GISLN29 - Mobiliteit
Welkom bij jullie favoriete fitnesspodcast.
Welcome to your favorite fitness podcast.
Dit is Get In Shape Late Night.
This is Get In Shape Late Night.
Welcome to yet another new episode of Get In Shape Late Night.
Ondertussen zitten we aan aflevering 29.
In the meantime, we are on episode 29.
And today we have a new guest, Matthias Brammer from Lift Your Performance.
Goeienavond Matthias.
Good evening Matthias. Actually, it is evening in the podcast.
Oké, goed.
Okay, good.
Ik ga het licht uitdoen.
I'm going to turn off the light.
Goed. Matthias, vertel eens wat meer over jezelf. Wie ben jij en wat doe jij?
Good. Matthias, tell us a bit more about yourself. Who are you and what do you do?
Hey, dag Gies.
Hey, hi Gies. First of all, thank you for having me as a guest on your podcast.
And I am indeed Matthias. I am a physiotherapist and manual therapist, practicing in the clinic, actually.
En daarnaast woon ik in Mechelen.
And besides, I live in Mechelen.
And I have recently started a digital video platform with mobility training.
En dat...
And that...
On my online platform, I actually want to make mobility training accessible to everyone.
so that you can actually take more control over your own body
and can minimize the risk of pressures in sports and movement.
Mooi.
Beautiful.
Is mobility something that is underestimated, for example strength training?
Denk het wel.
I think so.
Yes, I am actually quite sure of it.
Als ik eigenlijk mobiliteit...
If I actually mobility...
Explaining is really simply put the total freedom of movement that you have in your joints and muscles.
en die je lichaam heel erg toelaat.
and that very much allows your body.
And that is what you need as a basis to start doing strength training.
And in that way, it is also the foundation you need to be pain-free.
maar ook om progressie te maken net.
but also to make progress just.
You can really see it as the physical foundation for movement.
So actually, for example, take now, I have a client, I let them squat,
die techniek.
that technique.
It's perfect, but that client doesn't go deep enough.
Is that likely often a mobility issue, or not?
Ja, klopt.
Yes, that's correct.
Because if you actually can't, or you notice that anyway,
to move through your full range of motion,
then your body will have to compensate elsewhere.
Meestal een zone erboven of eronder.
Usually a zone above or below it.
And as a result, you also have an increased risk of injuries.
of vervroegde verouderingsprocessen.
or accelerated aging processes.
Because we are all subject to aging, unfortunately.
En training is daar net voor.
And training is just for that.
Alles sterker maken in het lichaam is beter.
Making everything stronger in the body is better.
Dus dat is super interessant.
So that is super interesting.
But yes, we obviously have to make sure that we don't suffer any injuries or risk injuries there,
because then we would just be able to get ourselves out of that training cycle.
En dat is natuurlijk niet fijn.
And that's certainly not nice.
And that's why it's super interesting for me to make those mobility training sessions accessible.
And to chat about it here with you.
And that really applies to both young and old.
Because I myself am also guilty of really 0.0 in mobility, for example.
Dat gaan we zien veranderen na vandaag.
We're going to see that change after today.
I have clients who are very much involved with that.
Before their squats, do a ton of warm-up exercises and try to loosen everything up.
I’m really the kind of person who’s, yeah, actually really into heads.
Ik weet wel hoe ik moet trainen.
I know how to train.
Ik doe hier twee opwarmsets squats.
I do two warm-up sets of squats here.
I'm going straight to a heavy weight and I'm going to hit it for three sets.
Actually, it's probably the dumbest thing you can do.
Het is op zich.
It is in itself.
What I do hear, but I find that definitely good.
So that's definitely a big thumbs up.
Is that you saying that you won't start right away and want to go for a Europe wait with me, like speaking?
But that you sometimes just let your body start moving.
So maybe you could try a squat without weight for a moment.
Misschien iets wat trager gaat uitvoeren.
Maybe something that will be done a bit slower.
To raise that intensity so quietly.
Dat lichaam eraan gewond te laten worden.
Letting that body get hurt.
Die neurale prikkeling te geven.
To provide that neural stimulation.
So that your body knows, okay, in this movement I really have to go.
En dat je daar dan naartoe gaat.
And that you then go there.
So that is actually also a form of mobility in itself.
Very specifically to start integrating for your squat.
But you can elaborate on it a bit further.
Dat wel natuurlijk.
Of course.
Because that is probably quite extensive in terms of mobility.
To work on it yourself or to get started with it yourself.
You probably already know a lot about the human body.
And that knowledge is likely to be lacking in many people.
Ik denk dat...
I think that...
Maybe it could be a tip to approach trainers, for example.
Or indeed, I don't think everyone recognizes themselves in that way either.
Because I think there is already a big shift going on towards trainers.
That really does want to develop more of a well-rounded knowledge.
To guide their customers towards performance as best as possible.
But really, aside from focusing on the lats, the chest muscles, really the large superficial muscles.
And making this strong and functional, I think it is also very important to look at the smaller movements that occur around the spine between the ribs and the local movements that are then possible.
And that mobility is actually essential to maintain, to stimulate a bit, to keep loose.
Because then you will simply be able to achieve even more training results.
So that seems to me a win-win situation where we might try to clarify things here today.
Ja, maar in een video.
Yes, but in a video.
Well, I also think it will push me a bit over the threshold to look more into mobility.
But for many people who have never heard of it, mobility and flexibility.
Is that somewhat in line or is it something completely different?
I think that with flexibility, there is often focus on passive stretching.
And that is not at all what mobility actually is...
Opslaagt, zal ik maar zeggen.
I'll just say it's saved.
Mobility is really about the active part of your body towards movement.
And your flexibility, I might say, or the agility of bending down over your hamstrings or something.
You can certainly enhance that by passively stretching.
Maar ook voor het functionele behoud ervan.
But also for its functional preservation.
En dat lijkt me toch altijd een must.
And that's always a must for me.
Because you can stretch a rubber band.
Die uittrekken.
Take that off.
But it will eventually go back to its original length.
So if we really want to have control over that, then you will have to add some kind of strength component to it.
And that could be, for example, that you passively stretch your hamstrings.
But then you can complement that with, for example, a bodyweight Romanian deadlift or something like that.
So you are actually going to implement a force component in that.
And this way you can also work on its preservation.
En dan ga je die mobiliteit...
And then you are going to that mobility...
And then you can also use it functionally.
And that seems to me just the beauty, the harmony also between flexibility and strength.
And in between, there is really the part of mobility.
Dat je de baas bent ervan.
That you are in charge of it.
Heb je een voorbeeld van een mobiliteitsprobleem?
Do you have an example of a mobility problem?
Something that often occurs perhaps in practice, do you take with strength athletes?
Ja, ik denk...
Yes, I think...
Lord and day in practice, it is still quite remarkable to me.
And that is also a reason why it has leaned towards really delving deeper.
on creating the mobility video platform, so to speak.
To increase that impact, so that more people can become aware of it.
Those are the lower back complaints or the shoulder and neck movement complaints.
So if we look at the shoulder, I think that is definitely recognizable.
also where we can talk to people who train a lot and also towards bodybuilders.
Is dan eigenlijk...
Is then actually...
Dus stel over de schouders.
So put it over the shoulders.
We zitten gewoon zoveel uren tijdens een dag.
We just sit for so many hours during a day.
And we actually underestimate how often we are still in the same position.
And that is not naturally conscious, but is largely due to the society we live in.
So we are sitting in the car, by the horse fall, in the chair.
