Ich möchte mit euch nachdenken über das Thema Autorität oder über das Thema Macht und Vollmacht.

Und zwar geht es heute um die Autorität des Königs.

Today, it is about the authority of the king.

Und der zentrale Vers, um den es sich heute drehen soll, der steht im Matthäus-Evangelium ziemlich am Ende, Matthäus 28, Vers 18.

Wenn der Herr Jesus kurz vor der Himmelfahrt seinen Jüngern begegnet,

Darüber möchte ich heute mit euch nachdenken, über die Autorität, die Macht oder die Vollmacht des Königs.

wo es einfach heißt, über Gott.

He says among the nations, the Lord is King.

Warum ist Gott König unter den Heiden?

Why is God king among the nations?

Warum kann ich im Alten Testament, und das steht jetzt gerade, wenn ihr die Verse davor und danach euch anschaut,

Why can I, in the Old Testament, and this is currently stated, if you look at the verses before and after,

also die Psalmen davor und danach, dann werdet ihr immer wieder diesen Refrain finden, der Herr ist König.

So the Psalms before and after, then you will repeatedly find this refrain, the Lord is King.

Warum ist Gott König?

Warum darf er herrschen?

Why is he allowed to rule?

Warum darf er die Regeln vorgeben?

Why is he allowed to set the rules?

Die Antwort, ganz einfach, weil er alles erschafft.

The answer is quite simple: because he creates everything.

Warum darf er alles erschaffen?

Why is he allowed to create anything?

Das wissen wir.

Für die Schöpfung liegt tatsächlich bei ihm.

For creation actually lies with him.

Er ist der Eigentümer.

He is the owner.

Er ist der Souverän.

He is the sovereign.

Er besitzt absolute Souveränität über sein Eigentum.

He has absolute sovereignty over his property.

Er kann damit machen, was er will.

He can do whatever he wants with it.

Er kann die Regeln festlegen.

He can set the rules.

Und zwar genau so, wie er will.

And exactly the way he wants.

Und dabei spielt es keine Rolle, ob das Naturgesetze sind oder moralische Gesetze.

And it does not matter whether they are natural laws or moral laws.

Er hat jedes Recht als Urheber, als Erfinder.

He has every right as the author, as the inventor.

Er hat jedes Recht, weil er Vater ist.

He has every right because he is a father.

Er hat es tatsächlich gemacht.

He actually did it.

Er ist Vater von allem, was existiert und alles gehört ihm.

He is the father of everything that exists and everything belongs to him.

Er hat Macht, Autorität.

He has power, authority.

Er hat Vollmacht über alle Dinge.

He has power of attorney over all things.

Das ist inhärente Autorität, kennt ihr.

That is inherent authority, you know.

Also jetzt vom Konzept her.

So now conceptually.

Ich weiß nur nicht, ob man es schon gedacht hat im Blick auf Gott.

I just don't know if it has already been thought in regard to God.

Und jetzt gibt es eine zweite Form von Autorität.

And now there is a second form of authority.

Das ist abgeleitete Autorität.

That is derived authority.

Das ist Autorität, die ich nicht selber habe,

That's authority that I don't have myself.

sondern die ein anderer mir gibt.

but one that someone else gives me.

Es ist die Macht dessen, der autorisiert wird.

It is the power of the one who is authorized.

Es gibt dafür ein schönes Beispiel in der Bibel.

There is a nice example of this in the Bible.

Und zwar, da kommt ein Hauptmann zu dem Herrn Jesus.

And indeed, a captain comes to the Lord Jesus.

Und dieser Zenturio in Matthäus 8,

And this centurion in Matthew 8,

der hat Autorität über etwa 100 Soldaten.

He has authority over about 100 soldiers.

Frage, woher bekommt er seine Autorität?

Question, where does he get his authority from?

Antwort, von seinem Vorgesetzten.

Response from his superior.

Also von dem dazugehörigen Tribun.

So from the corresponding tribune.

Und das ist dieser Hauptmann,

And this is this captain,

der erkennt, dass es bei Jesus ganz genau so ist.

who realizes that it is exactly the same with Jesus.

Schlagt mal auf Matthäus 8.

Turn to Matthew 8.

Matthäus 8, die Verse 8 und 9.

Matthew 8, verses 8 and 9.

Also dieser Hauptmann kommt zu Jesus und er sagt,

So this captain comes to Jesus and says,

du hast Vollmacht, du bist mit Autorität ausgestattet worden.

You have power of attorney; you have been endowed with authority.

Und er macht einen Vergleich.

And he makes a comparison.

Und ich möchte euch diesen Vergleich zeigen.

And I would like to show you this comparison.

Matthäus 8, die Verse 8 und 9.

Der Hauptmann aber antwortete und sprach,

But the captain answered and said,

Herr, ich bin nicht würdig, dass du unter mein Dach trittst,

Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,

der hat einen kranken Knecht, schickt zu Jesus

He has a sick servant, sends for Jesus.

und dann macht sich Jesus auf den Weg

And then Jesus sets out on the way.

Das ist der Glaube, den der Hauptmann hat.

