Da wollte ich schon lange hin und glücklicherweise auch meine Familie.

Das traf sich gut, weil die Familie mag Städte, ich mag Städte.

Und Kopenhagen als weltbekannte Fahrradstadt, dachte ich mir, muss ich doch mal angucken.

And Copenhagen, as a world-famous cycling city, I thought to myself, I really need to check it out.

Vorab allerdings habe ich festgestellt, dass dort viel Kaffee getrunken wird in Kopenhagen.

Über Skandinavien an sich und dann auch dort vor Ort, dass es überall Kaffee gibt und so.

Ich habe vor ganz vielen Jahren, ich weiß nicht, wie lange ich dieses Buch schon habe, über Michael Pedersen,

den Erfinder des Pedersen-Rades, unter anderem der Milchzentrifuge und was weiß ich was alles erfunden hat und Gangschaltung und alles.

Irgendwo in einem, in einem Reiseführer, glaube ich, oder Wikipedia stand 680.000 Einwohner.

Bei der Stadtrundfahrt im Hop-on-Hop-off-Bus hat er was von 1,2 Millionen Einwohnern erzählt.

Es ist auf jeden Fall ein sehr großer Teil dieses Landes wohnt in Kopenhagen und oder Umgebung.

Zu den Inseln nochmal, wer noch nicht in Kopenhagen war und mal die Chance hat, soll dort unbedingt hingehen, weil es ist wirklich schön,

der Inselstatus hat den Vorteil, dass durch die Stadt Meerwasser läuft.

Und in Kopenhagen, wie viele wissen, hat man sich schon vor 30 Jahren angefangen, sich ein bisschen Mühe zu machen, die Stadt menschenfreundlich zu gestalten.

Und zu dieser Menschenfreundlichkeit gehört es auch, dass man den Zugang zum Wasser hat.

Und das ist so cool.

Du läufst da entlang, da sind überall so Holzstege, also wie im Schwimmbad.

You walk along there, there are wooden walkways everywhere, like in a swimming pool.

Oder so richtig schöne Holzstege und Toiletten sind da.

Or there are really beautiful wooden walkways and toilets.

Und teilweise sind dann so abgegrenzt Schwimmbereiche, weil es fahren ja auch Motorboote und der Hafenbus.

And partly there are areas designated for swimming, because motorboats and the harbor bus also operate there.

So nennt sich das Wassertaxi.

Nicht Wassertaxi, sondern ja, das ist ein gelbes, großes Boot.

Da passen ein Haufen Leute rein und ein paar Fahrräder drauf und Rollstühle und der fährt den ganzen Tag entlang mal ein paar Haltestellen.

A bunch of people can fit in there, along with a few bicycles and wheelchairs, and it goes along the route all day, stopping at a few stations.

Und da steigt man einfach ein in den Bus quasi und fährt ein paar Stationen weiter.

And then you just get on the bus, so to speak, and ride a few stops further.

Aus aktuellem Anlass, wie ist denn die Wasserqualität?

Schmeckt salzig.

Tastes salty.

Möglicherweise hat mehr, ich weiß es nicht, also ich habe jetzt nichts geschluckt, aber beim Schwimmen schmeckt man ja Wasser.

Maybe it has more, I don't know, so I haven't swallowed anything now, but when swimming you can taste water.

Es geht ja an die Lippen und so.

It goes to the lips and so on.

Und es ist trüb, also man kann da nicht tief gucken.

And it is murky, so you can't see deep there.

Und der aktuelle Anlass weiß ich, was du meinst mit den Olympischen Spielen in Paris.

Also du hast auf der Rundfahrt haben die nichts dazu gesagt.

Und es gibt auch so in einem Bereich, wo ich mal war, also weil das war drei Minuten vom Hotel zu Fuß,

da konnte ich morgens in Badehose runterlaufen.

Und da waren aber viele Leute, die danach ins Büro gegangen sind.

Und dann haben sie erzählt, na, bleibst du heute zu Hause?

Also englischsprachige Experts, keine Ahnung, was das alles für Leute sind, die dort arbeiten an der Waterfront.

So English-speaking experts, no idea who all those people are that work there at the waterfront.

Und diese Bereiche, also da weiß ich nicht, ob ich es gerade erzählt habe,

da gibt es auch so kleine Pools drin für Kinder, wo man eben nicht so tief untergehen kann.

Auf der anderen Seite, da gab es einen Bereich, der möglicherweise bewacht ist,

weil da gab es ein großes Holzschiff, wo man runterspringen konnte.

Und was auch cool war, die haben als öffentlichen Spaß Kanupolo für alle.

Und Kanupolo ist ja an sich ein Sport, der, ja,

der nicht uninteressant ist, aber schon ziemlich, ziemlich randsportig.

Ja, da braucht man ein spezielles Boot und man braucht einen ordentlichen Helm mit so einem Schutz und allem drum und dran.

Und die haben das da relativ nonchalant gemacht.

Einfach Sit on top, ein Paddel, die nicht so wehtun und ein größerer, weicher Ball.

dann tut das natürlich auch weh,