If you want to meet up with friends, we can just go sit somewhere else.
But then we are actually still in those same positions.
And this naturally leads to certain imbalances between on the one hand strength and on the other hand...
The stiffness of muscles originates in the body.
You could actually say that the body always adapts to the load you put on it.
You might recognize that, because you are of course not born as a bodybuilder or as a truly trained muscular guy or woman.
Then you must of course train consistently and provide your body with the right movement stimulus.
growing and adapting in a consistent manner.
But that's also the case with sitting or being in that conquered dominant position, so to speak.
Or only train on your chest, not...
Looking at the bigger picture, your body will adapt to it.
And that stiffness will then arise, for example, in the upper quadrant, in the chest muscle, in that shoulder-neck line muscle.
Just say in the upper trap, in the levator, and in the chest.
And that weakness will primarily occur in the serratus anterior, the middle trapezius, the lower trapezius, and the deep neck flexors.
And it is actually that imbalance between stiffness and shortening and not using and weakening.
that can actually lead to complaints in itself.
Of that stiffness of muscles, increased pressure between spinal zones by, for example, engaging more in that forward position.
En anderzijds zal dat leiden... Ja, goed.
And on the other hand, that will lead... Yes, good.
Will that also lead to more unsuitable movement patterns, which in turn could be responsible for pain during movements?
For example, something you will recognize is that people experience pain in the shoulder during the bench press, for instance.
And that can lead to an increased risk of injuries or that you simply stop doing those exercises altogether.
En dat is ook geen enkele bedoeling.
And that is not the intention at all.
And that is actually even more important.
If you're going to load those movements heavier again, then it's just going to give even more risk.
So it can lead to complaints in itself or be responsible for unsuitable movement patterns.
Dus ik denk dat dat... Ik hoop dat dat duidelijk is.
So I think that... I hope that is clear.
I would like to say it again in a nutshell.
Dat samengevat, de spier disbalans...
That summarized, the muscle imbalance...
Dat zorgt eigenlijk voor die beperkte mobiliteit.
That actually leads to that limited mobility.
And when you then train your shoulder with limited mobility, pain complaints will arise much faster.
Causing you to hinder your progress and just have pain.
Waar niemand natuurlijk pijn vindt.
Where no one naturally feels pain.
I already feel so guilty about everything you're saying.
You talk about being in a bad position.
I market, I'm sitting here hunched over with my shoulders forward.
En ik zit hier hele dagen zo.
And I sit here like this for whole days.
Actually, I should pay more attention to my posture.
Maar wat je aangaat...
But as far as you go...
Wat je aangaat van...
What concerns you about...
I think you saw that in one of your videos, could that be?
For people who often sit at desks on Instagram.
It's often content on Instagram, I say.
Ja, dat klopt.
Yes, that's correct.
It is actually there that we are trying to provide people with some loose tools or inspire them.
Look, you can really do something behind your desk to work on that mobility.
Ik ben eigenlijk heel groot fan van...
I'm actually a big fan of...
Zeg maar zo'n 30-30-principe.
Just say the 30-30 principle.
If you sit behind the computer for 30 minutes, focus on working with numbers or creating Excel sheets or PowerPoints, and so on.
Kruip daar dan maar in eigenlijk.
Well, just crawl in there then.
Just make sure you're busy with what you need to do.
But try to counter it every half hour or 40 minutes in the other movement.
the other extreme, giving in to the impulses of your body.
And then you simply become a fisherman again, and afterwards you can be productive again.
If you are doing that, instead of actually reaching back like that and dealing with it.
So I hope that we can really provide people with valuable content that they can actually start working with.
Dat klopt.
That's right.
Leuk dat je dat hebt opgemerkt.
Nice that you noticed that.
Have you watched the program Personal Trainers?
Op play 4 of de eerste aflevering.
On Play 4 or the first episode.
So basically what that one guy did there, when he starts his laptop in the morning,
He places his leg on it, and he starts doing a stretching exercise at his desk.
Actually, it wasn't that bad, but not then.
I don't think we should expand too much on the entire program.
But in itself, that's certainly not bad.
On the contrary, if you know that you're going to sit in one position all day,
Then it actually seems quite plausible and even good to me that you also stimulate your body in a different way once in a while.
And if you can do that while doing something else,
ja, keigoed.
Yes, really good.
Ik ben ook een heel grote fan.
I am also a very big fan.
For example, perhaps sit on the ground once a week and sit in different positions there.
At one point, you are just busy behind the computer.
But you actually sink more into positions, muscles adjust a bit more.
Barriers are being lifted, allowing you to have more mobility.
So I actually didn't think that was so bad, certainly not.
Dat heeft hij goed gedaan.
He did that well.
Yes, I suddenly see some positives in it now.
Een heel klein beetje dan.
Just a tiny bit then.
Now, what you just said, there are indeed, if you speak with an average person and you ask,
ja, hoe gaat het met jou?
Yes, how are you?
Nine out of ten times, or maybe not that extreme, but a lot of people will say,
ik heb weer last van mijn rug, mijn nek doet weer pijn, mijn schouders doen zoveel pijn.
I am having back pain again, my neck hurts again, my shoulders hurt so much.
Actually, that's really a deeply ingrained problem.
Ja.
Yes.
People then go to the doctor and receive a painkiller.
From here, that quiets the pain for a moment, that is the solution.
Maar dat is absoluut de oplossing.
But that is definitely the solution.
Eigenlijk is dat inderdaad jammer.
Actually, that's indeed a pity.
And certainly the second part that you mention.
Ja, er is eigenlijk...
Yes, there is actually...
I once heard from a professor, he explained something like this about the pain paradox.
En ik vond dat superinteressant.
And I found that super interesting.
And that basically means that, yes, your body is made to move.
And if you have pain, say from an injury, that could be a small inflammation,
Then, of course, you need to give the healing process some time.
But it is through movement that you know,
of dat die beschermingsreactie nog nodig is.
or whether that protective response is still necessary.
And if we then try to suppress or halt that,
or we’re going to say, we’re not going to move it,
then we actually often stay too long in that protective response,
waardoor we eigenlijk niet gaan bewegen.
which is why we actually don't move.
Because the key actually lies in the movement, I think.
And that is much cheaper, that solution as well.
Look, there was someone in the gym this morning,
die was met 140 kilo aan het benchen.
he was benching 140 kilos.
He says, yes, can you spot me once?
He says, yes, I don't get such a black one anymore.
Dat is waar als vroeger.
That's true as it was before.
Because I had three injections last week to numb the nerves.
In mijn rug, omdat ik altijd rugpijn heb.
In my back, because I always have back pain.
Ik heb er niet op ingegaan,
I didn't respond to it.
because I was probably going to discuss that for another two hours.
But it's really quite bad how the medical world
the present day is focused on back pain and neck pain but so played into it.
Ja, klopt.
Yes, that's correct.
And I think it might sometimes be wise too.
om er dan niet zo diep op in te gaan,
not to go into it so deeply,
want dat gaat een lange discussie zijn.
because that is going to be a long discussion.
And there may not be the ideal image for everyone from above, of course.
I think we are already making that shift very well.
naar beweging toe, preventief inzitten.
Towards movement, proactively engage.
We zitten gewoon in een curatieve maatschappij,
We simply live in a curative society,
waar we leven.
where we live.
And that is also true with, for example, cancers.
We know it is coming closer than ever.
Of ik merk dat toch.
Or I notice that anyway.
I hope I'm not the only one for whom that is closer to friends and surroundings.
