Bonjour, je m'appelle Thierry Martenon, je suis sculpteur

Hello, my name is Thierry Martenon, I am a sculptor.

Je travaille en Chartreuse, dans un petit village, le désert

I work in Chartreuse, in a small village, the desert.

Christophe a découvert mon travail il y a quelques années

Christophe discovered my work a few years ago.

Via une expo, il est monté à l'atelier

Through an exhibition, he went up to the workshop.

Et du coup, ça a tout de suite matché entre nous

And so, we clicked right away.

On est de la même génération, on est tous les deux des montagnards

We are from the same generation, we are both mountain dwellers.

Et du coup, je ne sais pas, un lien fort s'est créé

And so, I don't know, a strong bond was formed.

Ensuite, il y a quelques temps, dès l'origine de son projet

Then, there was some time ago, from the beginning of his project.

Il est venu me voir, il m'en a parlé

He came to see me, he told me about it.

Moi j'ai trouvé ça absolument formidable, carrément génial

I found it absolutely fantastic, really awesome.

Et du coup, voilà

And so, here it is.

Et du coup, il y a quelques années, il m'a dit

And so, a few years ago, he told me.

Il voulait absolument que je sois associé à ça

He insisted that I be involved in this.

Et moi j'en suis ravi, c'est une aventure totalement incroyable

And I am delighted, it is a totally incredible adventure.

Et une belle aventure humaine aussi

And a beautiful human adventure too.

Et du coup, on travaille tous les deux de la matière

And so, we both work with the material.

Derrière, on a un savoir-faire qui est hyper important

Behind this, we have a know-how that is very important.

Moi je sculpte le bois, et lui c'est un sculpteur de saveur

I carve wood, and he is a sculptor of flavor.

Il y a quelque chose qui m'inspire beaucoup

En tout cas, il essaie d'épurer les choses

Grosse, grosse relation avec la nature

C'est hyper important

Donc les sculptures vont se trouver au centre du restaurant

Elles vont être magnifiquement mises en valeur par la lumière ambiante

Pareil, les anciens platanes qui étaient là avant

Et du coup, il y a un symbole
