Mach einen Unterschied, weil einen Punkt möchte ich deswegen nicht setzen,

Because after a point, something new comes again.

Ich hoffe, dass ich dir noch ein paar Gedanken, Ideen, Inspirationen heute mit auf den Weg bringen kann,

I hope that I can share some thoughts, ideas, and inspirations with you today.

weil ich glaube, dass Gott sich, also Gott hat, glaube ich, einen richtig großen Plan gestrickt,

because I believe that God has, well, I believe, woven a really big plan.

wenn es darum geht, einen Unterschied zu machen und uns damit reinzunehmen.

when it comes to making a difference and getting involved.

Was mir heute auf dem Herzen liegt, ist einfach der Zuspruch, du darfst.

What is weighing on my heart today is simply the affirmation, you are allowed.

Damit meine ich jetzt nicht eine kalorienfreie Joghurt-Geschichte oder sonstige Sachen,

By that I don’t mean a calorie-free yogurt story or other things,

sondern das ist etwas, was Gott angelegt hat, um uns in unsere Bestimmung hineinzubringen.

but that is something that God has put in place to bring us into our destiny.

Er ist jemand, der uns etwas zuspricht und wie er das tut und was er dabei tut,

He is someone who speaks something to us and how he does it and what he does while doing it,

das möchte ich gleich ein bisschen mehr vertiefen.

I would like to delve into that a bit more.

Wenn es um das Thema geht, mache einen Unterschied.

When it comes to the subject, make a difference.

Worum geht es dann da?

What is it about then?

Geht es da um Selbstverwirklichung?

Is it about self-realization?

Ich versuche uns nochmal so ein bisschen einzufangen, wo wir unterwegs sind.

I’m trying to capture a bit more what we’re up to as we go along.

Geht es darum, sich selbst zu verwirklichen?

Is it about realizing oneself?

Ich sage jetzt mal einfach nein, ohne das tiefer zu erklären, weil das kommt dann nachher.

I'm just going to say no for now, without explaining it further, because that will come later.

Oder geht es um ein Beschäftigungsprogramm, um Leute vor der Langeweile zu bewahren

Or is it about an employment program to keep people from boredom?

oder sonstige Geschichten damit zu machen?

or to make other stories with it?

Nein, darum geht es nicht.

No, that's not what it's about.

Es geht um etwas, was am Ende Gott auf seinem Herzen hat.

It is about something that God has on His heart in the end.

Und ich möchte mal die Frage in den Raum stellen.

And I would like to raise the question.

Was ist deine Vision für dein Leben?

What is your vision for your life?

Hast du eine Vision für dein Leben?

Do you have a vision for your life?

Hast du ein Bild?

Do you have a picture?

Was ist deine Vision für dein Leben, wie du dein Leben gestalten möchtest als Christ?

What is your vision for your life, how do you want to shape your life as a Christian?

Wie stellst du dir das vor?

How do you imagine that?

Ist die Vision davon geprägt, dass du jeden Sonntag zum Gottesdienst gehst,

Is the vision shaped by the fact that you go to church every Sunday?

hinterher lecker isst, Mittagsschlaf machst und dann fängt am Montag wieder die,

afterwards eats deliciously, takes a nap, and then on Monday it starts again,

die Arbeit an?

the work on?

Ist das deine Vision von Christ sein?

Is that your vision of being a Christian?

Dann lass mich dir sagen, Gott hat eine größere Vision.

Then let me tell you, God has a greater vision.

Definitiv.

Definitely.

Gott bleibt dabei nicht stehen.

God does not stand still.

Sein Traum ist mit Sicherheit größer.

His dream is definitely bigger.

Und deswegen möchte ich einfach mal mit dem reinkommen, was meine Vision für mein Leben ist.

And that’s why I would like to start by sharing what my vision for my life is.

Das könnt ihr kopieren, aber müsst ihr nicht.

You can copy that, but you don’t have to.

Das bietet sich immer an, sich selbst Gedanken zu machen und mit Gott zu reden und Gott zu hören.

It is always worth considering and talking to God and listening to God.

Aber ich möchte kurz meine Vision mal reingeben.

But I would like to briefly share my vision.

Und ich habe festgestellt, das war jetzt keine plötzliche Feststellung,

And I realized, that was not a sudden determination.

sondern das war auch sehr wohl durchdacht,

but that was also very well thought out,

dass das, was meine Vision für mein Leben ist, sehr wohl mit dem zusammenpasst,

that what my vision for my life is, indeed aligns with,

was die Gemeindevision hier ist.

Fakt ist, es gab mal irgendwann drei Schwerpunkte, die für mich sehr wichtig geworden sind.

The fact is, at some point there were three focal points that became very important to me.

Und das sind die Stichworte Mission, Anbetung, Heiliger Geist.

And these are the keywords mission, worship, Holy Spirit.

Und diese drei Schwerpunkte sind für mich oder machen meine Vision aus,

And these three focal points are essential to me or define my vision.

egal, ob ich Privatperson bin, ob ich als Pastor dieser Kirche unterwegs bin

no matter if I am a private person or if I am serving as a pastor of this church

oder ob ich Regionalleiter bin oder was auch immer.

or whether I am a regional manager or whatever.

Das ist das, was auf meinem Herzen liegt, was meine Vision mitbestimmt.

That is what is on my heart, what shapes my vision.

Und konkret heißt es für mich Anbetung.

And concretely, it means worship for me.