En toch.
And yet.
Are we only aware of ourselves when we could have done something about it preventively?
En dat is misschien soms wel jammer.
And that is perhaps sometimes a pity.
And that's actually the same with mobility.
You can actually do a lot preventively to keep your body ready,
zodat je het beste eruit kan halen.
so that you can get the best out of it.
And that is really in preparation for that training.
If you want to train there, you need to be able to fully commit to it.
And it would be a shame if you run into problems then.
or just pushes it aside and continues anyway.
Because yes, I think you are standing by the end anyway.
And that is actually the first time that you will ever pass in a final match.
En dan is dat vaak erger.
And then that's often worse.
Actually, you can compare it to a gastric bypass.
Dus mensen willen hun gewicht verliezen,
So people want to lose weight,
but do not want to make the effort.
Dus gaan ze een operatie gaan doen.
So they are going to perform a surgery.
Where they ultimately still do not benefit from,
because they still don't know how to eat better.
Hetzelfde met mensen met rugklachten.
The same goes for people with back problems.
If they have something operated on directly in their knees or back,
while that actually would have been costs to the physiotherapist.
And worked to prepare their body for that or to make it stronger.
Dat is meer een long term.
That is more of a long term.
That is more of a long-term result ultimately.
Ja, exact.
Yes, exactly.
You indeed need to look at it in the short, medium, and long term as well.
En daar zit echt een gedragsverandering in.
And there is really a change in behavior.
Een life change.
A life change.
But that's partly because you have to be ready for it.
En daar ook wilt integreren.
And you also want to integrate there.
Stap voor stap.
Step by step.
Met succeservaringen eigenlijk, hoe jij zegt.
With successful experiences actually, as you say.
En sommige zaken,
And some things,
door de medische wereld,
through the medical world,
die zijn daarvoor ook niet slecht.
they're not bad for that either.
That they can intervene like that at the moment when it is really necessary.
Of echt...
Or really...
voor snelle verandering kunnen zorgen.
can cause rapid change.
But we must not continue to lean on that dependency.
I actually think it's a very good example of support insoles.
Die kunnen zeker helpen.
They can definitely help.
But try to engage and strengthen those foot muscles yourself a bit too.
Want het lichaam past zich eigenlijk.
Because the body actually adapts.
Ze gaan en worden sterker.
They go and become stronger.
So at least trying to keep those active components in it.
Because otherwise, you're just going to continue with those passive supporters.
But that can also be on medication, on orthotics, on...
op operaties kan dat eigenlijk.
That is actually possible in operations.
Dan ga je meer daarnaartoe getrokken worden.
Then you will be drawn more towards it.
And then that step simply becomes much bigger.
If that shift in the mind also needs to happen,
dat soms onmogelijk lijkt dan.
that sometimes seems impossible then.
Trouwens, interessant ook met de rug.
By the way, interesting also with the back.
Beeldvormingen zijn geweldig.
Image formations are great.
Ze zijn superaccuraat.
They are super accurate.
Geweldige uitvinding.
Great invention.
But that doesn't mean to dismiss everyone with the slightest back pain.
immediately, of course, to start looking into that imagery.
Want...
Because...
9% of back pains are still not resolved.
perfectly fit, so to speak, to what they see.
Dus...
So...
Dan gaat de hele tijd een belasting-belastbaarheid-verhaal komen.
Then there will be a constant story about tax capacity.
And also give the body the chance to heal itself again.
en te laten helen.
and to let heal.
And then you really often understand even more confidently.
Ik heb dat niet gedaan. Ik kan dat niet.
I didn't do that. I can't do that.
Die mindset wordt veel sterker.
That mindset becomes much stronger.
En dan...
And then...
Ja.
Yes.
Denk ik dat dat wel gezond is.
I think that's quite healthy.
How you bring that up, about the support, like that.
Dat doet mij terugdenken.
That makes me think back.
Ik heb nog vijf jaar triathlon gedaan.
I have done triathlon for another five years.
But then I had never heard of mobility.
or have never been to a physiotherapist.
En daar...
And there...
Iedereen die issues had bij het lopen,
Everyone who had issues with walking,
to his knees or to another muscle,
ging allemaal achter steun zo.
It all went behind support like that.
Maar was eigenlijk nooit daarmee verholpen.
But it was never really resolved with that.
Ze zagen het allemaal als een wondermiddel,
They all saw it as a miracle cure,
maar dat helpte echt voor niemand.
but that really helped no one.
Eindelijk moest ik dan gewoon gezegd hebben,
Finally, I should have just said,
go to a physiotherapist, look for the right exercise,
to adjust your body to your workload.
Dat ging eigenlijk een betere oplossing.
That actually went a better solution.
Maar dat wist ik dan nog niet.
But I didn't know that yet.
Nee, maar kijk, dat is het lichtje
No, but look, that's the little light.
hier in deze avond-podcast.
here in this evening podcast.
Dus naast kinesist,
So besides physiotherapist,
naast mensen gaan helpen in je praktijk,
besides helping people in your practice,
So you have also established an online platform?
om mensen te helpen met hun mobiliteit.
to help people with their mobility.
Juist?
Correct?
Ja, klopt.
Yes, that's correct.
En hoe gaat dat in zijn werk?
And how does that work?
Ze betalen een maandelijk fee
They pay a monthly fee.
And then do they get access to videos?
Ja, inderdaad.
Yes, indeed.
Het is natuurlijk nu...
It is of course now...
Het zijn kinderschoenen, zeg ik nog maar.
They are just children's shoes, I say again.
We zijn nu sinds 22 februari online gegaan.
We have been online since February 22.
Natuurlijk, daarvoor wel al keihard aan gewerkt,
Of course, I've already worked really hard for that.
een jaar of zo.
a year or so.
And the video platform now indeed offers on a monthly basis,
via je betaaltijd,
via your payment time,
or you can choose every three months or annually
een abonnement nemen, zeg maar.
to take a subscription, so to speak.
And then you have access to a whole database of videos.
die we eigenlijk ook updaten.
that we actually also update.
So you will always have access to the full content.
And those are actually all mobility-focused videos.
Ik doe die zelf mee.
I'm participating in that myself.
And I also try to provide a lot of education myself.
That you know what you need to feel, why you do something.
Because I really do think, to educate something,
to realize why you can do something in order to learn something.
that you will also integrate that yourself faster once.
And the videos are actually different too.
So that is a whole, let's say, basic division.
That you can really choose more for a release video,
die dat meer spanning gaat loslaten.
that will release more tension.
Dat is meer een iets langere stretch
That is more of a slightly longer stretch.
dat daar soms in wordt aangehouden.
that sometimes is held there.
Met dan een fijne aaneenschakeling
Then with a nice connection.
with dynamic movements on the vertebrae and the zones,
the top and the bottom of the zone that you choose.
Als ook heb je meer dynamischere flows,
You also have more dynamic flows,
die je dan weer uiteraard meer soorten,
that you will naturally have more types of,
or do during the day to give an energy boost,
to allow the more dynamic flow to proceed.
And then we actually filmed a whole physiotherapy section, so to speak.
So that we can really target tests that you can do on the neck, the shoulder.
It is also always a personal idea that I better the network money, sorry.
Maar ik zet er altijd dit in.
But I always put this in.
So that you can really test every zone of your body,
naar zijn bewegelijkheid toe.
towards his mobility.
Dus naar de mobiliteit ervan toe.
So, regarding its mobility.
And then you can see where you fail.