That is the faith that the captain has.

Total überzeugt, warum hat er diesen Glauben?

Totally convinced, why does he have this belief?

Denn auch ich bin ein Mensch,

For I am also a human being,

unter Befehlsgewalt und habe Soldaten unter mir

under command and have soldiers under me

und sage zu diesem gehe hin und er geht

and say to this one go here and he goes

und zu einem anderen komme und er kommt

and to another I come and he comes

und zu meinem Knecht tue dies und er tut es.

And to my servant I say this, and he does it.

Also der Hauptmann hier sagt, ich habe Soldaten,

So the captain here says, I have soldiers,

die mir gehorchen, weil sie wissen,

those who obey me because they know,

dass ich selber unter Befehlsgewalt stehe.

that I am under command myself.

Heißt, über mir gibt es den Tribunen

That means there is the upper tier above me.

und die ganze Befehlskette bis ganz nach oben,

and the entire chain of command all the way to the top,

wo dann Kaiser Diperius steht.

where Emperor Diperius stands.

Und jetzt sagt dieser Hauptmann,

And now this captain says,

was für mich gilt, ich habe Befehlsgewalt,

what applies to me is that I have command authority,

ich habe eine abgeleitete Autorität,

I have a derived authority.

ich bin autorisiert von höherer Stelle,

I am authorized by a higher authority,

genau das gleiche gilt für dich.

the same applies to you.

Deswegen brauchst du nicht kommen.

That's why you don't need to come.

Du musst einfach nur befehlen und fertig.

You just have to give orders and that's it.

Das heißt, das, was den Hauptmann ausmacht,

That means what defines the captain,

ist, er sagt, bei dir, Jesus,

is, he says, with you, Jesus,

du Rabbi aus Nazareth,

you Rabbi from Nazareth,

du kannst natürlich meinen Diener heilen.

Das ist überhaupt keine Frage.

Why?

Die haben mich autorisiert

und Gott hat dich autorisiert

and God has authorized you

und deswegen ist völlig klar,

and that's why it's completely clear,

dass keine Krankheit in dieser Welt dir widerstehen kann.

that no illness in this world can resist you.

Und das gleiche gilt natürlich für keine Naturgewalt oder kein Dämon.

And the same applies, of course, to no natural disaster or demon.

Da gibt es dann andere Geschichten dazu.

There are other stories related to it.

Ich wollte euch nur zeigen,

I just wanted to show you.

es gibt zwei Sorten von Autorität.

There are two types of authority.

Es gibt die natürliche, die inhärente,

There is the natural, the inherent,

die innewohnende Autorität,

the inherent authority,

weil ich etwas schaffe, ist es meins,

because I create something, it is mine,

damit kann ich machen, was ich will.

With that, I can do what I want.

Und dann gibt es eine abgeleitete Autorität

And then there is a derived authority.

und die steckt hinter diesem Sprich nur ein Wort

and behind this saying is just one word

und mein Diener wird gesund werden.

and my servant will be healed.

Der hat das zutiefst verstanden.

He has understood that deeply.

Zwei Arten von Autorität,

Two types of authority,

inhärent, übertragen.

inherent, transferred.

Nochmal zurück zum Schöpfer.

Back to the Creator again.

Gott als der Schöpfer,

God as the Creator,

der Schöpfer besitzt absolute Macht über das Universum.

The creator possesses absolute power over the universe.

Das müssen wir einfach mal wirklich tief verstanden haben.

We really need to understand that deeply.

Alle Autorität, alle Vollmacht liegt bei ihm.

All authority, all power lies with him.

Er ist souverän.

He is confident.

Das bedeutet nicht,

That doesn't mean,

dass er alle Dinge im Universum vorherbestimmt hat,

that he has predetermined all things in the universe,

weil dann wäre freier Wille

because then there would be free will

nichts weiter als eine Illusion

nothing more than an illusion

und Gott wäre am Ende verantwortlich

and in the end, God would be responsible

für allen Blödsinn, den wir verzapfen.

for all the nonsense we spout.

Das ist nicht der Fall.

That is not the case.

Gott ist in dem Sinne souverän,

God is sovereign in that sense,

The freedom to think.

Die Freiheit, Musik zu machen und kreativ zu sein.

The freedom to make music and be creative.

Entscheidungen zu fällen.

To make decisions.

Dieses Vorrecht sollte uns nicht dazu verleiten,

This privilege should not tempt us to,

falsch über seine Autorität zu denken.

to think wrongly about his authority.

Gott ist und bleibt Herr.

God is and will remain Lord.

Es ist wirklich sein Wille, der geschieht.

It is really his will that is done.

Ja, Gott gibt dem Menschen die Möglichkeit,

Yes, God gives man the opportunity to

zu denken.

to think.

Er gibt dem Menschen Freiheit.

He gives freedom to man.

Ich denke sogar, dass er ihm ein Stück Mitverantwortung überträgt.

I even think that he is transferring a degree of shared responsibility to him.

Aber egal, wie viel Verantwortung du in deinem Leben hast,

But no matter how much responsibility you have in your life,

du wirst nie an die Stelle Gottes treten.

