Bei uns einmal als erstes HTC kann das sein, also Nokia gibt es ja bei uns noch nicht, soweit ich weiß.

So habe ich viele Tweets gelesen, die haben ein Snowmageddon erwartet.

So I read many tweets that were expecting a snowmageddon.

Was ist los?

What's going on?

Ich sage gar nichts, da hörst du heraußen, was da passiert ja nichts auf die Art.

I'm not saying anything at all, so you hear out there that nothing like that is happening.

Und das ist, wie gesagt, auch eben eine Wortkreation, die ich so gerne benutze.

And that is, as I said, also a word creation that I really like to use.

Das wird Snowmageddon oder Snowpocalypse von Armageddon und Apokalypse.

This will be Snowmageddon or Snowpocalypse, derived from Armageddon and Apocalypse.

Aber das ist beim Amerikaner ja auch schon, wenn nur zwei Zentimeter Schnee auf der Straße liegen bleibt.

But that's already the case with Americans when just two centimeters of snow is left on the road.

Der gemeine Amerikaner kann ja nicht im Schnee fahren, der tut sich schon im Regen relativ schwer.

The average American can’t drive in the snow; they already struggle relatively in the rain.

Wenn es ein bisschen rutschig wird, dann können nur mehr die 10% fahren, die irgendwo in Amerika,

da haben sie sich selber beigebracht, wirklich Autofahren gelernt haben.

Nicht nur mit Automatik auf Straßen, wo eigentlich fünf Autos bei uns hinpassen würden.

Bei uns war das eine dreispurige Straße, in Amerika ist eine zweispurige Straße,

da kann man natürlich leicht fahren und deswegen fahren die Leute dort ja auch schon mit 16 um und um.

Ist ja alles so weitläufig in Amerika, da kommst du ja nicht einmal zum Supermarkt ohne einem Auto,

Everything is so spread out in America that you can't even get to the supermarket without a car.

deswegen dürfen dort die Kinder auch schon fahren.

Aber durch dieses System, wie gesagt, und dadurch, dass es relativ nicht so oft schneit irgendwie,

und da können die Leute dann im Schnee nicht wirklich fahren.

and there the people really can't drive in the snow.

Es gibt auch keine Schneereifenpflicht, soweit ich weiß.

Und auch nicht, ich weiß nicht, ob die das haben oder kaufen.

Höhlen oder irgendwie, es ist halt unlustig, auch bei ein paar Zentimetern liegenbleibendem Schnee,

Früher haben die Leute alle diese riesigen Geländewagen mehr oder weniger fast gefahren,

auch das ganze Jahr über auf der normalen Straße.

Amerikanische, so ein richtiges amerikanisches Pickup,

wenn du den bei uns auf der Straße siehst, glaubst du ja, das ist auch ein Bus.

When you see it on our street, you might think it's a bus too.

Da geht ja dein normales Pkw-Fahrzeug auf die Laderampe hinten drauf

Your normal passenger vehicle will go onto the loading ramp at the back.

und das hat wahrscheinlich, weiß ich nicht, ein paar Tonnen.

and that probably, I don't know, weighs a few tons.

Das druckt den Schnee halt wahrscheinlich besser nieder, da kann man vielleicht noch ein bisschen besser fahren.

That probably packs the snow down better, so you might be able to drive a little better.

Jetzt ist ja in Amerika auch der Benzin etwas teurer geworden,

Now gas has also become a bit more expensive in America.

immer noch weit nicht so teuer wie bei uns, wenn ich richtig rechne.

Aber das trotzdem hat die Leute dazu veranlasst, sich eher von diesen riesigen,

riesigen Autos zu verabschieden.

to bid farewell to giant cars.

Jetzt ist ja auch Öko ein bisschen modern und Elektro auch schon wieder was,

Ich meine, vielleicht eher auf der Westküste als auf der Ostküste.

Also vielleicht haben sie auf der Ostküste eh noch tendenziell größere Autos,

wie gesagt, als auf der Hightech-Westküste, wo ein halbes Hybrid oder ein komplettes Elektroauto

jetzt auch nichts ist, wo man sich mehr, wie gesagt, genieren müsste in Amerika.

