dass ihr heute schon ein bisschen gefeiert worden seid.

Und alle Männer, die merken, heute ist Muttertag,

Aber wir wollen Mütter und Frauen feiern, auch in diesem Gottesdienst.

But we want to celebrate mothers and women, even in this service.

Und wir wollen sie ermutigen und ehren und ihnen helfen,

And we want to encourage and honor them and help them,

immer wieder das zu ergreifen,

to seize that time and again,

was Gott sagt über das Frausein, über das Muttersein.

What God says about being a woman, about being a mother.

Dass wir ermutigt werden, zu einem biblischen Frausein,

That we be encouraged to embrace a biblical womanhood,

zu einem biblischen Muttersein.

to a biblical motherhood.

Das ist eine Kraft, die Gott hineingelegt hat in euch.

That is a power that God has placed within you.

Und wir wollen da helfen, dass ihr diese Anerkennung bekommt

And we want to help you receive this recognition.

und dass ihr die Ehre bekommt durch das Wort Gottes heute Morgen.

and that you receive the honor through the word of God this morning.

Dann möchte ich noch einmal kurz darauf hinweisen,

dann sprechen wir hinein in ein Thema, das sehr stark diskutiert wird

in unserer heutigen Gesellschaft, wo auch sehr viel Unsicherheit ist,

in our present society, where there is also a lot of uncertainty,

wo die Dinge nicht mehr klar sind.

Und mir wurde in der Vorbereitung auch für diese Botschaft,

der dann kommt, wieder eines klar,

Das ist unser Auftrag, auch hier in Bern,

dass wir die biblischen Werte, die biblischen Gedanken hochhalten.

Und gerade in einer Gesellschaft, die sich entfernt von diesen biblischen Werten,

And especially in a society that is moving away from these biblical values,

ist eine sehr wichtige und sehr notwendige Aufgabe, die wir haben als Gemeinde.

It is a very important and necessary task that we have as a community.

Wir leben in einer Zeit, wo Wahrheit hinterfragt wird.

We live in a time where truth is being questioned.

Dinge, die klar und wahr sind, werden hinterfragt und sie werden aufgelöst.

Things that are clear and true are questioned and they are dissolved.

Wir leben in einer Gesellschaft, in der nicht mehr gilt, was ist.

We live in a society where what is no longer matters.

Also nicht Wahrheit ist, was ist, sondern Wahrheit ist, was Wahrheit sein soll.

So truth is not what is, but truth is what truth should be.

Und dies dann abhängig von meinem individuellen Gusto.

And this then depending on my individual taste.

So wie ich mich fühle, so bin ich und das bin ich und alle anderen haben gefälligst mit mir zu sein,

The way I feel is who I am, and that is me, and everyone else should just deal with it.

sondern über das, was sein soll.

Und hier sind wir mittendrin und haben eine Aufgabe als Gemeinde.

And here we are in the thick of it, with a task as a community.

Bewegungen, die wir haben, wie diese Volkbewegung, die sich damit brüstet, gerecht zu sein,

Movements that we have, like this popular movement that boasts of being just,

die sich damit brüstet, allen zu helfen.

that boasts of helping everyone.

Raum zu geben, die sich damit brüstet, gegen jede Form von Ablehnung zu sein,

to make room for those who boast of being against any form of rejection,

gegen jede Form von Rassismus, gegen jede Form von Ausgrenzung, bewirkt genau das Gegenteil.

Against every form of racism, against every form of exclusion, has exactly the opposite effect.

Weil jeder, der dieses Gedankengut nicht teilt, wird gnadenlos ausgegrenzt, abgelehnt und fertig gemacht.

Because anyone who does not share this ideology is mercilessly excluded, rejected, and taken down.

Es kommt nicht zu einer Zusammenkunft, sondern zu einem Auseinanderreissen.

It does not lead to a meeting, but to a tearing apart.

Die Gesellschaft wird immer mehr auseinandergetrifftet und auseinandergerissen in verschiedenen Pole.

Society is increasingly being pulled apart and torn into different poles.