You will never take the place of God.

and concedes a bit of stubbornness and a bit of willfulness,

dann lasst uns wirklich bloß nicht vergessen,

Das ist also so überhaupt nicht, wie man es gewohnt war. Schlagt mal auf Matthäus 7. Das ist am Ende der Bergpredigt. Matthäus 7, die Verse 28 und 29.

Wie gesagt, für euch klingt das vielleicht ganz normal, weil wir machen das eigentlich immer so. Ganz selten mal, dass man sagt, also da gibt es noch den Prediger, der hat das auch so gesagt und selbst wenn, das Argument würde gar nicht gelten.

As I said, it may sound completely normal to you because we always do it this way. It's very rare that someone says, well, there’s also the preacher who said it like that, and even if they did, that argument wouldn't hold.

Und es geschah, als Jesus diese Worte vollendet hatte, da erstaunten die Volksmengen sehr über seine Lehre. Denn er lehrte sie wie einer, der Vollmacht hat und nicht wie ihre Schriftgelehrten.

And it happened, when Jesus had finished these words, that the crowds were very astonished at his teaching. For he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.

Also wie einer, der sich hinstellt und sagt, ich darf das einfach mal so auslegen. Ich brauche nicht einen anderen, der mich autorisiert. Ich habe die selber.

So like someone who stands up and says, I can just interpret it this way. I don't need someone else to authorize me. I have the authority myself.

Jetzt natürlich die Frage, ist das wahr? Also jeder kann sich ja hinstellen und kann für sich Autorität in Anspruch nehmen. Das heißt ja nicht, dass er sie hat.

Now, of course, the question is, is it true? Anyone can stand up and claim authority for themselves. That doesn’t mean they have it.

Das heißt, er nimmt sie erstmal nur für sich in Anspruch. Und deswegen, auch Jesus muss tatsächlich diese Autorität, die er für sich in Anspruch nimmt, er muss sie ein Stück weit beweisen.

That means he initially claims her only for himself. And therefore, Jesus must actually prove to some extent the authority that he claims for himself.

Er muss beweisen, dass er als Lehrer wirklich so lehren darf, weil Gott auf seiner Seite steht.

He must prove that he is truly allowed to teach as a teacher because God is on his side.

Und er macht das. Er macht das zum Beispiel dadurch, dass er einen Dämon austreibt, einen unreinen Geist.

And he does that. He does that, for example, by driving out a demon, an unclean spirit.

Schlagt mal auf, Markus Kapitel 1. Und dann seht ihr die Verbindung zwischen diesem Wunder, was Jesus tut und der Lehre, die er gerade gebracht hat.

Open up to Mark chapter 1. And then you will see the connection between this miracle that Jesus performs and the teaching he has just delivered.

Das Wunder zeigt den Menschen nämlich ganz greifbar, dass das, was er vorher gepredigt hat, dass er das wirklich genau so für sich alleine aus Vollmacht,

The miracle makes it very tangible for people that what he had previously preached is indeed exactly the same for him alone out of authority.

Prädigen darf. Hier, Markus Kapitel 1, Vers 27.

He is allowed to preach. Here, Mark chapter 1, verse 27.

Und sie entsetzten sich alle, sodass sie sich untereinander befragten und sagten, das ist nachdem er den Dämon austreibt, das hat die alle ein bisschen überrascht.

And they were all astonished, so that they questioned one another and said, this is after he casts out the demon, this has surprised them all a bit.

Was ist dies? Eine neue Lehre mit Vollmacht und den unreinen Geisten gebietet er und sie gehorchen ihm.

What is this? A new teaching with authority; he commands the unclean spirits, and they obey him.

An anderer Stelle heilt Jesus einen Gelähmten.

In another place, Jesus heals a paralytic.

And people say, anyone can say that.

Yes, and then it says in Matthew chapter 9, verse 6.

Damit ihr aber wisst, dass der Sohn des Menschen Vollmacht, Autorität hat, auf der Erde Sünden zu vergeben.

But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.

Und dann kommt das Wunder.

And then the miracle happens.

Dann sagt er zu dem Gelähmten.

Then he says to the paralyzed man.

Steh auf, nimm dein Bett auf und geh in dein Haus.

Get up, make your bed, and go into your house.

Also die Wunder Jesu, obwohl die zum Teil extrem eindrücklich sind, sollen vor allem eines beweisen,

So the miracles of Jesus, although they are in part extremely impressive, are primarily meant to prove one thing,

dass er tatsächlich der Christus ist, der gesalbte Gottes, der König.

that he is indeed the Christ, the anointed of God, the King.

Und dieser Jesus sagt jetzt nach seiner Auferstehung.

And this Jesus now says after his resurrection.

Und Auferstehung ist, wenn man so ein bisschen will, Bestätigungswunder der Bestätigungswunder.

And resurrection is, if you will a little bit, the miracle of miracles of confirmation.

Mehr geht nicht.

No more is possible.

Mal eben tot sein und wieder lebendig.

Just being dead and then coming back to life.

Und als verherrlichter Mensch zurückkommen.

