Am 3. April 1971 schrieb der heute fast 94-jährige Wilfried Hilker Geschichte.

On April 3, 1971, the now nearly 94-year-old Wilfried Hilker made history.

Als erster Schiedsrichter, der in der Fußball-Bundesliga die rote Karte zog.

As the first referee to show a red card in the Bundesliga.

In der Partie Eintracht Frankfurt gegen Eintracht Braunschweig schickte er damit den Fußball-Nationalspieler Friedl Lutz von der Frankfurter Eintracht vom Platz.

Der 1930 geborene studierte Ingenieur wurde er widerwillig Schiedsrichter.

Ich erinnere mich, ich gehe aufs Stadion, ein Pfeif kommt, wie mein Name durchkam.

In Griechenland ein Spiel, was ganz schlimm war.

Wurde ich von der UEFA dorthin geschickt.

Ich kam in Athen an, am Freitagabend.

I arrived in Athens on Friday evening.

Der Obmann von Griechenland, Stavros, hat mich empfangen im Hotel.

The chairman of Greece, Stavros, welcomed me at the hotel.

Wir haben zusammen gesprochen.

We spoke together.

Er sagte, ja, Sie müssen morgen in Drama das entscheidende Spiel um den Abstieg pfeifen.

Ich habe die ganze Nacht nicht geschlafen.

Und dann bin ich vom ersten Moment, wenn ich auf dem Platz war,

Als ich 47 Jahre alt wurde.
