fysieke, mentale en emotionele gezondheid.
physical, mental, and emotional health.
Goedemiddag iedereen.
Good afternoon everyone.
Goedemiddag.
Good afternoon.
Normaal krijg ik applaus, maar...
Usually I receive applause, but...
I'm used to receiving that before I've actually done anything.
Good, I am glad you are all here.
Het is een hele bijzondere namiddag.
It is a very special afternoon.
It is totally different from what I usually do.
So I don't know if there are people who usually...
Voorstellingen van mij gezien hebben?
Have you seen my performances?
Ja, toch een aantal.
Yes, still a number.
So don’t expect any jokes and jests.
Maybe that's among them, but it's very different.
In response to what I experienced over the past year
and the insights I have gained around that
and the questions I received about it from a lot of people,
I thought, I need to do this thoroughly here.
Because the questions came from which doctor?
Wat zoekte jij? En welk pilletje pakte jij?
What were you looking for? And which pill did you take?
Die waren er in de duizenden.
They were there in the thousands.
Dat kan ik eerlijk zeggen.
I can honestly say that.
But that doesn't help at all, that I say that.
That doesn't help, because it needs to be more thorough, better.
And for that, I have always said, look, I am not a doctor.
Er zijn experten die jullie kunnen uitleggen
There are experts who can explain it to you.
what you can do yourself to promote your health and well-being.
En daar gaat deze namiddag over.
And that is what this afternoon is about.
And so I can certainly explain a few things about myself,
maar ik ben geen dokter.
but I am not a doctor.
So it's only about myself, but I like to talk about my own.
Dus dat is ook al geen probleem.
So that's no problem either.
Dus het afgelopen jaar was heel heftig.
So the past year was very intense.
Het heeft ongeveer acht maanden geduurd
It took about eight months.
eer ik wist wat er aan de hand was.
before I knew what was going on.
Ik ben eerst gediagnosticeerd met een burn-out
I was first diagnosed with burnout.
and a deep depression caused by the first doctor.
While I thought, but I don't have that.
There is something else going on and I don't know what.
Wat?
What?
Waar was ik in perfecte gezondheid?
Where was I in perfect health?
It all went very well, both mentally and emotionally.
And suddenly I was in the deep dark and I didn't know it.
I have slept for eleven hours straight for eight months.
of which I felt I had only slept for four or five hours.
En ik kon niet meer verder.
And I could not go on anymore.
So I thought, that diagnosis isn't right, because I'm not getting any help here.
Moreover, I received, and I am absolutely not against supplements,
maar ik had een diagnoze.
but I had a diagnosis.
But I got a discount code from the doctor in question.
en een waslijst aan supplementen.
and a long list of supplements.
And until I discovered, yes, that discount code applies because the doctor himself...
Twenty to forty percent receives on every supplement that he prescribes to you.
And then I thought, a doctor is allowed to earn money,
but he must be honest about it, open about it.
And you can't really know if that,
what he prescribes to you, or whether you really need it or not.
Because it may also be that he enjoys making a lot from it.
And here I am, I've become so angry about that,
that I thought, I will go to another doctor.
Ik ben naar een andere dokter gegaan,
I went to another doctor,
I have been assigned very different matters for that.
And there you have it, that was actually a much better solution.
Alright, but we’re not going to talk too much about misery today.
We will discuss possible solutions.
Because like Janine, my very dear, I always call her my mother,
she's actually not my real mother, but she is still a mother.
Zij is een solution seeker, een oplossing.
She is a solution seeker, a solution.
Daar zoeken wij naar.
That is what we are looking for.
So there are, as far as I'm concerned, and that's something I really want to say to you all,
jongens, er zijn geen problemen.
Guys, there are no problems.
Echt waar, er zijn geen problemen.
Really, there are no problems.
Er zijn uitdagingen.
There are challenges.
Challenges that you were facing at that moment, and at this moment,
and at this moment perhaps, you have not found a solution yet,
But they are there, and the experts will explain that to you.
And what I have personally experienced, especially in the last year,
but I have experienced something in my life, I must say, from a young age,
I have very well realized that it is not only about your physical condition,
it's not just about your mind, it's not just about your heart or your gut,
het gaat over alles samen, tegelijkertijd.
It's about everything together, at the same time.
Because, luckily, I ate fairly healthy last year.
I have my own vegetable garden, and I think it's all organic and very enjoyable.
but if I hadn't eaten healthily, it would have been much worse
met al de rest die er aan de hand was.
with all the rest that was going on.
En dat is heel belangrijk. Het hangt eigenlijk allemaal in balans samen.
And that is very important. It all hangs together in balance.
And it is actually because of all those things that you can contribute something yourself,
which improves the balance in your life.
So, to put that a bit, it's not that you're improving a balance in your life,
But to illustrate that a bit, I will tell a little history about myself.
Kijk, dames en heren.
Look, ladies and gentlemen.
Eens kijken, dit ben ik.
Let's see, this is me.
Ja, kijk, dat vind ik tof.
Yes, look, I think that's cool.
Do you know what else is cool? That you also get to experience that as an adult once.
That you then say to each other, isn't that cool?
Ik ben dus geboren, dat is duidelijk.
I was born, that is clear.
In a family that didn't have it very easy mentally and emotionally.
My mother had very severe epilepsy, so she had a hard time.
And my father was quite an insecure person, but a very loving person.
And so I ended up with my grandmother, who took great care of me.
But when you are very young, so I was about two years old, I think,
I was taken out of the house because my mother was taken away by an ambulance.
Definitief.
Definitive.
So I was suddenly alone, and that caused one of my first traumas.
namely that I developed an unconscious belief of
I am not worth being raised in my family.
Ik word uitgesloten.
I am being excluded.
That has had a considerable impact on my life.
Kan mijn gezin niet aan doen.
My family can't help it.
It's not about guilt here, it's about what you can do yourself.
to the things you have experienced in your life.
Dus ik kwam daar terecht.
So I ended up there.
I was really crazy about my dad's car.
I loved my dad very much, you can see that too.
But because of the things I experienced, I suddenly became, and you can see it in the photo,
een vrij triest kind.
a rather sad child.
A child who was very reserved, who began to think very deeply about
why am I here, what am I doing here in life,
What is happening, without me being able to say it with those words?
I had, you see, that is here in, I think the Watervalla of Coe,
or somewhere there in Wallonia, with my dad on such a cable car.
But you can already see how anxious we both look.
Zie je het? Ja, hè?
Do you see it? Yes, right?
And that fear was very much present in our family.
Ik ben opgevoed met angst.
I was raised with fear.
It has already cost me a lot and I've put in a lot of work on it.
om veel van die angsten te overwinnen.
to overcome many of those fears.
And standing on stage has done a lot of good for that.
Dat was heel fijn.
That was very nice.
Dus, voilà.
So, there you go.
En dus, je ziet ook, waar zit ik?
And so, you see, where am I sitting?
Kun je me zien?
Can you see me?
Hier, voilà.
Here, there you go.
Dan ben ik ik.
Then I am I.
Ja, ik was een blonde.
Yes, I was a blonde.
Ja, ik ben dus een geverfde.
Yes, so I am a dyed one.
Ja, ja, ja.
Yes, yes, yes.
Ja, ja, oké.
Yes, yes, okay.
So, and this was when I made my communion.
And you can clearly see that from those photos.
how deeply I have thought about life.
I just couldn't put it into words.
and I couldn't really do that in my environment either...
Dat werd niet echt ontvangen.
That wasn't really received well.
Nu wel.
Now it is.
Vele, vele jaren later wel.
Many, many years later indeed.
En dan groeide ik op
And then I grew up.
and as a teenager, I got the usual pimples.
Ik droeg steenzolen en ik had konijnentanden.
I wore stone soles and I had rabbit teeth.
Alles om zelfvertrouwen te ontwikkelen.
Everything to develop self-confidence.
GELACH.
LAUGHTER.
Geweldig.
Awesome.
Dat heeft impact gehad.
That has had an impact.
But being on stage, I discovered,
daar had ik ineens vrijheid.
There I suddenly had freedom.
Dat had bij mij te maken met...
That had to do with me...
Ik had daar controle.
I had control there.
Want ik was echt een controlefreak.
Because I was really a control freak.
Het is minder. Ik ben nog altijd een controlefreak.
It is less. I am still a control freak.
But it is less because I felt unsafe.
in grote groepen mensen.
in large groups of people.
That had a huge impact on my physical health.
And that is why I am telling you all this.
Omdat ik, als ik...
Because if I...
Ik denk ongeveer veertien of zestien jaar,
I think about fourteen or sixteen years.
kreeg zeer zware leverziekte.
developed very severe liver disease.
Zeer zware geelzucht.
Very severe jaundice.
They had to do a lot about that, Wout, about healing.
Ik weet vanuit de Chinese geneeskunde,
I know from Chinese medicine,
tenminste, dat is mij verteld,
at least, that's what I've been told,
Your liver is the organ of anger, frustration.
And so, I was filled with a lot of bottled-up anger and frustration.
Dat zat in mijn lijveke in.
That was in my little body.
En dat kwam eruit.
And that came out.
En dat kwam eruit via ziekte.
And that came out through illness.
Ik ben geen expert. Het is niet altijd zo.
I am not an expert. It is not always like that.
But it was very certain for me that
the emotions and the traumas that were not processed,
die zaten vast in mijn lichaam.
they were trapped in my body.
Van jongs af aan.
From a young age.
En daar heb ik heel mijn leven,
And there I have my whole life,
en vandaar ook een aantal experten
and hence a number of experts
die op emotie- en traumaverwerking hier zijn.
who are here for emotional and trauma processing.
Omdat dat mij het afgelopen jaar,
Because that has affected me over the past year,
zelfs al had ik long covid,
even if I had long covid,
That has become clear to me after eight months.
We hebben op fysiek vlak gewerkt,
We have worked on a physical level,
but we have also worked on trauma-related matters.
Verwerken van emoties.
Processing emotions.
Want ik had een trauma opgelopen
Because I had suffered a trauma.
door zo ziek te worden,
by becoming so sick,
but because the insurance hasn't even...
wou betalen toen ik ziek was.
I wanted to pay when I was sick.
An insurance policy that I have been paying for for twenty years.
Dus dat was te veel.
So that was too much.
En dat heeft mij allemaal geholpen.
And that has all helped me.
So standing on stage has given me the first step.
in mijn onveiligheidsgevoel
in my feeling of insecurity
mij terug veilig te voelen
to feel safe again
and still being able to connect with people.
Want dat had ik nodig.
Because that was what I needed.
Nu is het al heel anders.
Now it is very different.
Now I can stand here in this way.
and I can already do much more with people
in een authenticiteit spreken
speak in an authenticity
without having to wear a mask or play a role.
Dat was niet nodig.
That wasn't necessary.
On stage, I first played those roles.
En dat blijf ik ook graag doen.
And I would like to keep doing that as well.
Ik ben uiteindelijk in wezen,
I am ultimately essentially,
als ik mijn innerlijke kind bovenhaal,
when I bring forth my inner child,
I don't know if the people who have seen my performance,
een klein elsje,
a little elf,
When that one comes up, that is a cute child.
And that is also who I truly am.
Maar ik heb ook voorstellingen gemaakt
But I have also created performances.
die de andere kant lieten zien.
that showed the other side.
En de mensen die dat gezien hebben,
And the people who have seen that,
Red Me was actually really a cry for help in part.
The cry for help that many other people also have.
Maar ik maakte nog de vergissing,
But I still made the mistake,
voor mezelf de vergissing,
for myself the mistake,
It is others who must save me.
Je kunt hulp van anderen krijgen,
You can get help from others,
want zij de zelf.
because she is the same.
Je moet jezelf redden.
You have to save yourself.
Met de nodige tools,
With the necessary tools,
met de nodige kennis
with the necessary knowledge
die anderen u kunnen aanreiken.
they can offer you to others.
En die kennis heb ik echt gekregen.
And I have really gained that knowledge.
Daar ben ik zo blij.
I am so happy about that.
En dat blijft ook verder lopen.
And that will continue to run further.
Maar op een bepaald moment,
But at a certain point,
I have had quite a few people around me.
die zelfmoord hebben gepleegd.
who committed suicide.
Die het niet meer wisten.
Those who no longer knew.
En daar had ik gezegd van
And there I had said of
hoe moeilijk ik het ook heb,
no matter how difficult it is for me,
mentaal, emotioneel, fysiek,
mental, emotional, physical
dat ga ik nooit niet doen.
I am never going to do that.
Want ik heb één chance.
Because I have one chance.
Ik geloof in reïncarnatie.
I believe in reincarnation.
And I think, I will go in the next life after all.
diezelfde miserie niet terug opnieuw doen zeker.
You wouldn't want to go through that same misery again, would you?
Ik zal het dan nu wel doen.
I will do it now.
Dat is echt waar.
That is really true.
Dat houdt me echt recht.
That really keeps me upright.
Ik zal het nu doen.
I will do it now.
Hoe heb ik nu die balans teruggevonden?
How have I now regained that balance?
En dan sluit ik af.
And then I will conclude.
By tackling it on all fronts.
Zoals ik net gezegd heb.
As I just said.
Fysiek, emotioneel en mentaal.
Physical, emotional, and mental.
Eén van die hele simpele dingen
One of those very simple things
is mijn hof.
is my garden.
Dat is een deeltje van mijn hof.
That is a part of my garden.
I live in my grandfather's house.
En dat is een prachtige tuin.
And that is a beautiful garden.
En er is geen moment
And there is no moment
that I am not to be found in my garden
als ik tijd heb.
if I have time.
Dat helpt mij.
That helps me.
But I also grow in a natural way.
al mijn groenten, bloemen.
all my vegetables, flowers.
En dat geeft mij
And that gives me
heel veel rust.
a lot of rest.
Dat is naast de meditatie die Jan
That is in addition to the meditation that Jan
geeft,
gives,
is dat ook eigenlijk mijn
is that actually mine
aarding
grounding
loslaten in de natuur.
letting go in nature.
Creatief bezig zijn.
Being creative.
Dat doe ik op alle vlakken.
I do that in all areas.
I have started painting and drawing a lot in the last year.
Ik heb een boek gemaakt
I have made a book.
tijdens de pandemie.
during the pandemic.
Jij krijgt een pluim.
You get a feather.
Sommige mensen zullen die boek wel kennen.
Some people will know that book well.
Een heel plezant boek over
A very enjoyable book about
al dit soort dingen. Hoe kun je het doen?
all this kind of stuff. How can you do it?
I have seen it, and I just told that.
hoe mijn fysiek aangetast is
how my physical condition has deteriorated
door emotionele en mentale uitputting.
due to emotional and mental exhaustion.
Ik heb ook gezien dat,
I have also seen that,
en dat is een hele belangrijke,
and that is a very important one,
ik heb iets vergeten ook.
I forgot something too.
Ik heb veel geleerd van mijn hond.
I have learned a lot from my dog.
Onze hele joker.
Our whole joker.
Iedereen die om je heen is,
Everyone who is around you,
kan een leraar zijn in je leven.
Can be a teacher in your life.
Ook degene
Also those
zeker degene,
certainly those,
hij is aan je niet,
he is not interested in you,
maar degene die je tegenstaat,
but the one you oppose,
zijn vaak een spiegel.
are often a mirror.
Een spiegel waar je iets kunt leren.
A mirror where you can learn something.
I'm trying, but I don't always succeed.
to look at when something annoys me.
Of als iemand mij ergert.
Or if someone annoys me.
Wat is daar
What is there?
in mijn binnenste zit
inside me is
dat een spiegel is
that it is a mirror
waardoor ik eigenlijk
which actually makes me
het niet in balans is in mezelf.
it is not in balance within myself.
Dat is één van de dingen.
That is one of the things.
De joker had heel veel verlatingsangst
The joker had a lot of abandonment issues.
en bindingsangst.
and fear of commitment.
Ik heb hem uit een asiel gehaald.
I got him from a shelter.
Ik heb drie jaar met hem gewerkt
I worked with him for three years.
om hem
about him
vertrouwen te kunnen geven.
to be able to give trust.
Op een bepaald moment,
At a certain point,
dat wil ik toch vertellen,
I still want to share that,
hij kon niet zonder mij zijn.
He could not be without me.
Hij moest tegen mij plakken
He had to stick to me.
en hij huilde als ik wegging.
and he cried when I left.
Uit die angst.
Out of that fear.
That was also a mirror for me.
Op een bepaald moment,
At a certain point,
drie jaar later,
three years later,
zit ik in mijn living
I am sitting in my living room.
en ik denk, waar is hij aan de hand?
and I think, what's going on with him?