Und wir sind hier mitten.

And we are right in the middle.

Wir sind hier mitten drin als Gemeinde, die einen Herrn verkündigen, der eigentlich gesagt hat,

We are right here as a community proclaiming a Lord who actually said,

ihr sollt zusammenkommen.

You should come together.

Ihr sollt miteinander vorwärts gehen, nicht gegeneinander.

You should move forward together, not against each other.

Es gibt nur einen Ort im ganzen Universum, wo diese Annahme gelebt wird,

There is only one place in the whole universe where this assumption is lived out,

und das ist die Gemeinde Jesu, weil Jesus in der Mitte ist.

And this is the community of Jesus, because Jesus is in the center.

Da, wo jeder kommen kann und angenommen wird, weil Jesus in der Mitte ist.

Where everyone can come and be accepted, because Jesus is at the center.

Das ist das Ziel, das wäre die Aufgabe, die Gott uns gibt.

That is the goal, that would be the task that God gives us.

Und darum halten wir hoch, was Gott sagt.

And that is why we uphold what God says.

In seinem Wort.

In his word.

Was die Werte sind, die er uns weitergibt.

What are the values that he passes on to us?

Und gerade, wenn es um den Menschen geht, der von Gott geschaffen worden ist,

And especially when it comes to the human being who has been created by God,

und zwar männlich und weiblich.

both male and female.

Als Mann und als Frau.

As a man and as a woman.

Dann halten wir diese Wahrheit hoch.

Then we uphold this truth.

Und wenn die Bibel uns das sagt, dann sagt sie, dieser Mann und diese Frau, die geschaffen worden sind,

And when the Bible tells us this, it says, this man and this woman, who have been created,

die sind absolut gleichwertig.

they are absolutely equal.

Da ist nicht einer besser als der andere.

There is not one better than the other.

Keiner kann sagen, ich bin besser als der andere.

No one can say, I am better than the other.

Weil ich Frau bin oder weil ich Mann bin.

Because I am a woman or because I am a man.

In Gottes Augen sind sie absolut gleichwertig.

In God's eyes, they are absolutely equal.

Aber was Gott gemacht hat und zu seiner Schöpfung hineingelegt hat,

But what God has made and placed into His creation,

ist, dass er beiden je verschiedene Stärken gegeben hat.

is that he has given both of them different strengths.

Wir sagen dann oft so typisch Mann, typisch Frau.

We often say such typical man, typical woman.

Und manchmal sind es Stereotypen.

And sometimes they are stereotypes.

Aber manchmal ist es eben genau das, was eben da ist.

But sometimes it's exactly that, what is just there.

Und diese Stärken, die wollen wir auch leben und die dürfen wir auch leben.

And we want to embody these strengths, and we are allowed to embody them.

Denn Gott hat eines gesehen.

For God has seen one thing.

Gott hat diesen Menschen, Mann und Frau, mit einem Auftrag in diese Welt hineingesetzt.

God has placed this person, man and woman, in this world with a mission.

Nämlich mit dem Auftrag, in der Verantwortung vor ihm und gegeneinander ein gutes Leben zu führen.

Namely with the task of leading a good life in responsibility to him and to one another.

Und da kommen diese beiden Stärken zusammen.

And here these two strengths come together.

Denn da, wo ich schwach bin, wird mich meine Frau ausgleichen mit ihren Stärken.

For where I am weak, my wife will compensate with her strengths.

Und da, wo sie schwach ist, werde ich sie ausgleichen mit meinen Stärken.

And where she is weak, I will make up for it with my strengths.

Darum hat er gesagt, sie sollen eins sein.

That's why he said they should be one.

Sie sollen zusammenkommen.

They are supposed to come together.

Sie sollen nicht gegeneinander arbeiten, sondern miteinander arbeiten.

They should not work against each other, but rather work together.

Das ist der Gedanke Gottes und den wollen wir hochhalten.

That is the thought of God, and we want to uphold it.

Es ist Gottes Anliegen, dass Frauen und Männer gestärkt sind.

It is God's concern that women and men are empowered.

