الصلاة

The prayer

وانظروا في الذين والعياذ بالله حرموا من هذه الصلاة

"Look at those who, God forbid, have been deprived of this prayer."

تجدون على وجوههم الظلمة

You will find darkness on their faces.

والانقباض وضيق الصدر

And the tightness and constriction of the chest.

وسوء الخلط وقبح المنطق

The bad confusion and the ugliness of logic.

الصلاة

Prayer

فالذي يمتنع من الركوع لله سبحانه وتعالى

So the one who refrains from bowing to Allah the Most Exalted

ولا يؤدي الصلوات القمس

And he does not perform the five daily prayers.

هذا يكون كافرا

This would be disbelieving.

كيف يكون مؤمنا وهو لا يركع لله

How can he be a believer if he does not bow to God?

ولا يسجد لله سبحانه وتعالى

And he does not prostrate to God, the Almighty.

ولا يؤدي ما أوجب الله عليه

And he does not fulfill what God has made obligatory upon him.

كل نفس بما كسبت رهينة

"Every soul is held in pledge for what it has earned."

إلا أصحاب اليمين

Except for the companions of the right.

في جنات يتساءلون

In gardens, they will be asking each other.

عن المجرمين

About the criminals.

ما سلككم في سقر

What has brought you to Saqar?

قالوا لم نكن من المصلين

They said, "We were not among the prayer makers."

الصلاة

The prayer.

فضل الصلاة وعقوبة تاركها

The merit of prayer and the punishment for abandoning it.

فإن موضوعنا في هذه الكلمة

Our topic in this speech

وكما سمعتم

As you have heard.

موضوع يهم كل مسلم

A topic that concerns every Muslim.

تهمه نجاته من عذاب الله

His salvation from the punishment of God concerns him.

وبالدرجة الأولى

First and foremost.

يهمه خوف الله سبحانه وتعالى

He is concerned about the fear of Allah, the Exalted and Almighty.

والقيام بعبوديته

And to fulfill His servitude.

ألا وهو موضوع الصلاة

It is the topic of prayer.

وحكمه

And his ruling.

تاركها

Leaving it

الصلاة يا عباد الله

Prayer, O servants of God.

كما لا يخفى على الجميع

As is well known to everyone.

مكانتها في الإسلام

Her status in Islam.

فهي ثانية أركان الإسلام

It is the second pillar of Islam.

بعد الشهادتين

After the two testimonies.

فإن الإسلام بني على خمسة أركان

Islam is built upon five pillars.

شهادتها لا إله إلا الله

Her testimony is that there is no god but Allah.

وأن محمد رسول الله

And that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.

وإقام الصلاة

And establish the prayer.

وإيطاء الزكاة

And the giving of zakat.

وصوم رمضان

And the fasting of Ramadan

وحج بيت الله الحرام

And pilgrimage to the Sacred House of Allah.

فكون الصلاة جاءت

The prayer has come.

الدرجة الثانية بعد الشهادتين

The second degree after the two testimonies.

من ما يجب أن نعرفها

Among the things we should know.

تدل على أهميتها في الإسلام

Indicates its importance in Islam.

ومكانتها في الدين

And its status in religion.

وأيضا مع كونها هي

And also with her being her.

الركن الثاني من أركان الإسلام

The second pillar of Islam.

الموالية في الترتيب

The sequence of the followers.

الشهادتين فإنها

The two testimonies, for indeed it is

عمود الإسلام

Pillar of Islam

كما جاء في الحديث رأس الأمر الإسلام

As mentioned in the hadith, the essence of the matter is Islam.

وعموده الصلاة

And its pillar is prayer.

وذروة سنامه الجهاد في سبيل الله

"And the peak of its hump is jihad in the way of Allah."

فهي عمود الإسلام

It is the pillar of Islam.

ومن المعلوم أن

It is known that

أي بناء لا يقوم

Any building that does not stand.

إلا على عمود الإسلام

Except on the pillar of Islam.

فإذا اختل العمود

If the column is disturbed.

أو فقد

Or lost

انهدم البناء

The building collapsed.

كذلك الإسلام لا يقوم

Similarly, Islam does not stand.

إلا إذا تحقق وجود الصلاة

Unless the existence of the prayer is confirmed.

وقيمة الصلاة

And the value of prayer.

كما أمر الله سبحانه وتعالى

As God Almighty commanded.

ومما يدل على أهمية

And what indicates the importance

هذه العبادة

This worship.

أنها محل اهتمام الأنبياء

That it is a matter of interest to the prophets.

عليه الصلاة والسلام

Peace be upon him.

فإبراهيم عليه الصلاة والسلام

So Ibrahim, peace be upon him,

يقول في دعائه

He says in his prayer.

رب اجعلني مقيم الصلاة

O Lord, make me an establisher of prayer.

ومن ذريتي

And of my descendants

ربنا وتقبل دعاء

Our Lord, and accept the supplication.

وإسماعيل

And Ishmael.

قال الله تعالى عنه

God Almighty said about him.

واذكر في الكتاب إسماعيل

"And mention in the Book Ismail."

إنه كان

He was.

رسولا نبيا

A messenger, a prophet.

وكان يأمر أهله

And he would command his family.

بالصلاة والزكاة

With prayer and almsgiving.

وكان عند ربه مرضيا

"And he was pleasing to his Lord."

والله تعالى قال لموسى

And Allah, the Most High, said to Moses.

وأقم الصلاة لذكري

"Establish prayer for My remembrance."

وهل أتاك حديث موسى

"Has the story of Moses reached you?"

إلى قوله تعالى

To the saying of Allah, the Exalted.

إنني أنا الله لا إله إلا أنا

Indeed, I am God; there is no deity except Me.

فاعبدني وأقم الصلاة لذكري

"Then worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance."

وعيسى عليه السلام

And Jesus, peace be upon him.

يقول

He says.

إني عبد الله آتاني الكتاب

Indeed, I am a servant of Allah; He has given me the Book.

وجعلني نبيا

"And He made me a prophet."

وجعلني مباركا أينما كنت

"And He made me blessed wherever I am."

وأوصاني بالصلاة والزكاة

"And he advised me to pray and give alms."

ما دمت حيا

As long as I am alive.

ونبينا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم

And our Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

يقول الله له

God says to him.

وأمر أهلك بالصلاة

"And command your family to pray."