And there you have accompanying videos as separate exercises.
die ik mooi uitleg, kort.
that I explain nicely, briefly.
Echt een breakdown, zal ik maar zeggen.
Really a breakdown, I suppose.
And then you choose the ones who are the most restricted.
of die je het meeste moeite kosten.
or that will cost you the most effort.
And so you actually have a treatment plan that you can create.
And so you can personally apply that consistently.
want dat is eigenlijk de name of the game,
because that is actually the name of the game,
that you will definitely notice that you can achieve a consistent improvement in it.
En dan kan je dat gewoon hertesten.
And then you can just retest that.
And seeing that, okay, I can hang on.
I'm doing quite well now, that I can lift my arm up.
That it doesn't have a disrespectful feeling here, for example.
And then you can, if you want to take the time,
explore another area of your body.
om je daarin te verbeteren.
to improve yourself in that.
In addition to those three parts, we have also made videos for behind the desk.
Dus echt gericht op de bureauwerker.
So really aimed at the office worker.
Korte pauzes.
Short breaks.
Korte mobiliteitsflows.
Short mobility flows.
Die je kan toepassen achter de bureau.
That you can apply behind the desk.
And so we are actually trying to provide a location- and time-independent platform,
that you can truly feed on the needs you have to work on that mobility.
And I think that was a good starting point for our platform to begin with.
Dat klinkt eigenlijk echt wel interessant.
That actually sounds really interesting.
Maar nu ben ik ook heel zeker,
But now I am also very sure,
that there are going to be a lot of people who will watch or listen to this podcast,
die daar kop heen gaan zijn.
that head is going there.
They will say, but I have no issues, I train perfectly.
I think that such people would only resort to something like that if they actually have complaints.
Maar dat is niet de bedoeling, waarschijnlijk.
But that's probably not the intention.
How can you convince people who have no complaints to still work on their mobility?
I hope, on the one hand, with the beginning of the video that it is the basis.
And you better prevent it than to later actually encounter a limitation due to an injury.
and then actually have a whole relapse to do and then really work towards it purposefully.
On the other hand, if you don't have an acute problem, because that's what we are discussing now,
Then I think many people might relate more to a zone.
of een deel van hun lichaam.
or a part of their body.
Where they still say, I am a little more sensitive to it.
I know that sometimes my lower back hurts a bit after walking.
Or I have been experiencing some complaints in my neck after a stressful period of work here.
dat wat hoofdpijn kan geven ofzo.
that which can cause headaches or something.
And for that, we actually created more of those flows and those releases, I would say.
That it's really a video, like a workout that you watch, an online workout,
maar dan echt naar mobiliteit toe.
but then really towards mobility.
Die je motiveren.
To motivate you.
En die je eigenlijk een probleem zetten.
And that actually gets you in trouble.
And that also makes you feel a bit good.
So that you really think, okay, yes, look, I have this under control myself.
En ik geloof er echt in.
And I really believe in it.
Instead of first having to fail by letting people experience contrasts to success experiences.
And looking at it, hey, those are my capabilities here myself.
Ik kan dat onderhouden.
I can maintain that.
Ik kan dat behouden.
I can keep that.
I can see that I can just keep doing what I love to do.
And even derive more joy from it.
Because I can even take that to a higher level.
Ja.
Yes.
Dat die motivatie eigenlijk zelf gaat groeien.
That motivation will actually grow by itself.
And that you will notice for yourself, okay, this is something I can use again.
Ja.
Yes.
Ik denk dat wel.
I think so.
Ik hoop dat.
I hope that.
Ik hoop dat ook.
I hope so too.
Ik geloof er eigenlijk sowieso wel in.
I actually do believe in it anyway.
Neem nu.
Take now.
I said, I am going to join your platform.
How much time should I spend per day or per week on mobility to achieve effective results?
uit te halen?
to take out?
Ja.
Yes.
dat er eigenlijk twee zaken
that there are actually two matters
fundamenteel zijn van heb je een probleem
To be fundamental, you have a problem.
dan zou ik echt op die
then I would really be on that
testen en dan die target
test and then that target
Just let me know how it works on our platform now.
that you really look at okay can I specifically
mijn probleem gaan achterhalen
identifying my problem
and I also know that those exercises are specific to that purpose
voor om dat te verbeteren
to improve that
en die oefeningen dan
and those exercises then
I would say okay for those two or three exercises.
consistent uit
consistent out
elke dag probeer die
every day I try that
s'avonds er net voor te
in the evening just before it
ja s'avonds erna je
Yes, the evening after you.
dag implementeren of s'ochtends er even
day implementing or in the morning just for a moment
voor
for
to then look at okay I have improvements there
but you really have to start working on that consistently
but then you shouldn't take it too broadly and do you then have
geen acuut probleem maar heb je weer
no acute problem but you have it again
a zone you know, this is where I'm from
more sensitive to than I would rather go for such a flow
"Going to look then I would say if you are already there two"
tot drie keer per week toe komt
up to three times a week
om jezelf daarop te trakteren
to treat yourself to that
en je lichaam die prikkel
and your body that stimulus
naar mobiliteit op een low low
to mobility on a low low
that is a low low way of training
zeg maar naar mobiliteitsverbetering
say towards mobility improvement
te geven
to give
that that is really quite enough it is not the intention
om dat je elke dag
because you every day
die flows erbij moet gaan doen
that flows has to be added to it
om dan
to then
you're going to add some more sports in that busy schedule
dagplanning
day planning
that is certainly not necessary, it is of course also
weer anders
again different
ben je
are you
iemand die
someone who
zwaar traint maar eigenlijk
trains hard but actually
als dakwerker
as a roofer
fungeert
functions
Are you someone who trains hard and actually
heel de dag met financiën
the whole day with finances
you are busy behind the computer that is then again
twee uitersten van personen
two extremes of individuals
those who will also start to feel their body differently
en je ook in een andere vakje
and you also in another box
terecht gaan komen naar oplossing toe
come to a solution
dus
so
hoeveel tijd moet je daarbij doorbrengen
how much time do you need to spend on that
de tijd
the time
dat je nodig hebt om je lichaam
that you need for your body
beter te laten worden denk ik
I think it's better to let it become.
dus dat kan
so that can
eigenlijk gaan van elke dag vijf
actually, five go from each day
minuutjes naar elke dag
minutes to each day
een half uur of meer
half an hour or more
meer dan een half uur
more than half an hour
denk ik dat zeker niet nodig zijn
I don't think that's necessary at all.
ik heb ook mijn flows zo opgericht
I have also set up my flows like this.
dat die echt doelgericht
that it is truly goal-oriented
werken en ook als je een paar
working and also if you have a few
oefeningen kiest kan je echt wel met
you can really do with the exercises you choose
drie, vier tal oefeningen
three, four language exercises
max
max
Twenty minutes definitely has a very large effect.
hebben twee, drie keer per week
have two or three times a week
hoeveel tijd steken ze aan hun mobiliteit
how much time do they spend on their mobility
natuurlijk ben ik ook niet heilig
Of course, I'm not holy either.
niemand is heilig
nobody is sacred
so it's not for every training that I'm going to do
of dat ik
or that I
een hele mobiliteitsflow ga doen
to implement a whole mobility flow
maar ik probeer wel naar opwarming toe
but I am trying to move towards warming
specifiek die mobiliteitscomponent daarin te gaan zetten
specifically to incorporate that mobility component in it
dat zeker wel
that's for sure
en ook
and also
what I actually get a lot of pleasure from
is ik probeer dagelijks
I try daily.
and especially on days that are really busy, let's say
I try to do some cardio in the morning.