And return as a glorified human.

Also quasi schon die Zukunft vorwegnehmen in meinem Sein.

So basically already anticipating the future in my being.

Sorry, das ist es jetzt.

Und da sagt er das, was ich am Anfang vorgelesen habe.

And then he says what I read at the beginning.

Mir ist alle Macht oder mir ist alle Vollmacht, mir ist alle Regierungsgewalt, mir ist alle Autorität gegeben im Himmel und auf Erden.

All power is given to me, all authority is given to me, all governmental power is given to me, all authority is given to me in heaven and on earth.

Jesus ist wirklich der König Gottes.

Jesus is truly the King of God.

Über alle Bereiche.

Across all areas.

Über alle Bereiche der sichtbaren und der unsichtbaren Welt.

Across all areas of the visible and the invisible world.

So wie es gebetet wurde vorhin, er hat den Namen, der über allen Namen ist.

Just as it was prayed earlier, He has the name that is above all names.

Es ist die absolut oberste Instanz.

It is the absolute highest authority.

Da geht nichts mehr drüber.

Nothing beats that.

Und Paulus lässt daran keinen Zweifel, wenn er, ausgehend von der Auferstehung, das nochmal betont.

And Paul leaves no doubt about it when he emphasizes this again, starting from the resurrection.

Bitte schlagt mal auf Epheser Kapitel 1 am Ende.

Das ist ein ganz wichtiger Punkt, dass wir verstehen, wie sehr,

dass die Autorität, die Herrschaft, dieses absolute Nummer 1 Sein Jesu, für die Apostel, absolut unverhandelbar ist.

That the authority, the sovereignty, this absolute number 1 being of Jesus, is absolutely non-negotiable for the apostles.

Epheser 1, Abvers 20.

Ephesians 1, starting from verse 20.

Da geht es um die Kraft Gottes.

It's about the power of God.

Und von der Kraft Gottes wird gesagt, die hat er in Christus wirksam werden lassen.

And it is said of the power of God that He made it effective in Christ.

Indem er ihn aus den Toten auferweckt und zu seiner Rechten in der Himmelswelt gesetzt hat.

By raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavenly realms.

Das ist ja irgendwie klar.

That's somewhat clear.

Gott in seiner Kraft.

God in His power.

Macht ihn lebendig.

Make him alive.

Himmelfahrt ab in den Himmel.

Ascension up to heaven.

Setzt ihn zur Rechten Gottes.

Set him at the right hand of God.

Und dann die Beschreibung dieses Königs.

And then the description of this king.

Vers 21.

Verse 21.

Hoch über jede Gewalt und Macht und Kraft und Herrschaft und jeden Namen.

High above all violence and power and might and dominion and every name.

Überlegt mal, wie viel Mühe er sich macht, das so zu beschreiben.

Just think about how much effort he puts into describing it that way.

Hoch über jede Gewalt und Macht und Kraft und Herrschaft und jeden Namen.

Above all violence and power and strength and dominion and every name.

Der nicht nur in diesem Zeitalter, sondern auch in dem zukünftigen genannt werden wird.

The one who will be called not only in this age but also in the age to come.

Die Königsherrschaft Jesu hat in diesem Zeitalter angefangen und wird in der Ewigkeit, das ist das kommende Zeitalter, fortgeführt werden.

The kingship of Jesus began in this age and will continue in eternity, that is, in the coming age.

Und alles hat er seinen Füßen unterworfen und ihn als Haupt über alles und interessanterweise heißt es jetzt der Gemeinde gegeben.

And he has put everything under his feet and has made him the head over everything, and interestingly, it now says to the church.

Also Herrschaft Gottes muss anfangen immer bei denen, die sich freiwillig ihm unterstellen.

Thus, the rule of God must always begin with those who voluntarily submit to Him.

Da ist das überhaupt keine Frage.

That's not a question at all.

Er ist sowieso der Souverän.

He is the sovereign anyway.

Er herrscht über alles.

He rules over everything.

Die ganze Welt ist ihm als Reich unterworfen.

The whole world is subjected to him as a kingdom.

Und trotzdem fängt diese Herrschaft, weil dieses Reich eben, das hatten wir schon, nicht von dieser Welt ist, sondern ein Reich ist, was über Herzen regiert.

And yet this dominion begins, because this kingdom, as we have already established, is not of this world, but a kingdom that rules over hearts.

Es geht um Menschen.

It's about people.

Es fängt definitiv in der Gemeinde an.

It definitely starts in the community.

Er ist das Haupt.

He is the head.

Haupt steht hier für Herrschaft.

"Haupt" stands here for "dominion."

Ein Haupt deshalb, weil der Kopf gibt den Kurs vor.

One reason is that the head sets the course.

Der König zur Rechten Gottes ist zuallererst einmal Haupt der Gemeinde.

The King at the right hand of God is above all the head of the congregation.

Der König der Glauben.

The king of faith.

Und das gilt, weil wir uns ganz natürlich seiner Autorität beugen.

And this is true because we naturally submit to his authority.