Hij had de deur opengedaan,
He had opened the door,
want dat kon hij toen nog.
because he could still do that then.
He had gone for a walk in the large garden.
en hij zat op een bepaald moment
and he was sitting at a certain moment
voor de muur.
for the wall.
Dit is de muur
This is the wall.
where he can look out over the street
omdat de bussen passeren.
because the buses are passing.
Hij was aan het kijken
He was watching.
en ik zat in mijn living
and I was sitting in my living room
en ik denk, amai.
and I think, wow.
Fantastisch. Hij heeft vertrouwen gekregen.
Fantastic. He has gained confidence.
En ik heb ook vertrouwen gekregen.
And I have also gained trust.
En op dat moment,
And at that moment,
je ziet de foto,
you see the photo,
draait hij zich om
he turns around
en doet hij zo naar mij.
and he behaves like that towards me.
Echt waar.
Really true.
En hij ging verder kijken
And he continued to look further.
naar de straat en ik dacht,
to the street and I thought,
we zijn er.
we are here.
Wat een leraar heb ik gekregen.
What a teacher I've received.
Wat een cadeau is dat.
What a gift that is.
En hij is op het laatste nu,
And he is at the end now,
ik zeg het al een jaar,
I've been saying it for a year,
maar nu gaat het echt heel moeilijk
but now it is really very difficult
met hem.
with him.
And actually, I will lose him within a few weeks.
I will have a lot of sadness around that.
We also did emotional freedom technique there.
om hem los te laten,
to let him go,
want dat is eigenlijk zoals mijn zoon.
because that is actually like my son.
Maar ik ben dankbaar.
But I am grateful.
Ik ben dankbaar.
I am grateful.
Ik ben vanmorgen vertrokken
I left this morning.
and when I came here, I told him
look boy, if you want to go to heaven,
het is goed. Ga maar.
It's fine. Go ahead.
Ik zal misschien even meewandelen
I might just walk along for a bit.
met u tot aan de poort.
with you to the gate.
En ga dan maar.
And just go ahead.
En ik heb,
And I have,
voordat ik ziek werd,
before I got sick,
en dan sluit ik echt af,
and then I really wrap it up,
mijn allereerste boek
my very first book
dat ik 25 jaar geleden heb geschreven,
that I wrote 25 years ago,
het heeft zin,
it makes sense,
heb ik helemaal herschreven
I have completely rewritten it.
met die 25 jaar inzichten
with those 25 years of insights
zowel op fysiek, mentaal, emotioneel,
both physically, mentally, emotionally,
helemaal herschreven naar
completely rewritten to
wat doe ik hier?
What am I doing here?
En ik moet zeggen,
And I must say,
ik heb op die 25 jaar
I have on that 25 years.
veel geleerd en dat zal
learned a lot and that will
blijven doorgaan natuurlijk, want het stopt
of course, keep going, because it stops
nooit niet. We hadden dat geschreven,
never ever. We had written that,
dat was gedrukt,
that was printed,
then I got sick and then I have very
hard mogen toepassen
to apply firmly
wat ik daarin
what I in that
geschreven en beweerd heb.
written and claimed.
Dat is een uitdaging geweest.
That has been a challenge.
Maar het is wel gelukt.
But it has worked.
Dus, voilà, ik denk
So, here you go, I think.
dat we er ongeveer
that we are about
zijn. En dus
to be. And so
kan ik, het is soms moeilijk,
can I, it is sometimes difficult,
niet altijd, maar ik heb
not always, but I have
altijd vertrouwen,
always trust,
als het een moeilijke fase is, ook
if it is a difficult phase, also
deze fase gaat voorbij. En dat heb ik van Jan
this phase will pass. And I got that from Jan.
geleerd. Er zijn zes
learned. There are six
fases van transformatie
phases of transformation
die zo van levensbelang
that is so vital for life
I don't know if he is going to talk about that.
vertellen, maar voor mij zijn ze
to tell, but for me they are
dat is een openbaring
that is a revelation
geweest van, als het een moeilijke
been of, if it's a difficult
fase is, ook deze fase
phase is, also this phase
gaat voorbij en vandaar dat
passes by and therefore
ik het merendeel van de tijd
I most of the time
hier kan zitten als
here can sit as
een gelukkige mens.
a happy person.
Ja, voilà. En dan ga ik
Yes, here we go. And then I'm going.
hem nu aankondigen, dames en heren.
Now announcing him, ladies and gentlemen.
Eén van de mensen waarbij ik
One of the people I
drie jaar opleiding gevolgd heb in
I have followed three years of training in
Brussel, Jan Jansen.
Brussels, Jan Jansen.
Hoe moet ik hem aankondigen?
How should I announce him?
Ja, het is het
Yes, it is.
meest vergaande misschien
most far-reaching perhaps
voor sommige mensen,
for some people,
but he can only stay for an hour, so we
must make, yes, he had to now or it would go
niet. En ik wou hem er per se bij.
no. And I specifically wanted him there.
Ik heb eigenlijk drie
I actually have three.
jaar opleiding bij hem gevolgd over
year of training followed with him about
bewustzijnsverruiming, over healing.
consciousness expansion, about healing.
Ik ben bij hem terechtgekomen
I ended up with him.
in de aquahealing, in het water.
in the aquahealing, in the water.
Genezen in het water, dat is
Healed in the water, that is
zalig, dat is alsof je in de
blissful, that is as if you are in the
moederbuik zit.
mother's belly is.
Ik vind het een hele grappige mens,
I find him a very funny person.
een hele serieuze mens, een integere
a very serious person, a trustworthy one
mens en vooral
man and especially
een hele fijne mens. Dames en heren,
a very nice person. Ladies and gentlemen,
mag ik jullie applaus voor Jan Jansen.
May I have your applause for Jan Jansen.
Ik denk dat je nog één ding
I think you have one more thing.
vergeten te zeggen bent. Ik ben ook een verlegen mens.
forgot to say you are. I am also a shy person.
Oh.
Oh.
Dus kwestie van veilig voelen op podium
So it's a matter of feeling safe on stage.
ga ik
I'm going.
I think I need to come to your course.
Maar ik ga zo proberen te toepassen
But I will try to apply it soon.
wat ik leer. Ik ben
what I learn. I am
niet zoveel meer een doener
not so much a doer anymore
dan een verteller. Dus ik
than a storyteller. So I
ga vooral jullie laten proeven,
make sure to let them taste,
denk ik, van wat ik aanbied.
I think, of what I offer.
En
And
ik heb een
I have a
samenraapsel gemaakt van
hodgepodge made of
best practices die ik
best practices that I
over verschillende plekken in de wereld heb ontdekt.
discovered in various places around the world.
En die heb ik
And I have that.
samengebracht, wat ik noem
brought together, what I call
integrale aanwezigheid.
integral presence.
En er zijn
And there are
21 aspecten aan, maar het eerste
21 aspects to, but the first
aspect is
aspect is
thuiskomen in het
coming home in the
nu-moment.
now-moment.
En dat is tegenwoordig ook al
And that is something these days as well.
populair in de richting van
popular in the direction of
mindfulness. Mindfulness begint zijn weg
Mindfulness. Mindfulness is beginning to find its way.
to be found in the world, even in schools.
En het is ook het basis van
And it is also the basis of
integrale aanwezigheid, in het
integral presence, in the
nu-moment komen. En hoe doe je
now-moment come. And how do you do
dat? Dat gaat
That? That's fine.
het gemakkelijkste met
the easiest with
de ademhaling. En ik
the breathing. And I
wil jullie even uitnodigen
I would like to invite you.
om even bewust te ademen.
to consciously breathe for a moment.
En gewoon,
And just,
dat wil zeggen,
that is to say,
de aandacht gewoon koppelen
just connect the attention
aan de ademhaling.
to the breathing.
Ademen doen we vaak onbewust,
We often breathe unconsciously,
eigenlijk meestal onbewust.
actually mostly unconsciously.
En dit is een uitnodiging
And this is an invitation.
om voor een minuutje
to be for a minute
of zo, de ademhaling
or so, the breathing
bewust te beleven.
to experience consciously.
Dus, aandacht
So, attention
naar de longen, naar de borstkas
to the lungs, to the chest cavity
en inademen.
and inhale.
En gewoon bewust zijn van de inademing.
And simply being aware of the inhalation.
Bewust
Conscious
uitademen.
exhale.
Bewust inademen.
Conscious breathing.
Bewust
Conscious
uitademen.
exhale.
En meestal heeft dat gelijk twee effecten.
And usually that has two effects.
Eén effect is van oei,
One effect is of oh no,
ik heb een lichaam.
I have a body.
We suddenly have more contact with our body.
En ons lichaam,
And our body,
ons lijf, is altijd in het
our body is always in the
nieuwe moment.
new moment.
Ons verstand zit vaak in de toekomst,
Our mind is often in the future,
in het verleden, er tussendoor.
in the past, in between.
He is always traveling, here, somewhere else.
Maar ons lijf
But our body
is altijd hier.
is always here.
En ons
And us
lijf is altijd in het nieuwe moment.
The body is always in the new moment.
En
And
dat is ook een heilzame beweging
that is also a beneficial movement
om een beetje meer contact terug
to get a little more contact back
met ons lichaam te krijgen.
to get with our body.
We waren,
We were,
we leefden al in een mentale wereld
we already lived in a mental world
waar de mentale
where the mental
opvoeding heel belangrijk was.
upbringing was very important.
Meer nog dan de lichamelijke opvoeding
More than physical education
of de emotionele opvoeding.
or emotional upbringing.
Maar nu
But now
komt daar bovendien nog
is there also still
veel werk is gewoon achter het scherm zitten.
A lot of work is just sitting behind the screen.
Dus activiteit
So activity
is visueel het scherm bekijken,
is visually looking at the screen,
erover nadenken,
think about it,
een paar bewegingen met de vinger,
a few movements with the finger,
maar het lijf
but the body
wordt zo passief. Nu zijn er nog
becomes so passive. Now there are still
de apparaatjes bijgekomen.
the devices have arrived.
Voilà.
There you go.
Vandaar nu de uitnodiging om eens
Hence the invitation to once
bewust te ademen, bewust contact
consciously breathing, conscious contact
te maken met het lichaam.
to do with the body.
En ook door te staan
And also by standing firm.
kunnen we een beetje meer contact maken
Can we make a little more contact?
met ons lichaam. En dan komen we ook gelijk bij
with our body. And then we also immediately come to
het tweede element van integrale aanwezigheid
the second element of integral presence
is centreren.
is to center.
En
And
ik nodig jullie allemaal uit
I invite you all.
to visualize from, in the center of our body
is er een as.
is there a axle.
Een centrale as.
A central axis.
And we are going to play a bit with that ash.
We are going to shift our balance a little forward.
en dan op een bepaald moment
and then at a certain moment
komt deze as
does this axle come
buiten het vierkantje van ons voeten
outside the little square of our feet
en dat is het moment dat we
and that is the moment that we
evenwicht verliezen.
losing balance.
The same backwards, we can adjust the axis a bit.
naar achter doen
to put back
en terug in het midden plaatsen
and place back in the middle
en de as een beetje opzij
and the ash a little to the side
terug in het midden
back in the middle
andere kant en weer in het midden
other side and again in the middle
en
and
dat is een oefening om ons centrum
that is an exercise for our center
first of all, becoming a bit aware
en ik blijf goed ademen
and I keep breathing well
Deze as heeft
This axle has
fysieke effecten
physical effects
beter evenwicht
better balance
fysiologisch beter in balans komen
becoming physiologically better balanced
maar deze as heeft ook
but this axle also has
psychologische effecten
psychological effects
in het leven worden we soms
In life, we are sometimes
gehaast
hasty
wegens druk van achter of iets
due to pressure from behind or something
wat ons trekt
what attracts us
en we worden naar voor getrokken
and we are being pulled forward
en we zijn uit ons centrum
and we are out of our center
psychologisch begrijpen wat dat betekent
psychologically understand what that means
maar dus ook letterlijk energetisch
but also literally energetically
gebeurt er iets in ons systeem
Is something happening in our system?
en als we uit ons centrum
and if we come out of our center
worden getrokken
are being drawn
zijn we tegelijk zwakker
are we weaker at the same time
en meer uit evenwicht
and more out of balance
dus terug in ons centrum komen
so coming back to our center
we vinden terug meer evenwicht
we find more balance again
maar tegelijkertijd
but at the same time
is ons centrum
is our center
de plek van onze grootste kracht
the place of our greatest strength
zodra we
as soon as we
From our center, we have less strength.
voila
there you go
de as
the ash
en nog een ander aspect
and another aspect
aan centreren is
to center is
de hara
the hara
de hara is een Japans woord
the hara is a Japanese word
en de
and the
de martial arts
the martial arts
ze zeggen in het Nederlands
I often think in English, the martial arts.
in de Japanse gevechtskunsten
in the Japanese martial arts
gebruiken ze vaak de hara
do they often use the hara
en de hara is
and the hara is
een krachtplek in de onderbuik
a power place in the lower abdomen
en de hara bevindt zich
and the hara is located
vier vingerbreedte
four finger breadths
onder de navel
below the navel
and I invite us to have a look there once
de handen op te leggen
to lay hands on
en goed blijven ademen
and keep breathing well
bewust inademen
conscious breathing
en bewust uitademen
and consciously exhaling
en
and
in onze gestresseerde samenleving
in our stressed society
wat er ook vaak gebeurt
what often happens too
is dat onze ademhaling heel oppervlakkig wordt
that our breathing becomes very shallow
en hier en nu
here and now
nodig ik jullie uit
I invite you all.
om bewust te blijven ademen
to breathe consciously
en ruim
and spacious
te ademen
to breathe
maar ook de adem
but also the breath
helemaal tot in de buik
all the way to the belly
te laten gaan
to let go
uiteraard het is niet de lucht
Of course, it is not the air.
die tot de buik gaat
that goes up to the belly
de lucht die blijft in de longen
the air that remains in the lungs
maar energetisch
but energetically
kan je de ademhaling tot heel helemaal
Can you breathe all the way to the very end?
in de buik brengen
to become pregnant
and I invite you to come there sometime
even te testen
to test it out
inademen
breathe in
en uitademen
and exhale
oké gewoon als
okay just like
eerste testritje
first test ride
in integrale aanwezigheid
in integral presence
je sprak over
you spoke about
de transformatie
the transformation
de zesfase van transformatie
the six phases of transformation
want daar heb ik zoveel aan gehad
because I have benefited so much from that
in mijn leven
in my life
en hier opnieuw
and here again
als er iets gebeurt
if something happens
denk ik aan die fases
I think of those phases.
in welke fase zit ik nu
In which phase am I now?
and I know there is a next phase coming
that gives me immense peace and confidence
dat welke turbulentie
that which turbulence
er ook aanwezig is
is also present
het gaat voorbij
it will pass
en dat dank ik aan u
and I owe that to you
dus misschien is het handig
so maybe it's handy
van daar eens iets over te zeggen
to say something about that
oké ik dank het aan de inspiratie
Okay, I owe it to the inspiration.
die je gekregen hebt
that you have received
dat ik heb mogen doorgeven
that I have been allowed to pass on
dus al van
so even from
denk ik 98 dat ik mensen
I think 98 that I people
begeleid
accompany
and a few thousand people have passed by
en
and
vroeger toen ik begon
earlier when I started
had ik met het idee van
had I with the idea of
groei is eigenlijk een lineaire
growth is actually linear
stijgende lijn
upward trend
we beginnen daar
we start there
en we passen een methode toe
and we apply a method
en dan geraken we daar
and then we get there
en dan passen we een methode toe
and then we apply a method
en dan geraken we daar
and then we get there
and I thought of a straight rising line
en na een tijdje heb ik ontdekt
and after a while, I discovered
nee het is geen rechte stijgende lijn
no it is not a straight upward line
het is meer een cyclus
it's more of a cycle
die steeds terugkomt
that keeps coming back
en die lijn is met de tijd
and that line is with time
omgebogen tot een spiraal
bent into a spiral
en het lastige
and the difficult thing
aan de spiraal
to the spiral
als je die nog niet kent
if you don't know that yet
is dat oei
is that oh dear
het komt weer terug
it's coming back again
de moeilijkheid of het probleem
the difficulty or the problem
and then when you're in the mindset
van een stijgende lijn
of an upward trend
ik ben weer terug vanaf
I am back again from
maar eigenlijk begin je aan
but actually you start with
de volgende cyclus
the next cycle
en
and
en dan geraak je er door
and then you'll get through it
en als je er door geraakt
and if you get through it
Are you coming a bit higher than last time?
