Oui, avec plaisir.
Yes, gladly.
Bonjour Maëlys, en tout cas, je suis ravie d'être là.
Hello Maëlys, anyway, I am delighted to be here.
Moi, j'ai appris tardivement ma grossesse.
I learned about my pregnancy late.
J'étais presque à 3 mois de grossesse quand j'ai appris que j'étais enceinte.
I was almost 3 months pregnant when I found out I was expecting.
J'ouvrais un bureau en Afrique du Sud, à Cape Town,
I was opening an office in South Africa, in Cape Town.
et je l'ai appris là-bas, au bout du monde.
And I learned it there, at the end of the world.
C'était étrange pour moi de me projeter dans la vie de maman.
It was strange for me to envision myself in my mother's life.
Et sans détour, je ne pensais pas que je serais une bonne mère,
And bluntly, I didn't think I would be a good mother,
je ne pensais pas que c'était quelque chose pour moi,
I didn't think it was something for me,
je ne me voyais pas trop dans ça.
I didn't see myself too much in that.
Et en fait, quand j'ai appris que j'étais enceinte,
And in fact, when I found out I was pregnant,
il n'y a pas une seconde qui s'est passée, ça n'a jamais été un doute.
Not a second has passed, it has never been a doubt.
Il était certain que je devais avoir ce bébé.
He was certain that I had to have this baby.
Et en réalité, ça a complètement changé ma perspective.
And in reality, it completely changed my perspective.
Aujourd'hui, non seulement j'adore mon fils, mais j'adore tous les enfants en général.
Today, not only do I love my son, but I love all children in general.
Je me trouve en fait très maternelle.
I actually find myself very motherly.
Donc voilà, moi ça n'a pas du tout été une question.
So there you go, for me it has not been a question at all.
Je me suis dit, je vais faire un bébé.
I told myself, I'm going to have a baby.
Je vais faire un bébé.
I am going to have a baby.
Cette journée-là, je l'ai appris un matin que j'étais enceinte
That day, I learned one morning that I was pregnant.
et j'enchaînais des gros rendez-vous très stratégiques à Cape Town.
And I was chaining important strategic meetings in Cape Town.
Et j'étais dans le taxi qui m'emmenait à mes rendez-vous
And I was in the taxi that was taking me to my appointments.
et je ne m'étais jamais sentie...
and I had never felt...
Je me rappelle m'être dit, je ne me suis jamais sentie aussi puissante.
I remember telling myself, I have never felt so powerful.
J'avais l'impression d'être invincible.
I felt invincible.
J'arrivais avec...
I was arriving with...
Et je le voyais en fait, j'impactais vraiment les gens
And I could actually see it, I was truly impacting people.
et j'avais ce pouvoir qui était en moi.
and I had this power that was within me.
Et je le sentais, j'obtenais tout ce que je voulais.
And I felt it, I was getting everything I wanted.
C'était assez magique, cette journée-là.
It was quite magical, that day.
Et toi Caroline ?
And you, Caroline?
Alors moi, la question déjà d'être maman,
So for me, the question of being a mom,
ce n'est jamais posé.
It has never been established.
Pour moi, c'était une évidence.
For me, it was obvious.
Je rêvais d'avoir des enfants.
I dreamed of having children.
C'était même si je voulais travailler,
It was even if I wanted to work,
si je voulais avoir une carrière.
if I wanted to have a career.
J'avais de l'ambition.
I had ambition.
Je n'étais pas carriériste, mais j'avais de l'ambition.
I wasn't career-minded, but I had ambition.
Mais en tout cas, je devais avoir les deux.
But in any case, I had to have both.
Des enfants et un métier qui me plairait.
Children and a job that would please me.
Et en fait, moi, ma boîte, c'est un peu particulier
And in fact, for me, my company is a bit particular.
parce que je l'ai montée après avoir eu déjà trois enfants.
because I had her after already having three children.
Donc c'était un cheminement différent d'être entrepreneuse
So it was a different journey to be an entrepreneur.
et gérer une famille qui déjà s'auto-gérait en quelque sorte
and manage a family that was already somewhat self-managing
parce que...
because...
parce que mes enfants étaient sortis de la petite enfance.
because my children had outgrown early childhood.
Mais ce qui a été très particulier,
But what was very special,
c'est qu'au moment où j'ai lancé ma boîte,
it was when I started my business,
je suis retombée enceinte assez tardivement
I became pregnant again quite late.
d'une petite fille qui n'était pas prévue.
of a little girl who was not expected.
Et là, ça a été un vrai chamboulement.
And there, it was a real upheaval.
Et là où je te rejoins complètement, Inès,
And where I completely agree with you, Inès,
c'est que moi, ma toute première grossesse,
it's that for me, my very first pregnancy,
j'ai eu ce sentiment de puissance totale.
I had this feeling of total power.
J'avais l'impression que j'étais protégée,
I had the feeling that I was protected,
invincible, que plus rien ne pouvait m'arriver.
invincible, that nothing could happen to me anymore.
Et en revanche, pour cette quatrième grossesse,
And on the other hand, for this fourth pregnancy,
alors que pourtant j'en avais déjà eu trois précédentes,
even though I had already had three before,
en sachant que je montais ma boîte en même temps,
knowing that I was starting my business at the same time,
ça m'a totalement fragilisée.
It completely shattered me.
C'est-à-dire, je me suis dit, je n'arriverai pas
That is to say, I told myself, I won't make it.
à la fois à gérer ma boîte et gérer ce quatrième bébé.
both managing my business and managing this fourth baby.
Et donc, ça a été tout un travail
And so, it was quite a job.
pendant cette grossesse-là assez particulier
during that rather unusual pregnancy
pour parvenir à concilier les deux.
to reconcile the two.
Et puis au final, je pense que j'ai réussi, ouais.
And in the end, I think I succeeded, yeah.
Et toi, Anouk, de ton côté ?
And you, Anouk, on your side?
Alors moi, je pense qu'entrepreneur ou non,
So for me, I think whether you're an entrepreneur or not,
on n'est jamais prêt pour le bébé.
We are never ready for the baby.
Surtout moi, quand on m'avait annoncé
Especially me, when I was told
un long processus pour tomber enceinte,
a long process to get pregnant,
notamment à cause de ma thyroïdite d'Hashimoto
notably due to my Hashimoto's thyroiditis
et parce que j'ai de l'endométriose.
and because I have endometriosis.
Et du coup, ça arrivait très vite, finalement.
And so, it happened very quickly, in the end.
Donc, je ne m'y attendais pas du tout.
So, I wasn't expecting it at all.
Et ça faisait un an seulement qu'on avait lancé Dijon.
And it had only been a year since we launched Dijon.
On ne se payait même pas à l'époque.
We didn't even get paid back then.
Donc là, le jour où j'ai découvert que j'étais enceinte,
So there, the day I discovered that I was pregnant,
je me suis dit, mais je fais tout ce que ma mère
I told myself, but I do everything my mother...
m'a toujours dit de ne pas faire,
told me to never do,
c'est-à-dire devenir dépendante de mon conjoint.
that is to say, becoming dependent on my partner.
Parce que finalement, au moment tout de suite
Because, after all, at this very moment
où j'apprends que je suis enceinte et que je me dis,
where I learn that I am pregnant and I tell myself,
mais c'est vrai que je n'ai pas de salaire,
but it's true that I don't have a salary,
donc je monte ma boîte, c'est encore hyper à risque.
So I'm starting my business, it's still highly risky.
Donc, ça a plutôt été dans le stress
So, it was mostly stressful.
au début de grossesse.
at the beginning of pregnancy.
Et finalement, quand les enfants arrivent,
And finally, when the children arrive,
ce n'est jamais de mauvaise nouvelle.
It's never bad news.
Et on se rend compte que justement,
And we realize that precisely,
on est très puissante et qu'on veut faire beaucoup de choses.
We are very powerful and we want to do a lot of things.
Et on a réussi à se payer avant que j'accouche de mon fils.
And we managed to pay ourselves before I gave birth to my son.
Donc finalement, ça peut donner des ailes
So in the end, it can give wings.
et donner des ambitions démultipliées,
and give multiplied ambitions,
justement, de se dire, je veux construire ma famille,
exactly, to say to oneself, I want to build my family,
fonder Montigny.
found Montigny.
Et les ambitions, elles sont vraiment démultipliées
And the ambitions are really multiplied.
à ce moment-là.
at that moment.
Et la question financière, elle avait été abordée au départ
And the financial question had been addressed from the outset.
avec ton conjoint ?
with your partner?
Franchement, ce n'était pas vraiment concerté.
Honestly, it wasn't really coordinated.
Après, mon conjoint, il a une situation stable.
Afterward, my partner has a stable situation.
Il est salarié, donc on aurait pu quand même faire avec.
He is an employee, so we could have managed anyway.
Mais moi, en tant que femme,
But me, as a woman,
vraiment bercée par l'indépendance
truly cradled by independence
que ma mère a toujours essayé de m'inculquer,
that my mother always tried to instill in me,
je me suis dit vraiment, mais qu'est-ce que je fais ?
I really said to myself, but what am I doing?
Ce n'est pas du tout ce que j'avais prévu dans ma vie.
This is not at all what I had planned for my life.
Déjà, moi, le moment où je me lance en tant qu'entrepreneur,
Already, for me, the moment I embark on being an entrepreneur,
je n'ai jamais travaillé avant de faire 10 jours.
I have never worked before doing 10 days.
J'ai lancé directement la suite de mes études.
I directly started my studies again.
Je suis aussi dans une phase où je découvre beaucoup de choses.
I am also in a phase where I am discovering a lot of things.
Je n'ai pas beaucoup confiance en moi
I don't have much confidence in myself.
parce que les proches ne souhaitent jamais
because loved ones never wish
à quelqu'un d'être entrepreneur encore plus
to someone to be an entrepreneur even more
quand on est une femme, je trouve.
When you are a woman, I find.
Et du coup, à ce moment-là, je dois déjà subir
And so, at that moment, I already have to go through it.
le regard des autres qui se disent
the gaze of others who say
qu'elle fait n'importe quoi, qu'elle sort d'une grande école,
that she does whatever she wants, that she graduated from a prestigious school,
qu'elle a fait des stages en finance,
that she did internships in finance,
pourquoi elle va monter une entreprise
why she is going to start a business
pour faire des probiotiques pour les gens qui ont mal au ventre.
to make probiotics for people who have stomach pain.
À l'époque, quand on se sent, ces probiotiques,
At the time, when we feel, these probiotics,
ça ne parle à pas grand monde, donc vraiment,
it doesn't resonate with many people, so really,
c'est un peu compliqué.
It's a bit complicated.
Et en plus, tomber enceinte dans la foulée,
And on top of that, getting pregnant in the process,
là, je pense, les gens, ils se sont dit,
there, I think, people, they told themselves,
fais n'importe quoi.
do whatever you want.
Et donc, le regard des autres a aussi joué dans le fait
And so, the gaze of others also played a role in the fact.
que je ne me sois pas forcément épanouie
that I may not have necessarily flourished
dans cette première grossesse
in this first pregnancy
parce que les gens me disaient,
because people told me,
mais tu te rends compte de ce que tu fais ?
But do you realize what you're doing?
C'est hyper risqué, tu ne te payes pas.
It's super risky, you're not paying yourself.
Et aujourd'hui, j'ai vachement appris à me protéger de ça
And today, I really learned to protect myself from that.
parce que ça m'a impactée vraiment
because it really impacted me
et je n'ai pas profité de ma grossesse
and I did not enjoy my pregnancy.
peut-être comme j'aurais voulu en profiter.
maybe as I would have liked to take advantage of it.
Je peux comparer parce que j'en ai une deuxième depuis
I can compare because I have a second one since then.
qui a été vraiment bien plus épanouie.
who has really been much more fulfilled.
Oui, je comprends.
Yes, I understand.
Et Caroline, est-ce que c'est la même chose pour toi
And Caroline, is it the same for you?
au niveau financier ?
at the financial level?
Est-ce que la question s'est posée avec ton conjoint aussi ?
Has the question come up with your partner as well?
Oui, alors moi, je suis une grosse anxieuse
Yes, well, I'm a big anxious person.
sur ces questions financières
on these financial matters
parce que j'ai toujours été salariée pendant 20 ans
because I have always been an employee for 20 years
donc dans un confort financier certain,
so in a certain financial comfort,
toujours indépendante.
always independent.
Puis moi, j'aime me faire plaisir
As for me, I enjoy treating myself.
mais parce que je suis indépendante financièrement,
but because I am financially independent,
je veux avoir, m'entourer de belles choses,
I want to have, surround myself with beautiful things.
m'acheter des beaux vêtements.
buy myself nice clothes.
Vraiment, sur ça, je suis...
Really, on that, I am...
Et quand j'ai monté ma boîte,
And when I started my company,
tout ce que j'avais économisé de ma vie de salariée,
everything I had saved from my life as an employee,
j'avais tout investi sur cette boîte-là.
I had invested everything in that company.
Donc, je n'avais pas un euro de plus
So, I didn't have an extra euro.
pour quelque chose qui viendrait s'ajouter.
for something that would come to add.
Or, ce bébé est venu s'ajouter.
Now, this baby has come to join.
Et pour moi, on sait, en plus, un quatrième enfant,
And for me, we know, besides, a fourth child,
c'est une organisation dingue.
It's a crazy organization.
Ça veut dire une crèche, des nounous.
It means a daycare, caregivers.
Enfin, il y a quand même la question financière
Finally, there is still the financial question.
qui se pose vraiment.
who really poses.
J'en ai longuement parlé avec mon mari.
I talked about it at length with my husband.
Alors déjà, j'ai mon mari qui me soutient aussi quand même.
Well, I have my husband who supports me too, after all.
Mais la question...
But the question...
continue à se poser.
continues to settle.
Et en fait, je suis quelqu'un d'assez organisé.
And in fact, I am someone quite organized.
Je fais beaucoup de tableaux.
I make a lot of paintings.
Je fais des to-do lists et des choses comme ça.
I make to-do lists and things like that.
Et en fait, je me suis dit
And in fact, I said to myself
comment je vais réussir à financer mon projet,
how am I going to manage to finance my project,
élever cet enfant comme on a élevé les autres.
Raise this child as we raised the others.
Et puis, j'ai trouvé des solutions.
And then, I found solutions.
J'ai fait des sacrifices sur certaines choses.
I have made sacrifices in some areas.
Je me suis dit que je ferais les choses plus lentement
I told myself that I would take things slower.
pour ma création de société.
for my company creation.
Et de fil en aiguille,
And little by little,
après, il y a beaucoup de choses qui sont imprévisibles.
Afterward, there are many things that are unpredictable.
Et puis, tu improvises sur le terrain quand tu es dans l'action.
And then, you improvise on the spot when you are in action.
Et finalement, ça s'est bien passé.
And finally, it went well.
Moi, je pense que j'ai réussi à le faire
I think I managed to do it.
parce que j'avais aussi...
because I also had...
Enfin, je ne sais pas si c'est une question d'âge ou pas.
Finally, I don't know if it's a question of age or not.
Moi, je pense que j'avais atteint une certaine maturité.
I think I had reached a certain maturity.
J'avais l'expérience de ces trois enfants
I had the experience of these three children.
qui faisait que j'avais en tête pas mal de postes, de lignes
which meant that I had quite a few positions, lines in mind
que je devrais...
that I should...
J'avais l'expérience de ces trois enfants.
I had the experience of these three children.
Je pense que si ça avait été sur un premier enfant...
I think that if it had been about a first child...
D'ailleurs, c'est pour ça que je suis toujours impressionnée
Besides, that's why I'm always impressed.
par les entrepreneuses qui arrivent à gérer leur boîte
by the female entrepreneurs who manage to run their businesses
avec un premier enfant.
with a first child.
Je pense que j'aurais été un peu plus paniquée.
I think I would have been a little more panicked.
Donc là, c'est l'expérience qui m'a servi.
So there, it was the experience that helped me.
Qui t'a aidée sur cette perte.
Who helped you with this loss?
Exactement.
Exactly.
Et toi, Inès, avec ton conjoint aussi,
And you, Inès, with your partner as well,
la question s'est posée.
The question arose.
Financièrement, nous, ça a été un drôle de concours de circonstances.
Financially, it has been a strange set of circumstances for us.
On est en 2019, quand je suis enceinte.
It's 2019 when I am pregnant.
Et quelques jours avant mon accouchement,
And a few days before my delivery,
mon conjoint qui est entrepreneur,
my partner who is an entrepreneur,
qui a fondé une entreprise avec ses amis
who founded a company with his friends
et qui a revendu à deux entreprises du CAC 40,
and who sold to two companies in the CAC 40,
les trois se font virer Manu Militari.
The three are fired with military authority.
On leur reprend tout.
We take everything back from them.
Le mutuel, les avantages, etc.
The mutual, the benefits, etc.
Évidemment, le salaire.
Obviously, the salary.
Quand t'es CEO, tu te fais des centres de la voiture
When you're a CEO, you have car centers made for you.
et puis c'est tout.
and that's it.
Et à ce moment-là, j'accouche.
And at that moment, I give birth.
Je me paye pas.
I'm not paying myself.
Je suis présidente d'ONG.
I am the president of an NGO.
Donc, j'ai pas une start-up qui est censée lever des millions.
So, I don't have a startup that is supposed to raise millions.
On essaye de faire du plaidoyer, de l'éducation.
We are trying to do advocacy and education.
Donc, des choses très peu lucratives.
So, very unprofitable things.
Mais on a des financements.
But we have funding.
Et quelques mois après, trois mois exactement après l'accouchement,
And a few months later, exactly three months after the birth,
le Covid arrive, confiné, et tous nos financements cessent
Covid arrives, we are confined, and all our funding stops.
parce que tout va aux hôpitaux, ce qui est complètement normal.
because everything goes to the hospitals, which is completely normal.
Mais du coup, j'ai des salariés, j'ai une équipe,
But as a result, I have employees, I have a team,
j'ai des deniers personnels à sortir pour payer les gens.
I have personal funds to withdraw to pay people.
Et évidemment, j'ai pas d'argent.
And of course, I have no money.
Je passe sur une anecdote qui est drôle.
I will skip over a funny anecdote.
Avant mon accouchement, quelques semaines avant mon accouchement,
A few weeks before my delivery, before my delivery,
je suis en une...
I am in a...
J'ai une double page.
I have a double page.
Je suis dans un grand magazine, dans le L-Magazine.
I am in a big magazine, in L-Magazine.
Et je vois dans le kiosque...
And I see in the kiosk...
En fait, je suis dans un franprix pour m'acheter mon déjeuner,
Actually, I am in a Franprix to buy my lunch.
un sandwich un peu bête.
a somewhat silly sandwich.
Et vraiment, il y en avait pour 10 euros de déjeuner.
And really, there was a 10 euro lunch.
Et en face, je vois qu'il y a sur l'étale,
And in front, I see that there is on the display,
il y a le magazine où je suis.
There is the magazine where I am.
Et la caissière me reconnaît.
And the cashier recognizes me.
Elle me dit, ah, mais c'est vous, etc.
She said to me, oh, but it's you, etc.
Je dis, oui, oui.
I say, yes, yes.
Donc, elle s'imagine que je suis quelqu'un avec beaucoup de succès.
So, she imagines that I am someone very successful.
Et là, ma carte ne passe pas.
And there, my card is not working.
Elle m'en refusait.
She refused me that.
Et en fait, j'ai la notification tout de suite.
And in fact, I have the notification right away.
Sur le téléphone, qui me dit,
On the phone, who tells me,
votre paiement vient d'être bloqué
your payment has just been blocked
pour manque de provision.
for lack of funds.
Et en fait, c'est là...
And actually, it's there...
Moi, c'était un choc extrême.
For me, it was an extreme shock.
Ça a été humiliant pour moi de me dire
It has been humiliating for me to tell myself.
que j'avais peut-être du succès, mais pas la réussite.
that I might have had success, but not achievement.
Et c'est tout aussi le malaise qu'on peut avoir dans l'entrepreneuriat.
And it is just as much the discomfort we can experience in entrepreneurship.
C'est qu'on peut avoir beaucoup de visibilité,
It's that we can have a lot of visibility,
être nommé comme très inspirant.
to be named as very inspiring.
Mais en réalité, on est très peu solide,
But in reality, we are very weak,
très fragile financièrement.
very financially fragile.
Et d'avoir un enfant...
And to have a child...
En revanche, moi, ce que ça a changé financièrement,
On the other hand, what it has changed for me financially,
et je souscris à ce que tu disais,
and I agree with what you said,
c'est que ça m'a démultiplié mes ambitions.
It has multiplied my ambitions.
J'ai appris ma valeur financière
I have learned my financial worth.
et je suis devenue intraitable sur mes négociations.
and I have become inflexible in my negotiations.
Et d'ailleurs, aujourd'hui, j'en parle énormément.
And by the way, today I'm talking about it a lot.
J'essaie d'aider d'autres entrepreneurs là-dessus,
I am trying to help other entrepreneurs with that.
parce que c'est très difficile.
because it's very difficult.
Mais j'ai appris à gagner ma vie décemment en devenant mère,
But I learned to earn a decent living by becoming a mother,
parce qu'il était impensable d'avoir des défauts
because it was unthinkable to have flaws
de paiement pour des petites sommes,
payment for small amounts,
alors que j'étais censée être quelqu'un avec du succès.
when I was supposed to be someone successful.
Maintenant, en fait, j'étais vraiment au fond du fond.
Now, actually, I was really at the bottom of the bottom.
Est-ce qu'à ce moment-là, tu t'es dit...
At that moment, did you think to yourself...
Parce que je suppose que, vu la situation,
Because I suppose that, given the situation,
forcément, qui était assez coquesse,
necessarily, who was quite coquettish,
face à une personne en plus que tu ne connais pas,
facing a person you don't know,
est-ce qu'à un moment donné, tu t'es posé la question de
At some point, did you ask yourself the question of
est-ce que je vais continuer dans cette voie-là
Am I going to continue down this path?
ou est-ce qu'il faut complètement que je change ?
Or do I need to completely change?
Parce que ton mari était dans une certaine situation,
Because your husband was in a certain situation,
toi aussi, donc vous étiez un petit peu sur la ligne,
you too, so you were a little bit on the line,
si je peux dire.
if I may say.
Et est-ce que tu t'es posé la question
And have you asked yourself the question?
de est-ce que je devrais reprendre un travail ?
Should I go back to work?
Est-ce que je devrais repartir dans le salariat ?
Should I go back to being an employee?
Est-ce qu'à un moment donné, tu te l'es posé ?
At some point, did you ask yourself that?
Alors, c'est une question, en toute sincérité,
So, it's a question, in all sincerity,
que je me suis posée il y a très peu de temps.
that I asked myself very recently.
D'accord.
Agreed.
Parce que je crois que la vie, c'est des cycles
Because I believe that life is about cycles.
et qu'on n'est pas entrepreneur toute sa vie.
and that we are not entrepreneurs for our entire life.
Il y a des salariés qui vont faire de très bas entreprises.
There are employees who will work for very low companies.
Il y a des entrepreneurs qui feront de très bons salariés,
There are entrepreneurs who will make very good employees.
de très bons dirigeants, de très bons cadres supérieurs.
very good leaders, very good senior executives.
