Und da ist ja das offensichtliche Problem, die Länder rufen diese Mittel nur zögerlich ab.

Dabei war mal die Idee, ja den Ländern in der Krise, in der Corona-Pandemie schnell zu helfen, dass die Wirtschaft wieder in Fahrt kommt.

Warum klappt das nicht mit dem Fonds?

Why isn't it working with the fund?

Ja, es ist manchmal so ein bisschen nach dem Motto, gut gemeint, aber dann doch irgendwie schlecht gemacht.

Es war natürlich aus dieser Situation heraus, oh Gott, Corona, wie kann man den Ländern helfen?

Jetzt kann man sich vorstellen, was würden wir heute sagen, sind wirklich noch wirtschaftliche Corona-Folgen.

Und das Zweite ist, man wollte dann eben auch noch, dass man das verbindet, dass man sagt,

Und manche Projekte, die eben angefangen wurden, sind dann auch wieder beendet worden, weil sie zu teuer wurden.

Und das muss man auch noch mal sagen, das Geld, das aber bis dahin schon in diese Projekte investiert wurde, ist dann einfach weg.

Gut gemeint, aber am Ende schon wirklich, muss man sagen, in vielen Fällen eine ganz schöne Geldverschwendung.

Andere machen es sich aber auch ganz einfach.

Die scheint ja relativ großzügig diese Corona-Milliarden in ihrem Land zu verteilen.

Also damit wird dann auf Sportplätzen Kunstrasen gelegt oder es soll in der Toskana ein Golfplatz saniert werden.

oh Gott, also man erinnert sich noch an die Bilder aus Bergamo, dieses Land ist besonders betroffen und ja, hat jetzt wirklich Schwierigkeiten, diese 200 Milliarden irgendwie auszugeben.

Was muss man sagen, natürlich schon als europäische Steuerzahlerin einem eigentlich schon ein bisschen den Magen umdreht.

Also so kann man eigentlich auch mit Geld der Bürger und Bürgerinnen eigentlich nicht umgehen.

Und ja, da ist auch noch nicht alles abgerufen, also da sind jetzt 77 Milliarden, haben die Italiener jetzt irgendwie da untergebracht.

Aber ja, es ist wirklich aus meiner Sicht schon ein ziemliches Desaster und das Ganze läuft jetzt bis 2026, wenn bis dahin das Geld dann nicht abgerufen ist, dann wird der Fonds auch geschlossen.

Der Rechnungshof sagt ja, es müsste Möglichkeiten geben, dass wenn man jetzt ein Projekt hat, dass man sieht, dass das kein Erfolg hat, dass das Geld dann wieder zurückfließt.

Das ist derzeit eben nicht der Fall, das Geld ist dann einfach weg.

Das wäre sicher noch mal eine Maßnahme und ich denke auch, bevor man jetzt einfach irgendwie Geld ausgibt, ja, was vielleicht gar nicht eine sinnvolle Maßnahme ist, wäre es dann vielleicht auch sinnvoller,

sagen, okay, wir machen jetzt mal einen Punkt, schließen das, die Zuschüsse, die Kredite, Teil ist ja Kredite, die vergeben wir nicht und ja, überlegen uns dann neue Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten.

Wenn man jetzt noch mal aufs große Ganze schaut, es wird ja jetzt sicherlich einige Kritiker geben, die sagen, naja, wir haben es ja von Anfang an gesagt, gemeinsame EU-Schulden, das ist eine ganz schlechte Idee, das funktioniert sowieso nicht.

Und ich denke schon, das ist auf jeden Fall eine Warnung, dass man sagt, ja, wenn plötzlich so viel Geld da ist, dass das einfach nicht ordentlich ausgegeben werden kann.

Und insofern spielt das schon denen in die Hände, wie Deutschland, wie auch den Niederlanden, die sagen, ja, also wir müssen schon gucken und auf keinen Fall gemeinsame Schulden für Europa aufnehmen.

And in this respect, it plays right into the hands of those in Germany and the Netherlands who say, yes, we definitely have to be careful and under no circumstances take on joint debt for Europe.
