Tu es actrice, journaliste et plus récemment encore réalisatrice de films.

Tu es aussi une jeune maman de deux enfants, si je ne me trompe pas.

Ça va, parce que j'ai la chance de m'extirper du monde un petit peu.

So, yeah.

En fait, mon parcours, moi, j'ai commencé à 20 ans à Canal.

In fact, my journey started at 20 years old at Canal.

Je suis rentrée en stage.

I started my internship.

J'étais en cursus de Dug à Nice, justement, où une partie de ma famille est, était et encore aujourd'hui.

I was in a Dug program in Nice, precisely, where part of my family is, was, and still is today.

Et j'ai décidé de les rejoindre.

And I decided to join them.

Enfin, j'ai décidé d'aller là-bas et de faire une fac à l'époque qui était art, communication, langage.

Finally, I decided to go there and do a degree at the time that was art, communication, language.

Parce que comme je venais d'une famille qui n'avait pas de sous, il y avait très vite un stage professionnalisant en deuxième année

Because I came from a family that didn't have money, there was very quickly a professional internship in the second year.

qui me permettait de peut-être mettre le pied dans une entreprise.

which might allow me to get a foot in the door of a company.

J'ai toujours rêvé d'être actrice, mais je savais que ce métier était à la fois extrêmement difficile et injuste.

J'avais cette conscience-là très tôt et je me suis dit que du coup, et je n'avais pas du tout les moyens d'aller faire le conservatoire

I had this awareness very early on and I told myself that, therefore, I didn't have the means to go to the conservatory at all.

parce que du coup, on ne peut pas travailler à côté.

because as a result, we can't work on the side.

Ce n'était pas possible.

It was not possible.

Donc, je me suis dit que j'allais passer un Dug avec cette option qui permettait d'avoir un stage.

So, I told myself that I would take a Dug with this option that allowed for an internship.

Et donc, j'ai eu la chance de pouvoir rentrer à Canal dans l'émission de cinéma, justement.

And so, I had the chance to return to Canal in the film show, specifically.

Et puis, en fait, j'étais assistante de prod au départ.

And then, in fact, I was a production assistant at the beginning.

Et puis, ce stage durait 15 jours.

And then, this internship lasted 15 days.

Et puis, j'ai eu la chance que ça marche très bien.

And then, I was lucky that it worked out very well.

Ça matche très bien plutôt avec les producteurs de l'émission à l'époque.

It matches very well with the producers of the show at the time.

Le plus de cinéma, c'était Stéphane Bergogno, notamment, et qui fait aujourd'hui beaucoup de documentaires.

The most in cinema was Stéphane Bergogno, in particular, who today makes a lot of documentaries.

D'ailleurs, c'est drôle.

Et on s'est super bien entendus.

And we got along really well.

Ils ont voulu me garder.

Je n'ai pas de sous.

Et en fait, Stéphane Bergouniou a croisé le producteur du Zapping, Patrick Menet, dans les couloirs.

And in fact, Stéphane Bergouniou ran into the producer of Zapping, Patrick Menet, in the hallways.

Et il lui a dit, écoute, j'ai une fille, elle s'appelle Haute-Pépin.

And he said to her, listen, I have a daughter, her name is Haute-Pépin.

Tu n'as pas besoin de quelqu'un, toi, au Zapping ?

Et il a dit, si, si, justement, on cherche une fille.

Moi, c'était une émission, évidemment, que j'adorais, que je connaissais déjà bien,

For me, it was a show, of course, that I loved, that I already knew well,

qui était déjà quand même mythique.

who was already quite legendary.

Et donc, j'ai décidé de passer ces essais et j'ai été prise.

And so, I decided to take these tests and I was accepted.

Donc, voilà.

J'ai bossé pendant de nombreuses années à Canal, au sein du Zapping.

I worked for many years at Canal, within the Zapping.

Et en même temps, ça m'a permis de me payer des stages de théâtre.

And at the same time, it allowed me to pay for theater classes.

J'ai fait des stages avec des Américains et surtout des profs américains, en fait,

I did internships with Americans and especially American teachers, actually.

Et puis, parce que je ne pouvais pas faire d'école, puisque je travaillais déjà,

And then, because I couldn't go to school, since I was already working,

ce n'était toujours pas possible.

Mais j'apprenais intensément.

But I was learning intensively.

Comme ça, je me faisais des bulles à moi.

This way, I was making bubbles for myself.

Et puis, en fait, j'étais repérée.

And then, actually, I was spotted.

J'étais repérée dans les couloirs, le fameux rêve qu'on a tous.

I was spotted in the hallways, the famous dream we all have.