Moi, je crois que la vie, c'est des cycles.
I believe that life is cycles.
Il ne faut surtout pas s'enfermer.
One must not isolate oneself.
C'est ce qui me dérange aujourd'hui dans les mots,
It's what bothers me today about words,
dans les néologismes qu'on a,
in the neologisms that we have,
pour citer soit la manière dont on vit sa vie professionnelle
to cite either the way one lives their professional life
ou même sa sexualité.
or even his sexuality.
Aujourd'hui, on a beaucoup de mots qui nous permettent de nous définir.
Today, we have many words that allow us to define ourselves.
Mais je crois que si on s'enferme dedans,
But I believe that if we lock ourselves inside,
ça devient des prisons.
It becomes prisons.
Je crois au contraire que ce sont des balises
I believe on the contrary that these are markers.
pour savoir où est-ce qu'on en est à différentes époques
to know where we stand at different times
et différentes géographies de nos vies.
and different geographies of our lives.
Donc, c'est un peu pareil pour l'entrepreneuriat.
So, it's a bit the same for entrepreneurship.
Et donc, c'est une question que je me suis posée récemment.
And so, it's a question that I asked myself recently.
Mais à cette époque-là, pas du tout.
But at that time, not at all.
Pas du tout.
Not at all.
Pour moi, c'est impensable
For me, it's unthinkable.
parce que je ne suis pas du tout dans un moment
because I am not in a moment at all
où le salariat m'appelle.
where salaried employment calls me.
Et par ailleurs, tout à l'heure, Caroline,
And furthermore, earlier, Caroline,
pendant le déjeuner, nous disait
during lunch, we were told
que ce n'était pas tant l'entrepreneuriat
that it wasn't so much entrepreneurship
que la créativité qui m'intéressait.
that the creativity that interested me.
Et je suis vraiment d'accord avec ça.
And I really agree with that.
Moi, j'avais envie de créer.
I wanted to create.
J'avais appris à coder.
I had learned to code.
J'avais développé un algorithme bas carbone
I had developed a low-carbon algorithm.
que des grands groupes voulaient me racheter.
that large companies wanted to buy me out.
Mais sauf qu'en fait,
But except that in fact,
comme je n'étais pas entrepreneur dans l'âme à ce moment-là,
as I was not an entrepreneur at heart at that time,
moi, je n'ai pas appris à faire des millions,
I haven't learned how to make millions.
à lever des fonds, etc.
to raise funds, etc.
Moi, j'avais des bonnes idées.
I had good ideas.
Je savais emmener des gens,
I knew how to take people along.
faire émerger des sujets.
bring forth topics.
Mais oulala, gagner de l'argent là-dessus,
But oh dear, making money from that,
c'était un autre langage.
it was another language.
Et donc, je parlais avec des...
And so, I was talking with some...
C'était lunaire.
It was lunar.
J'avais des conversations avec des big fours,
I had conversations with the big fours,
avec des grands cabinets de conseil
with large consulting firms
sur OK, alors attends,
Alright, so wait,
on va te prendre des parts et là-dessus.
We will take some shares from you on that.
Et puis, ils me parlaient du charabia.
And then, they talked to me about nonsense.
Et moi, j'essayais de faire bien.
And I was trying to do well.
Et c'était une époque où,
And it was a time when,
comme j'étais plus jeune,
when I was younger,
je n'osais pas demander de l'aide
I didn't dare to ask for help.
parce qu'il ne fallait absolument pas
because it absolutely should not have
que je montre que j'avais des épaules
that I show that I had shoulders
plus petites qu'on ne le croyait.
smaller than we thought.
J'avais un gros costume à endosser.
I had a big role to play.
Et donc, je faisais mine de savoir.
And so, I pretended to know.
Et c'est ce qui m'a aussi menée
And that's what also led me.
dans le mur financièrement
financially in the wall
parce qu'au final,
because in the end,
je n'ai pas vendu cet algorithme.
I did not sell this algorithm.
Et je pense que j'ai loupé le train
And I think I missed the train.
à ce moment-là.
at that moment.
Si j'avais été mieux formée,
If I had been better trained,
mieux accompagnée.
better supported.
Mais ce n'est pas grave, on apprend.
But it's okay, we learn.
Et toi, Caroline,
And you, Caroline,
il me semble que justement,
it seems to me that precisely,
tu as lancé ton entreprise,
you launched your business,
tu es tombée enceinte.
You got pregnant.
Donc, tu as voulu repartir dans le salariat.
So, youwanted to return to salaried work.
Puis finalement, tu t'es dit que non
Then finally, you told yourself that no.
parce que ta créativité a pris le dessus.
because your creativity took over.
Donc, comment tu as vécu aussi cette période ?
So, how did you experience that time?
Oui, c'est très juste.
Yes, that's very true.
Et moi, cette question,
And me, this question,
je me la suis vraiment posée
I really asked myself that.
parce que, comme je te l'expliquais,
because, as I was explaining to you,
je suis tombée enceinte
I became pregnant.
à la fin d'une année de congé
at the end of a year of leave
pour création d'entreprise.
for starting a business.
Et là, je tombe enceinte
And then, I get pregnant.
et je suis en panique.
and I am in a panic.
Mais vraiment, je suis en panique.
But really, I am in a panic.
Mon mari me dit,
My husband tells me,
qui me soutient vraiment toujours beaucoup
who always really supports me a lot
et qui était à fond
and who was all in
dans ce nouveau projet créatif,
in this new creative project,
me dit, tu ne devrais pas lâcher.
tells me, you shouldn't give up.
Tu as quelque chose en toi,
You have something in you,
tu vas y arriver.
You will succeed.
Tu arriveras à mener de front
You will manage to handle both.
cette grossesse et ce projet.
this pregnancy and this project.
Et moi, vraiment, j'ai eu peur.
And me, really, I was scared.
Donc, j'ai rétro-pédalé.
So, I backpedaled.
Je suis revenue dans le grand groupe
I returned to the large group.
dans lequel j'étais.
in which I was.
Et puis, vraiment un peu,
And then, really a little,
non seulement triste,
not only sad,
mais un peu honteuse.
but a little ashamed.
J'avais vraiment ce sentiment
I truly had that feeling.
d'avoir échoué
of having failed
avant même d'avoir commencé.
even before having started.
Partager entre cette grossesse,
Share between this pregnancy,
cette montée d'hormones
this surge of hormones
qui me mettait vraiment
who really put me
dans un état émotionnel pas possible.
in a completely impossible emotional state.
Et je suis revenue dans ce grand groupe.
And I returned to this large group.
Je suis restée deux mois
I stayed for two months.
de nouveau enfermée dans un bureau.
locked up in an office again.
Et là, je pleurais tous les soirs.
And there, I cried every night.
En fait, j'avais goûté
In fact, I had tasted.
déjà à cette...
already at this...
Alors, liberté,
So, freedom,
ce n'est peut-être pas le mot exact
it may not be the exact word
pour l'entrepreneuriat.
for entrepreneurship.
Mais en tout cas,
But in any case,
le fait tout d'un coup
the fact all of a sudden
de pouvoir décider moi-même
to be able to decide for myself
de ce que je voulais faire,
of what I wanted to do,
d'être libre de mes décisions
to be free in my decisions
et puis de créer quelque chose
and then to create something
qui me ressemble.
who resembles me.
Même laisser mon empreinte.
Even leave my mark.
Finalement, je crois que
Finally, I believe that
ce semi-retour au salariat
this semi-return to salaried employment
m'a définitivement fait comprendre
made me understand for good
que ce n'était plus
that it was no longer
ce que je voulais faire.
what I wanted to do.
Donc, quelque part, je me suis dit
So, somewhere, I told myself
mais en fait, la vie,
but in fact, life,
elle est bien faite parfois.
She is well built sometimes.
Ce bébé, il est arrivé
This baby, he has arrived.
pour m'ôter tous les doutes
to remove all my doubts
qui pouvaient encore persister en moi.
that could still persist within me.
Parce que j'en ai eu vraiment.
Because I really had some.
Moi, le fait de m'être lancée tard
For me, the fact that I started late.
dans l'entrepreneuriat,
in entrepreneurship,
quelque part, c'est encore pire.
Somewhere, it's even worse.
Surtout quand je me suis lancée,
Especially when I started,
j'avais 43 ans,
I was 43 years old,
j'avais déjà trois enfants.
I already had three children.
Enfin, tout était...
Finally, everything was...
J'avais un chemin de vie
I had a path in life.
un peu établi
a little established
mais qui ne m'allait plus du tout
but which no longer suited me at all
parce que j'avais besoin de...
because I needed to...
Je m'ennuyais en fait.
I was actually bored.
Je m'ennuyais, je crois,
I was bored, I think.
intellectuellement, créativement.
intellectually, creatively.
Mais de prendre cette décision
But to make this decision
de tout lâcher,
to let everything go,
lâcher ce confort,
let go of this comfort,
cette sécurité.
this security.
Et puis, je vous passe
And then, I pass you.
tout ce qu'on entend
everything we hear
dans son entourage
in his entourage
quand on quitte un beau poste
when leaving a beautiful position
avec une famille
with a family
pour se lancer tout d'un coup
to jump in all of a sudden
dans la création de bijoux.
in jewelry making.
On me riait au nez.
I was laughed at.
On me disait, oui, oui,
I was being told, yes, yes,
elle fait sa petite crise
She's having her little tantrum.
de la quarantaine.
of the forties.
Elle va se retrouver en compétition
She is going to find herself in competition.
avec les 100 000 marques de bijoux
with the 100,000 jewelry brands
qui naissent par jour.
who are born each day.
Moi, j'ai même un copain
I even have a boyfriend.
qui m'avait dit clairement
who had clearly told me
en soirée, il me dit,
in the evening, he tells me,
tu veux savoir ce que j'en pense
Do you want to know what I think about it?
de ton projet ?
about your project?
Dans six mois, c'est fini.
In six months, it's over.
Enfin, vraiment, les gens...
Finally, really, people...
Ah oui, quand même, c'est dur ça.
Oh yes, still, that's tough.
Oui, mais je l'ai trouvé
Yes, but I found it.
beaucoup plus honnête
much more honest
que la plupart de mes proches
that most of my loved ones
qui me disaient,
who told me,
oui, oui, c'est super
yes, yes, it's great
et qui, je pense, par derrière,
and who, I think, from behind,
se disaient,
they said to each other,
elle est complètement folle.
She is completely crazy.
C'est très compliqué
It's very complicated.
quand tu essayes d'obtenir
when you try to get
un avis très objectif
a very objective review
sur un nouveau projet comme ça.
on a new project like that.
Et enfin, bref,
And finally, in short,
pour revenir à ta question,
to return to your question,
effectivement, cette marche arrière
indeed, this backward step
et ce nouveau passage au salariat
and this new shift to salaried employment
m'a définitivement convaincue
convinced me for good
que c'était plus
that it was more
ce que je voulais faire.
what I wanted to do.
Et donc, je remercie ce bébé,
And so, I thank this baby,
cette petite soigne
this little one takes care
qui m'a permis
who allowed me
de me conforter
to comfort me
dans ce choix.
in this choice.
Et malgré la question financière,
And despite the financial question,
comment est-ce que
how is it that
vous vous êtes fait aider ?
Did you get some help?
Parce que je suppose
Because I suppose
que quand on est maman
that when you are a mom
et entrepreneur,
and entrepreneur,
il faut savoir se faire aider.
One must know how to ask for help.
Anouk, de ton côté,
Anouk, on your side,
qu'est-ce que vous avez mis
What did you put?
en place finalement
finally in place
avec ton conjoint
with your partner
de ce côté-là ?
On that side?
Moi, j'ai la super nounou.
I have the awesome nanny.
Pour le coup,
For the moment,
il n'y a pas 15 000 mètres
There are not 15,000 meters.
de se faire aider
to get help
quand on a des parents
when you have parents
qui travaillent encore
who are still working
ou qui ne sont pas à côté.
or who are not nearby.
J'ai un conjoint
I have a partner.
qui travaille beaucoup.
who works a lot.
Donc, effectivement,
So, indeed,
il faut absolument se faire aider.
It is essential to get help.
Et c'est aussi
And it is also
une question financière.
a financial question.
Parce que la garde,
Because the guard,
c'est un budget.
It's a budget.
Moi, j'ai quasiment
For me, I have almost
tout mon premier salaire
all my first salary
dans le salaire de ma nounou.
in my nanny's salary.
Et du coup, je me dis,
And so, I tell myself,
il y a un moment,
a little while ago,
on fait l'arbitrage
we make the arbitration
en se disant,
by saying to oneself,
est-ce que il ne vaudrait pas mieux
Wouldn't it be better?
que moi, je garde l'enfant
that I keep the child
vu que je gagne quasiment autant ?
since I earn almost as much?
Donc, il faut vraiment avoir
So, you really have to have
une vision long terme
a long-term vision
de ce qu'on fait
of what we do
en tant qu'entrepreneur
as an entrepreneur
pour se dire,
to say to oneself,
non mais bientôt,
no but soon,
ça va grandir,
It will grow.
je gagnerai plus.
I will earn more.
Et du coup, la nounou,
And so, the nanny,
ce sera évidemment
it will obviously be
une évidence.
an obviousness.
Je reviens rapidement
I'll be right back.
sur la question financière.
on the financial issue.
Mais je trouve que c'est surtout
But I find that it's mainly
un sujet chez les entrepreneurs femmes
a topic among women entrepreneurs
de ne pas assez se payer,
to not pay oneself enough,
de ne pas assez se rémunérer.
not paying oneself enough.
Nous, on a fait cette erreur
We made this mistake.
avec Lisa.
with Lisa.
C'est-à-dire que pendant longtemps,
That is to say that for a long time,
on faisait le sacrifice
we made the sacrifice
de ne pas se payer
not to pay oneself
en pensant que c'était bénéfique
thinking that it was beneficial
pour l'entreprise
for the company
parce que ça laissait
because it left
de la trésorerie.
of cash.
Mais en fait,
But in fact,
à un moment,
at one point,
à force de ne pas se payer,
by constantly not paying oneself,
ça a commencé à changer
it started to change
notre mindset.
our mindset.
On devenait moins ambitieuse.
We were becoming less ambitious.
On n'osait pas investir
We didn't dare to invest.
aussi dans notre entreprise
also in our company
parce que nous-mêmes,
because we ourselves,
on n'avait pas d'argent
we didn't have any money
à titre personnel.
personally.
Et moi, le fait que je sois
And me, the fact that I am
tombée enceinte
became pregnant
a un petit peu accéléré la chose
a little bit sped things up
parce qu'il fallait vraiment
because it was really necessary
que j'ai un salaire
that I have a salary
sinon ça ne pouvait pas fonctionner
otherwise it couldn't work
à l'arrivée de l'enfant.
upon the arrival of the child.
Et ça a été un déclic
And it was a trigger.
parce qu'en fait,
because in fact,
tu commences à gagner de l'argent,
you are starting to make money,
ton propre argent
your own money
que tu as gagné toi-même.
that you won yourself.
Ce n'est pas une entreprise
It is not a company.
pour qui tu vends ton temps
for whom do you sell your time
qui te l'a donné.
Who gave it to you?
Ça, c'est un changement de mindset.
That is a change in mindset.
Et là, tu te dis
And then you say to yourself
que tous les champs des possibles
that all the fields of possibilities
sont ouverts.
are open.
Et on a commencé
And we started.
à être beaucoup plus
to be much more
money-oriented.
money-oriented.
En fait, il faut le dire
In fact, it must be said.
quand on est entrepreneur,
when you are an entrepreneur,
il faut être créatif
One must be creative.
mais il faut aussi
but it is also necessary
savoir se vendre.
knowing how to sell oneself.
C'est hyper important.
It's super important.
Et là-dessus,
And on that note,
je trouve la parentalité,
I find parenting,
ça insiste un peu
It insists a little.
sur ce point de
on this point of
là, il faut devenir sharp.
There, you need to become sharp.
Effectivement,
Indeed,
il ne faut pas se dire
One must not say to oneself.
pas le choix.
no choice.
Mon temps,
My time,
il a une valeur.
He has value.
Mon travail,
My work,
il a une valeur
it has a value
et il faut savoir le vendre.
and you have to know how to sell it.
Et je vois en plus
And I see moreover.
beaucoup de femmes
many women
qui sont attirées
who are attracted
par l'entrepreneuriat
through entrepreneurship
parce que quand on a des enfants,
because when you have children,
c'est vrai que ça permet
It's true that it allows.
d'être plus flexible
to be more flexible
sur l'emploi du temps.
on the schedule.
Ça permet d'organiser
It allows to organize.
comment on passe du temps
how we spend time
avec eux
with them
parce que les enfants,
because the children,
quand on rentre à 20h30,
when you come home at 8:30 PM,
ils sont au lit.
They are in bed.
Donc, il faut les voir
So, we need to see them.
quand ils sortent de l'école
when they leave school
ou le matin,
or in the morning,
avoir un peu de temps.
to have a little time.
Donc, c'est génial
So, that's great.
l'entrepreneuriat,
entrepreneurship,
je trouve,
I find,
quand on a des enfants.
when you have children.
Mais effectivement,
But indeed,
ça implique de pouvoir
It involves being able to.
quand même vivre confortablement.
still live comfortably.
Donc, il ne faut pas faire
So, we should not do.
de compromis sur la valeur
of compromise on value
de son temps,
in his time,
la confiance qu'on peut avoir
the trust that one can have
en soi parce qu'en fait,
in itself because in fact,
les femmes ne sont pas éduquées
Women are not educated.
pour gagner de l'argent,
to make money,
pour organiser aussi
to organize too
la gestion financière.
financial management.
Souvent aussi,
Often too,
la répartition des dépenses
the distribution of expenses
dans le couple
in the couple
ne sont pas forcément équitables,
are not necessarily fair,
surtout quand on a des enfants.
especially when we have children.
Les courses,
The errands,
même si les femmes
even if women
qui les font,
who makes them,
ça coûte cher.
It costs a lot.
Et donc, tout ça,
And so, all that,
c'est hyper important
it's super important
et je trouve que la maternité,
and I find that motherhood,
ça aide.
It helps.
On est un peu au pied du mur,
We're a bit up against the wall.
on n'en a pas le choix
we don't have a choice
et donc, on le fait.
And so, we do it.
C'est comme prendre une nounou.
It's like hiring a nanny.
On ne peut pas être partout.
You can't be everywhere.
On ne peut pas travailler
We can't work.
12 heures par jour
12 hours a day
et être la meilleure maman du monde.
and be the best mom in the world.
En plus, aujourd'hui,
Moreover, today,
avec les réseaux sociaux,
with social networks,
il y a plein d'injonctions
There are plenty of injunctions.
à être une mère extraordinaire
to be an extraordinary mother
qui ne fait que des jeux,
who only plays games,
personne n'a d'écran.
Nobody has a screen.
Et puis, à côté,
And then, next to,
toujours bien sapé au bureau.
Always well-dressed at the office.
Moi, j'arrive souvent
I often arrive.
avec du lait
with milk
de régurgité sur mon épaule.
regurgitated on my shoulder.
Ça arrive, c'est comme ça.
It happens, that's just how it is.
Mais on ne peut pas être
But we cannot be
parfaite sur tous les plans,
perfect in every way,
même si on voit
even if we see
beaucoup de choses
many things
sur les réseaux.
on social media.
L'argent, malheureusement,
Money, unfortunately,
c'est le nerf de la guerre.
It's the nerve of war.
Ça peut être autrement,
It can be different,
ce serait génial.
that would be great.
Et du coup, pour se faire aider,
And so, to get help,
il faut aussi être stable
One must also be stable.
financièrement,
financially,
donc ça va un peu avec.
So it goes a bit with.
Et voilà, moi, ma solution,
And there you have it, my solution,
malheureusement,
unfortunately,
je n'ai pas trouvé autre chose
I didn't find anything else.
que la super nounou
what a super nanny
qui m'aide,
who helps me,
qui est même une personne
who is even a person
importante dans ma vie
important in my life
parce que finalement,
because in the end,
elle gère ce que j'ai de plus beau,
she manages what I have that's most beautiful,
c'est-à-dire mes enfants.
that is to say my children.
Et en même temps,
And at the same time,
c'est quelqu'un,
it's someone,
comme on se fait la passation
how we transfer the handover
le matin quand je pars,
In the morning when I leave,
le soir quand je rentre,
in the evening when I come home,
c'est quelqu'un
it's someone
un peu d'intime avec moi
a little intimacy with me
et c'est vraiment un pilier aujourd'hui.
And it is really a pillar today.
Je suis très attachée à ma nounou
I am very attached to my nanny.
et elle m'a beaucoup aidée
and she helped me a lot
pendant mon deuxième postpartum.
during my second postpartum.
Et donc, ça peut devenir
And so, it can become
vraiment un pilier.
truly a pillar.
Il y a plusieurs manières
There are several ways.
de gérer la garde des enfants
to manage child custody
et moi, je trouve que ça peut devenir
and I find that it could become
quelque chose de super positif.
something super positive.
J'ai une culture différente,
I have a different culture,
elle parle espagnol à mes enfants
She speaks Spanish to my children.
qui parlent espagnol du coup.
who speak Spanish then.
Donc voilà, tout le monde me dit
So there it is, everyone is telling me
tu fais garder tes enfants,
you have your children looked after,
il ferait mieux d'aller à la crèche.
He would be better off going to daycare.
De toute façon,
Anyway,
il y a toujours le jugement des autres.
There is always the judgment of others.
Mais il faut faire ce avec quoi
But you have to do what you have.
on est à l'aise
we are comfortable
dans les moyens qu'on a,
within the means we have,
évidemment.
obviously.
Mais il faut se faire confiance.
But you have to trust yourself.
Et comme quand on se lance
And like when we dive in.
dans l'entrepreneuriat,
in entrepreneurship,
à un moment, chaque femme sait
At some point, every woman knows.
ce qui est bon pour son foyer,
what is good for his household,
ses enfants.
his children.
Et surtout quand on n'a pas
And especially when we don't have.
ses parents aussi à proximité
his parents also nearby
parce qu'il y a toujours aussi
because there is always also
cette histoire
this story
ou des parents qui travaillent encore
or parents who are still working
puisque maintenant,
since now,
les parents travaillent tous
The parents all work.
un peu plus vieux aussi.
a little older too.
Donc finalement,
So finally,
ils ne peuvent pas toujours être là
They can't always be there.
pour garder les enfants.
to take care of the children.
Et puis, des enfants,
And then, children,
c'est une charge,
it's a burden,
surtout quand ils sont
especially when they are
en bas âge aussi.
at a young age too.
Inès, toi,
Inès, you,
tu as appris une nounou
You have learned a nanny.
avec ton conjoint ?
with your partner?
Non, nous, on n'a pas de nounou.
No, we don't have a nanny.
On n'a pas de nounou
We don't have a nanny.
parce qu'au départ,
because at the beginning,
c'était pas une nounou.
It wasn't a nanny.
C'était une question
It was a question.
qui pouvait se poser.
who could arise.
On n'avait pas les moyens,
We couldn't afford it,
tout simplement.
simply.