In ihrem Frau-Sein, in ihrem Mann-Sein.

In their womanhood, in their manhood.

Und leben in der Kraft des Geistes als biblische Frauen und als biblische Männer.

And live in the power of the Spirit as biblical women and as biblical men.

Heute ist Muttertag.

Today is Mother's Day.

Ich habe einen Witz gemacht in der Redaktionssitzung.

I made a joke in the editorial meeting.

Ich wollte auch etwas vogue sein.

I also wanted to be a little vogue.

Und ein bisschen gendermässig sein.

And be a little gender-sensitive.

Am Muttertag werde ich über einen Mann predigen.

And we will see together how God wants to help us.

Durch diese Männer und Frauen.

Wir haben seit einigen Jahren schon am Muttertag und am Vatertag jeweils das Zeugnis eines Glaubenshelden.

For several years now, we have had the testimony of a hero of faith on Mother's Day and Father's Day, respectively.

Das haben wir uns angeschaut.

We have looked at that.

Hebräer 11 ist ein wichtiges Kapitel in der Bibel.

Hebrews 11 is an important chapter in the Bible.

Es ist das Kapitel der Glaubenshelden und Heldinnen.

It is the chapter of heroes and heroines of faith.

Da werden uns Frauen und Männer gezeigt, die aufgrund ihres Glaubens von Gott gelobt werden.

There we see women and men who are praised by God because of their faith.

Von Gott angesprochen werden.

Being spoken to by God.

Männer und Frauen des Glaubens.

Men and women of faith.

Wir lesen miteinander an.

Wir sind also von einer grossen Schar von Zeugen umgeben, deren Leben uns zeigt,

Therefore, we are surrounded by a great crowd of witnesses whose lives show us,

dass es durch den Glauben möglich ist, den uns aufgetragenen Kampf zu bestehen.

that it is possible to endure the struggle assigned to us through faith.

Der Schreiber des Hebräerbriefs sagt,

The writer of the Letter to the Hebrews says,

diese Männer und Frauen, die ich euch beschrieben habe in Hebräer 11,

these men and women I have described to you in Hebrews 11,

es ist diese grosse Schar der Zeugen.

It is this large crowd of witnesses.

Sie sind Zeugen.

You are witnesses.

Zeugen dafür, dass es möglich ist, in diesem Wettlauf, in dem wir drin sind.

Witnesses that it is possible in this race we are in.

Ich habe letzten Sonntag darüber gesprochen, dass wir den Stafettenstab in der Hand haben.

I talked about it last Sunday that we have the relay baton in hand.

Dass es jetzt unsere Runde ist.

That it is now our round.

In dieser Runde haben wir diese grosse Schar von Zeugen.

In this round, we have this large group of witnesses.

Das Bild, das er uns hier vor Augen malen will, ist das Bild eines Stadions.

The picture he wants to paint for us here is the image of a stadium.

In jedem Stadion hat es verschiedene Kurven.

In every stadium, there are different stands.

Die Fankurve ist für den lokalen Club und der Gästesektor.

The fan curve is for the local club and the guest sector.

Die versuchen ihren Club anzufeuern.

They are trying to cheer on their club.

Habt ihr das auch schon gesehen?

Have you all seen that as well?

Dann rufen sie und singen Lieder und klatschen und applaudieren.

Then they call and sing songs and clap and applaud.

Was wollen sie?

What do you want?

Sie wollen, dass ihre Mannschaft gewinnt.

They want their team to win.

Darum werden sie angefeuert.

That's why they are being cheered on.

Genau das ist das Bild, das er nimmt.

That is exactly the picture he takes.

Er sagt, diese grosse Masse, diese Wolke von Zeugen soll euch anfeuern.

He says that this great mass, this cloud of witnesses should inspire you.

Ihr, die im Moment dran seid.

You, who are up next.

Ihr, die jetzt rennt.

You, who is running now.

Ihr, die auf eurer Etappe seid.

You, who are on your stage.

Ihr sollt angefeuert werden.

You should be cheered on.

Wenn ihr müde oder schlapp seid, dann schaut zu ihnen.