en dan kan je ervan profiteren
and then you can take advantage of it
maar het leven gaat opnieuw
but life goes on again
uitdagingen geven
to provide challenges
en je komt dan misschien gelijkaardige
and you might then come similar
uiterlijke problemen tegen
external problems against
en waarschijnlijk ook gelijkaardige
and probably also similar
innerlijke reacties
inner reactions
en dan oh oh nee
and then oh oh no
weer dat probleem
again that problem
oh weer die moeilijkheid
oh, that difficulty again
oh weer die gedachte
oh, that thought again
and if you think yes, I am back
van de lijn gedaald
got off the line
dan denk je dat je gefaald hebt
then you think you have failed
maar ik heb ontdekt van oh
but I have discovered from oh
het is gewoon de volgende fase
it's just the next phase
in de cyclus
in the cycle
dus telkens ga je zes fases door
so each time you go through six phases
weer een fase
another phase
en weer een fase
and again a phase
en eens dat je begint te merken
and once you start to notice
dat je het succes hebt doorgeleefd
that you have experienced the success
als er dan een nieuwe fase
if there is then a new phase
komt dan besef je dan oh ok
Then it comes to you, like, oh okay.
die fase komt er weer aan
that phase is coming again
ik ken het
I know it.
and then you are no longer
zo wanhopig van oei
so desperate of oops
alles is mislukt
everything has failed
maar oh dit is gewoon een fase
but oh this is just a phase
ik weet dat die
I know that one.
niet blijft duren
does not continue
en dus dat was mijn eerste
and so that was my first
ontdekking en dan geleidelijk
discovery and then gradually
Then I am the one who starts those phases.
identificeren
identify
de fase
the phase
pré-conscience
pre-consciousness
de onbewuste fase
the unconscious phase
de voorbewuste fase
the preconscious phase
er is ogenschijnlijk niks aan de hand
There appears to be nothing wrong.
maar dat zit onder uw oppervlakte
but that's beneath your surface
dat zit daaronder
that is under there
ik heb helemaal geen problemen
I have no problems at all.
ik heb nooit problemen
I never have problems.
ik ga nooit problemen hebben
I will never have problems.
and you can keep trying to push that away
en de schijn ophouden
and maintain the appearance
maar dan?
but then?
en dan het water stijgt
and then the water rises
dit is de oppervlakte
this is the surface
en op dat moment
and at that moment
raakt het de oppervlakte
does it touch the surface
en dat is het moment van confrontatie
and that is the moment of confrontation
dat is de tweede fase
that is the second phase
de weerstand
the resistance
het is er nog niet door
it hasn't gone through yet
het kondigt zich aan
it is announcing itself
maar ik wil het nog niet horen
but I don't want to hear it yet
ik wil het nog niet zien
I don't want to see it yet.
ik wil het nog niet weten
I don't want to know yet.
weerstand fase we zijn in strijd
resistance phase we are in struggle
and that can also go well for a while
I have not succeeded in pushing it away.
het is weg
it is gone
kom het zo sterk naar boven
it comes up so strongly
that it can no longer be suppressed
niet meer te ontkennen is
cannot be denied anymore
niet meer te omzeilen is
can no longer be circumvented
en dat is de confrontatiefase
and that is the confrontation phase
dus een bepaalde realiteit
so a certain reality
die we niet hebben willen zien
that we did not want to see
waar we niet mee willen hebben omgaan
that we do not want to deal with
dwingt
forces
en dient zich aan
and presents itself
en dwingt zich aan
and imposes itself
bijna
almost
en dan ja
and then yes
omdat we dat
because we that
weggedrukt hebben
pressed away
we haven't learned to deal with it very well
dus het is normaal
so it's normal
that as soon as that reality we have pushed away
wanneer die binnenkomt
when it comes in
in ons bewustzijn
in our consciousness
dat we onhandig zijn
that we are clumsy
en vandaar heb ik die fase
and that is why I have that phase
de chaos fase genoemd
the phase called chaos
chaos
chaos
dat is niet zomaar chaos
that is not just chaos
if you handle that chaos in the right way
dan kan je die chaos
then you can handle that chaos
veranderen in
change into
creatieve chaos
creative chaos
dus dat is geen chaos van
so that is not chaos from
alles ligt overop
everything is over it
het is een grote wanorde
it is a great disorder
en het blijft een wanorde
and it remains a chaos
het is eigenlijk
it is actually
als je van een bepaalde strakke toestand
if you are in a certain tight state
naar een nog betere toestand wil geraken
want to achieve an even better state.
moet er bepaalde structuren
must there be certain structures
eerst ontbonden worden
first be dissolved
ontrafeld worden
to be unraveled
of zelfs afgebroken worden
or even be broken off
eer dat je het kunt herbouwen
before you can rebuild it
naar een betere structuur
towards a better structure
en dat is de chaos fase
and that is the chaos phase
er zijn nog vaste structuren
there are still fixed structures
die niet meer werken
those that no longer work
en die moeten afgebroken worden
and they need to be demolished
of die moeten
or they must
verdwijnen of opgelost worden
disappear or be resolved
en iets verder in de creatieve fase
and further along in the creative phase
begint zich spontaan
starts to happen spontaneously
of met hulp
or with help
de herstructurerings fase
the restructuring phase
aan te kondigen
to announce
so the old structure that no longer works
wordt afgebroken
is being dismantled
de nieuwe structuur is er nog niet
the new structure is not there yet
dat is chaos en ongemakkelijk
that is chaos and uncomfortable
maar dan de nieuwe structuur
but then the new structure
begint zich aan te dienen
begins to present itself
and then as a guide you can help to
die nieuwe structuur te helpen erkennen
to help recognize that new structure
te vormen, te stabiliseren
to shape, to stabilize
en als de nieuwe structuur er is
and when the new structure is in place
dan ben je de cyclus
then you are the cycle
helemaal door
completely through
and then there is still an important phase
die noem ik de integratiefase
I call that the integration phase.
van oké
from okay
we hebben het probleem helemaal doorleefd
we have fully experienced the problem
of voor zover we kunnen opgelost
or as far as we can solve it
en
and
het komt in orde
It will be all right.
then it is also important to take advantage of it
ik heb ook mensen gekend
I have also known people.
die zo bezig waren
who were so busy
met hun zelfontwikkeling
with their self-development
van oké ik heb mijn probleem opgelost
Okay, I solved my problem.
wat is nu het volgende probleem
What is the next problem now?
en zo oké
and so okay
maar wat is nu het volgende probleem
but what is the next problem now
dus die namen niet de tijd
so those names do not take the time
om echt te profiteren van
to truly benefit from
eigenlijk nu is het rustig
Actually, it's quiet now.
nu is het vredevol
Now it is peaceful.
er is een open horizon
there is an open horizon
we gaan er een beetje van genieten
we are going to enjoy it a little bit
profiteren
to profit
Can you give a practical example of that?
een probleemsituatie noemen
to mention a problem situation
die zes fases is doorlopen daarmee
those six phases have been completed with that
ik denk aan iemand
I am thinking of someone.
die schrik had
that was scared
om met een bepaalde persoon
to be with a certain person
om te gaan op het werk
to go to work
en
and
de hele tijd was
the whole time was
alle strategieën op het werk
all strategies at work
I was about to avoid that person.
ontzeilen
sailing away
maar de werksituaties dienden zich zo aan
but the work situations presented themselves this way
van ja
from yes
At a certain point, there has to be cooperation.
en ontwijken en ontzeilen gaat niet
and avoiding and evading does not work
en dan
and then
is die persoon gekomen met van
Has that person come with van?
Yes, it's not working anymore at work.
ik ga ontslag moeten nemen
I am going to have to resign.
en ik zei maar laten we
and I said let's just
laten we kijken wat er gebeurt
let's see what happens
and then we conducted a study of
na die confrontatiefase
after that confrontational phase
uiterlijke confrontatiefase van
external confrontation phase of
ah met die persoon samenwerken
ah to work with that person
ik kan het niet meer ontzeilen
I can no longer dodge it.
het moet gebeuren
it must happen
ik zei voordat je ontslag neemt
I said before you quit.
let's take a look at what is happening inside
en toen hebben we alle
and then we had all
stemmetjes kunnen ontrafelen van
voices can unravel from
van wat die persoon tegen zichzelf
from what that person is saying to themselves
zei in gedachten
said in thought
en tegen de ander
and against the other
in which phase was that person at that moment
van uw zes fases
of your six phases
toen kwamen we al in de confrontatie
then we already got into the confrontation
in chaos fase
in chaos phase
dus
so
bewustwording van een hoop
awareness of a lot
negatieve
negative
destructieve stemmetjes
destructive voices
but not knowing what to do with it
dus dat was dan de chaos fase
so that was the chaos phase
en toen
and then
toen kwamen er eigenlijk
then there actually came
vijf basis statements uit
five basic statements out
van
from
ik ben het niet waard
I am not worth it.
ik verdien het niet
I don't deserve it.
ik ben minder
I am less.
dus dat is een behoorlijk
so that's quite a
minderwaardigheidscomplex
inferiority complex
en toen hebben we al die statements
and then we have all those statements
wat dieper aangepakt
addressed more deeply
en elke statement
and each statement
kunnen ontrafelen
can unravel
en vertalen naar een
and translate to a
empowering statement
empowering statement
naar een zelfbevestigende
to a self-affirming
innerlijke stem
inner voice
positieve
positive
zelfbevestiging
self-affirmation
en dat was dan de herstructureringsfase
and that was the restructuring phase
en daarna
and then
het eerste succesje was gewoon
the first little success was simply
een vergadering van één uur
a one-hour meeting
dat die persoon overleefd heeft
that that person has survived
met die
with that
moeilijke personage op het werk
difficult character at work
en
and
en het volgende succes was dan
and the next success was then
ik heb mijn mening
I have my opinion.
durven zeggen
dare to say
en een stap verder
and a step further
hij heeft
he has
een opmerking gemaakt
a comment made
waar ik ongelukkig om was
what I was unhappy about
en ik heb daar
and I have there
iets op kunnen terug zeggen
be able to respond to something
dus dat waren telkens een stapje
so that was always a step
van meer
of more
assertiviteit
assertiveness
binnen die relatie op het werk
within that relationship at work
ik heb zelf ook ondervonden
I have also experienced it myself.
door dat toe te passen
by applying that
dat inderdaad een probleem te kunnen over
that indeed a problem can be overcome
die transformatiefases
the transformational phases
kunnen op hele kleine dingen toepassen
can be applied to very small things
maar ook op hele grote problemen
but also on very large problems
en wat ik ook geleerd heb is
and what I have also learned is
soms kan iets heel snel gaan
sometimes things can go very fast
soms kan het best een tijd duren
Sometimes it can take quite a while.
maar altijd als een probleem terugkeert
but whenever a problem returns
via iemand anders
through someone else
want dat hoeft niet altijd
because that doesn't always have to be the case
met dezelfde persoon te zijn
to be with the same person
of dezelfde omgeving
or the same environment
dan kan ik daar naar kijken
Then I can take a look at that.
but every time there is a bit of growth
dus ik vind die fase
so I find that phase
wat je aantoont
what you demonstrate
is dat die spiraal
is that the spiral
het bewustzijn en de groei
consciousness and growth
wordt alsmaar ruimer
is becoming increasingly spacious
so that comforts me in the fact
ik zei vroeger altijd van
I used to always say that
wanneer gaat dat hier nu eens
when is that going to happen here already
een keer ophouden
stop it once
I think everyone has experienced that at some point.
wel ik heb nieuws voor u
Well, I have news for you.
nooit
never
maar het wordt wel
but it will be
and I have learned a lot from Fabienne as well
dat hebben we ook vaak besproken
we have often discussed that too
het wordt makkelijker
it becomes easier
het wordt zachter
it is getting softer
het wordt zelf en gegroeid
it becomes itself and grown
het is en je weet
it is and you know
als je die fases herkent
if you recognize those phases
ik zit in de chaosfase
I am in the chaos phase.
wat mijn meest favoriete fase is
what my most favorite phase is
en dan
and then
dat is typisch voor controle mensen
that is typical for control people
ja, daarom
yes, that's why
en dan denk ik
and then I think
oké, we zitten hierin
Okay, we are in this.
maar er komt een volgende fase aan
but a next phase is coming
and I seek help when I need it
en dan kun je met die inzichten
and then you can use those insights
kunnen kijken
can look
oké
okay
kan ik naar mogelijke oplossingen gaan
Can I go to possible solutions?
en dat is een zegen
and that is a blessing
moet ik zeggen
do I have to say
dat is echt een zegen
that is really a blessing
dus dank u wel
so thank you very much
dank u wel
thank you very much
Jan, u mocht een bloemetje kiezen
Jan, you could choose a flower.
u mocht
you may
een bloemetje kiezen
choosing a flower
voila, dank u wel
there you go, thank you very much
dan ga ik
then I will go
eigenlijk nu
actually now
naar de volgende persoon
to the next person
ja, hoe zal ik ze noemen
Yes, how shall I name them?
ik heb ze leren kennen via Jan
I got to know them through Jan.
in de opleiding
in the training
de vierjaarlijkse opleiding
the quadrennial training
ik heb er drie jaar van gedaan
I took three years to do it.
zij was toen al mijn meter
she was already my godmother then
in de opleiding
in the training
and she has turned out to be my godmother in every way
eigenlijk is zij voor mij
actually, she is for me
een zeer zeer zeer zeer
a very very very very
warme moeder
warm mother
iemand die
someone who
en dat had ik heel erg nodig
and I really needed that
in mijn leven, iemand die
in my life, someone who
nooit afwijst
never rejects
die kijkt naar de persoon
that looks at the person
die aanvaard
that accepted
en eigenlijk heel neutraal observeert
and actually observes very neutrally
hoe iemand is
how someone is
en met welke problemen hij aankomt
and what problems he is facing
om die heel warm
to make it very warm
heel omarmend
very embracing
te kunnen verwerken
to be able to process
andere inzichten te krijgen
to gain different insights
en te kunnen kijken naar
and to be able to look at
uzelf
yourself
and that is not only mentally emotionally
vlak gebeurd, maar daardoor heeft mijn
just happened, but because of that my
fysiek ook het afgelopen jaar, ondanks mijn
physically also the past year, despite my
feit dat het puur een infectie was
the fact that it was purely an infection
it has that there very much
aan geholpen, niet in die
helped, not in that
negatieve spiraal te zitten
to be in a negative spiral
zij zal uitleggen wat familieopstellingen zijn
she will explain what family constellations are
what has helped me with my childhood traumas
enorm te verwerken, dames en heren
enormously to process, ladies and gentlemen
Fabienne Pirijn
Fabienne Pirijn
dank u
thank you
and what Els forgot to say is that I
Franstalig ben, van moedertaal en schooltaal
I am French-speaking, both in my native language and in school language.
en van Brussel omgeving
and from the Brussels area
en daar worden Frans en Nederlands soms
and there French and Dutch sometimes become
nogal wat door mekaar geklusht
quite a bit mashed up
dus ik ga
so I'm going
mijn uiterste best doen vandaag in het
I will do my utmost today in the
Nederlands en als ik een beetje struikel
Dutch and if I trip a bit
hoop ik op jullie vergeving
I hope for your forgiveness.
familieopstellingen
family constellations
wat is dat voor een beest
What kind of beast is that?
misschien even beginnen met
maybe start with
het woordje uitleg over
the word explanation about
de naam familieopstellingen
the name family constellations
zoals iedereen weet ondertussen
as everyone knows by now
is onze familie
is our family
ons milieu van zeer grote
our environment of very large
invloed op ons welzijn
influence on our well-being
niet alleen fysiek maar ook mentaal
not only physically but also mentally
en emotioneel, van kleins af
and emotional, from a young age
eigenlijk
actually
en we leven allemaal met een
and we all live with a
sporen in ons
traces in us
van de kenmerken van onze familie
of the characteristics of our family
en ons milieu
and our environment
Some parts of that inheritance are very pleasant.
en maken ons leven gemakkelijk
and make our lives easy
maar de perfecte familie
but the perfect family
werd nog niet geschapen dus
was not created yet then
For other parts, it is a bit more difficult.
en zou men wel eens dromen van
and one might sometimes dream of
die te kunnen achter ons
to be able to leave behind us
laten om wat luchtiger
let's keep it a little lighter
verder te gaan in ons leven
to continue in our lives
de familieopstelling
the family constellation
Toon, met de familieopstelling Toon
Show, with the family setup Toon.