Et en fait,
And in fact,
on a trouvé le pli
We found the envelope.
de se dire,
to tell oneself,
on travaille comme des forcenés
We work like madmen.
du matin au soir
from morning to evening
et la crèche finissant
and the nursery ending
à 18h30.
at 6:30 PM.
Et l'école, c'est pareil
And school is the same.
quand tu prends aussi
when you also take
le temps d'études le soir.
study time in the evening.
À 18h20,
At 6:20 PM,
quoi qu'il arrive,
whatever happens,
c'est l'un ou l'autre.
It's one or the other.
Donc, on alterne en permanence
So, we constantly alternate.
et parfois,
and sometimes,
on s'arrange
We'll manage.
quand un ou une,
when a one or a one,
on a des contraintes.
We have constraints.
Mais on a ce mode d'ordre
But we have this order mode.
de se dire,
to tell oneself,
quitte à ce que
at the risk of
on a retravaillé derrière.
We reworked it afterwards.
Donc, on l'impose
So, we impose it.
à nos clients,
to our clients,
en réalité.
in reality.
On va chercher notre enfant,
We're going to pick up our child.
on le dépose à l'école
we drop him off at school
et on est avec lui.
and we are with him.
Et surtout,
And above all,
on a choisi la vie
we chose life
qu'on voulait.
that we wanted.
C'est-à-dire que,
That is to say that,
quitte à louper des trains,
even if it means missing trains,
des opportunités,
opportunities,
on veut être là le matin
We want to be there in the morning.
avec lui,
with him,
on veut être le soir
we want to be in the evening
avec lui.
with him.
On l'aime tellement
We love him/her/it so much.
et c'est vraiment important
and it is wirklich important
pour nous.
for us.
Donc, nous,
So, we,
on a gardé ce rythme,
we kept this rhythm,
en fait.
in fact.
Puis après,
Then after,
on a des vies
we have lives
en flux tendu.
in a just-in-time manner.
C'est-à-dire qu'on n'a jamais
That is to say we have never
de temps à tout
from time to time
qu'un retard,
what a delay,
on a des montagnes
We have mountains.
de linge,
of laundry,
il y a des papiers
there are papers
qui restent sur la table
who remain on the table
du salon.
from the living room.
Enfin, vraiment,
Finally, really,
c'est une maison
it's a house
très bohème,
very bohemian,
comme dirait certains.
as some would say.
C'est une maison qui vit,
It's a house that lives,
finalement.
finally.
C'est une maison qui vit beaucoup.
It's a house that lives a lot.
Elle vit très bien,
She is doing very well,
beaucoup,
a lot,
toute seule.
all alone.
Je suis le genre
I am the kind.
de personne qui s'excuse
from someone who apologizes
tout le temps
all the time
quand tu viens
when are you coming
impromptu à la maison.
impromptu at home.
Alors, tu fais pas attention.
So, you're not paying attention.
Et c'est pas pour dire
And it's not to say
vraiment,
really,
c'est toujours vraiment
it's always really
fais pas attention.
Don't pay attention.
Et donc, finalement,
And so, finally,
c'est le genre
it's the kind
de trouver la bonne nounou
to find the right nanny
et comme tu dis,
and as you say,
c'est à nous
it's up to us
que c'est hyper important.
that it's super important.
C'est important d'avoir
It's important to have.
une personne de confiance,
a trusted person,
une personne avec qui,
a person with whom,
parce que finalement,
because in the end,
ça devient un membre
it becomes a member
de la famille
from the family
qui t'accompagne
who is accompanying you
dans l'éducation
in education
de tes enfants.
of your children.
C'est immense.
It's immense.
Et ce temps-là,
And that time,
ça se prend.
It can be taken.
Et nous,
And we,
on l'a jamais pris
we never took it
et c'était plus facile
and it was easier
pour nous de continuer
for us to continue
avec cette contrainte
with this constraint
avec laquelle,
with which,
finalement,
finally,
on a bien réussi
we did well
à huiler nos journées.
to oil our days.
Donc, nous,
So, we,
on n'a pas de nounou.
We don't have a nanny.
J'ai ma belle-mère
I have my mother-in-law.
qui vit pas très loin
who lives not very far away
et qui est une super mamie
and who is a great grandma
qui nous aide.
who helps us.
Heureusement qu'on l'a.
Luckily we have it.
Mais après,
But afterwards,
à 18h30,
at 6:30 PM,
on est là
we are here
et s'il faut retravailler
and if it needs to be reworked
jusqu'à 2h du matin,
until 2 a.m.,
on le fait.
We do it.
Vous aménagez
You are moving in.
votre emploi du temps.
your schedule.
Oui, absolument,
Yes, absolutely.
en fonction de lui, oui.
Depending on him, yes.
Et toi, Caroline,
And you, Caroline,
avec 4 enfants,
with 4 children,
alors il y en a
So there are some.
qui sont plus grands,
who are taller,
il y en a plus petits.
There are smaller ones.
Alors, l'avantage
So, the advantage
d'avoir des enfants
having children
un peu plus grands,
a little bigger,
c'est qu'on peut aussi
It's that we can also.
s'appuyer sur eux
rely on them
pour gérer les plus petits.
to manage the smallest ones.
Donc, c'est un peu
So, it's a bit
le syndrome
the syndrome
des familles nombreuses,
large families,
c'est-à-dire que
that is to say that
tout le monde s'entraide.
Everyone helps each other.
Ils sont tous...
They are all...
Et puis, bon,
And then, well,
après, moi,
after, me,
j'ai aussi la chance
I am also lucky.
d'avoir des enfants
to have children
qui n'ont pas de problèmes
who have no problems
de santé,
of health,
ils sont bien
They are fine.
dans leur pompe,
in their pump,
ils sont équilibrés,
they are balanced,
ils sont gentils globalement
They are generally nice.
parce que tu peux aussi
because you can too
avoir un enfant
to have a child
qui a plus de difficultés,
who has more difficulties,
etc.
etc.
Et là, moi,
And there, me,
je pense que la question,
I think that the question,
en tout cas, moi,
in any case, me,
de mon activité professionnelle
of my professional activity
se reposerait
would rest
si j'avais eu un enfant
if I had had a child
avec des problèmes
with problems
dont il faut s'occuper
that one must take care of
vraiment, tu vois,
really, you see,
particulièrement.
particularly.
Là, ils sont cool,
There, they are cool.
ils sont bien,
they are good,
ils se débrouillent
They manage.
très bien tout seuls.
very well all by themselves.
Donc, ce sont des enfants
So, these are children.
qui sont quand même
who are still
largement autonomes
largely autonomous
et ils sont
and they are
mais après, moi,
but after, me,
voilà, j'ai tout fait,
there you go, I've done everything,
moi, crèche, nounou,
me, daycare, nanny
baby-sitter, en fait.
babysitter, in fact.
C'est-à-dire qu'il y a
That is to say that there is
souvent, t'as beau avoir
often, no matter how much you have
un fil conducteur,
a guiding thread,
t'as beau avoir,
you may have
il y a toujours
there is always
des petits grains de sable
small grains of sand
qui viennent se mêler
who come to mix in
à tout ça.
to all that.
Et donc, moi,
And so, I,
le nombre de fois
the number of times
où j'ai dû aller
where I had to go
récupérer ma fille
get my daughter back
à la crèche
at the daycare
en sortant
on leaving
en pleine réunion,
in the middle of a meeting,
les récupérer à l'école
pick them up at school
parce qu'il y en a un
because there is one
qui est tombé,
who fell,
enfin, qui s'est cassé
finally, who broke it
le bras.
the arm.
Enfin, moi,
Finally, me,
encore aujourd'hui,
still today,
ça arrive tout le temps,
it happens all the time,
même à 14 ans,
even at 14 years old,
ils se cassent encore des bras,
they're still breaking their arms,
il faut les emmener
They need to be taken.
en urgence à l'hôpital.
Emergency at the hospital.
Mais j'ai pris le pli
But I have gotten the hang of it.
de tout ça.
of all that.
C'est-à-dire que,
That is to say that,
pour moi,
for me,
une journée
a day
où il ne se passe rien,
where nothing happens,
c'est limite
it's borderline
une journée pas normale.
an unusual day.
Et donc,
And so,
j'ai une super nounou.
I have a great nanny.
Alors, je suis comme toi,
So, I am like you,
moi, j'ai une nounou
I have a nanny.
qu'on a depuis 15 ans.
that we have had for 15 years.
C'est la deuxième maman
It's the second mom.
de mes enfants.
of my children.
Qui fait partie de la famille,
Who is part of the family,
c'est ce que disait Inès.
That's what Inès said.
Et c'est là
And it is there
où c'est très difficile
where it is very difficult
de trouver une personne
to find a person
de confiance comme ça
trustworthy like that
parce que, moi,
because, me,
vraiment,
really,
alors, on l'a trouvée
so, we found her
il y a 15 ans,
mais je peux lui laisser
but I can leave it to him/her
ma vie,
my life,
mes enfants,
my children,
je peux partir en voyage,
I can go on a trip,
je lui laisserai l'appartement.
I will leave him the apartment.
C'est comme, oui,
It's like, yes,
c'est un membre de la famille.
It's a family member.
Et donc, ça,
And so, that,
c'est ultra précieux
it's ultra precious
parce que tu sais que,
because you know that,
quel que soit le problème,
whatever the problem,
même si tu es loin,
even if you are far away,
elle sera toujours là
She will always be there.
pour intervenir,
to intervene,
même en urgence.
even in an emergency.
C'est comme ses enfants.
It's like his children.
Après, voilà,
After, here it is,
j'ai...
I have...
Moi, on n'est pas trop aidés
Me, we aren't really helped.
par mes parents.
by my parents.
Alors, mes beaux-parents,
So, my in-laws,
ils sont un peu loin,
they are a bit far away,
mais quand même,
but still,
j'ai une belle-mère géniale
I have a great mother-in-law.
qui prend régulièrement
who takes regularly
les enfants à vacances.
the children on vacation.
Et ça, les vacances,
And that, the holidays,
c'est une vraie question aussi
It's a real question too.
parce que les vacances
because of the holidays
des enfants,
children,
ça revient tout le temps
It keeps coming back all the time.
et que quand vous bossez,
and that when you work,
vous ne pouvez pas vous permettre
you can't afford it
de prendre 15 jours
to take 15 days
tous les deux mois.
every two months.
Et moi, quelque part,
And me, somewhere,
plus que le quotidien,
more than the everyday,
ce sont les vacances
it's vacation time
qui sont vraiment
who are really
problématiques à gérer,
issues to manage,
en tout cas,
in any case,
parallèlement à cette vie
parallel to this life
d'entrepreneuse.
of entrepreneur.
Et là, ben voilà,
And there you go,
on sort un peu
We're going out a bit.
tous les moyens.
all means.
Mais en fait,
But in fact,
je crois qu'il n'y a pas
I believe there isn't any.
un mois qui se ressemble.
a month that looks the same.
Moi, tellement,
Me, so much,
j'ai de soupapes
I have valves.
pour m'aider
to help me
dans l'organisation.
in the organization.
Et alors,
And so,
comment est-ce que vous avez vécu
How did you experience it?
votre grossesse physiquement
your pregnancy physically
et psychologiquement ?
And psychologically?
Est-ce que ça a eu un impact
Did it have an impact?
sur votre travail ?
about your work?
Alors, Anouk,
So, Anouk,
je vais me tourner vers toi
I will turn to you.
parce que je sais que tu as aussi
because I know that you have too
des maladies auto-immunes.
autoimmune diseases.
Est-ce que ça a impacté aussi
Did it also have an impact?
avec le travail
with the work
sur ton organisation ?
about your organization?
Alors moi,
So me,
j'étais super malade
I was really sick.
déjà les trois premiers mois
already the first three months
de ma grossesse.
of my pregnancy.
Donc ça,
So that,
je n'avais pas du tout anticipé
I hadn't anticipated it at all.
que c'était comme ça,
that it was like that,
à ce point,
to that extent,
plus la fatigue,
more fatigue,
effectivement,
indeed,
énorme.
huge.
Donc effectivement,
So indeed,
ça impacte.
It impacts.
Après,
After,
j'ai trouvé ça plutôt positif
I found it rather positive.
parce que la première fois,
because the first time,
je ne me suis pas aussi bien organisée.
I haven't organized myself as well.
Mais la deuxième fois,
But the second time,
du coup,
so,
j'ai plus insisté
I insisted more.
sur déléguer
on delegating
ce que je pouvais déléguer,
what I could delegate,
mieux m'organiser,
better organize myself,
mieux communiquer aussi
better communicate as well
puisque,
since,
en fait,
in fact,
ça arrive à tout le monde
It happens to everyone.
d'avoir des hauts et des bas.
to have ups and downs.
Je dis un bas,
I say a stocking,
être enceinte,
to be pregnant,
ce n'est pas un bas,
it's not a sock,
mais c'est quand même
but it is still
un moment où on est moins disponible.
a moment when we are less available.
Il faut communiquer.
We need to communicate.
J'ai la chance d'avoir une équipe
I am lucky to have a team.
et du coup,
and as a result,
de bien s'organiser.
to organize well.
La première fois,
The first time,
je n'ai pas aussi bien géré
I didn't manage as well.
parce que la première fois,
because the first time,
on panique toujours un peu
We always panic a little.
et on fait comme on peut.
And we do the best we can.
Effectivement,
Indeed,
dès le premier jour
from the very first day
de la grossesse,
of pregnancy,
il faut anticiper
It is necessary to anticipate.
parce qu'on ne peut pas être
because one cannot be
à 200 %
at 200%
de ses capacités
of his abilities
pendant la grossesse.
during pregnancy.
Je souhaite à tout le monde
I wish everyone
que ça se passe bien,
I hope it goes well,
mais il vaut mieux partir
but it's better to leave
du pire scénario
of the worst-case scenario
et finalement,
and finally,
que ça se passe mieux que prévu.
that it goes better than expected.
Moi,
Me,
ce que je n'avais pas
what I did not have
du tout prévu,
not at all planned,
pareil,
same,
ma première grossesse,
my first pregnancy,
j'ai été alitée
I have been bedridden.
un mois et demi
a month and a half
avant l'accouchement.
before childbirth.
Donc,
So,
pareil,
same,
tous ces sujets,
all these subjects,
c'est très difficile
It's very difficult.
de les anticiper.
to anticipate them.
C'est pour ça
That's why.
qu'il vaut mieux partir
that it's better to leave
du pire en se disant
from the worst by telling oneself
pendant neuf mois,
for nine months,
j'ai peut-être quand même
I might still have it after all.
besoin de me faire un peu aider
I need a bit of help.
ou de voir comment
or to see how
je peux organiser.
I can organize.
De toute façon,
Anyway,
ça fait une transition
It makes for a transition.
assez naturelle
quite natural
avec le congé maternité
with maternity leave
qui suit.
who follows.
J'avais quand même essayé
I had still tried.
de travailler jusqu'au dernier jour.
to work until the last day.
Je dis ça,
I'm saying that,
il n'y a pas de monde idéal
There is no ideal world.
et quand on est entrepreneur,
and when you are an entrepreneur,
on travaille tous les jours
We work every day.
quoi qu'il en soit.
Anyway.
Mais effectivement,
But indeed,
je n'ai pas pu travailler
I could not work.
comme je voulais
as I wanted
pendant mes deux grossesses.
during my two pregnancies.
Tes maladies ont impacté
Your illnesses have impacted.
ta grossesse
your pregnancy
et après,
and after,
la récupération derrière
the recovery behind
ou pas du tout ?
or not at all?
Moi,
Me,
c'est plutôt au niveau
it's rather at the level
de la récupération
of recovery
parce que la thyroïde,
because the thyroid,
c'est très sollicité
it's very much in demand
pendant la grossesse.
during pregnancy.
Donc effectivement,
So indeed,
je tombe souvent
I often fall.
en hypothyroïdie
in hypothyroidism
après mes grossesses.
after my pregnancies.
Là,
There,
je suis obligée
I am obliged.
de reprendre
to resume
un traitement hormonal,
hormonal treatment,
le lévothyrox classique.
the classic levothyrox.
Je le sais,
I know it,
je gère bien cette maladie.
I manage this illness well.
J'ai déjà eu beaucoup
I have already had a lot.
de montagnes russes avec
roller coasters with
avant d'avoir des enfants.
before having children.
Donc maintenant,
So now,
je sais être à l'écoute
I know how to listen.
des symptômes.
symptoms.
Effectivement,
Indeed,
ça n'aide pas
That doesn't help.
mais ce n'est pas un handicap
but it is not a handicap
non plus.
neither.
Il ne faut pas voir ça
You shouldn't look at that.
comme ça.
Like that.
Moi,
Me,
depuis que je suis tombée malade
since I fell ill
et que j'ai réussi à...
and that I managed to...
Dijon,
Dijon,
elle a été lancée
it was launched
par cette phase négative
by this negative phase
de ma vie.
of my life.
Maintenant,
Now,
je ne veux plus jamais
I never want to again.
le prendre comme un handicap
take it as a handicap
et chaque chose qui arrive
and everything that happens
comme la maternité,
like motherhood,
je l'embrasse
I kiss him/her.
comme je peux
as I can
et je fais avec.
and I deal with it.
Mais ça rajoute
But that adds.
un stress supplémentaire.
an additional stress.
Je crois que le truc
I believe that the thing
le plus important
the most important
pendant la grossesse,
during pregnancy,
c'est d'essayer
it's about trying
de ne pas être trop stressée
not to be too stressed
parce qu'en fait,
because in fact,
il y a entre tout le monde
there is among everyone
qui dit
who says
tu vas voir,
you will see,
ça va te changer ta vie,
It's going to change your life.
ça va être horrible.
It’s going to be horrible.
Déjà,
Already,
de toute façon,
anyway,
on ne veut jamais
we never want
se rendre compte.
to realize.
Donc,
So,
il vaut mieux vivre
it is better to live
le truc comme on peut
the thing as we can
mais la clé,
but the key,
c'est quand même
it's still
de bien s'organiser
to organize oneself well
pour prévoir le pire.
to anticipate the worst.
Prévoir que peut-être
Expect that perhaps
un moment,
one moment,
on ne peut pas travailler,
we cannot work,
on est trop malade.
We are too sick.
Moi,
Me,
je vomissais tous les matins
I was throwing up every morning.
au début.
at the beginning.
C'est quand même dur
It's still tough.
après d'aller au bureau.
after going to the office.
C'est vrai qu'on s'est organisé
It's true that we got organized.
et qu'on associait.
and that was associated.
Je restais en télétravail
I stayed working from home.
et ça m'aidait quand même.
And it helped me anyway.
C'est l'équivalent
It's the equivalent.
de courir un marathon,
to run a marathon,
ce truc.
this thing.
Je crois que c'est
I believe that it is.
l'effort physique
physical effort
le plus long
the longest
qu'un être humain
than a human being
puisse connaître.
may know.
Un moment,
One moment,
il faut écouter ça.
You need to listen to this.
Aujourd'hui,
Today,
les femmes,
the women,
elles ont des carrières
They have careers.
professionnelles
professional
et elles ont
and they have
beaucoup de pression.
a lot of pressure.
Encore plus,
Even more,
je crois,
I believe,
en entreprise,
in business,
quand on est enceinte,
when you are pregnant,
tout le monde a la boule au ventre
Everyone has a knot in their stomach.
d'annoncer à son employeur
to inform their employer
« je suis enceinte ».
"I am pregnant."
Elles sont attendues au tournant
They are expected around the corner.
pendant leur grossesse,
during their pregnancy,
quand elles reviennent
when they come back
de congés maternités
maternity leave
alors qu'elles viennent
then let them come
de vivre un chamboulement énorme.
to experience a tremendous upheaval.
Je trouve que c'est vraiment
I find that it's really
dommage en France
pity in France
qu'on ait cette mentalité-là.
that we have that mentality.
Souvent,
Often,
en plus,
moreover,
c'est entre femmes
It's between women.
qu'on n'est pas forcément
that we are not necessarily
très sympa là-dessus.
very nice about that.
C'est vraiment dommage.
It's really a shame.
C'est tellement difficile,
It's so difficult,
c'est tellement une épreuve
it's really a challenge
d'être enceinte,
to be pregnant,
de donner la vie,
to give life,
en plus de tous les changements
in addition to all the changes
du quotidien
of daily life
que ça implique.
what that implies.
Il faut prévoir le pire,
One must prepare for the worst,
je crois.
I believe.
C'est ce que j'ai essayé
That's what I tried.
de faire pour le deuxième,
to do for the second,
en tout cas.
in any case.
Je n'ai pas trop
I don't have much.
de bonnes pratiques
good practices
à donner à ce niveau-là,
to give at this level,
malheureusement.
unfortunately.
Et Inès,
And Inès,
toi,
you,
au niveau de l'impact
at the level of impact
sur ton travail
on your work
quand tu es tombée enceinte ?
When did you get pregnant?
Je l'ai pris
I took it.
de manière très artistique,
in a very artistic way,
c'est-à-dire...
that is to say...
C'est de sa créativité
It's about his creativity.
qui s'est exprimée.
who expressed herself.
C'est de ma créativité
It's from my creativity.
qui s'est exprimée.
who spoke.
Comme je te l'ai dit,
As I told you,
j'ouvrais un bureau
I was opening an office.
et évidemment,
and obviously,
avec ça,
with that,
tu dois absolument
you absolutely must
assurer une activité.
ensure an activity.
Donc,
So,
je n'avais vraiment
I really didn't have
aucun temps
no time
à dédier
to dedicate
à cette grossesse
to this pregnancy
que je n'avais pas prévue.
that I hadn't planned.
En plus,
Moreover,
j'avais une gynécologue
I had a gynecologist.
qui me disait
who was telling me
que j'avais une grossesse
that I was pregnant
très saine,
very healthy,
donc tout allait bien,
so everything was fine,
il n'y avait pas de raison
there was no reason
de changer mon rythme de vie.
to change my lifestyle.
Ça m'allait très bien.
It suited me very well.
Je n'ai fait aucun cours.
I haven't taken any classes.
Aucun.
None.
Aucun cours.
No class.
Moi non plus.
Me neither.
Ça me rassure.
That reassures me.
Mais non,
But no,
mais je n'avais pas le temps.
but I didn't have the time.
Je n'avais pas le temps.
I didn't have time.
Déjà,
Already,
aller me faire mes prises de sang
going to get my blood tests done
parce que je n'étais pas immunisée,
because I was not immunized,
ça me prenait un temps fou.
It took me forever.
Ça te prend une demi-journée
It takes you half a day.
le temps d'y aller,
the time to go there,
tu attends.
you wait.
J'exagère,
I'm exaggerating,
mais on n'est pas loin quand même
but we are not far away anyway
le temps de revenir
the time to return
à tes rendez-vous, etc.
at your appointments, etc.
Je n'ai pris aucun cours
I did not take any courses.
de préparation à l'accouchement.
of preparation for childbirth.
Et non,
And no,
moi,
me,
ça s'est bien passé.
It went well.
J'avais une équipe
I had a team.
qui était formidable.
who was amazing.
Ils étaient aux petits soins.
They were very attentive.
