاء يوم القيامة أنا وهو

The Day of Judgment came, me and him.

وضمَّ أصابِعه

And he clasped his fingers.

وروى أحمد من عالَ ابنتين أو ثلاث بنات

Ahmad narrated that whoever raises two or three daughters.

أو أختين أو ثلاث أخوات

Or two sisters or three sisters.

حتى يبِن أو يموت عنهن

"Until he clarifies or dies away from them."

كنت أنا وهو كهاتين

I was like this with him.

وأشار بإصبعيه السبابة

And he pointed with his index fingers.

فأحمد الله يا أختاه

So thank God, my sister.

على ما منَّ الله به عليك

For what God has blessed you with.

من كرامة الإسلام

From the dignity of Islam.

وأعرفي رعاك الله

And know, may God protect you.

حال المرأة في الجاهلية

The status of women in pre-Islamic Arabia.

وأعرفي تكريم الإسلام لك

"And know the honor that Islam has given you."

فما كُرِّمت المرأة تكريمًا

"When a woman is honored, she is honored."

كما كرَّمها الإسلام

As Islam honored her.

فقومي حفظك الله

So stand up, may God protect you.

بطاعة الله بتوحيده

By obeying Allah through His oneness.

وطاعته وإقامة فرائضه

"And obeying Him and establishing His duties."

وتفقَّهي في دينك

And seek knowledge in your religion.

وأدي طاعة الله لك

And be obedient to God for you.

وأدي طاعة من له حقُّ الطاعة عليك

"And fulfill the obedience of the one who has the right of obedience over you."

من أبٍ وزوجٍ ووليٍّ

From a father, a husband, and a guardian.

في غير معصية الله

In disobedience to Allah.

وحافظي رحمك الله

And may God preserve you.

على الحِجاب

On the veil.

والبُعد عن مواضع الفتن

And staying away from places of temptation.

فما أسعد تلك المرأة العفيفة

How happy is that chaste woman.

المُتستِّرة الحييَّة

The modest concealed one.

روى الإمام أحمد في المُسنَد

Imam Ahmad narrated in the Musnad.

عن عبد الرحمن بن عوف رضي الله عنه قال

Narrated by Abdul Rahman bin Awf, may Allah be pleased with him, he said:

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said.

إذا صلَّت المرأة خمسَها

If a woman prays her five prayers.

وصامت شهرًا

And I fasted for a month.

وحصَّنت فرجَها

"And she safeguarded her private parts."

وأطاعت زوجَها

And she obeyed her husband.

قيل لها

She was told.

أُدخل الجنَّة من أي أبواب الجنَّة شِئتِي

Enter Paradise from any of the gates of Paradise you wish.
