Nix hésita à fermer les yeux. Le spectacle s'annonçait violent.

Elle leva le bras en l'air, prête à frapper l'agent de la corpe qui n'avait pas le temps d'esquiver.

She raised her arm in the air, ready to strike the body agent who didn't have time to dodge.

Puis son visage se figea, son corps fut pris d'un spasme et l'ange s'effondra au sol.

Then his face froze, his body was seized by a spasm, and the angel collapsed to the ground.

L'homme se retourna, dévoilant un petit dispositif dans sa main. Un boîtier chromé muni d'une gâchette rouge.

Nix dégaina le LX-24 qu'il avait gardé dans sa poche et tira en plein dans le mille.

Nix drew the LX-24 that he had kept in his pocket and shot dead on target.

Le bouclier de l'agent vira du verre au rouge en un coup.

The agent's shield turned from glass to red in an instant.

Pas mal pour un LX.

Not bad for an LX.

L'homme leva son arme et la pointa sur Nix.

The man raised his weapon and aimed it at Nix.

Les deux adversaires se fixèrent, sachant très bien que le premier à tirer tuerait l'autre.

The two adversaries stared at each other, fully aware that the first to shoot would kill the other.

Une tension palpable avait envahi la pièce.

A palpable tension had filled the room.

Je peux vous proposer un deal ?

Can I offer you a deal?

Lança finalement l'homme.

Finally launched the man.

De sa main gauche, il pointa une bandelette orange sur les épaulières de son uniforme bleu, indiquant son rang d'officier.

With his left hand, he pointed to an orange stripe on the shoulder pads of his blue uniform, indicating his rank as an officer.

Ça m'intéresse pas.

I'm not interested.

Ce n'est pas à toi que je parle, gamin.

I'm not talking to you, kid.

Derrière Nix, dans la cuisine, le capitaine avait fait irruption.

Behind Nix, in the kitchen, the captain had burst in.

Un bandage de fortune recouvrait le moignon de son bras droit.

A makeshift bandage covered the stump of his right arm.

Le pansement était soigneusement posé.

The bandage was carefully applied.

Il avait dû passer par la salle de contrôle pour les rejoindre.

He must have gone through the control room to join them.

Le capitaine passa à côté de lui, sans le regarder, et tendit sa main gauche.

The captain walked past him, without looking at him, and extended his left hand.

Avec réductance, Nix posa son LX dans la main de Stein.

With reluctance, Nix placed his LX in Stein's hand.

Diplomatiquement, l'agent baissa son arme.

Diplomatically, the agent lowered his weapon.

Remarqua Stein en pointant le menton vers ses épaulettes.

Stein remarked, pointing his chin towards his epaulettes.

Nix voulut protester, mais Stein le fit taire d'un geste de la main.

Collin s'activa son communicateur, et un rayon lumineux scanna le capitaine.

Collin activated his communicator, and a beam of light scanned the captain.

You therefore understand my reluctance to cooperate.

L'homme acquiesça.

The man nodded.

Puis il pointa du doigt l'ange, inconsciente sur le sol.

Then he pointed at the angel, unconscious on the ground.

Mais rien de ce que vous avez coûté à notre organisation n'arrive à la cheville de ce que représente cet atout.

But nothing that you have cost our organization comes close to what this asset represents.

Nix serra les dents.

Nix will grit their teeth.

Ce n'est pas un atout, c'est quelqu'un.

Stein réfléchit un instant.

Son cri résonna un instant dans l'infirmerie.

Her scream echoed for a moment in the infirmary.

Il reprit, plus calmement, mais toujours sévère.

Nix serra le poing de toutes ses forces, impuissant et trahi.

Le capitaine bougea son moignon.

Celle qu'on a capturée.

The one we captured.

L'homme réfléchit un instant, sans tourner la tête.

The man contemplated for a moment, without turning his head.

Vous pouvez la garder.

It's cannon fodder.

C'est tout ce que je voulais entendre.

Le capitaine leva son bras gauche, pointa le Helix 24 à la nuque de Collins, et tira.

The captain raised his left arm, aimed the Helix 24 at Collins' neck, and shot.

Un bout de cervelle vint s'éclater contre la joue de Nix, qui observait la scène,

Stein se tourna vers lui, et haussa les épaules.

En quittant l'infirmerie, le capitaine donna un dernier ordre.

L'ange écarquilla grand ses yeux, comme si le concept de présentation lui était absolument

La jeune femme fronça les sourcils, regardant dans le vide.

Ses grands yeux rouges se plongèrent alors dans les petits yeux bruns du jeune homme.