Ils m'annulaient des rendez-vous
They were canceling my appointments.
sans me le dire
without telling me
parce qu'ils trouvaient
because they found
que j'en avais trop dans la journée.
that I had too much during the day.
Donc,
So,
ils me disaient
they were telling me
« Non, non, attends, tu ne vas pas. »
"No, no, wait, you are not going."
J'ai même une India
I even have an India.
qui était mon assistante
who was my assistant
qui m'avait annulé un voyage
who had canceled a trip for me
que je voulais absolument faire.
that I absolutely wanted to do.
Elle m'a dit
She told me.
« Non, mais tu n'y vas pas.
"No, but you're not going there."
Tu es enceinte de sept mois, Inès.
You are seven months pregnant, Inès.
Tu ne prends pas ce vol. »
"You are not taking this flight."
Et en fait,
And in fact,
j'ai dit
I said
« Mais attends,
"But wait,"
il faut que j'y aille.
I have to go.
Non, non, attends,
No, no, wait,
le bébé va être en danger. »
"The baby is going to be in danger."
Donc, c'était...
So, it was...
Ah oui,
Ah yes,
d'ailleurs,
besides,
ils l'appelaient le bébé DFP
They called him the DFP baby.
qui est le nom de notre entreprise,
What is the name of our company?
enfin de l'ONG.
finally from the NGO.
Et donc,
And so,
c'était leur bébé, en fait.
It was their baby, in fact.
Moi,
Me,
j'étais simplement la porteuse.
I was simply the bearer.
Non, c'était marrant.
No, it was funny.
Il y avait quelque chose
There was something.
et moi, ça m'amusait
and I found it amusing
et je trouvais ça super sympa.
and I thought it was really nice.
Donc, je dirais
So, I would say
que c'est important
how important it is
d'être bien entouré,
to be well surrounded,
en réalité,
in reality,
de gens,
of people,
que ce soit nos collègues,
whether it's our colleagues,
nos équipes
our teams
ou même nos amis,
or even our friends,
la famille.
the family.
Je dirais peut-être
I might say.
une chose
one thing
par rapport
in relation to
à ce que disait Anouk.
to what Anouk was saying.
La préparation,
The preparation,
c'est important
it's important
parce que du coup,
because of that,
je ne me suis pas préparée
I did not prepare myself.
pour la préparation.
for the preparation.
Et je me rappelle,
And I remember,
à peu près à 7-8 mois,
about 7-8 months,
ma gynéco m'a dit
my gynecologist told me
mais vous avez pris des cours ?
But did you take lessons?
J'ai dit non, non, non, non.
I said no, no, no, no.
Elle m'a dit non, mais attendez,
She told me no, but wait,
c'est votre première course.
It's your first race.
J'ai dit non, mais j'irai voir un blog.
I said no, but I will go see a blog.
Ah oui !
Oh yes!
J'irai lire des blogs.
I will read blogs.
Et j'ai vraiment dit ça
And I really said that.
avec une nonchalance
with a nonchalance
et une condescendance
and a condescension
sans nom
nameless
à mon obstétricienne.
to my obstetrician.
Elle m'a regardée,
She looked at me,
elle a vu qu'on partait trop loin,
she saw that we were going too far,
elle n'a pas insisté.
She did not insist.
Et elle m'a dit
And she told me.
vous faites une péridurale ?
Are you getting an epidural?
J'ai dit non, non, non,
I said no, no, no.
ça va aller.
It's going to be okay.
Ah non !
Oh no!
Ah oui, complètement pas préparée
Oh yes, completely unprepared.
et sans péridurale.
and without epidural.
Elle m'a dit non, attendez,
She told me no, wait,
vous n'avez fait aucun exercice.
You haven't done any exercise.
Mais j'irai voir les articles aujourd'hui,
But I will go see the items today.
on ne parle que de ça.
That's all anyone talks about.
Tout va bien se passer.
Everything will be fine.
Tout va très bien se passer.
Everything will go very well.
Et en réalité,
And in reality,
non, non, le jour de...
no, no, the day of...
Et ça, je le dis sans fierté
And I say this without pride.
parce qu'il ne faut pas
because it must not
fanfaronner là-dessus,
brag about it,
mais le jour où j'ai accouché,
but the day I gave birth,
en fait, j'étais à une réunion.
In fact, I was at a meeting.
Et donc, je prends les transports,
So, I'm taking public transport,
je vais à ma réunion
I'm going to my meeting.
et là, je suis dans le métro
And there, I am on the subway.
et je suis quasiment allongée
and I am almost lying down
sur les places à quatre,
on the four-person tables,
les gens se poussent.
People are pushing each other.
J'ai un ventre
I have a stomach.
où en fait, je ne vois plus mes pieds,
where in fact, I can't see my feet anymore,
par ailleurs,
moreover,
et tu sais, tu marches en pingouin,
and you know, you walk like a penguin,
là, on est vraiment au bout.
There, we are really at the end.
Je suis à dix jours de la date,
I am ten days away from the date,
normalement,
normally,
de la date d'accouchement
of the due date
et je suis allongée comme ça
and I am lying down like this
et j'ai mal.
and it hurts.
Mais moi, je ne sais pas
But I don't know.
ce qui m'arrive
what is happening to me
parce qu'évidemment,
because obviously,
je n'ai lu aucun blog.
I haven't read any blogs.
Et donc, du coup,
And so, as a result,
j'arrive à ce rendez-vous
I am arriving at this meeting.
avec des clients,
with clients,
des partenaires, etc.
partners, etc.
C'est un truc très important.
It's a very important thing.
Et j'arrive,
And I'm coming,
je m'installe à peu près allongée,
I settle in approximately lying down,
je suis quasiment allongée
I am almost lying down.
sur le fauteuil
on the armchair
autour de la réunion
around the meeting
et régulièrement,
and regularly,
donc les gens parlent
so people talk
autour de la table
around the table
et moi, je pousse,
and me, I push,
je souffle fort.
I blow hard.
Et là, j'ai une amie,
And there, I have a friend,
enfin une partenaire
finally a partner
qui était à côté
who was next to
qui me dit Inès
who tells me Inès
et je dis Camille
and I say Camille
et elle me dit
and she tells me
tu sais que tu es
you know that you are
en train d'accoucher.
in labor.
Et je lui dis
And I said to him.
mais non,
but no,
je n'ai pas perdu les os.
I haven't lost the bones.
Elle me dit Inès,
She tells me Inès,
tu es en contraction.
you are having contractions.
Et je lui dis
And I said to him.
mais là, on est large,
but here, we have plenty of time,
donc on commence à compter
so we start counting
autour de la table
around the table
le temps
the time
entre les contractions.
between the contractions.
Et en fait,
And in fact,
j'étais déjà en travail.
I was already in labor.
Je prends un taxi
I'm taking a taxi.
en train de marcher
walking
en me disant
by telling me
donc non, j'appelle
so no, I'm calling
tout de suite.
right away.
On me dit mais non,
I am told but no,
il y a encore de l'espace.
There is still space.
Attendez encore un peu.
Wait a little longer.
Voilà.
There it is.
Donc moi, j'attends encore un peu.
So I am still waiting a little longer.
Je prends un taxi
I am taking a taxi.
pour rentrer chez moi.
to go home.
Le taxi,
The taxi,
il me voit rentrer
he sees me coming in
presque en glissant
almost while sliding
sur le dos,
on the back,
tête première
head first
comme ça
like that
pour rentrer dans le taxi.
to get into the taxi.
Et lui, il me regarde,
And he looks at me,
il fait
it is making
ah, vous ne me faites pas ça
Ah, you can't do this to me.
dans ma voiture.
in my car.
Mon Dieu.
My God.
En fait, c'est devenu
In fact, it has become
un copain après
a friend afterwards
parce que je lui dis
because I tell him/her
vous n'avez pas honte
Aren't you ashamed?
de me dire ça.
to tell me that.
Et puis finalement,
And then finally,
il s'est calmé
he calmed down
et puis il m'a trouvé drôle
and then he found me funny
et il m'a ramené chez moi.
And he took me home.
Et en fait,
And in fact,
j'ai accouché dans la nuit.
I gave birth during the night.
Et donc finalement,
And so finally,
pas de péridurale.
no epidural.
Je me baladais
I was strolling.
dans les couloirs
in the corridors
de l'hôpital
from the hospital
avec un sac poubelle
with a garbage bag
et je vomissais tellement.
and I was throwing up so much.
Les contractions
The contractions
étaient douloureuses.
were painful.
Donc moi,
So me,
ça, je tiens à le dire.
I want to say that.
C'est bien de vouloir accoucher
It's good to want to give birth.
de manière naturelle.
naturally.
Je trouve les mères
I find the mothers.
qui le font extraordinaire.
who makes it extraordinary.
Mais il ne faut pas
But it must not.
se mettre une pression.
putting oneself under pressure.
Moi, je crois
I believe.
qu'il faut donner
that must be given
un prix Nobel de la paix
a Nobel Peace Prize
à la personne
to the person
qui a inventé la péridurale.
Who invented the epidural?
Parce que c'est merveilleux.
Because it's wonderful.
Et je le dis
And I say it
parce que c'est quand même
because it is still
le thème de ce podcast.
the theme of this podcast.
Je lisais
I was reading.
un article scientifique
a scientific article
sur des études
on studies
de gynécologues femmes
female gynecologists
qui disaient justement
who said exactly
qu'en pente douce,
that slopes gently,
on est en train de...
we are in the process of...
Aujourd'hui,
Today,
il n'y a plus du tout
there is no more at all
de formation de gynécologue.
gynecologist training.
Il n'y a que des obstétriciens.
There are only obstetricians.
Maintenant,
Now,
c'est ton médecin traitant
it's your primary care physician
qui va faire ta gynécologie.
Who is going to do your gynecology?
Ce n'est plus du tout assuré
It's no longer guaranteed at all.
par l'éducation nationale.
by the national education.
Aujourd'hui,
Today,
cette formation en France,
this training in France,
tu as des déserts médicaux
you have medical deserts
de gynécologues.
of gynecologists.
Et cette espèce de culture
And this kind of culture
de revenir à l'ancien temps,
to return to the old times,
à coucher naturellement,
to sleep naturally,
etc.,
etc.
en réalité,
in reality,
elle partait du postulat
she started from the assumption
que c'est une manière
that it's a way
en pente douce
on a gentle slope
de resoumettre les femmes
to resubmit women
à de la dureté
to the hardness
de ce moment-là,
from that moment on,
alors que les femmes
while women
et le droit des femmes
and women's rights
a tout fait
totally
pour alléger les femmes
to lighten women
et leur apporter du confort,
and bring them comfort,
et notamment
and notably
via des péridurales.
through epidurals.
Et là,
And there,
où on est en train de dire
where we are saying
aux femmes,
to women,
vous n'êtes pas des vraies femmes
you are not real women
si vous faites une péridurale,
if you have an epidural,
en réalité,
in reality,
il faut accepter
it must be accepted
les femmes
the women
qui veulent le faire naturellement,
who want to do it naturally,
mais il ne faut pas
but one must not
stigmatiser les femmes
stigmatize women
qui voudraient se faire
who would like to make themselves
assister médicalement.
medically assist.
Et ça, je le dis parce que
And I say this because
moi, je crois que j'étais
me, I believe that I was
un peu tombée dans le truc
a little caught up in the thing
en me disant,
by telling me,
mais attends,
but wait,
on va le faire à l'ancienne.
We're going to do it the old-fashioned way.
Et en fait,
And in fact,
non, non,
no, no,
on m'a fait une péridurale
I was given an epidural.
et c'est la meilleure chose
and it's the best thing
qui me soit arrivée.
that happened to me.
Tu l'as eu à temps,
You got it in time,
la péridurale ?
the epidural?
Parce que parfois,
Because sometimes,
si on va trop loin,
if we go too far,
après,
after,
ils te disent
they tell you
qu'ils ne veulent plus te la mettre.
that they no longer want to put it to you.
Alors, ils me l'ont fait
So, they did it to me.
au dernier moment,
at the last moment,
ils m'ont fait la dose minimale.
They gave me the minimum dose.
Et le truc,
And the thing is,
c'est que c'était tellement...
it's just that it was so...
Moi, je ne prends jamais rien
I never take anything.
à peine un Doliprane
barely a Doliprane
une fois par an.
once a year.
Eh bien,
Well,
je ne sentais plus mes jambes
I could no longer feel my legs.
et je n'ai jamais senti
and I have never felt
mon accouchement.
my childbirth.
Donc, j'ai poussé
So, I pushed.
et on me l'a mis sur moi.
and they put it on me.
D'accord.
Okay.
Je n'ai pas senti
I didn't feel.
mon accouchement.
my childbirth.
Comme une lettre à la poste.
Like a letter in the mail.
Comme une lettre à la poste, voilà.
Like a letter in the mail, here it is.
Mais j'ai souffert avant.
But I have suffered before.
Et alors,
And so,
comment après s'est passée
how did it go afterwards
la reprise du travail ?
The return to work?
Caroline ?
Caroline?
Moi, j'ai eu l'impression
I had the feeling.
qu'il n'y avait même pas
that there wasn't even
de transition, en fait,
transitional, in fact,
entre l'accouchement
between childbirth
et la reprise du travail.
and the return to work.
En plus,
In addition,
alors moi,
so me,
j'ai accouché par césarienne
I gave birth by cesarean section.
et là,
and there,
c'était la quatrième césarienne.
It was the fourth cesarean section.
Sauf que c'était une césarienne
Except that it was a cesarean.
que j'ai eue à 43 ans
that I had at 43 years old
et que c'est une césarienne
and that it's a cesarean section
que j'ai vraiment plus mal vécue
that I really lived through more painfully
que les précédentes.
than the previous ones.
Douloureuse,
Painful,
le corps qui met
the body that puts
beaucoup plus de temps
much more time
à se remettre.
to recover.
Enfin, physiquement,
Finally, physically,
j'étais vraiment
I was really
très, très éprouvée.
very, very tested.
Mais en même temps,
But at the same time,
voilà,
there you go,
j'avais mon petit moteur intérieur
I had my little inner engine.
qui me disait,
who was telling me,
bon, ben voilà,
well, there you go,
le bébé, il est là,
the baby, he is here,
c'est bon, ça s'est fait.
It's done, it's over.
Maintenant,
Now,
il faut passer à la phase 2
We need to move on to phase 2.
de ton projet
of your project
de création d'entreprise.
of business creation.
Et donc, en fait,
And so, actually,
on en parlait tout à l'heure,
we were just talking about it.
mais j'étais dans une chambre
but I was in a room
avec mon bébé.
with my baby.
Je faisais les nuits avec lui
I was spending the nights with him.
pendant qu'il se réveillait.
while he was waking up.
Je me remettais à mon ordinateur.
I was getting back to my computer.
Enfin, je dormais
Finally, I was sleeping.
avec un ordinateur
with a computer
et un bébé dans la même pièce
and a baby in the same room
et ça a duré pendant
and it lasted for
trois, quatre mois comme ça.
three, four months like that.
Et en fait,
And in fact,
je ne sais pas
I don't know.
ce qui s'est passé
what happened
ni dans mon corps
nor in my body
ni dans mon esprit
nor in my mind
à ce moment-là.
at that moment.
Enfin, j'étais...
Finally, I was...
Mais c'est pas sain.
But it's not healthy.
Et d'ailleurs,
And besides,
c'est pas du tout
it's not at all
quelque chose
something
que je recommande.
that I recommend.
D'ailleurs,
Besides,
c'est peut-être
it’s perhaps
quelque chose
something
qui, au contraire,
who, on the contrary,
devrait servir
should serve
à d'autres futures mamans
to other future moms
pour ne pas le faire.
not to do it.
C'est que j'étais
It's just that I was.
en mode robot.
in robot mode.
Je me disais,
I was thinking to myself,
il faut que j'assure
I need to make sure.
sur tous les plans
on all levels
que je sois une super maman
that I am a super mom
pour ce bébé
for this baby
et que j'arrive à monter,
and that I manage to climb,
à rattraper tout le retard
to catch up on all the delays
que j'avais pu prendre
that I had been able to take
pendant ma grossesse
during my pregnancy
sur le développement
on development
de cette marque.
of this brand.
Plus gérer tout le quotidien,
No longer managing everyday life,
les autres enfants, etc.
the other children, etc.
Et je suis rentrée
And I came back.
dans une espèce de...
in a kind of...
Ouais,
Yeah,
format robotique.
robotic format.
J'étais une machine.
I was a machine.
Machine de guerre,
War machine,
mais...
but...
Donc, j'ai tout fait,
So, I did everything,
mais jusqu'à
but until
limite burn-out.
burn-out limit.
Enfin, c'était pas un burn-out,
Finally, it wasn't a burnout,
mais une grosse,
but a big one,
grosse fatigue physique.
great physical fatigue.
Mon mari,
My husband,
qui me le disait
who was telling me that
tous les jours,
every day,
parce qu'il voyait ça aussi.
because he saw that too.
Il m'a pas laissé
He didn't let me.
toute seule faire ça,
all alone to do that,
mais comme je le disais,
but as I was saying,
c'était compliqué
it was complicated
parce qu'on est sur
because we are sure
des rythmes de vie
life rhythms
totalement différents.
totally different.
Il travaille la nuit
He works at night.
et la journée,
and the day,
il est rarement à Paris,
he is rarely in Paris,
donc on se voit pas beaucoup.
So we don't see each other much.
Et lui,
And him,
il était en plus
he was moreover
dans une phase de sa carrière
in a phase of his career
où il était à fond les ballons.
where he was going full throttle.
Donc, vraiment,
So, really,
compliqué de m'aider,
complicated to help me,
même si c'était pas du tout
even if it was not at all
l'envie qu'il lui en manquait.
the desire that he was lacking.
Et puis, à un moment,
And then, at one moment,
il m'a dit,
he told me,
bon, stop là.
Okay, stop there.
Tu sais,
You know,
tu vas pas tenir.
You're not going to hold on.
C'est juste les six premiers
It's just the first six.
mois de ta boîte
month of your box
avec un bébé
with a baby
et tu peux pas
and you can't
continuer comme ça.
keep it up.
Et c'est à partir
And it is from
de ce moment-là
from that moment on
qu'effectivement,
that indeed,
j'ai repris
I started again.
cette nounou
this nanny
qu'on avait depuis très longtemps,
that we had for a very long time,
mais qui faisait
but who was doing
que les sorties d'école
that the school dismissals
et qui est venue m'aider
and who came to help me
plusieurs heures par jour
several hours a day
à la maison,
at home,
juste rien que pour
just nothing but for
que je m'accorde des temps,
that I allow myself some time,
mais même de repos,
but even at rest,
que je puisse dormir,
that I may sleep,
etc.
etc.
Mais donc,
But then,
j'ai pas eu,
I didn't get it.
en fait,
in fact,
ce que j'ai connu
what I have known
avec mes trois précédentes
with my three previous ones
grossesses en salariat
pregnancies in employment
et ça,
and that,
c'est quand même
it's still
le confort du salariat,
the comfort of salaried employment,
même si je suis tout à fait
even if I am completely
d'accord avec toi,
I agree with you,
je trouve que c'est très compliqué
I find that it is very complicated.
d'avoir des enfants
to have children
quand on est dans
when one is in
des grosses entreprises,
large companies,
petites ou grosses d'ailleurs.
small or big elsewhere.
Là, non,
There, no,
c'est difficile.
It's difficult.
Le retour est encore
The return is still.
plus difficile,
more difficult,
je trouve,
I find,
parce que,
because,
comme tu dis,
as you say,
on t'a pas attendu
We didn't wait for you.
et on t'a vite remplacé aussi,
and you were quickly replaced too,
donc tu te fous
so you're joking
une pression
a pressure
encore plus importante.
even more important.
Mais,
But,
quand,
when,
au début,
at the beginning,
on a eu des moments,
we had moments,
où au moins,
or at least,
t'as quand même
you still have
une période de congé maternité
a maternity leave period
qui fait que,
which means that,
voilà,
there you go,
pendant quelques mois,
for several months,
tu t'occupes de ton bébé,
you take care of your baby,
c'est crevant,
it's exhausting,
c'est épuisant,
it's exhausting,
on dort pas,
we don't sleep,
etc.
etc.
Et puis,
And then,
tu t'inquiètes pour ton travail,
you are worried about your job,
mais quand même,
but still,
c'est un temps consacré
it's a dedicated time
à la mère et à l'enfant.
to the mother and to the child.
Et quand t'es entrepreneur,
And when you're an entrepreneur,
t'as pas ce temps-là,
you don't have that time,
parce que,
because,
toi-même,
yourself,
tu te l'accorderas jamais,
you will never allow yourself that,
parce que tu te dis,
because you tell yourself,
je peux pas,
I can't.
je peux pas me permettre ça.
I can't afford that.
Et ça,
And that,
c'est très dur,
it's very hard,
ouais,
yeah,
c'est très dur.
it's very hard.
Et alors,
And then,
après,
after,
ça dépend,
it depends,
je pense aussi,
I think so too,
du niveau d'entreprenariat
of the level of entrepreneurship
auquel tu te places.
to which you devote yourself.
Tu vois,
You see,
quand t'es déjà
when you are already
un peu plus avancée,
a little further along,
tu le disais,
you were saying it,
peut-être qu'avec
maybe with
une deuxième grossesse,
a second pregnancy,
tu gères les choses
You're managing things.
un peu différemment.
a little differently.
Et encore,
And yet,
tu t'autorises certainement
you certainly allow yourself
pas un congé
not a day off
comme quand on est salarié,
like when you are an employee,
mais ça,
but that,
je trouve,
I find,
en tout cas,
in any case,
que c'est une partie
that it's a game
qui est très compliquée
which is very complicated
à gérer
to manage
quand t'es à la fois
when you're both
entrepreneuse
entrepreneur (female)
et jeune maman.
and young mom.
Et quand t'es seule aussi,
And when you're alone too,
parce qu'alors,
because then,
toi,
you,
Anouk,
Anouk,
avec ton premier enfant,
with your first child,
comment s'est passé
how did it go
après la reprise
after the recovery
que toi,
than you,
t'es associée ?
Are you a partner?
Comment est-ce que
How is it that
ça s'est passé ?
What happened?
Alors moi,
Well, me,
j'avais l'illusion
I had the illusion.
que j'allais accoucher
that I was going to give birth
et retourner avec ma poussette
and return with my stroller
au bureau,
at the office,
toute pimpante.
all spruced up.
Pour moi,
For me,
c'est le moment difficile.
It's the difficult moment.
Je pensais que c'était
I thought it was
la grossesse
pregnancy
et qu'une fois qu'il serait là,
and once he was there,
tout allait bien.
Everything was fine.
Je n'avais pas pensé
I hadn't thought.
qu'en fait,
what is it about,
une fois que le bébé est là,
once the baby is here,
on ne dort plus.
We no longer sleep.
On n'a plus une minute
We don't have a minute left.
rien que d'aller au toilette
just going to the toilet
ou de prendre une douche.
or to take a shower.
C'est une mission.
It's a mission.
Et du coup,
So,
là,
there,
j'ai déchanté.
I became disillusioned.