Aber im Prinzip, es fährt ja eh keiner.

Also die Leute wissen ja, dass sie es nicht fahren können.

Und wenn da mal wirklich normal Schnee fällt, so wie bei uns einmal normal Schnee fällt,

also 20 Zentimeter Neuschnee oder so, da ist ja alles zu.

So, 20 centimeters of fresh snow or so, everything is closed.

Das steht alles.

Die Leute kommen nicht in die Arbeit, die Leute kommen nicht in die Schule,

People are not going to work, people are not going to school,

da ist einfach, da ist man eingeschneit.

It's just that you're snowed in.

Da ist dann irgendwo dann verständlich, mit dem, was wir jetzt alles gesprochen haben,

dass sie in Amerika immer gleich von einem Bliss sprechen, wenn ein bisschen Schnee geht

that they always talk about a bliss in America when a little snow falls.

Also in Amerika ist ein Blissert wahrscheinlich, wenn, wie gesagt, ein paar Zentimeter Neuschnee liegen bleiben

In America, a blizzard is likely if, as mentioned, a few centimeters of fresh snow remain.

und relativ gemütlich die mittelgroßen Schneeflocken vom Himmel fallen, ist das schon ein Blissert.

Bei uns wäre ein Blissert so ein richtiger, echter Schneesturm, weiß ich nicht,

Das wäre bei uns ein echter Blissert.

Aber wie gesagt, in Amerika...

In Amerika sind halt die Verhältnisse diesbezüglich anders.

In America, the circumstances regarding this are different.

Wenn wir schon bei großen Dingen in Amerika sind, es war natürlich auch die Wahl jetzt die letzte Woche.

Since we're already on the topic of big things in America, there was of course the election last week as well.

Es sind wahrscheinlich bis ihr das hört, es sind noch nicht die letzten Stimmen auszählt worden,

It is probably until you hear this, the last votes have not yet been counted.

aber die können das ja schon ab auf ein paar Prozent.

but they can already do that at a few percent.

Das ist ja ein ganz seltsames System in Amerika mit zwei Parteien.

That's quite a strange system in America with two parties.

Es gibt zwar unabhängige Parteien, die auch Kandidaten stellen dürfen,

There are indeed independent parties that are also allowed to put forward candidates,

die kriegen aber nie mehr als 1 bis 5 Prozent im Endeffekt.

They never get more than 1 to 5 percent in the end.

Und deswegen meinen die meisten, es wird Verschwendung sein, wenn man für die wählt.

And that’s why most people think it would be a waste to vote for them.

Und deswegen wollen sie entweder gar nicht, wenn es für niemanden von die zwei großen Parteien sind,

And that's why they either don't want to at all, if it's not for either of the two major parties,

oder sie wählen für das kleinere Übel.

or they choose the lesser evil.

Ist alles seltsam.

Everything is strange.

Was noch seltsamer ist, es gibt Staaten, die sind immer von einer Partei oder immer von der anderen Partei dominiert.

What is even stranger is that there are states that are always dominated by one party or always by the other party.

Und da ist es dann im Prinzip wurscht, was man will, weil man das Ergebnis sowieso nicht ändern kann.

And in principle, it doesn't matter what you want, because you can't change the outcome anyway.

Und dann gibt es diese Swing States, wie die die nennen.

And then there are these swing states, as they call them.

Staaten, die einmal vor vier Jahren so gewählt haben und dann einmal so.

States that voted like this four years ago and then like that.

Und das sind eigentlich die wichtigsten.

And those are actually the most important.

Dort macht man den meisten Wahlkampf, weil überall anders kann man eh nichts beeinflussen.

That is where most of the election campaign takes place, because everywhere else you can't really influence anything.

Und dann hängt das eigentlich von ein paar Staaten ab.

And then it actually depends on a few states.

Und deswegen können die mehr oder weniger schon noch 2, 3 Prozent von den ausgezählten Stimmen sagen, wer Präsident wird.