Ich möchte Gott in meinem Leben verherrlichen mit all dem, was ich habe und mich ihm hingeben.

I want to glorify God in my life with all that I have and devote myself to Him.

Nicht bezogen auf einen Gottesdienst, sondern auf mein Leben.

Not referring to a service, but to my life.

Ich möchte, und da kommt es zu dem Punkt Mission.

I want to, and that brings us to the point of mission.

Ich möchte mich von Gott gebrauchen lassen, aussenden lassen, da, wo er mich hinsendet.

I want to be used by God, to be sent out wherever He sends me.

Und im allgemeinsten Falle ist es mein Lebensumfeld, da, wo ich unterwegs bin,

And in the most general case, it is my living environment, where I am on the move,

da, wo ich mit Menschen zu tun habe.

there where I deal with people.

Da, wo ich mich gerade befinde.

Where I am right now.

Gerade befinde ich mich hier.

I am currently here.

Ihr seid mein Missionsfeld gerade.

You are my mission field right now.

Irgendwann morgen bin ich vielleicht irgendwo in Rheinbach und essen Eis.

Sometime tomorrow I might be somewhere in Rheinbach eating ice cream.

Schlechtwetter angesagt, werde ich wahrscheinlich nicht tun.

Bad weather is forecast, so I probably won't do it.

Aber dann ist da der Ort, wo Gott mich auch gebrauchen will.

But then there is the place where God also wants to use me.

Und ich will das tun mit dem, was Gott mir gegeben hat.

And I want to do that with what God has given me.

An Stärken, Schwächen, Gaben und so weiter mit meiner Persönlichkeit.

On strengths, weaknesses, gifts, and so on with my personality.

Und all das will ich zusammen mit dem Heiligen Geist tun.

And I want to do all of that together with the Holy Spirit.

Dass er mich bewegt.

That he moves me.

Ich möchte immer mehr lernen, mich vom Heiligen Geist bewegen zu lassen.

I want to learn more and more to be moved by the Holy Spirit.

Das ist meine Sehnsucht, dass er reinsprechen kann in mein Leben.

That is my longing, that he can speak into my life.

Und dass er wirken kann durch das, was ich bin und was ich auch tun kann.

And that he can act through what I am and what I can do.

Das ist meine Vision.

That is my vision.

Und das lässt sich wunderbar auch auf die Kirche übertragen.

And this can be wonderfully transferred to the Church as well.

Für meinen Dienst heißt das, ich will Gemeinde bauen,

For my service, this means I want to build community.

die sich vom Heiligen Geist bewegen lässt.

which is led by the Holy Spirit.

Und Gott mitten in der Welt verherrlicht.

And God glorified in the midst of the world.

Nicht hinter verschlossenen Mauern, sondern mitten in die Welt hinein

Not behind closed walls, but right into the world.

und ihn bekannt macht und dabei sein Wesen widerspiegelt.

and makes him known, reflecting his essence in the process.

Das ist das, was meine Vision, mein Herz ausmacht.

That is what defines my vision, my heart.

Und das passt wunderbar zusammen mit dem,

And that fits wonderfully with what,

was wir als Gemeindevision haben.

what we have as a community vision.

Familie sein, Gott erleben, sich verändern lassen,

Being family, experiencing God, allowing oneself to be changed,

Glauben teilen.

Share beliefs.

Was ist deine Vision für dein Leben?

What is your vision for your life?

Wenn du keinen hast, ermutige ich dich, dir eines schenken zu lassen.

If you don't have one, I encourage you to let someone give you one as a gift.

Ich glaube, und das ist mein Traum für diese Kirche,

I believe, and this is my dream for this church,

dass jeder seinen Platz in dieser Kirche findet.

that everyone finds their place in this church.

Und mehr Menschen Jesus kennenlernen.

And more people get to know Jesus.

Immer wieder mehr Menschen Jesus kennenlernen.

More and more people are getting to know Jesus.

Ich träume davon, dass mehr Leiter befähigt werden,

I dream that more leaders are empowered,

das zu tun, wozu sie bestimmt sind.

to do what they are destined to do.

Dass mehr Kleingruppen entstehen, an unterschiedlichsten Orten,

That more small groups are formed in various locations,

in unterschiedlichsten Subkulturen.

in various subcultures.

Ich träume davon, dass wir mehrere Gottesdienste hier auch feiern können,

I dream that we can also hold several services here.

so wie es halt irgendwie mit den Ressourcen auch passt.

just as it somehow fits with the resources.

Aber letzten Endes glaube ich auch, dass Gott durch diese Gemeinde

But in the end, I also believe that God works through this community.

mehr Gemeinden entstehen lassen will oder Campusse.

wants to create more communities or campuses.

Das ist etwas, wo ich glaube, dass das echt angelegt ist in dieser Kirche.

That's something I believe is truly embedded in this church.

Und wenn das passiert, dann wird Gott verherrlicht.

And when that happens, God will be glorified.

Ja?

Yes?

Menschen bekommen dadurch die Möglichkeit, Teil seiner Familie zu werden.

People are given the opportunity to become part of his family.

Und wenn wir uns den Missionsbefehl in Matthäus 28 an anderer Stelle mal angucken,

And when we take a look at the Great Commission in Matthew 28 elsewhere,

dann merken wir, mit anderen Worten ist das das, was eigentlich dort drin steht.

Then we realize, in other words, this is what is actually stated inside.