Là,
There,
quand il est arrivé,
when he arrived,
je disais à mon associé
I was telling my partner.
parce que du coup,
because of that,
la fin de ma première grossesse
the end of my first pregnancy
où je suis alitée,
where I am bedridden,
je lève un petit peu le pied.
I'm easing off a little bit.
Lisa,
Lisa,
elle prend tout pour elle.
She takes everything personally.
À ce moment-là,
At that moment,
on fait vraiment
we really do
tout l'opérationnel.
all the operational.
Donc là,
So there,
l'opérationnel,
the operational
c'est juste des heures
it's just hours
bêtes et méchantes de travail
beasts and wicked in work
qu'il faut aligner
that needs to be aligned
toute la journée.
all day long.
Je lui dis,
I tell him/her,
t'inquiète pas,
don't worry,
j'accouche bientôt,
I'm giving birth soon,
je vais revenir.
I am going to come back.
Là,
There,
j'accouche.
I'm giving birth.
Du coup,
So,
j'ai une césarienne aussi
I also have a cesarean.
pour mes deux accouchements.
for my two births.
Très dur de se remettre
Very hard to recover.
de la césarienne.
of the cesarean section.
Je n'ai pas pu marcher
I couldn't walk.
pendant deux semaines et demie.
for two and a half weeks.
Et là,
And there,
du coup,
so,
j'essaye absolument
I'm trying absolutely.
de revenir au travail
to return to work
dès que je peux
as soon as I can
alors que je peux
while I can
à peine marcher
barely walk
sauf que je m'épuise.
Except that I'm exhausting myself.
Et là,
And there,
j'ai pris une pente
I took a slope.
très, très mauvaise.
very, very bad.
Deux mois après,
Two months later,
je suis en burn-out total.
I am in total burnout.
Je ne peux plus rien faire.
I can't do anything anymore.
Je suis enfermée dans le noir.
I am trapped in the dark.
Je pleure toute la journée.
I cry all day long.
Je suis partie de chez moi.
I left my home.
Je suis allée vivre
I went to live.
chez mon père
at my father's house
en lui disant,
by telling him,
occupe-toi du bébé.
Take care of the baby.
Je ne suis plus capable.
I am no longer able.
Et c'est à ce moment-là
And it's at that moment
où du coup,
so where,
j'ai eu
I had
j'ai commencé à essayer
I started to try.
de faire un mix d'allaitement
to create a breastfeeding mix
puisqu'en plus,
since furthermore,
j'ai allaité.
I breastfed.
Donc ça,
So that,
c'est très violent,
it's very violent,
très dur.
very hard.
En plus,
In addition,
je me suis vachement isolée
I have isolated myself a lot.
parce que les gens
because people
comprennent.
understand.
Déjà,
Already,
je ne voulais pas montrer aux gens
I didn't want to show it to people.
que j'étais en souffrance
that I was suffering
parce qu'on voit tellement
because we see so much
de superwomen entrepreneurs
of superwomen entrepreneurs
qui mènent tous deux fronts.
which lead both fronts.
Donc moi,
So me,
je me disais,
I was telling myself,
pourquoi moi,
why me,
je n'y arrive pas ?
I can't do it?
Je commençais à m'enfoncer
I was beginning to sink into it.
dans le truc.
in the thing.
Mais je me souviens
But I remember
quand mon mec qui partait
when my guy was leaving
travailler le matin,
work in the morning,
j'avais la boule au ventre
I had a knot in my stomach.
de me dire,
to tell me,
ça y est,
Here we go,
là,
there,
c'est la journée,
it's the day,
je suis toute seule avec lui
I am all alone with him.
alors que je dois essayer
while I have to try
de me connecter au call
to connect to the call
alors qu'il va pleurer.
while he is going to cry.
À 18h,
At 6 PM,
je n'avais toujours pas pris
I still hadn't taken.
ma douche,
my shower,
on ne pouvait plus.
we could no longer.
Je ne mangeais même pas
I wasn't even eating.
le midi
noon
et à un moment,
and at one point,
tout s'est effondré.
everything has collapsed.
En fait,
In fact,
je ne suis jamais revenue au taf.
I never came back to work.
J'ai mis quatre mois
I took four months.
à revenir entre mon accouchement
to return between my delivery
et quand je suis vraiment revenue
and when I really came back
grâce à une nounou.
thanks to a nanny.
En fait,
In fact,
c'est cette expérience-là
it's that experience
où je me suis dit,
where I told myself,
c'est bon,
it's good,
je suis vaccinée,
I am vaccinated.
je ne peux pas,
I can't,
je n'y arrive pas,
I can't do it.
je patauge dans la semoule.
I'm floundering in the semolina.
Je commençais à avoir
I was beginning to have
du ressentiment
resentment
assez violent
rather violent
envers mon conjoint
towards my partner
parce que lui,
because he,
il retournait travailler
he was going back to work
et en même temps,
and at the same time,
il n'avait pas le choix.
He had no choice.
Mais moi,
But me,
j'avais l'impression
I had the impression.
que c'était une injustice totale
that it was a total injustice
parce que pourquoi
because why
c'était moi
It was me.
qui devais garder l'enfant ?
Who was supposed to look after the child?
Et donc ça,
And so that,
ça a été assez violent.
It was quite violent.
Donc là,
So there,
pour le deuxième,
for the second,
j'avais tout prévu,
I had anticipated everything,
j'allaitais,
I was breastfeeding,
mais j'ai vite mis en place
but I quickly set up
un mix d'allaitement
a mix of breastfeeding
parce qu'il y a beaucoup
because there is a lot
de femmes qui veulent allaiter
of women who want to breastfeed
mais c'est vrai
but it's true
quand on reprend le travail tôt,
when you start work early,
ce qui est le cas
what is the case
de beaucoup d'entrepreneurs,
of many entrepreneurs,
il faut quand même
it is still necessary
s'organiser un petit peu
get organized a little bit
pour pouvoir déléguer.
to be able to delegate.
Ce n'est pas possible
It is not possible.
de travailler
to work
et de garder l'enfant.
and to keep the child.
Ça,
That,
il faut quand même
it is still necessary
l'avoir clairement en tête.
to have it clearly in mind.
Ça ne fonctionne pas
It doesn't work.
ou ça ne fonctionne
where it doesn't work
que sur le très court terme
only in the very short term
avant le burn-out.
before burnout.
La fameuse dépression
The famous depression
post-partum
postpartum
puis franchement,
then frankly,
après,
after,
c'est un peu chiant
it's a bit annoying
d'en sortir
to get out of it
puis ça laisse des traces.
then it leaves marks.
Quand j'étais enceinte
When I was pregnant
la deuxième fois
the second time
avec mon conjoint,
with my partner,
on s'est regardé
we looked at each other
en mode
in mode
on va éviter ça cette fois-ci.
We're going to avoid that this time.
Donc,
So,
on a tout mis en place
We have set everything up.
pour ne pas repasser par là.
so as not to go through there again.
C'est un constat
It's a statement.
quand on est entrepreneur,
when you are an entrepreneur,
on doit retravailler tôt.
We must work early.
C'est difficile
It's difficult.
de ne pas le vivre
not to experience it
comme une frustration
like a frustration
parce qu'on a plein de libertés
because we have plenty of freedoms
par ailleurs plus tard
furthermore later
quand le rythme tourne.
when the rhythm turns.
Il y a des journées
There are days
où on peut plus être flexible
where we can be more flexible
soit pour aller chercher
either to go get
à 18h30
at 6:30 PM
quand on n'est pas salarié.
when one is not an employee.
On choisit son emploi du temps.
One chooses their schedule.
Cette fois-ci,
This time,
je me dis juste
I just tell myself.
oui,
yes,
je n'ai pas le choix
I have no choice.
mais c'est vrai
but it's true
que moi,
than me,
j'ai le choix parfois
I have a choice sometimes.
de passer une demi-journée
to spend half a day
dans la semaine
during the week
avec mes enfants
with my children
et c'est moi qui choisis,
and it's me who chooses,
c'est moi qui décide.
It's me who decides.
Il ne faut pas le vivre
One should not experience it.
comme une frustration
like a frustration
ou comme un truc négatif.
or like a negative thing.
Ça va avec le jeu
It goes with the game.
de l'entrepreneuriat.
entrepreneurship.
Et comment est-ce que vous avez
And how did you have
toutes trouvé l'équilibre
everyone found balance
entre la vie pro
between professional life
et la vie familiale
and family life
quand vous avez eu
when you had
vos enfants Inès ?
Your children Inès?
Comment est-ce que tu as
How do you have?
trouvé cette balance ?
found this scale?
Ou est-ce que tu l'as trouvée
Where did you find it?
parce que peut-être
because maybe
que vous ne l'avez pas encore
that you do not have it yet
100% trouvée ?
100% found?
Comme je te le disais,
As I was telling you,
je ne me projetais pas du tout
I wasn't projecting myself at all.
en tant que maman
as a mom
avant de devenir mère
before becoming a mother
et quand j'ai eu Ulysse,
and when I had Ulysses,
c'était une évidence
it was obvious
et je crois que
and I believe that
ma vie de mère,
my life as a mother,
en tant que femme,
as a woman,
qu'on soit salarié,
whether we are employees,
qu'on soit entrepreneur,
whether one is an entrepreneur,
quand on devient mère,
when one becomes a mother,
on devient plusieurs femmes,
we become several women,
on devient un pluriel.
we become a plural.
Et ma casquette de maman,
And my mom hat,
c'est devenu la plus importante.
It has become the most important.
Je pense que c'est très important
I think it's very important.
pour moi.
for me.
Je dis souvent,
I often say,
en fait,
in fact,
je crois que je suis alignée
I believe I am aligned.
et bien dans ma peau
and well in my skin
quand je suis à l'endroit
when I am in the place
où je dois être.
where I must be.
C'est une question
It's a question.
que je me pose régulièrement.
that I regularly ask myself.
Est-ce que je suis là
Am I here?
où je devrais être ?
Where should I be?
Et ça veut dire
And that means
laisser passer,
let go,
encore une fois,
once again,
je reprends cette expression,
I take up this expression,
laisser passer des trains.
let trains pass.
On va manquer des opportunités.
We will miss opportunities.
Donc il y a ce fameux faux mot
So there is this famous fake word.
dont on parle beaucoup.
of which there is much talk.
Moi, j'en ai fait mon meilleur pote
I made him my best buddy.
parce qu'en effet,
because indeed,
je vais louper des opportunités.
I am going to miss opportunities.
Mais qu'est-ce qui m'importe le plus ?
But what matters to me the most?
En réalité, moi,
In reality, me,
c'est de passer du temps
it's about spending time
avec ma famille.
with my family.
C'est ce que j'aime le plus.
That's what I love the most.
Et je l'ai toujours dit,
And I have always said it,
si demain,
if tomorrow,
je n'arrive pas
I can't do it.
à continuer mes affaires,
to continue my business,
je reprendrai un petit travail.
I will take on a small job again.
Il n'y a zéro égo.
There is zero ego.
Si c'est le plus petit des métiers,
If it is the smallest of professions,
je le prendrai
I will take it.
s'il faut que je nourrisse ma famille.
if I have to feed my family.
Donc, en fait,
So, in fact,
je crois
I believe.
qu'il y a beaucoup de femmes
that there are many women
qui disent
who say
je veux tout,
I want everything,
je peux tout avoir.
I can have it all.
Moi, j'admire,
I admire,
je suis fascinée par tout
I am fascinated by everything.
ce que je ne sais pas faire.
what I cannot do.
Mais ce n'est pas mon parti pris.
But that is not my bias.
Moi, je crois
Me, I believe.
qu'il y a des choix à faire.
that there are choices to be made.
Il y a des cycles,
There are cycles,
comme on le dit tout à l'heure,
as we said earlier,
il y a des cycles,
there are cycles,
mais il y a des momentum.
but there are some moments.
Tu l'as très bien dit aussi,
You said it very well too,
Caroline.
Caroline.
Ce temps-là,
That time,
tu le rattraperas plus tard.
You will catch up with him later.
Et c'est des moments.
And these are moments.
Tu l'as aussi dit, Anouk.
You said it too, Anouk.
Donc, moi,
So, me,
je m'impose à 18h30
I show up at 6:30 PM.
jusqu'à 20h30,
until 8:30 PM,
à peu près 21h.
About 9 PM.
C'est un moment de qualité
It's a quality moment.
avec mon enfant et mon conjoint.
with my child and my partner.
Après, je reprends le travail.
Afterward, I get back to work.
Du coup, c'est vrai que je dors peu,
So, it's true that I sleep little,
mais je n'ai pas besoin
but I don't need
tout le temps de dormir beaucoup.
all the time to sleep a lot.
Le week-end,
The weekend,
on est en famille
we are with family
et c'est important.
and it's important.
Et j'ai accepté l'idée
And I accepted the idea.
que tous les projets
that all the projects
que je pensais
that I thought
qui sortiraient de terre très vite
that would emerge from the ground very quickly
vont prendre beaucoup plus de temps.
will take much longer.
Et du coup,
So,
il y a cette injonction
there is this injunction
dont on parlait tout à l'heure
that we were talking about just now
au déjeuner,
for lunch,
des personnes,
people,
souvent de ta communauté,
often from your community,
mais très bienveillantes
but very caring
et qui sont pressées
and who are in a hurry
de voir des choses arriver
to see things happen
et te disent
and tell you
alors, ça sort quand ?
So, when is it coming out?
Et ton documentaire
And your documentary
et ton livre et ton film
and your book and your movie
et alors,
and then,
ah, tu n'as pas posté
Ah, you didn't post.
beaucoup cette semaine,
a lot this week,
mais en réalité,
but in reality,
c'est qu'il y a
it's that there is
des vraies vies derrière
real lives behind
et que c'est des choix
and that it's choices
et des arbitrages
and arbitrations
et je m'en accommode.
and I make do with it.
Donc, j'essaie vraiment
So, I'm really trying.
de me défaire de la tyrannie
to rid myself of tyranny
de l'ici et du maintenant,
from the here and the now,
d'accepter le temps long
to accept the long time
et c'est le prix que ça coûte
and that's the price it costs
d'avoir une vie de famille épanouie.
to have a fulfilling family life.
Et est-ce que tu trouves
And do you find
dans tout ça
in all of that
un petit peu de temps pour toi ?
A little bit of time for you?
Est-ce que tu t'en accordes
Do you agree with yourself?
en fait, finalement ?
in fact, ultimately?
Absolument, oui.
Absolutely, yes.
Oui, non, ça, c'est très important.
Yes, no, that is very important.
Je m'en accorde.
I allow myself that.
Donc, je vais au cinéma,
So, I'm going to the movies,
je lis,
I read,
je me balade à Paris,
I'm wandering around Paris.
je prends des cafés
I have coffees.
avec mes copines.
with my girlfriends.
C'est important pour moi.
It's important to me.
Je ne l'ai pas fait
I didn't do it.
pendant deux ans et demi
for two and a half years
à peu près, trois ans,
about three years,
parce que j'étais complètement
because I was completely
dans la culpabilité
in guilt
de ne pas être une bonne maman.
of not being a good mom.
Et donc, dès que je partais,
And so, as soon as I left,
moi, je fais partie de ces mamans
I am one of those moms.
qui ne sont jamais parties
who never left
plus de trois jours
more than three days
loin de leur enfant.
far from their child.
Alors que lui, il vit très bien.
While he is doing very well.
On a l'impression
It feels like.
qu'on les traumatise.
that they are traumatized.
En réalité, on est toutes seules
In reality, we are all alone.
avec notre trauma,
with our trauma,
notre enfant.
our child.
Mais moi, voilà,
But me, here it is,
je suis très bien.
I am very well.
Je suis très bien.
I am very well.
C'est quelque chose
It's something.
qui m'a...
who has...
En tout cas, aujourd'hui,
In any case, today,
j'ai un petit revival
I have a little revival.
et j'adore sortir.
and I love going out.
J'adore passer du temps en moi
I love spending time with myself.
en tant que femme.
as a woman.
Je prends soin de moi.
I take care of myself.
Voilà, c'est des moments,
Here, it's about moments,
en fait.
in fact.
C'est des moments.
It's about moments.
Je vis vraiment dans le présent
I really live in the present.
et je me dis peut-être
and I tell myself maybe
que je vais retomber en burn-out.
that I am going to relapse into burnout.
Peut-être que je vais avoir
Maybe I will have.
un projet qui va mal se passer
a project that will go wrong
et peut-être que j'aurai
and maybe I will have
une deuxième grossesse
a second pregnancy
qui va mal se passer aussi
which is also going to go poorly
parce que personne n'est égale
because no one is equal
et que rien ne se ressemble.
and that nothing resembles anything.
Donc, je pense que tout ça,
So, I think that all of this,
moi, de devenir mère,
me, to become a mother,
ça m'a aussi fait
It also made me.
appris l'importance
learned the importance
du moment présent
of the present moment
mais également la peur, en fait.
but also fear, in fact.
T'as peur quand t'es mère.
You're scared when you're a mother.
T'as peur qu'il arrive
Are you afraid he will arrive?
quelque chose à ton enfant.
something to your child.
T'as peur que...
You're afraid that...
C'est tellement fou,
It's so crazy,
cette aventure.
this adventure.
Rien n'a de sens.
Nothing makes sense.
Il y a des trucs
There are some stuff.
qui n'ont pas de sens.
which make no sense.
Là, on parle,
There, we are talking,
on est quand même
we are still
des femmes privilégiées.
privileged women.
Moi, j'ai une grosse pense aussi
Me, I also have a big thought.
pour les mamans
for the moms
qui lancent des projets ambitieux
who launch ambitious projects
qui viennent d'un milieu social
who come from a social background
vulnérable
vulnerable
et qui n'auront jamais de nounou.
and who will never have a nanny.
Et elle, c'est terminé, en fait.
And it's over for her, actually.
C'est retour à la qualité.
It's a return to quality.
C'est le cas de départ.
This is the starting case.
Et en général,
And in general,
on va lui faire payer
We will make him pay.
le fait d'avoir quitté le salariat
the fact of having left salaried employment
et elle retrouvera
and she will find again
un truc en dessous.
a thing underneath.
Donc, moi, je crois
So, I believe
que c'est hyper important
that it's super important
de vivre les choses simplement,
to live things simply,
d'être déjà content
to already be happy
de se dire
to tell oneself
qu'on a des enfants
that we have children
en bonne santé
in good health
quand c'est le cas.
when it is the case.
Mais t'as tellement peur
But you're so afraid.
que tout arrive.
let everything happen.
Donc, il y a aussi
So, there is also
la gestion de l'absurde.
the management of the absurd.
Qu'est-ce que tu dis à une mère
What do you say to a mother?
où on te dit
where you're told
ton enfant est malade
your child is sick
et il a plus grand...
and he is bigger...
Pardon de parler de ça,
Sorry to talk about that,
mais c'est aussi ça,
but that’s also it,
la vie de mère, tu vois.
the life of a mother, you see.
Moi, j'y pense souvent.
I think about it often.
On te dit,
We tell you,
ton enfant ne va pas vivre.
your child will not live.
C'est absurde.
It's absurd.
Et comment tu gères l'absurde,
And how do you deal with the absurd,
ce qui n'a pas de sens ?
What doesn't make sense?
Tu le gères en accueillant,
You handle it by welcoming.
en fait.
in fact.
C'est tout.
That's all.
Ça va se passer comme ça.
It's going to happen like this.
Tu seras le genre de mère
You will be the kind of mother.
qui va dire,
who will say,
mon enfant,
my child,
je vais t'accompagner.
I will accompany you.
Je vais être avec toi.
I will be with you.
Donc, quand tu me dis
So, when you tell me
comment tu gères
how are you handling
et est-ce que...
and is it that...
Moi, je pense qu'on nous demande
I think we are being asked.
trop de gérer.
Too much to manage.
Apprécie,
Appreciate,
choisis tes combats,
choose your battles,
profite parce que tu ne sais pas
Enjoy because you don't know.
ce qu'on te dira demain,
what they will tell you tomorrow,
ce que tu vas être demain.
what you will be tomorrow.
Et voilà.
And there you go.
En tout cas, moi,
In any case, me,
c'est vraiment...
it's really...
Je n'ai pas de théorie.
I don't have a theory.
Je pense que je conseillerais
I think I would advise.
à toute mère et tout père
to every mother and every father
de vivre à fond le moment.
to live the moment to the fullest.
Et si on loupe des trains,
And if we miss some trains,
franchement, tant pis,
frankly, too bad,
il y en aura d'autres.
There will be others.
Oui, tu mets la famille
Yes, you put the family.
vraiment en priorité.
really as a priority.
Moi, je dis toujours,
I always say,
je suis mi-Amazon,
I am half-Amazon,
mi-Geisha.
half-Geisha.
J'ai mon cheval avec mon épée
I have my horse with my sword.
et je pars à la conquête
and I set out to conquer
de territoire
of territory
et à la maison,
and at home,
je suis complètement...
I am completely...
Ça aussi, il faut se l'autoriser.
We also need to allow ourselves that.
Il n'y a pas les femmes d'affaires
There are no businesswomen.
et de l'autre côté,
and on the other side,
les mamans qui cuisinent.
moms who cook.
Moi, j'adore être au service
I love being of service.
de ma famille,
of my family,
d'être...
to be...
Vraiment aux petits soins,
Truly attentive.
vraiment privante de camp
really private from camp
dans Desk Poet House Wives.
in Desk Poet House Wives.
Et dehors,
And outside,
je suis tout le contraire
I am the complete opposite.
et personne ne miserait un centime
and no one would bet a penny
sur le fait que je sois
on the fact that I am
comme ça à la maison.
like this at home.
Et Anouk, toi, maintenant
And Anouk, you, now
que tu as deux enfants en bas âge,
that you have two young children,
est-ce que tu arrives
Are you arriving?
à t'accorder du temps pour toi ?
to give yourself some time for you?
Alors déjà, le temps pour moi,
Well, first of all, the time for me,
je le mets en journée,
I wear it during the day,
souvent entre midi et deux
often between noon and two
parce qu'effectivement,
because indeed,
je suis un peu comme Inès,
I am a bit like Inès,
une maman poule.
a protective mother.
Moi, je suis heureuse
I am happy.
quand je suis avec mes enfants
when I'm with my children
collés à moi
stuck to me
et du coup, j'aime bien...
And so, I like it...
Même si je travaille beaucoup,
Even if I work a lot,
je peux rentrer quand même tôt
I can come back early anyway.
le soir parce que le soir,
in the evening because in the evening,
c'est un moment super quali
It's a super high-quality moment.
et qu'ils se couchent
and that they lie down
avec leur maman à côté,
with their mom beside them,
pour moi, c'est quand même important.
For me, it's still important.
Et du coup,
And so,
je cale ça en journée
I'll schedule that during the day.
ou si justement,
or if precisely,
une soirée,
an evening,
je vais prévoir en avance.
I will plan ahead.
Pour moi,
For me,
ça a vraiment mis un frein
It really put a brake on it.
quand même sur ma vie sociale.
still on my social life.
Alors, les événements professionnels
So, professional events
le soir,
in the evening,
je n'en parle même pas,
I'm not even talking about it,
ce n'est même pas une option pour moi.
