Lininger Family Podcast: Is This Mic On?

Oh, Spider-Pig, Spider-Pig, Spider-Pig, does whatever the Spider-Pig does.

Can he sweep the world? Oh no, he can't, he's a pig.

Look out, here's a Spider-Pig, Spider-Pig, look out, here's a Spider-Pig, Spider-Pig.

Oh, Spider-Pig.

Here I am, and I've got Noah with me, and we're going to find out about state school.

Noah, what was the idea for state school?

Well, state school is a school where all the states go to learn about what happened in their past.

Oh, so it's kind of like a history lesson.

Kind of, but they all go to school, and they're all alive.

All the states go to school?

Mm-hmm.

What happens at state school?

Well, a lot of things.

For example, Hawaii the new kid got bossed around by New York and his three bully assistants,

like Texas, California, and what was the big one, the big icy one?

Was it Alaska?

Iceland?

No, Alaska, I think.

Oh yeah, Alaska.

Yeah, okay.

The dream is fading now I'm staring at the door.

I know it's over cause my feet have hit the cold floor.

Check my reflection I ain't feeling what I see.

There's no mystery.

Whatever happened to a passion I could live for?

What became of the flame that made me feel more?

And when did I forget-

That-

I was made to love you, I was made to find you.

I was made to find you.

I was made to find live you, I finally found me.

I was made just for you, made to adore you.

I was made to love and be loved by you.

You were here before me, you were waiting on me.

And you said you'd keep me, never would you need me.

I was made to love and be loved by you.

Your dreams are live with my eyes open wide.

Back in the ring, you got me swinging for the grand prize.

I feel the haters spitting vapors on my dreams.

But I still believe.

I'm reaching out, reaching out, reaching over.

I feel the brains cover me, call Jehovah.

And daddy, I'm on my way.

Cause I was made to love.

I was made to love you.

I was made to find you.

I was made just for you, made to adore you.

I was made to love and be loved by you.

You were here before me.

You were waiting on me.

And you said you'd keep me, never would you need me.

I was made to love and be loved by you.

I was made to love you.

I was made just for you, made to adore you.

I was made to love and be loved by you.

You were here before me.

You were waiting on me.

And you said you'd keep me, never would you need me.

I was made to love and be loved by you.

Love by you

Anything I would give up for you

Everything I'd give it all away

Anything I would give up for you

Everything I'd give it all away

Anything I would give up for you

Everything I'd give it, I'd give it all away

Oh yeah

Cause I was made to love you

I was made to love you

Yeah, I was made to love you

I was made to love you

Cause I was made to love you

I was made to love you

Cause I was made to love you

I was made to love you

Yeah, I was made to love you

I was made to love you

Yeah, I'm in love by you

So, Dad, do you have any requests?

I mean, who do you want to hear about?

Well, I want to hear what happened when Hawaii got picked on by Alaska and Texas and California.

Why did all the big states go and pick on little Hawaii?

Hawaii was immediately considered little.

Little.

He was just, and he was like in a bunch of little pieces, like Mr. DNA from Jurassic Park.

Well, are all of the states boys or are there girl states too?

There are girl states.

What are the girl states?

There are a lot of them.

Like what? Which ones are girl states?

There are a lot. I can't name them all.

Well, tell me a few of them.

Like Delaware, Kansas, Maine.

Hmm.

Tennessee?

Yeah.

Yeah? How about Mississippi?

No.

Alabama?

No.

Georgia?

Yeah.

Washington?

Dad, let's not continue on with this stuff.

Well, tell me what happened about when Oregon went to state school.

What was that first day of school like?

Well, there weren't a lot of them there yet.

For example, Alaska, the bully assistant had not started coming to school yet.

Neither had Little Hawaii.

Oh, my. Who else was late coming to school?

Well, I mean, they hadn't attended school yet.

But, um, well, I'm not too sure when a lot of them were.

Well, who were the first ones to get to school?

Uh, I think it was Virginia?

Do you remember who the very, very first state was to get to school?

I'll give you a hint. It was a girl state.

Rhode Island?

Delaware?

Delaware, that's right.

Rhode Island, isn't it?

A girl state.

I just got confused.

Rhode Island's not a girl state?

No, it's a boy state.

Oh, my.

Okay.