We have a cross trainer at home.
so I'm trying to sit on that for a moment
to clear that head for a moment, right?
ehm
uhm
mentaal een boost stellen zeg maar
mentally giving a boost, let's say
en dan ehm
and then, um
oftewel meerder iets rustiger
or somewhat calmer
naar de mobiliteitsflow
to the mobility flow
ja
yes
ik doe heel goed softwares
I do very good software.
zeker iets aanraden
definitely recommend something
In my opinion, you are even more focused on mobility than you think.
Are they busy making videos for that platform?
Eventually, you are also performing that exercise.
ja
yes
you can't forget to include that
and of course I also have the advantage
ehm
uhm
the people I train in practice
daar beginnen wij altijd met mobiliteit
There we always start with mobility.
en ik train wel ehm
and I do train, um
zeker één reeks altijd mee
certainly always take one series along
dus dat is eigenlijk
so that is actually
ehm
uhm
ja
yes
superleuk om te doen
super fun to do
because then you actually keep moving yourself
en jezelf kunt acteren op een bewegingspikkel
and you can act yourself on a movement peak
waaraan je goestingen hebt
what you have desires for
het klinkt wel als
it does sound like
a solution for many problems that can really help
want de
because the
the dap of okay mobility will take some time
you just have to learn to implement it in your day like any other activity
maar er zijn toch ongelofelijk veel mensen
but there are still incredibly many people
die naar
that to
Cupping and such things are starting to catch on.
dat is precies de nieuwe mode van
that is exactly the new trend of
to look like a mushroom on Instagram
with your back full of tree, and then thinking of
wauw, ik ben hier helemaal genezen
Wow, I am completely healed here.
van al mijn kwaaltjes, is dat zo?
Of all my ailments, is that so?
Ik denk dat
I think that
quick fix is enerzijds
quick fix is on the one hand
what then for example in practice with us
kan zijn als een manipulatie
can be like manipulation
voor het psychologische aspect
for the psychological aspect
voor het placebo aspect
for the placebo aspect
heel krachtig is
very powerful is
soms misschien zelfs krachtiger
sometimes perhaps even stronger
dan de behandeling zelf, het placebo effect
than the treatment itself, the placebo effect
mogen we echt niet onderschatten
we really must not underestimate
maar inderdaad, ook
but indeed, also
je ziet
you see
ook als paddenstoelen uit de grond
also like mushrooms from the ground
hulpmiddelen tevoorschijn komen
to bring out tools
zoals terraguns en
such as terraguns and
kupping en
cupping and
allerlei foameren ons in de tijd
various things foam us in time
bepaalde
certain
megacool messen waarbij je
megacool knives where you
je eigen losmaakt
you let go of yourself
dat scraping noemen ze dat toch?
They call that scraping, right?
wow, dat heb ik nog nooit gezien
wow, I have never seen that before
is dat iets dat
is that something that
ik gemist heb ofzo
I missed something or something like that.
but I think we can all put that under one umbrella
als gewoon één doosje
like just one box
van
of
aanvullende manieren
additional ways
en technieken die bestaan
and techniques that exist
where none is superior to the other
die kunnen hulp bieden
they can offer help
bij iemand dat dat nood aan heeft
to someone who needs that urgency
ja
yes
dus ze geloven dat
so they believe that
Does that coupling have any use somewhere or not?
in het feit van
in the fact of
maar het
but it
het zal
it will
iets doen
to do something
ik denk
I think
ik heb mij daar ook niet
I haven't either there.
verdiepend, het er ook niet
deepening, it is not there either
geïnteresseerd te zijn om het te doen
interested in doing it
zal ik ň
Shall I?
zeggen mezelf
telling myself

ik denk dat
I think that
het zal

het zal door Tul เพ
It will be through Tul.

to say that he is a radiologist

ik heb me genoegen om
I have settled for

The phrase appears to contain mixed elements that don't seem to form a coherent Dutch sentence. If you meant to ask for a proper translation of a specific Dutch phrase, please provide the correct Dutch text.
Maar ik wil er wel aan toevoegen. Werkt dat voor jou?
But I do want to add to that. Does that work for you?
Ja, dan zou ik dat niet laten.
Yes, then I wouldn't miss that.
If you can keep pushing for the payment of that,
de tijd die dat kost en dergelijke.
the time it takes and such.
When I used to play tennis and I won a match.
and I could get further in the tournament
en ik had dat broekje aan,
and I was wearing those shorts,
Then I would also wear that shorts again for the next match.
Ging dat mij beter laten spelen? Dat denk ik ook niet.
Would that make me play better? I don't think so either.
There are also many placebo supplements that work well.
As long as it does something in your mind.
I say it, when my clients have issues,
I will never tell them myself to do cupping once.
or that I would have their body completely scraped with a knife.
Then I will always say, contact a physiotherapist.
Or I might refer them sooner.
in mijn hoofdvorm ook. Of naar jou.
In my mind too. Or to you.
Dat zou zeker goed zijn.
That would certainly be good.
Then we can definitely discuss how we can do that again.
Ik denk dat een goede bundeling,
I think that a good bundling,
zeker heel in het dagelijkse werk,
certainly very much in daily work,
also in the practice where I work,
hoe specifieker je iemand kunt doorsturen
how more specifically you can forward someone
of kunt laten kennismaken met iemand
or can introduce to someone
dat er meer know-how van heeft,
that has more know-how,
vind ik eigenlijk schitterend.
I actually find that splendid.
Dat geeft je eigen een goed gevoel.
That gives you a good feeling.
The person in question,
die apprecieert dat keihard.
that appreciates that a lot.
Want je zou eigenlijk vaak denken,
Because you would actually often think,
ik wil die dicht bij mij houden,
I want to keep that close to me,
So I need to make sure that I can do all of that myself properly.
om die persoon te houden. Maar dat is eigenlijk niet waar.
to keep that person. But that's actually not true.
Die heeft superveel respect voor jou.
They have a lot of respect for you.
Als jij die doorverwijst,
If you refer that,
then you have noticed that if you refer them to someone else,
Then you'll come back much faster with another problem.
I think that's the nice thing about our job,
op een andere manier,
in another way,
that we still worked with a person.
And if we can give that person satisfaction
and being able to leverage to a higher level somewhere
by sharing knowledge or by sharing our abilities,
dat is waarvoor je het doet.
that's why you do it.
Otherwise, I don't think you should do it.
Inderdaad.
Indeed.
Uw platform,
Your platform,
om nog eventjes daarover te spreken,
to talk about that for a moment longer,
noemt Lift Your Performance,
calls Lift Your Performance,
juist?
Correct?
Ja.
Yes.
Ik zag dat die lift
I saw that the elevator
in dikgedrukte letters stond.
in bold letters it said.
Is that because you have more rights to strength athletes?
of niet per se?
or not necessarily?
Nee, niet per se.
No, not necessarily.
I think you have more right to strength athletes or not necessarily.
We hebben lang nagedacht over de naam.
We thought long and hard about the name.
Ik wou
I wanted
eigenlijk een naam die dat
actually a name that does that
misschien ook in een andere taal
maybe also in another language
ook wel zo kan zijn.
it can also be that way.
That is actually still a dream to expand it.
buiten de Belgische of onze taalgrens.
outside the Belgian or our language border.
Ik vond Lift
I found Lift.
eigenlijk een
actually a
brede naam om
broad name for
iets hoger te laten gaan.
to let it go a little higher.