That's not even an option for me.
Mais effectivement,
But indeed,
ce n'est pas une gestion.
it's not management.
Chaque jour,
Every day,
j'essaie de trouver un équilibre.
I'm trying to find a balance.
Il y a des jours
There are days
où je suis en télétravail
where I am working remotely
et je suis trop contente
and I am so happy
parce que j'ai l'impression
because I feel
de pouvoir profiter de mes enfants
to be able to enjoy my children
parce que je déjeune avec eux.
because I am having lunch with them.
Je peux les voir
I can see them.
quand ils travaillent de la sieste.
when they work during the nap.
Et il y a des jours,
And there are days,
je suis en télétravail,
I am working from home.
je me dis mais quel enfer
I'm telling myself, what hell.
d'être en télétravail
to be working remotely
parce que je les entends cligner
because I hear them blinking
et que je me suis dit
and that I said to myself
si j'étais au bureau,
if I were at the office,
ce sujet serait à l'éplute.
this subject would be to the peel.
Donc en fait,
So actually,
chaque jour est un peu différent.
Every day is a little different.
Juste chaque jour,
Just every day,
il faut se rappeler
we must remember
pourquoi j'ai fait ces choix,
why I made these choices,
pourquoi j'ai voulu avoir un enfant,
why I wanted to have a child,
pourquoi j'ai voulu être entrepreneur.
why I wanted to be an entrepreneur.
Parce que toutes ces galères,
Because all these struggles,
elles sont inhérentes à ces choix
they are inherent to these choices
qui m'apportent beaucoup de bonheur par ailleurs.
which bring me a lot of happiness as well.
Mais parce qu'après,
But because after,
je suis tombée là-dedans.
I fell into this.
Alors finalement,
So finally,
même si t'es salarié,
even if you are an employee,
tu restes acteur de ton destin.
You remain the actor of your destiny.
Là, par exemple,
There, for example,
je n'ai pas travaillé
I did not work.
pendant deux mois et demi
for two and a half months
quand je suis partie là
when I left there
en congé très récemment.
on leave very recently.
Mon poste, là, en revenant,
My position, there, upon returning,
il va être un peu réinventé.
He is going to be somewhat reinvented.
Pourtant, je ne suis qu'au CEO de ma boîte.
However, I am only the CEO of my company.
Mais parce qu'en même temps,
But because at the same time,
il y a des choses
there are things
que je n'ai pas faites
that I didn't do
pendant deux mois et demi
for two and a half months
et finalement, c'est très bien.
and finally, it is very good.
Et là, je vais devoir reprendre le lit
And now, I'm going to have to get back into bed.
sur certaines choses
on certain things
et réfléchir un petit peu
and think a little bit
à comment recréer mon poste.
how to recreate my position.
Et en entreprise,
And in business,
forcément, les entreprises,
necessarily, businesses,
elles s'organisent aussi
They are also organizing themselves.
pour gérer l'absence
to manage the absence
d'une salariée
of an employee
qui part en congé maternité.
who is going on maternity leave.
C'est très bien.
That's very good.
Et du coup, quand on revient,
And so, when we come back,
il faut aussi avoir communiqué
one must also have communicated
pour dire, là, mon poste,
to say, there, my position,
il n'est plus comme avant.
He is no longer the way he used to be.
Sur quoi je peux me mettre ?
What can I agree on?
C'est une organisation flexible,
It is a flexible organization,
l'entreprise.
the company.
Et souvent, on a l'impression
And often, we have the impression
que ça nous tombe dessus,
that it falls on us,
les décisions.
the decisions.
Alors, je pense qu'on peut
So, I think we can.
retourner un petit peu les choses
to turn things around a little bit
et que ça vienne aussi
and let it come too
de la personne
of the person
qui revient de congé maternité
who is coming back from maternity leave
en disant,
by saying,
ou paternité d'ailleurs,
or paternity for that matter,
en disant, moi,
saying, me,
je veux prendre ça.
I want to take that.
Maintenant que je suis revenue,
Now that I am back,
j'ai l'impression
I have the impression.
que l'organisation a un petit peu changé,
that the organization has changed a little bit,
donc peut-être que je peux
so maybe I can
me mettre plus sur ce pôle.
put me more on this pole.
Ça, c'est assez important
That is quite important.
d'avoir ça en tête
to have that in mind
parce qu'en fait,
because actually,
ce n'est pas une tare
it's not a defect
d'être absente plusieurs mois.
to be absent for several months.
En fait, ça peut même être
In fact, it can even be
assez bénéfique
quite beneficial
de prendre du recul
to take a step back
sur l'organisation,
on the organization,
de revenir avec des idées nouvelles.
to return with new ideas.
Aujourd'hui, malheureusement,
Today, unfortunately,
comme ça pèse que sur les femmes,
as it only weighs on women,
le congé maternité est assez long,
maternity leave is quite long,
on est surexposé
we are overexposed
et ça crée un biais.
and it creates a bias.
J'ai un couple d'amis
I have a couple of friends.
dont le papa,
whose dad,
qui vient d'être papa,
who just became a dad,
travaille chez Google
works at Google
et chez Google,
and at Google,
les papas,
the dads,
comme les mamans,
like the moms,
ont six mois de congé parentalité
have six months of parental leave
et il avait super peur
and he was really scared
d'annoncer au bureau
to announce at the office
quand sa femme était enceinte.
when his wife was pregnant.
Je dis, tu vois,
I say, you see,
ça, c'est ce que toutes les femmes
this is what all women
vivent quand elles tombent enceintes
live when they become pregnant
parce que qu'on soit entrepreneur
because whether we are entrepreneurs
et quand on doit l'annoncer
and when we have to announce it
à ses associés,
to his associates,
oui, c'est un petit stress.
Yes, it's a little stress.
Quand on doit l'annoncer
When it needs to be announced.
à son employeur,
to his employer,
c'est un stress.
It's a stress.
Du coup, pour moi,
So, for me,
l'organisation vie pro,
work-life organization,
vie perso,
personal life,
elle serait aussi
she would also be
beaucoup plus facilitée
much easier
si on arrêtait
if we stopped
de culpabiliser les mères
to make mothers feel guilty
et déjà,
and already,
si ça portait à la fois
if it were both
sur les papas
on dads
et sur les mamans
and about moms
et ça part du démarrage
And it starts from the beginning.
du congé
of leave
à la naissance des enfants,
at the birth of children,
ce serait peut-être
it might be
un peu plus bienveillant,
a little more benevolent,
un petit peu mieux organisé
a little better organized
parce qu'aujourd'hui,
because today,
en entreprise,
in business,
j'ai beaucoup de copines
I have many girlfriends.
qui sont en conseil en strat,
who are in strategy consulting,
en finance,
in finance,
elles disent,
they say,
les gens,
the people,
ils vont me juger
They are going to judge me.
en pensant
thinking
que je mets entre parenthèses
that I put in parentheses
ma carrière
my career
parce que je décide
because I decide
d'avoir un enfant.
having a child.
Je dis, mais comment,
I say, but how,
comment c'est possible ?
how is it possible?
Et le nombre de copines
And the number of girlfriends
qui se sont fait sortir
who got kicked out
parce qu'elles ont eu un enfant
because they had a child
et quand elles sont revenues,
and when they returned,
on les a gentiment
we kindly have them
mises à la porte.
evictions.
Ce n'est pas anecdotique,
It's not anecdotal,
ça arrive encore très souvent,
it still happens very often,
même dans les sulopes.
even in the sulopes.
On en connaît toutes.
We all know them.
Pour moi, justement,
For me, precisely,
cette organisation
this organization
vie pro, vie perso,
work life, personal life,
là, c'est un geste,
there, it's a gesture,
c'est un changement
it's a change
de mentalité
of mentality
et c'est les entreprises
and it's the companies
qui doivent aller
who must go
vers les jeunes mamans
to young mothers
et les jeunes parents,
and young parents,
pas que les jeunes mamans,
not just young mothers,
pour changer ça
to change that
parce qu'on se dit toujours
because we always say to ourselves
comment on jongle,
how to juggle,
mais en fait,
but in fact,
on ne devrait pas jongler.
One should not juggle.
Ça devrait être possible
It should be possible.
de concilier vie de famille
to reconcile family life
et vie professionnelle.
and professional life.
Et en tant qu'entrepreneur,
And as an entrepreneur,
tu as le choix
you have the choice
de te poser la question.
to ask you the question.
Donc, tu réfléchis
So, you're thinking.
à l'organisation optimale.
to the optimal organization.
C'est un équilibre précaire,
It is a precarious balance,
mais tu essayes.
but you try.
Quand tu es salarié,
When you are an employee,
on ne te pose même pas la question.
We don't even ask you the question.
Comme tu disais, Caroline,
As you were saying, Caroline,
quand tu étais salarié,
when you were an employee,
quand tu étais au bureau,
when you were at the office,
tu ne te posais pas la question.
You weren't asking yourself the question.
Mais en même temps,
But at the same time,
c'est très bien,
it's very good,
mais du coup,
but as a result,
tu n'avais pas cette flexibilité,
you didn't have that flexibility,
c'était envie de t'arranger.
I wanted to help you out.
Ça, c'est un peu dommageable,
That's a bit unfortunate,
je trouve,
I find,
quand on a cette mentalité.
when one has this mentality.
Pareil, on finit super tard
Likewise, we finish super late.
en France,
in France,
surtout à Paris, le soir.
especially in Paris, in the evening.
On aime bien.
We like it.
Si on part avant
If we leave early.
19h du bureau,
7 PM from the office,
à Paris,
in Paris,
on a l'impression
it feels like
d'avoir pris l'après,
having taken the afternoon,
alors que dans une mentalité
while in a mindset
plus anglo-saxonne,
more Anglo-Saxon,
j'ai travaillé à l'étranger.
I worked abroad.
Nous, on pouvait partir
We could leave.
à 17h, c'est normal
At 5 PM, it's normal.
de partir à 17h,
leaving at 5 PM,
mais par contre,
but on the other hand,
il fallait avoir fait son travail.
One had to have done their work.
Il y avait toujours un ratio
There was always a ratio.
au niveau du travail,
at work,
finalement,
finally,
qu'on n'a pas en France
that we don't have in France
et qu'on préfère
and that we prefer
que les gens prennent
that people take
deux heures de pause-déj,
two hours of lunch break,
les pauses café.
coffee breaks.
C'est vraiment une manière
It's really a way.
de travailler
to work
totalement différente.
totally different.
Et effectivement,
And indeed,
quand tu as un enfant
when you have a child
que tu dois partir plus tôt
that you have to leave earlier
pour aller le chercher
to go get him/her
à l'école,
at school,
à la crèche,
at the daycare,
peu importe,
it doesn't matter,
tout de suite,
right away,
c'est un peu mal vu.
It's a bit frowned upon.
C'est la productivité.
It's productivity.
Moi, je n'ai jamais été
Me, I have never been.
aussi efficace
also effective
que quand je veux être
that when I want to be
chez moi au plus tard
at my place at the latest
à 19h.
at 7 PM.
Du coup, la journée,
So, during the day,
elle est bien rythmée,
it is well-paced,
bien cadrée
well-framed
et c'est très bien.
and that's very good.
Je me permets juste
I just take the liberty
une petite parenthèse
a small parenthesis
de ce que dit Anouk
of what Anouk says
qui est très important
who is very important
parce que, par exemple,
because, for example,
en ce moment,
at the moment,
on se rend compte aussi
we also realize
qu'il y a un immense angle mort
that there is a huge blind spot
sur la vision du gouvernement français,
on the vision of the French government,
par exemple,
for example,
sur l'injonction
on the injunction
à avoir une parité
to have parity
dans l'entrepreneuriat,
in entrepreneurship,
notamment la French Tech
notably French Tech
et le grand projet
and the big project
des deux derniers quinquennats.
of the last two five-year terms.
Et à la fois,
And at the same time,
on nous demande
we are asked
de faire plus d'enfants
to have more children
et il faut réarmer,
and we need to rearm,
d'ailleurs,
besides,
démographiquement la France.
demographically France.
Mais oui,
But yes,
si tu veux une parité
if you want a parity
et que tu veux plus d'enfants,
and that you want more children,
à un moment donné,
at one point,
il va falloir aussi nous mettre
We will also need to get ourselves ready.
un système retraite,
a retirement system,
un système minimum
a minimum system
de rémunération
of compensation
quand on démarre
when you start
parce qu'on a encore
because we still have
cette impression,
this impression,
tu vois,
you see,
moi, j'ai toujours
me, I always have
beaucoup d'admiration
a lot of admiration
pour des femmes
for women
qui parlent de leur césarienne
who talk about their cesarean section
comme si tout ça
as if all that
était normal.
was normal.
Non, mais c'est grave
No, but it's serious.
une césarienne.
a cesarean section.
C'est un traumatisme
It's a trauma.
pour le corps,
for the body,
pour la psychologie aussi.
for psychology as well.
Il y a des femmes
There are women.
qui en meurent.
who die from it.
Donc, en fait,
So, in fact,
on dit ça comme si...
we say that as if...
Et en fait,
And in fact,
on banalise beaucoup,
We trivialize a lot,
je trouve,
I find,
la vie d'une femme
the life of a woman
qui n'a rien à voir
which has nothing to do
avec la vie d'un homme
with the life of a man
de manière physiologique.
physiologically.
Donc, voilà.
So, there you go.
C'est hyper important
It's extremely important.
ce qu'Anouk dit.
what Anouk says.
Et on adore dire,
And we love to say,
ah oui, alors les femmes,
ah yes, so the women,
elles sont super puissantes
they are super powerful
et les mecs disent
and the guys say
vous êtes géniales,
you are awesome,
vous faites tout.
you do everything.
Oui, mais à un moment,
Yes, but at one point,
il faut reconnaître ça.
It must be recognized.
Il faut aligner tout ça aussi.
Everything needs to be aligned as well.
Il faut laisser les femmes
Women must be allowed.
exploiter leur potentiel
exploit their potential
parce que justement,
because precisely,
aujourd'hui,
today,
les femmes qui ont des enfants,
women who have children,
elles ne sont pas aussi libres
They are not as free.
que celles qui n'en ont pas
than those who do not have any
et ce n'est pas normal.
and that's not normal.
Aujourd'hui,
Today,
il y a beaucoup de choses
There are many things.
qui pèsent un système de garde.
which weigh on a guardianship system.
Trouver une crèche à Paris,
Finding a daycare in Paris.
moi, je l'ai fait par défaut
I did it by default.
d'avoir une nounou.
to have a nanny.
Mais ça,
But that,
souvent,
often,
ça pèse sur la femme.
It weighs on the woman.
C'est vraiment anecdotique
It's really anecdotal.
quand dans le couple,
when in the couple,
c'est le père
it's the father
qui fait ses concessions.
who makes his concessions.
Tu parlais tout à l'heure
You were speaking earlier.
de finances,
of finance,
mais il y a un énorme sujet,
but there is a huge topic,
c'est toi qui m'y as fait penser
It's you who made me think of it.
tout à l'heure,
earlier,
mais on parle beaucoup
but we talk a lot
d'écart de salaire
of salary gap
entre les hommes et les femmes,
between men and women,
mais il y a aussi
but there is also
l'écart de richesse.
the wealth gap.
C'est-à-dire que même
That is to say that even
si demain,
if tomorrow,
le mariage,
the marriage,
j'ai le même salaire
I have the same salary.
que mon mari,
that my husband,
en réalité,
in reality,
on ne dépense pas
we do not spend
de la même manière.
in the same way.
C'est-à-dire que les dépenses
That is to say the expenses
de l'homme, en général,
of man, in general,
ça va être acheter
It's going to be bought.
la maison secondaire,
the second home,
acheter la voiture
buy the car
ou acheter des choses.
where to buy things.
Donc, en fait,
So, in fact,
ces dépenses l'enrichissent.
these expenses enrich him.
La femme va acheter
The woman is going to buy.
les vêtements,
clothes
faire les courses,
to do the shopping,
va acheter la décoration,
go buy the decoration,
la vaisselle, etc.
the dishes, etc.
Donc, des dépenses
So, expenses.
qui appauvrissent.
that impoverish.
On n'a pas encore
We don't have it yet.
cette égalité
this equality
même dans les dépenses.
even in spending.
Donc, à salaire égal,
So, at equal pay,
la femme s'appauvrit
the woman is becoming poorer
et l'homme, en général,
and man, in general,
s'enrichit.
enriches itself.
Donc, ça,
So, that,
c'est l'angle mort
it's the blind spot
de l'écart de salaire,
the wage gap,
c'est l'écart de richesse réelle.
it's the gap of real wealth.
Et ça, pareil,
And that, the same,
c'est encore plus vrai,
it's even truer,
plus précaire
more precarious
quand on est dans l'entrepreneuriat.
when one is in entrepreneurship.
Ça s'appelle
It's called
la théorie du pot de yaourt.
the theory of the yogurt pot.
Je sens que les femmes,
I feel that women,
elles achètent les yaourts
They buy the yogurts.
là où les hommes,
where the men,
ils vont acheter une voiture
They are going to buy a car.
ou des choses, comme tu dis,
or things, as you say,
qui prennent de la valeur.
that gain value.
Et on n'en parle pas assez.
And we don't talk about it enough.
J'ai écrit une tribune là-dessus
I wrote an article about it.
dans les échos
in the echoes
il y a un an ou deux.
a year or two ago.
Voilà,
Here you go,
c'est tout ce qu'on en dira.
That's all we will say about it.
C'est l'éducation financière.
It's financial education.
En fait,
In fact,
pareil, moi,
same for me,
je vois quand j'arrive
I see when I arrive.
à un dîner
at a dinner
avec d'autres entrepreneurs
with other entrepreneurs
ou en plus souvent
or even more often
avec mon mari
with my husband
qui travaille en finance,
who works in finance,
directement,
directly,
avec les gens en face de lui,
with the people in front of him,
ils vont parler de business.
They are going to talk about business.
Et souvent, moi,
And often, me,
en général,
in general,
je me retrouve,
I find myself,
je ne sais pas pourquoi,
I don't know why,
à côté ou en face d'une femme
next to or in front of a woman
qui va me parler des enfants.
who is going to talk to me about the children.
Oui, c'est un truc de fou,
Yes, it's a crazy thing,
mais ça, c'est systématique.
but that's systematic.
Après, je suis très contente
After, I am very happy.
de parler de mes enfants
to talk about my children
parce que c'est aussi
because it is also
l'autre partie de moi.
the other part of me.
Mais c'est fou
But it's crazy.
comme naturellement,
as naturally,
il y a un biais.
There is a bias.
J'essaye d'avoir
I'm trying to have.
une éducation non genrée
a non-gendered education
chez mes enfants
at my children's house
et pourtant,
and yet,
mon fils de 3 ans,
my 3-year-old son,
il adore jouer avec des voitures,
he loves playing with cars,
il est hyper casse-cou.
He is super daring.
Je me dis,
I tell myself,
mais est-ce que c'est moi
but is it me
qui induis ça ?
Who induces this?
Ça m'inquiète.
That worries me.
Si ça se trouve,
Maybe,
c'est complètement inconscient
it's completely unconscious
ce processus,
this process,
mais il y a beaucoup
but there is a lot
de chemin à faire encore.
still a way to go.
Pour moi,
For me,
l'égalité des femmes,
women's equality,
elle n'est pas du tout acquise.
She is not at all gained.
Quand on passe
When we pass
du côté maman,
on my mother's side,
c'est dans la mentalité
it's in the mentality
que ça joue.
let it play.
Et pourtant,
And yet,
j'ai un mari
I have a husband.
qui est très progressiste,
who is very progressive,
qui a évidemment
which obviously
envie que je travaille,
want me to work,
mais je vois qu'il y a
but I see that there is
des réflexes quand même
some reflexes still
ancrés,
anchored,
qui sont un petit peu
who are a little bit
misogynes,
misogynists,
on pense naturellement
we naturally think
que la femme est le plus
that the woman is the most
à l'aise avec les enfants,
comfortable with children,
alors que non,
while not,
c'est une question de temps.
It's a matter of time.
Quand on passe du temps
When we spend time
avec les enfants,
with the children,
on est aussi à l'aise.
we are also comfortable.
Mais il y a des choses
But there are things.
qui naturellement
who naturally
ne se font pas.
do not happen.
Par exemple,
For example,
mon mari qui travaille
my husband who works
dans le milieu de la finance,
in the finance sector,
comme tous ses boss,
like all his bosses,
ils n'ont eu que deux semaines
They only had two weeks.
de congé paternité.
paternity leave.
Là, maintenant,
There, now,
c'est passé un mois.
A month has passed.
Là, il avait le droit
There, he was right.
à un mois,
at one month,
mais tout le monde lui a dit
but everyone told him/her
« Ah non, mais nous,
"Oh no, but we,"
on a fait avec deux semaines,
we managed with two weeks,
tu vas y arriver,
you will succeed,
t'inquiète,
don't worry,
deux semaines,
two weeks,
t'auras le temps. »
"You'll have time."
Mais pourquoi personne
But why is no one
veut que la mentalité
wants the mentality
là-dessus avance ?
How is that progressing?
Après, c'est vraiment
After, it's really
un environnement d'hommes encore.
a still male environment.
C'est dommage.
That's too bad.
Pourquoi rester comme ça
Why stay like this?
alors que maintenant,
while now,
justement,
precisely,
on essaye de faire évoluer
we are trying to evolve
les choses,
the things,
mais même quand les droits
but even when the rights
et que les choses
and that the things
sont actées sur le papier,
are recorded on paper,
ça n'avance pas.
It's not progressing.
Puis un enfant a autant besoin
Then a child needs as much
de sa maman
from her mom
que de son papa.
than his dad.
Je pense que dans les deux sens
I think in both directions.
aussi,
also,
c'est qu'on met beaucoup
It's that we put a lot.
les femmes,
the women
le congé à maternité
maternity leave
parce que forcément,
because necessarily,
il y a l'allaitement,
there is breastfeeding,
il y a tout ça.
there's all that.
Mais effectivement,
But indeed,
un enfant,
a child,
ça a besoin de son papa aussi.
It needs its daddy too.
Ce n'est pas que la maman
It's not just the mom.
malgré tout.
despite everything.
Et puis la maman a besoin
And then the mom needs
un peu,
a little,
comme tu disais,
as you were saying,
rien que de peut-être
nothing but maybe
prendre une douche,
take a shower,
de peut-être juste 5 minutes
of just perhaps 5 minutes
pour pouvoir juste souffler
to be able to just breathe
quand on est dans cet engrenage
when you are in that mechanism
et encore plus
and even more
quand on a une société
when you have a company
à faire tourner,
to be circulated,
des employés.
employees.
Enfin voilà,
Well here it is,
quand on a tout ça aussi,
when you have all that too,
c'est un vrai sujet.
It's a real topic.
Je rajoute juste un truc,
I'm just adding one thing,
mais pareil,
but it’s the same,
j'ai des copines
I have friends.
qui ne veulent pas allaiter
who do not want to breastfeed
en se disant comme ça,
by saying that,
ça met à 50-50
it puts it at 50-50
dès le départ
from the start
quand le bébé arrive.
when the baby arrives.