gaat men merken dat onze
will one notice that our
invloedskader nog ruimer is
influence framework is even broader
eigenlijk dan gewoon ons ouders en
actually just our parents and
ons broers en zussen
our brothers and sisters
het gaat ook om onze
it's also about our
grootouders, achtergroothouders
grandparents, great-grandparents
en eigenlijk alle voorvaders
and actually all the ancestors
die soms sporen kunnen hebben gelaten
that may have left traces sometimes
in ons systeem
in our system
een kort en zeer evident
a short and very evident
voorbeeld is
example is
als onze grootvader bijvoorbeeld
for example, if our grandfather
een militair was
a military was
zeer veelhuisend op
very many house on
stiptheid en opvoedingsprincipes
punctuality and educational principles
en dergelijke meer of als die
and such or like that
een artiest was met veel creativiteit
an artist was full of creativity
en fantasie
and fantasy
ja dan zal onze vader
Yes, then our father
een totaal andere
a totally different
opvoeding waarschijnlijk gekregen hebben
likely received education
en dat zal op zijn beurt
and that will in turn
hij zal daar op zijn beurt
he will in turn there
op reageren door ofwel een beetje hetzelfde
to react by either doing something a little similar
te repliceren
to replicate
ofwel totaal omgekeerde omdat hij
or totally the opposite because he
een slechte herinnering aan heeft
has a bad memory of
and that in turn has an influence
op ons milieu
on our environment
en ik ben zeker dat jullie allemaal
and I am sure that you all
een voorbeeld in hoofden hebben van
to have an example in mind of
hoe jullie eigen erfenis
how your own heritage
tot stand is gekomen
has come into being
we merken
we notice
dus dat we allemaal
so that we all
verstrengeld zijn ik weet niet of dat
being entangled I don't know if that
het meest juiste woord is maar
the most correct word is but
in het Engels spreekt men van
in English, we speak of
intrication
entanglement
daarmee bedoel ik dat we allemaal
I mean that we all
samengeweven zijn
to be interwoven
door liefde en loyaliteitsbanden
through love and bonds of loyalty
bewust of onbewust
conscious or unconscious
we maken dus deel uit van
we are therefore part of
wat men een systeem noemt
what one calls a system
een opstelling soms ook nog
a setup sometimes also still
constellatie genoemd
named constellation
en eigenlijk
and actually
is het
is it
werken in systemen
working in systems
de basisorganisatie
the basic organization
van natuur en mens
of nature and man
de zee is een systeem
the sea is a system
waar de planten en de dieren
where the plants and the animals
moeten samen functioneren
must function together
overleven
survive
onze groentetuin is een systeem
our vegetable garden is a system
waar de grond
where the ground
de kwaliteit van de zaden
the quality of the seeds
het licht, het water van kwaliteit
the light, the water of quality
moeten zijn om een goede oogst
must be for a good harvest
te hebben
to have
ons lichaam is een systeem uiteraard
Our body is a system, of course.
waar al onze organen moeten samen
where all our organs must come together
functioneren
functioning
en ons persoonlijk systeem
and our personal system
onthoudt dus sporen van
so it retains traces of
een aantal evenementen
a number of events
zelfs doorheen de generaties
even through the generations
zo kan men soms in bepaalde
this way one can sometimes in certain
families repetitieve schema's
families' repetitive patterns
zien ontstaan, bijvoorbeeld
see arise, for example
de meeste vrouwen verliezen
most women lose
hun eerste kind
their first child
tristig voorbeeld, er zijn er gelukkig
sad example, fortunately there are some
andere, maar daarvoor gaat men niet naar
other, but one does not go for that
een therapeut
a therapist
dus er zijn zo van die sporen
So there are those kinds of tracks.
die moeilijk te verklaren zijn
that are difficult to explain
op eerste zicht
at first glance
systemen zoeken altijd een beter
systems always seek a better
evenwicht, zie maar naar de eindeloze
balance, just look at the endless
aanpassing van de natuur aan de
adaptation of nature to the
evenementen, en zo is dat ook
events, and so it is
in familieopstellingen
in family constellations
we zien dat meestal
we usually see that
maar er wordt altijd naar een beter
but there is always a search for better
evenwicht gezocht in onze systemen
balance sought in our systems
wanneer we die systemen
when we die systems
beginnen waar te nemen
to begin to perceive
gaat men merken dat er een aantal
it will be noticed that there are a number of
basisregels zijn
basic rules are
in hun werking
in their operation
laat ons gauw even de voornaamste bekijken
Let us quickly take a look at the main ones.
een systeem functioneert
a system functions
het best wanneer alles in evenwicht is
it is best when everything is in balance
ja Fabien, daarvoor hadden we geen
Yes Fabien, we didn't have that for that.
regels nodig, dat wisten we al lang
rules needed, we already knew that a long time ago
maar
but
It is not always so evident in family constellations.
om dat evenwicht
to maintain that balance
te vinden
to be found
nu, in elk systeem
now, in every system
moet elk element een plaats
Does each element need a place?
krijgen, als we het voorbeeld
get, if we take the example
van ons lichaam verder trekken
pull away from our body
is het snel duidelijk dat
it quickly becomes clear that
al onze organen moeten een plaats hebben
all our organs must have a place
om hun taak te kunnen doen
to be able to do their job
als onze maag totaal gecomprimeerd is
when our stomach is completely compressed
gaat onze vertering minder goed aflopen
will our digestion not go well
or if we were to wear a corset like those ladies
in der tijd, gaan we gemakkelijker
In time, we will find it easier.
flauw vallen, zoals
fainting, such as
ze nu zijn
they are now
en niet alleen heeft alles
and not only does everything have
een plaats nodig, maar het moet
a place needed, but it has to
de juiste plaats zijn
to be in the right place
In the example of our body, it is obvious.
maar we gaan ook zien in familieopstellingen
but we will also see in family constellations
of in familietoestanden
or in family circumstances
dat het niet altijd zo evident is
that it's not always so obvious
in elk systeem
in every system
is er een hiërarchie
Is there a hierarchy?
bewust of onbewust
conscious or unconscious
men kan in een onderneming bijvoorbeeld
one can, for example, in a company
starten in een zeer
starting in a very
informeel participatief model
informal participatory model
op een gegeven moment
at a given moment
ontstaat er een hiërarchie
a hierarchy emerges
om te bespreken wie doet wat
to discuss who does what
wanneer, met wie, tegen wanneer enzovoort
when, with whom, by when, and so on
laatste regel
last line
in elk systeem moet
in every system must
leven circuleren
circulate life
if the blood does not reach one of my organs
geraakt, gaat dat orgaan kapot
hurt, that organ gets damaged
als mijn keel dicht is
when my throat is tight
en de lucht kan niet meer
and the sky can no longer
in my lungs, then I will no longer stand here
oké Fabienne, maar waar staan we nu
Okay Fabienne, but where do we stand now?
with all those rules in the field of
familiesystemen
family systems
wel, een familieopstelling
well, a family constellation
is dus ook een systeem
is therefore also a system
en functioneert met dezelfde regels
and operates under the same rules
en met
and with
dit doel gaat men de onevenwichten
this goal will address the imbalances
de onregelmatigheden
the irregularities
in de systemen
in the systems
kunnen in het licht brengen
bring to light
herschrikken en
recoil and
opnieuw opnemen in een
re-record in a
ander evenwicht eigenlijk
another balance actually
het doel van de familieopstellingen
the purpose of family constellations
is altijd opnieuw
is always again
orde en leven in het systeem
order and life in the system
te brengen
to bring
het is een empirische en
it is an empirical and
fenomenologische methode
phenomenological method
this is the first time I can pronounce that without stuttering
I'm going to do that again, that's fun.
fenomenologische methode
phenomenological method
dat wil dus zeggen een methode
that means a method
die
that
door proef ondervonden is en die
experienced through trial is and that
vertrekt van de geleefde ervaring
starts from the lived experience
so not a theory that one is going to
toepassen, maar eigenlijk een beetje
apply, but actually a little bit
omgekeerd, het is het observeren
Conversely, it is the observing.
jaren en jaren lang
for years and years
dat tot bepaalde regels
that to certain rules
heeft kunnen leiden
has been able to lead
en voordeel
and advantage
One doesn't need to know everything about the origin.
over de oorsprong, de evolutie
about the origin, the evolution
de gebeurtenissen enzovoort
the events etc.
that are going on in that family
de opstelling
the lineup
gaat wat nodig is voor
goes what is needed for
de transformatie van de problematiek
the transformation of the issues
vanzelf onthullen
reveal by itself
dat is een van de krachten
that is one of the strengths
van de aanpak
of the approach
het gaat dus geen zins over
it is therefore not about at all
een spraaktherapie
a speech therapy
maar wel om een energetische therapie
but rather for energetic therapy
waarmee we de moeilijke ervaring
with which we the difficult experience
die bevroren zitten
those frozen ones
in ons systeem
in our system
that stone in the shoe one could actually say
gaan we zichtbaar maken
we are going to make visible
en genezen
and heal
laat ons even kijken
let's take a look
how to work with family constellations
dat zal de zaak misschien al
that may already settle the matter
beginnen verduidelijken
begin to clarify
er zijn twee mogelijkheden
there are two possibilities
men kan in een op een werken
one can work one-on-one
therapeute met een cliënt
therapist with a client
of men kan in groep werken
or men can work in a group
laten we starten met die tweede
let's start with that second one
voorbeeld
example
een groep vrijwilligers voor zulke sessie
a group of volunteers for such a session
komt samen
comes together
en omdat het werk in ons energieveld
and because the work in our energy field
zeer diep en intiem is
very deep and intimate is
en ook zeer subtiel
and also very subtle
zal de therapeut normaal gezien
will the therapist usually
beginnen met de regels
start with the rules
te herhalen in verband met
to be repeated in connection with
openhartheid
frankness
verdraagzaamheid
tolerance
oordeelloosheid en discretie
judgmentlessness and discretion
en dat gaat ook
and that works too
naar de buitenwereld toe
to the outside world
terwijl hij dat doet
while he does that
en de deelnemers dat innemen
and the participants take that in
wordt er een
is there a
overbewustzijn veld
superconscious field
stilaan gecreëerd
slowly created
een systemisch veld
a systemic field
dat kan ontstaan
that can arise
also because of the fact that all those people
samengekomen zijn
to have come together
met de gefocuste intentie
with the focused intention
om in dat veld te werken
to work in that field
met respect voor die regels
with respect for those rules
dit wordt dus als het ware
this is thus, as it were
de ruimte
the space
een van de deelnemers stelt zich dan
one of the participants introduces themselves then
candidate with the question he wants to investigate
in dit jargon wordt hij bij gevolg
in this jargon, he is consequently
de vraagsteller genoemd
the questioner mentioned
de therapeut opent
the therapist opens
al zijn zintuigen
all his senses
en ik wens hier een kleine opmerking
and I would like to make a small remark here
maar belangrijke opmerking
but an important note
te maken
to make
dat is dat in alle energetische therapieën
that is that in all energy therapies
het nog belangrijk is
it is still important
dan in andere therapieën
than in other therapies
om zeer goed afgestemd
to be very well tuned
afgeleid te blijven
to remain distracted
voor de klient
for the client
en met enorm veel ethiek
and with a tremendous amount of ethics
en respect
and respect
de vraagsteller te begeleiden
to guide the questioner
zonder oordelen zoals hier net gezegd
without judgment as just said here
en met ja
and with yes
laat ons het woord durven
let us dare to speak
met liefde
with love
I am not talking about romantic love here, of course.
maar wel van een oprecht
but from a sincere one
en authentiek
and authentic
mededogend onthaal
compassionate reception
van de vraagsteller
from the questioner
wherever he may be on his path
dit is mijn
this is my
spreek misschien vanzelf
might speak for itself
but it can never hurt to say it again
haakje dicht
hook closed
dus we waren gebleven bij
so we had left off at
de therapeut opent al zijn zintuigen
the therapist opens all his senses
zijn opleiding
his education
in de subtiele energieën
in the subtle energies
geeft hem een aantal tools
gives him a number of tools
onder meer om een strategische opstelling
among other things to a strategic positioning
voor te stellen
to propose
wie gaat men vertegenwoordigen
Who will one be representing?
uit de familie van deze persoon
from the family of this person
om de problematiek
about the issues
te bekijken
to view
strategie die een kans maakt
strategy that creates an opportunity
om de nodige informatie
to obtain the necessary information
naar boven te brengen
to bring up
en aan het juiste tempo
and at the right pace
to get to the core of the problem
maar
but
het grote diepe werk
the great deep work
wordt door het veld
is being done by the field
het zo gecreëerd veld
the created field
zelf gedaan
done myself
we surrender to something greater than ourselves
het is dus geen aanpak
so it is not an approach
voor een therapeut met groot ego
for a therapist with a big ego
dus onze vraagsteller
so our questioner
begint aan zijn opstelling
starts on his setup
dat wil zeggen
that is to say
hij kiest onder de aanwezige personen
he chooses among the present persons
wie de door de therapeut voorgestelde
who the therapist proposed
familieleden gaat
family members go
vertegenwoordigen
represent
deze personen in dit jargon
these people in this jargon
noemt men dan de representanten
then the representatives are named
en
and
deze mensen mogen aanvaarden of niet
these people may accept or not
dat is hun vrijheid
that is their freedom
in deze aanpak mag men maar moet men
In this approach, one is allowed but must.
niets
nothing
wel is merkwaardig
well is remarkable
dat men meestal niet per toeval
that one usually does not by chance
gekozen wordt dat wil zeggen
it is chosen that means
dat ons eigen systeem
that our own system
en wij in ons systeem
and we in our system
kunnen genieten van die sessie
can enjoy that session
die zal plaatsvinden
that will take place
that is one of the strengths of the field
mag ik daar
may I there
iets op zeggen Magda, Fabienne
Say something, Magda, Fabienne.
That gives me the opportunity to drink.
ja voilà
yes here it is
nee omdat ik dat even wil illustreren
No, because I want to illustrate that for a moment.
met persoonlijk voorbeeld om het wat
with a personal example to make it a bit
duidelijk te maken is
to clarify
ik ben zowel al vraagsteller
I am both a questioner.
geweest dus ik kwam met een
been there so I came with a
probleem, een probleem in mijn
problem, a problem in my
omgeving, in mijn familie
environment, in my family
wat mij jaren had bezwaard
what had weighed on me for years
maar ik ben ook
but I am also
hulp geweest van iemand
help from someone
anders die met een probleem kwam
otherwise someone who came with a problem
wat gebeurt er dan, dus die
What happens then, so that
probleem, die persoon
problem, that person
heeft het probleem
has the problem
daar rond komen allemaal mensen te staan
There, people gather around.
die niets met die familie te maken
that has nothing to do with that family
hebben, wildvreemden
to have, strangers
maar het rare is
but the strange thing is
and I think that's what Fabienne means with it
het ruimere veld en dat energetische
the broader field and that energetic
de
the
keren dat ik het gedaan heb
turn that I did it
and I am then asked to be the mother
te zijn of de broer
to be or the brother
of iets
or something
binnen die opstelling van het probleem
within that framework of the problem
hoeveel
how much
keer het mij gezegd is nadien
"Turn it around, I'm told it's afterwards."
maar wat jij allemaal gezegd hebt
but everything you have said
binnen
inside
als het probleem zich begint
when the problem starts
te bewegen en er worden
to move and to become
oplossingen gecreëerd
solutions created
de dingen die jij zegt
the things you say
is precies wat mijn broer gezegd heeft
is exactly what my brother said.
precies wat mijn moeder zou zeggen
exactly what my mother would say
en er komt ook iets
and something is also coming
and you don't need to be an actor for that
want juist niet eigenlijk
because I actually don't want to
er komt iets over je heen
Something is coming over you.
waardoor dat jij die dingen zegt
which is why you say those things
die de persoon die het probleem heeft
that the person who has the problem
exact nodig heeft
exactly needed
zodanig dat er
so that there
het is bijna alsof er in die
it's almost as if there is in that
ruimte
space
je kunt dat niet zien natuurlijk
you can't see that, of course
but that everything starts to flow there
en te bewegen waardoor
and to move which
een probleem opgelost geraakt
a problem is solved
en ik heb het zelf als vraagsteller
and I have it myself as the questioner
met een zwaar probleem in mijn familie
with a serious problem in my family
rond
round
de moeder-dochter relatie
the mother-daughter relationship
en eigenlijk een heleboel zaken
and actually a whole lot of things
die in de familie daardoor
that in the family because of that
helemaal scheef gegroeid waren
had grown completely crooked
heb ik dat gedaan
Did I do that?
bij jou en bij Jan denk ik
I think of you and Jan.
