Da gab es in Beemsen an einem Abend einen Poetry-Slam auf Platt.

There was a poetry slam in Beemsen one evening in Low German.

Acht Teilnehmer mit jüngeren Geschichten und Gedichten auf Platt.

Eight participants with younger stories and poems in Low German.

Sie schreiben und sie vortragen.

They write and they present.

Und das Publikum hat mit ihnen Applaus gemacht.

And the audience applauded them.

Keiner kommt enger hin und keiner fliegt glücksrot.

No one gets closer and no one flies lucky red.

So ein Wettstreit dauert man immer wieder zwei Stunden.

Such a competition lasts for two hours every time.

So viel Zeit habe ich von Abend nicht.

I don't have that much time in the evening.

Und darum habe ich noch mal ein paar von den Fürthrichs zu Haupt gestellt,

Die Poetry-Slam auf Platt in Bad Beemsen

The poetry slam in Low German in Bad Beemsen

wäre eine große Bandbreite, sage ich mal.

Das gäbe ernsthaftige Texte und welche Ton-Smoostern.

That would create serious texts and some tonal smoothness.

Und mit den Smoostern fangen wir von Anfang an an.

Und das ist doch wie Rutsch-Sort.

La Boe ist kein spanischer Germanismus für einen Stiefel Bries,

sondern ein Spanisch-Germanismus,

but a Spanish-Germanism,

ein Küstenort.

a coastal town.

Unfällig.

Unfortunate.

Ja, da tut man manchmal beten mit La Boe, ne?

Aber nun geht's los.

Wenn ihr in der Seeforte seid, müsst ihr zwei Dinge beachten.

When you are in the seaside, you need to keep two things in mind.

Erstens, das Mutti ist der wichtigste Mann an Bord

Mit diesen ollen Hunden ist es nicht zu spüren,

Ich habe mal von einem gehört,

unter Luft gerieben und sagt,

Der Möw hat traurig genickt.

The seagull nodded sadly.

Hat geklappt, brücke kein Handy, der Kerl, völlig aufdreht.

Wie so ein Lüde soll er in jemals einen Abstand inholen.

Früher konnten Seemänner

So kommt in der heutigen Welt nicht mehr recht.

So it doesn't really work in today's world anymore.

Alles wird in überwachten Containern

Everything will be in monitored containers.

in und ut lot, kein Tiet für nix.

Darum ist die Reeperbahn auch bloß noch Hotelmeile

und die ollen Seelüde sind Touristenführer

Aber Seemänner schmülken ja auch vor allen Dingen.

Irgendwie ein Abschmülken.

Und wenn das Zigarettengift

dann richtig ist,

Dann würde ich viertes Jahr kottern

und müsste nächstes Jahr schrubben.

Eine Dauerarbeit ohne was zu leisten.

A permanent job without achieving anything.

So ein als mich kann auf See keinen einen buchen.

Someone like me can't be booked at sea.

Ich bin nämlich an der Schlie, obwussten.

Mit Ostseefjord war da wahrhaft,

With the Baltic Sea fjord, it was truly,

wie sich das skandinavisch attraktiv anhört.

In dem Schiffbetrieb sehe ich das so gut.

Im Norden spütteln die Leute auf den Strot.

Hier brauchst du Sea-Credibility.

Und als ich dann mal wieder in La Boe wäre,

hätte ich mich darauf besinnt,

if I had reflected on that,

wo hat ein Seemann Wehmut und wo das Aallüt Wiesen.

Ich versuche, einen Möw unter Luft zu kriegen.

Ich rät er den Schwanzfällerhut.

I recommend the lumberjack hat.

Sie hacken mich in die Augen,

They are hacking into my eyes,

können sich befrieden und schäden mich auf den Kopf.

They can make peace and harm me on the head.

Der Möw wäre ein Lachmöw.

The gull would be a laughing gull.

Sie lachen, ich wehne.

They laugh, I weep.

Ich bin waschlappen.

I am a washcloth.

Ein paar Touristen

steigen auf den Lachanfall von dem Möw mit innen

Climbing onto the laughter fit from the seagull inside.

und schmähten mich mit Matjesbrötchen ab,

and insulted me with herring rolls,

um die Show voranzutrieben.

