New Site Launch & Need for Patience

Hi, my name is Stephen Lee. I'm the founder of Sermon Audio, and yesterday we had a big

announcement. We had our big release, our launch of our new website.

Now, this is just a short little video to say that we know that with such a seismic shift

of a release, there will be some issues that crop up here and there. We know that.

We're aware of that. We're hearing your feedback, and we're working on it.

Please understand something. What we have done yesterday and what we have been working towards

up until yesterday has been an enormous amount of work. It is something that took years

in the making. We had a previous site that was basically 24 years old, and we had to

create a new site.

A new system that uses completely new tools. All new tools. We're not just talking about

a new coat of paint. It is 100% from the ground up. I would say even underground,

all of the infrastructure underneath. You're not going to have that kind of change,

that kind of effort without

some issues.

So, let's try to recap some things that we know.

Number one, it's absolutely necessary what we did. 100%. Absolutely necessary.

People don't like change, but like a surgeon, if you don't go in there and have a little

bit of pain, then you will eventually have a much worse problem on your hands.

And so we just have to understand that.

There is short-term change is always a little painful, but this is important for the long-term.

And we are building for the long-term.

It's very important that we have done this. So, number one, it's important. Number two,

there's no other way for us to reach the world. The old system did not have the ability to

be internationalized or have the website localized into different languages. It was just no way.

So, if we have any interest in reaching the world, we had to go down this road.

Number three, along with number two, is the old system would never have enjoyed global sermons,

the ability to use some of these newer tools to re-preach sermons in English into other languages.

The old system was not set up for this.

The old system was not set up for such a thing. We now are set up for such a thing.

Number four, we have to have the tools and the platform that the current crop of developers use.

We have to do that in order for us to continue.

So, this is an important step. It's necessary, and we're asking for patience.

Change is never easy.

I don't like change any more than anyone else out there.

But it's necessary.

And if there are things that we need to improve, we will improve them.

We're constantly improving.

Every day, we are improving and pushing out releases.

So, have a little patience with us.