Gott möchte, und Jesus gab dafür sein Leben,

God wants it, and Jesus gave his life for it.

dass Menschen ihn kennenlernen, dass mehr Menschen ihn kennenlernen,

that people get to know him, that more people get to know him,

dass Menschen befähigt werden, in dem zu laufen, was Gott für sie bestimmt hat.

that people are empowered to walk in what God has destined for them.

Dass sie das tun, was Jesus eigentlich schon selber,

That they do what Jesus actually already did himself,

aber auch vorgelebt hat und was er für uns vorbereitet hat.

but also exemplified and what he has prepared for us.

Gott möchte, dass wir da reinkommen.

God wants us to get in there.

Und Gott hat sich die Gemeinde ausgedacht, um diesen Plan zu vollenden.

And God conceived the church to fulfill this plan.

Und in die Gemeinde hat er eine DNA eingebaut, die sagt, du darfst.

And he built a DNA into the community that says, you may.

Wir gucken uns das gleich genau an, was das bedeutet.

We'll take a close look at what that means right away.

Weil das steht nicht einfach, das reicht nicht aus, dass man das irgendwo hinschreibt.

Because that doesn't just stand; it's not enough to just write it down somewhere.

Es reicht auch nicht aus, dass man das einfach mal nur in der Predigt sagt.

It's not enough to just say that in a sermon.

Aber es ist in der, in dem,

But it is in the, in the,

weil man Gemeinde richtig versteht, steckt da drin die Botschaft, du darfst.

Because when you understand community correctly, the message contained in it is, you are allowed to.

Ich werde es gleich nochmal ein bisschen differenzieren.

I will differentiate it a bit more right away.

Fakt ist, du darfst ein Teil von Gottes Vision sein.

The fact is, you are allowed to be a part of God's vision.

Von der Gemeindevision.

From the community vision.

Du darfst dich einbringen mit dem, was du kannst, wenn du willst.

You are allowed to contribute with what you can, if you want to.

Das heißt auch, wir brauchen heute mehr Menschen, die einen Unterschied machen,

That also means we need more people today who make a difference,

damit wir morgen mehr Kleingruppen, mehr Leiter und mehr Gemeinden haben,

so that we have more small groups, more leaders, and more churches tomorrow,

die anderen die Möglichkeit geben,

to give others the opportunity,

Jesus kennenzulernen.

To get to know Jesus.

Das heißt für uns heute auch als Leiterschaft oder für uns alle,

This means for us today as leadership or for all of us,

wir müssen heute da rein investieren,

We need to invest in there today.

dass mehr Menschen befähigt werden, das zu tun, wozu Gott sie bestimmt hat.

that more people are empowered to do what God has called them to do.

Damit fangen wir heute an, damit es morgen mehr Kleingruppen,

We will start with that today, so that there are more small groups tomorrow.

mehr Leiter, mehr Gemeinden gibt, durch die Jesus sich verherrlichen kann.

more leaders, more communities through which Jesus can be glorified.

Wo Menschen wieder die Chance haben, Jesus kennenzulernen.

Where people have the chance to get to know Jesus again.

Vielleicht denkt ihr, was hat der für ein Spielen, was hat der geraucht?

Maybe you're thinking, what kind of game is he playing, what has he smoked?

Gemeinde ist kein Selbstzweck.

Community is not an end in itself.

Sondern wir sind mit einer Berufung in diese Welt gesetzt, als Gemeinde.

But we are set in this world with a calling, as a community.

Und zwar ihn zu verherrlichen und seinen Auftrag in dieser Welt zu erfüllen.

Namely to glorify Him and to fulfill His mission in this world.

Und das auf sehr vielfältige Art und Weise.

And that in very diverse ways.

Mit sehr unterschiedlichen Menschen.

With very different people.

Mach einen Unterschied.

Make a difference.

Und Jesus sagt, durch seine Kirche, nicht nur durch diese, generell.

And Jesus says, through His Church, not only through this one, in general.

Jesus will durch seine Kirche.

Jesus wants to work through his church.

Er will durch seine Kirche sagen, du darfst.

He wants to say through his church, you may.

Ich möchte es ein bisschen vertiefen, um deutlich zu machen,

I would like to delve a little deeper to make it clear that,

wie das aussehen kann, dass Jesus sagt, du darfst.

how that can look when Jesus says, you may.

Da lesen wir mal Epheser 4, Abvers 11.

So let's read Ephesians 4, starting from verse 11.

Und ich gehe da mal so stückchenweise durch.

And I'll go through it bit by bit.

Die meisten kennen diese Bibelstelle vielleicht im Zusammenhang mit dem fünffältigen Dienst.

Most may know this biblical passage in connection with the fivefold ministry.

Der kommt auch darin vor.

Aber es geht um mehr.

But it's about more.

Und vielleicht haben viele noch gar nicht gelesen, was danach steht.

And maybe many haven't even read what comes after that.

Weil das ist eigentlich das Wichtige, worum es geht.

Because that is actually the important thing that it's about.

Epheser 4, Vers 11.

Ephesians 4:11.

Er ist es nun auch, der der Gemeinde Gaben geschenkt hat.

He is also the one who has gifted the congregation with gifts.

Er hat ihr die Apostel gegeben, die Propheten, die Evangelisten, die Hirten und Lehrer.

He gave her the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds, and teachers.

Sie haben die Aufgabe, diejenigen, die zu Gottes heiligem Volk gehören,

You have the task of those who belong to God's holy people,

für ihren Dienst auszurüsten.

to equip for their service.

