DarkCompass 1224 Sept 6th 2024 – Untie Jasmin
I always thought that I had to endure
Carry the weight of it all
Parts of myself had to be ignored
Or I'd be unlovable
But lately I've felt the change
And it feels like a betrayal
I guess my nature's showing
That I'm not the same
But lately I've felt the change
What it is I cannot size
I guess my nature's showing
What it is I cannot size
No, it's a cold belief
No longer setting me free
No, it's a cold belief
We'll be right back.
This is Los Lindens!
L!
In the shadows of the city, you rose high
A warrior of truth, but the master will die
Trying to see his name, and goes loud
No pulse in your throat, standing proud
Johnny Z, the keeper of the flame
Never now, not a day he rests, no shame
Justice in his hands, sweet in his eyes
Against the face, he always defies
Democratic and firm, no figures to play
Supporting musicians, helping free
In a jungle of lies, he's the voice of reason
Protecting talent, without any treason
Johnny Z, the keeper of the flame
Never now, not a day he rests, no shame
Justice in his hands, sweet in his eyes
Against the face, he always defies
Johnny Z
The pathetic past agent, a nest of deceit
Crushing dreams, promoting the elite
Johnny Z is there, as corrupted and true
Walking as an old man, he's the best
Catching the whole world, always pushing through
Johnny Z, the keeper of the flame
Never now, not a day he rests, no shame
Justice in his hands, sweet in his eyes
Against the face, he always defies
The pathetic past agent, a nest of deceit
Supporting musicians, helping the slain
In the jungle of lies, he's the voice of reason
Protecting talents without any treason
Philanthropic inferno, fearless to play
Supporting musicians, helping the slain
In the jungle of lies, he's the voice of reason
Protecting talents without any treason
Many presages, it's not just seeds
Crushing dreams, promoting the elite
Putting teeth, dance, uncorrupted and true
Packing national metal, always pushing through
Always pushing through
On the battlefield, his voice is thunder
Descending metal, art through water
Having seen the hero, won't surrender
That metal scene, his reign is forever
In the jungle of lies, he's the voice of reason
Protecting talents without any treason
It's getting hit on a number of other people here on the station
and, of course, on the Cutting Edge playlist,
which we put together for a Saturday morning with brand-new music,
brand-new singles from bands you know and brand-new bands,
which we really love.
And, yeah, yeah, we're really enjoying doing it.
One band that I'm really getting into at the moment is a fantastic band
by the name of Running With Knives.
Now, they have just played Bloodstock.
They were there the other week and, yeah, went down really, really well indeed.
Go and check them out over at their Facebook page.
Running WK is where you can find them.
This is their new single.
This is called Ashes.
Ashes
Faithful eyes upon me, the end is growing near
The weight of their expectations slowly bringing me to tears
On a pedestal I stand above the rest
They scream my name, I'm a king on the scene
A hero grand and the pressure is building
Now I feel the strain
I don't wanna preach to the masses
They kill my passion with eternal flame
And every time I get burned to ashes
I try to rise but it's not the same
I don't wanna preach to the masses
They kill my passion with eternal flame
Every time I get burned to ashes
I try to rise but it's not the same
Unleash the raging storm, I set my ground
Standing tall but as the reach of change transforms
I stumble and lose it all
Screams turn to whispers
The applause turns to tears
The world's on fire amidst the blisters
And I'm left alone to face my fears
I don't wanna preach to the masses
They kill my passion with eternal flame
And every time I get burned to ashes
I try to rise but it's not the same
I don't wanna preach to the masses
They kill my passion with eternal flame
Every time I get burned to ashes
I try to rise but it's not the same
I don't wanna preach to the masses
They kill my passion with eternal flame
And every time I get burned to ashes
I try to rise but it's not the same
They kill my passion with eternal flame
I'm hard apart, with no strength
A man-machine to entertain
I'm a human being with my own feelings
I feel the weight of all disguise
I'm 군 estat
I don't wanna break to the masses
They fill my passion with internal flame
And every time I get burned to ashes
I try to rise but it's not the same
I don't wanna break to the masses
They fill my passion for their own fucking game
I try to rise but it's not the same
They fill my passion for their own game
I try to rise but it's not the same
I don't like the way you talk this way
This evil wish can't be defined
Open doors are staring back at me
Which to choose or take them all
It's all up to you
It could be you
It could be me
It could be anyone's for free
Make a move to believe
This could be your life
It's the thrill of a lifetime
Walking the sound
And on the blade
Keep my feet upon the ground
Every step
I take preparing me
Choices made affecting all
It could be you
It could be me
It could be anyone's for free
Make a move to believe
This could be your life
Trusting truth
Trusting faith
It's not all a big mistake
Stay alive
Take a ride
Just feel me on your heart
It's the thrill of a lifetime
Fall through the breakdown
When no usually finds
Talkin attitude
guitar solo
It could be me
It could be anyone for free
Make a move to believe
This could be all mine
Trusting truth, trusting faith
It's not all a big mistake
Stand up, take a right
This could be all mine
It's a thrill of a lifetime
Who's the lead guitarist and vocalist, of course?