Et puis, j'ai été chroniqueuse pour une émission culture où je parlais de mode,

And then, I was a columnist for a cultural show where I talked about fashion,

alors qu'évidemment, je n'y connaissais rien du tout.

while obviously, I knew nothing about it at all.

Et bon, cette émission s'est finalement arrêtée.

And well, this show finally stopped.

Je suis repartie au Zapping.

I went back to Zapping.

Et puis après, j'ai continué à faire des castings pubs, puis des courts-métrages,

And then after that, I continued to do casting calls for commercials, then short films,

puis des moyens-métrages.

then short films.

Et puis, un jour, en faisant une pub, un jour, je rencontre Mai Wen.

And then, one day, while doing a commercial, one day, I meet Mai Wen.

Mai Wen tombe sur une bande-annonce, une bande démo que j'avais faite.

Mai Wen comes across a trailer, a demo reel that I had made.

Et préparait une pub pour Mythique.

And was preparing an ad for Mythique.

Et voulait me prendre, ce que je ne savais pas.

And wanted to take me, which I did not know.

Moi, je venais de voir Police.

I just saw Police.

J'avais adoré Police.

I had loved Police.

Et voilà, un directeur de casting m'appelle.

And here it is, a casting director is calling me.

Il me dit, écoute, on devrait, pour une pub, à l'époque, je passais mon temps à faire des pubs,

He tells me, listen, we should, for an ad, back then, I spent my time making commercials,

à me faire jeter.

to be thrown out.

C'est-à-dire qu'on était 200.

That is to say, there were 200 of us.

On n'était toujours plus que deux.

There were always only two of us.

C'était moi et une autre.

Et c'était toujours l'autre qui était prise.

Donc, j'ai failli partir comme ça en Afrique du Sud, au Brésil, dans des endroits superbes.

So, I almost went like that to South Africa, to Brazil, to some beautiful places.

Mais à chaque fois, ça ne marchait pas.

But each time, it didn't work.

Et voilà, il me dit, écoute, il y a une pub.

And there you go, he tells me, listen, there's an ad.

Et puis, pour Mythique, je dis, ah non, non, non.

And then, for Mythique, I say, oh no, no, no.

Il dit, ouais, mais c'est Mai Wen qu'elle réalise.

He says, yeah, but it's Mai Wen who's directing it.

Je dis, ah bon.

I say, oh really.

Et puis, voilà, j'ai passé ce casting.

And then, there you go, I passed this audition.

Elle m'a rappelé.

She called me back.

J'ai eu un coup de téléphone de Mai Wen le lendemain.

I received a phone call from Mai Wen the next day.

J'avais une grippe pas possible.

I had a terrible flu.

En plus, je ne voulais pas y aller.

Besides, I didn't want to go there.

Je voulais annuler.

I wanted to cancel.

Je l'ai passé.

I passed it.

Et puis, j'ai eu ce coup de téléphone.

And then, I received that phone call.

Bonjour, c'est Mai Wen.

Hello, it's Mai Wen.

Je voudrais te dire, écoute, j'aimerais qu'on travaille ensemble.

I would like to tell you, listen, I would like us to work together.

Alors, bien sûr, c'était pour une pub.

Well, of course, it was for an ad.

Mais c'était déjà formidable pour moi.

But it was already wonderful for me.

Et cette pub, en fait, a fait le tour.

And this ad, in fact, has gone around.

Et du coup, Canal m'a repéré, alors que j'étais quand même dans leur couloir depuis plus de dix ans.

And so, Canal noticed me, even though I had been in their corridor for over ten years.

Il m'a demandé de devenir Miss Météo sur la matinale, le matin de Canal.

He asked me to become the weather girl on the morning show, the morning of Canal.

Ce que j'ai fait quelques mois avant de repartir en tournage.

What I did a few months before going back to filming.

Et puis, j'ai accompli un peu ma place quand je suis revenue.

And then, I found a bit of my place when I came back.

Et puis, je suis retournée au zapping.

And then, I went back to channel surfing.

Et ensuite, on a été virée par Bolloré.

And then, we were fired by Bolloré.

Et ensuite, j'ai décidé à 35 ans de passer un diplôme pour devenir journaliste.

And then, at 35, I decided to pursue a degree to become a journalist.

Et c'est là que je suis rentrée.

And that's when I came back in.

Et c'est là que j'ai rencontré Chantal Birman.

And that's where I met Chantal Birman.

Et c'est là que je me suis dit qu'il était temps pour moi de réaliser ce que j'avais en tête depuis longtemps.

And that's when I told myself that it was time for me to make what I had in mind for a long time a reality.

Parce que j'avais déjà écrit un court-métrage que je devais réaliser.

Because I had already written a short film that I was supposed to direct.
