Surround yourself with the magic.

Hello, and welcome to A Window to the Magic.

My name is Paul, and as always, I will be your guide through the wonderful world of Disney sound experiences.

This show is a weekly trip through the world of the Disney theme parks and resorts,

and this is the place where you get to use your ears to surround yourself with the magic.

A WINDOW TO THE MAGIC

Well, hello everyone, and welcome to another episode of the Window to the Magic podcast.

It's September, and that means that it's Halloween time at the Disneyland Resort.

Yep, that's right.

A little bit later on tonight, I'm going to be going over to Disney California Adventure

to enjoy and to record the Oogie Boogie Bash on opening night.

I'm going to be recording this.

I'm going to be offering it as a fundraiser on the show for supporters

and for those who contact me and want to get in on the fun.

So, if you are interested in hearing a little...

a long-form podcast, it's going to be probably five hours long or so,

encompassing everything that I do at the Oogie Boogie Bash,

then let me know.

Podcast at windowtothemagic.com is where you send the email.

And otherwise, if you're just going to listen on the public feed,

you will hear highlights during the first show of October.

But, that's then, this is now.

I'm going to go in the park because, as you heard from me earlier,

I am doing Where in the Park games in this particular year here, Season 20.

I asked you guys if you were interested in hearing some more Where in the Park games

and your answer was a resounding yes.

So, I am going to go in the park and do a Where in the Park game.

Okay.

This is, I'm not exactly sure where I'm going to end up today.

So, we'll see.

I know that this is going to be a long one.

I'm going to go ahead and toodle through the whole park

and we shall see exactly what we can do.

I know it looks like the jestem steak park,

but it looks like you can figure out how to fail at some point or other.

And I will jump right into it,

cause it was budget-wise going to go all the way out to Scottish get-c aime.

I wanted to give you guys one more chance and you have my girls on your side.

.

There we go.

.

If you're not sure where you want to go,

I'll let you know though.

.

I can take some guests over here while we make our assistance for our other friends.

Sorry.

It's okay.

Thank you.

Hello.

Perfect.

I'm glad.

Hi there.

They're good to go.

I hope you guys are coming through.

Thank you.

Have a good day.

Very helpful.

Okay.

And we are in.

What?

Oh.

She's not an idiot?

Yeah.

Oh.

She's not an idiot?

Yeah.

Oh.

I would say not.

Okay, well let's toodle down, or up Main Street, USA.

Now remember, I'm toodling through the park here.

I'm talking when I shouldn't be, but this is just to re-associate everyone with the

Where in the Park games.

I'm not going to tell you where I'm going, and you have to listen to the sounds of the

park, and figure out where it is I end up.

When I get to the final destination, I will let you know that I have reached the final

destination, and then I'll give you a minute or two to decide where we are.

And then we will go in and do...

Whatever it is we're going to do.

Depending on how I feel at the end, I may even make it a contest, where if you email

in the correct answer, you could win a prize.

So let's see.

Okay, let's go.

Let's go.

Come on!

Thank you for watching.

This cake of fruits was once so rare and valued that it was available only to kings.

That is, until about a century ago when a visionary came to our islands.

Jim Dole's idea of making our pineapple available to every family in America seemed, at the

time, an impossible dream.

But thanks to dedication and innovation, not only did his dream come true, but it grew

into the largest producer of fruit in the world.

Here in the islands, the pineapple is a symbol of hospitality.

That is why it is always a part of the traditional island feast we call pa'ina.

At a pa'ina, you'll always find a happy gathering of friends and family, known here

as Ohana.

During these celebrations, our Ohana shares laughter, stories, and favorite recipes.

And nothing brings out the taste of our tropical paradise like pineapple.

So from our Ohana to yours, we invite you to enjoy this king of fruits and a taste of

the islands forever you call home.

Aloha!

In the name of the Lord, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Amen.

And we wish you the best of luck and hope you do well in your own country.

Amen.

Ohana!

Alona!

Ohana!

My name is Maui. They just call me the mighty one. I came to play for some and gave my people to mine.

Now they set their clocks by mine. Why, I don't have time to stand in line.

But I will show you the world around me.

I am the mighty one. I am a mighty one.

I am a mighty one. I am a mighty one.

I guess, to be my magic feet no more, I had thought, but last night, all I think about

is being kind, so I grew up, when thumbs begin to pound, my head goes big now,

me rongo, god of agriculture, my land so good to me, I got time for sport,

I fly kite, me number one kite flyer, too bad, I no have key, than me, I find electricity,

so

I am

heavy, cause of fire and volcanoes, some say I tore my throat again, the earth fell

into, oh, when my wild temper rises, the earth trembles on its foundation,

some say I'm balancing the earth, but sad to say, I'm just hanging on,

I'm just hanging on, cold and bored.

I'm the one who's really sad, when I smile it comes out mad.

And I am here. What is the meaning?

We often travel together, wind and rain, through tropic lands across the seven seas.

Come closer, so that you may see what magic there is.

Thank you.

Excuse me.

Thank you.