If you are tired or sluggish, then look to them.

Sie werden euch ermutigen.

They will encourage you.

Warum ist das wichtig?

Why is that important?

Deshalb wollen auch wir Läufer bei einem Wettkampf mit aller Ausdauer dem Ziel entgegenlaufen.

Therefore, we runners also want to run towards the finish line with all our endurance during a competition.

Es braucht Ausdauer in diesem Wettkampf.

It requires endurance in this competition.

Es braucht Ausdauer in diesem Wettkampf, in dem wir drin sind.

It requires perseverance in this competition we are in.

Es braucht Ausdauer in diesem Lauf, den Gott uns gegeben hat.

It takes endurance in this race that God has given us.

Wir wollen alles ablegen, was uns beim Laufen hindert.

We want to shed everything that hinders us from running.

Wir wollen uns von der Sünde trennen, die uns so leicht gefangen nimmt.

We want to separate ourselves from the sin that so easily ensnares us.

Wir sollen diesen Lauf bis zum Ziel mit Ausdauer laufen.

We should run this race to the finish with endurance.

Das ist ein wichtiges Wort.

That is an important word.

Ausdauer ist ein wichtiges Wort.

Endurance is an important word.

Das ist ein Begriff, der eine starke Verbindung mit Gott hat.

That is a term that has a strong connection with God.

Das ist eine Hoffnung.

That is a hope.

Ich habe eine Hoffnung.

I have a hope.

Ich weiss, was auf uns zukommt.

I know what is coming our way.

Ich weiss nicht, wann es kommt.

I don't know when it will come.

Aber ich weiss, dass es kommt.

But I know that it is coming.

Kann ich mit Ausdauer auf dieses Ziel hinlaufen?

Can I run towards this goal with perseverance?

Das werde ich nicht aufgeben.

I will not give that up.

Ich weiss, mein Gott, der mir diese Dinge gesagt hat, ist treu.

I know, my God, who has told me these things, is faithful.

Ausdauer ist eine Charakterqualität.

Perseverance is a character quality.

Eine Charakterqualität, die sich nicht von Umständen und Hindernissen abhalten wird.

A character quality that will not be deterred by circumstances and obstacles.

Sie wird nicht von einem Ziel kommen.

She will not come from a goal.

Eine Charakterqualität, die durchhält.

A character quality that perseveres.

Diese Zeugen des Glaubens sollen uns ermutigen.

These witnesses of faith should encourage us.

Es ist immer so eine Sache, wenn man eine Wolke von Zeugen sieht.

It's always a bit tricky when you see a cloud of witnesses.

Ich bleibe bei einem Fussballspiel.

I stay for a football game.

Du siehst die Fankurve.

You see the fan stand.

Du hörst sie.

You hear them.

Sie singen miteinander.

They are singing together.

Du siehst eine Masse von Leuten.

You see a crowd of people.

Ich denke mir immer, was sind das für welche?

I always wonder, who are these people?

Das wäre interessant.

That would be interesting.

Nicht die ganze Masse zu sehen.

Not seeing the whole mass.

Nicht die ganze Masse zu hören.

Not hearing the entire mass.

Sondern den Einzelnen zu sehen.

But to see the individual.

Und seine Stimme zu hören.

And to hear his voice.

Nicht im Verband mit allen anderen.

Not in association with all the others.

Sondern einfach mal IHN.

But rather simply HIM.

Genau das wollen wir heute tun.

That's exactly what we want to do today.

Wir wollen heute hinschauen und auf das Zeugnis einer Frau des Glaubens hören.

We want to look today and listen to the testimony of a woman of faith.

Stell dir vor, wir sind auf diesem Lauf.

Imagine we are on this run.

Wir rennen auf dieser Aschenbahn.

We are running on this ash track.

Jetzt kommst du in die Zielgerade.

Now you are coming into the home stretch.

Da ist diese Tribüne all dieser Glaubensheldinnen und Glaubenshelden.

There is this tribune of all these heroes and heroines of faith.