Zoals wij hier nu bezig zijn,
As we are currently doing here,
dat kan aanvullend zijn naar krachttraining,
that can be complementary to strength training,
dat kan aanvullend zijn naar
that can be complementary to
iemand die daar gewoon bepaalde
someone who just determines that
klachten heeft, wat passieveriteit
has complaints, what passivity
en die daar misschien
and maybe there
graag gewoon wandelt als
please just walk as
activiteit van het leven
activity of life
and with this, I can just stay pain-free
in zijn lage rug ofzo.
in his lower back or something.
Dan vond ik Lift eigenlijk wel tof.
Then I actually thought Lift was pretty cool.
Maar omdat Lift
But because Lift
die naam natuurlijk niet vrij was
that name was of course not available
en dan hebben we natuurlijk andere liftbedrijven
and then we also have other elevator companies
die dat naam hebben toegehangen
those who have been given that name
en iets passiever natuurlijk
and something more passive of course
hebben we daar Liftware Performance
do we have Liftware Performance there
aangekoppeld om echt toch wel
linked to really indeed
de performance te verbeteren.
to improve performance.
Nog één vraagje daarover.
Just one more question about that.
Are your videos in Dutch or in English?
Nee, in het Nederlands.
No, in Dutch.
Jammer genoeg kan ik
Unfortunately, I can't.
mijn Engels nog niet zo...
my English is not so good yet...
Ik ben niet zo'n ballenknobbel.
I'm not such a big shot.
Dat niet.
Not that.
Nee, zijn niet Nederlands. Ook
No, they are not Dutch. Also
een toffere en een veiligere manier
a cooler and safer way
voor ons om dat eigenlijk
for us to actually do that
te laten overbrengen. Ik vond het zelf ook
to have it transferred. I found it myself as well
a big step to first make videos of myself
te maken.
to make.
And then to chat in another language.
dat ik niet goed kan. Dat gaat niet goed komen.
that I can't do well. That's not going to work out.
Om dan eindelijk
At last
to go with it to the end of the podcast
heb ik nog enkele vragen van kijkers.
I have a few questions from viewers.
Mag ik die aan u stellen?
May I ask that to you?
Ik ben benieuwd.
I am curious.
Dus ik had een Q&A
So I had a Q&A.
op Instagram gezet over
posted on Instagram about
mobiliteit.
mobility.
De eerste
The first
kijker had dat een beetje misgeinterpreteerd
The viewer had misinterpreted that a bit.
hebben, mobiliteit. Hij vroeg,
have, mobility. He asked,
zullen de files nog verergeren?
Will the traffic jams get worse?
En wat kunnen we eraan doen?
And what can we do about it?
Ja,
Yes,
nee, deze mobiliteit heeft natuurlijk niks
No, this mobility has of course nothing.
met het verkeer te maken.
related to traffic.
En op de antwoorden,
And on the answers,
I'm afraid so, I think, I notice that.
zelf ook files worden erger.
Traffic jams are also getting worse.
But I would recommend, you can always do mobility exercises.
doing while driving or in a traffic jam.
En dan, voilà.
And then, voilà.
Is that also on the platform or not?
Nee, dat is wel een goeie feature.
No, that's a really good feature.
Oefeningen voor in de auto.
Exercises for in the car.
Dan binnenkort boetes voor wie mobiliteit
Soon fines for those who mobilize.
achter het stuur uitoefent.
exercises behind the wheel.
Dat is wat
That's something.
serieuzere vragen. Word je
serious questions. Are you
leniger van deadliften of squatten?
More flexible from deadlifting or squatting?
Ik denk, hier het woord leniger,
I think, here the word more flexible,
zoals je er juist
as you just did
even aangehaald, dat dat
just mentioned that that
ja,
yes,
dat dat vaak, als ik het hier
that that often, when I here
goed begrijp,
good understand,
nee, zou ik zeggen
no, I would say
antwoorden nee, omdat
answer no, because
ja, mobiliteit echt over het actieve deel
Yes, mobility really concerns the active part.
from your body goes, towards the movement.
En je kan
And you can
die
that
je deadlift bewegelijkheid,
your deadlift mobility,
dus je mobiliteit daarvan,
so your mobility from that,
kan je wel verbeteren door
you can improve by
enerzijds weer een component
on one hand another component
van flexibiliteit te integreren aanvullend
to integrate additional flexibility
met een component van lichte
with a component of light
kracht.
strength. And that can really be with bodyweight
of met lichte halters, om zo
or with light dumbbells, to do so
die mobiliteit
that mobility
je eigen te maken, het lichaams eigen,
to make your own, the body’s own,
daarover te heersen, zeg maar.
to have control over it, let's say.
En dan ga je natuurlijk
And then you are of course going to
ook verder kunnen gaan in je echte
also be able to continue in your real
deadlift prestatie
deadlift performance
naar spierombouw
to muscle remodeling
van de dorsale keten bijvoorbeeld toe.
for example, from the dorsal chain.
Voor dan misschien de vraag
Then perhaps the question.
nog iets een andere wending te geven,
to give it another twist,
word je mobieler van te deadliften
Do you become more mobile from deadlifting?
or to squat, to perform the exercise itself?
Door repetitief
Through repetitive
hetzelfde
the same
If you do, you will keep what you have.
Ja.
Yes.
But when you say, I want my, I have
zoals je net zei, van mijn
As you just said, from my
squat, ik wil er eens
squat, I want to try it once
verder gaan daarin,
continue with that,
then I settle in, and then you come to a warm-up,
more towards that will shift a bit towards there
de vraag. Zo walsen
the question. So waltz
wat wil je vragen hier?
What do you want to ask here?
Dat je bijvoorbeeld zegt, ik integreer
For example, you say, I integrate.
wat enkelmobiliteit, die moet naar
what single mobility, that must go to
dorsiflexie gaan, dus echt
dorsiflexion going, so really
de knie naar de teen toe duwen
pushing the knee towards the toe
with the heel that stays on the ground.
I perform that movement a number of times,
ik maak mijn heup goed los,
I loosen my hip well,
lage rug, ook die toracale zone,
lower back, also that thoracic area,
dus die middenrugzone,
so that middle back zone,
And then you are going to say in advance, I have a little bit here.
mobiliteitswinst gemaakt, die
mobility gains made, which
bewegingsvrijheid, die spanning is eraf,
freedom of movement, the tension is off,
die stijfheid van de spieren, die bindweefselstructuren,
the stiffness of the muscles, the connective tissue structures,
because it's not just muscles and bones
waarop we bestaan, maar veelal meer
on which we exist, but often more
ja, bindweefselstructuren,
yes, connective tissue structures,
fasciastructuren, dat super interessant is,
fascial structures, which is super interesting,
waarin dat de botten eigenlijk ophangen.
wherein the bones actually hang.
Dus die maak je allemaal wat
So you make it all a bit...
bewegelijker, die
more mobile, that
hydratatietoestand gaat er beter in komen,
the hydration status will improve.
en als je dan die squat
and if you then do that squat
of die deadlift gaat doen,
or doing that deadlift,
met wat gewicht, dat je
with some weight, that you
systematisch stijgt
systematically rises
in intensiteit, dan gaat
in intensity, then it goes
natuurlijk de mobiliteit verbeteren,
of course improve mobility,
en je gaat dat behouden door
and you will maintain that by
die oefeningen, jawel.
those exercises, yes.
Alright.
Alright.
