Wir haben zusammen mit Nikolaus Seemarkt den Pandemia-Podcast gemacht und wir sprechen heute zu allen Hörern von allen Super-Elektrik-Formaten,

We produced the Pandemia podcast together with Nikolaus Seemarkt, and today we are speaking to all listeners of all Super Electric formats.

We have the incredible, sad news that many of you may have already heard.

dass unser Freund und Kollege Nikolaus Seemarkt am 25. April an den Folgen eines Schlaganfalls verstorben ist.

that our friend and colleague Nikolaus Seemarkt passed away on April 25 due to the effects of a stroke.

Ja, das ist jetzt etwas mehr als einen Monat her. Ihr könnt euch vorstellen, wir sind da noch mittendrin, das überhaupt zu verarbeiten.

Yes, that was a little more than a month ago. You can imagine, we are still right in the middle of processing it.

Nikolaus war in allererster Linie ein wahnsinnig guter Freund für uns.

Nikolaus was primarily an incredibly good friend to us.

In meinem Fall, ich habe ihn natürlich über die Arbeit an diesem Podcast kennengelernt, aber wir sind natürlich in den drei Jahren einfach sehr, sehr gute Freunde geworden.

In my case, I naturally got to know him through working on this podcast, but of course we have simply become very, very good friends over the three years.

Und wir haben auch gar nicht vor, heute wahnsinnig viel jetzt zu erzählen. Es ist noch ein bisschen zu früh dafür für uns.

And we don't plan to tell a lot today either. It's still a bit too early for us.

Wir haben aber das Gefühl, dass wir euch jetzt einmal ein paar Informationen geben müssen, auch darüber, wo es vielleicht weitergeht oder auch nicht weitergeht.

Nikolaus hat ja im Grunde genommen gerade neu gestartet mit Super Electric.

Nikolaus has basically just restarted with Super Electric.

Also er hatte sich ja aus der Firma 4000 Hertz gelöst und hatte jetzt auch neue Projekte angefangen bei Super Electric.

So he had detached himself from the company 4000 Hertz and had now also started new projects at Super Electric.

Das heißt, das ist auch etwas wahnsinnig Trauriges, ehrlicherweise, dass da er gerade wirklich am Anfang stand mit diesem tollen Projekt und total gespannt war darauf und total Lust hatte darauf.

That means, it is also something incredibly sad, to be honest, that he was really just at the beginning of this great project and was very excited about it and really looking forward to it.

Wir haben mit den anderen gesprochen, die da beteiligt waren.

Ich glaube, er würde sich es noch gerne offen lassen, ob und wann er weitermacht.

dass alle sein Wissen, all seine Erfahrungen mit Podcasts, die der Kai und ich wirklich nicht haben.

Aber wir haben dann länger darüber nachgedacht und haben auch viel Zuspruch gekriegt von Freunden, von Kollegen.

Und irgendwie haben wir auch das Gefühl, wir sind es dem Niki irgendwie schuldig.

And somehow we also feel that we owe it to Niki.

Weiterzumachen, gerade weil er in den letzten Monaten so viel Energie und Liebe und Hingebung in dieses neue Projekt Superdectric reingesteckt hat.

To continue, especially because he has put so much energy, love, and dedication into this new project, Superdectric, in the last few months.

Und vielleicht ist es auch für uns ein Weg, seinen Tod zu verarbeiten.

And maybe it is also a way for us to process his death.

Und wir werden einfach versuchen, mit Pandemia weiterzumachen.

And we will simply try to continue with Pandemia.

Wir können nichts versprechen.

We can't promise anything.

Wir wissen auch noch nicht, in welcher Form.

We still don't know in what form.

Und natürlich kann man ihn nicht ersetzen.

And of course, he cannot be replaced.

Aber vielleicht habt ihr Geduld.

Und das ist auch das, was für Laura und mich, glaube ich, ein Unterschied ist zu dem, was wir sonst gemacht haben in der Vergangenheit.

Und ein Gedanke ist, dass wir einfach in ein oder zwei Monaten wirklich nochmal einen Zoom-Call machen.

And one thought is that we could really have another Zoom call in a month or two.

Wir haben ja schon ein paar Mal Zoom-Calls gemacht mit euch.

Und da auch.

Wirklich einfach mal diskutieren.

Wir haben natürlich untereinander diskutiert, was für uns irgendwie Pandemia jetzt ausgemacht hat.

We of course discussed among ourselves what Pandemia has meant for us in some way.

Was ist der Kern davon, der irgendwie unabhängig von unseren Persönlichkeiten da bleibt.

What is the core of it that somehow remains independent of our personalities?

Und es ist natürlich die Möglichkeit, wirklich ausführlich in die Grauthöhne dieser Geschichten einzusteigen.

And it is of course the opportunity to really delve deeply into the nuances of these stories.

Also in der Welt der Infektionskrankheiten, aber auch der Wissenschaft insgesamt und dieser Komplexität.

So in the world of infectious diseases, but also in science as a whole and this complexity.

Und einfach diesen Raum zu haben, den man in den Medien heute nicht häufig hat.

And just having this space that you don't often see in the media today.

Wirklich.

Really.

Nuancen irgendwie zur Geltung kommen zu lassen.

Und das auf die eine oder andere Art und Weise würden wir das auch für uns gerne weitermachen, würde ich jetzt einfach mal sagen, Laura.