And wave, it's a curious thing

And it's humbling

Where we go, little glowums glow

Little roadrunners run ahead

Gonna tell their friends

Little mice, little men

Get them all excited, all invited

Hands up, holler back here

Let's throw this party in gear

We brought the world, come my

Wherever we go, that's where the party's at

Hands up, holler back now

We don't claim any, no

How we giving God all that

Wherever we go, that's where the party's at

Wherever we go, the tone get wise

And the crime rates drop and the markets rise

It's a curious thing

But it's just our thing

Bullies make noise, crooks repent

And the ozone layer shows improvement

It's a curious thing

And it's humbling

Where we're led, all the living dead

Wanna leave that zombie mob

It's a touching scene

Where they all come clean

God help us, we just love our job

Hands up, holler back here

Let's throw this party in gear

We brought the world, come my

Wherever we go, that's where the party's at

Hands up, holler back now

We don't claim any, no

How we giving God all that

Wherever we go, that's where the party's at

Throw your hands up high

Throw your hands up, throw your hands up high

This is the message we spread

Ring it loud to the end

This is a gospel message

This is a good news expo

Follow us wherever we go

This is a message we spread

Ring it loud to the end

This is a good news expo

Follow us wherever we go

Hands up, holler back here

Let's throw this party in gear

We brought the world, come my

Is New York a boy state?

Yes

Is that why he's so mean?

Yeah

Because he's a boy?

No, no, no

No, it's just because he's the rich snob of the class

And why does Texas hang around with New York?

Because he's big and dumb

And doesn't know where to go for fun

Who's the principal, Noah?

Who's the principal of state school?

Washington, D.C.

What's he like?

Is it a he or a she?

He's mean

Is it a he or a she?

A he

Yeah?

What makes Washington, D.C. so mean?

Well, he's really strict

And he wants to become king of the world

Uh-huh

Sounds like he could be fun

Bless you

No, no, he wants to kill Idaho

Why Idaho?

Well, because Idaho wears sunglasses

Oh, because, do you remember why it wears sunglasses?

Let me know

Bless you

Oh, my

Are you allergic to that?

Well, I'm allergic to that

Are you allergic to this story?

No, but Washington, D.C. hates sunglasses

Why does Idaho wear sunglasses?

I don't know, because he looks cool

I think it's because Idaho has famous potatoes

And the potatoes wear sunglasses

And so Idaho wears sunglasses

Not really

What do you mean, not really?

That's exactly why

And Idaho also hangs out with his two other cool friends

Ohio and Kentucky

What's so special about Ohio and Kentucky?

They also wear sunglasses

They do?

Yeah

They don't have famous potatoes

You think I care?

You've got a friend in me

When the road looks rough ahead

And you're miles and miles from your nice warm bed

You just remember what your old pal said

Boy, you've got a friend in me

Yeah, you've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me

You've got trouble

And I've got them too

Yeah, you've got a friend in me

There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you

We stick together to see it through

Cause you've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me

Some of the folks might be a little bit smarter than I am

Big and strong too

Maybe

But none of them will ever love you the way I do

It's me and you, boy

And as the years go by

Our friendship will never die

You're gonna see it's our destiny

You've got a friend in me

Tell me, well, what state you want to hear about?

I want to hear all about Florida.

Well, Florida attended, I don't know.

But anyways, he's had some rough times at state school

getting picked on by California

because California thinks he's better

because he has Disneyland

and then Florida's always showing off his little model Disney World

so then they always fight.

And California's bigger so he usually does.

Beats up Florida.

Really?

And Florida just takes it?

No, he's trying to tell the principal.

But the principal always sides with California.

I don't know.

I think for some reason our principal would probably side with Florida

in a big way.

Oh, no.

Well, you might be surprised.

I'm American made, but large every day

My mama taught me wrong from right

I was born in the South

Sometimes I have a big mouth

When I see something that I don't like

I gotta say it

Well, we've been driving this road for a mighty long time

Paying our mind to the signs

Well, this neighborhood's changed

It's all been rearranged

We left that team somewhere behind

Slow down, we're gonna crash

Baby, you will scream

And it's a blast, blast, blast

Look out, baby, you got your blunders on

Everybody's looking for a way to get real gone

Real gone

There's a new cat in town

He's got high paid friends

Thinks he's gonna change history

You think you know him so well

Yeah, you think

You think he's gonna change history

I swear, but it's just perpetuating prophecy

Come on now

Slow down, we're gonna crash

Baby, you will scream

And it's a blast, blast, blast

Look out, you got your blunders on

Everybody's looking for a way

To get real gone

Real gone

Well, you can say what you want

But you can't stay around here

Cause they'll catch you and give you

A weapon

Well, I believe I was right

When I said you were wrong

You didn't like the sound of that

Now, did you?

