We now have more than one Lyman running a write-in campaign for governor.
So what does this mean for Phil Lyman, the man who lost the primary race?
Most are worried that write-in ballots won't be counted for the intended candidate.
But Associate Director of the Hinckley Institute, Morgan Lyon-Cotty,
says,
In Utah, as long as the election worker can tell what it says,
your vote will be counted.
But you've got to include the first name.
KSL Newsradio's Britt Johnson there.
Lyon-Cotty says write-in voters tend to be well-informed.
Hopefully, they'll take the time to clearly identify their intended candidate,
whether it's Phil Lyman or Jim Lyman or whoever.
Former President Trump will be fundraising in Utah next week.
This is the third fundraising event scheduled this summer
after the first two.
Deseret News reports this new event next Saturday night
will be in Salt Lake City.
The event's organizer says location will be announced closer to the date.
Vice President Kamala Harris has raised $500 million
during her presidential bid, more than former President Trump,
and she's spreading the wealth around to smaller, local races.
Anyone who's elected using her money are now loyal to her.
So she's building, kind of like old school,
politics, right, Dave?
Like, she's building a party machine to run with her
as she's going into this presidency.
Weber State University political science professor and KSL at Night co-host
Leah Murray says Harris is sending money to places
where every last vote counts for the Democrats.
TikTok says it's going one step further than necessary
to protect children online.
TikTok is out with a new plan designed to help parents
better talk to their kids about healthy online habits.
Susie Loftus is the head of trust and safety at TikTok.
This campaign is really about providing simple, straightforward support
so parents have the information that they need
to really set the digital boundaries that make sense for their family.
TikTok already offers privacy controls that let parents
link their accounts with their kids
and control things like direct messages.

Charges have been filed against a Kearns man accused of firing 13 shots
in the middle of a car crash.
into another vehicle while his children were in the backseat.
33-year-old Tony Robinson is being charged with attempted murder,
a first-degree felony according to charging documents.
They also state that Robinson allegedly targeted another driver
who he believed was affiliated with a rival gang,
making threatening comments about putting a bullet in his head.
After emptying his 9mm, leaving bullet holes
and shattering the rear passenger window,
the victim wasn't hurt.
Police say he changed his story multiple times
and claimed the other driver pointed a gun at him.
Witnesses reported seeing Robinson holding the gun
while removing his 6- and 3-year-old children
from the car at his Sandy apartment complex.

Eight new pickleball courts are now open at Rosewood Park in Salt Lake City.
Laura Briefer, the director of the Department of Public Utilities,
says these used to be tennis courts,
but they were demolished
because they had to replace an underground sewer line.
The plan was to then replace,
the tennis courts with the park.
But as our team was out on site
and talking to the community about the project,
it became very apparent that what the community really wanted
was pickleball courts.
Briefer says the ribbon-cutting this morning was a success
with a lot of excitement from the community.
KSL Newstime, 635 First Look Traffic.
Ricky, we still talking about 201?
We are.
This is a rollover crash, I'm afraid,
this vehicle is sitting on its roof.
This is a pretty sad situation
when you see this kind of property damage.
And there may be injuries.
Westbound on the 21st South Freeway at about 9th West,
only a far right lane of traffic is getting by.
Traffic is not only back to the I-15 junction,
but affecting all ramps to go to the 21st South Freeway.