So, yeah, go and check them out, won't you please?
You're listening to Rho, this is Dark Compass
Still got lots of great stuff to play
Onwards to Finland now
For some symphonic hard rock, I thought
A band called Yesterday Mass
Their new album, which is called
I cannot remember the name of it
It's always the way, isn't it?
Yes, but I do like their new single
This is Take My Hand
Running steps
But nowhere to go
Keep on breathing
There's no place
Where to return
Hundred souls
Save their own in the rain
Casting light on
Path ahead
Ever dreaming all at once
By all the dreams that die
They push you on
Have to keep on moving
Tap the fear aside
To find your home
Take my hand
That's the journey
Take your soul
Take your love
Takes it all
Take my hand
Take a step, and take control
That I've been by your side
Through the woods
And the deep below is a trial
Criminals and liars
Side by side
But when you have to let go
Will the truth arise
To break your fall?
So take my hand
Take my hand
That's the journey
Take your soul
Takes your love
Takes it all
Take my hand
Take the step
Take control
Be brave to start
From
Sometimes
You catch yourself
Looking back on long gone days
Sometimes
The smallest step
Can start the longest
Journey's of
Them all
Oh
Yeah
Oh
Whoa
Oh
Thanks for watching!
Thank you.
Good, heavy riffs.
I do like that indeed.
That track has taken off their brand new album,
which is out, I think, next month,
the 17th of October, called Black Shift.
It's their second album,
a follow-on from their previous one, Ascension.
You can go and check them out, of course,
at ghostheartnebula.bandcamp.com.
Thanks for them for dropping it off to us.
I really do appreciate it.
You can find them over on Facebook as well,
and, of course, on all the music sites too.
Good stuff.
Love that.
However you want to call it, Doomgaze or not,
I'm not entirely sure.
There's just something about it that I really like,
and I hope you did too.
You're listening to Row, this is Dark Compass.
Still got a few tracks left to play you.
I hope you're enjoying this show.
Drop me a line.
My socials.

and Dark Compass page on Instagram.
You can also find me over at Hard Rock Hell Radio.
The socials there are on the website, of course.
They are in even more places.
Yes, indeed.
So, yes, please feel free to drop us a line.
Let me know whether you like the music or not.
Yes.
Because I won't adjust it.
I won't change.
I'll be doing this far too long
to change my mind.
And take opinions of other people.
Yeah, never mind.
Anyway, on to the next one, shall we?
Slower are releasing a brand new album
called Rage and Ruin.
Bob Bouch, of course, involved with this
alongside Amy Tung
and, of course, Esben Williams from Monolord.
And they did.
It's an album a while back,
which is all Slayer covers.
And remember, I played a few of those
over the few months that that came out.
And you can still get your hands on it.
Still a great album.
Well worth going and checking out.
But this new album, Rage and Ruin,
I'm looking forward to.
I really am.
They've gone and dropped a track off to us
for you to have a listen to, of course.
You can go and find them.
I just typed.
Do a search for Slower.
But, yeah, maybe heavysightsounds.com.
Links, of course, in the show notes
where you can go and pre-order
and go and find more stuff about them.
Yes, they're a fantastic track.
This is called Hellfire.
Hellfire.
That church, they belong to the east side
Went on to the west
He walks through the valley, the valley of death
And he walks through the valley of death
Wind howls to the sound of the drum
He's inside my chest
He walks through the valley, the valley of death
And he walks through the valley of death
He's there around, trying to grasp what's left of all
The miracle of life
He walks through the valley, the valley of death
And he walks through the valley of death
Mouths moving shapes, things that never make it to the screen
He's inside my chest
He walks through the valley, the valley of death
And he walks through the valley of death
Yeah
He's down on me
He's in
Burning up to the heavens
One last caress
He walks through the valley, the valley of death
And he walks through the valley of death
Silence
Swirls around in the chaos
Be all that he is
He walks through the valley, the valley of death
And he walks through the valley of death
First passing to the world
I've wasted so stuck in the flames of time
As he walks through the valley, the valley of death
And he walks through the valley of death
Despair she lays her hands on every living thing
Well come wildfire
As he walks through the valley, the valley of death
And he walks through the valley of death
Yeah
Come on
He
It's down on me
guitar solo
It's down on me
I see the morning light
Everything's gonna be alright
I hear my favorite song
Everyone was singing low
Higher
Gonna get you higher
Inside you're burning up the street
I feel the morning rays
New roads and a brand new world
I hear my favorite song
Everyone was singing low
Higher
Gonna get you higher
Inside you're burning up the street
guitar solo
D-Gash and Fire
D-Dash and Fire
