应该是今年其中一本出版界

也是一本最突出的其中一本在设计上

因为这本书叫《香港物质救足香港的书法》

Because this book is called "Hong Kong Material Saves Hong Kong's Calligraphy."

包括欧建功 谢熹 卓绍恒和黎一鸣

Including Ou Jiangong, Xie Xi, Zhuo Shaoheng, and Li Yiming.

其实物质这个计划

In fact, this plan is about material.

就源自于疫情期间

It originated from the pandemic period.

大概是2019年左右

Around 2019.

当时其实我自己学习书法都有接近十年

At that time, I had actually been learning calligraphy for nearly ten years.

但是一直以来都是临一些古人

But all along, it has been about approaching some ancient people.

或者一些名的碑帖

Or some famous steles.

也都自己开始学习书法

They also started to learn calligraphy by themselves.

其实就是受到

Actually, it is just influenced by.

我们城市有很多很漂亮的书法所吸引而开始的

Our city has many beautiful calligraphy showcases that attracted me to start.

但是一直都没有机会

But there has never been an opportunity.

真的去研究一下香港

Really go study about Hong Kong.

我们市面上见到的

What we see on the market.

比如说招牌 石刻

For example, a sign or stone carving.

或者一些碑名

Or some stele inscriptions.

究竟它背后的书法家的故事是怎样的呢

What is the story of the calligrapher behind it?

疫情期间自己公司的生意又下滑

During the pandemic, my company's business has declined again.

教务也是转为我们那时候Zoom lecture

The academic affairs office also switched to Zoom lectures for us at that time.

所以有空闲的时间就可以

So if there's free time, I can do it.

开始这个项目

Start this project.

至于为什么会选这四位书法家呢

As for why these four calligraphers were chosen,

其实一开始

Actually, in the beginning.

物质是一个范围比较广的研究

Material is a relatively broad area of research.

我们当时的定位就是研究

The art of applied calligraphy in China.

在香港如何和城市互动

How to interact with the city in Hong Kong.

当初有十几位书法家

At the beginning, there were more than a dozen calligraphers.

我们都有研究过

We have all researched it.

包括可能是前称的一些汉林

Including some Hanlin that may possibly have had previous names.

有功名的太子

The prince with accomplishments.

包括可能是朱宇贞太子

Including possibly Crown Prince Zhu Yuzhen.

岑光月太子等等

Cen Guangyue, the Crown Prince, etc.

后来也有研究我们现在这四位

Later, there were also studies on the four of us now.

一样的商业书法家

The same business calligrapher.

因为古代的或者是前称的学者

Because ancient or formerly known scholars

其实他们士农工商分得很清楚

In fact, they have clearly divided the roles of scholars, farmers, craftsmen, and merchants.

收钱帮人家写书法

Get paid to write calligraphy for others.

多多少少都有些抗拒

To some extent, there is a bit of resistance.

也有很多时候

比如说欧建公是我们本书四位书法家

For example, Ou Jiangong is one of the four calligraphers in our book.

最年长的一位

很多时候他和这些前称汉林

Many times he referred to these as Hanlin.

其实是同期的

稍微年轻一点

有一些商家找那些前称汉林写书法的时候

Some merchants look for those who used to write calligraphy under the name Hanlin.

如果他们不想接

就会转介给欧建公

而这一种方式或者这种转介

就进一步令到欧建公

基本上是可以称霸了当年商业

也将书法艺术普及了给欧建公

慢慢我们将研究的定位

而这四位书法家

我们就根据三十到八十年代

不同年代去划分

我们都知道其实欧建公

We all know that actually, Ou Jian Gong...

都是其中一个很著名的书法家

They are both very famous calligraphers.

因为我猜很多人认识他

Because I guess many people know him.

都是和招牌有关

It's all related to the sign.

当然在你面前要请教你

就是他的风格

或者招牌书法上的特色是怎样

可能特别一点

It might be a little special.

我是一个理科人

I am a science person.

我在高中的时候选读理科

I chose to study science in high school.

可能和很多书友有点不同

It might be a bit different from many book friends.

而理科的人可能会比较理性一点

Scientific-minded people may be a bit more rational.

这一点其实和欧建公

This point actually relates to Ou Jiankong.

有点类似

A bit similar.

因为欧先生他本身

Because Mr. Ou himself

他的外公是一名忠义

His grandfather is a loyal and righteous person.

他师承他的外公

He is taught by his grandfather.

所以他也是一名忠义

So he is also a loyal and righteous person.

对于不同的书体或者风格

For different fonts or styles.

他也是采取一个很理性的方式

He also adopts a very rational approach.

去解剖去分析

Go dissect and analyze.

欧老师除了老香港认识

那种字体非常紧密

其实有很多很多

因为当时有一个传言

Because there was a rumor at that time.

就是说

要可以写到大字的书法家

A calligrapher who can write in large characters.

才可以写到招牌

为什么写大字这么重要

Why is writing large characters so important?

就是因为以前没有放大缩小

究竟他是怎么写的

How exactly did he write it?

我们也有问过

欧老师他以前的助手

原来是把几支大笔

可从中观摩欧体的紧密

If the original text is written too small.

那个字的笔力

The brushwork of that character.

The momentum of writing cannot be captured in words.

但是如果写得太大

But if it's written too large

将原稿缩小了之后

After shrinking the original manuscript

那些字就会粘在一起

Those characters will stick together.

所以他们就通过不同的实验

So they conducted different experiments.

约莫是三倍的原稿大小

Approximately three times the size of the original manuscript.

写完之后一缩

After finishing writing, shrink it down.

The Chinese characters just mentioned.

可能有几千个字才会

It may take several thousand words.

可以成为一套字体

Can become a font.

所以香港就有这个空窗期

So Hong Kong has this window period.
