Une petite pression, les équipes m'ont vu arriver en me disant

Je me lève à 5h du mat et je rentre chez moi à 9h.

Donc depuis que j'ai repris.

Donc c'est parti haut et une fois en haut, ça ne s'est pas accroché, ça s'est écroulé.

So it took off high and once at the top, it didn't catch on, it collapsed.

C'est ça que tu veux dire ? Comme tu dis, on sait ce qu'on va faire dans 15 ans.

J'étais très focus sur la reprise de boîte et j'ai adressé au total 8 dossiers

I was very focused on the business takeover and I submitted a total of 8 files.

sur lesquels j'ai bidé avec des associés.

Je dirais que ça a pris un mois où les gens me regardent,

I would say it took a month for people to look at me,

sont un peu tendus en me rencontrant.

Cette qualité-là, elle s'exprime particulièrement dans des moments de flottement.

En fait, on a eu un démarrage d'un side project

qui est venu d'une demande très, très forte de part d'influenceurs sur notre projet.

Et on y a cru très, très fort.

And we believed in it very, very strongly.

On a mis nos moyens dessus.

We put our resources into it.

Et ça a démarré très, très fort, d'ailleurs.

And it started very, very strong, by the way.

Et ça a été, en fait, un feu de paille.

And it was, in fact, a flash in the pan.

Donc, c'est parti haut.

So, here we go high.

Et une fois en haut, en vrai, ça ne s'est pas accroché.

And once up there, in reality, it didn't stick.

Ça s'est écroulé.

It collapsed.

Sauf que là, j'avais cramé du temps.

Except that there, I had burned some time.

Moi, j'étais déjà avec les trois enfants.

I was already with the three children.

Bref, il y avait des contingences matérielles qui commençaient à devenir problématiques.

Non, je ne me suis jamais retrouvé en situation problématique.

Mais justement, à un moment donné, il y a des moments où on se dit,

si je poursuis, ça peut devenir problématique.

If I continue, it could become problematic.

Ça va créer un stress.

Alors même que je n'étais pas assez sûr de moi pour me dire, j'y vais.

Even though I wasn't sure enough of myself to say, I'm going for it.

Je n'avais pas les produits market fit qu'on cherche tous.

I didn't have the market fit products that we all look for.

En toute honnêteté, je ne l'avais pas.

To be completely honest, I didn't have it.

J'avais des milliards d'idées pour l'obtenir, mais je ne l'avais pas.

I had billions of ideas to get it, but I didn't have it.

Et donc, à un moment donné, je me suis dit,

And so, at one point, I said to myself,

je vais plutôt mettre toute mon énergie à avoir un rebond qui va m'exciter

I'm going to focus all my energy on achieving a comeback that will excite me.

plutôt qu'à m'entêter.

rather than stubbornly insisting.

Et d'ailleurs, souvent, ce que je dis, c'est que ma startup, je ne l'ai pas réussie.

And besides, often what I say is that I haven't succeeded with my startup.

Mais j'ai réussi indirectement.

But I succeeded indirectly.

Et mon succès, ça a été Etam.

And my success was Etam.

Eh oui.

Oh yes.

Mon succès, c'était Etam parce que la manière dont j'ai trouvé le job,

My success was Etam because of the way I found the job,

je me suis pris comme un entrepreneur qui n'a pas de moyens,

I took myself as an entrepreneur who has no resources.

qui veut aller vite s'y prendre.

Who wants to go fast, takes their time.

Et puis, une fois chez Etam, j'ai cartonné

And then, once I was at Etam, I really excelled.

un mindset qui n'avait rien à voir avec un directeur digital standard.

a mindset that had nothing to do with a standard digital manager.

Et du coup, on a tout de suite eu des très, très beaux résultats.

And as a result, we immediately got some very, very beautiful results.

Ça m'a mis en avant.

It put me in the spotlight.

Et d'ailleurs, j'ai été DG pendant deux ans.

And by the way, I was CEO for two years.

Et tout ça, en fait, il y a une histoire de cause,

un enchaînement de causes et d'effets directement liés à ce projet entrepreneurial.

Après, on y met tant l'énergie.

Et j'ai été bien servi.