Damit die Gemeinde, der Leib von Christus, aufgebaut wird.

So that the church, the body of Christ, may be built up.

Gott hat sich vorgenommen, Menschen rüberzubringen, dass sie verstehen,

God intends to bring people over so that they understand,

er hat eine Bestimmung für sie, er hat einen Platz für sie.

He has a purpose for her, he has a place for her.

Er hat einen Platz für sie im Reich Gottes, in dieser Welt und auch in einer Gemeinde.

He has a place for her in the kingdom of God, in this world, and also in a congregation.

Das hat er sich vorgenommen und er hat dazu sich etwas ausgedacht,

He has set that goal for himself and he has come up with something for it.

wie dieses Du darfst auch wirklich rüberkommt.

how this you is really coming across.

Und ein Teil davon, von diesem Du darfst,

And part of it, of this you may,

sind bestimmte Dienste und Leitungsrollen in der Kirche.

there are certain services and leadership roles in the church.

Weltweit.

Worldwide.

Diese Dienste, die hier beschrieben werden oder Ämter,

These services, which are described here or offices,

kann es in unterschiedlicher Ausprägung geben.

It can occur in different forms.

Apostel, Propheten, Evangelisten, Hirten und Lehrer.

Apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds, and teachers.

Es kann sein, dass das Menschen sind, die exakt in diesen Ämtern unterwegs sind.

It may be that these are people who are precisely involved in these offices.

Ich bin jetzt aber mal so frei auch zu sagen,

I will now take the liberty to say,

es gibt auch Leitungsrollen.

There are also leadership roles.

Leiter und Menschen, wo ich eher das Eigenschaftswort benutzen würde,

Leaders and people, where I would rather use the adjective.

die haben eine apostolische Orientierung oder Gesinnung oder Herzenshaltung,

they have an apostolic orientation or attitude or disposition of the heart,

die ich aber nicht gleich als Apostel bezeichnen würde.

which I would not immediately refer to as an apostle.

Und Evangelisten, Hirten, Lehrer, Propheten genauso.

And evangelists, shepherds, teachers, and prophets just the same.

Das kann man auch darauf anwenden.

You can also apply that to it.

Fakt ist, Gott hat Schlüsselrollen in seine Gemeinde reingesetzt

The fact is, God has placed key roles in His church.

und dazu gehören auch Leiter, Älteste und so weiter.

and this also includes leaders, elders, and so on.

Und deren Aufgabe ist es, das Potenzial in den Christen zu vermitteln.

And their task is to convey the potential in Christians.

Die Aufgabe von Leitern ist nicht, sich selbst zu gefallen,

The task of leaders is not to please themselves,

so hat Petrus es auch mal ausgedrückt,

so Peter expressed it once,

und sich ihr eigenes Reich zu bauen,

and to build her own kingdom,

sondern die Gemeinde dahin zu bringen, wo Gott sie hinhaben will,

but to bring the congregation to where God wants her to be,

dass Menschen freigesetzt sind und dass sie zugerüstet werden

that people are released and that they are equipped

zu dem, wozu sie bestimmt sind, für ihren Dienst.

to what they are destined for, for their service.

Das ist Epheser 11 und 12.

Der Pastor sorgt für die Ernährung.

Wobei Pastor in unserem westlichen Bereich

Pastor in our western area

oftmals ein Titel ist, den jemand trägt.

often a title that someone bears.

Das heißt nicht, dass gleich jemand auch nur diese Gabe hat.

That doesn't mean that anyone has that gift right away.

Ich kenne viele Pastoren, die haben ganz andere Gaben als die eines Hirten.

I know many pastors who have gifts quite different from that of a shepherd.

Und der Lehrer sorgt für Verständnis und versucht, das zu erklären,

was Gott als seinen Willen in der Bibel offenbart hat,

um Menschen in diesen Willen Gottes mit hineinzunehmen.

to involve people in this will of God.

Er integriert.

He integrates.

Und letzten Endes gibt es den Evangelisten,

And in the end, there is the evangelist,

der die Botschaft raushauen will und Menschen sucht,

who wants to get the message out and is looking for people,

mit denen er das machen kann und die er dazu zurüsten will,

with whom he can do this and whom he wants to equip for it,

um halt mehr Menschen in das Reich Gottes einzuladen.

to invite more people into the kingdom of God.

Und diese unterschiedlichen Farben

möchte Jesus in der Gemeinde ausgeprägt sehen.

wants to see Jesus expressed in the community.

Damit die Heiligen zum Dienst zugerüstet werden.

That the saints may be equipped for service.

Dazu ist es auch nötig, dass es in uns,

It is also necessary that there is within us,

ich beziehe das jetzt mal auf unsere Kirche,

I will relate this to our church now.

in uns als Leitern immer mehr zum Ausdruck kommt.

is increasingly becoming evident in us as leaders.

Und wir in das hineinkommen, wozu Gott uns bestimmt hat.

And we enter into what God has destined for us.

Oder wozu Gott andere, die im Moment noch gar nicht in Leitungsfunktionen drin sind,

Or why God would appoint others who are not yet in leadership positions.

Gemeinde ist in Bewegung.

The community is in motion.

Am Ende geht es bei diesen Rollen um geistlichen Schutz,

geht um geistliche Elternschaft.

It is about spiritual parenthood.