en dat
and that
die sessie kan, vandaar dat we nu
that session can, that's why we are now
een demonstratie gaan doen
to hold a demonstration
because you never know how long such a session can last
dat kan 20 minuten zijn
that can be 20 minutes
but that could also be 3 hours, so to speak
tot het zich
until it becomes
ja, opgelost heeft
Yes, it has been resolved.
en bij mij, wij hebben dat gedaan
and with me, we did that
ik heb toen denk ik 3 dagen
I think I had 3 days then.
geblekt, niet normaal
bleached, not normal
en het ongelooflijk
and the incredible
is, zonder dat ik daar
is, without me having to
ooit tegen mijn familie iets
ever against my family something
said, because they don’t know that
they don't know that, and that's not important either
is
is
maar ik heb indien die hele situatie
but I have if that whole situation
uitgeklaard, zonder woorden
explained, without words
is het vanzelf
Is it automatic?
opgelost geraakt
resolved
en dat is niet vanzelf natuurlijk
and that doesn't happen on its own, of course
dat is omdat jij
that is because you
een andere energie hebt gekregen
have gained a different energy
onbewust iets anders uitdraagt
unconsciously conveys something else
en dat heeft
and that has
dat is
that is
zo bijzonder
so special
wat dat doet
what that does
and I could think in the beginning that I
joh, het zal wel zeker
sure it will be
but I have experienced it a number of times now
en bij mezelf in
and with myself in
heel, echt een kernprobleem
very, truly a core issue
wat veranderd is
what has changed is
waardoor ik denk, iedereen moet dit
which makes me think, everyone should try this
kennen, die met trauma's zit
know someone who has trauma
met jeugdtrauma's, met grote
with childhood traumas, with great
trauma's, dit kan
traumas, this can
werken, voilà
to work, there you go
And indeed, you already have a few things there.
gezegd, die ik wat verder ga
said, that I will go a little further
uittypen, want een van de
typing out, because one of the
zeer belangrijke zaken
very important matters
and if you should remember just one thing from my
presentatie, dan zou ik dromen dat het
presentation, then I would dream that it
iets zou zijn, dat is
something would be, that is
presenteren
presenting
niet is een rol spelen
not playing a role
en ik heb niks tegen
and I have nothing against
ik vind het wel spijtig
I find it quite disappointing.
grote acteur, mooie man
great actor, handsome man
dus ik heb absoluut niks tegen hem
so I have absolutely nothing against him
It is because it is a beautiful one that I wanted to show it.
maar het is niet
but it is not
een rol spelen, dat is echt
to play a role, that is really
bijzonder belangrijk
particularly important
waarom? het gaat het om
Why? It's about.
ons bloot
our naked
transparant en bloot
transparent and bare
over te geven aan het veld
to surrender to the field
en te bewegen of te spreken
and to move or to speak
ik ben uitsluitend
I am exclusively.
geïnspireerd door dat veld
inspired by that field
wanneer iemand in het veld
when someone in the field
stapt met zijn mentaal
steps with his mental
part, because he says I know how that
this needs to be resolved and I will here the
rol spelen van de vader, de moeder
playing the role of the father, the mother
gelijk, en ik ga dat zo doen
Right, and I will do that.
dan vervormt hij dat
then it distorts it
veld, hij
field, he
verstoort de totale situatie
disturbs the overall situation
it's a bit difficult to put into words, but it is
zeer tastbaar
very tangible
voelbaar op dat moment
tangible at that moment
en dat wordt voor de andere deelnemers
and that will be for the other participants
bijzonder pijnlijk
particularly painful
so it's not about playing a role
zoals Matthias Schoenaert
like Matthias Schoenaerts
hoe onschuldiger
how more innocent
hoe onwetender men in het veld
how more ignorant people in the field
stapt, hoe beter
steps, the better
en het totaal vertrouwen in de
and the total trust in the
informatie die uit het veld voortvloeit
information that emerges from the field
ook al begrijpt men het niet
even if one does not understand it
met ons mentaal op dat moment
with our mind at that moment
is de meest belangrijke zaak
is the most important matter
eigenlijk, opnieuw haak je
actually, you hook again
dicht, maar mensen
close, but people
THIS IS IN CAPITAL LETTERS AND BOLD WRITING
dus
so
onze vrijwilliger plaatst dan zijn
our volunteer then places his
representanten in het veld
representatives in the field
at the place that was in front of him at that moment
juist lijkt, opnieuw, zonder
just seems, again, without
na te denken, gewoon spontaan
after thinking, just spontaneously
en meestal is die
and usually that is
opstelling al rijk aan informatie
setup already rich in information
ik heb het zo zelf
I have it like that myself.
meegemaakt, ik was een representant
experienced, I was a representative
en ik kon een andere representant
and I could get another representative
niet bekijken, dat was gewoon
don't look at it, that was just
onmogelijk, ik vluchtte
impossible, I fled
I couldn't keep that person in my sight.
veld behouden, dat was niet mogelijk
maintaining the field, that was not possible
terwijl ik wachtte hiervoor niet
while I waited for this not
toen dat we nog bezig
when we were still busy
voor de sessie eigenlijk
before the session actually
we were still engaged in a very pleasant conversation.
over van alles en nog wat
about everything and anything
but from the moment we were representatives
kon ik die persoon niet meer
I could no longer remember that person.
aankijken
to look at
de representanten gaan vanaf dan
the representatives will start from then
voelen wat het werkelijk familielid
feel what the true family member
niet kon voelen
could not feel
laat staan uitdrukken
let alone express
en er gaan een aantal
and there are a number of
er gaat een aantal informatie uit
a number of information is being released
voortvloeien
to result from
men zou eigenlijk kunnen, men kan zeggen
one could actually say, one can say
dat je hier op zielsniveau werkt
that you are working here on a soul level
dat wil zeggen
that is to say
een authenticiteitsniveau
an authenticity level
waar men niet kan liegen
where one cannot lie
nog maskers dragen, dat is totaal onmogelijk
Still wearing masks, that is totally impossible.
in de subtiele
in the subtle
wereld trouwens
world by the way
gebeurt er een heleboel
a lot is happening
informatieuitwisseling
information exchange
onder ons, zonder dat we daarvan
among us, without us realizing it
being aware, but that is also in daily life
leven al zo
living like this
sure that you all have experienced it at least once
dat wanneer een nieuwe persoon
that when a new person
geïntroduceerd wordt
is introduced
ofwel een elan
or an elk
positief elan naar dat persoon voelt
positive momentum towards that person feels
ofwel eerder oeh, beetje achteruit
or rather, ooh, a bit backwards
en hetzelfde voor iemand anders
and the same for someone else
ten opzichte van jullie bijvoorbeeld
in relation to you, for example
those are things that, yes where does that come from
I don't know that person, I never have.
mee gesproken, maar toch is het zo
I've spoken about it, but still it is so.
dus dat zijn allemaal informaties
so those are all pieces of information
die in de subtiele wereld
that in the subtle world
doorstromen
stream through
en die in zulk veld
and those in such a field
alleen maar exponentieel
only exponentially
zullen gebeuren eigenlijk
will actually happen
dat dit werk mogelijk is
that this work is possible
tijdens zulk werk
during such work
kan het zijn dat allerlei
Could it be that all sorts of
emoties zich manifesteren
emotions manifesting
those locked up in that stone in the shoe
bij wijze van spreken
figuratively speaking
die de vraagsteller dikwijls
that the questioner often
vergeten was
forgotten was
omdat er dikwijls een doek gelegd wordt
because a cloth is often laid down
op moeilijke herinneringen
on difficult memories
emoties die nog de vraagsteller
emotions that still the questioner
nog de representante
still the representative
nog de therapeut dikwijls
still the therapist often
niet begrijpt op het moment zelf
doesn't understand at the moment itself
maar dat maakt ook niet uit
but that doesn't matter either
zoals Els zei
as Els said
that absolutely does not hinder the work in the field
in tegenstelling tot
in contrast to
in andere therapieën
in other therapies
Aren't we also going to look for that mental explanation?
op dat moment
at that moment
misschien komt dat achteraf en misschien niet
maybe it will happen later and maybe it won't
maar dat belet het resultaat
but that prevents the result
absoluut niet
absolutely not
het kan ook zijn
it could also be
dat er allerlei woorden
that there are all sorts of words
uitgesproken worden
to be expressed
who were also stuck in time
dat er soms
that there are sometimes
zonder eerst bewuste reden
without first conscious reason
moet geweend worden
must be wept
of gelachen soms
or laughed sometimes
dat er soms lange stilte
that there are sometimes long silences
momenten zijn
moments are
waar de vraagsteller
where the questioner
die zijn werk doet
who is doing his work
even ergens anders is
even somewhere else is
ja wat is dat ergens anders
yes, what is that somewhere else
dat ergens anders is
that is somewhere else
dat breder bewustzijn veld
that broader consciousness field
waar hij geleidelijk aan
where he gradually
in terecht komt
ends up in
and there can therefore as I said
nieuwe bewustwordingen
new awarenesses
voortvloeien
to ensue
we kunnen misschien zien
we might be able to see
dat we bepaalde zaken
that we certain matters
in onze ervaring misschien verkeerd
in our experience maybe wrong
aan mekaar gekoppeld hadden
had connected to each other
that is kind of the example of Nels
toen ze als kind
when she was a child
buiten huis gezet werd
was put outside
en dacht dat
and thought that
ik ben het niet waard enzovoort
I am not worth it, and so on.
ik had hier een ander voorbeeld klaargemaakt
I had prepared another example here.
dat is eigenlijk een gruwelijk voorbeeld
that is actually a horrific example
maar spijtig genoeg het bestaat
but unfortunately it exists
perhaps you have heard about those children
die destijds in die
that at the time in that
afgrijzelijke weeshuizen
horrible orphanages
geplaatst werden
were placed
waar niemand tijd had om
where no one had time to
to take care of them in a tailored way
er zijn studies geweest
there have been studies
die getoond hebben dat die kinderen
who have shown that those children
na verloop van tijd
over time
niet meer wenen
no more crying
wanneer ze voeding nodig hebben
when they need food
of zorg nodig hebben
or need care
het is de moeite niet
it's not worth it
er komt toch niemand
No one is coming anyway.
en in een baby hoofd
and in a baby head
of een andere manier
or another way
kan dat gekoppeld gaan met
can that be linked with
op het emotioneel vlak
on an emotional level
met het gevoel van
with the feeling of
ik ben het niet waard ook niet
I am not worth it either.
ik verdien het niet
I don't deserve it.
en het kan gaan tot
and it can go up to
verdien ik eigenlijk om te leven
Do I actually deserve to live?
het is afschuwelijk
it is horrible
maar spijtig genoeg bestaat dat soort ding
but unfortunately that kind of thing exists
en nodeloos te zeggen
and needless to say
dat wanneer zoiets kan losgekoppeld worden
that when something like that can be disconnected
en op een andere manier
and in another way
in onze ervaring
in our experience
in onze gevoelens kan georganiseerd worden
In our feelings can be organized.
zal ons leven veranderen uiteraard
will obviously change our lives
het kan ook zijn
it can also be
in dit uitgebreider bewust zijn
in this expanded awareness
dat er bevroren schrikken
that there are frozen terrors
kunnen
can
hoe zou ik zeggen
how would I say
dat men er opnieuw door kan
that one can go through it again
door die bevroren schrikken
startled by that frozen
en
and
het anders in het concreet leven
it is different in concrete life
organiseren nadien
organize afterwards
ook een persoonlijk voorbeeld
also a personal example
ik had een dame
I had a lady.
een vraagsteller dus
a questioner then
dame van een 35 tal jaar
lady of about 35 years old
die niet in een kleerwinkel
that is not in a clothing store
durfde stappen
dared to take steps
dat is nogal zelden onder ons vrouwen
that is quite rare among us women
maar ja zij zat ermee
but yes, she was stuck with it
dus die moest altijd op internet bestellen
so she always had to order online
en gelukkig bestaat internet ondertussen
And luckily, the internet exists in the meantime.
of ze moest van een vriendin
if she had to from a friend
afkopen of dergelijke dingen meer
buying off or similar things more
but she never had the pleasure of stepping into a store
to be able to see the true color once
een keer de stof te tasten enzovoort
to touch the fabric once, and so on
en haar kleed een keer te passen
and to try on her dress once
dat bestond bij haar niet
that did not exist for her
dus dat was een grote frustratie
so that was a big frustration
we hebben daar dus een opstelling rondgekomen
So we have come up with a setup around that.
in een groep
in a group
en oké
and okay
de opstelling is gedaan
the setup is done
de maand nadien komt ze terug
The following month, she comes back.
en het raakt mij eigenlijk nog
and it still affects me actually
als ik denk aan hoe ze uitstraalde
when I think about how she radiated
hoe haar gezicht
how her face
totaal veranderd was
totally changed was
want voor de eerste keer
because for the first time
was ze in een winkel gestapt
had she stepped into a store
and she had only gone to buy a rug herself
kleed dat ze die een dag droeg
dress that she wore for a day
natuurlijk
of course
dus dat was bijzonder rakend
so that was particularly touching
naargelang wat nodig is
as needed
om
to
de problematiek vooruit te helpen
to advance the issues
gaat de therapeut
is the therapist going
een vraag stellen aan een of andere
to ask a question to someone
deelnemer
participant
Is he going to invite him to move?
zal hij misschien een
will he perhaps a
bijkomende representant in het
additional representative in the
veld vragen
field questions
en misschien op het einde zal hij
and maybe in the end he will
de vraagsteller zelf zijn eigen plaats
the questioner his own place
in het systeem laten innemen
have it entered into the system
soms, niet altijd
sometimes, not always
en het is ook het energieveld
and it is also the energy field
dat gaat aanduiden tot waar men
that will indicate to where one
voor deze sessie mag of moet gaan
for this session may or must go
om
about
de vraagsteller vooruit
the questioner ahead
te helpen
to help
laat ons even kijken hoe de systeemregels
let's take a look at how the system rules
zich in familieopstellingen
family constellations
vertalen
to translate
dus we hebben gezegd
so we said
er moet een evenwicht zijn
there must be a balance
tussen
between
geven en krijgen
give and receive
we hebben gezegd dat alles in balans
We said that everything is in balance.
moet zijn in een algemeen systeem
must be in a general system
en in familieopstellingen vertaalt dat
and in family constellations, that translates to
zich met er moet onder meer
must be among other things
een evenwicht zijn tussen
a balance between
geven en krijgen
giving and receiving
dat is natuurlijk een levende gids
that is of course a living guide
en dat beweegt constant
and that moves constantly
er is altijd een nieuw evenwicht gevonden
a new balance has always been found
wanneer het altijd dezelfde persoon is
when it's always the same person
die geeft
that gives
dat het nu materiële giften is
that it is now material gifts
of zorg en attentie
of care and attention
en de andere
and the other
die gewoon ontvangt
that simply receives
dan kan het zijn dat er
then it may be that there
een macht ontstaat van die
a power arises from that
gever over die ontvanger
giver regarding that recipient
en dat die ontvanger dan
and that the recipient then
in een soort van ondergeschikte toestand
in a kind of subordinate state
blijft en dit kan allerlei
remains and this can take various forms
gevoelens en emoties met zich meebrengen
bringing feelings and emotions with it
we hebben gezegd dat
we have said that
in elk systeem
in every system
elk element moet een plaats krijgen
Each element must have a place.
dat niemand mag uitgesloten worden
that no one should be excluded
dus indien men
so if one
in een relationeel ongemak met iemand
in a relational discomfort with someone
is kan het nuttig zijn
it can be useful
om zich de vraag te stellen
to ask oneself the question
geef ik die persoon een plaats
I give that person a place.
in ons gemeenschappelijk systeem
in our common system
of sta ik op mijn juiste plaats
or am I in my right place
in het systeem
in the system
waartoe wij beide behoren
to which we both belong
dat kunnen nuttige vragen zijn
that can be useful questions
om te exploreren op dat moment
to explore at that moment
men mag ook niets
one must not do anything either
uitsluiten en dit is belangrijk
exclude and this is important
voor ons thema van vandaag
for our theme of today
want een ziekte is ook iets
because an illness is also something
dat in ons systeem
that in our system
een plaats moet krijgen
must have a place
dus
so
in plaats van de ziekte
instead of the disease
proberen weg te schuiven, te negeren
trying to shove away, to ignore
not wanting to hear about it as much as possible
gaat men veel sneller
goes much faster
tot een resolutie komen
to come to a resolution
een nieuw evenwicht dus
a new balance therefore
in ons leven met die ziekte
in our life with that illness
wanneer men die ziekte
when one has that illness
een plaats geeft
gives a place
dus haar niet negeert
so don't ignore her
en als het ware
and as it were
met haar gaan praten
talking to her
het is te zeggen
that is to say
wat kan die ziekte mij leren
What can that illness teach me?
