Ce qui m'a amenée à avoir un poste à la télé locale.

This led me to have a position at the local television.

De Drummondville, donc à Télécogeco, à Drummondville, là-bas.

J'ai animé pendant deux, trois ans, je crois,

I hosted for two or three years, I believe.

des émissions qui portaient sur l'actualité, différents sujets.

J'avais un peu carte blanche, je te dirais.

Donc, ça a été vraiment une belle école à ce niveau-là.

Et mon émission n'était pas en nombre l'été.

Donc, moi, l'été, on me disait, bien, retourne chez toi au chômage,

So, during the summer, they would tell me, well, go back home and be unemployed,

puis on se revoit en septembre.

Then we'll see each other again in September.

Donc, ça faisait pas vraiment mon affaire d'être chez nous sur le chômage.

So, it didn't really suit me to be at home on unemployment.

Alors, je suis allée cogner à la radio locale.

So, I went to knock on the local radio station.

J'ai commencé à faire la radio, c'était à CKBN.

I started doing radio at CKBN.

Ça s'appelle Via, aujourd'hui, 95, si ma mémoire est bonne.

It's called Via, today, 95, if my memory serves me right.

Donc, c'est une radio locale qui est à Bécancour.

So, it's a local radio station in Bécancour.

Et j'ai fait du journalisme là-bas comme remplaçante.

And I did journalism there as a substitute.

J'ai été animatrice comme remplaçante.

I was a substitute facilitator.

Donc, encore là, j'ai touché à plusieurs trucs.

So, again, I touched on several things.

Et quand je suis revenue en septembre à Drummondville,

And when I came back to Drummondville in September,

je suis allée cogner chez Rouge FM et Énergie,

I went to knock on the door of Rouge FM and Énergie,

qui sont les radios là-bas, en disant,

who are the radios over there, saying,

« Hé, moi, j'ai fait de la radio,

"Hey, me, I did radio,"

cet été, si jamais vous avez besoin de quelqu'un pour remplacer,

this summer, if you ever need someone to cover for you,

ça va me faire plaisir. »

Et à un bon moment donné, un vendredi, début d'après-midi,

on m'appelle.

Le gars qui faisait l'émission du matin, le week-end,

The guy who did the morning show on the weekend,

venait d'être hospitalisé, là, je ne sais pas trop.

Donc, là, il était comme,

« On a besoin de quelqu'un pour rentrer à 6 heures demain matin. »

"We need someone to come in at 6 o'clock tomorrow morning."

Eux, ils ont pris en considération que je leur avais dit

que j'avais fait de la radio.

Donc, ils m'ont quand même un peu expliqué les grandes lignes.

So, they still explained the main points to me a bit.

Et là, je me suis rendue compte que la radio locale

And then, I realized that the local radio

et la radio commerciale, c'était deux mondes complètement différents.

And commercial radio, it was two completely different worlds.

Les équipements, en tout cas, du moins à l'époque,

ils n'étaient pas les mêmes du tout, la console.

Je pensais d'une console à peine de pitons

I was thinking of a console with barely any buttons.

Donc, ma première expérience à la radio commerciale

Donc, j'ai fait mon intro de show.

Puis après, bien, il n'y a comme eu rien.

Then afterwards, well, there was like nothing.

Et...

And...

Genre la cassette, rien.

Like the tape, nothing.

C'est ça, en fait, il faut savoir qu'il y a tout le temps un CD.

C'est vraiment un CD.

Je ne sais pas si c'est encore comme ça aujourd'hui

Fait que je pense que tout est correct.

Je trouve que je ne parle pas bien souvent.

Mais qu'est-ce que tu veux, tu sais, c'est la première fois.

Alors là, je sors du studio et j'entends l'alarme.

So there I am, I just left the studio and I hear the alarm.

Et là, je me mets à paniquer parce que là, je me dis,

On s'est-tu fait défoncer?

Did we get really messed up?

Pourquoi il y a une alarme comme ça?

Alors, j'ai été obligée d'appeler mon boss à l'époque

So, I had to call my boss at the time.

à comme 6h15, genre un samedi matin.

At around 6:15, like on a Saturday morning.

Puis là, il y a une alarme, qu'est-ce que je fais?

Bien là, c'est qu'il y a un blanc en ondes.

Ça a commencé comme ça, ma carrière à la radio.

C'est ça, j'ai vraiment appris sur le tas.

Je pense que qu'est-ce qui fait que je suis encore là aujourd'hui

parce que ça fait 12-13 ans et je suis encore dans l'univers de la radio.

Je suis toujours remplaçante ici à Trois-Rivières,

une émission qui s'appelait La vie en Mauricie.

a show called Life in Mauricie.

Donc, je faisais du remplacement.

So, I was substituting.

J'ai fait du remplacement à TVA aussi comme Miss Météo.

I also substituted at TVA as Miss Weather.

Ça m'a amenée à avoir le poste comme Miss Météo

It led me to get the job as Miss Weather.

à TVA Trois-Rivières.

Donc, avant de tomber enceinte et d'avoir mon garçon en 2018,

So, before getting pregnant and having my boy in 2018,

c'est ce que je faisais.

I used to do the weather at TVA Trois-Rivières,

puis je faisais aussi, je travaillais sur l'émission

Tout ça pour dire que pendant mon congé maternité,

All that to say is that during my maternity leave,

on est déménagé en Chine.

We moved to China.

Mon conjoint, qui est un pilote professionnel,

My partner, who is a professional pilot,

de Freestyle Motocross, a travaillé pendant sept ans

from Freestyle Motocross, worked for seven years

dans un gros spectacle de cirque à Macao, en Chine.

in a big circus show in Macau, China.

Macao, c'est comme un peu le Vegas de l'Asie.

Macao is kind of like the Vegas of Asia.

Fait que t'sais, t'as la strip avec tous les gros hôtels,

So you know, you've got the strip with all the big hotels,

les casinos, il y a plein de spectacles.

Casinos have plenty of shows.

Donc, il y avait un numéro de motocross dans le spectacle.

So, there was a motocross number in the show.

Alors, Ben était dans le numéro pendant plusieurs années.

So, Ben was in the number for several years.

Donc, on est déménagé là-bas pendant quelques mois.

So, we moved over there for a few months.

Et c'est vraiment là que, je te dirais,

And it's really there that I would tell you,

s'est développée ma passion, oui, pour les voyages,

my passion has developed, yes, for travel,

parce que j'avais vraiment jamais voyagé avant ça,

because I had really never traveled before that,

mais aussi pour les réseaux sociaux,

Et je l'avais dit, c'était elle en mon affaire.

Et quand on est revenus, c'était clair pour moi

que je retournais pas à TVA ni à la radio

that I was not going back to TVA nor to the radio

parce que j'étais vraiment passionnée.

Je donnais mon 100 %, et là, j'avais plus de 100 %

à donner pour ça, vu que c'était mon enfant,

Maintenant, qui avait pris comme la place
