隧道巴士103的确有很大段路

The tunnel bus 103 does indeed have a long route.

就是在高街这附近开始的

其實這個地方並不是鬼屋

Actually, this place is not a haunted house.

最初是外籍醫護人員的宿舍

It was initially a dormitory for foreign medical staff.

後來被徵用為隔離精神病院

Later requisitioned as a quarantine psychiatric hospital.

很可能因為晚上

It is very likely because of the evening.

有一些精神科病人在叫號

Some psychiatric patients are calling out.

附近的居民覺得好像有鬼

The nearby residents feel as if there is a ghost.

所以就稱它為鬼屋

So it is called a haunted house.

剛好夾在搬行道的假中產

Just caught in the middle of the搬行道's fake middle class.

與第三階的真基層中間

Between the true grassroots of the third level.

高階盡一把機遁扯後的掠刀

The high-level escape mechanism draws back the sweeping blade.

無論切什麼都無法一刀兩斷

No matter what you cut, it cannot be severed in one stroke.

左拖泥右帶水

Dragging mud on the left, carrying water on the right

刀的兩面秀色掩映

The beauty of the blade is reflected on both sides.

含混著半山殘餘的零星貴氣

Amid the remnants of scattered luxury at half-mountain.

和海旁霧氣的點滴聲風

The sound of droplets in the mist by the sea.

我自己將它寫入散文裡

I will write it into the essay myself.

不是因為它有鬼

It's not because it has ghosts.

而是因為

but because

它真是很漂亮、很強烈的歷史感

It really has a beautiful and strong sense of history.

我們現在來到

We have now arrived at

英皇坐墊五世紀念公園

Emperor's Cushion Fifth Century Memorial Park

而且這個公園歷史悠久

Moreover, this park has a long history.

在1936年已經蓋好了

It was already built in 1936.

除了一個足球場、一個籃球場

Besides a football field and a basketball court.

還有一點點的花草、遊樂場

There are still a few flowers, grass, and a playground.

就是這樣而已

That's all there is to it.

但是因為它很小

But because it is very small.

所以除了西元盤的街坊之外

So apart from the neighborhood of the Western Era Plate.

是沒有什麼人認識的

There aren't many people who know.

公園依山而建

The park is built against the mountain.

位於三街以南、高街以北

上對鬼屋的方柱圓拱花崗石門廊

下臨專門迎接嬰兒的贊育醫院

A special maternity hospital dedicated to welcoming newborns.

不過三五球場和幾個滑梯千秋

不多時就都走完了

It didn't take long before they all left.

這裡就是西元盤的正街

This is the main street of the Western Yuan section.

正街就是我們讀過《張愛玲的傾城之戀》

以前就是一個街市

他們就在這裡買菜

我讀到那裡就很有感受

I felt very touched when I read that part.

因為我自己住在附近

Because I live nearby.

有一天他們又回到

One day they returned again.

原來在街上買菜

我一家人都在這裡洗禮

My whole family is getting baptized here.

我自己因為住在高街很久

I have been living on High Street for a long time myself.

很喜歡高街

I really like high streets.

我特別為高街寫了一篇散文

I specifically wrote an essay for the high street.

我來聚會了十年的教會

I have been attending this church for ten years.

救恩堂

Salvation Church

坐在教堂內

Sitting inside the church.

可以看見聖壇前面

You can see in front of the altar.

是淡紫色的半透光玻璃窗頁組成的圖案

It is a pattern made up of light purple translucent glass window panes.

那種玻璃的顏色

The color of that glass.

如同清晨帶露的背光牽牛花

Like the morning glory bathed in dew under the backlight.

救恩堂在1852年已經建造

The Church of Salvation was built in 1852.

當時是由瑞士的宣教士

At that time, it was Swiss missionaries.

巴適差會所建的

Built by the Bashu Club.

它是歌德式的建築

It is Gothic architecture.

在香港已經是絕無僅有的

It is already one of a kind in Hong Kong.

這麼漂亮的教會

Such a beautiful church.

當時是一個客家的教會

At that time, it was a Hakka church.

只是客家人來聚會

It's just a gathering of Hakka people.

廣道也是用客家話的

Guangdao is also in Hakka.

但時至今日

But today

救恩堂已經變成一個很年輕的廣東人的教堂

The Salvation Church has become a church for very young Cantonese people.

我們看了裡面很漂亮

We saw that it was very beautiful inside.

其實裡面有很多內拱門

Actually, there are many inner archways inside.

在十字架的後面

Behind the cross.

我們看到很漂亮的紫色玻璃

We saw very beautiful purple glass.

這些紫色的玻璃

These purple glass pieces.

你現在看到很漂亮

You look very beautiful right now.

其實當初是更加漂亮的

Actually, it was even more beautiful back then.

那個紫色是很淡的紫色

That purple is a very light shade of purple.

好像早上的牽牛花那樣

我也提過救恩堂在這一帶

其實我的靈感是來自西邊街這條斜路

Actually, my inspiration comes from the slanted road on the west side.

上高的一間紙紮店

A paper effigy shop in Shangao.

因為每逢中秋它就會紮很多花燈

Because every Mid-Autumn Festival, it will make many lanterns.

真是那些傳統的古老手紮花燈在賣

It's those traditional old handmade lanterns that are for sale.

我很受它吸引

I am very attracted to it.

但是我因為所寫的主題

But because of the topic I wrote about

牽涉到社會的變遷

Involves social changes.

店舖的變遷

Changes in the shop.

還有人的生死

And there are people's lives and deaths.

所以周圍的環境我是作出來的

So the surrounding environment I created is artificial.

那條街其實並不存在

That street actually doesn't exist.

但是那間紙紮店其實是西邊街的紙紮店

But that paper offering shop is actually the paper offering shop on West Street.

但是現在那間紙紮店

But now that paper shop

我也不知道它還有沒有繼續賣以前的花燈

I also don't know if they are still selling the old lanterns.

或者已經改賣了那些膠的

Or they have already started selling those plastics.