And I was well served.

J'ai des carrières de promotion qui ont des vies

I have promotional careers that have lives.

beaucoup plus aventureuses que moi,

much more adventurous than I am,

mais j'ai eu ma petite dose comme tout jeune officier

but I had my little dose like any young officer

aujourd'hui dans l'armée.

today in the army.

Mais assez rapidement, j'ai vu que j'aimais cette vie d'aventure,

But quite quickly, I saw that I loved this life of adventure,

mais j'aimais moins la vie de grande structure.

but I liked the life of a large organization less.

Dans l'armée, on sait ce qu'on va faire dans 15 ans,

In the army, you know what you're going to do in 15 years,

mais on ne sait pas ce qu'on va faire dans 15 jours.

but we don't know what we will do in 15 days.

Donc ça, c'est excitant.

So that is exciting.

Mais savoir ce qu'on va faire dans 15 ans,

But knowing what we will do in 15 years,

moi, ça me déprimait.

It depressed me.

Et j'avais envie de pouvoir aller plus vite,

And I wanted to be able to go faster,

j'avais envie de pouvoir prendre des risques,

I wanted to be able to take risks,

j'avais envie de passer par des courts circuits,

I wanted to go through shortcuts,

quitte à me planter.

even if it means screwing myself over.

Et l'armée, pour le coup, est assez bornée pour ça.

And the army, for that matter, is quite narrow-minded.

On sait qu'on doit franchir chaque grade,

We know that we must pass each grade,

chaque grade, il y a un temps, il faut qu'on ait des notations

At each level, there is a time when we need to have evaluations.

pour pouvoir être dans l'eau du panier,

to be able to be in the water of the basket,

réussir des concours internes,

succeed in internal competitions,

pour pouvoir accéder à toujours plus de responsabilités.

to be able to take on more and more responsibilities.

C'est ça que tu veux dire quand tu dis

Is that what you mean when you say

qu'on sait ce qu'on va faire dans 15 ans ?

Do we know what we will be doing in 15 years?

Oui, exactement.

Yes, exactly.

Une carrière d'assaincière.

A career in sanitation.

Rien n'est tracé.

Nothing is set in stone.

Il ne peut que faire moins bien que la carrière qui lui est prévue.

He can only do worse than the career that is planned for him.

En réalité, soit parce qu'il a été moins bien noté,

In reality, either because it was rated lower,

soit parce qu'il a eu un pépin,

either because he had a mishap,

ou parce qu'il ne s'est pas accroché sur les concours.

or because he didn't stick with the competitions.

Et ça, moi, ça me déprimait,

And that, for me, it depressed me,

l'idée de me remettre à l'école,

the idea of going back to school,

entre guillemets, préparer un concours.

"to prepare for a competition."

Cette perspective me déprimait.

This perspective depressed me.

Je n'avais pas envie de ça.

I didn't want that.

Mais j'avais envie de cette vie aventureuse.

But I longed for this adventurous life.

Donc j'ai fait une première partie de carrière,

So I had a first part of my career,

j'ai fait tout mon temps de lieutenant,

I served my full time as a lieutenant.

pour ceux qui connaissent un peu l'armée,

for those who know a bit about the army,

ils voient ce que c'est.

They see what it is.

Et quand je suis passé capitaine,

And when I became a captain,

j'ai quitté l'institution.

I left the institution.

Mais je l'ai quitté avec toujours cette envie d'aventure.

But I left him with that desire for adventure.

Moi, j'étais prêt à tout.

I was ready for anything.

S'il fallait être vendeur chez McDo

If one had to be a seller at McDonald's

pour faire vivre la famille,

to support the family,

je n'avais pas peur de ça.

I wasn't afraid of that.

J'avais 27 ans,

I was 27 years old,

j'avais déjà un enfant.

I already had a child.

Mais la vie de famille,

But family life,

on n'avait pas des goûts de luxe,

we didn't have luxurious tastes,

c'était bon.

It was good.

Du coup, j'ai quitté.

So, I quit.

Et mon rêve, déjà, c'était d'être DG.

And my dream, already, was to be a CEO.

Je ne savais pas de quoi,

I didn't know what.

mais j'avais envie d'être DG d'un truc.

but I wanted to be the CEO of something.