Je dis que c'est quand même
I say that it's still
dommage de prendre
too bad to take
la décision
the decision
de ne pas allaiter pour ça.
not to breastfeed for that.
Franchement,
Frankly,
je n'impose l'allaitement
I don't impose breastfeeding.
à personne.
to no one.
Il faut vraiment
It really needs to.
que ça reste un choix
let it remain a choice
parce que c'est très difficile.
because it is very difficult.
Mais de faire ce choix
But making this choice
pour cette raison,
for this reason,
ça montre bien
That shows well.
qu'il y a un problème.
that there is a problem.
Alors,
So,
vous avez toutes les trois
you have all three
une visibilité assez publique
a rather public visibility
sur les réseaux sociaux.
on social networks.
Comment est-ce que vous gérez
How do you manage?
les enfants
the children
et les réseaux sociaux ?
And social media?
Donc,
So,
mettre vos enfants,
put your children,
votre famille,
your family,
votre vie en avant,
your life ahead,
Caroline,
Caroline,
sur ce sujet ?
on this subject?
Pour moi,
For me,
c'est une question compliquée
it's a complicated question
parce que c'est une question
because it is a question
que je me pose tout le temps.
that I ask myself all the time.
Et qui évolue aussi
And who is also evolving.
avec le temps.
with time.
Alors,
So,
j'ai exposé mes enfants
I exposed my children.
et je continue à le faire.
and I continue to do so.
Mais,
But,
je ne l'ai jamais fait
I have never done it.
déjà sans leur poser la question.
already without asking them the question.
Bon,
Good,
puis ce sont des enfants
then they are children
qui sont en âge.
who are of age.
Qui ont peut-être
Who might have
eux-mêmes les réseaux sociaux
themselves the social networks
aujourd'hui pour la plupart.
today for the most part.
Et qui m'ont demandé aussi
And who also asked me
parce que,
because,
voilà,
here it is,
en fait,
in fact,
on est quand même
we're still
dans une famille
in a family
assez artistique
quite artistic
et j'ai deux aînés
and I have two older siblings
qui s'engagent aussi
who are also committed
dans une direction artistique
in an artistic direction
et qui commençaient
and who were beginning
à faire leur premier pas,
to take their first step,
même en tant que modèle,
even as a model,
en tant que comédien.
as an actor.
Et donc,
And so,
en fait,
in fact,
j'étais ravie
I was delighted.
d'avoir cette visibilité-là.
to have that visibility.
Et après,
And after,
c'est vrai que j'ai aussi
It's true that I also have.
exposé ma petite-fille
exposed my granddaughter
qui est moins en âge
who is younger
d'avoir conscience de ça.
to be aware of that.
Je t'avoue
I confess to you.
que je n'ai pas de...
that I don't have any...
Je crois que je n'ai pas
I believe that I don't have.
de réponse à cette question.
of response to this question.
C'est-à-dire que moi,
That is to say that I,
j'ai un Instagram
I have an Instagram.
qui est totalement spontané.
who is completely spontaneous.
Mais comme ma boîte
But like my box
est totalement spontanée
is totally spontaneous
et intuitive,
and intuitive,
il n'y a aucun business plan.
There is no business plan.
Je fais tout à l'instant.
I am doing everything right now.
Et donc,
And so,
en fait,
in fact,
quand je vais poster un jour
When am I going to post one day?
une photo avec mes enfants,
a photo with my children,
eh bien,
well,
ça va être un jour
It's going to be a day.
où je suis hyper heureuse.
where I am super happy.
J'ai envie de partager
I want to share.
un moment familial
a family moment
que je vis
that I saw
ou un moment que je vis
or a moment that I live
avec ma fille.
with my daughter.
Et je ne me pose pas
And I do not ask myself.
plus de questions que ça,
more questions than that,
ce qui est peut-être
what may be
une bêtise
a silly thing
parce que je ne pense pas
because I do not think
que dans l'absolu,
that in absolute terms,
ce soit génial
that it be great
d'exposer ses enfants.
of exposing his children.
Donc, je le fais vraiment
So, I'm really doing it.
de manière très patrimonieuse.
in a very heritage-conscious manner.
Mais en tout cas,
But in any case,
ce que je constate aujourd'hui,
what I see today,
et c'est pour ça
and that's why
que je te dis
what I am telling you
que c'est évolutif
that it is evolving
chez moi,
at my place,
cette question-là,
that question,
c'est que maintenant,
it's that now,
j'ai deux aînés
I have two older siblings.
qui commencent à travailler
who start working
avec moi dans cette boîte.
with me in this box.
Alors, ils sont étudiants,
So, they are students,
mais parallèlement,
but simultaneously,
ils font des missions pour moi.
They do missions for me.
Et ma fille aînée,
And my eldest daughter,
notamment,
notably,
elle vient avec moi,
she is coming with me,
elle travaille sur des shootings,
she works on photo shoots,
je l'emmène avec moi en Inde,
I'm taking her with me to India.
etc.
etc.
Donc, pour elle,
So, for her,
elle me sert de modèle,
she serves as my model,
elle est sublime,
she is sublime,
elle fait 1m70,
she is 1.70m tall,
tous les vêtements lui vont.
All the clothes suit her.
Donc, dès que je lui mets
So, as soon as I put it on him.
des bijoux, des choses,
jewelry, things,
c'est vraiment, pour moi,
it's really, for me,
le modèle le plus représentatif
the most representative model
de ma marque.
of my brand.
Tu vois, même si je voulais
You see, even if I wanted to
aller chercher un autre mannequin,
go get another model,
je n'aurais pas quelqu'un
I won't have someone.
de mieux que ma fille
better than my daughter
parce que, pour moi,
because, for me,
elle incarne mon univers.
She embodies my universe.
Et elle, elle est ravie de ça.
And she is thrilled about it.
Donc, aujourd'hui,
So, today,
pour elle,
for her,
la question ne se pose même plus.
The question no longer arises.
Mon fils, le deuxième,
My son, the second,
qui a 17 ans,
who is 17 years old,
bientôt 18,
soon 18,
il se lance dans l'animation,
he is getting into animation,
il me fait des vidéos,
he makes videos for me,
il me fait des trucs,
he does things to me,
ou il se met en scène lui-même.
where he stages himself.
Donc, c'est aussi
So, it's also
un acte volontaire de sa part.
a voluntary act on his part.
Et puis, après, voilà,
And then, after that, here we go,
les deux petits derniers,
the two little ones,
alors, je les expose
so, I expose them
beaucoup moins,
much less,
mais, effectivement,
but, indeed,
pour la petite,
for the little one,
ça m'a un peu travaillée
It has troubled me a bit.
à un moment,
at one point,
parce que je me suis pris
because I got caught
des réflexions, évidemment,
reflections, obviously,
parce que, enfin, voilà,
because, well, there you go,
c'est une question
It's a question.
qui fait beaucoup parler.
which gets a lot of people talking.
Je n'ai pas d'avis
I have no opinion.
tranché là-dessus.
decided on that.
C'est-à-dire que, moi,
That is to say, I,
je pense que ce que je partage
I think that what I share
colle à l'univers que j'ai,
glue to the universe that I have,
à la façon de fonctionner
in the way of functioning
que j'ai.
that I have.
Je sais que j'ai une communauté,
I know that I have a community,
je le dis,
I say it,
parce qu'elle me le dit,
because she tells me so,
enfin, les personnes
finally, the people
que je rencontre
that I meet
qui me suivent
who follow me
me disent qu'elles adorent
they tell me that they love
suivre ce parcours
follow this course
entrepreneurial,
entrepreneurial,
cette reconversion,
this career change,
cette vie,
this life,
enfin, cette marque
finally, this brand
partie un peu de rien
part a little of nothing
sur un coup de tête,
on a whim,
sur des voyages,
on trips,
en ayant des bébés,
by having babies,
en arrivant à concilier tout.
by managing to reconcile everything.
Et tu vois, là,
And you see, there,
le sujet du podcast,
the subject of the podcast,
c'est un peu la conciliation
it's a bit of reconciliation
entre cette vie
between this life
de la femme
of the woman
et d'entrepreneuse
and entrepreneur
et la vie de famille.
and family life.
Et moi, mon Instagram,
And me, my Instagram,
il montre ça aussi.
He shows that too.
Et en fait, je crois que ça inspire
And actually, I think it inspires.
et ça parle aussi
And it also speaks.
à beaucoup de personnes.
to many people.
C'est pour ça que
That's why
je ne te dis pas
I am not telling you.
qu'à partir de...
only from...
Voilà, je m'interdirais
There you go, I would forbid myself.
maintenant de poster
now to post
des photos de mes enfants
photos of my children
parce que
because
ça fait un tout
It all adds up.
avec mon univers.
with my universe.
Avec l'univers
With the universe
de ta marque aussi.
from your brand too.
Et toi, Inès,
And you, Inès,
pour ton petit garçon ?
for your little boy?
Moi, ayant écrit un livre
Me, having written a book
sur le numérique responsable,
on responsible digital technology,
où j'ai théorisé
where I theorized
trois types de pollution numérique,
three types of digital pollution,
environnementale,
environmental,
cognitive et sociétale,
cognitive and societal,
j'ai évidemment mis le doigt
I obviously pointed it out.
sur les dérives
on the drifts
de la surexposition des enfants.
of the overexposure of children.
Et justement,
And indeed,
c'est là mon point,
that's my point,
c'est la surexposition
it's the overexposure
qui pose problème
which poses a problem
parce qu'il y a un moment
because there is a time
où c'est un contenu facile,
where it's easy content,
très mignon,
very cute,
très likable.
very likable.
Et donc,
And so,
ça a été aussi une rente
It was also a source of income.
pour beaucoup d'influenceurs,
for many influencers,
parfois peu scrupuleux,
sometimes unscrupulous,
d'autres bien plus honnêtes
others much more honest
et qui se sont dit
and who said to themselves
« Ah mince,
"Oh darn,"
je n'avais pas réfléchi
I hadn't thought about it.
et les choses sont tellement
and things are so
allées vite
quick paths
que pour beaucoup
that for many
de personnes,
of people,
ça a été une réflexion
It has been a reflection.
à postériori
a posteriori
et qui ont rétropédalé
and who have backtracked
ensuite. »
then. »
Pour répondre à ta question,
To answer your question,
j'ai toujours eu tendance
I have always had a tendency.
à garder ma vie privée privée.
to keep my private life private.
Il m'arrive parfois
Sometimes it happens to me.
de le mettre de dos
to turn him away
parce que pareil,
because the same,
ça représente
it represents
un style de vie
a lifestyle
que ma communauté
that my community
attend aussi.
wait too.
J'ai compris
I understood.
et je sais que j'incarne
and I know that I embody
aussi quelque chose
also something
à travers tout ce que
through everything that
j'ai pu faire
I was able to do.
et qu'on attend de moi
and what is expected of me
que je sois
that I am
une personne
a person
qui est en train
who is in the process
de faire
to do
de la vie
of life
et qui est en train
and who is in the process
généreuse
generous
en réalité
in reality
de qui se cache
who is hiding
derrière
behind
parce que c'est ça
because that's it
qui fait que les gens
that makes people
adhèrent à ton univers
adhere to your universe
ou pas en fait.
or not actually.
C'est qui tu es.
It's who you are.
Mais récemment,
But recently,
j'ai mis une photo
I posted a photo.
où on voit
where we see
plus ou moins son visage
more or less his face
et en fait,
and actually,
ce n'est pas grave du tout.
it's not a big deal at all.
J'en veux
I want some.
et en tant que spécialiste,
and as a specialist,
je ne juge aucun parent
I do not judge any parent.
qui mettrait
who would put
une photo de vacances
a vacation photo
où ils sont
where they are
en portrait de famille
in family portrait
pour Noël
for Christmas
ou un super dîner.
or a great dinner.
Moi, je suis un peu
Me, I am a little
très instinctive même
very instinctive even
et je suis un peu
and I am a little
comme Caroline,
like Caroline,
c'est-à-dire que,
that is to say that,
j'ai jamais vraiment
I've never really.
eu de business plan
had a business plan
véritable.
true.
Je fais tout à l'instinct
I do everything by instinct.
et mon Instagram aussi
and my Instagram too
représente ça.
represent that.
Je peux ne pas poster
I might not post.
pendant trois mois.
for three months.
Je vais recevoir des mails
I am going to receive emails.
du coup sur le mail
so about the email
institutionnel de l'ONG
institutional NGO
où on dit
where it is said
vous allez bien Inès ?
How are you, Inès?
Donc, c'est très drôle
So, it's very funny.
et j'ai vraiment
and I really
une communauté adorable
a lovely community
mais ça reste public.
but it remains public.
Aujourd'hui,
Today,
il y a de la pédocriminalité
there is child sexual abuse
et la plupart des photos
and most of the photos
des parents
parents
que les parents postent.
that parents post.
Il y a aussi des enfants
There are also children.
qui portent plainte
who file a complaint
contre leurs enfants
against their children
aujourd'hui
today
parce qu'ils ont été
because they have been
surexposés
overexposed
mais on parle d'enfants
but we are talking about children
qui étaient tout nus
who were completely naked
parce qu'un enfant
because a child
tout nu, c'est mignon
All naked, it's cute.
qu'il était en slip de bain
that he was in swim trunks
ou qu'il sortait de son pot
or he was coming out of his pot
ou en train de dormir
or sleeping
et donc finalement
and so finally
qu'il se retrouve
that he finds himself
avec une collection de photos
with a collection of photos
des dizaines de milliers
tens of thousands
de photos parfois
of photos sometimes
déjà en ligne
already online
avec une identité numérique
with a digital identity
véritable
genuine
sans même avoir eu
without even having had
un consentement à donner.
a consent to give.
Ça, c'est problématique
That's problematic.
mais quand j'entends
but when I hear
ce que Caroline dit,
what Caroline says,
en fait, moi,
In fact, me,
je ne suis pas du tout...
I am not at all...
Et là, vraiment,
And there, really,
je prends la casquette
I take the cap.
de spécialiste.
of specialist.
Je ne suis pas alarmée
I am not alarmed.
pas du tout
not at all
et comme elle l'a aussi
and as she has it too
très bien dit,
very well said,
c'est une question
It's a question.
qu'on se pose
let's ask ourselves
et qui évolue.
and which evolves.
C'est parce que
It's because
ça ne veut pas dire
that doesn't mean
la même chose
the same thing
à tous les âges
at all ages
et donc, moi,
and so, me,
je me méfie beaucoup
I am very cautious.
des puristes,
purists,
de la morale absolue
of absolute morality
et c'est Jean Kélévitch
and it is Jean Kélévitch
qui disait ça,
who said that,
qui disait
who said
la morale absolue,
the absolute morality,
c'est un poison
it's a poison
et c'est la meilleure façon
and it's the best way
de tomber dans les vices
to fall into vices
en réalité
in reality
et dans les prisons
and in the prisons
dont on parlait tout à l'heure.
that we were talking about earlier.
Il faut faire attention
You have to be careful.
à ne pas s'enfermer
not to lock oneself in
dans ces concepts
in these concepts
qui ont l'air très beaux
who look very beautiful
sur le papier.
on paper.
L'enfer n'est pas
Hell is not
avec de bonnes intentions.
with good intentions.
Vivons
Let's live.
et on a le droit
and we have the right
de se montrer.
to show oneself.
L'idée,
The idea,
ce n'est pas non plus
it's not either
de...
from...
Mais,
But,
après,
after,
avec parcimonie,
with parcimony,
respect du consentement
respect for consent
et de l'intégrité
and integrity
de nos enfants.
of our children.
Il y a une grande différence
There is a big difference.
entre un gamin à poil
between a naked kid
sur la table
on the table
parce que c'est rigolo
because it's funny
et il fait la lambada
and he does the lambada
devant la télé
in front of the TV
et une photo en vacances
and a photo on vacation
ou de son fils
or of his son
parce qu'il vient
because he is coming
d'avoir son bac
to have one's high school diploma
ou même
or even
il a gagné sa compétition
He won his competition.
des scrims à 6 ans
screams at 6 years old
ou je ne sais pas,
or I don't know,
tu vois.
You see.
Voilà,
Here it is,
deux poids, deux mesures.
two weights, two measures.
Et toi, Anouk ?
And you, Anouk?
Alors, moi,
So, me,
je les expose aussi un peu.
I also expose them a little.
Après, je fais assez attention
Afterwards, I pay enough attention.
pas mal sur le sujet
not bad on the subject
pédocriminalité,
child pornography,
c'est-à-dire que
that is to say that
je n'ai jamais de photos,
I never have photos,
voilà,
there you go,
qui peuvent dépasser le cadre,
that can go beyond the framework,
je dirais.
I would say.
Elles ne sont jamais tenues.
They are never held.
Je ne les mets pas trop
I don't wear them too much.
dans mon feed.
in my feed.
Après, en story,
Later, in the story,
oui, ça peut m'arriver
Yes, that can happen to me.
parce que c'est le côté spontané.
because it's the spontaneous side.
Enfin, je ne sais pas.
Finally, I don't know.
Là, mon fils,
There, my son,
il s'habille tout seul
He dresses himself.
donc il a des looks absurdes.
so he has absurd looks.
Alors hier,
So yesterday,
je suis allée chez le pédiatre
I went to the pediatrician.
et il avait un pull pas de patrouille,
and he had a sweater without a patrol,
un jogging jaune
a yellow tracksuit
et des crocs hiboux.
and owl fangs.
On l'a bien,
We have it well,
c'est trop bien.
It's too good.
Ça m'a trop fait rire, quoi.
It made me laugh so much, you know.
Donc, j'avais envie
So, I felt like it.
de le partager.
to share it.
Mais voilà, ça reste.
But there you go, it stays.
Et en général,
And in general,
je fais attention
I pay attention.
dans les photos que je mets
in the photos that I upload
que leur visage
that their face
ne soit pas trop reconnaissable.
don't be too recognizable.
Et effectivement,
And indeed,
je le fais vraiment
I'm really doing it.
avec parcimonie.
with moderation.
Mais effectivement,
But indeed,
je trouve que ça fait partie
I think it is part of it.
du personnage.
of the character.
Moi, je l'ai vécu tellement
Me, I've lived it so much.
comme une galère, en fait,
like a galley, in fact,
d'avoir des enfants
to have children
et j'ai tellement pensé
and I thought so much
que c'était un handicap
that it was a handicap
dans ma carrière
in my career
que j'ai envie de le partager
that I want to share it
pour que d'autres femmes
so that other women
qui traversent ça,
who go through this,
j'ai trouvé ça tellement dur,
I found it so hard,
le choc de tomber
the shock of falling
dans la maternité
in the maternity ward
que je pense que c'est bien
that I think it's good
de le partager.
to share it.
Donc, il faut le faire
So, it needs to be done.
effectivement
indeed
comme tout contenu
like all content
qu'on partage, en fait.
that we share, in fact.
C'est avec une vertu pédagogique.
It is with a pedagogical virtue.
C'est pour de la transparence,
It's for transparency,
pour montrer que oui,
to show that yes,
les galères,
the galleys,
c'est pour tout le monde
it's for everyone
parce que quand on s'expose
because when we expose ourselves
en tant qu'entrepreneur,
as an entrepreneur,
on montre beaucoup les succès
We often showcase successes.
et parfois, les gens,
and sometimes, people,
ils imaginent
they imagine
que notre vie est géniale.
that our life is great.
Et non, notre vie,
And no, our life,
elle n'est pas que ça.
She is not just that.
Donc, il ne faut pas
So, it should not be
vendre des paillettes.
sell glitter.
Aujourd'hui,
Today,
je vois beaucoup de gens
I see a lot of people.
qui veulent se tourner
who want to turn
vers l'entrepreneuriat
towards entrepreneurship
comme un Eldorado
like an Eldorado
de la liberté
of freedom
où c'est facile,
where it is easy,
où on se paye facilement,
where we easily make money,
rapidement.
quickly.
Ce n'est pas du tout ça.
That's not it at all.
Maintenant, il y a plein
Now, there are plenty.
de formations
of training
pour devenir entrepreneur.
to become an entrepreneur.
Franchement,
Honestly,
ça ne s'apprend pas.
It can't be learned.
C'est un processus
It's a process.
tellement long.
so long.
C'est chaque jour
It's every day.
se remettre en question,
to question oneself
essayer de devenir meilleur.
try to become better.
Du coup,
So,
c'est quand même bien
it's still nice
de montrer...
to show...
La maternité,
Maternity,
ça fait partie
it's part of it
d'une des difficultés.
one of the difficulties.
Donc, c'est bien
So, it's good.
de le montrer.
to show it.
Pareil,
Same,
j'ai toujours cette question.
I always have this question.
De toute façon,
Anyway,
si j'expose mes enfants,
if I expose my children,
je vais avoir des remarques.
I am going to have some remarks.
Le papa n'est pas du tout
The dad is not at all.
OK non plus.
OK neither.
Donc, je fais vraiment
So, I'm really doing
très attention
very careful
et je comprends.
and I understand.
Et à chaque fois,
And every time,
je me dis,
I tell myself,
est-ce que s'il voyait ça
would he see this?
quand il sera grand,
when he is big,
ça le dérangerait ?
Would it bother him?
Ça, c'est un peu
That's a bit.
le truc à avoir en tête
the thing to keep in mind
parce que je n'aurais pas aimé
because I wouldn't have liked it
là, moi, à 17 ans,
there, me, at 17 years old,
débarquer sur Instagram
to land on Instagram
et voir que ma mère,
and see that my mother,
elle a mis 50 photos de moi
She put up 50 photos of me.
en couche culotte
in a diaper
où j'ai l'air ridicule.
where I look ridiculous.
Je pense que ça ne m'aurait
I think it wouldn't have me.
pas fait plaisir.
not pleased.
Donc, j'essaie d'avoir
So, I'm trying to get.
un petit peu cette pensée-là
a little bit that thought
que ça ne prédétermine pas
that it does not predetermine
du tout leur identité.
at all their identity.
Justement,
Exactly,
qu'ils n'aient pas
that they do not have
d'identité numérique.
digital identity.
Même si je poste des photos d'eux,
Even if I post pictures of them,
on ne peut pas les reconnaître
we cannot recognize them
parce qu'aujourd'hui,
because today,
avec Meta
with Meta
et toute la reconnaissance faciale,
and all the facial recognition,
je ne voudrais pas
I wouldn't want to.
qu'on trouve tout ça.
that we find all of this.
Juste pour compléter ça,
Just to complete that,
c'est aussi ça le problème.
That's also part of the problem.
C'est qu'au-delà
It's that beyond
de l'identité numérique
of digital identity
qu'on crée,
that we create,
on crée aussi des profils
we also create profiles
d'acheteurs et de votants.
of buyers and voters.
C'est-à-dire qu'aujourd'hui,
That is to say, today,
on est capable d'établir
we are able to establish
un profil psychologique
a psychological profile
sur la base
on the basis
de toutes les photos
of all the photos
qui ont été postées
which were posted
de 0 à 20 ans d'un enfant
from 0 to 20 years of a child
et selon le cadre derrière lui.
and according to the frame behind him.
Par exemple, peut-être,
For example, perhaps,
je ne sais pas,
I don't know,
où il a mis un t-shirt
where he put on a t-shirt
« I am vegan ».