Watch out, baby. Watch out. Watch out. Watch out.

I am Thangaua, father of all gods and goddesses.

Here in this land of enchantment, I appear before you as a mighty tree.

I am 10 Laugh, the fourth type of smellsけ

That angers you all all the time.

No feelings are allowed.

The sun strikes me off.

No feelings are allowed.

I am the light that surrounds you.

Ladies and gentlemen, come with us to a world of joy and suffering.

And one reason, one distance can change your thinking.

We have bought a great deal of room and space for you all.

We hope you have enjoyed this tour.

And if you have not yet, we hope you have enjoyed this tour.

I hope you have enjoyed this tour.

Thank you.

Welcome, everyone, to Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room.

While you're here, folks, we just ask that you refrain from any flash photography or smoking.

And, folks, if you need to exit at any time, please use those back exit doors.

Just give them a push, and you'll be all right.

What is this?

You know, my siestas are getting shorter and shorter.

Oh, look at all the people.

Welcome to Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room.

Hey, Michael, mi amigo, pay attention.

It's showtime.

So it is.

And what darling people I have sitting under me.

Pierre, you, Rascal, you, let's put on the show.

Mon ami, I am always ready, as you say, to put on the show.

Oh, pardon, madame.

That reserve is for my good friend, Fritz.

Ach, tu lieber.

I almost fell out of my number patch.

Glad to see you all aboard.

Sure.

Wherever you are.

My goodness.

You're all stale.

Oh, Marianas, we'd better start the show rolling.

Wait, wait.

We forgot to wake up the Glee Club.

In the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room.

All the birds sing the words and the flowers crow.

In the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room.

Welcome to our tropical hideaway.

We have key to keep her new.

If we want to...

We get her new.

And I think this goes nice.

We do.

We turn the audience to...

All together in the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room.

In the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room.

All the birds sing the words and the flowers crow.

In the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room.

I seem so beautiful, I should sing solo.

Say it solo?

Can't hear you.

My voice may not be so marvelous, but my profile is how it is supposed.

Your boy where the tongue is is not smart enough.

I don't know what you're talking about.

It's not right, Hemschmidt.

What do I see?

Shit, that's your hair.

Neil, you've got to stop the clock.

You sound like a bunch of old men.

There's a lot of work waiting to go on.

For instance...

The boys in the back are called McCall's.

Because of McCall's?

No, because they're McCall's.

And our fine-feathered friend is a jolly dude.

Can-man took it out better than what you can.

He birthed a paradise, it's an elegant birth.

He might be seen, and he must be heard.

Most evil parties should fly away,

but the creepy old birds are here every day.

In the ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky room,

in the ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky room,

all the birds sing words and the flowers grow.

In the ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky room,

all my days of self-production have yet to come.

Those from the guitar and beaty drum.

We've been a hit, and we know you at all.

We've got a song to monetize, it's in another part.

In the ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky room,

in the ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky room,

all my days of self-production have yet to come.

In the ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky room,

In the ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky room,

In the ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky room.

Let's give the little birdies a great big hand.

We are done.

Good luck.

You're done.

You're done there, with Lord Ant.

And now, senors and senoritas, please raise your eyes into the center of the room that is.

We present the enchanted fountain.

Ach, ja, and the wonderful bird movie.

It has birds on it, and it goes round and round.

And that's how you call a bird movie.

Look, here come the birds.

Madame and Monsieur.

J'ai plus deux films de larvités d'hier entendu ensemble.

Just like these funny birds here with all their feathers.

Those collect.

Alors, verres lèbres.

At this point, that is once a week.

And as we continue our way through,

season 20, we are releasing videos

from back in the first couple of years

of Window to the Magic.

When our videos were standard definition,

we've upgraded a bunch of them to high definition

and we are re-releasing them as part of our celebration.

And that includes, on the first Sunday of every month,

another episode of the Perfect Day at Disneyland series

from Mouseketeer Greg and the Mice.

Mouseketeer Greg went back and found the original source files

for all of his videos and has re-exported them

using today's technology.

He went in, he made some small adjustments,

things he couldn't do back then that always bugged him.

And he has re-released them,

given them to me, and we're sharing them with you.

So on the first Sunday of every month,

at 12 noon Pacific, you'll get another episode

of a Perfect Day at Disneyland.

Those videos, for those of you that don't know,

came out 20 years ago.

So it's a great way to look back at Disneyland

from two decades ago and to enjoy the park

as it was when Window to the Magic began.

So be sure to join us again,

in two weeks, when we'll be coming to you once again,

sharing more of my trip to Walt Disney World

that I just took in July.

More highlights and more storytelling,

and I think you're going to enjoy it.

But for now, this has been Window to the Magic,

the ultimate Disney audio adventure.

Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for listening.

Now it's time for Oogie Boogie Bash.

That's where I'm going.

And I will see you next time.

Thank you, Linda.

You have a good night now.

Some days you eat the bear,

and some days the bear eats you.

But always dress for the hunt!

Kungaloos!

That's right, Oogie Boogie. I'll be right there.