Er ist für uns die Quelle, wenn es darum geht zu fragen, nach welchen Werten leben wir, für welche Ziele.

He is the source for us when it comes to asking what values we live by and what goals we pursue.

Es ist Jesus, der über unsere Einkäufe bestimmt, über unser Familienleben, über unsere Geschäftspraxis, über unsere Freizeitgewohnheiten.

It is Jesus who determines our shopping, our family life, our business practices, and our leisure habits.

Es ist wirklich er.

It really is him.

Und deswegen lasst uns immer wieder eines klar machen.

And that's why let's always make one thing clear.

Im Blick auf diesen Anschluss.

In view of this connection.

Im Blick auf diesen Anspruch, den Paulus hier formuliert, gibt es nur zwei Möglichkeiten, wie der Mensch reagieren kann.

In light of this claim that Paul formulates here, there are only two ways in which a person can respond.

Entweder völlige Unterwerfung oder Rebellion.

Either complete submission or rebellion.

Es gibt keinen neutralen Grund dazwischen, so nach dem Motto, ja Jesus soll mal machen, ich schaue mir das von außen an.

There is no neutral reason in between, like the motto, yes, Jesus can do his thing, I'll just observe from the outside.

Versteht ihr?

Do you understand?

Das geht nicht.

That won't work.

Entweder stehe ich auf der Seite derer, die sagen, ich gehöre zu diesem Königreich, das ist mein Herr, oder ich gehöre zu der Seite der Rebellen.

Either I stand with those who say I belong to this kingdom, this is my lord, or I belong to the side of the rebels.

Und der Herr wird richten.

And the Lord will judge.

Wir haben das auch hier gelesen im Psalm 96.

We have also read this here in Psalm 96.

Er wird die Völker richten in Geratheit.

He will judge the nations in righteousness.

Und wir wissen, wem der Vater das Gericht übergeben hat.

And we know to whom the Father has entrusted the judgment.

Das ist der Sohn, der wiederkommen wird.

That is the son who will return.

Ich habe das öfter gesagt, aber ich will es nochmal wiederholen.

I have said this often, but I want to repeat it again.

Wir leben im Reich Gottes nicht in einer Demokratie.

We live in the Kingdom of God, not in a democracy.

Wenn man in einer Demokratie lebt, das tun wir ja so, gemeinhin,

If you live in a democracy, which we generally do,

dann musst du nicht mit der Regierung einverstanden sein.

Then you don't have to agree with the government.

Dann musst du nicht mit der Regierung einverstanden sein.

Then you don't have to agree with the government.

Du kannst sie in Frage stellen, du kannst gegen sie sein, du kannst sie sogar abwählen.

You can question them, you can be against them, you can even vote them out.

Tut mir leid, in einem Königreich ist das total anders.

I'm sorry, in a kingdom it's totally different.

Es gibt im Blick auf den himmlischen König nur die einen, die loyal sind.

In regards to the heavenly king, there are only those who are loyal.

Und es gibt die anderen, das sind die Verräter.

And then there are the others, those are the traitors.

Und jetzt kann ich mich im Blick auf meine Position zu dem Herrn Jesus natürlich irren.

And now I can, of course, be mistaken in regard to my position towards the Lord Jesus.

Am Ende der Bergpredigt, kurz vor der Stelle, die wir vorlesen.

At the end of the Sermon on the Mount, just before the passage we are about to read.

Da kommen Leute zu Jesus und denken, sie sind gläubig.

People come to Jesus and think they are faithful.

Sie denken, sie sind Christen.

They think they are Christians.

Und dann, mitten im Gericht, wenn quasi alles vorbei ist,

And then, right in the middle of the trial, when almost everything is over,

wenn sie nichts mehr an ihrem Schicksal ändern können,

if you can no longer change anything about your fate,

wenn sie ein Leben lang dachten, sie würden mit Gott leben und dann doch feststellen, das ist nicht so,

if they thought their whole lives that they would live with God and then find out that it is not the case,

dann sagt der Herr Jesus zu ihnen, ich habe euch niemals gekannt, weicht von mir, ihr Übeltäter.

Then the Lord Jesus says to them, I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.

Also man kann sich irren in dieser Frage, bin ich Christ oder bin ich nicht Christ.

So one can be mistaken about this question, am I a Christian or am I not a Christian.

Ist Jesus wirklich Herr in meinem Leben oder nicht?

Is Jesus really Lord in my life or not?

Und trotzdem heißt das, es gibt nicht so etwas wie eine loyale Opposition.

And yet, that means there is no such thing as a loyal opposition.

Das gibt es einfach nicht.

That simply doesn't exist.

Wenn du Opposition bist, dann kannst du nicht loyal sein.

If you are in opposition, then you cannot be loyal.

Und das liegt daran, dass unsere Liebe zum König und unser Gehorsam, diese zwei Dinge, Liebe zum König und Gehorsam,

And that is because our love for the king and our obedience, these two things, love for the king and obedience,

gehen in der Bibel immer Hand in Hand.

Go hand in hand in the Bible.