Eine dieser Glaubensheldinnen steht auf.

One of these heroines of faith stands up.

Sie kommt von der Tribüne herunter.

She is coming down from the stands.

Sie kommt uns entgegen.

She is coming to meet us.

Sie stellt sich an unsere Seite.

She stands by our side.

Sie begleitet uns für eine Runde.

She is accompanying us for a round.

Lässt uns für eine Runde ihr Herzensanliegen hören.

Let us hear her heartfelt concern for a round.

Ihr Zeugnis verstehen.

Understand your certificate.

Nicht einfach nur alle miteinander schreien.

Not just everyone yelling at each other.

Sondern diese eine Person, die uns etwas mitgeben möchte für unseren Lauf.

But this one person wants to give us something for our journey.

Eine Person, die ihren Lauf schon abgeschlossen hat.

A person who has already completed their course.

Die ihre Erlebnisse, ihre Zeugnisse, ihre Kämpfe, ihre Hindernisse, ihre Siege mit Gott gelebt hat.

Those who have lived their experiences, their testimonies, their struggles, their obstacles, their victories with God.

Und jetzt aus diesem Schatz des Reichtums, der Erfahrung uns etwas weitergeben will.

And now from this treasure of wealth, which wants to pass on some experience to us.

Die Frau, die uns heute begleitet.

Sie hat gerade einiges zum Thema Ausdauer zu sagen.

Gott hat eine Verheissung gesprochen.

Wer hat es schon erlebt?

Who has experienced it already?

Aber die scheint einfach nicht zu kommen.

But it just doesn't seem to be coming.

Du hast ein starkes Erlebnis.

You have a strong experience.

Du bist vielleicht in einem Gottesdienst während der Lobpreiszeit.

You might be in a church service during the worship time.

Gott spricht zu dir.

God speaks to you.

Vielleicht ist ein Prophet da.

Maybe there is a prophet there.

Es kommt ein prophetisches Wort.

A prophetic word is coming.

Es ist so stark.

It is so strong.

Und du merkst, es ist Gott, der jetzt zu mir spricht.

And you realize it is God who is speaking to me now.

Über deine Familie.

About your family.

Über die Kinder, die dir im Moment Sorgen machen als Mutter.

About the children who are currently worrying you as a mother.

Weil sie nicht da sind, wo du sie gerne haben möchtest.

Because they are not where you would like to have them.

Weil du merkst, in ihrem Leben gibt es Dinge, da sollten sie es anders anpacken.

Because you notice that in their life there are things that they should handle differently.

Und irgendwann kommst du als Mutter nicht mehr hin an ihre Herzen.

And at some point, you can no longer reach their hearts as a mother.

Sagst, was soll ich machen?

What should I do?

Das beschäftigt mich.

That occupies my mind.

Vielleicht geht es um deine Ehebeziehung.

Maybe it's about your marriage relationship.

Die nicht mehr so heiss ist, wie sie einmal war.

That is not as hot as it once was.

Vielleicht geht es um eine Arbeitsfrage.

Maybe it's about a work-related question.

Irgendetwas.

Something.

Gott spricht.

God speaks.

Und du bist so ermutigt.

And you are so encouraged.

Und du kommst aus dem Gottesdienst.

And you are coming from the church service.

Und du hast das Gefühl, es passiert genau das Gegenteil.

And you have the feeling that the exact opposite is happening.

Die Familiensituation wird noch schlimmer.

The family situation is getting worse.

Die Ehesituation ist noch krasser.

The marriage situation is even more extreme.

Und die Arbeitssituation auch.

And the work situation as well.

Was ist hier eigentlich los?

What's going on here, anyway?

Jetzt hat doch Gott geredet.

Now God has spoken.

Es scheint ganz anders zu sein.

It seems to be quite different.

Wie gehen wir damit um?

How do we deal with it?

Die freundliche Dame, die uns begleitet, die nicht mehr so jung ist.

The friendly lady who is accompanying us, who is no longer so young.

Ihr Name ist Sarah.

Her name is Sarah.

Wir sind heute Morgen unterwegs mit Sarah.