Meine Elternschaft, die Schutz bietet

My parenthood that offers protection.

und, um es bildlich auszudrücken,

Kindern die Möglichkeit gibt, zu wachsen.

gives children the opportunity to grow.

Es geht um geistliche Elternschaft, die Räume schafft,

It's about spiritual parenthood that creates spaces,

damit Menschen ihren Platz finden können.

so that people can find their place.

Und diese unterschiedlichen Rollen

And these different roles

eignen sich wunderbar dazu, sich zu zankigen.

are wonderfully suited for bickering.

Weil, wenn du apostolisch orientiert bist,

Because if you are apostolically oriented,

eine so komplett andere Perspektive auf die Situation hast,

you have such a completely different perspective on the situation,

als wenn du Hirte bist.

as if you are a shepherd.

Oder prophetisch begabt bist.

Or you are prophetically gifted.

Oder evangelistisch.

Or evangelistic.

Wenn irgendjemand Stunk miteinander hat,

If anyone is causing trouble with each other,

dann sagt der Evangelist, lass den ganzen Mist,

then the evangelist says, forget all that nonsense,

wir müssen rausgehen, die Menschen retten.

We have to go out and save the people.

Ich übertreibe jetzt ganz bewusst,

I am now deliberately exaggerating,

das macht man sehr gerne bei diesen Geschichten,

one does that very willingly with these stories,

um das deutlich zu machen.

Aber Gott hat sich das ausgedacht,

But God thought this up,

diese unterschiedlichen Menschen zusammenzubringen,

to bring these different people together,

Das ist ein ganz spannendes Projekt.

Und die Kunst ist, das zu tun,

worüber Paulus dann auch im weiteren Vers schreibt,

nämlich sich gegenseitig zu ergänzen,

Und das betrifft ja nicht nur Leiter.

Und deswegen ist es wichtig,

Und deswegen ist mir das wichtig zu betonen,

deren Maßstab Christus selbst ist

in seiner ganzen Fülle.

Und Einheit heißt nicht Gleichförmigkeit.

Ist mal nett, wenn man es macht,

Aber Gott hat uns alle sehr unterschiedlich geschaffen

und er will uns in dieser Unterschiedlichkeit

and he wants us in this difference

trotzdem zu einem Leib gestalten.

nevertheless to shape into a body.

Und zwar auf einen hin,

And indeed in one direction,

der diese ganze Einheit auch schenken kann.

who can also gift this whole unit.

Das ist Jesus, der sein Leben für uns gegeben hat

That is Jesus, who gave his life for us.

und der sein Leib hat,

and the one who has his body,

der hat zerbrechen lassen,

he had broken it,

damit wir in unserer Zerbrochenheit

so that we may be in our brokenness

und Unterschiedlichkeit zu einem Leib zusammenwachsen.

and grow together as one body in diversity.

Das ist Sinn dieses Zerbruchs,

That is the meaning of this break.

den Jesus am Kreuz erlebt hat.

that Jesus experienced on the cross.

Und durch die Auferstehungskraft

And through the power of resurrection

kann er uns dahin bringen,

dass wir trotz unserer Unterschiedlichkeit

Nicht, weil wir in unserem Ding sind

In unserer Unterschiedlichkeit.

In our differences.

Keiner hat alles,

No one has everything,

weder Leiter noch die Gemeinde.

neither the leader nor the congregation.

Christus ist alles in allem.

Christ is all in all.

Das ist ein Vers,

That is a verse,

der im ersten Kapitel des Epheser-Beriefes steht,

which is found in the first chapter of the Epistle to the Ephesians,

Vers 23.

Christus ist alles in allem.

Christ is all in all.

In all der Vielfalt,

In all the diversity,

die es in einer Gemeinde gibt.

that exist in a community.

Altersmäßig, herkunftsmäßig,

By age, by origin,

ethnisch gesehen.

ethnically speaking.

Der David trägt so ein schönes T-Shirt.

David is wearing such a beautiful T-shirt.

Ich habe auch so eins zu Hause, so ein ähnliches.

I have one like that at home, a similar one.

Ist allerdings für den Winter. Ich werde das irgendwann anziehen.

It's actually for the winter. I'll wear it sometime.

Dann sind wir uns ein bisschen ähnlicher.

Then we are a bit more similar.

Aber Gott will uns in unserer Vielfältigkeit zu einem Leib zusammenbringen.

But God wants to bring us together as one body in our diversity.

Woran kann man merken, dass wir dieses Ziel erreicht haben?

How can one tell that we have achieved this goal?

Oder dass wir Fortschritte machen?

Or is it that we are making progress?

Wir merken es daran, dass wir in der Abhängigkeit und in unserem Vertrauen zu Gott wachsen.

We notice it by the fact that we grow in dependence and in our trust in God.

Wir merken es daran, dass wir in Liebe, Respekt und Vergebungsbereitschaft uns selbst, aber auch anderen gegenüber wachsen.

We notice it by the fact that we grow in love, respect, and willingness to forgive towards ourselves, but also towards others.

Bei aller Unterschiedlichkeit.

In spite of all the differences.

Das ist ein Grund, warum wir diese Vergebungsbereitschaft brauchen.

That is one reason why we need this willingness to forgive.

Weswegen Jesus auch sagt, 70 mal 7, also ohne Ende, sollen wir bereit sein zu vergeben.

That's why Jesus also says, 70 times 7, meaning endlessly, we should be willing to forgive.

