Im heutigen Evangelium der Liturgie spricht Jesus über das Reine und das Unreine.

Oder die alten Eltern vernachlässigen, die Hilfe und Gesellschaft brauchen.

Or neglect the elderly parents who need help and companionship.

Das ist ein Doppelleben.

Und das kann man nicht.

Das ist, was die Pharisäer machten.

That is what the Pharisees did.

Die externe Reinheit ohne die guten Haltungen der Barmherzigkeit mit den Anderen.

The external purity without the good attitudes of mercy towards others.

Und man kann auch nicht scheinbar korrekt sein im Umgang mit allen,

And one cannot appear to be correct in dealing with everyone.

vielleicht sogar ein wenig ehrenamtliche Arbeit leisten

maybe even do a little volunteer work

und einige philanthropische Gesten vollbringen,

and perform some philanthropic gestures,

aber dann im Innern den Hass gegen die Anderen nähren,

but then nourish the hatred against others from within,

die Armen und Geringsten verachten

to despise the poor and the least

oder sich unehrlich bei der eigenen Arbeit verhalten.

Auf diese Weise reduziert sich die Beziehung zu Gott auf äußere Gesten

Wir sind für etwas anderes geschaffen.

We are for true purity,

die Zärtlichkeit, die Liebe gemacht.

Fragen wir uns, lebe ich meinen Glauben in konsequenter Weise,

das heißt, das, was ich in der Kirche tue,