Slow down, you're gonna crash

Baby, you're screaming

It's a blast, blast, blast

Look out, you got your blunders on

Everybody's looking for a way

To get real gone

Well, here I come

And I'm so not scared

Got my platter to the metal

Got my hands in the air

So look out, you got your blunders on

Everybody's looking for a way

To get real gone

Real gone

Wow, well, let's talk about some state history

Do you remember what state mom was born in?

I think it was California

Do you remember what city she was born in?

No

Yeah, well, she was born in California

What about me?

What state I was born in?

Oregon

What about Eden?

Oregon

What about Aunt Shantrain?

Was it Oregon?

Uh-huh

What about Grandpa?

Washington

Oregon

, mm-hmm

What about Uncle Jay?

Oregon

What about Aunt Tia?

Oregon

California

I think Aunt Tia was born in California, but I'm not positive

How about Papa?

Delaware?

No

California?

Uh-huh, I think so

What about Nani?

California?

No, she was born where they make lots of cheese

Do you know what a cheese state is?

What's the big cheese state?

Oklahoma?

North of Oklahoma

Like, way north of Oklahoma

North and kind of north, northeast

New Mexico?

Montana?

Idaho?

You're just naming out states

Show me where Oklahoma is on the map

I don't know

Okay, go all the way north

They want to hear about state school

And then go to the right

Yeah, what state's that?

Michigan?

What does it say?

It doesn't say anything

It says Wisconsin

Where?

In my mind

Oh

On my mind map, it says Wisconsin

That's where Nani was born

Okay

All right

Well, we got that all cleared away, didn't we?

Yes

How about Uncle Seth?

Uncle Seth?

Dad, let's get back to the state school

I think Uncle Seth was born in Oregon

Yeah

I did

Yeah

Oh

34

Oh

Yeah

Walls, windows, trees, waves coming through

You being me and I'll be you

Together in eternity

Some kind of ecstasy gonna hold on me

Up among the firs where it smells so sweet

Or down in the valley where the river used to be

I got my mind on eternity

Some kind of ecstasy gonna hold on me

And I'm wondering where the lions are

I'm wondering where the lions are

Mm-hmm

Uh-huh

Mmm-hmm

A huge orange flying boat rises off the lake

Thousand-year-old Patrick Lips doing a double-take

Pointing a finger at eternity

I'm sitting in the middle of ecstasy

A young man marching, helmet shining in the sun

Polished and precise like the brain behind the gun should be

They got me thinking about eternity, but some kind of ecstasy

Gotta hold on me

And I'm wondering where the lions are

I'm wondering where the lions are

The freighter's on the knot on the surface of the bay

One of these days we're gonna sail away

We're gonna sail into eternity

Some kind of ecstasy's gonna hold on to me

And I'm wondering where the lions are

I'm wondering where the lions are

Good, now, we only have a lot of time left

So, one more question

Uncle Tom.

No!

State schools!

Ah, he was born in Oregon!

All right.

We want state school questions.

Okay.

So then what happened?

What?

I thought you were telling me about state school.

Dad, that drive between Florida and California is over.

Do you remember what any of the birds are that go to the states?

That go with the states?

Let's just keep talking about state school.

Not birds.

I thought the states had to learn, like, what their favorite birds were.

Oh.

Well, I think Idaho is an eagle.

Oh, words.

Um...

I don't know.

Are you making this up?

I think that's Arizona.

Arkansas?

Alabama?

That's Arkansas, yes.

I think that is a chicken.

Uh-huh.

No, I mean, Ohio is a chicken.

Well, I think you're close because Arkansas has those famous chickens from Tyson Farms.

So you're probably right.

Dad, we're out of time!

Wait!

Dad, tell me more about state school!

No!

Well, I guess we're not out of time completely.

See?