Das hat damit zu tun,

That has to do with,

dass wir als Nachfolger Jesu immer auch Liebhaber Jesu sein müssen.

that we as followers of Jesus must always also be lovers of Jesus.

Und der Liebhaber ist immer der, der das tut, was der Geliebte sich wünscht.

And the lover is always the one who does what the beloved wishes.

Und wenn wir von dem Herrn Jesus reden,

And when we talk about the Lord Jesus,

dann im Johannesevangelium heißt es mal, wenn ihr mich liebt, so werdet ihr meine Gebote halten.

Then in the Gospel of John it says, if you love me, you will keep my commandments.

Also es ist nicht so dieses, jetzt muss ich, nee.

So it's not like this, now I have to, no.

Es ist eigentlich, eigentlich ist es das ganz Normale.

It is actually, actually it is the completely normal thing.

Es ist ganz schräg, wenn jemand sagt, ich liebe dich, aber eigentlich interessierst du mich nicht.

It's quite strange when someone says, I love you, but actually, I'm not interested in you.

Eigentlich möchte ich nicht tun, was du möchtest.

Actually, I don't want to do what you want.

Eigentlich möchte ich dir nicht gefallen.

Actually, I don't want to please you.

Versteht ihr, das ist so ein Widerspruch in sich selber.

Do you understand, that's such a contradiction in itself.

Und noch mehr wird das zu einem Widerspruch, wenn ich das dem Herrn Jesus sage,

And it becomes even more of a contradiction when I say this to Lord Jesus,

der mir ganz klar erklärt, wer mich liebt, wird meine Gebote halten.

who makes it very clear to me that whoever loves me will keep my commandments.

Das ist seine Liebessprache, das gehört bei einem König immer mit dazu.

That's his love language, it's always part of being a king.

Oder an anderer Stelle sagt er,

Or elsewhere he says,

was nennt ihr mich aber Herr, Herr und tut nicht, was ich sage.

Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?

Das ist wie so eine Frage, das geht doch nicht.

That's like one of those questions, that's just not possible.

Entweder bin ich Herr, dann tust du, was ich sage.

Either I am the master, then you do what I say.

Oder du lässt das bitte mich Herr zu nennen und machst dein eigenes Ding.

Or you let me call you sir and do your own thing.

Aber das zusammenzubringen, und das ist so dieser Selbstbetrug,

But bringing that together, and that is such a self-deception,

in dem manche Menschen drinstecken, das geht halt also nicht.

In which some people are stuck, that just doesn't work.

Wenn der Herr Jesus davon spricht, dass ihm alle Macht gegeben wurde,

When the Lord Jesus speaks of all power being given to Him,

dann meint er folgendes.

Then he means the following.

Er meint, Gott besitzt als der Schöpfer

He means that God possesses as the Creator.

alle Autorität und Vollmacht über die Schöpfung.

all authority and power over creation.

Es ist seine Schöpfung.

It is his creation.

Und jetzt kommt Gott, der Vater, zum Sohn,

And now God the Father comes to the Son,

zu diesem auferstandenen, verherrlichten Menschen

to this resurrected, glorified person

und gibt ihm diese unbegrenzte Souveränität

and gives him this unlimited sovereignty

über das Denken und das Tun aller Menschen

about the thinking and actions of all people

und aller Sonstigen.

and all others.

Geschaffenen Wesen in der sichtbaren und in der unsichtbaren Welt.

Created beings in the visible and in the invisible world.

Hammer, oder?

Awesome, right?

Wenn man sich das mal so vor Augen stellt.

When you visualize it like that.

Da ist einer, der hat alle Macht.

There is one who has all the power.

Jeder muss sich dieser Autorität unterwerfen.

Everyone must submit to this authority.

Oder er befindet sich mal mit den Worten von Barack Obama

Or he finds himself, in the words of Barack Obama.

auf der falschen Seite der Geschichte.

on the wrong side of history.

So ist das.

That's how it is.

Das Besondere,

The special thing,

das Besondere an Jesus ist tatsächlich,

the special thing about Jesus is actually,

dass ihm alle Macht gegeben wurde.

that all power was given to him.

Jetzt gibt es in Gottes Welt Hierarchien.

Now there are hierarchies in God's world.

Das ist gar nicht ungewöhnlich.

That's not unusual at all.

Viele Menschen bekommen von Gott,

Many people receive from God,

ob ihnen das klar ist oder nicht,

whether they are aware of it or not,

ein gewisses Maß an Vollmacht.

a certain degree of power of attorney.

Ein Chef hat von Gott Vollmacht, Autorität

A boss has authority, power from God.

über seinen Angestellten bekommen.

obtain about his employee.

So tickt diese Welt.

That's how this world works.

Und dasselbe kann man über Ehemänner sagen,

And the same can be said about husbands,

die das Haupt ihrer Familie sind oder über Älteste,

who are the head of their family or about elders,

die in einer Gemeinde vorstehen oder über Eltern,

those who lead a community or about parents,

die von ihren Kindern Unterordnung erwarten dürfen.

those who may expect obedience from their children.

Das ist völlig okay.

That is completely fine.

