أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

طاها ما أنزلنا عليك القرآن لتشق

Ta Ha, We have not revealed the Qur'an to you to bring you distress.

ما أنزلنا عليك القرآن لتشق

We did not send down the Quran to you to be distressing.

عليك القرآن لتشقى إلا تذكرة لمن يخشى

"The Quran is a reminder for those who fear."

تنزيلاً ممن خلق الأرض والسماوات الأولى

A revelation from the One who created the earth and the first heavens.

الرحمن على العرش استغفر

The Most Merciful is upon the Throne; seek forgiveness.

سوى له ما في السماوات وما في الأرض وما بينهما وما تحت الثرى

He created for him what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them and what is beneath the soil.

وإن تجهر بالقول فإنه يعلم السر وأخفى

"And if you express your words aloud, He knows the secret and what is even more hidden."

الله لا يخفى

God is not hidden.

لا إله إلا هو له الأسماء الحسنى

There is no deity except Him; for Him are the best names.

وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيرًا

"Have you received the news?"

مُسَيْثُ مُوسَى إِذْ رَآ نَارًا

Moses saw a fire.

إِذْ رَآ نَارًا

"When he saw a fire."

فقال لأهلهم كثوا إني آنست نارا

He said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire."

آنست نارا لعلي آتيكم منها بقبس

"I have seen a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch from it."

أو أجد علما

Or I find knowledge.

من نار هدى

From the fire of guidance.

فلما أتاها نودي يا موسى

So when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses."

إنك في الوادي المقدس طوا

"Indeed, you are in the holy valley, Tawa."

وأنا اخترتك فاستمع لما يوحى

"And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed."

إنني أنا الله لا إله إلا أنا فاعبدني

"Indeed, I am Allah; there is no deity except Me, so worship Me."

وأقم الصلاة لذكري

"And establish prayer for My remembrance."

إن الساعة آتية أكاد أخفيها

"The Hour is coming; I can hardly conceal it."

لتجزى كلها

To receive it all.

كل نفس بما تسعى

Every soul is bound by what it strives for.

فلا يصدنك عنها

So let nothing divert you from it.

من لا يؤمنك

Who does not trust you?

من لو بها

"Who has it?"

وتغاعه

And his goodness.

فأذgraph

وما تلك بيمينك

"And what is that in your right hand?"

يا إلهي

Oh my God!

موسى قال لي عصايا أتركع عليها وأهش بها على ظنبي

Moses said to me, "My staff, I lean on it and use it to herd my sheep."

وما تلك بيمينك يا موسى قال لي عصايا أتركع عليها وأهش بها على ظنبي

And what is that in your right hand, O Moses? He said, "It is my staff; I lean on it and I use it to herd my sheep."

ولي فيها ماء وماء وماء وماء وماء وماء وماء وماء وماء وماء

And in it, there is water, and water, and water, and water, and water, and water, and water, and water, and water.

ولي فيها ماء وماء وماء وماء وماء وماء وماء

And in it there is water and water and water and water and water and water and water.

فإذا هي حية تسعى قال خذها ولا تخط

"So it is a living snake, he said, 'Take it and do not be afraid.'"

قال خذها ولا تخف سنعيدها سيرتها الأولى

He said, "Take it and don't be afraid, we will restore it to its original state."

وآتلك بيمينك يا موسى قال هي عصايا

"And hold in your right hand, O Moses, said he, 'This is my staff.'"

فأترك عليها وأهش بها على غنمي

So I leave it and use it to drive my sheep.

وأهش بها على غنمي

"And I use it to herd my sheep."

ولي فيها

"And I have in it."

ولي فيها مآرب أخرى

I have other interests in it.

قال ألقها يا موسى فألقاها فإلي هي حية تسعى

He said, "Throw it down, O Moses." So he threw it, and behold, it was a serpent slithering.

قال خذها ولا تخط

He said, "Take it and don't hesitate."

قال خذها ولا تخط سنعيدها سيرتها الأولى

He said, "Take it and do not worry, we will restore it to its original state."