Wir wachsen im Dienst aneinander, wodurch wir klarstellen, es geht nicht um uns, sondern es geht letzten Endes um ihn, um sein Reich.

We grow in serving one another, which clarifies that it's not about us, but ultimately it's about Him, about His kingdom.

Wir wachsen im Umgang mit den übernatürlichen Gaben des Geistes, weil Jesus ist der Referenzpunkt, der Bezugspunkt, woran wir sehen können, ob wir in der Reife unterwegs sind oder nicht.

We grow in the use of the supernatural gifts of the Spirit because Jesus is the reference point, the benchmark by which we can see whether we are on the path to maturity or not.

Und in seinem übernatürlichen Bereich mit den Gaben des Geistes unterwegs zu sein, ist Jesus gemäß.

And to be active in his supernatural realm with the gifts of the Spirit is in accordance with Jesus.

Wir wären dumm, wenn wir das ausdrücken.

We would be foolish to express that.

Wir wären dumm, wenn wir das ausblenden würden.

We would be foolish to ignore that.

Und man merkt es daran, dass wir wachsen in der Dankbarkeit, weil wir Teil seines Teams sind und nicht unser eigenes Reich bauen oder unser eigenes Ding machen.

And you can tell by the fact that we grow in gratitude because we are part of his team and not building our own kingdom or doing our own thing.

Die Botschaft, vielleicht hört ihr das da jetzt so ansatzweise mal raus, die Botschaft, die da drin steckt, ist, du darfst dabei sein.

The message, perhaps you can hear it hinted at now, is that you are allowed to be part of it.

Du darfst.

You may.

Aus Jesu Sicht würde ich sogar sagen, du sollst.

From Jesus' perspective, I would even say you should.

Ich will dich dabei haben.

I want you to be there with me.

Ich habe dich erlöst.

I have redeemed you.

Ich bin für dich am Kreuz gestorben.

I died on the cross for you.

Ich möchte, dass du Teil meines Teams bist.

I want you to be part of my team.

Und auf diese Art und Weise wird Jesus mehr und mehr in unserer Gesellschaft sichtbar.

And in this way, Jesus becomes more and more visible in our society.

In dem, was wir tun, wie wir es tun, wie wir sind.

In what we do, how we do it, how we are.

Und abschließend ermutigt uns Paulus, da auch nochmal auf diesem Weg zu bleiben, uns wieder lehrmäßig ablenken zu lassen, noch aus dieser Liebe herausbringen zu lassen.

And finally, Paul encourages us to stay on this path, not to be distracted doctrinally, nor to be led away from this love.

Er sagt in Vers 15.

He says in verse 15.

Stattdessen sollen wir in einem Geist der Liebe an der Wahrheit festhalten, damit wir im Glauben wachsen und in jeder Hinsicht mehr und mehr dem ähnlich werden, der das Haupt ist, Christus.

Instead, we should hold on to the truth in a spirit of love, so that we may grow in faith and become more and more like Him who is the head, Christ, in every respect.

Ihm verdankt der Leib sein gesamtes Wachstum.

The body owes its entire growth to him.

Mit Hilfe all der verschiedenen Gelenke, dazu gehören auch die Leitungsdienste, aber auch andere Geschichten, ist er zusammengefügt.

With the help of all the different joints, which also include the utility services, but also other stories, he is connected.

Durch sie wird er zusammengehalten.

He is held together by it.

Er wird gestützt und jeder einzelne Körperteil, Menschen mit unterschiedlichen Persönlichkeiten, unterschiedlichen Begabungen, unterschiedlicher Herkunft,

He is supported, and each individual body part, people with different personalities, different talents, different backgrounds,

jeder einzelne Körperteil leistet seinen Beitrag entsprechend der ihm zugewiesenen Aufgabe, die in erster Linie von Gott bestimmt wird.

Each individual body part contributes according to the task assigned to it, which is primarily determined by God.

Und so wächst der Leib heran und wird durch die Liebe aufgebaut.

And so the body grows and is built up through love.

Und spätestens hier merken wir, Christus will durch die Gemeinde sprechen.

And at the latest here we realize that Christ wants to speak through the church.

Zu uns und sagen, du darfst.

To us and say, you may.

Du bist ein Teil des Ganzen.

You are a part of the whole.

Bring dich ein mit dem, was ich dir gegeben habe.

Contribute with what I have given you.

Er möchte, dass wir auf diesem Weg hineinkommen in die guten Werke, die er bereits vorbereitet hat.

He wants us to enter into the good works that he has already prepared in this way.

Ich habe darüber in der ersten Predigt vor zwei Wochen gesprochen.

I spoke about this in the first sermon two weeks ago.

Das steht in Epheser Kapitel 2, Vers 10.

This is stated in Ephesians chapter 2, verse 10.

Und wenn jeder Einzelne in dem unterwegs ist, wo Jesus ihm sagt, du darfst.

And when each individual is on the path where Jesus tells him, you may.

You may.

Dann kommt ganze Gemeinde auch in ihre Bestimmung.

Then the whole congregation will also come into its purpose.

Dann entsteht Reife.

Then maturity develops.

Und es kann für jeden von uns etwas anderes bedeuten.

Ich werde es nochmal ein bisschen konkreter gleich machen, aber ich möchte noch ein paar Gedanken ergänzen.

Mir war wichtig, diese biblische Grundlage zu legen, weil Jesus nicht nur nette Worte uns zuspricht, du darfst,

He encounters Jesus on the water while sitting in the boat.