Echt mooi verwoord,
Really beautifully expressed,
You speak with such passion, I really like it.
om dat te luisteren. Dankjewel, ik vind het eigenlijk nog
to listen to that. Thank you, I actually still find it
wel tof om bij jou
well cool to be with you
in een podcast te zitten,
to be in a podcast,
en dat is al een goeie ervaring.
and that's already a good experience.
Nog drie vraagjes, de volgende
Three more questions, the next one.
vraag was, deadhang bij
The question was, dead hang at
pull-up of onder spanning houden?
Pull-up or keep under tension?
Ehm...
Ehm...
What will the lower movement be about?
Dat...
That...
Ehm...
Ehm...
Ik denk eigenlijk, dank daarvan
I actually think, thanks to that.
dat je wilt werken. Ik vind dat echt wel
that you want to work. I really think that is
een goeie oefening,
a good exercise,
die
that
scapulaire push-ups ligt,
scapular push-ups lie down,
I would actually call that more earlier,
en ik denk dus,
and I think therefore,
if you want to work on that, and you are aware of it
Well, then that's the best, I think.
Dus het eerste gedeelte van
So the first part of
die pull-up
that pull-up
is die scapulaire pull, zeg maar,
is that scapular pull, let's say,
waarbij je echt, dat wordt ook vaak
where you really, that is often also
onderschat, dat is echt wel zwaar,
underrate, that is really quite heavy,
en supergoed
and super good
voor, ja,
for, yes,
die leds, die serratius,
those leds, those serratius,
die middeltreplover, die doen begint
that middle ladder, that starts doing
to start activating a bit, and from there
een gecontroleerde pull-up
a controlled pull-up
is ideaal, en
is ideal, and
lijkt mij veel beter dan
seems much better to me than
u naar boven te zwingen
to force you upward
in een of andere...
in one way or another...
ja,
yes,
samuraibeweging, zeg maar,
samurai movement, so to speak,
maar ik denk,
but I think,
wat het beste
what is best
is, zou
is, would be
I see it if you just do it in a controlled manner.
Dus ik heb zelf
So I have myself
wel regelmatig
fairly regularly
met het optrekken
with the pulling up
terug laten zakken tot een gecontroleerde
let down to a controlled
position, that you really know, okay, here I go
in die dead hang positie gaan komen,
to get into that dead hang position,
gecontroleerd loslaten,
controlled release,
and put it back in there, and then go up with it.
Of net gewoon
Or just simply.
only that scapular movement, and that's also a super good one
oefening gewoon zelf, en wordt vaak
practice it yourself, and often becomes
onderschat, ja.
underestimated, yes.
Dus een gecontroleerde
So a controlled
dead hang
dead hang
is eigenlijk de beste
is actually the best
optie dan, of?
Option then, or?
I sometimes think about what goal you want to reach.
But I tend to think, if you're in a pull-up
die onderste bewegingen en spanningen gaat houden,
that will maintain those underlying movements and tensions,
that you are simply going to shorten your range of motion quite a bit.
En dan net dat laatste deel dat
And then just that last part that
je net goed opmerkt, wel nog
you just noticed well, still
redelijk belangrijk is, of niet?
is reasonably important, or not?
Ja, ik weet nog in de crossfit,
Yes, I still remember in crossfit,
In CrossFit training, what always stood out to us.
scapula retractions, dat je daar echt
scapula retractions, that you really there
super hard moet staan.
super hard must stand.
Yes, you can indeed find that in how you phrase it.
Dus
So
veel is van
much is from
het belangrijke ook altijd
the important also always
to look at what goal, why you do that
eigenlijk zou gaan doen.
actually would do.
Dus dat van de doel is eigenlijk?
So what is the purpose actually?
Ja, altijd.
Yes, always.
I still think that in that role you have to pay attention.
Ja.
Yes.
Dan de volgende vraag, dat je waarschijnlijk
Then the next question, that you probably
al redelijk ruim beantwoord hebt vandaag.
you have answered quite broadly today.
Belang van warm-up, stretch, voor
Importance of warm-up, stretching, for
iemand die een sedentair job heeft.
someone who has a sedentary job.
Funny that people always go back to that.
stretch verwijzen, als ze horen over
refer to stretch when they hear about
mobiliteit, toch?
mobility, right?
Ja, inderdaad. Ik denk dat dat een heersende
Yes, indeed. I think that's a prevailing
drempel is,
threshold is,
die we over moeten gaan gaan.
that we need to go over.
Dus,
So,
het eerste deel van de vraag,
the first part of the question,
belang van een warm-up,
importance of a warm-up,
zonder de stretch,
without the stretch,
heel belangrijk.
very important.
Ik denk dat
I think that
ja, het lichaam niet voorbereiden op iets
Yes, not preparing the body for anything.
wat je wil gaan doen,
what you want to do,
en waar je eigenlijk zelf
and where you actually yourself
wil in presteren, zeg maar.
Want to perform, so to speak.
Daar kan die opwarming niet in missen,
That warming cannot be missed there.
because otherwise you will just go in blindly.
En dat kan wel eens goed aflopen,
And that can end well sometimes,
Once again, good, but that can also end very badly.
En
And
ik denk, naar opwarming toe,
I think, towards warming,
denk ik dat het belangrijk is om
I think it's important to
if you then say okay, a sedentary
job,
job,
eerst en vooral de opwarming nemen.
First of all, take the warm-up.
Belangrijk is je lichaamstemperatuur,
Your body temperature is important.
je hebt zo een ramp
you have such a disaster
principe, dat tegenwoordig
principle, that nowadays
wel in de
well in the
literature sometimes comes up, where I
"Yes, I can definitely find that good, because it is very goal-oriented."
kan gemaakt worden.
can be made.
En dat je
And that you
hartslaggen mogen laten wonen,
heartbeats may be allowed to reside,
je spieren warm laten worden,
let your muscles warm up,
ook die neurale activatie eigenlijk
also that neural activation actually
brings up, that's actually more in that R.
Dat wil zeggen de race.
That means the race.
Dan de activatie, de spieren gewoon
Then the activation, the muscles just
voorbereiden, naar beweging toe.
preparing, towards movement.
Dan de M, de mobilisatie.
Then the M, the mobilization.
Superinteressant.
Super interesting.
Dus focus je op de bewegingspatronen
So focus on the movement patterns.
die je gaat doen.
that you are going to do.
Jumping jacks
Jumping jacks
gaat voor
goes for
een squat training niet echt een goede
a squat training not really a good one
opwarming zijn, elektronisch. Terwijl dat
warming up, electronic. While that
maybe it mobilizes, but not in the right way there either
manier. En dan
way. And then
de P gaat eigenlijk over het
the P is actually about the
stijgen van de intensiteit.
increase in intensity.
Dus ik zou een goede warm-up
So I would need a good warm-up.
zeker
certainly
onderstrepen. Pak daar even de tijd
underline. Take some time for that.
voor en vergeet dat niet.
So don't forget that.
And then you will just enjoy your movement even more.
Ja, zeker
Yes, certainly.
belangrijk. En daar
important. And there
kan die mobiliteit dan weer zijn
can that mobility then be again
nut in hebben.
to have a purpose.