قال خذها ولا تخط سنعيدها دائما

He said, "Take it and don't worry, we will always return it."

والصوم من يدك إلى جناعك تخرج بيضاء

"And fasting from your hand to your wings comes out white."

من غير سموه

Without His Highness.

آية أخرى لنريك من آياتنا الكرى

Another verse to show you some of Our great signs.

اذهب إلى فرعون إنه طغى

Go to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed.

قال رب اشرح لي صدري ويفشر لي أمري

My Lord, expand for me my breast and ease for me my task.

وحل العقل

The mind is resolved.

وعوذة من لساني يفقه قولي

"And a charm from my tongue, so that my words may be understood."

واجعل لي وزيري

And appoint for me a minister.

من أبلي هارون أخي

From the one who is better, my brother Aaron.

اشدد بي أذري

"Strengthen my resolve."

وأشركه في أمري

"And involve him in my matter."

كي نسبحك كثيرا

So that we may praise You a lot.

ونذكرك كثيرا

And we remember you a lot.

ا grasses

grasses

اشدد في اذري وأشركه في امري

"Strengthen my back and share my affair with him."

كي نسبحك كثيرا

To praise You greatly.

ونذكرك كثيرا ونذكرك كثيراfree

And we remind you often, and we remind you often free.

وككثيرا إنك كنت بما بصيرا

And as you often see, you are aware.

قال قد أوتيت سؤلك يا موسى ولقد مننا عليك مرة أخرى

He said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses, and indeed we have conferred a favor upon you once again."

إذ أوحينا إلى أمك ما يوحى

"When We revealed to your mother what was revealed."

أني قذفي في التابوت فقذفي في اليم فليلقي اليم في الساح ليأخذه عدو لي وعدو له

"Throw me into the coffin, then throw me into the sea, so that the sea may cast me ashore to be taken by an enemy of mine and an enemy of his."

وألقيت عليك محبة مني ولتصنع عليك

"And I have cast upon you a love from me, so that you may grow fond of it."

ولا تحزن وقتلت نفسا فنجيناك من الغم وفتناك فتونا

"And do not grieve, for you killed a soul, and We saved you from distress and tested you with a severe trial."

وفتناك فتونا

"And we have tempted you with a temptation."

فنبت سنين في أهل مدينة

And we have grown for years among the people of the city.

إِنَّا قَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْنَا أَنَّ الْعَذَابَ عَلَى مَنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّ

Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment is upon those who denied and turned away.

قَالَ فَمَنْ رَبُّكُمَا يَا مُوسَىٰ قَالَ رَبُّنَا الَّذِي أَعْطَى كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلْقَهُ ثُمَّ هَبَى

He said, "So who is your Lord, O Moses?" He said, "Our Lord is He who gave everything its form, then guided [it]."

قَالَ فَمَا بَانُوا الْقُرُونِ الْأُولَىٰ قَالَ عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ رَبِّي فِي كِتَابٍ

He said, "What remains of the earlier generations?" He said, "Its knowledge is with my Lord in a Book."

لا يضل ربي ولا ينسى الذي جعل لكم الأرض مهدا وسنك لكم فيها سهولا

My Lord does not go astray nor forgets, He who made the earth a cradle for you and created for you pathways therein.

وَأَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِي أَزْوَاجًا مِنْ نَبَاتٍ

"And He sent down water from the sky, and We brought forth by it pairs of plants."

شَتَّى كُلُوا وَارْعَوْا أَنْعَامَكُمْ

"Winter, eat and graze your livestock."

وَأَخْرَجْنَا بِي أَزْوَاجًا مِنْ نَبَاتٍ شَتَّى

"And We brought forth from it pairs of various plants."

شَتَّى كُلُوا وَارْعَوْا أَنْعَامَكُمْ

"Eat and graze your cattle."

إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِأُذِنُّهَا

Indeed, in that are signs for those who listen.

صَلَقَ اللَّهُ الْعَظِيمُ

Allah the Exalted is glorified.