We are on our way with Sarah this morning.

Der Frau Abrahams.

Mrs. Abraham's.

Sie weiss, was es heisst, auf eine Verheissung zu warten.

She knows what it means to wait for a promise.

Ich nehme euch in ihre Lebenssituation hinein.

I take you into their life situation.

Wir lesen zuerst einen Text aus 1. Mose 15, ab Vers 1.

Das ist bis jetzt schon ein paar Mal geschehen.

Jetzt geschieht etwas ganz Neues.

Now something entirely new is happening.

Vers 2 ist das allererste Mal, dass Abraham eine Antwort gibt.

Verse 2 is the very first time that Abraham provides an answer.

Er hat übrigens noch nicht mit Gott gesprochen.

By the way, he hasn't spoken to God yet.

Alles, was wir bis jetzt haben, ist, dass Gott spricht und Abraham macht.

All we have so far is that God speaks and Abraham acts.

Jetzt redet der Herr zum ersten Mal.

Now the Lord speaks for the first time.

Abraham erwiderte.

Abraham replied.

Herr, mein Gott, was nützt mir deine Gaben?

Lord, my God, what good are your gifts to me?

Ich werde kinderlos sterben.

I will die childless.

Meine ganzen Besitz erbt mein Verwalter, Eliezer von Damaskus.

My entire estate is inherited by my steward, Eliezer of Damascus.

Abraham fuhr fort.

Abraham continued.

Du weisst doch, dass ich keine Kinder habe.

You know that I don't have any children.

Du selbst hast sie mir versagt.

You yourself have denied them to me.

Mein Verwalter wird einmal alles bekommen.

My administrator will eventually get everything.

Jetzt legt der Herr sein Herz hier ganz offen vor Gott.

Now the Lord lays His heart completely open before God here.

Er sagt, okay, Herr, toll.

He says, okay, sir, great.

Du gibst mir Geschenke.

You give me gifts.

Du willst mich beschützen.

You want to protect me.

Tolle Sache.

Great thing.

Was mich echt bewegt ist, dass ich keine Kinder habe.

What really moves me is that I don't have any children.

Ich muss alles diesem Knecht geben.

I have to give everything to this servant.

Das war damals Usus.

That was the norm back then.

Das war ein Hausknecht, der einen guten Dienst in einer kinderlosen Familie machte.

That was a manservant who provided good service in a childless family.

Er wurde als Erbe des Hauses eingesetzt.

He was appointed as the heir of the house.

Er sagt, das beschäftigt mich.

He says that worries me.

Wir werden später sehen, nicht nur ihn, sondern auch seine Frau.

We will see not only him but also his wife later.

Jetzt sagt Gott etwas.

Now God is saying something.

Vers 4.

Verse 4.

Nein, entgegnete der Herr.

"No," replied the gentleman.

Nicht Eliezer wird dich beheben.

Not Eliezer will correct you.

Du wirst deinen Sohn bekommen.

You will have your son.

Der wird dein Erbe sein.

He will be your heir.

Es wird kommen.

It will come.

Abraham, es wird kommen.

Abraham, it will come.

Jetzt wird er sagen, yes, amen.

Now he will say, yes, amen.

Warum hat er Mühe gehabt?

Why did he have trouble?

Weil er alt war.

Because he was old.

Und seine Frau auch.

And his wife too.

Wir werden das gleich noch sehen.

We will see that shortly.

Jetzt macht Gott etwas Interessantes.

Now God is doing something interesting.

Dann führte Abraham aus dem Zelt und sagte, sieh hinauf zum Himmel und betrachte die Sterne.

Then Abraham led him out of the tent and said, look up at the sky and count the stars.

Kannst du sie zählen?

Can you count them?

So unzählbar werden deine Nachkommen sein.

So countless will your descendants be.

Es wird eine unzählbare Schar sein.

It will be an innumerable multitude.

Ich gebe dir eine riesengrosse Verheissung.

I give you a huge promise.

Sarah, die an unserer Seite ist und mit uns mitläuft, sie schaut uns an.