Oder Staatsbürger, die sich natürlich

Or citizens who naturally

unter die Gesetze ihres Landes stellen.

place under the laws of their country.

Alles ganz klar.

Everything is very clear.

Es gibt diese in der Welt eingesetzten Hierarchien.

There are these hierarchies employed in the world.

Es gibt ein Oben und Unten.

There is an above and a below.

Da darf mir ein anderer etwas sagen.

Then another person can tell me something.

Eine Partei, die dirigiert und führt

A party that directs and leads

und beschützt und eine andere Partei,

and protects and another party,

die sich unterordnet und unterstützt.

that submits and supports.

Das ist eine moralische Verpflichtung.

That is a moral obligation.

Aber, und das ist eben das Besondere,

But, and this is precisely what is special,

Autorität, die Gott den Menschen gibt,

Authority that God gives to man,

ist im Allgemeinen immer begrenzt.

is generally always limited.

Also wenn ich als Vater meinem Sechsjährigen sage,

So when I, as a father, tell my six-year-old,

hör her, 20 Uhr, Schicht im Schacht, ab ins Bett,

Listen up, 8 PM, shift's over, off to bed.

dann kann ich das meinem Sechsjährigen sagen.

Then I can tell that to my six-year-old.

Aber,

But,

mein Nachbar, der vielleicht auch einen Sechsjährigen hat,

my neighbor, who might also have a six-year-old,

da habe ich nichts zu melden.

I have nothing to say about that.

Das ist sein Kind.

That is his child.

Ich darf mein Kind erziehen, aber eben nicht seines.

I am allowed to raise my child, but not his.

Und ich darf noch nicht einmal mein Kind erziehen, wie ich will.

And I am not even allowed to raise my child the way I want.

Sondern, die Bibel sagt ganz klar,

But the Bible states clearly,

es soll geschehen in der Zucht und Ermahnung des Herrn.

It shall happen in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Das heißt, Gott gibt mir da auch noch einen Rahmen vor,

That means God also gives me a framework there.

wie das zu passieren hat.

how that is supposed to happen.

Es geht eben nicht nach Gutdünken.

It cannot simply be done at one's discretion.

Und deswegen,

And that's why,

wenn ich Autorität bekomme,

when I gain authority,

dann gibt es da ganz klar Grenzen.

Then there are clearly boundaries.

Das gilt auch für weltliche Herrscher.

This applies to secular rulers as well.

Pilatus ist einer, der diese Lektion ziemlich,

Pilatus is one who has learned this lesson quite well,

ich sage es mal, auf die harte Tour lernen muss.

I'll say it like this: you have to learn it the hard way.

Weil Jesus ihm da,

Because Jesus to him there,

da ist diese Verhandlung mit Jesus,

there is this negotiation with Jesus,

und er möchte ihn freigeben, schafft es dann aber nicht.

and he wants to release him, but then he can't do it.

Und mittendrin gibt es dann in Johannes 19, Vers 11,

And in the middle of it all, there is then in John 19, verse 11,

diesen Satz von dem Herrn Jesus,

this sentence from the Lord Jesus,

wo der Angeklagte, der zum Tod verurteilt,

where the defendant, who was sentenced to death,

also halb schon zum Tod verurteilte,

thus half already sentenced to death,

zu seinem Ankläger Folgendes sagt.

says the following to his accuser.

Du hättest keinerlei Macht über mich,

You would have no power over me,

wenn sie dir nicht von oben gegeben wäre.

if it were not given to you from above.

Also du stehst da als Pilatus und denkst,

So you stand there as Pilate and think,

hey, ich bin hier der Chef im Ring.

Hey, I'm the boss in the ring here.

Und der Angeklagte sagt, ja, weißt du was,

And the defendant says, yes, you know what,

nur damit wir uns klar verstehen.

Just so we're clear.

Du hast jetzt Macht.

You have power now.

Du hast die Macht, mich zu verurteilen.

You have the power to judge me.

Stimmt.

That's right.

Aber das ist nur geliehen.

But that is only borrowed.

Das ist nur abgelehnt.

That is just rejected.

Abgeleitet.

Derived.

Die steckt nicht in dir drin,

It's not inside you.

sondern die hat dir jemand gegeben.

but someone gave it to you.

Du hättest keinerlei Macht über mich,

You would have no power over me,

wenn sie dir nicht von oben, also von Gott gegeben wäre.

if it were not given to you from above, that is, from God.

Wenn Gott nicht entschieden hätte,

If God had not decided,

jetzt in diesem Moment dich so zu gebrauchen,

to use you like this in this moment,

glaub mal nicht, dass du heute Morgen

don't think that you this morning

noch lebendig wach geworden wärst.

would have still awoken alive.

Darum hat der, welcher mich dir überliefert,

Therefore, he who delivered me to you

hat größere Sünde.

has greater sin.

Du hast Sünde, aber du hast auch Macht.

You have sin, but you also have power.

Und Paulus wird an anderer Stelle

And Paul will be elsewhere.

ähnlich über dieses Thema Weltlichkeit,

similarly about this topic of worldliness,

herrschaft formulieren.