Om weer die
To be again that
barrières, waar daar restricties
barriers, where there are restrictions
are, what I said at the beginning, if you are at greater
spieren gaat focussen, dat je
muscles will focus, that you
ook tijdens de opwarming met mobilisatie
also during the warm-up with mobilization
al die kleinere
all those smaller ones
vrichtjes mee naar de ruggen gaat,
the little ones go with the backs,
rond de ribben,
around the ribs,
die schouderrotatiebewegingen, zeg maar,
those shoulder rotation movements, let's say,
dat je die er even
that you just do that
implementeert, zodat
implements, so that
je die bewegingsvrijheid hebt. En dan
you have that freedom of movement. And then
gaan die grote spieren, die vaak over
Are those big muscles often over
grote delen van het lichaam
large parts of the body
lopen,
to walk,
die gaan gewoon veel beter kunnen functioneren
they will simply be able to function much better
and you're just going to get so much more out of it.
Dus waarom zou je dat niet doen?
So why wouldn't you do that?
En dan naar sedentaires ook, dat deel
And then to sedentary people as well, that part.
van de vraag. Dan zou ik kijken, ja,
of the question. Then I would look, yes,
dat is in die voorovergevogen
that is in that bent forward
houding, dan hangt het af.
attitude, then it depends.
Upper body of low.
Upper body of low.
Om die zone zeker even
To make sure that zone just for a moment
te openen, ja.
to open, yes.
We think that's quite a podcast!
over houden zelf zo, over een goeie warm-up.
keep it to yourself like that, about a good warm-up.
Dus ja, zeker voor
So yes, definitely for
Brett.
Brett.
Then perhaps the importance of a stretch. That is not
echt belangrijk als opwarming
really important as a warm-up
voor een training, of? Ik zou een dynamische
for a training, or? I would like a dynamic
stretch component in een opwarming, lijkt
stretch component in a warm-up, seems
me zeker goed, omdat dat ook weer
I am certainly doing well, because that again...
gaat focussen op de excentrische
will focus on the eccentric
controle
control
en het mogelijk maken van, oké,
and making it possible, okay,
zit ik hier met barrières? Als we dat op een
Am I here with barriers? If we do that in a
we will do it in a dynamic way, then we will also take another look
van, dat zit weer die
of, that’s again that
spiertemperatuur dat wel gaat stijgen,
muscle temperature that will indeed rise,
je ziet daar weer een activatie component,
you see another activation component there,
afvalstoffen worden er wat uitgehaald,
waste materials are being extracted from it,
bloedcirculatie wordt gestegen.
Blood circulation has increased.
Dus ja, lijkt me nu natuurlijk
So yes, that seems natural to me now.
niet het slimste
not the smartest
om
around
een passieve
a passive
borststretch te gaan doen, voordat we
to do chest stretches before we
een borsttraining gaan doen, of dat je
going to do a chest workout, or that you
je kuiten passief gaat stretchen voordat je gaat gaan lopen.
you passively stretch your calves before you go running.
Dat lijkt me natuurlijk helemaal
That seems completely fine to me.
niet het beste. Dan kun je het beter niet doen,
not the best. Then it’s better not to do it.
denk ik.
I think so.
Dan nog een laatste
Then one last thing.
vraag.
question.
Manieren om thuis je ankle mobility te
Ways to improve your ankle mobility at home.
verbeteren?
improve?
Testen.
Testing.
Eerst testen. Zoals op platform
First testing. Like on the platform.
komt, staat testing. Testen,
comes, stands testing. Testing,
meten, weten, testen,
measure, know, test,
hertesten, zoals bij jou.
retesting, like with you.
Je komt, je meet iemand, je geeft
You come, you meet someone, you give.
een traject en je hermeet.
a track and you re-measure.
Hier is daar ook testen, doelgerichte oefeningen
Here there are also tests, targeted exercises.
hiervoor doen.
I will do this for that. For the single one, I have a few.
gegeven voor opgesteld. En dan
given for drafted. And then
zou ik aanraden,
I would recommend,
as I mentioned somewhere in the beginning,
kies dan twee, drie oefeningen die
choose two or three exercises that
het meeste aankomen.
the most gain weight.
Probeer die dagelijks consistent
Try to do that consistently on a daily basis.
to apply and then you will see that you improve on that.
And you are going to do that by retesting.
Ja.
Yes.
En dan zou ik moeten progressie zien?
And then I should see progress?
Op die ankle mobility? Dan zou ik moeten progressie zien.
On that ankle mobility? Then I should see progress.
Dan moet je het meedoen.
Then you have to participate.
Cool.
Cool.
Allright, top.
All right, great.
I think we can wrap this up here.
I actually found it to be a really interesting podcast.
Merci, merci.
Thank you, thank you.
Je spreekt ook vol passie.
You also speak with passion.
Dat is echt aangenaam
That is really pleasant.
om dat te luisteren ook.
to listen to that too.
Dikke merci om hier aanwezig te zijn.
Thank you very much for being here.
En
And
ik hoop dat niet de stress hier
I hope it's not the stress here.
overkwam, want
happened, because
dat podcast
that podcast
had je stress.
did you have stress?
Ja, in het begin denk ik wel.
Yes, I think so in the beginning.
Ik ben daar nog niet zo gewoon.
I'm not so used to that yet.
Ik heb niets gemerkt.
I didn't notice anything.
Ik vind het heel interessant om eigenlijk
I find it very interesting to actually
samen eens te babbelen over iets.
Let's chat together about something.
Vragen die dat reëel zijn.
Questions that are real.
Die dat dan eens
Do that then once.
beantwoord kunnen worden.
can be answered.
Ik hoop dat dat allemaal bijdraagt
I hope that all contributes.
om de mens
about the person
bewuster te laten worden
to make more aware
en te interesseren in het
and to be interested in it
luikje van mobiliteit.
window of mobility.
Well, maybe many people are now realizing.
meer vragen tevoorschijn komen.
more questions arise.
About mobility and can we still all do it?
een keer beantwoorden in de volgende aflevering.
Answer once in the next episode.
Oké, goed.
Okay, good.
Matthias, waar kunnen mensen het nu terugvinden?
Matthias, where can people find it again now?
Het beste gaat
The best is going.
misschien momenteel zijn via
maybe currently are via
Instagram, via
Instagram, via
social media.
social media.
Because we are now very active in that.
En je kan ook op Facebook
And you can also be on Facebook.
ons terugvinden. Of op LinkedIn.
find us again. Or on LinkedIn.
Dus eigenlijk op sociale
So actually on social
kanalen.
channels.
And there on Facebook you also have a,
met ons chatten.
chatting with us.
En dan gaan we altijd
And then we always go
proberen zeker die,
definitely trying that,
ik zal zeggen, stuur gewoon vragen
I will say, just send questions.
als je interesse hebt, als je vragen
if you are interested, if you have questions
heerst, dat we die kunnen oplossen.
dominates, that we can solve that.
There is really no threshold that you have to.
overstappen
switching
om tot bij mij
to come to me
te komen, wil ik zeggen. Ik ben heel toegankelijk.
I want to say, I am very approachable.
Allright.
Allright.
And then they should look for Matthias Brammer.
of naar Lift Your Performance?
or to Lift Your Performance?
Lift Your Performance of
Lift Your Performance of
Matthias Brammer, dat kan allebei. Daar zijn we ook.
Matthias Brammer, that can be both. We are there too.
Ik denk dat
I think that
M onderspoord op Brammer is. En daar
M is undermined on Brammer. And there
It also includes a reference to Lift Your Performance.
Alles kan.
Anything is possible.
Top. Matthias, bedankt
Great. Matthias, thank you.
om hier aanwezig te zijn.
to be present here.
Super bedankt om hier te zijn, ja.
Thank you so much for being here, yes.
En tot een volgende keer. Oké, Gies.
And until next time. Okay, Gies.
Dikke merci. Heel fijne avond nog.
Thank you very much. Have a great evening.