Der kommt ihnen entgegen.

He is coming towards them.

Und als Petrus gecheckt hat, dass Jesus übers Wasser geht, sagt er zu Jesus, lass mich auch zu dir kommen.

And when Peter checked that Jesus was walking on the water, he said to Jesus, let me come to you too.

Ganz ehrlich, rein als Mensch, ich so, wenn ich nicht im Geist bin, würde sagen, der hat nicht alle Latten am Zaun.

To be honest, just as a human, I would say that if I weren't in my right mind, he doesn't have all his screws loose.

Der soll mal ein bisschen kleiner die Brötchen backen.

He should bake a few smaller buns.

Aber Jesus ist halt anders als ich.

But Jesus is just different from me.

Keine überraschende Botschaft.

No surprising message.

Aber Jesus sagt zu ihm, komm.

Was macht Jesus?

What is Jesus doing?

Also bezogen auf das, was wir gerade besprechen, ist es nichts anderes, als dass er ihm sagt, ja mach doch, du darfst es.

So regarding what we are currently discussing, it is nothing other than him saying, yes go ahead, you are allowed to do it.

Ich erlaube dir das.

I allow you to do that.

Und Petrus geht.

And Peter goes.

Petrus geht auch wirklich auf dem Wasser, bis ihm auffällt, dass er auf dem Wasser geht.

Peter really walks on the water until he notices that he is walking on the water.

Und es ist nicht der Asphalt unter dem...

And it is not the asphalt beneath the...

So als üblicher Belag unter seinen Füßen ist.

So as a usual covering under his feet is.

Asphalt gab es damals noch nicht.

There was no asphalt back then.

Aber irgendwelche Feldwege und sonstige Geschichten.

But any field paths and other stories.

Was Jesus ihm eigentlich sagt, ist, du darfst.

What Jesus is actually telling him is, you may.

Aber was ich dir nicht abnehmen kann, ist, dass du glaubst.

But what I can't take away from you is that you believe.

Die Verantwortung liegt bei dir.

The responsibility lies with you.

Und deswegen möchte ich uns das nochmal zusprechen.

And that is why I would like to reiterate this to us.

Hey, wenn du irgendwie den Eindruck hast, dass...

Hey, if you somehow have the impression that...

dass Jesus dir...

that Jesus you...

dir etwas gegeben hat, was du auch mit einbringen willst,

has given you something that you also want to contribute.

wovon du noch nicht weißt, ob es das wirklich ist,

dann wag doch mal einen Schritt.

Then dare to take a step.

Geh auf irgendjemand zu.

Approach someone.

Und wenn du das kannst, dann wag es doch.

And if you can do that, then go for it.

Ich setze auch auf euren gesunden Menschenverstand.

Ermutige euch jetzt hier nicht zu irgendeinem Unsinn.

Do not encourage yourselves to any nonsense here now.

Zum Beispiel, fang doch an für Menschen zu beten.

For example, start praying for people.

Wenn du die Sehnsucht hast, dass Menschen geheilt werden.

If you have the longing for people to be healed.

Hey, das können wir nicht.

Hey, we can't do that.

Also gut, David kann es.

Alright, David can do it.

Mit medizinischen Mitteln.

With medical means.

Aber rein geistlich betrachtet oder menschlich betrachtet,

But purely from a spiritual or human perspective,

können wir keine Menschen heilen.

we cannot heal people.

Was wir machen können, ist für Menschen beten, dass Gott sie heilt.

What we can do is pray for people that God heals them.

Und seine Kraft,

And his strength,

seinen Namen über Menschen aussprechen.

to pronounce his name over people.

Das ist etwas, wozu er uns berufen und gesandt hat.

This is something to which he has called and sent us.

Und da möchte ich dich zu ermutigen, wenn das etwas ist,

And I would like to encourage you to do that if it is something.

was bei dir im Herzen ist, dann fang doch mal an.

What is in your heart, then go ahead and start.

Ohne gleich eine Kanzel aufzubauen und den großen Hero zu spielen.

Without immediately setting up a pulpit and playing the great hero.

Einfach mal schlicht und ergreifend.

Simply plain and straightforward.

Und während du etwas ausprobierst und riskierst,

And while you try something out and take a risk,

wirst du merken,

you will notice,

was es zu lernen gibt.

Und was Gott tun kann.

And what God can do.

Ich möchte dir auch zusprechen, dass du Fehler machen darfst.

I also want to encourage you that you are allowed to make mistakes.

Wir sind in einer Gesellschaft, in der es echt ein großes Ding ist,

We are in a society where it really is a big deal,

Fehler zu machen.

To make mistakes.

Ich fange jetzt mal mit einem größeren Bild an.

I'll start with a bigger picture now.

In unserer Wirtschaft ist das ein Problem.

In our economy, this is a problem.

Das ist teilweise auch im Bereich Gemeindegründung ein Problem.

This is partly a problem in the area of church planting as well.

So dieses Ding, wenn irgendwas mal nicht funktioniert,

So this thing, when something doesn’t work out,

wenn irgendwas...

if anything...

So gar nicht funktioniert.

It doesn't work at all.

Und jeder sieht es.

And everyone sees it.

Jeder kriegt es mit.

Everyone notices it.

Das ist sowas von dramatisch bei uns in Deutschland.

It's so dramatic for us in Germany.

In anderen Kulturen ist es nicht so dramatisch.