Formulate domination.

Ich lese uns mal drei Verse aus Römer 13 vor.

I'll read us three verses from Romans 13.

Einfach mal zuhören.

Just listen for once.

Jede Seele unterwerfe sich

Let every soul submit.

den übergeordneten staatlichen Mächten,

the overarching state powers,

denn es ist keine staatliche Macht außer von Gott

for there is no authority except that which God has established

und die Bestehenden sind von Gott verordnet.

and those in power are ordained by God.

Wer sich daher der staatlichen Macht widersetzt,

Those who oppose state power,

widersteht der Anordnung Gottes.

resists the command of God.

Die aber widerstehen, werden ein Urteil empfangen.

But those who resist will receive a judgment.

Denn die Regenten sind nicht ein Schrecken für das gute Werk,

For rulers are not a terror to good conduct,

sondern für das Böse.

but for evil.

Willst du dich aber vor der staatlichen Macht verletzen,

But if you want to hurt yourself in front of the state power,

macht nicht fürchten, so tue das Gute,

do not fear, do good,

so wirst du Lob von ihr haben.

Then you will have praise from her.

Hier wird ganz klar gesagt,

Here it is clearly stated,

die Idee Staat, die Idee Regierung kommt von Gott.

The idea of state, the idea of government comes from God.

Wie gesagt, die Idee.

As I said, the idea.

Das heißt nicht, dass die Regierung in dem, was sie tut,

That doesn't mean that the government in what it does,

es genauso tut, wie Gott es möchte.

it does just as God wants it to.

Aber erst einmal die Idee,

But first the idea,

Hierarchie in einer Gesellschaft ist etwas Positives.

Hierarchy in a society is something positive.

Aber, und mir geht es darum, immer wieder zu betonen,

But, and I want to emphasize this again and again,

keine Regierung hat eine absolute Autorität.

No government has absolute authority.

Absolute Autorität hat tatsächlich nur einer.

Only one has absolute authority.

Und das ist Jesus, der Messias.

And this is Jesus, the Messiah.

Es ist tatsächlich der König der Könige.

It is indeed the King of Kings.

Und das bedeutet, dass jeder König dieser Welt,

And that means that every king of this world,

ob du nach Russland schaust und über Putin nachdenkst

whether you look at Russia and think about Putin

und für ihn betest,

and pray for him,

oder ob du nach China schaust und Xi Jinping,

or if you are looking at China and Xi Jinping,

oder nach Deutschland, Olaf Scholz,

or to Germany, Olaf Scholz,

die stehen alle unter Jesus.

They all stand under Jesus.

Und zwar völlig wurscht, ob ihnen das klar ist oder nicht.

And it doesn't matter at all whether they realize it or not.

Und das ist dann eben auch mal der Grund,

And that is also sometimes the reason,

warum die Apostel,

why the apostles,

wo sie vor dem höchsten Regierungsgremium ihrer Zeit stehen,

where they stand before the highest governing body of their time,

dem sogenannten Hohen Rat,

the so-called High Council,

das war jüdische Regierung ganz oben,

that was Jewish government at the very top,

und an der Stelle kommt der Hohe Rat und sagt,

and at that point the High Council comes and says,

hört mal her, Freunde, ihr hört jetzt auf zu predigen.

Listen up, friends, you can stop preaching now.

Das heißt jetzt mal Schluss.

That means that's it for now.

Oder an anderer Stelle in Johannes 17,

Dies redete Jesus und hob seine Augen auf zum Himmel und sprach,

Jesus said these things, and he lifted his eyes to heaven and said,

Vater, die Stunde ist gekommen,

Father, the hour has come,

verherrliche deinen Sohn, damit der Sohn dich verherrlicht.

Glorify your Son, that the Son may glorify you.

Und jetzt wieder,

Forgiveness of sins,

aber auch mit einer Vollmacht zum Gericht und ewiges Leben zu beschenken.

Überleg dir das.

Du triffst auf einen Menschen, der dir sagt,

Überleg mal,

und du bist so erschrocken von der Realität,

dass dein bester Freund dir erstmal die Hand auflegt

und sagt, fürchte dich nicht.

Was muss da in einem abgehen,

What must be going on in there,

wenn wir das erste Mal den Herrn Jesus sehen?

when we see the Lord Jesus for the first time?

Wir denken uns vielleicht immer so,

We might always think like that,

das ist so ein ganz easy-beasy,

that's just so easy-peasy,

wir gehen da hin und freuen uns

We are going there and are looking forward to it.

und fallen um den Arm und alles ist cool.

and fall around the arm and everything is cool.

Ich glaube überhaupt nicht daran.

I don’t believe in it at all.

Ich glaube, dass wir Jesus begegnen werden

I believe that we will encounter Jesus.

in seiner Herrlichkeit

in his glory

und in seiner Gnade.

and in his grace.

Und ich glaube,

And I believe,

wir werden genau diese Worte hören.

Ihr braucht euch nicht zu fürchten.

You don’t need to be afraid.

Alles ist gut.

Es ist so, wie wenn du an einen Hochofen rangehst.