And that's why they can still more or less say who will be president with the 2 or 3 percent of the counted votes.

Weil das, wie gesagt, da relativ einfach ist.

Because that, as mentioned, is relatively simple there.

Es gilt ja nicht das Komplette, deswegen auch.

It doesn't apply to the complete thing, that's why.

Das ist das Popular Vote, nennen die das.

That's what they call the Popular Vote.

Das heißt, das Volkvote mehr oder weniger.

That means the people's vote more or less.

Wenn man alle Stimmen zusammenzählt, so wie man bei uns wählen würde,

If you count all the votes together, just as you would in our elections,

wenn man alle Stimmen einfach zusammenzählt, die es im ganzen Land gibt,

when you simply add up all the votes that exist in the whole country,

kann es leicht sein, dass einer relativ viel mehr Stimmen,

it can easily happen that one receives relatively many more votes,

hat als der andere, aber trotzdem verliert.

has as the other, but still loses.

Weil das irgendwie zusammengerechnet worden ist aus Bundesstaaten,

Because that has somehow been calculated together from federal states,

die nicht so viele Wahlmänner haben, die nicht so viel schicken können.

Das ist nur aus der Zeit, so aus dem Wilden Westen,

That's just from the time, like from the Wild West.

weiß ich nicht, wo die Leute noch Wochen oder Monate gebraucht haben,

I don't know where people took weeks or months.

von einer Küste zur anderen.

Und ein Brief, auch wie gesagt, nicht auf Mausklick angekommen ist,

als auf der anderen Seite.

Da haben die Leute eben im Bundesstaat gewählt und dann Leute auf dem Pferd nach Washington,

So the people voted in the state and then sent people on horseback to Washington,

die sie reiten lassen und die haben dann eben verkündet,

that they let them ride and then they announced,

Leute, also so oder so, die haben nicht gesagt,

People, either way, they didn't say it,

wir haben 100.725,3 Leute, die so gewählt haben,

we have 100,725.3 people who voted like this,

die haben einfach gesagt, und der Staat hat so gewählt.

They simply said, and the state chose that way.

Und wir sind jetzt so fünf da, also wir zählen fünf, wurscht.

And there are five of us now, so we count five, whatever.

Also die anderen, die anders gewählt haben, fallen dann komplett weg aus dem Staat.

So the others who voted differently are then completely excluded from the state.

Das ist halt, wie gesagt, ein relativ seltsames System.

That's just, as mentioned, a relatively strange system.

Das nur, weil wir bei großen Ereignissen waren und auch den Sturm genannt haben.

das heißt, da können viele große Staaten was wählen.

Auf der Karte schaut es dann farblich sehr dominant für die eine Farbe aus.

On the map, one color then appears very dominant.

In Wirklichkeit zählt das fast nichts, weil da fast keiner daheim ist.

In reality, it hardly matters because almost no one is at home.

Ja, viele Seltsamitäten, äh, Seltsamitäten, Seltsamkeiten,

Yes, many oddities, uh, oddities, peculiarities,

viel Seltsames, kann man sagen, wenn man so ein bisschen verfolgt, wie die dort herumwählen.

A lot of strange things, one can say, if one follows a bit how they are voting there.

Was ist sonst noch passiert in der Welt der lustigen Technik?

Vor zwei Jahren jetzt schon, 2010, glaube ich, ungefähr, ähm, eh ungefähr, ja, um die Zeit,

hat Microsoft ein Feature eingeführt für die Xbox,

Has Microsoft introduced a feature for the Xbox,

dass man einen normalen, handelsüblichen USB-Stick anstecken kann

und den als Stich, den man dann anstecken kann,

and the one that can be attached as a pin,

als Speicher für die Xbox, für Spielstände, für Profile, für was auch immer,

as storage for the Xbox, for game saves, for profiles, for whatever,

dann gelotete Inhalte und so weiter, benutzen kann.