Et j'avais conscience que je pouvais être DG.

And I was aware that I could be the CEO.

La partie que ce n'est pas vrai,

The part that is not true,

mais à l'époque, je me disais,

but at the time, I was saying to myself,

je peux être DG de n'importe quoi.

I can be the CEO of anything.

C'est peut-être pour ça que tu as réussi à l'être.

Maybe that's why you managed to be it.

C'est peut-être parce que tu avais ce truc en tête.

Maybe it's because you had that thing on your mind.

Oui, mais je pense que je suis quelqu'un

Yes, but I think I am someone.

qui ne met pas trop de filtres.

who doesn't use too many filters.

Il croit toujours que les choses sont un peu possibles.

He still believes that things are a little possible.

Et donc, j'ai commencé.

And so, I started.

Je me disais, bon, j'ai vraiment,

I was thinking to myself, well, I really,

je connais mon caractère.

I know my character.

Il y a un truc que j'avais compris dès le début par intuition,

There is one thing I understood from the beginning by intuition,

c'est qu'un DG, c'était le premier commercial de sa boîte.

He's just a CEO; he was the first salesperson in his company.

Et que je n'avais vraiment pas l'âme d'un commercial.

And that I really did not have the spirit of a salesperson.

Et ce n'est pas ce qu'on apprend à Saint-Cyr.

And that is not what we learn at Saint-Cyr.

Et donc, moi, mon histoire,

And so, my story,

c'est que j'ai acheté le bouquin commercial pour les nuls.

It's that I bought the commercial book for dummies.

C'est vrai ?

Is it true?

Je l'ai potassé.

I worked on it thoroughly.

Et je suis arrivé en rendez-vous en le connaissant par cœur.

And I arrived at the meeting knowing it by heart.

Donc, j'ai fait croire que j'étais un bon commercial.

So, I made people believe that I was a good salesperson.

Et ça m'a permis d'être embauché d'abord chez Alten,

And it allowed me to be hired first at Alten,

puis ensuite chez SQLE,

then afterwards at SQLE,

qui était la CSE de vie dans laquelle j'ai vraiment fait un beau parcours.

who was the CSE of life in which I really had a great journey.

Et j'ai appliqué le bouquin en réalité.

And I applied the book in reality.

Pratiquement à la lettre.

Practically word for word.

Moi, je suis un super vendeur de ce bouquin

I am a great seller of this book.

parce que j'ai appliqué le bouquin à la lettre

because I applied the book to the letter

et j'ai très bien marché.

and I walked very well.

Ça a été un peu laborieux pendant 6-9 mois.

It was a bit difficult for 6-9 months.

Donc, c'est un bon bouquin ?

So, is it a good book?

Oui, c'est un bon bouquin, oui.

Yes, it's a good book, yes.

Il faut s'accrocher,

You have to hold on.

parce que le commerce, ce n'est pas si facile.

Et surtout, c'est un bouquin qui apprend à ne pas se mentir.

C'est ce qu'il faut, c'est avoir une bonne offre.

Donc, du coup, ça, plus j'avais un peu...

Donc, j'étais bien repéré par la direction.

Et quand il y a eu des jeux de chaises musicaux

j'ai pu prendre la responsabilité d'une partie de cette agence

où j'étais tout seul à diriger 100 personnes,

Le fait marquant, j'ai eu comme N-1 ma directrice commerciale

Donc, j'avais fait un...

So, I had made a...

Ça a été un beau jump.

Et comment ça a été vécu, ça, en interne ?

And how was that experienced internally?

Évidemment, au début, ça pique un peu, même pour moi,

Il fallait renouveler, mettre un coup de souffle.

Donc, l'e-commerce, il y avait beaucoup de projets e-commerce.

Et la spécificité d'SQLite est d'avoir une agence digitale.

Une digital agency, comme on disait, en interne,

A digital agency, as we used to say, internally,

avec qui je bossais très, très bien.

Et j'avais réussi à bien les embarquer

Et on gagnait deux appels d'offres sur trois

et accompagnement UX et marketing.

je trouvais ça passionnant

et j'étais hyper inspiré par ça.