In other cultures, it is not so dramatic.

Die sagen, okay, so hat es nicht funktioniert.

They say, okay, so that didn't work.

Also müssen wir es anders machen.

So we have to do it differently.

Der Erfinder der Glühbirne hat über tausend Versuche gehabt,

The inventor of the light bulb had over a thousand attempts,

bis die Glühbirne wirklich geleuchtet hat.

until the light bulb really lit up.

Welches Mindset musst du haben, um sowas zu machen?

What mindset do you need to have to do something like that?

Okay, du musst eine Durchhaltefähigkeit haben.

Okay, you need to have perseverance.

Aber du musst auch denken, okay,

But you also have to think, okay,

das beschreibt jetzt nicht mich als Person,

that does not describe me as a person now,

als den Versager,

as the failure,

sondern so hat es nicht funktioniert.

but that didn't work out.

Und ich möchte dir an der Stelle einfach sagen,

And I would just like to say to you,

du darfst Fehler machen.

You are allowed to make mistakes.

Wer nichts wagt, wird auch keine Fehler machen.

Those who don't take risks will also not make any mistakes.

Wer seinen Kopf nicht aus dem Fenster rausstreckt,

Whoever doesn't stick their head out of the window,

wird es nicht erleben.

will not experience it.

Ich möchte euch ein kurzes Beispiel erzählen.

und habe die auch dann hier und da mit eingebracht.

and have also contributed to them here and there.

Und dann kam es dazu, dass in Herne, Ruhrgebiet,

And then it happened that in Herne, Ruhr area,

eine Ordination stattfand von einem Pastor,

an ordination took place by a pastor,

der vorher die Ausbildung vollendet hatte.

who had completed the training beforehand.

Und mein damaliger Pastor hatte die grandiose Idee,

mich einzuladen, dass ich da ein Lied vorsinge zur Ordination.

to invite me to sing a song at the ordination.

Fand ich auch ganz toll und bin mitgekommen

I also found it great and went along.

und saß dann in diesem hocherwürdigen Auditorium,

and then sat in this highly respected auditorium,

Haufen Christen, 200 Leute.

Bunch of Christians, 200 people.

Ich war noch nie in diesem Gebäude zu dem damaligen Zeitpunkt

I had never been in this building at that time.

und habe so gewartet.

and have waited like this.

Und dann habe ich mich eingeladen,

And then I invited myself,

und dann habe ich mich eingeladen, und dann habe ich mich eingeladen,

and then I invited myself, and then I invited myself,

Zu der Zeit war es so, dass Ordinationen durchaus manchmal etwas länger dauerten

At that time, it was such that appointments sometimes took a little longer.

und so diese ganze Welt nicht in meine Welt reinpasste,

and so this whole world did not fit into my world,

habe ich gemerkt.

I have noticed.

Ich bin irgendwie anders gestrickt.

spiegelte jetzt nicht unbedingt die himmlische Weisheit wieder,

did not necessarily reflect divine wisdom now,

um es mal so auszudrücken.

Ich weiß nicht mehr komplett im Detail,

I no longer remember everything in detail.

was ich so alles gedacht habe, aber ich war ein bisschen,

what I was thinking, but I was a bit,

ja, ungeduldig und genervt.

Yes, impatient and annoyed.

Und dann kam ich dran, setzte mich ans Klavier

And then it was my turn, I sat down at the piano.

und hatte mein Lied,

and had my song,

mein Song in meinem Herzen und in meinem Kopf.

my song in my heart and in my head.

Und dann fing ich an zu spielen.

And then I started to play.

Das Lied hieß sinnigerweise

The song was aptly called

Ich will gehen mit dem Heiligen Geist

I want to go with the Holy Spirit.

und fing an so zu spielen

and began to play like that

und merke nach dem ersten Refrain,

and notice after the first chorus,

wo ist die erste Strophe hingelaufen.

Where has the first verse run off to?

Mein Pastor merkte,

My pastor noticed,

er merkt das

he notices that

und versucht aus der ersten Reihe zu soufflieren

and tries to prompt from the front row

und er kannte das ja auch, das Lied,

and he knew that too, the song,

aber es hat nicht so richtig funktioniert.

but it didn't really work.

Und dann habe ich so drei, vier Runden um den Refrain rumgemacht.

Mein Orgellehrer hat irgendwann mal gesagt,

du darfst alles machen, nur nicht aufhören.

bis ich festgestellt habe, Blackout, ich habe es nicht drauf.

ich will gehen mit dem Heiligen Geist,

I want to walk with the Holy Spirit.

aber offensichtlich gibt es da gerade ein Problem.

But obviously there is a problem right now.

Und dann habe ich gesagt,

okay, sorry, ich habe einen Text vergessen.

Okay, sorry, I forgot a text.

200 Leute grinsten.

200 people were grinning.

Und ich bin auf den Platz zurückgegangen

And I went back to the square.

und in dem Moment,

and at that moment,

ich mag es überhaupt nicht, mich zu blamieren,

I don't like to embarrass myself at all.

also ich weiß nicht, wer das mag,

well, I don't know who likes that,

gerade vor 200 Leuten,

aber in dem Moment bin ich auf meinen Platz zurückgegangen

und ich habe gemerkt,

wie Gott mich anlächelt.

how God smiles at me.

Und ich habe genau gewusst, was er mir sagen will.

And I knew exactly what he wanted to tell me.

So nach dem Motto,

Das ist das Gegenteil.