Sarah, who is by our side and walking with us, is looking at us.

Mit ihren freundlichen Augen, mit ihren erfahrenen Augen.

With her friendly eyes, with her experienced eyes.

Und wir wissen, was sie uns sagt.

And we know what she is telling us.

Ihre Lebenslektion, die wir jetzt hören werden,

Your life lesson that we will hear now,

kommt aus einer tiefen Erfahrung mit dem Herrn über viele, viele Jahre.

comes from a profound experience with the Lord over many, many years.

Und sie sagt uns, schau mal, es gibt Zeiten, in denen kannst du Gottes Wirken nicht verstehen.

And she tells us, look, there are times when you cannot understand God's workings.

Du hast das Wort gehört.

You have heard the word.

Du verstehst das Wirken nicht.

You do not understand the workings.

Und in diesen Zeiten wird es vorkommen, dass die Ungeduld sich bahnbricht.

And in these times, it will happen that impatience breaks through.

Du wirst ungeduldig werden.

You will become impatient.

Und sie schaut uns an und sagt, schau mal.

And she looks at us and says, look.

Dein Moment der Ungeduld kann etwas hervorbringen, das du ein Leben lang bedauern wirst.

Your moment of impatience can bring about something that you will regret for a lifetime.

Ein Moment der Ungeduld und deine Reaktion kann etwas hervorbringen, das du ein Leben lang bedauern wirst.

A moment of impatience and your reaction can produce something you will regret for a lifetime.

Denn wenn Ungeduld sich bahnbricht, dann sind wir in der Gefahr, die Dinge selber in die Hand zu nehmen.

For when impatience breaks through, we are in danger of taking matters into our own hands.

Gott zu helfen bei der Erfüllung seiner Verheissung.

To help God fulfill His promise.

Und das, sagt uns Sarah, kommt nicht gut.

And that, Sarah tells us, is not good.

Es kommt nicht gut.

It's not going well.

Und ich gebe euch meine Lebenslektion, sagt sie uns.

And I give you my life lesson, she tells us.

Und meine Lebenslektion ist folgende.

And my life lesson is the following.

Verkompliziere die Verheissung Gottes nicht mit deinen menschlichen Lösungsversuchen.

Don't complicate God's promise with your human attempts at solutions.

Und sie ist ganz ehrlich mit uns. Schaut sie euch mal an.

And she's being totally honest with us. Just take a look at her.

Sie hat so ganz eine ehrliche Haut.

She is really quite an honest person.

Sie sagt, weisst du, die Wurzel meiner Ungeduld war mein Unglaube.

She says, you know, the root of my impatience was my disbelief.

Ich habe Gott nicht vertraut.

I did not trust God.

Ich habe sein Wort schon gehört.

I have already heard his word.

Ich habe schon gewusst, dass er grosse Dinge tun kann,

I already knew that he could do great things,

aber in diesem Moment habe ich ihm nicht geglaubt und ihm nicht zugetraut,

but in that moment I didn't believe him and didn't trust him,

dass er den Unterschied machen kann.

that he can make the difference.

Und darum ist das Erste, was ich dir zurufen möchte heute Morgen,

And that is why the first thing I want to shout to you this morning,

vertraue Gott.

Und ich weiss, und Sarah weiss es, das tönt so einfach und banal.

And I know, and Sarah knows it, that sounds so simple and mundane.

Also fast erwarten, dass du das hörst in einem Gottesdienst, oder?

You almost expect to hear that in a church service, right?

Wir wollen ja ermutigen, auf Gott zu vertrauen.

We want to encourage trusting in God.

Und es tönt so einfach und es ist so schwierig in vielen Lebensumständen.

And it sounds so simple and it is so difficult in many life circumstances.

Und ich möchte drei Dinge zeigen, die wir im Leben von Sarah sehen

And I want to show three things that we see in Sarah's life.

und die sie uns eigentlich zuruft.

and which she actually shouts to us.

Sie sagt, hey, vertraue ihm, auch wenn es lange dauert,

She says, hey, trust him, even if it takes a long time.

until the promise is fulfilled.

