Aujourd'hui, je vais te parler de mon histoire.

Today, I am going to tell you about my story.

J'y ai vécu un an, donc je n'ai pas trop de souvenirs.

Mon père est gendarme et ma mère assistante maternelle.

Et après deux ans, donc à Lyon, mon frère naît.

Donc j'ai un frère qui est deux ans plus jeune que moi.

So I have a brother who is two years younger than me.

À cette époque-là, pour te mettre un peu déjà dans le contexte,

alors je me rends compte que ce n'est pas forcément hyper important,

so I realize that it's not necessarily super important,

mais le climat familial est rempli d'amour, donc tout se passe bien.

Mon père est un peu dur, en particulier avec moi, parce que je suis l'aîné.

Mais voilà, finalement, ce n'est pas forcément quelque chose de très important.

Parce que je pense aussi qu'il y a eu son éducation à lui qui a été vraiment très dure,

Enfin, connaissant mon grand-père, je pense que mon père a vraiment été éduqué à la dure.

Et c'est donc pour ça que j'ai eu des périodes où ça n'allait pas forcément.

Et mon père, qui était un peu dur avec moi,

Quand même, grâce à mon père, j'ai beaucoup voyagé.

Du coup, vu qu'il est gendarme, il a pu être muté.

Il a pu avoir le choix de partir à l'étranger.

Enfin, à l'étranger, les dom-toms, quoi.

Donc, mon premier voyage, ça a été assez jeune.

So, my first trip was at quite a young age.

Nous sommes partis en Nouvelle-Calédonie pendant 4 ans.

We left for New Caledonia for 4 years.

Donc, j'étais à l'école primaire, à cette époque-là.

So, I was in primary school at that time.

J'ai quand même quelques souvenirs.

I still have a few memories.

C'était vraiment de la folie.

Pour t'imager la chose, on a habité pendant 2 ans

dans un petit bled complètement paumé qui s'appelle Touaux.

Vraiment, à la Nouvelle-Calédonie, c'est quand même assez grand.

Et c'était à 4 heures de route de la grande ville de la capitale,

qui était Nouméa, dans laquelle, après, on a vécu 2 ans, aussi.

et se retrouver sur un kayak au milieu des coraux.

Mon père a acheté un bateau à cette époque-là.

Donc, on a vraiment pu partir, entre guillemets, à l'aventure

sur les îlots autour de chez nous.

C'était vraiment incroyable.

Je te dis ça, mais je ne crois même pas que tu te rendes compte

du truc de fou que j'ai vécu.

Même moi, je crois que je ne me rends pas trop compte.

Mais ouais, c'était incroyable.

Voilà, eau turquoise, climat tropical et les gens sont chaleureux.

J'étais jeune, donc je n'ai pas pu réellement profiter à fond

Mais du coup, ça a été un peu compliqué.

Donc ça, c'est toujours mon cas.

Mais j'étais extrêmement timide.

Donc voilà, j'étais jeune et très innocent.

Et ce n'était pas plus mal au final.

Et donc voilà, tout se passait très bien.

Même si au final, on va commencer à rentrer dans le vif du sujet.

J'avais des difficultés scolaires.

I had academic difficulties.

Qui commençaient à arriver tranquillement.

Voilà, au fur et à mesure, ça devenait normal.

Je prenais ça comme acquis, disons.

En fait, j'ai essayé.

En fait, très rapidement, j'avais certainement des difficultés à l'école.

Mais il y avait tellement de pression par rapport aux profs et mes parents aussi.

But there was so much pressure from the teachers and my parents as well.

Alors, il faut savoir que bon, tout ce que je vais dire là,

je l'assume complètement et je suis totalement en accord avec ça.

Il n'y a pas de souci.

Donc, oui, j'avais des difficultés à l'école.

Le fait que mes parents me mettaient un peu la pression.

Parce que c'est normal quand tu as ton enfant qui a du mal à retenir les leçons.

Qui a du mal à avoir de bonnes notes.

Et tes parents, ils se mettent un peu le stress.

Du coup, ils essayent un peu de te pousser.

So they try to push you a little.

Du coup, mes parents étaient souvent derrière mon dos.

So, my parents were often behind my back.

Et ça me mettait encore plus la pression.

Parce qu'ils ne voulaient pas que leur fils se retrouve un peu comme une larve là.

Because they didn't want their son to end up a bit like a slug there.

Qui ne savent rien faire.

Who can do nothing.

Qui ne connaissent rien.

Who know nothing.

Donc, voilà.

Et puis après, ça a très facilement permis à moi de me la mettre tout seul tout le temps.

And then after that, it easily allowed me to do it all by myself all the time.

En fait, j'avais cet état d'esprit.

In fact, I had that mindset.

Où j'étais extrêmement timide.

Je me répétais que j'étais mauvais à l'école.

I kept telling myself that I was bad at school.

J'étais nul.

I was useless.

Alors qu'en soit, ce n'était pas forcément le cas.

While that being the case, it wasn't necessarily so.

Mais c'était juste...

Il suffisait d'une petite goutte.

It only took a small drop.

Une petite étincelle.

A small spark.

Pour que moi, j'en fasse des tonnes.

So that I can go overboard.

Dans mon esprit.

In my mind.

Et que je parte du principe que...

C'était d'une ampleur tellement...

Je me souviens, c'était d'une ampleur tellement phénoménale.

C'est-à-dire que des fois, j'arrivais...

Une après-midi, je devais juste faire des exercices.

One afternoon, I just had to do some exercises.

Et mes parents étaient un peu derrière moi.

Et ça partait en vrille.

J'y arrivais pas.

I couldn't do it.

Je me mettais la pression.

I was putting pressure on myself.

Je me mettais dans tous mes états.

Ça me rendait fou.

It drove me crazy.

Ça arrivait à des stades de fou.

It was happening at insane levels.

Donc, c'était vraiment...

Ça en premier.

Mes parents qui se mettaient la pression.

My parents who were putting pressure on themselves.

Je me répétais à chaque fois que j'étais incapable.

I kept telling myself that I was incapable.

Que je n'étais pas capable d'apprendre les sons.

That I was not able to learn the sounds.

Certes, je n'avais pas forcément des facilités.

Certainly, I didn't necessarily have an easy time.

Après ça...

C'est des excuses en réalité.

Je m'en rends compte aujourd'hui.

Mais tout est une excuse.

But everything is an excuse.

C'est sûr que si tu pars du principe que tu as des difficultés.

Forcément, ça ne va pas être facile.

Donc après, tout est une question de point de vue.

Et qu'à un moment donné, il faut bosser aussi.

Et ce n'était pas forcément ma passion.

Les cours.

The classes.

L'école.

The school.

Tout ça.

All of that.

Disons que j'avais du mal à trouver ça agréable.

Ça peut se comprendre.

C'était mon point de vue.

Et je préférais abandonner.

Ce qui me rendait encore moins bon.

Et ça devient de plus en plus dur de réavancer.
