إِنَّا حَمْدَهُ وَنِعْمَدَهُ نَعْمُدْنَا شَرِيحَنَا

Indeed, we praise Him and seek His help; we rely on Him.

أَلْمِيْكُ اللَّهُ وَلَا تَيْتُ

God is the only one, and there is no other.

أَلْمِيْكَ نَعْمَدَهُ وَلِيْشَرِيحَنَا

We will make him our guide and he will explain to us.

إِنَّا حَمْدَهُ وَنِعْمَدَهُ نَعْمُدْنَا شَرِيحَنَا

Indeed, we praise Him and seek His assistance; we rely on our Lord.

أَلْمِيْكُ اللَّهُ وَلَا تَيْتُ

God is the most powerful, and I do not fear.

Translation of Nancy Qanqar

تقلل لي منها فأنسى

"Make me forget her."

فإنما قل وكفى خير مما كثر وألهى

"Indeed, that which is little and sufficient is better than that which is abundant and distracts."

اللهم كبرت سني

O Allah, I have grown older.

وضعفت قوتي

And my strength weakened.

وانتشرت رعيتي

“My flock has spread.”

فاقبضني غير مضيع ولا مفرد

"Then take me, neither lost nor alone."

ألأن أحق ما تعاهد به الراعي رعيته؟

Is it now the right time for the shepherd to fulfill his promise to his flock?

أن يتعاهدهم بالذي لله عليهم

To promise them what is due to God from them.

من وظائف دينهم الذي هداهم له

"From the functions of their religion that He guided them to."

وإنما علينا أن نأمركم بالذي أمركم الله به من طاعته

"And it is upon us to command you with that which Allah has commanded you regarding obedience to Him."

وننهاكم عما نهاكم الله من معصيته

And we warn you against what Allah has forbidden you from disobeying Him.

وأن نقيم أمر الله في قريب الناس وبعيدهم

"And to establish God's command among those close to us and those far away."