over mijn levensstijl bijvoorbeeld
about my lifestyle for example
of mijn emotionele
of my emotional
manier van werken
way of working
bijvoorbeeld
for example
en wat kan ik daaruit leren
And what can I learn from that?
om beter te genezen
to heal better
en naar de toekomst toe
and towards the future
een aantal dingen te vermijden
a number of things to avoid
dus een ziekte krijgt ook een plaats
so a disease also gets a place
en we hebben gezegd
and we have said
niet alleen heeft alles een plaats nodig
not only does everything need a place
maar het moet de juiste plaats zijn
but it has to be the right place
voor iedereen
for everyone
er is bijvoorbeeld een hiërarchie
for example, there is a hierarchy
tussen ouders en kinderen
between parents and children
in de opstellingaanpak
in the positioning approach
daar kom ik straks op terug
I'll come back to that later.
maar ik neem hier het voorbeeld
but I take the example here
de vader sterft
the father dies
en de oudste zoon neemt de verantwoordelijkheden
and the oldest son takes on the responsibilities
van zijn vader op zich
from his father in itself
in relation to the rest of the family
bijvoorbeeld moeder, broers en zussen
for example mother, brothers and sisters
het kan zijn
it may be
het is niet altijd het geval
it is not always the case
maar het kan zijn
but it may be
dat dit een onevenwicht creëert
that this creates an imbalance
omdat die zoon potentieel ook een macht
because that son potentially also has power
op zijn moeder
on his mother
zou krijgen
would get
en hij zal uiteraard nooit
and he will of course never
de partner van zijn moeder worden
to become the partner of his mother
ondanks het feit dat hij
despite the fact that he
de verantwoordelijkheden van zijn vader heeft overgenomen
has taken over his father's responsibilities
dus dat kan ook
so that can also be done
soms troebelheden in een relatie
sometimes murkiness in a relationship
met zich meebrengen
to bring with it
niet altijd gelukkiglijk
not always happily
we hebben gesproken
we have talked
van hiërarchie
of hierarchy
in de familieopstelling
in the family constellation
is de hiërarchie als volgt
Is the hierarchy as follows?
eerst de bovenlaag is
first the top layer is
wij met onze partner
we with our partner
onze levenspartner
our life partner
dan onze kinderen
than our children
dan onze ouders
than our parents
dan onze grootouders
than our grandparents
dat is een heel groot systeem
that is a very large system
in mekaar
in each other
ik ga hier ook een voorbeeld geven
I will also give an example here.
van soms moeilijke situaties
from sometimes difficult situations
een koppelscheid
a couple's separation
en laat ons zeggen de vrouw
and let's say the woman
stapt in een andere relatie
enters into another relationship
met een andere man
with another man
dus haar nieuwe bovenlaag
so her new top layer
is zij met die nieuwe partner
is she with that new partner
maar haar kinderen
but her children
van haar eerste huwelijk
from her first marriage
die maken deel uit
that are part of
van het oorspronkelijk systeem
from the original system
dus voor hen, voor die kinderen
so for them, for those children
zitten ze met twee systemen
are they using two systems
en dat kan soms onevenwicht
and that can sometimes cause imbalance
met zich meebrengen
bring with it
het kan ook zijn dat hun vader
it could also be that their father
ondertussen ook met een andere dame
meanwhile also with another lady
in een relatie zit
in a relationship
so those children are now dealing with three systems
that doesn't always make it easy for them
al naargelang de concrete toestand
depending on the concrete situation
het is dus van belang
it is therefore important
dat de moeder
that the mother
of de vader
or the father
maar ik trek mijn voorbeeld verder
but I take my example further
dat de moeder haar ex-partner
that the mother her ex-partner
niet totaal uitsluit
does not totally exclude
door depreciatie
through depreciation
bezware depreciatie bijvoorbeeld
burdensome depreciation for example
because then there is a chance that the children
zich tegen haar gaan verzetten
to start opposing her
om hun eigen systeem
to their own system
trying to keep a bit of balance again
hun oorspronkelijk biologisch systeem
their original biological system
van moeder en vader
from mother and father
dat is een voorbeeld
that is an example
we hebben ook gezegd
we also said
dat het leven moet circuleren
that life must circulate
in het systeem
in the system
en wat is leven
and what is life
eigenlijk
actually
het is een heilige beweging
it is a holy movement
een creatief en spiritueel
a creative and spiritual
geanimeerde beweging
animated movement
het is eigenlijk liefde
it is actually love
en het doel van een opstelling
and the purpose of a setup
is dus altijd
is therefore always
van de levensenergie
of the life energy
dus de liefdeenergie
so the love energy
achter de blokkades terug te vinden
to be found behind the barriers
en te laten heruitstralen
and to let it shine again
nu, hoe wordt zulke sessie
Now, how does such a session go?
afgesloten
closed
een familieopstelling wordt afgesloten
a family constellation is concluded
met iets formeel
with something formal
dat kan een kort ritueel zijn
that can be a short ritual
of dat kan een aantal symbolische woorden
or that can be a number of symbolic words
zijn die iedereen
are those everyone
zegt al naargelang
says depending on
wat de therapeut voorstelt
what the therapist suggests
waarom is dat belangrijk
why is that important
wel omdat het
well because it
we moeten onze representant
we need to our representative
role, and I don't like the word role
for the confusion that I mentioned earlier
maar ik heb er geen ander gevonden
but I haven't found another one
dus we moeten onze representantsituatie
so we need to address our representative situation
afgeven binnen dat veld
deliver within that field
vooraleer dat we terug naar huis gaan
before we go back home
waarom, ons eigen systeem
why, our own system
heeft ook gewerkt
has also worked
even though we are not aware of it at all
en ook al waren we geen
and even though we were not
vragende partij
requesting party
maar ons eigen systeem heeft daar ook
but our own system has that too
aan meegewerkt
contributed to
het gaat er dus om
so it’s about
ons los te koppelen van
to disconnect us from
die tijdelijke verstrengeling
that temporary intertwining
waarin we zaten
in which we were sitting
met het systeem van die
with the system of those
werkelijke vraagsteller in de opstelling
actual questioner in the setup
dus dat is wel van belang
so that is indeed important
een opstelling is dus
a setup is thus
een krachtig tool dat
a powerful tool that
ook enige tijd aan integratie vraagt
also takes some time for integration
dus het wordt altijd aangeraden
so it is always recommended
not to talk too much about it
van te laten komen wat komt
to let come what comes
zonder uitleg proberen te vinden
trying to find without explanation
want dan zit men weer al in ons mentaal gedeelte
Because then we are once again in our mental space.
en daar zit de oplossing niet
and there is not the solution
want anders zouden we het gevonden hebben
because otherwise we would have found it
zonder dit werk te moeten doen
without having to do this work
en dat is dus wat ik
and that is what I
zei met mijn voorbeeld
said with my example
ik heb daar niet over gesproken
I haven't talked about that.
en maanden later
and months later
heeft het zich
has it become
vanzelf uitgeklaard
naturally clarified
is het beginnen veranderen
is it beginning to change
subtiel, op een hele subtiele manier
subtle, in a very subtle way
en toch is er van alles veranderd
and yet everything has changed
en ik heb daar geen woorden
and I have no words for that
moeten voor gebruiken
must use for
het is gewoon gebeurd
it just happened
en dat is misschien
and that is perhaps
For some people, that might seem strange.
de subtiele velden en de subtiele energie
the subtle fields and the subtle energy
er is inderdaad veel meer
there is indeed a lot more
dan uw lichaam
than your body
je hebt uw intuïtie
you have your intuition
je hebt van alles dat gebeurt
you have everything that happens
zonder dat je dat eigenlijk kunt benoemen
without being able to actually name it
maar het is er wel
but it is there after all
nu, men ondergaat
now, but undergoes
invloeden en interacties
influences and interactions
niet alleen in onze familie
not only in our family
maar ook later op school
but also later at school
nog later in ons professioneel
even later in our professional
milieu bijvoorbeeld
environment for example
vandaar dat men spreekt niet alleen van
that's why people speak not only of
familieopstellingen maar ook van
family constellations but also of
systeemoplossingen
system solutions
het zijn allemaal systemen
they are all systems
men kan dus een student bijvoorbeeld opstellen
one can therefore draft a student, for example.
met een prof of een van zijn
with a professor or one of his
medematen of een
fellow members or a
professionele toestand tussen
professional condition between
baas en ondergeschikte
boss and subordinate
men kan ook verschillende
one can also be different

and so what I wanted to say is
de familie of systeem opstelling
the family or system constellation
is een unieke gelegenheid
is a unique opportunity
om al onze verborgen familieschema's
about all our hidden family trees
te onthullen
to reveal
en er ons vrij van te maken

een familieopstelling heeft een effect
a family constellation has an effect

I think it is therefore important that we

Janine says, welcome everyone, glad to be here and thank you for everything.
I understand Dutch, but it is difficult to speak it.
So today, I’m a bit curious, who has never heard of EFT?
Wie heeft het nog nooit gehoord?
Who has never heard of it?
Oké, bedankt.
Okay, thank you.
En wie heeft het gehoord?
And who has heard it?
Wie heeft het woord gehoord?
Who has heard the word?
Goed, veel mensen al.
Good, a lot of people already.
En wie heeft het geprobeerd?
And who has tried it?
Wie heeft er ervaring mee gehad?
Who has had experience with it?
Oké, geweldig.
Okay, great.
Veel mensen, geweldig.
Many people, great.
En hebben we hier EFT-prakticiërs?
And do we have EFT practitioners here?
Hebben we er een?
Do we have one?
Alright, can you stand up so the people can see who you are?
Misschien dan, bedankt.
Maybe then, thank you.
So this is, I don’t know about you, but it’s amazing that we have a Dutch EFT practitioner here.
Dus dat is geweldig.
So that is great.
Ik zal het afschrijven.
I will write it off.
So there is one person who has done EFT.

So, what will we do today in our limited time that we have together because I want to give

you as much value as I can so that you can learn as much as you can in this short amount
I value you as much as I can so that you can learn as much as you can in this short amount of time.

of time.
Yes, in a short time we will set an example, we will see what it is so that you all can...
really be able to go home with actually as much knowledge as possible about what EFT is and what you
er zelf mee kan doen.
can participate in it themselves.
Ja, thank you.
Yes, thank you.
And so what will we do?
And so what will we do?
First, I will give ten minutes a short explanation, a tiny bit of theory about what EFT is.
First, I will give a short explanation for ten minutes, a tiny bit of theory about what EFT is.
And then we will do a demonstration.
And then we will do a demonstration.

Because that's what it's all about at the end of the day, right?
So and then at the very end, I have a gift for you.

No, we will first have a bit of theory for ten minutes and then we will have a real demonstration.
do it in such a way that you can truly experience what it is.
And then, Janine also has a gift for you that you can sign up for.

online.
Then we will provide that link at the end.

Thank you.
So, what is actually EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques?
So, what is actually EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques?
When you go home today and people ask you, what is EFT?
When you go home today and people ask you, what is EFT?
How are you going to explain it?
How are you going to explain it?
And I will give you a few approaches.
And I will give you a few approaches.
How you can speak about it.
How you can talk about it.
Speak about it and explain it to people in an easy way by making a bridge of what they
Talk about it and explain it to people in a simple way by creating a bridge from what they already know.
know already and then linking it to a certain explanation of what EFT is.
know already and then linking it to a certain explanation of what EFT is.
Yes, so what EFT is, Janine will now explain it in such a way that when you're at home, you can actually...
kan zeggen.
can say.
Want dit is EFT.
Because this is EFT.
That was certain, I couldn't drink it.
Dat was heel kort.
That was very short.
Yes, I have time.
Yes, I have time.
Sorry.
Sorry.
I'm only taking the essence of it, I am so sorry, don't look at me.
Ik neem alleen de essentie ervan, het spijt me zo, kijk niet naar me.
Okay, fine.
Okay, fine.
So, the first bridge that we can make for people depending who is in front of you is, EFT is
So, the first bridge we can create for people, depending on who is in front of you, is EFT.
a relaxation technique.
a relaxation technique.
EFT is a relaxation technique that allows you to be quieter and feel safe, so you can think more clearly.
And who among us doesn't want to think more clearly when we have problems and ultimately even find solutions?
Yes, so EFT is actually a relaxation technique, so that you can calm down and think more clearly about what the problem is or to be able to deal with those problems and process them.
Goed, dank je.
Good, thank you.
And the second bridge we can make is if you have a person in your team who knows acupuncture.
Deze dagen kennen veel mensen acupunctuur.
These days, many people know acupuncture.
And so then a way to explain it, that is the second way to explain it.
EFT is een emotionele vorm van acupunctuur.
EFT is an emotional form of acupuncture.
We don't use knees, but instead we use our fingertips to tap different meridians in the body.
terwijl we ons in een specifieke manier tunen.
while we tune ourselves in a specific way.
Een specifieke oorlog, een specifieke situatie of een moeilijke persoon.
A specific war, a specific situation, or a difficult person.
Yes, so EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques, that is the translation in Dutch, can be used through the meridians that we all have in our bodies.
but that we don't necessarily know consciously, but you're actually tapping into that.
And I mean, it suits me to do it this way.
Ik kan daar eerlijk in zijn.
I can be honest about that.
But it is, and I can testify from my own experience, because I have been following you online for a while now.
that by tapping it and calming it, the trauma or the problem you have,
that that can actually sink into your brain, can sink into your body,
that you gain a lot of clarity from it and are actually freed from a problem.
Because for me it is personally about the release of all the pent-up issues in your body.
En dat doet EFT.
And that is what EFT does.
Yes, thank you.
Yes, thank you.
And then the last way you can talk to someone.
If the person sitting across from you knows neuroscience, then you can explain it in a way that EFT,
die kalmst de amygdala in je brein.
that calms the amygdala in your brain.
And it reduces the fight-flight stress response, making us more calm and peaceful.
Dus dit zijn vier manieren...
So these are four ways...
Ga je dat vertrekken?
Are you leaving that?
So the amygdala in the brain calms it.
And as I understand it, does that trigger the flight, fight, or freeze response?
Nee, fight-flight-or-freeze.
No, fight-flight-or-freeze.
Verlammen, ja.
Paralyze, yes.
Toch juist?
Isn't it true?
Ja, ja.
Yes, yes.
That sends that out, and through this technique, you can calm all of that down.
Yes.
Yes.
It's pretty close.
It's pretty close.
It's good.
It's good.
Zeven punten.
Seven points.
Ja.
Yes.
Zo.
So.
Now, the good news is, actually, we all do already EFT every day.
Now, the good news is, actually, we all already do EFT every day.
It's naturally built into our system.
And I will give you a couple of examples.
And I will give you a couple of examples.
For example, if we have a headache, then we say, oh, my head, I have such a headache.
For example, if we have a headache, then we say, oh, my head, I have such a headache.
Or, if we hear...
Or, if we hear...
bad news, we say, oh, no, is it true?
bad news, we say, oh no, is it true?
No.
No.
Like, we hold our hands to calm ourselves, to soothe ourselves.
Like, we hold our hands to calm ourselves, to soothe ourselves.
Or, if we have good news and we say, oh, or we are surprised.
Or, if we have good news and we say, oh, or we are surprised.
Oeps, that was my microphone.
Oops, that was my microphone.
I was surprised.
I was surprised.
Like, ooh, like this I will be more careful.
Like, ooh, like this I will be more careful.
Like, ooh.
Like, ooh.
And, okay.
And, okay.
And, so, that is then another way.
And, so, that is then another way.
Or, some people, they wring their hands because they, ooh, so nervous.
Or, some people, they wring their hands because they, oh, are so nervous.
Or, if you sometimes see people bite their nails, that's also to self-calm and self-soothe
Or, if you sometimes see people biting their nails, that's also to self-calm and self-soothe.
their body.
hun lichaam.
Or, some people that do like this.
Or, some people who do like this.
Really?
Really?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
Like, things like that.
Like, things like that.
Yes.
Yes.
It's...
It's...
Sorry, Janine, I was sitting like this all the time.
Sorry, Janine, I was sitting like this the whole time.
So, I was like, oh, my God.
Dus ik dacht echt, oh mijn God.
See?
See?
But I will translate, I will translate.
Maar ik zal vertalen, ik zal vertalen.
Now I have to translate all her things.
Now I have to translate all her stuff.
But so, you're actually doing it unconsciously on your own.
Do you touch on certain points in certain situations?
