Elle, c'est Amélie, et voici son histoire.

She is Amélie, and here is her story.

Tout a commencé un vendredi soir.

It all started on a Friday evening.

Amélie était seule, car ses parents étaient partis fumer une cigarette.

Amélie was alone because her parents had gone out to smoke a cigarette.

Amélie avait passé une journée assez fatigante,

Amélie had had a pretty tiring day,

et elle a refusé la demande de sa mère qui lui disait

and she refused her mother's request who was telling her

« Viens avec nous faire une petite balade,

"Come with us for a little walk,"

elle n'aurait jamais dû refuser. »

"She should never have refused."

Vers 17h15, elle a commencé à entendre un sifflement.

Around 5:15 PM, she started to hear a whistle.

Elle ne s'est donc pas inquiétée.

She didn't worry, then.

Pourtant, elle aurait dû.

Yet, she should have.

Au bout de cinq minutes, le sifflement commençait à l'agacer.

After five minutes, the whistling started to annoy him.

Donc elle décida d'ouvrir la fenêtre pour lui demander d'arrêter le sifflement.

So she decided to open the window to ask him to stop whistling.

En ouvrant son volet, elle ne vit personne.

Upon opening her shutter, she saw no one.

Donc elle décida de fermer la fenêtre.

So she decided to close the window.

Et d'un coup, elle entendit d'une voix glaçante.

And suddenly, she heard a chilling voice.

« Toi là ! »

"Hey you!"

Ayant que 13 ans, elle eut peur.

At only 13 years old, she was scared.

Ne sachant pas quoi faire, elle se saisit de son ciseau

Not knowing what to do, she grabbed her scissors.

et alla dans son salon voir s'il y avait quelqu'un, mais personne.

And she went into her living room to see if there was anyone, but no one was there.

Amélie appelle donc sa mère pour lui demander si elle était rentrée puis ressortie.

Amélie then calls her mother to ask her if she had come home and then gone out again.

Mais non.

But no.

Donc elle raccrocha et va dans sa chambre.

So she hung up and went to her room.

Et ferme sa porte à clé, paralysée, jusqu'à ce que sa mère revienne.

And locks her door, paralyzed, until her mother returns.

En rentrant, elle ne disait rien.

On the way back, she said nothing.

Après quelques jours, sa mère part conduire son paupère qui travaillait assez loin et qui n'a pas de permis.

After a few days, his mother leaves to drive his grandfather who worked quite far away and does not have a driver's license.

Il était 6h05 de matin.

It was 6:05 in the morning.

Quand sa mère quitta la maison, elle dormait paisiblement.

When her mother left the house, she was sleeping peacefully.

Elle aurait entendu le même sifflement que les jours précédents.

She would have heard the same whistle as in previous days.

Elle se réveilla en panique et ne pouvait plus bouger.

She woke up in a panic and could no longer move.