That little thing moves.

So brilliant.

Did you have any other stories to tell about state school?

You just have to ask, well, which one do you want to hear?

Well, why did the Dakotas...

Why is there North Dakota and South Dakota instead of just there being Maine Dakota?

Like, all of Dakota.

Why are there two different ones?

Well, Dad, when twins are born and there's a girl...

That girl is called the South State, and the boy is called the North State.

That's what happens?

Mm-hmm.

So which one is the girl state?

South Dakota.

Well, what is North Dakota then?

The boy.

So why then do they...

Why are there two states?

I don't understand.

Why don't they just call them all one state?

They're twins!

They're not one state!

Um...

Kind of like you and Eden?

We're not twins.

Oh, yeah.

That's right.

Mom told me that one time.

Satsang with Mooji

I made a deal with you.

What I desire is man's red fire to make my dream come true.

Now give me the secret, man cub.

Come on, clue me what to do.

Give me the power of man's red flower so I can be like you.

And how did they, how did Rhode Island ask to get beaten up?

He didn't really ask. Well, I mean, he kind of did.

He said to them, I challenge you to a fight with the whole school watching.

He only got one punch in, and that was on California's leg.

It didn't do any good at all.

And then what, did Rhode Island even get up after the fight?

Um, yes, he went to the constriction nurse immediately.

Oh my goodness, that's sad.

I think he's done a lesson.

I think he's done a lesson not to pick on bullies.

Yeah, and what lesson does that teach the rest of us who are listening to the story?

Don't pick on bullies.

Sounds good.

So, I guess this is the end of our education on state school today.

Is it recording?

Yeah.

Okay.

What's the date?

September 25th, 2007.

Do you have anything, any final words?

I'm trying!

Yeah?

Okay, well, I guess that was...

Oh, that was...

Oh, good.

For a second, I thought he wasn't going to be able to...

Oops.

Uh-oh.

You want to go get the paper towel, clean that up?

Dad, it's a burp. I didn't throw up.

I'm not so sure.

All right, September 25th, 2007.

Noah, thanks for the education.

Yeah.

Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do

Out in the West Texas town of El Paso

I fell in love with a Mexican girl

Do-do-do, all the way, all the way

Nighttime King was fine

Being in a black light

I enjoyed it

The母 Jah diden't push me

Oh they say her ears were too sharp

Do-do do-do do-do-do

Played some kind of conditioner

Do-do-do, pa-pa-pa- intensely

The night

Night-time would finally

Seriously sound the student bomb

Phelina would whir

Black of the night were the eyes of Phelina

Wicked and evil while casting a spell

No-no-no singin'

Well do-do-do-do-do-do-do

My love was deep for this Mexican maid

I was in love but in vain, I could tell

Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do

One night a wild young cowboy came in

Wild as the West Texas wind

Dashing and daring the drink he was sharing

With wicked Felina, the girl that I loved

So in anger I challenged his right for the love of this maiden

Down with his hand for the gun that he wore

My challenge was answered in less than a heartbeat

A handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor

Out through the back door of roses I ran

Out where the horses were tied

I caught a good one, it looked like it could run

Up on its back and away I did

Just as fast as I could from the West Texas town of El Paso

Out through the badlands of New Mexico

Back in El Paso my life would be worthless

Everything's gone and like nothing is left

It's been so long since I've seen the young maiden

My love is stronger than my fear of death

I saddled up and away I did go

Riding alone in the dark

Maybe tomorrow a bullet could find me

Tonight nothing's worse than the pain in my heart

And at last here I am on the hill overlooking El Paso

I can see Rosa's Cantina below

My love is strong and it pushes me onward

Down off the hill to Felina's I go

Off to my right that C-5 mounted cowboy

Off to my left ride a dozen or more

Shouting and shooting I can't let them catch me

I have to make it to Rosa's back door

Back to life

Something is dreadfully wrong, for I feel a deep burning pain in my side.

Though I am trying to stay in the saddle, I'm getting weary, unable to ride.

But my love for Felina is strong, and I rise where I've fallen.

Though I am weary, I can't stop to rest.

I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle, I feel the bullet go deep in my chest.

From out of nowhere, Felina has found me, kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side.

Greeted by two loving arms that I die for, one little kiss and Felina, good.

Goodbye.
