Ich glaube, auch Halo bedeutet dir sehr, sehr viel.

Oh, und ich dachte so, und ich dachte so, ich dachte so, oh, okay, wow.

And and it said, I mean, wir haben das echt vier, fünfmal aufgenommen und das hat irgendwas gefehlt die ganze Zeit.

And it said, I mean, we really recorded that four or five times and something was missing the whole time.

Und dann der letzte, ähm, letzter Tag beim Aufnehmen habe ich Josephine angerufen und gesagt,

Und ähm, und ich, ich liebe es und ich meine, ich, ich rede gerne darüber, aber im Endeffekt will ich, dass jeder das hört.

And, um, and I, I love it and I mean, I, I like to talk about it, but in the end, I want everyone to hear it.

Es hat, es hat eine Botschaft natürlich, wie so das, ähm, für, für jemanden da zu sein, die man liebt, der durch eine harte Zeit zu gehen und einfach diese Stutz, diese Halt gibt.

It has a message, of course, about being there for someone you love who is going through a tough time and just providing that support, that grounding.

Ähm.

Uh.

Und ich glaube, das ist im Moment sehr häufig, dass wir, ich merke es, es ist, das Album ist schon über eine Zeit geschrieben von vier Jahren.

And I believe that it is currently very common that we, I notice it, the album has been written over a period of four years.

Und als ich das dann zusammengestellt am Ende, habe ich gemerkt, dass viele von den Liedern alle die gleiche Botschaft haben.

And when I put it all together in the end, I realized that many of the songs all have the same message.

Und das war irgendwie, wir schaffen das und zusammen und, ähm, und das, das ist so relevant im Moment, irgendwie so ohne geplant zu haben, weil wir durch eine harte Zeit gehen.

And that was somehow, we can make it and together and, um, and that's so relevant at the moment, kind of without having planned it, because we are going through a tough time.

Und, ähm, aber ich finde halt.

And, um, but I just think.

Da gab es immer harte Zeiten und wir haben die auch überstanden und wir würden diese Zeit irgendwie überstehen und wenn wir zusammenhalten, dann ist der Weg auf jeden Fall leichter.

There were always tough times and we got through them, and we would somehow get through this time, and if we stick together, the path will definitely be easier.

Wie du jetzt Halo beschrieben hast, ist mit einer der persönlichsten Lieder von dir, aber wir alle, äh, können uns, äh, unsere eigene Botschaft aus diesem Titel ziehen.

As you just described Halo, it is one of your most personal songs, but we all, uh, can take our own message from this title.

Ich glaube, wenn beim, also beim Songwriting ist es oft, dass man sucht halt die, die ehrliche Wörter, weil das ist, also in, in ehrliche Wörter findest du die Stimme.

I believe that when it comes to songwriting, you often search for honest words, because in honest words you find the voice.

Stimme von jeder und weil, weil wir alle vielleicht das Gleiche sagen wollen und, ähm, ich finde diese Botschaft auch, I'll be there for you, ähm, ich bin für dich da, das, das ist auch irgendwie das, was jeder sagen könnte und, ähm, ich meine, ich bin halt Musiker und Songwriter, das ist, das ist mein Job, das ist mein Passion, das ist das, was ich mache und ich glaube, ich mache das dann nicht, nicht nur für mich, aber für, für jeden, der das sagen will, aber nicht das sagen kann.

The voice of everyone and because, because we all might want to say the same thing and, um, I think this message of "I'll be there for you," um, "I'm there for you," that's also somehow what everyone could say and, um, I mean, I'm a musician and songwriter, that's, that's my job, that's my passion, that's what I do and I believe I'm not doing it just for myself, but for, for everyone who wants to say that but can't say it.

Nicht die richtigen Wörter findet oder, und wenn du das hörst, dann mir geht's genauso als zuhören von anderen Musikern, wenn du einmal hörst einen Text halt, du denkst halt, genau und, ähm, und ich meine, als Songwriter ist das Ziel nicht, das zu schreiben, das Ziel ist einfach, die ehrliche Wörter in dir selber zu finden und die zu schreiben und dann, wenn das vor allem das Richtige ist, dann merkt man auch die Reaktion und, äh, it's, äh, it's happening.

Not finding the right words or, and when you hear that, I feel the same way when listening to other musicians, when you hear a text once, you think, exactly, and, um, and I mean, as a songwriter the goal is not to write that, the goal is simply to find the honest words within yourself and write them down, and then, especially when it's the right thing, you also notice the reaction and, uh, it's, uh, it's happening.

We were backstage and I mean, the one, Michael Patrick, he had kind of a rough day in that spot because his last concert from his boat tour, a huge concert, sold out in Aachen, and then he, um, he was sick somehow but he still came and then, um, he said, hey, I wanna hear this new song.

Und, ähm, und ich meine, du siehst dann.

And, um, and I mean, you see then.

Reaktion und ich war, ich war in den Raum und ich dachte dann, wo gucke ich jetzt hin?

Reaction and I was, I was in the room and then I thought, where do I look now?

I am just being the most honest when I’m honest with you, because I think sometimes, um, you protect yourself because you somehow think that you shouldn’t, um, show that or, um, but with music you shouldn’t have these boundaries, with music you always have to, I mean for me, you just have to be absolutely honest, because that’s, that’s where the real music is.

When it comes to writing a song, I think we're good at it, but I mean, uh, that because I would find it a shame if my children would somehow only live with, uh, playback.

Ich meine, das ist, ich, ich finde, die Aufgabe ein Songwriter ist, was Neues zu schreiben, nicht nur das wiederzugeben, was jemand anderes geschrieben hat.

I mean, that is, I, I think the task of a songwriter is to write something new, not just to reproduce what someone else has written.

Und, äh, da gibt es viele Songwriters, die bei KI, äh, so, die so ähnlich sind wie KI, wenn du mich fragst, aber die, die Besten, die ich liebe und die, die den meisten Erfolg haben, sind die, die wirklich was Neues erfinden.

And, um, there are many songwriters who are like AI, um, they are similar to AI, if you ask me, but the best ones that I love and that have the most success are the ones who really invent something new.

Und dann hab ich gesagt, hab ich gerade Halo gesungen?

Und der war halt, ja, du hast Halo gesungen.

And that was just, yeah, you sang Halo.

Und dann waren wir halt so beschäftigt, dürfen wir das singen?

And then we were just so busy, are we allowed to sing that?

Ist das, kann ich singen?

Is that, can I sing?

Und dann hab ich natürlich, als ich den Text hatte, dann, ähm,

And then, of course, when I had the text, then, um,

geschrieben haben, dann hab ich mich damit beschäftigt.

I wrote it down, then I dealt with it.

Und ich fand es super spannend, weil natürlich die deutsche Übersetzung ist, äh, Heiligschein.

Ähm, und würde ich nie irgendwie so versuchen, halt, damit zu spielen.

Und ich bin der Meinung, damals, als zum Beispiel Maler in den 300, ja, 300 oder wie auf immer, angefangen haben zu malen.

And I believe that back then, when, for example, painters started painting in the 300s, yes, 300 or however long, they began to paint.

Und dann haben die nicht, äh, ich glaube nicht, dass jemand reinkam mit einem, einem Halo über dem Kopf oder so Heiligschein über dem Kopf.

Well, you're not shining like that, and, um, that was sort of this halo, but the message is, I'm also here to maintain that and, and, and to ensure that you can shine, and, um, I actually believe that, um, that was my understanding of the halo, and I'm truly falling in love with this meaning because I see people a little differently now.