If you're nervous, you'll bite your nails here.
Of als je schrikt van iets.
Or if you get scared by something.
Or when you grab something by the heart.
Actually, you already touch on those points to calm yourself down.
Yes, thank you.
Yes, thank you.
So, therefore, also what I would like to say in addition to that, EFT is very easy to
So, therefore, also what I would like to say in addition to that, EFT is very easy to
learn, easy to do.
learn, easy to do.
It takes only a few minutes to learn, as we will see in a few minutes.
It takes only a few minutes to learn, as we will see in a few minutes.
And it...
And it...
It has lasting results and it has no side effects.
It has lasting results and it has no side effects.
So, that is, that is one of the amazing...
So, that is, that is one of the amazing...
What?
What?
Sorry, sorry.
Sorry, sorry.
We need a little humor.
We need a little humor.
It has the side effect of becoming funny again in my life.
It has the side effect of becoming funny again in my life.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, ja.
Yeah, that's true.
Yeah, dat klopt.
That was the side effect.
That was the side effect.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
About negative side effects, I meant, right?
About negative side effects, I meant, right?
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
So, it is actually, and that is also true, it is fast, it is easy to learn and it has
So, it is actually, and that is also true, it is fast, it is easy to learn and it has
a really long lasting effect.
a really long-lasting effect.
And I am the living proof of that, because I have been able to find my humor back, which
And I am the living proof of that, because I have been able to find my humor back, which
I had lost for a long time in myself.
I had lost myself for a long time.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oké, I'll keep an eye on you now.
Okay, I'll keep an eye on you now.
Sorry, I will keep my mouth shut.
Sorry, I will keep my mouth shut.
That usually doesn't help.
That usually doesn't help.
No, I know.
No, I know.
Oké.
Okay.
So, are you ready?
So, are you ready?
So now, we will go together through the tapping points, they're there on the screen.
So now, we will go together through the tapping points, they're there on the screen.
And we will do them one time together, so that you feel comfortable with it.
And we will do them together once, so that you feel comfortable with it.
And then we will do a practical demonstration.
And then we will do a practical demonstration.
And then the wonderful lady there, you would like to come, hey?

Yeah.
Yeah.
And our tapping scripts, by the way.

The script is for how to tap and do EFT for difficult people.
Oké.
Okay.
So, maybe, I don't know how about you, but maybe...
So, maybe, I don't know about you, but maybe...
Why are you looking at me?
Why are you looking at me?
Yeah, just to give an example.
Yeah, just to give an example.
Thank you!
Thank you!
So, let's get started.
So, laten we beginnen.
So, the first tapping point is where my hand lays on the table there, the karate chop.
So, the first tapping point is where my hand rests on the table there, the karate chop.
Side of the hand with three or four fingers.
Side of the hand with three or four fingers.
You can choose.
You can choose.
And you can use one hand, or the other hand, or you can switch.
And you can use one hand, or the other hand, or you can switch.
And you don't need to use the same hand that I'm using.
And you don't need to use the same hand that I'm using.
Because EFT is a very forgiving process.
Because EFT is a very forgiving process.
And you even don't have to do it perfectly in order for it to work.
And you don't even have to do it perfectly for it to work.
Ja.
Yes.
But actually, this is the first tapping point actually.
And it doesn't have to be perfect, because that works just as well.
You can switch your hands; it doesn't matter if one hand gets tired.
Because that is the first point you can tap into.
Ja.
Yes.
The karate chop is actually the warm-up point to get the body ready to respond.
Ja.
Yes.
The karate chop is actually the warm-up point to get the body open to respond.
Ja.
Yes.
The warm-up point to open the body to respond.
There are more explanatory terms, but that is the basics.
Then we go to the beginning of the section.
Dit is het begin van het onderdeel.
This is the beginning of the section.
You can see it as a strange little box here, can't you?
Het begin van het onderdeel.
The beginning of the section.
En je maakt een lichte afvang.
And you make a slight catch.
Niet te hard.
Not too loud.
Niet te lichaam.
Not too body.
Gewoon precies zoals je zich graag voelt.
Just exactly how you like to feel.
The next stopping point is the side of the eye, on the bean part, on the heart part.
And well, that girl over there, she does two sides.
Excellente, je kunt ook twee zijkanten doen.
Excellent, you can also do two sides.
Ik doe alleen één zijkant, omdat ik moet praten.
I only do one side because I have to talk.
The next stopping point is in sight, also on the bean part, here in the middle.
En je kunt meerdere vingers gebruiken.
And you can use multiple fingers.
The next stopping point is right under the nose, just in the middle.
Goed, heel goed, excellent.
Good, very good, excellent.
The following is the size and the belly.
Hier zijn ze.
Here they are.
Hier in het midden, in deze streep.
Here in the middle, in this stripe.
Goed.
Good.
The next stopping point is the belly of the eye.
And here it is, this top part of the eye, the belly of the eye, the belly of the eye.
Wat is dat in Flemish?
What is that in Flemish?
De buik van het oog.
The belly of the eye.
De sleutelbeen.
The collarbone.
Dank je.
Thank you.
Die dikke buik hier, toch?
That big belly here, right?
En dan hebben we hier de sternum.
And then we have the sternum here.
Dus we stappen onder die dikke buik.
So we step under that big belly.
Zoals rechts.
Like on the right.
Hier is een zachte indentatie.
Here is a soft indentation.
Ja.
Yes.
Goed.
Good.
Ja.
Yes.
Heel goed.
Very good.
Net onder het sleutelbeen.
Just below the collarbone.
Een beetje naar beneden.
A little bit down.
Net onder het sleutelbeen.
Just below the collarbone.
Ja.
Yes.
Onder.
Under.
Ja.
Yes.
Goed.
Good.
The next stopping point is under the nose, where the line of the eye is, ladies and gentlemen.
Dus we moeten allemaal inclusief zijn, toch?
So we all need to be inclusive, right?
Ja.
Yes.
Dus hier.
So here.
And then the next stopping point is the chest point, and that actually comes from the nose downwards,
waar de streep van het oog is.
where the line of the eye is.
En daar is de stoppingspunt.
And there is the stopping point.
For the gentlemen, four fingers down from the nose.
Dus ja.
So yes.
And sometimes, women in my workshops, they are chosen.
Ze zijn gekozen.
They have been elected.
Ja.
Yes.
Het heet een breinbalanser.
It's called a brain balancer.
We locate the left brain, the right brain, and the hindbrain.
You can also do it the way you feel is right.
Ik zal het een beetje uitbalanceren.
I will balance it out a bit.
Het was ver.
It was far.
De meeste dingen zijn wel duidelijk.
Most things are pretty clear.
The last point is to balance the brain, to bring it into balance.
Je gaat een beetje rond.
You're going around a bit.
Not just tapping at that point, but into the ground.
Voor de rest is het heel duidelijk.
For the rest, it is very clear.
Je tikt hier.
You're typing here.
You tap on the side of your glasses.
Je tikt op je cheekbones.
You tap on your cheekbones.
Hier.
Here.
Kaakbomen.
Jawbones.
Hier onder je neus.
Here under your nose.
Onder je mond ga je.
Under your breath you go.
Je gaat onder het sleutelbeen.
You go under the collarbone.
And there on the sides, for the men on the side of a little marcel.
En dan hieronder.
And then below.
Onder waar de tepels...
Under where the nipples...
Used to be.
Used to be.
In case, right?
In case, right?
Ik kan getuigen dat het effectief werkt.
I can testify that it works effectively.
I have been working with Janine for a while.
En hoeveel heil mij dit heeft gebracht.
And how much good this has brought me.
Alhoewel ik in eerste instantie dacht...
Although I initially thought...
Wat voor iets raars.
What a strange thing.
And I'm not talking about Janine.
Ik heb het over de techniek.
I'm talking about the technique.
Maar goed.
But well.
Is er iets wat je wilt toevoegen?
Is there anything you would like to add?
Ja.
Yes.
Ik zou graag willen zeggen.
I would like to say.
In de Dumb For You tapping scripts.
In the Dumb For You tapping scripts.
De twee scripts die je gratis krijgt.
The two scripts that you get for free.
Als mijn gift voor jou.
As my gift for you.
One of them is about how to deal with difficult people.
Dus daarom kun je gewoon.
So that's why you can just.
Het is allemaal voor jou.
It's all for you.
So this was it, what I said here.
Niet precies dit, maar...
Not exactly this, but...
zoiets van dit.
Something like this.
En om het er uit te zetten...
And to get it out there...
en de andere is over het lichaam.
and the other is about the body.
Dus dat is de link.
So that is the link.
EFT for life is mijn website.
EFT for life is my website.
En dan slash forward slash EFT-else.
And then slash forward slash EFT-else.
Ik maakte het heel simpel.
I made it very simple.
Heel erg bedankt.
Thank you very much.
En bedankt voor het geweldig sporten.
And thank you for the great sports.
Dank je, Janine.
Thank you, Janine.
Heel erg bedankt.
Thank you very much.
We zijn aan de laatste persoon toegekomen.
We have reached the last person.
I know it's a bit of a long session,
but I think the very last one is hard to resist
and that it is very interesting information about our nervous system.
And above all, there are now a few people who want to know more about that,
over chronische ziekten.
about chronic diseases.
And there are indeed a few people who talk about CFS and fibromyalgia.
en meer te weten willen komen.
and want to learn more.
En daarvoor vraag ik, last but not least,
And for that, I ask, last but not least,
Chris van Kerkhoven op het podium.
Chris van Kerkhoven on stage.
Dr. Chris van Kerkhoven.
Dr. Chris van Kerkhoven.
Goedenavond.
Good evening.
Ladies and gentlemen, in connection with that previous matter,
I have learned something from someone who is above.
Als het werkt, is het waar.
If it works, it is true.
En de rest is commentaar.
And the rest is commentary.
Zwaar.
Heavy.
If you ask me to hold my arm next to me,
That is something that does not take me much effort.
Maybe that tapping lasts a little longer than usual,
maar normaal, ik voel dat niet.
but normally, I don't feel that.
But let me do that for an hour, or a day, or a week.
And you can imagine that there is a lot of fatigue in that arm,
that he might even start to hurt.
Yet, when I go to the doctor,
en ik laat me vermoeiden,
and I let myself get tired,
and they can take from my arm, then they find nothing.
And I have my blood taken, and they find nothing.
And the doctor can then say, yes, I checked everything.
Je bent gezond, proficiat, je hebt niks.
You are healthy, congratulations, you have nothing.
En dan ga ik naar huis.
And then I am going home.
Perhaps also with the advice to see the psychologist for a moment.
And then I think, yes, but my arm really does hurt.
En ik voel wel echt een vermoeidheid.
And I really do feel a fatigue.
And that is really not in my head.
Die is niet psychisch, die is lichamelijk.
That's not psychological, that's physical.
Ik voel die echt.
I really feel that.
And yet the doctor says, yes, I find nothing.
I think, when we talk about acute and chronic illness,
Wenseltop heeft het daar ook over gehad,
Wenseltop also talked about it there.
if I have a muscle tear in my arm, then I go to the scanner,
en dan vinden ze het probleem.
and then they find the problem.
En dan kunnen ze dat oplossen.
And then they can solve that.
But in the other case, what I am just explaining,
is dat chronisch.
is that chronic.
And in chronic illness, we have very little in our medicine,
heel weinig echte oplossingen.
very few real solutions.
Als je...
If you...
Of course, this is not the story of people who are chronically ill.
But what happens here in my arm is that all...
The muscles in my arm are a little bit tense,
en zij blijven continu aangespannen.
and they remain continuously tense.
And actually, that's something that happens throughout our entire body,
with all our muscles, at the moment we are under stress.
Als ons systeem in stress komt,
If our system comes under stress,
gebeuren er een aantal zaken hormonaal,
a number of hormonal things happen,
qua zenuwstelsel, zoals ons stresszenuwstelsel activeert.
in terms of the nervous system, such as activating our stress nervous system.
Je hebt de vlucht-, vecht- en freeze-response.
You have the flight, fight, and freeze response.
I think, if we flee and fight, that there isn't really much going on.
Because then we are really moving, then we are getting things done.
But at the moment we freeze, like with that arm,
dan blijven de spieren...
then the muscles will remain...
Or our system remains a bit stuck in the stress system.
And the chronic tension of the muscles throughout my entire body,
you can compare a bit with what I demonstrated with my arm,
maar lang globaal.
but long globally.
Dat gaat klachten geven van hoofdpijn bijvoorbeeld,
That will cause complaints of headaches, for example,
neklast, schouderpijn, ruglast, ook maag-darmproblemen enzovoorts.
neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain, as well as gastrointestinal issues, etc.
En het is niet alleen de spieren,
And it is not just the muscles,
I have now spoken about this example with the muscles,
but actually at the moment our stress system activates,
verandert er ook iets hormonaal.
Does anything hormonal change as well?
Onze kleine hersenen worden actief, ons reptiele brein, onze amygdala,
Our cerebellum becomes active, our reptilian brain, our amygdala,
zoals je net hebt gehoord.
as you just heard.
And that ensures that actually everything our body does,
is om te overleven.
is to survive.
And if we live and keep our human brain active,
then we can be very creative and experience humor
and go through life relaxed, thinking very well and remembering things.
And then we have focus and then we are smart.
But at the moment my reptilian brain activates,
wordt dat eigenlijk uitgeschakeld.
Is that actually being disabled?
Then it is only important for my body to survive.
And then I become overly sensitive to stimuli, so I can see very well.
You can somewhat compare it to standing face to face with a bull in a meadow.
Then your body will do everything to ensure you get away safely.
So all my blood and my oxygen are directed to my muscular system,
zodat ik heel snel kan lopen.
so that I can run very quickly.
And my senses, so that I am very oversensitive.
Ik hoor meer en meer mensen zeggen...
I hear more and more people saying...
There are people who speak of hypersensitivity or sensitivity.
People are hypersensitive to sound, stimuli, and sight.
And actually, that points to the fact that my stress system has been activated.
My system is active to be able to survive,
so that I can quickly see where there is an exit and where I can escape.
And actually, that system is made to survive.
That is a fantastic system, it works perfectly.
Alleen als dat chronisch geactiveerd wordt,
Only when that is chronically activated,
dan kom ik echt in de problemen.
Then I'll really be in trouble.
If your muscles are always a little bit tense,
then it gives that, while I am active and in motion,
In itself, still not many or fewer problems than when I am quiet.
At the moment I remain still, all those muscles are tense.
At the moment I move, when I do my arm like this,
then the muscles that oppose that movement will relax reflexively,
zodat ik die beweging kan maken.
so that I can make that movement.
But the moment I lie still,
there are no reflex relaxations of my muscles
en zijn alle spieren aangespannen.
and all the muscles are tense.
That leads to a story of people who say
that when they get up, they are lying exactly under a tram or a truck.
Maar ik hoor vrij dikwijls die gelijkenissen.
But I hear those similarities quite often.
All my muscles ache and I am so tired and exhausted.
Hoe komt dat toch?
How come that is?
And when I try to explain that the stress system is activated,
Then I get a response of no, my stress system is not activated at all.
Vroeger was mijn stresssysteem geactiveerd.
In the past, my stress system was activated.
I had a job and I took care of my sick mother.
Ik had nog dit en dat. Al die zaken had ik te doen.
I still had this and that. I had to take care of all those things.
Maar nu doe ik niks meer. Ik kan niks meer.
But now I do nothing anymore. I can do nothing anymore.
I am lying in my bed. I am going from my bed to my chair.
Ik heb echt helemaal geen stress.
I really have no stress at all.
We gaan daar even over spreken.
We will talk about that for a moment.
Ik denk dat wij stress moeten herdefiniëren.
I think we need to redefine stress.
I prefer to define stress as the moment your head
something different than what your heart or your soul wants.
And we just talked about it with one of the, I think the first speaker, Jan,
He said about the importance of being present in the now, of mindfulness.
Our mind is very often occupied with the past and the future.
But our soul, our heart, our body can only be present here and now.
And at the moment that we bring those two back together in the past.
to be able to connect and feel, what does my soul actually want?
Wat wil mijn hart op dit moment? En we kunnen dat doen.
What does my heart want at this moment? And we can do that.
Then that stress can be released or resolved.
And when that stress is resolved, my self-healing ability can
terug activeren.
reactivate.
Ons stresssysteem, geleerde woorden het orthosympathische zenuwstelsel,
Our stress system, learned terms the sympathetic nervous system,
staat tegenover het ontspanningssysteem, het parasympathische zenuwstelsel.
is opposed to the relaxation system, the parasympathetic nervous system.
