AMPed Show #554
You're listening to AMT, the official weekly update for the Association of Music Podcasting.
This is AMT, show number 554. I'm your host for this episode, Stuart Morrison from Insomnia Radio.
You're listening to a feed of the Association of Music Podcasting at musicpodcasting.org.
This is AMT, and this is Hefevesent.
AMT, the official weekly update for the Association of Music Podcasting.
and was the submission to Amped by Peter Clitheroe of Suffolk & Cool.
Suffolkandcool.com, of course.
Peter tells us that this is from the album Pondlife Fiasco,
available on Jumendo, which was released way back in 2005
when records went round at 78 RPM and were made of shellac, really.
Hefevescent is essentially the solo project of Lancashire, UK-based Andy Duran.
Writing, performing and producing each track,
Pondlife Fiasco features this track,
which is the most downloaded on the ever-excellent Jumendo label.
You can have the whole album for yourself, for free, at Jumendo.
Hefevescent.com is where to find out more.
Yeah, welcome to Amped.
Nominally show 554, but the numbering isn't really relevant now,
as we've missed so many shows in the last few weeks.
I'd like to make a few announcements and requests
on behalf of the Association of Music Podcasting, Amped.
The podcast, the official weekly update for the Association of Music Podcasting,
or Amped as it's known, is taking a break.
It's the first in many years.
In fact, we aren't sure if we've ever had a hiatus.
Will we be back in the autumn or the fall for our American listeners?
We are incredibly grateful to you for listening
and we really look forward to bringing you more of the best new music on the planet
and to continuing to support independent artists,
the best way to know when we're coming back
is to make sure that you're subscribed to get automatic downloads
through iTunes or any other podcatcher.
I'll give you details at the end of the show.
In addition, you should soon be able to sign up to our inner circle
to get updates on our relaunch progress
and invitations to contribute to the revitalized Amped.
There'll be links on our homepage.
We'll be setting up a mailer for this, a listener mailing list for this,
and of course, we'd like to hear from you by email to webmaster at musicpodcasting.org
or add a comment to this episode.
Go to musicpodcasting.org and find episode 554.
So that's the announcement over.
We're so grateful to you listeners for staying with us
and we'll be back, maybe in the same form, maybe something different.
It's all about the music.
And to that end, here is the next track on this finale of the current Amped season.
I have this and four more tracks to play for you.
All were submitted by Amped members.
The next one comes from Ro Cutler's Dark Compass show, darkcompass.com.
This is Silver Bones with Raiders of the New World.
Raiders of the New World!
I denote a secret base
When all our long journeys end
We keep accumulating gold and silver in our chests
Steal and kill is our way
Blood and force the only law
We live and die by the sword
Like clans against the dark
They shall run for cover
As we're bound in the sea
We stand united
As we're lying in the raging storm
We stand united
With the victors on the loose
compressed air
Left at bay
We're never round again
We're always here
And make noamaan
Ever howl
Long live the day
In Авto 아니에요
Say goodbye

As we're bound in the sea

As we ride in the storm
Raiders of the New World
Terror from across the sea

Raiders of the New World
So let me have a fight
Raiders of the New World
That was Silver Bones with Raiders of the New World
with their new album Wild Waves
now out on Storm Spell Records
and a new wind in their sails
this Italian band's flavour of power metal
is a great crowd pleaser
with great tracks for head banging and fist pumping
Raiders of the Lost

Raiders of the New World
has a video which is available to stream on their website
which is

Oh, and by the way, we're on Twitter
at twitter.com slash musicpodcasting.
Starting off the second half of this AMT,
we have another Insomnia Radio track,
this time from The Daily Dose,
which recently reached something of a milestone.
It's a 3,000th daily free track
since we started.
It started in April 2008.
Our official name is Insomnia Radio Indie Music Network,
so I suppose it's fitting that this is a track
by an indie rock band about difficulty sleeping.
This is The Runaway Club with King-Sized Bed.
I, I'd be more comfortable on the floor
Every word I should not have said
I go over them in my head
A joker lies on this here king-sized bed
I, I just can't sleep at night anymore
I, dwell on a joke I told years ago
I, I just can't sleep at night anymore
Every word I should not have said
I go over them in my head
A joker lies on this here king-sized bed
I take nightmares
In prescription chemicals
Counting sheep that don't seem to be working anymore
I take nightmares
In prescription chemicals
Counting sheep that don't seem to be working anymore
The word I should not have said
I go over them in my head
I, I'd be more comfortable on the floor

Counting sheep that don't seem to be working anymore

The Runaway Club with King-Sized Bed

the Vancouver Canada based band
has just released the B-side
from the Runaway Club album Apollo
as a free download
therunawayclub.com is where to go
my colleague Charles played this
on the Daily Dose last week
and next we have the submission
from David Caroline of the Bugcast
thebugcast.org
this is the
upset victory with Signals
thebugcast.org
now it was the
upset victory with Signals
since the upset victory first emerged
from Cincinnati their uptempo
high energy brand of alt-pop
has resonated with the faithful following
the quintet shows no signs
of slowing down
this track was taken from the band's 2008
release
between the walls
and the worlds that sleep
thankfully the band are still
going strong with dates lined up
in July and August
theupsetvictory.com
is where to find out more details
and now it's last track time
on Amped
this is a submission from Nick Tan of
Is This Thing On which you'll find by going to
isthisthingonpodcast.com
Nick sent us a track
by the Blazing Rays of the Sun
and it's called
Closer
Closer to you
I wanna get more of what you got
I wanna get more of you
Just, just, just this wish
Just, just, just one kiss
Is all I need to know
Is all I want
Just love, don't think none of it
Just wanna get more of it
What I do for us
What I do, what I do
I would love to get you close
Take the time to take it slow
I need your love
I want just to get you close
To get you, get you
Love me, lead me where you will
I'll follow, fall in gear
Until you leave my love
You want me to get you, get you
Closer, closer to you
I'd better be more than what you got
I wanna be more for you
I wanna be it all
Don't be shy
Don't say
You got things to do
Cause I won't lie anymore
Not, not, not when I tell you
That I wanna get next to you
Next to you
I want love to be
Get you close
Take the time to take it slow
I need your love
I want just to get you, get you
Love me, lead me where you will
I'll follow, fall in gear
Until you leave my love
You want me to get you, get you
Closer, closer to you
Take the time to take it slow
I wanna get more of you
I want just to get you, get you
Closer, closer to you
Take the time to take it slow
I want love to be here
Until you leave my love
You want to get you, get you
Love me, lead me where you will
I just wanna know
I just wanna find out
How to get you close
Tell me how to love you
Tell me and I'll know
I just wanna know
Tell me how to love you
Los Angeles-based Blazing Rays of the Sun
just released their first record this year,
and this is the single.
An absolute gem of a track, this, says Nick,
which grows and develops into a beautiful crescendo.
For technical reasons, the show notes for this amp
will list this as my submission, but it's really Nick Tan's.
BlazingRays.com is where to find the band.
And with that, we've come to the end of this amp show.
Here's a reminder of what you heard.
We started with, from the UK, Hefevescent,
Deep Sea Diver, from Italy, Silver Bones,
with Raiders of the New World,
and again from the UK, Boys, with Nice Guys.
Then after the break, Canadian band The Runaway Club
with Kingsized Bed, from Cincinnati,
The Upset Victory with Signals,
and the last track was, from LA band,
The Blazing Rays of the Sun with Closer.