Ein Seemann stecke sich sein Zigarett mit dem Kerz an

und ich schmäht mich in den Ostsee.

Doch wie diese Mischung und Pläsier und Poesie, da ist Bämsen dort wegen ein Bund als nie.

But as this mixture of pleasure and poetry, there is a bond there like never before.

Schrievers und Schaumesters, o Lü und Jung, gibt Bämsen wieder mal bannig viel Schwung.

Scribes and foam masters, oh Lü and Jung, give Bämsen once again a tremendous amount of momentum.

Viel gattert im Sprach, der Gedanken sind frei und wie die Diskussion gibt auch mal Kabelei.

A lot is stammered in language, the thoughts are free, and just like the discussion, there can also be some nonsense.

Mein Bämsen blieb bunt mit Wörtern und Poesie und der Lü sind zufrieden mit der Plädigerie.

My banging remained colorful with words and poetry, and the Lü are satisfied with the pleading.

Nur habt ihr Planers von der Tagung, ganz wisst nicht an, wie sie mehr planen,

Und jechenswo ob der Welt, da lebt Lü in einem Zelt und der Erd dreit so dull

Der Erd ist voll von dem Hunger und der Not, von dem Kämpfen und dem Tod,

Sie fällt rot unter der Heimat, rot unter der Land.

She falls red under the homeland, red under the land.

Und der Flüchtler, der Täter, der All, bleibt am Strand.

And the refugee, the perpetrator, the All, remains on the beach.

Und da ist er nur anlangt und er kickt sich um.

So hat Mann Lü und Frau Lü und Jung Kiel slept da rum und der Reis geht wieder und ihm ist all bang.

Und da gibt auch wohl ein Krieg.

Die Lü sind nicht all reik, man wat hier Armut heit,

dat het nix to dau mit Hunger und Schwed für Angst, dat de nächste Bom den Hus treppt

That has nothing to do with hunger and fear of the Swedes, that the next bomb is going to hit the house.

oder dat Fanatiker denne Süste verschleppt.

Man, to Freyn sind se ook nich, de Lü, der hier wohnt.

Fähle hebt Angst, dat sich Ahns nicht mehr lohnt,

"Failure raises fear that it is no longer worth trying."

wenn to viele Fremde hier ankommen dau't

When too many strangers arrive here, it lasts.

und vielleicht mehr wult, als blut'n Stück Brot.

and perhaps more courage than a piece of bread.

Do kannst gaut leven, het se to Hus allsecht.

You can live well, it all stays at home.

Man lütt Bixen schied am Markt,

One little girl was standing at the market,

dat löbt nich so recht.

that doesn't quite work.

Wo oft kriecht he mit, gaut doch trüch in dine Heimat.

Where often he creeps, yet still lingers in your homeland.

Nee, denkt he denn, do het wieso Angst hat,

No, does he think that I am afraid of him?

nich all, die nu hier sind, man, wat kann ik do für?

Not everyone who is here, man, what can I do for?

Min Mutti het secht, nu gaut de deur,

My mom said, now the door is opening,

en bäddere Taukunft, das ist, wat vi söcht.

A better future, that's what we seek.

En Perspektive usse Kinder, dat ist, wat vi möcht.

A perspective from the children, that's what we want.

Se het nich damit räkend, dat in dat Anpriesen Land

Do not expect that in that promised land

so manch ein is oprecht und butenrand und band.

Many a one is sincere and open-minded and connected.

Wo kommt de all her? Wo kun dat passern?

Where do you all come from? Where can that happen?

De könnt usse sprag nich, helft anern man nähren.

You can't speak our language, help others instead.

Und so manch ein Flüchtling, dat is ja wat,

And many a refugee, well, that's something,

der is nich blut' annes, nee, der is auch noch s'wat.

That's not just blood, no, there's also something else.

Fehl ward diskutiert, de Gedanken sünd frei.

Mistakes were discussed, the thoughts are free.

Man mittel wiehlgift dat mehr, als blut' Kabelei.

Bämsen blif bunt, und dat Motto is schön.

Wenn ich eine Bude lobe, das ist als ein Rob, ein Rob von Gott, der hält mich gesund, der grüßt mich und war nie nicht rund.