Dit systeem, het ons ontspannende zenuwstelsel,
This system, our relaxing nervous system,
dat is een ongelooflijk sterke dokter.
that is an incredibly strong doctor.
That is the best professor of the university.
You all do a million, and then you still don't make it.
That is your doctor, that is your self-healing ability.
Dat is tot onvoorstelbare zaken in staat.
That is capable of unimaginable things.
But at the moment when I am stressed, it is turned off.
And a lot of what we have heard today
and from what we can experience and see in our daily lives,
is at the moment when we can tackle stress,
and we can let the self-healing, our true doctor, go to work,
then problems will be solved and we won't, like with Soltopox,
all those pills we need and those things that we as doctors like to offer,
omdat dat gemakkelijk is.
because it's easy.
Zo'n pilletje werkt veel sneller,
Such a pill works much faster,
But solving your stress is actually a key in the solution problem.
I took a few notes during this afternoon.
Ik heb Els horen spreken over...
I heard Els talking about...
trauma, opvoeding, angst en overtuigingen.
trauma, upbringing, anxiety, and beliefs.
Dat zijn allemaal factoren
Those are all factors.
that can maintain chronic stress in your body.
I have already mentioned Jan in connection with now.
and the importance of being present in the now.
I have also indicated a wish, so lifestyle, lifestyle adjustments.
Those are things you can use to tackle stress.
Je hebt natuurlijk algemene leefstijlaanpassingen,
Of course, you have general lifestyle adjustments,
such as nutrition and smoking and those health questions we have seen.
But you also have very specific ones, and Wensel has also emphasized that.
van we zijn allemaal uniek.
We are all unique.
Er bestaat niet one fits all.
There is no one size fits all.
You cannot help everyone with one solution.
Want jouw ziel is verschillend van elkaar.
For your soul is different from each other.
We are all different souls, we have different desires.
en verschillende dingen die we nodig hebben.
and various things that we need.
And if I define stress, as I have done,
as a conflict between my mind and my heart or my soul,
then what I need to do to be healthy and happy,
be something different from what Els has to do and what everyone among you is doing.
Dus heel individueel.
So very individually.
We will briefly touch on how you can make progress in that.
Familieopstellingen, subtiele energieën, het veld.
Family constellations, subtle energies, the field.
How can you resolve a conflict between a mother and daughter?
een effect hebben op onze immuniteit?
have an effect on our immunity?
I once received a question via email from a patient who was frustrated.
And he said, you have to explain to me once.
how that stress can explain my reduced natural killer cells.
She had gone to a doctor and they had measured her immunity.
en ze had een bepaalde witte bloedlichaampjes
and she had a certain type of white blood cells
die verlaagd waren in het bloed.
that were lowered in the blood.
She said, explain to me how that stress can have an influence on that.
because I am really sick and it has been proven and it can be seen in my blood.
Yes, explain to me how that is possible.
En eigenlijk is het ook zo
And actually, it's true.
that it isn't really very difficult once you understand how stress works
to observe the relationship between stress and chronic diseases.
Because of stress, we have seen in the schedule of Wenseltop.
van de stress en een immuunstelsel.
of stress and an immune system.
De relatie tussen stress en het immuunstelsel
The relationship between stress and the immune system
is eigenlijk puur hormonaal op het moment...
is actually purely hormonal at the moment...
Everyone knows that when you become stressed,
Then you activate your adrenal glands and they produce adrenaline.
And with adrenaline, you can do a lot.
Maar je bijnieren maken ook
But your adrenal glands also produce
a chronic stress hormone and that chronic stress hormone is cortisol.
Cortisol, hydrocortisone.
Cortisol, hydrocortisone.
And when you consider what a doctor can achieve with cortisone.
As a medicine, you can see that it has incredibly strong effects.
If someone with multiple sclerosis has an attack.
and much less experiencing a worsening, an outbreak,
They are going to the emergency services, and there they will get a steroid injection with cortisone.
Or someone with rheumatism who goes to the hospital.
en die krijgt cortisone toegediend.
and he is administered cortisone.
There are many chronic diseases that are treated with cortisone.
But cortisone, ladies and gentlemen, that is our stress hormone.
Dat is een van onze twee stresshormonen.
That is one of our two stress hormones.
We hebben adrenaline en cortisone.
We have adrenaline and cortisone.
So the relationship between stress and the immune system.
and issues that can really go wrong in your body, including autoimmunity,
die relatie is hormonaal en zenuwstelsel.
that relationship is hormonal and nervous system.
En dat kan je heel makkelijk uitleggen.
And that can be explained very easily.
And that has nothing to do with beliefs or anything like that.
And we have also seen here what EFT does.
So what I remembered, I wrote down from that piece.
It is a relaxation technique that allows you to think more clearly.
And actually, I just explained that at the moment
that your body goes into stress activates your reptilian brain,
your amygdala, and your human brain is actually turned off.
So at the moment you can tackle the stress.
en dat je een goeie relaxatietechniek toepast,
and that you apply a good relaxation technique,
or that you solve the problem and the conflict even better
waardoor je niet meer in stress zit,
which means you are no longer stressed,
At that moment you can reactivate your human brain.
en kun je terug helder nadenken.
and you can think clearly again.
That is something we can really explain beautifully.
Now, I would say with everything we have seen,
and we are already a bit over time,
but I would like to add one more thing
wat jullie gewoon thuis kunnen toepassen.
what you can easily apply at home.
I have placed the right emphasis on the fact.
dat we allemaal individueel uniek zijn.
that we are all uniquely individual.
One of the unfortunate things I regularly see,
That people are actually very little in touch with their own body.
Of met hun eigen verlangens, of met hun eigen ziel.
Either with their own desires or with their own soul.
Waarom ben ik op aarde? Wat doe ik hier eigenlijk?
Why am I on earth? What am I actually doing here?
Mijn nieuwe show, hè? Wat doe ik hier?
My new show, huh? What am I doing here?
Wat doe ik hier?
What am I doing here?
Met die vraag ook.
With that question as well.
Ja, en dat is niet toevallig. Dat is een vraag waar...
Yes, and that is not a coincidence. That is a question where...
And there could be so many solutions in it.
naast alle andere zaken die besproken werden.
besides all the other matters that were discussed.
There are many ways to cope with stress.
In mijn ervaring is trauma-aanpak zeker een belangrijke.
In my experience, trauma intervention is definitely an important one.
One that has not been discussed, which I will not elaborate on further here,
but I find it important to mention it just for a moment,
is traling.
is trailing.
Our lives are being filled more and more with radiation.
3G, 4G, 5G, wifi, bluetooth, alles wat draadloos werkt.
3G, 4G, 5G, wifi, bluetooth, everything that works wirelessly.
And some people... I am fortunate that I do not suffer from that,
maar ik heb patiënten gezien
but I have seen patients
that really one-on-one that you can see
that this is really a problem for those people in their lives
and removes the radiation problem and those people feel much better.
I find it important to realize that for a moment.
en misschien eens uit te proberen.
and maybe to try out sometime.
But besides that, it's something we can all do.
to reconnect with who we really are.
Het verhaal begint als volgt.
The story begins as follows.
At the moment that you don't do something that your soul asks you to do,
op dat moment activeert je stresssysteem.
At that moment, your stress system activates.
Dat stresssysteem activeert zenuwstelsel, hormonen, adrenaline.
That stress system activates the nervous system, hormones, adrenaline.
Your heart starts to beat a little faster, your muscles begin to tense up,
je spijsvertering wordt niet meer belangrijk,
your digestion becomes unimportant,
your humanity is no longer important, your human thinking is no more...
Dus allerlei zaken veranderen in je lichaam.
So all sorts of things are changing in your body.
And at the moment that you have done that once, nothing happens.
But at the moment that people who are chronically ill,
those who already live on the edge of their capacity.
And if anything else comes up,
and there's a bit of adrenaline coming in and it's still a bit difficult,
the muscles will tense a little more.
dan krijgen ze een klacht.
then they will receive a complaint.
Or, very often, they then feel a complaint a bit more.
Of een klacht die er altijd was.
Or a complaint that has always existed.
I get up in the morning and I am tired. I am always tired.
But I am sitting in my chair, I am reading a book.
en ik kan me zelfs niet meer... Nu moet ik gaan liggen.
and I can’t even... Now I have to lie down.
Dus een vereniging van een klacht.
So an association of a complaint.
Je lichaam gaat je altijd iets geven
Your body will always give you something.
at the moment when your mind is not in tune with your heart.
Your thinking, feeling, and doing are not aligned.
And that is something we say when we go to a classical doctor that
I have that complaint, I have that symptom, give me a pill so I don't have it anymore.
What I would like to share with you today is that if you have a complaint,
that you could smile at yourself and say thank you for that complaint.
Because now I know that there is something at this moment that is misleading my mind,
or is doing something that does not align with my soul, with my heart.
And what you can do at that moment is a small procedure of four steps.
De eerste stap is mindfulness.
The first step is mindfulness.
Because in order to find a solution, I first need to be aware in the here and now.
En vermitst heel veel chronisch zieke mensen leven in hun hoofd.
And since a lot of chronically ill people live in their heads.
And they even say literally, yes, I do want to continue,
maar mijn lichaam wil niet mee.
but my body doesn't want to cooperate.
And when people say that to me, I want to go on, but my body doesn’t want to cooperate,
dan zeg ik, waar ben jij dan?
Then I say, where are you then?
Want je lichaam, dat ben jij niet.
Because your body, that is not you.
Because I want to move forward, but my body is something different.
Figuratively speaking, but in the end, it often boils down to that.
People who are chronically ill live in their heads.
And that is understandable, that is a kind of escape mechanism,
because that body always just gives complaints, complaints, complaints.
I don't want to be in that, I want to move on, I want to move on with my life.
So you live in your head, but your head is full of beliefs.
and patterns, is in the past, is in the future,
and your head just keeps spinning around in there,
while your soul and your heart and your body in the here and now
wel een signaal probeert te geven.
well trying to send a signal.
So step one, at the moment you receive a complaint.
or at the moment when a complaint gets worse than the one you had before,
and I apply that to myself too when I get a headache in a certain situation,
of wat dan ook, of als ik moe word.
or anything else, or if I get tired.
De eerste stap, mindfulness. Oké, wat is er hier en nu?
The first step, mindfulness. Okay, what is here and now?
And to make it very simple, I say to people, take your cell phone,
zet hem op film, draai helemaal rond
put him on film, turn all the way around
and show that video to a neighbor, so to speak,
and ask what you see in that video.
Dat is voor mij mindfulness.
That is mindfulness for me.
Wat is er hier en nu gaande?
What is going on here and now?
Waar ben ik? Wat gebeurt er? Wat wordt er gezegd?
Where am I? What is happening? What is being said?
Wat is er hier en nu?
What is here and now?
Om het hoofd te dwingen
To force the head.
om op één lijn op z'n minste met je hart te komen
to get on the same page at least with your heart
en over hetzelfde te kunnen spreken.
and to be able to speak about the same thing.
So at the moment that the first step, that you are aware in the here and now,
Then comes the second step, which is what emotion fits that situation?
Wat voel ik daarbij?
What do I feel about that?
Zit daar kwaadheid? Zit daar verveling?
Is there anger there? Is there boredom there?
I find boredom very beautiful and very frequently occurring.
en zeer weinig erkende emotie door mensen.
and very little recognized emotion by people.
Als ik in mijn zetel zit,
When I am sitting in my chair,
and I've been watching Netflix there for way too long,
or I'm always just swiping on my phone or doing whatever,
"I'm reading a book and my heart, my soul says."
van daarvoor ben ik niet op aarde.
I am not on Earth for that.
Allee, dit is het leven niet.
Come on, this is not life.
I want to connect with nature, I want to go outside.
I want to get moving, I want to achieve something, whatever it may be.
Heel individueel, verschillend voor ieder van ons.
Very individual, different for each of us.
But when I'm sitting in my chair reading a book and my heart says
I want to move and I want to connect with nature.
My head will probably not notice that because I am reading.
Maar als mijn stresssysteem daardoor activeert
But if that activates my stress system
and my heart starts to beat a little faster, it might be that I feel my fear.
Because our body often recognizes a faster beating heart as fear.
En zo bestaan er angstpatiënten die zeggen
And so there are anxiety patients who say
I experience panic attacks at the most bizarre moments.
There is nothing going on at all, but there is an emotion underneath.
And very often it is boredom, or sometimes I have to set my boundaries.
There is an emotion that I have not recognized from my heart.
en waar ik niet naar handel.
and where I do not act.
So imagine in my little example, step one, I am sitting in my chair to read my book.
Step two, it's boredom, my body needs balance.
Stap drie is, doe dat.
Step three is, do that.
At that moment. The insight you gain, my body may be asking for balance,
I will put on my shoes at this moment.
en ik zal aan het fietsen.
and I will be cycling.
I do that at that moment and step four is,
Evaluate at that moment when you are cycling, what that does to you.
Take a moment for mindfulness and ask yourself,
How is it now with my fatigue, headache, complaint that I felt?
When I was sitting in my chair reading, how is that now while I am cycling?
And if that is better, I will keep it in your ears, ladies and gentlemen,
if that is better, then your body tells you, this is good for me.
Dit is goed voor mijn gezondheid.
This is good for my health.
What I hear very often is that people start cycling and feel better.
and then coming home and when they arrive home, just by opening the door,
that the fatigue hits twice as hard and I shouldn't have done it
and my condition does not allow it and I shouldn't have gone cycling.
While you were cycling, the complaint was better, less tired.
fewer complaints, trust your body in the here and now.
If you feel better while cycling at that moment,
Then it means that cycling is good for your health.
When you get home and receive more complaints,
Then that means that coming home is not good for your body.
Then your heart and your soul have a message about home.
Wat is die routine thuis?
What is that routine at home?
Vult die echt in wie ik ben?
Does it really fill in who I am?
Vult die in wat ik graag doe?
Does that fit with what I like to do?
Does it fill in what I do from my passion, what gives me energy?
Waarschijnlijk niet.
Probably not.
En breng daar verandering in.
And bring about change there.
Emotie is zo belangrijk als verschil.
Emotion is as important as difference.
There are patients who sit still way too much.
and those receive as advice to become more active, very good advice.
Zij kopen een...
They are buying a...
Or they get a stationary bike reimbursed by the health insurance.
en ze beginnen erop te trainen.
and they start training on it.
Every day they go for five minutes, ten minutes, and they build up.
At the beginning, it goes well and they feel that they are doing it really well.
Vroeger zat ik altijd in mijn zetel.
I used to always sit in my chair.
Now I'm going on that exercise bike and I feel that it does me good.
And after a while, that completely turns around and they say
Now I am on my exercise bike and it's not working at all anymore.
I have much more pain, many more complaints, much more fatigue.
Nee, ik mag dat niet meer doen.
No, I may not do that anymore.
And then I say stop with that exercise bike, in any case,
because while you do it, your body indicates that it is not right.
But take your real bike and go cycling in the park.
En dan zeggen mensen...
And then people say...
And suddenly it gave back energy and felt much better.
However, when you look at it purely from a physical standpoint, it is exactly the same.
I am getting on a bike and I am pedaling.
And if you look at my muscles and the energy I expend
And all you want is for that to be exactly the same on that exercise bike as in the park.
And yet, on that exercise bike, it gives me more complaints.
and in the park it gives me energy and I feel much better.
Emotie is het enige verschil
Emotion is the only difference.
Between those two situations, emotion is so important.
Maar emotie is heel persoonlijk, heel individueel.
But emotion is very personal, very individual.
And my message, with which I want to conclude, is from...
Try to connect with your soul and your emotions.
by smiling at them when you receive complaints, to be grateful
and say okay, thank you, body, for speaking to me.
I'm going to take a look now, what is here and now?
What is the emotion? I will act on it and see if it makes me feel better.
And that is something very simple, it has no side effects.
Dat kun je altijd proberen.
You can always give that a try.
And the ultimate goal is, become who you are.
En dan krijg je gezondheid en geluk.
And then you gain health and happiness.
Dank je wel, Chris. Fantastisch. Dank je wel.
Thank you, Chris. Fantastic. Thank you.
There you go. Ladies and gentlemen, this was a long session,
but I hope that you have gained an immense amount from it.
I hope you can move forward with it as well.
For the rest, I wish you all a very nice sunny evening, afternoon.
And for the rest, I hope to see you at one of the upcoming events.
Vertel dit vooral verder,
Make sure to spread this further,
because I think that everyone can use this kind of information.
En ik wil alle experten ontzettend bedanken
And I want to thank all the experts very much.
that they did this for us and for me.
Dank u wel aan jullie allemaal.
Thank you all very much.
