依然是一片荒地的西九文化区

The West Kowloon Cultural District is still a barren land.

忽然烟闹起来

Suddenly, the smoke started to stir.

奇形怪状的巨型充气物

Strange-looking giant inflatable objects.

吸引了传媒和市民的注意

Attracted the attention of the media and the public.

这个其实是未来西九的

This is actually the future of West Kowloon.

市国文化博物馆M+,

M+ Museum of Art and Culture.

进行的当代户外雕塑展览

Contemporary outdoor sculpture exhibition in progress.

让观众感到关注

Make the audience feel cared for.

并且令人感受到

And it makes one feel that

世界各种不同的现代艺术

Various forms of modern art around the world.

在香港未曾见过

Never seen it in Hong Kong.

这次的作品

其实我希望不是纯粹一种装饰性的

Actually, I hope it is not purely decorative.

或者是看到很开心

Or maybe seeing it brings a lot of joy.

或者来玩

Or come to play.

偷个艺术品

Steal an artwork.

将一个蟑螂放大

Enlarge a cockroach.

放大到一个不合常理的

Exaggerated to an unreasonable extent.

或者是有点压迫感的

Or it feels a bit oppressive.

甚至出现了一种荒谬

There even emerged a kind of absurdity.

从不同角度去看的时候

When viewed from different perspectives.

第一层你会见到一只蟑螂

On the first floor, you will encounter a cockroach.

第二层你可能觉得

You might feel the second layer.

也挺噁心的

It's quite disgusting too.

或者是不喜欢的

Or maybe dislike it.

有可能第三层的时候

It is possible at the third level.

就开始在想

Just started thinking.

究竟和旁边那只脚有什么关系呢?

What does it have to do with the foot next to it?

好像挺性感的

再想多一点的时候

是一个恐惧和欲望之间

也很吻合我们过去

形容香港是一个文化沙漠

什么都没有的一个状况

而它要在很短时间内

令到普通市民都觉得

It makes ordinary citizens feel that

和它相关的

它要透过一些比较地标性的手段

It needs to go through some more landmark methods.

这一类活动其实对吸引普通市民

This type of activity is actually effective in attracting ordinary citizens.

那些市民可能从来都不会进入艺术馆

Those citizens may never enter the art museum.

无疑是一个作用

It is undoubtedly a function.

它出了这几个东西

It produced these few things.

给小朋友大人看也挺特别

It's quite special to show it to both children and adults.

因为在香港很少有这些

Because there are very few of these in Hong Kong.

Inflate these large figurines.

为什么不好好地利用呢

懂得欣赏就欣赏

还是可以作为一个

最好是普及一点艺术

可能星期六、日

而是带出一个信息的时候

《西九》应该是透过艺术活动

越来越成熟的时候

譬如你说多了机会

For example, you said too many opportunities.

但是你说是不是

香港发生很多城市

Hong Kong has many cities.

就等于香港的好艺术

It is equivalent to the good art of Hong Kong.

是可以让观众看到呢

It can be shown to the audience.

其实不一定的

我觉得今年五月

是一个很重要的时刻

可以看到很多优秀的艺术

现在香港的现代艺术

比三年前更加有兴趣

More interested than three years ago.

所以这给我们一些激动

So this gives us some excitement.

但也让我们的存在

But it also allows our existence.

更加重要

作为一个抵抗力

As a resistance force.

未必对市场有兴趣的事情

可以让很多人一起参与

是一个很好的机会

It is a great opportunity.

过去我也很少有这么大型

I rarely had such a large one in the past.

400多个人一起去集体创作

More than 400 people went together to create collectively.

每个人做自己一部分

Everyone does their part.

一合在一起

Put together.

就变成一件整体的艺术品

It becomes a complete work of art.

所以我觉得这件事情

So I think this matter

是很有意思的

It is very interesting.

我就觉得很震撼

I found it very shocking.

其实第一句我就说

要用很多钱的

It requires a lot of money.

很多人力、物力

我都是搞社群艺术的

Possibly entertaining

Some grandmothers sing those songs.

那为什么那些不是一个文化活动

Then why aren't those considered a cultural activity?

我们可以在那里发挥得多一点

We can perform a bit better there.

所以我觉得其实那个地方不是没有

So I think that place actually does exist.

但是其实本身我们的制度

But actually, our system itself...

使得那些空间不可以发生这些事

Make it so that those spaces cannot allow these things to happen.

这里有个厅

搞音樂搞文化的東西

Making music and cultural things.

然後我們就擺盡一切就行了

Then we just need to do everything we can.

但是很老實的

But to be honest,

如果我們在觀塘搞一個Live House

If we set up a Live House in Kwun Tong.

假設他們有一個地方讓我們搬進去

Assuming they have a place for us to move into.

其實整件事已經不同了

Actually, the whole thing has changed.

音樂節其實不只是音樂

Music festivals are actually not just about music.

因為我們喜歡音樂的人都會覺得說音樂是生活風格

Because we people who love music all feel that music is a lifestyle.

它是一個生活方式

那音樂節就是把這個生活方式具體的呈現

That music festival specifically presents this way of life.

那香港去年底

That Hong Kong at the end of last year.

我覺得自己共同其實很看到

I feel that I can actually see myself together.

這三個戶外音樂節都在新九龍出現

These three outdoor music festivals all took place in New Kowloon.

都非常熱鬧

而且特色我想各自不同

可是我其實有點擔心一個事情是

所有香港人都去

All Hong Kong people go.

非常熱鬧

Very lively.

可是平常書店是非常辛苦的在經營

However, operating a bookstore is very challenging on a regular basis.

在掙扎

同樣音樂節我也會擔心會變這樣

I would also worry that the same music festival would turn out like this.

大概平常對於這些真正的新的Original Music

Probably usually regarding these truly new Original Music.

這種獨立音樂也好

This kind of independent music is also good.

是沒有一個好的一個環境去支持它的

There is no good environment to support it.

我覺得很大部分就是缺乏那個空間

I think a large part of it is the lack of that space.

不管是培養這些Artist

No matter whether it is cultivating these artists.

或者讓Artist跟他們的Fans有機會互動

Or let the artists have the opportunity to interact with their fans.

形成一個令音樂的Community

Forming a community for music.

這個是非常重要的

This is very important.

西九要有蓬勃的活動

West Kowloon needs to have vibrant activities.

大前提就是香港民間要有空間

The major premise is that there must be space for the people of Hong Kong.