"I am vegan."
Du coup,
So,
les partis écologistes
the ecological parties
vont plutôt cibler ça.
will rather target that.
Il y a des agences
There are agencies
de psychométrie
of psychometry
qui, aujourd'hui,
who, today,
ne travaillent que sur ça,
only work on that,
identifier les profils psychologiques
identify psychological profiles
à partir des photos publiques.
from public photos.
Et donc, à 18 ans,
And so, at 18 years old,
aujourd'hui,
today,
on croit qu'on a tous
we believe that we all have
le même Internet.
the same Internet.
C'est faux.
That's false.
On est dans des bulles d'Internet
We are in bubbles of the internet.
créées spécialement pour nous.
created especially for us.
Aujourd'hui,
Today,
ça se sait de plus en plus.
It's becoming more widely known.
Et donc,
And so,
nos enfants vont s'identifier,
our children will identify themselves,
remettre une photo d'eux.
To submit a photo of them.
On va les reconnecter
We are going to reconnect them.
avec tout ce qui existe déjà
with everything that already exists
et on va leur pousser un contenu
and we will push content to them
et certainement les pousser
and certainly push them
à voter pour telle ou telle partie,
to vote for one party or another,
pousser tel produit
to push such a product
dont ils n'avaient pas envie
that they did not want to
mais soudainement,
but suddenly,
ils en ont très envie.
They really want it.
Et donc, finalement,
And so, finally,
on enlève toute une partie
We remove a whole part.
de liberté de goût,
of freedom of taste,
de liberté politique
of political freedom
et donc, finalement,
and so, finally,
de personnalité
of personality
à un enfant
to a child
avec, malencontreusement,
with, unfortunately,
quelques photos
some photos
qu'on pensait
that we thought
vraiment pas méchantes.
really not mean.
Oui, même les sujets d'algorithme
Yes, even algorithm topics.
qui sont un peu flippants.
who are a bit unsettling.
Aujourd'hui,
Today,
TikTok qui est un peu
TikTok which is a bit
sous le feu des projecteurs,
under the spotlight,
mais pareil,
but still,
si on identifie
if we identify
qu'un enfant
that a child
qui a un compte TikTok
who has a TikTok account
peut aller consulter
can go for a consultation
des comptes
accounts
où c'est des gens déprimés,
where there are depressed people,
un peu dépressifs,
a little depressed,
ça peut un peu
it can a little
engrainer
to engrain
et ça,
and that,
c'est assez flippant.
It's quite scary.
Je pense qu'il y a
I think there is
un autre sujet
another topic
quand on est parent,
when you are a parent,
c'est le numérique,
it's digital,
les réseaux sociaux
social media
chez ces enfants
at these children
parce que nous-mêmes,
because we ourselves,
on l'utilise.
we use it.
En fait, on disait
In fact, they said.
que ça a été une rampe
that it was a ramp
de lancement
launch
pour nos carrières professionnelles.
for our professional careers.
Donc, aujourd'hui,
So, today,
je pourrais jamais dire
I could never say.
à mes enfants
to my children
que c'est pas génial
that it's not great
les réseaux sociaux
social networks
parce que sans ça,
because without that,
j'aurais jamais pu me lancer
I could have never taken the plunge.
parce que j'avais pas d'argent
because I didn't have any money
et que c'est vraiment
and that it is really
la notoriété
the notoriety
des réseaux sociaux
social networks
qui a permis ça.
Who allowed this?
Donc, en même temps,
So, at the same time,
c'est un outil génial
it's a great tool
et en même temps,
and at the same time,
c'est un outil
it's a tool
qui peut être très dangereux
which can be very dangerous
et aujourd'hui,
and today,
il n'y a pas d'éducation
There is no education.
dans l'éducation nationale.
in national education.
On n'apprend pas aux enfants
We don't teach children.
à servir de tout ça,
to serve all of that,
à connaître un petit peu
to know a little bit
comment ça fonctionne.
how does it work.
Ça, c'est quelque chose
That's something.
j'espère qu'il arrivera bientôt
I hope he will arrive soon.
parce qu'on ne peut pas dire
because we cannot say
que c'est mal
how bad it is
mais effectivement,
but indeed,
toutes ces dérives
all these drifts
et c'est très dur
and it's very hard
de réguler de toute façon.
to regulate in any case.
Maintenant,
Now,
ils ont leur téléphone portable
They have their mobile phone.
très jeune.
very young.
Je ne sais pas,
I don't know,
ils n'ont pas encore ado.
They are not teenagers yet.
Mais moi, je ne sais pas,
But I, I don't know,
je ne dois pas avoir
I must not have.
des ados normaux.
normal teenagers.
En fait,
In fact,
ils ne vont pas du tout,
they don't go at all,
ils ne s'exposent pas du tout
they do not expose themselves at all
eux-mêmes sur les réseaux.
themselves on social media.
Ils n'ont pas de compte TikTok,
They don't have a TikTok account.
pas de compte Instagram.
no Instagram account.
J'ai même un fils
I even have a son.
qui a carrément coupé Instagram
who completely cut off Instagram
pour ne pas être perturbé
to avoid being disturbed
dans sa liberté artistique.
in its artistic freedom.
J'adore, je lui dis.
I love it, I tell him.
Je rêve d'avoir sa vie.
I dream of having her life.
Oui, et en fait,
Yes, and in fact,
et pourtant,
and yet,
ils me voient
They see me.
et moi, en revanche,
and I, on the other hand,
ils adorent ce que je fais
They love what I do.
et même quand je les poste
and even when I post them
de temps en temps,
from time to time,
ils sont très fiers
They are very proud.
parce que leurs copains
because their friends
leur en parlent,
talking about them,
ils se trouvent beaux
They think they are beautiful.
sur la photo.
in the photo.
Donc, c'est très paradoxal.
So, it's very paradoxical.
Mais à côté de ça,
But aside from that,
ils ne sont pas
they are not
très fiers
very proud
mais ils ont plein d'amis
but they have lots of friends
effectivement
indeed
qui plongent dans TikTok
who dive into TikTok
et je pense que c'est
and I think that it is
l'éducation des parents aussi
parents' education too
qui est absolument indispensable.
which is absolutely essential.
Les parents sont
Parents are
les meilleurs contrôleurs
the best controllers
si tu veux
if you want
sur l'usage
on usage
que font leurs enfants
What do their children do?
de ces réseaux.
of these networks.
Mais oui,
But yes,
c'est un reste de sujet.
It's a leftover topic.
Vraiment,
Really,
parce qu'elle vient de le citer,
because she just mentioned it,
mais alors,
but then,
dans l'ONG
in the NGO
Digital for the Planet
Digital for the Planet
que j'ai fondée
that I founded
il y a trois ans,
three years ago,
on a accompagné
we accompanied
l'écriture
the writing
de la loi
of the law
climat résilience
climate resilience
et on a notamment
and we notably have
co-écrit l'amendement
co-written the amendment
qui prévoit
which provides
un enseignement obligatoire
a mandatory education
au numérique responsable
to responsible digital technology
du primaire au lycée
from primary school to high school
qui a été promulgué
who has been enacted
en 2022
in 2022
et qui prévoit
and which provides
un accompagnement
a support
aux réseaux sociaux
to social networks
à ces risques.
to these risks.
On est encore en train
We are still on the train.
de déployer les contenus
to deploy the content
et ça prend du temps
and it takes time
mais c'est déjà en place
but it is already in place
dans beaucoup d'écoles
in many schools
donc ça arrive doucement.
so it's happening gradually.
Mais tu as bien raison,
But you are absolutely right,
c'est de la santé publique
it's a matter of public health
en réalité,
in reality,
que ce soit sur le plan
whether on the level
de la sécurité
of security
ou de l'intégrité
or of integrity
psychologique.
psychological.
Donc voilà.
So here it is.
Alors mesdames,
So ladies,
ce podcast s'intitule
this podcast is titled
Les Femmes
The Women
et maïlisse à table.
and maïlisse at the table.
Alors pour terminer
So to conclude
notre conversation,
our conversation,
j'aimerais vous poser
I would like to ask you.
quelques questions
a few questions
autour de la food.
around food.
Donc pouvez-vous
So can you
chacune me dire
each one tell me
l'aliment
the food
dont vous ne pourriez pas
that you could not
vous passer,
you pass,
Anouk ?
Anouk?
Moi, c'est les crêpes au Nutella.
For me, it's Nutella pancakes.
Le jeu sait que le Nutella
The game knows the Nutella.
c'est pas bien,
it's not good,
bon les crêpes ça va
Well, the crepes are good.
mais je sais pas,
but I don't know,
c'est un truc de mon enfance.
It's a thing from my childhood.
Ma grand-mère,
My grandmother,
tous les vendredis soirs
every Friday evening
quand j'arrivais,
when I arrived,
elle me faisait des crêpes
She was making me pancakes.
au Nutella
with Nutella
et tous les vendredis soirs
and every Friday evening
je fais des crêpes
I am making pancakes.
avec mes enfants quasiment.
with my children almost.
C'est génial.
That's great.
C'est mon truc,
It's my thing,
je pourrais manger que ça.
I could only eat that.
Inès ?
Inès?
Moi tout de suite,
Me right away,
ce qui m'est venu
what came to me
c'est la burrata.
It's the burrata.
Je peux pas me passer
I can't do without it.
de burrata.
of burrata.
Puis là,
Then there,
c'est la bonne saison
it's the right season
pour la burrata.
for the burrata.
Il nous manque
We are missing him/her.
un tout petit peu de soleil
a tiny bit of sunshine
et de l'huile d'olive.
and olive oil.
Et t'as Caroline ?
And how about Caroline?
Moi je crois
I believe.
que c'est les amandes au chocolat.
what chocolate almonds are.
Je réfléchissais à ceux
I was thinking about those.
entre chocolat
between chocolate
et amandes au chocolat
and chocolate almonds
mais vraiment
but really
les amandes au chocolat,
chocolate-covered almonds,
tu sais ces petites amandes
you know those little almonds
en robux de chocolat
in chocolate robux
et ça,
and that,
il faut pas m'en laisser
Don't let me down.
devant moi.
in front of me.
Ça c'est un plaisir
That's a pleasure.
raisonnable.
reasonable.
Alors votre Madeleine de Proust ?
So, what is your Proust's madeleine?
La crêpe au Nutella
The Nutella pancake
en fait un peu partie.
in fact, it's a bit part of it.
Maintenant,
Now,
on est passé dans un abus
we have entered into an abuse
mais franchement,
but honestly,
je dirais la crêpe au Nutella,
I would say the Nutella crepe.
c'est vraiment le truc
it's really the thing
de...
from...
C'est le truc du moment
It's the thing of the moment.
en plus.
in addition.
Quand j'en remange
When I eat it again.
longtemps après,
long time later,
c'est vraiment mon truc,
it's really my thing,
ça me rappelle
It reminds me.
quand j'étais petite,
when I was little,
je sais pas,
I don't know,
ces moments d'insouciance.
these moments of carefree spontaneity.
J'allais toujours
I was always going.
chez ma grand-mère
at my grandmother's house
tous les week-ends
every weekend
pour monter à cheval
to ride a horse
d'ailleurs avec Lisa
besides with Lisa
qui est mon associée aujourd'hui.
who is my partner today.
C'était vraiment
It was really
mon petit rituel,
my little ritual,
mon sas de décompression
my decompression chamber
parce qu'en plus
because on top of that
comme mes parents
like my parents
se sont séparés
have separated
et que j'étais un enfant unique,
and that I was an only child,
c'était vraiment mon lieu
it was really my place
un petit peu safe place.
a little bit safe place.
Du coup,
So,
c'est resté là-dedans.
It's stayed in there.
Donc quand je mange
So when I eat
une crêpe au Nutella,
a Nutella pancake,
ça me rappelle tout ça.
That reminds me of all that.
Inès ?
Inès?
Moi, c'est les gnocchis.
Me, it's gnocchi.
Mais je suis italienne.
But I am Italian.
C'est très...
It's very...
Où est-ce que j'allais dire ?
Where was I going to say?
Oui, je suis italienne.
Yes, I am Italian.
Ma mère est berbère d'Algérie,
My mother is Berber from Algeria.
mon père est italien croate
my father is Italian Croatian
et la nourriture
and the food
de toute la Méditerranée,
from all of the Mediterranean,
les gnocchis au beurre de sauge.
gnocchi with sage butter.
C'est bien plus classe
It's much more stylish.
que la crêpe au Nutella.
than the Nutella crêpe.
Ma mère me faisait ça
My mother used to do that to me.
et c'est vrai que...
and it's true that...
Moi, c'est le Saint-Honoré
Me, it's the Saint-Honoré.
parce que je crois
because I believe
que c'est le gâteau
what the cake is
où tu peux me l'offrir
where can you give it to me
à n'importe quelle occasion.
at any opportunity.
La vie s'arrête, en fait.
Life stops, in fact.
C'est trop bon, Saint-Honoré.
It's so good, Saint-Honoré.
Ah, le Saint-Honoré, oui.
Ah, the Saint-Honoré, yes.
Et puis, c'est le gâteau
And then, it's the cake.
que ma mère m'offrait
that my mother would give me
à tous mes anniversaires
for all my birthdays
depuis que je suis toute petite.
since I was very little.
Donc vraiment,
So really,
dès qu'on veut me faire plaisir,
as soon as someone wants to please me,
on m'offre un Saint-Honoré.
I am being offered a Saint-Honoré.
Moi, mon fils,
Me, my son,
je l'appelle mon Saint-Honoré.
I call it my Saint-Honoré.
C'est ma pâtisserie préférée.
This is my favorite pastry shop.
C'est drôle.
It's funny.
Le plat que vous cuisinez
The dish that you are cooking.
à vos amis ?
to your friends?
Moi, je ne cuisine jamais.
I never cook.
J'achète libanais.
I buy Lebanese.
Et Inès ?
And Inès?
Moi, j'aime bien faire
I like to do.
une salade aux petites épeautres
a spelt salad
avec des grenades
with grenades
et plein de bonnes choses dedans.
and plenty of good things inside.
C'est une salade
It's a salad.
un peu libanaise aussi,
a little Lebanese too,
très méditerranéenne.
very Mediterranean.
Moi, alors moi,
Me, then me,
depuis que j'ai monté ma boîte,
since I started my business,
je suis un peu comme toi.
I am a bit like you.
Je ne cuisine plus du tout.
I no longer cook at all.
Mais avant, avant,
But first, first,
je faisais très bien
I was doing very well.
la frittata aux épinards.
spinach frittata.
Alors, mon mari va être
So, my husband is going to be
moins de rire en entendant ça
Less laughter upon hearing that.
parce qu'il va me dire
because he is going to tell me
qu'il ne l'a pas vue
that he did not see her
depuis cinq ans.
for five years.
Mais je pourrais la refaire.
But I could do it again.
Le restaurant qui ne déçoit jamais ?
The restaurant that never disappoints?
Alors, c'est une adresse
So, it's an address.
que j'adore.
that I love.
C'est le parc à Boulogne,
It's the park in Boulogne.
sous la ville de Boulogne.
under the city of Boulogne.
Mais effectivement,
But indeed,
c'est une valeur sûre.
It's a safe bet.
Il y a des trucs,
There are things,
il y a des poireaux à la vinaigrette,
there are leeks with vinaigrette,
des radis avec du beurre,
radishes with butter,
des trucs assez old school,
some pretty old school stuff,
mais que j'adore
but that I adore
parce que c'est assez brut,
because it’s quite raw,
ce n'est pas trop travaillé.
It's not too worked on.
C'est bon,
It's good,
un peu comme à la maison.
a bit like home.
C'est pour ça que j'aime
That's why I love it.
aller déjeuner là-bas
to go have lunch over there
et ça ne me déçoit jamais.
and it never disappoints me.
Inès ?
Inès?
Moi, je dirais
I would say
chez Marcello,
at Marcello's,
Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
C'est un Italien.
He is an Italian.
Vous aurez compris.
You will have understood.
Comme par hasard.
As if by chance.
C'est par hasard,
It's by chance,
complètement au hasard.
completely at random.
C'est Marcello.
It's Marcello.
Non, ça ne déçoit jamais.
No, it never disappoints.
C'est trop bon
It's too good.
et c'est fait maison
and it is homemade
et les choix des légumes,
and the choices of vegetables,
tout est hyper frais, local.
Everything is super fresh, local.
C'est très bon.
It's very good.
Et moi,
And me,
c'est le restaurant Bambou
It's the Bambou restaurant.
dans le deuxième
in the second
qui est juste incroyable
who is just incredible
autant par le cadre.
as much by the framework.
Enfin, tu as l'impression
Finally, you have the impression
de sortir complètement de Paris.
to completely leave Paris.
Un immense jardin
A huge garden
et puis le lieu
and then the place
et la cuisine est thaïlandaise
and the cuisine is Thai
et c'est aussi bon
and it's also good
que l'Italien.
than the Italian.
Et non, vraiment,
And no, really,
la cuisine est excellente
the cuisine is excellent
et c'est ma cantine.
And this is my cafeteria.
Et alors,
And so,
votre sortie de route
your off-road departure
de prédilection ?
preferred?
Alors moi,
So for me,
je ne suis pas un bon exemple
I am not a good example.
parce que pourtant,
because yet,
je parle bien.
I speak well.
C'est la crêpe.
It's the crepe.
En fait,
In fact,
c'est une réponse
it's an answer
qui marche pour tout.
who walks for everything.
Non, mais ma sortie de route,
No, but my off-road experience,
c'est à 4h,
It's at 4 o'clock.
si j'ai trop faim
if I'm too hungry
et que je suis au bureau,
and that I am at the office,
c'est de descendre
it's about going down
au Franprix en bas
at the Franprix below
et d'acheter
and to buy
des petits écoliers.
young schoolboys.
Chocolat au lait,
Milk chocolate,
le truc le plus gras,
the greasiest thing,
le plus riche,
the richest,
le plus mauvais
the worst
pour le microbiote
for the microbiota
mais ça me fait trop plaisir.
but it makes me very happy.
Après une journée
After a day
bien stressante et tout.
quite stressful and all.
Moi,
Me,
il y a vraiment
there is really
un côté...
one side...
Je pensais que c'était
I thought it was
assez sain,
healthy enough,
moi,
me,
les petits écoliers.
the little schoolchildren.
Je me disais,
I was telling myself,
c'est un petit carré de chocolat
it's a small square of chocolate
sur un petit biscuit.
on a small cookie.
Je pense quand même
I still think.
tout ce qui est gâteau industriel,
everything that is industrial cake,
ce n'est pas le top
it's not great
mais c'est vraiment
but it is really
la sortie de route
the road exit
où je veux vraiment
where I really want
manger toute la boîte
eat the whole box
et ne rien dire à personne.
and not say anything to anyone.
Le soir,
In the evening,
j'ai fait une petite salade
I made a small salad.
à mon mari
to my husband
parce qu'il fait souvent attention.
because he often pays attention.
On ne déclare jamais
One never declares.
les sorties de route.
road departures.
Jamais.
Never.
Tu reviens,
You come back,
tu manges le dîner
You are eating dinner.
comme si tu n'avais pas mangé
as if you hadn't eaten
depuis midi.
since noon.
Il me dit,
He tells me,
il n'y a pas une petite douceur
There is not a little treat.
en dessert ?
For dessert?
Je dis,
I say,
non,
no,
tu ne vas pas manger
You are not going to eat.
une petite douceur.
a little sweetness.
Je me suis envoyé
I sent myself.
le paquet de petits écoliers.
the package of little schoolchildren.
Inès ?
Inès?
Moi,
Me,
j'habite dans le 13e
I live in the 13th.
près de chez moi
near my home
et c'est vraiment
and it's really
terrible.
terrible.
C'est mon malheur
It is my misfortune.
dans ma vie.
in my life.
Il y a un petit coffee shop
There is a small coffee shop.
asiatique
Asian
et ils font
and they do
des fluffy pancakes.
fluffy pancakes.
C'est des nuages.
It's clouds.
Je ne sais pas
I don't know.
si vous avez déjà goûté
if you have already tasted
ces pancakes japonais.
these Japanese pancakes.
Au Nutella ?
With Nutella?
Je les prends au tiramisu.
I take them with tiramisu.
Je vous jure
I swear to you.
que ce n'est pas une blague.
that it's not a joke.
Je les prends au goût
I take them by the taste.
jusqu'au bout.
to the end.
Mais c'est les meilleurs.
But they are the best.
C'est le meilleur goût
It's the best taste.
et vraiment,
and really,
je vous conseille,
I advise you,
c'est à Tolbiac,
it's in Tolbiac,
c'est Foua Foua
It's Foua Foua.
et à chaque fois
and every time
que j'ai trop travaillé
that I worked too much
ou j'ai pris
where I took
une mauvaise nouvelle,
bad news,
ou j'ai pris
where I took
une bonne nouvelle,
good news,
toutes les excuses sont bonnes
All excuses are good.
pour descendre deux minutes.
to go down for two minutes.
Je vais chez Foua Foua,
I am going to Foua Foua's.
je prends mes pancakes,
I take my pancakes,
ils sont immenses,
they are immense,
il y a genre 800 calories dedans.
There are like 800 calories in it.
Mais ce n'est pas grave du tout.
But it's really not a big deal at all.
J'adore ça
I love it.
et parfois,
and sometimes,
j'emmène des amis
I'm taking some friends.
et comme ça,
and like that,
je déculpabilise.
I take the guilt off myself.
Je ne veux pas venir
I don't want to come.
à Calais,
in Calais,
moi, je t'invite,
I invite you.
on va manger des pancakes.
We're going to eat pancakes.
Et toi, Caroline ?
And you, Caroline?
Alors, je ne sais pas
Well, I don’t know.
si c'est dans le domaine
if it's in the field
de la food,
some food,
mais moi,
but me,
c'est un Moscow Mule.
It's a Moscow Mule.
C'est-à-dire,
That is to say,
tu parlais des jours
you were talking about the days
où tu reçois
where you receive
une mauvaise nouvelle
bad news
ou une très bonne,
or a very good one,
quoi qu'il arrive,
whatever happens,
c'est Moscow Mule.
It's a Moscow Mule.
Ouais, c'est...
Yeah, it’s...
Un petit truc à moi, ouais.
A little thing of mine, yeah.
Et après,
And then,
pour bien finir dans le cliché,
to end well in the cliché,
il y a aussi la pizza
there is also pizza
au feu de bois.
over a wood fire.
On ne va pas se mentir.
We're not going to lie to ourselves.
Il a fallu,
It took,
en tant qu'italienne,
as an Italian,
t'es obligée.
You're required to.
Il manquait ça.
It was missing that.
Chez Pépé,
At Grandpa's,
dans le cinquième,
in the fifth,
c'est la meilleure pizza de Paris.
It's the best pizza in Paris.
Parole d'une italienne.
Words of an Italian woman.
Sur ce,
On that note,
c'est le moment
it's the moment
de sortir de table.
to leave the table.
Merci beaucoup
Thank you very much.
à toutes les trois
to all three
d'avoir partagé ce moment.
for sharing this moment.
Merci à toi.
Thank you.
