Oui, alors le Petit Ballon, c'est une entreprise qui a aujourd'hui 11 ans.

Elle est sortie de la tête de mon associé Martin, Martin Vanessian.

She came out of my partner Martin's head, Martin Vanessian.

En gros, on allait avoir 30 ans.

Basically, we were going to be 30 years old.

Il ne s'y connaissait pas du tout en vin, il en buvait pas mal

He didn't know anything about wine; he drank quite a lot of it.

et il ne savait pas différencier un Bordeaux d'un Bourgogne.

and he could not differentiate a Bordeaux from a Burgundy.

Et donc il s'est dit qu'il ne devait peut-être pas le seul.

And so he thought that maybe he shouldn't be the only one.

Et tout ce qu'il avait un peu rencontré, tout ce qu'il avait regardé en fait,

And everything he had encountered a little, everything he had actually looked at,

n'était pas drôle, vieux, compliqué, pas funky.

wasn't funny, old, complicated, not funky.

Et donc l'idée est venue de créer une approche un peu ludique et sympa autour du vin.

Et donc le Petit Ballon, c'est l'envie d'arriver à trouver une approche plaisir autour du vin

Ça émane, en fait, d'une volonté, tout d'abord, des dirigeants, enfin, de nous,

Parce que c'était une démarche des dirigeants, mais surtout aussi poussée par les salariés,

Et dans le cadre de la stratégie impact qu'on a voulu mettre en place,

Donc, c'est comme ça qu'on a décidé de lancer ce bilan carbone

qui a été fait au Petit Ballon il y a presque quasiment deux ans.

Pourquoi vous avez le choix aussi de rendre cette empreinte publique ?

Vous auriez pu la faire dans votre coin et juste essayer de réduire dans votre coin.

You could have done it in your own corner and just tried to cut back in your own space.

Qu'est-ce qui vous a motivé à communiquer là-dessus ?

What motivated you to communicate about this?

Alors, l'entreprise qui nous a aidé, la Magellan,

So, the company that helped us, Magellan,

une boîte de conseil également qui nous a aidé à faire ça,

a consulting firm that also helped us do this,

ils se sont retrouvés confrontés au fait qu'il n'y a pas beaucoup de données dans le monde du vin,

they found themselves confronted with the fact that there is not much data in the world of wine,

qu'ils ont dû faire des calculs, essayer de comprendre,

that they must have done calculations, tried to understand,

basé sur les chiffres de l'ADEME en l'occurrence,

based on the figures from ADEME in this case,

et pas mal de suppositions pour arriver à faire ce bilan.

and quite a few assumptions to arrive at this assessment.

Donc, en fait, on s'est rendu compte qu'il n'y avait pas grand-chose qui existait en termes de modèle.

So, in fact, we realized that there wasn't much that existed in terms of a model.

On a dû travailler avec des vignerons,

We had to work with winemakers,

on a dû essayer de leur faire prendre conscience,

we had to try to make them aware,

on a essayé de calculer avec eux.

we tried to calculate with them.

Donc, on a pris certains vignerons avec qui on a creusé pour avoir des réponses

So, we spoke with some winemakers to get answers.

qui sont bien sûr, somme toute, théoriques et qui peuvent être challengées à chaque fois.

et c'est comme ça qu'on a voulu travailler.

And that's how we wanted to work.

Et voilà, donc ça a été main dans la main avec certains vignerons

qu'on avait choisis, qui ont passé du temps avec nous

Et comment vous les avez choisis ces vignerons ?

C'était selon la taille du domaine, selon leur localisation ?

Alors, ils n'ont pas toujours été au même endroit.

So, they haven't always been in the same place.

Donc, c'est ça qui est intéressant, c'est que c'est des vignerons un peu différents.

So, what's interesting is that these are somewhat different winegrowers.

Après, c'est des vignerons avec qui on travaille depuis longtemps,

dont on a la confiance.

Eux, ils nous connaissent bien, ils ont envie d'avancer avec nous.

Et on voit que ces vignerons avec qui on a bossé

Et surtout, ils ont continué à nous pousser en disant

And above all, they kept pushing us by saying

Et donc, ça, c'était hyper intéressant de voir que nous,

Dire que quand il y a un bilan carbone, il y a le cercle premier, c'est ça ?
