President Trump has issued an executive order aimed specifically at social media companies
who he accuses of censoring posts and tweets from conservatives.
But the policies of Twitter, Facebook, and most other social media companies
are based on behavior, not ideology.
And millions of conservatives have been free to express their views on these services.
The president's executive order focuses on the First Amendment,
which applies to government, not private parties.
Just as an individual could kick somebody out of their house for saying nasty things or lying,
private companies can delete or fact-check posts that violate their terms of service,
especially if they're fair and consistent.
