Ça remonte à il y a très longtemps finalement

parce que j'ai toujours été passionné par le dessin, par l'architecture

Donc très tôt j'ai commencé à dessiner

et le nom Dr Pepper en fait il est venu à la fac.

C'est un camarade d'amphithéâtre qui m'a donné ce surnom.

En fait j'étais tout le temps avec un scalpel à faire des petites découpes minutieuses

et ce côté minutieux et l'utilisation du scalpel en fait m'a valu ce nom-là.

And that meticulous side and the use of the scalpel earned me that name.

Donc je le remercie toujours parce que j'ai gardé ce surnom

et c'est devenu mon nom d'artiste avec le temps.

Et même si je me suis un petit peu éloigné de la découpe de papier

Et mes parents et mes grands-parents sont de Nantes.

My parents and my grandparents are from Nantes.

Avec ma femme on a voulu partir de Paris

My wife and I wanted to leave Paris.

et du coup on est venu à Nantes.

So we came to Nantes.

Il y a plus de 15 ans maintenant.

Donc nantaire, on va dire, d'adoption autour aux sources.

Donc j'essaye de raconter sous forme d'illustration toute l'histoire.

So I try to tell the whole story in the form of illustrations.

Y mettre plein de petits détails, des anecdotes, des dates,

des moments forts de chaque client avec qui j'ai l'occasion de travailler.

Et ça, j'aime bien mettre plein, plein de détails en fait.

Alors, je parlais justement de l'oeuvre avec les Galeries Lafayette.

On ne peut pas la louper évidemment quand on va en centre-ville.

C'est quoi la genèse de ce projet ?

Et puis, c'est ce que...

C'est ce que tu viens de dire, qui transpire à travers cette oeuvre ?

Oui, tout à fait.

C'est une oeuvre que j'ai appelée Lafayette Ville.

It is a work that I have called Lafayette City.

C'est une ville que j'ai recréée à partir de l'histoire des galeries.

It's a city that I recreated from the history of the galleries.

Donc, je suis allé aux archives des Galeries Lafayette à Boulevard Haussmann, à Paris,

So, I went to the archives of Galeries Lafayette on Boulevard Haussmann, in Paris,

pour récupérer plein d'informations, un maximum d'informations

to gather a lot of information, as much information as possible

sur l'évolution des logos, des slogans,

on the evolution of logos, slogans,

et puis bien entendu des architectures qui sont très fortes,

and then of course very strong architectures,

très marquées pour tous les Galeries Lafayette à Paris,

very prominent for all the Galeries Lafayette in Paris,

à Nantes avec l'évolution de Decrès aussi en simultané,

et en France et un petit peu à l'étranger.

Et Lafayette Ville, finalement, cette oeuvre, c'est un mélange de tout ça.

Donc, il y a beaucoup, beaucoup de détails.

Et l'oeuvre en elle-même, l'oeuvre qui est assez monumentale,

c'est sur les trois étages du magasin,

au niveau des escalators.

Et donc, j'ai pris possession des escalators

Et ensuite, toi, tu as apporté ta touche

et tu as tout mis en scène, c'est ça ?
