Genau richtig. Ich habe mir vor knapp acht Jahren ein bisschen Sorgen um meine Oma gemacht,
Exactly right. I was a little worried about my grandma almost eight years ago,
weil sie ein bisschen ausgeschlossen war von dem ganzen digitalen Familienalltag, den wir und sicher viele andere Familien auch so haben.
because she felt a bit excluded from the whole digital family life that we and certainly many other families have as well.
Das heißt, ich meine damit, man schickt sich Bilder gegenseitig zu, man hält sich gegenseitig auf dem Laufenden,
That means, I mean, you send each other pictures, you keep each other updated,
man weiß eigentlich immer, was die anderen so machen.
You generally always know what the others are up to.
Nur meine Oma, die hat sich damals ausgeschlossen gefühlt davon, weil sie eben kein Smartphone, keinen Touchscreen und keinen Computer bedienen kann.
Only my grandma felt excluded from it back then because she couldn't operate a smartphone, a touchscreen, or a computer.
Das ist alles Technik, die ihr viel zu kompliziert war.

Und damals vor acht Jahren habe ich mir dann überlegt, ob es nicht eine einfachere Möglichkeit geben kann,

Das allererste Testgerät, was ich für meine Oma gebaut habe, das war damals einfach nur eine kleine Pappschachtel, die drei große Knöpfe hatte.
The very first test device that I built for my grandma was just a small cardboard box with three large buttons.
Kann man sich ein bisschen vorstellen wie so ein Spielautomat, diese Knöpfe.
You can imagine it a bit like a slot machine, these buttons.
Und das Ganze war angeschlossen an einen großen Computermonitor.
And the whole thing was connected to a large computer monitor.
Und das Gerät hat meiner Oma ermöglicht, Bilder anzuschauen, die ich und meine Familie ihr geschickt haben.
And the device has allowed my grandma to view pictures that me and my family have sent her.
Und zwar, was eben ganz wichtig war, sie konnte das wirklich selbstbestimmt machen.
And indeed, what was very important was that she could really do it autonomously.
Und das Ganze hat so funktioniert, sie hatte eben drei große Tasten, mit denen konnte sie einmal das Gerät ein- und ausschalten.
And it all worked like this, she had three big buttons with which she could turn the device on and off.
Dann wurde die neueste Nachricht angezeigt und dann hatte sie noch zwei Tasten, um sich eben durch die alten Bilder vor und zurück durchdrücken zu können.

Und das Besondere daran war, dass sie nicht verstehen musste, wie funktioniert ein Computer, was ist ein Smartphone, was ist das Internet, sondern es gab einfach nur diese drei Tasten.

Und das hat mit meiner Oma sehr gut funktioniert.
And that worked very well with my grandma.
So gut, dass dann sehr bald Freunde auf mich zugekommen sind und auch solche Geräte für ihre Großeltern oder auch ihre Eltern haben wollten.
So good that soon friends approached me wanting such devices for their grandparents or even their parents.
Und dann nach und nach.
And then gradually.
Und nach und nach sind dann noch mehr Leute auf mich zugekommen, die auch solche Testgeräte von mir haben wollten.
And gradually more people came to me who also wanted such test devices from me.
Und irgendwann waren das dann Freunde von Freunden und Leute, die ich gar nicht mehr kannte, die auch sowas für ihre Großeltern wollten.
And at some point, they were friends of friends and people I didn't even know anymore who also wanted something like that for their grandparents.
Und das war dann der Zeitpunkt, wo ich gemerkt habe, das ist ein Problem, was einen großen Teil unserer Gesellschaft betrifft.
And that was the moment when I realized that this is a problem that affects a large part of our society.
Und dem wollte ich mich gerne widmen.
And I would like to dedicate myself to that.
Ich wollte gerne dieser Altersgruppe, diesen Menschen.
I would like to address this age group, these people.
Auch den Zugang zu all den schönen Inhalten aus dem Internet ermöglichen.
Also enabling access to all the beautiful content from the internet.
Die Oma und die anderen Nutzer waren begeistert oder haben eher die Familienangehörigen geschoben, dass diese Geräte nötig sind?
Did the grandma and the other users enjoy it, or did they rather push the family members to say that these devices are necessary?
Also im allerersten Schritt sind die Anwender total überrascht davon, wie einfach das funktioniert.

Es gibt ja ansonsten keine Geräte, bei denen man wirklich, oder keine modernen Geräte, bei denen man wirklich so funktioniert,

Und das war damals und das ist auch heute noch das Alleinstellungsmerkmal von Enna.

Ich würde noch mal kurz auf dieses Beispiel von der Fernbedienung zurückkommen.

Man hat Kunststoffkarten, so in der Größe von einer EC-Karte.