Ich möchte hier einfach darauf hinweisen,

zwischen Kapitel 15 und Kapitel 16 liegen etwa 10 Jahre.

Seit dem Aussprechen der Verheissung und dem, was wir jetzt lesen, 10 Jahre.

Abrahams Frau Sarai war kinderlos geblieben.

And one day she said to Abraham, the Lord has withheld children from me.

You start to see certain things.

He said they have denied me.

Sarah war damals etwa 77 Jahre alt.

Sarah was around 77 years old at that time.

She knew it was probably seen naturally.

Abraham hörte auf seine Frau.

das ist ja eine schlimme Sache,

möchte ich zwei Dinge hier erwähnen.

Wenn die Frau nicht schwanger werden konnte,

und sie hatte eine Sklavin,

dann hat sie den Mann zu ihr geschickt,

then she sent the man to her,

and then the slave gave birth on her lap.

Und das Kind war ihr.

And the child was hers.

Everything runs beautifully according to plan.

Vergiss es, das wird nicht gehen.

Forget it, that's not going to work.

Du kannst nicht als Christ ein normales Leben führen.

You cannot live a normal life as a Christian.

Was die Menschen als weise sehen, als clever, als gut.

Wir müssen uns wieder neu herausfordern lassen.

Wir wollen ja nicht auffallen.

We don't want to stand out.

Natürlich glauben wir an Jesus.

Natürlich wollen wir dem Herrn nachfallen.

Aber schön, schön gesittert und schön in diesen Normen drin.

Why does she think she is too old to have a child?

Is anything impossible for the Lord?

So oft beleidige ich den Herrn mit meinem Normal.

Weil ich ihn nämlich auf meine Stufe hinabziehe.

Because I am dragging him down to my level.

Und ganz logisch überlege, was ist machbar, was nicht.

And quite logically consider what is feasible and what is not.

Und ich beleidige ihn, weil er sagt, ist mir denn etwas unmöglich?

And I insult him because he says, is anything impossible for me?

Ist mir denn etwas unmöglich?

Is something impossible for me?

Kann ich denn die Dinge nicht tun?

Can't I do the things?

Kann ich denn nicht das Unmögliche tun?

Can I not do the impossible?

Und Sarah sagt uns,

And Sarah tells us,

Hey, vertraue diesem Gott, vertraue diesem Gott, vertraue ihm, auch dann, wenn es lang dauert,

Hey, trust this God, trust this God, trust Him, even when it takes a long time,

wenn es lange Zeit braucht und auch dann, wenn es dir lächerlich und unmöglich erscheint.

Und ganz ehrlich, Leute, ganz ehrlich, wie oft sitzen wir im Gottesdienst, hören Gottes Wort,

She says, hey, now you're ninety and now you want to be ninety, you should have just been a mother.

Auch hier wieder mal zu diesen frommen Bildern, die wir manchmal haben.

ich glaube, die sind vor allem gesponsert von unserem Feind.

Weil sie uns nämlich ein Bild vor Augen malen wollen,

Because they want to paint a picture for us.

Nie einen Fehler gemacht haben.

Gott hat es gehört.

Und diese Frau steht in der Galerie der Glaubenshelden.

And this woman stands in the gallery of heroes of faith.

Gott hat sie doch nicht rausgenommen.

God didn't take her out.

Die waren nicht perfekt.

They were not perfect.

Hebräer 11, Vers 11.

Hebrews 11:11.

Aufgrund des Glaubens empfing Sarah die Kraft,

By faith, Sarah received the strength,

trotz ihres Alters noch Mutter zu werden.

to become a mother despite her age.

Er steht treu zu seinem Wort.

He stands faithfully by his word.

Und vielleicht ist es heute Morgen dran,

dass du eine Entscheidung hast.

that you have a decision.

Und du sagst, hey, ich komme aus meinem Normal,

And you say, hey, I come out of my normal,

das ich mir zurechtgebogen habe, raus.

And go back to your normal.

Und vertraue dir.

Gott sagt, es würde noch besser gehen