Damals ist festgelegt worden, wahrscheinlich, damit es nicht zu sehr mit den eigenen Festplatten konkurriert,

Back then it was determined, probably so that it wouldn't compete too much with its own hard drives,

dass, auch wenn der USB-Stick 64 GB hat, jetzt sagen wir,

that, even if the USB stick has 64 GB, let's say now,

immer nur 16 GB für die Xbox formatiert werden können

und der Rest wird für einen normalen Computer formatiert,

der kann man, also wie gesagt, dann für beides verwenden,

Weil meine allererste Xbox 360 hatte eine Festplatte mit 20 GB.

Also 16 GB ist ja schon fast so groß, wie damals die ganze Festplatte war.

Well, 16 GB is almost as large as the entire hard drive was back then.

Jetzt haben sie das Limit verdoppelt, leise und ohne groß.

Now they have doubled the limit, quietly and without much fanfare.

Irgendwas anzukündigen, kann man jetzt eben auf USB-Sticks statt bisher maximal 16 GB

To announce something, you can now use USB sticks instead of the previous maximum of 16 GB.

jetzt maximal 32 GB einstellen, wie gesagt, auch auf einem 64 GB Stick

now set a maximum of 32 GB, as mentioned, also on a 64 GB stick

und jetzt 32 GB auf dem USB-Stick als Xbox-Speicher nutzen.

and now use 32 GB on the USB stick as Xbox storage.

Ist, wie gesagt, jetzt schon relativ viel mehr als die erste Festplatte,

die ich gehabt habe auf der Xbox 360.

Oft kann man zwar nicht direkt diesen zweiten Speicher als Download-Ort jetzt zum Beispiel auswählen

für was auch immer, aber man kann doch dann bis jetzt immer noch

in die Festplatte gehen.

in die Settings gehen und dann auf den Menüpunkt Speicher und von dort die gewünschten Inhalte

Go to settings and then to the menu item Storage and from there the desired content.

einfach verschieben auf den USB-Stick.

Simply move it to the USB stick.

Ist auf jeden Fall was Nützliches, was man sich im Hinterkopf behalten könnte, sollte,

It's definitely something useful that one could or should keep in mind.

wenn man eben auf der Xbox 360 mit Speicherproblemen oder auch nur mit Sortierungsgeschichten herumtut,

if you are just dealing with storage issues or sorting matters on the Xbox 360,

dass man nicht vergisst, dass das eben eine Option ist, die jetzt sich im Speicher sogar verdoppelt hat.

that one does not forget that this is indeed an option that has even doubled in memory now.

Ich weiß gar nicht, diese Slim-Xboxen haben immer noch zwei Ports, weil die normalen Xboxen

I don't even know, these Slim Xboxes still have two ports because the regular Xboxes...

hatten ja immer zwei USB-Ports, da hatte man ja im Prinzip zweimal 60 GB anstecken können

We always had two USB ports, so you could essentially connect 120 GB.

und jetzt könnte man zweimal 32, das wäre dann schon 64, das ist dann schon fast so groß wie meine zweite Festplatte.

And now you could have two times 32, that would be 64, that is already almost as big as my second hard drive.

Die zweite, das war ein Update, das hat man sich extra gekauft, glaube ich, und die war von 20 auf 120 GB die Festplatte für die Xbox.

The second one was an update that you had to buy separately, I believe, and it increased the Xbox hard drive from 20 to 120 GB.

Also ich habe jetzt immer noch, die helfen mir halt nichts mehr für diese kleinen Slim-Xboxen,

Well, I still have them, but they don't help me anymore for these small Slim Xboxes.

gehen die da nicht rein, das ist ein anderes Format und sind ganz woanders drin, unten statt oben und überhaupt.

They don't go in there, that's a different format and they're in a completely different place, at the bottom instead of the top and so on.

Aber ich habe jetzt eine 20, eine 120 und eine 250 GB, glaube ich, ist die aktuelle.

But I currently have a 20, a 120, and a 250 GB, I believe that's the current one.

Bei mir sind hauptsächlich die Spiele drauf, weil, wie gesagt, das habe ich schon erzählt,

ich mag nicht, wenn die DVD ständig läuft, erstens ist es unglaublich laut, wenn man daneben sitzt und zweitens ist das Spiel langsamer
