And she has such a great history.

She's very well respected indeed.

An American singer, actress and the lead singer of the vocal group The Supremes

who became Motown's most successful act during the 1960s

and one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time.

And they still remain the best charting female group

in history.

Lots of great tracks.

She did actually leave The Supremes in 1970.

And she also achieved recognition as an artist in the mainstream

in her role as the global, should I say,

Golden Globe Award-winning Academy Award-nominated portrayal

of Billie Holiday in the film Lady Sings the Blues back in 1972.

Lots of great hits done.

Lots and lots of musicals,

including The Wiz in 1978 with Michael Jackson.

And she still is doing great today,

being active in the circuit since 1959.
