Einander lieben

Als Treffung-Leben-Gemeinde ist es unser allergrößter Wunsch, dass Gott Freude an uns hat, wenn wir zusammenkommen.

As a Treffung-Leben community, our greatest wish is that God takes pleasure in us when we come together.

Dass er seine Kinder sieht, wie sie zusammenkommen und einfach innerlich jubelt und sagt, hey, das sind meine Kids.

That he sees his children coming together, simply rejoicing inside and saying, hey, those are my kids.

Boah, sind die nicht cool.

Wow, aren't they cool?

Herr, die Treffung-Leben-Gemeinde in Erkrad und all die wunderbaren Menschen, die dazukommen, ich liebe sie, ich freue mich so über sie.

Lord, the Treffung-Leben community in Erkrad and all the wonderful people who come there, I love them, I am so happy about them.

Das ist unser größter Wunsch, dass das passiert, dass Gott Freude an uns hat.

That is our greatest wish, that this happens, that God takes joy in us.

Aber genau so wünschen wir uns, dass das, was du hier erlebst, eine tiefe Begegnung mit Gott ist.

But just like that, we wish for what you experience here to be a deep encounter with God.

Dass du hier reinkommst und nicht der gleiche bist, der hier rausgeht, als der, der du warst, als du hier reingekommen bist.

That you come in here and are not the same person who goes out as the one you were when you came in.

Dass Gott dir hier begegnet und dich verändert.

That God meets you here and transforms you.

Das ist unser zweiter größter Wunsch und der Grund, warum es uns gibt und warum wir gemeinsam zusammenkommen, um Gottesdienste zu feiern, in Gemeinschaft, in der Einheit.

This is our second greatest wish and the reason why we exist and why we come together to celebrate services, in community, in unity.

Und was uns unterscheidet von irgendeinem anderen?

And what distinguishes us from anyone else?

Wenn andere zusammenkommen, irgendeine Comedy-Show, irgendeine Fußball-Veranstaltung, irgendwas, wo wir Leute zusammenkommen,

When others come together, some comedy show, some football event, anything where we bring people together,

dann hat Gott einen Maßstab gesetzt.

Then God has set a benchmark.

Das ist das, was euch von all den anderen Zusammenkünften, die ihr als Menschen so untereinander habt, unterscheiden soll.

This is what should distinguish you from all the other gatherings you have as humans among each other.

Dass so eine Sache, die muss so prägnant sein, die muss so klar hervorstechen,

Such a thing needs to be so concise, it needs to stand out so clearly,

dass jeder, der dazukommt, etwas sehen kann, was einzigartig und absolut wertvoll ist.

that everyone who joins can see something that is unique and absolutely valuable.

Und das hat Jesus rausgehauen in Johannes 13.

And Jesus threw that out in John 13.

Und ich möchte euch das gerne vorlesen.

And I would like to read this to you.

Sagt Jesus selbst, und das ist etwas, was ganz besonders ist.

Jesus himself says, and that is something very special.

So gebe ich euch nun ein neues Gebot.

So I give you a new commandment.

Liebt einander, so wie ich euch geliebt habe, sollt auch ihr einander lieben.

Love one another, just as I have loved you, so you must also love one another.

Ich weiß, die einen oder anderen kriegen jetzt Panik, jetzt kommt so eine romantische Predigt und schnulzi, schnulzi und piep, piep, piep.

I know some people are going to panic now, here comes a romantic sermon and mushy, mushy and beep, beep, beep.

Und wir haben uns alle lieb.

And we all love each other.

Aber warum ist Jesus das so, so wichtig?

But why is this so, so important to Jesus?

Warum ist das so entscheidend?

Why is that so crucial?

Weil er sagt, hey, an eurer Liebe zueinander werden alle erkennen, dass ihr meine Jünger seid.

Because he says, hey, everyone will recognize that you are my disciples by your love for one another.

Warum ist das so besonders?

Why is that so special?

Jesus hat eigentlich gesagt, ey Friends, das Gesetz, die Gebote sind alle schon da.

Jesus actually said, hey friends, the law, the commandments are all already there.

Und ich bin hierher gekommen, um sie zu erfüllen.

And I have come here to fulfill them.

Und ich werde nichts von dem wegnehmen, was da ist.

And I will take nothing away from what is there.

Und trotzdem sagt Jesus an dieser Stelle, ich gebe euch jetzt was Neues.

And yet Jesus says at this point, I am giving you something new.

Liebt einander.

Love one another.

Und jeder, der so ein bisschen in Kirche unterwegs ist, der seine Bibel ein bisschen kennt, weiß, hä, so neu ist das doch gar nicht.

And anyone who is a little bit involved in the church or knows their Bible a bit knows that this is not really that new.

Als Jesus gefragt worden ist, was ist das wichtigste, wertvollste Gebot, hat Jesus gesagt, hey, liebe Gott und liebe deinen Nächsten wie dich selbst.

When Jesus was asked what is the most important, valuable commandment, he said, hey, love God and love your neighbor as yourself.

Das ist ein Gebot, das habt ihr schon seit 5000 Jahren und das gilt immer noch.

That is a commandment, which you have had for 5000 years and it is still valid.

Wo ist das Neue?

Where is the new?

Was ist anders?

What is different?

Das, was sich verändert hat, als Jesus das gesagt hat, ist der Maßstab.

What has changed when Jesus said that is the standard.

In dem, was bisher galt, hieß es, liebe deinen Nächsten wie dich selbst.

In what has been valid so far, it was said, love your neighbor as yourself.

Ich weiß nicht, wie sehr du dich selbst liebst, aber dann hast du so einen Maßstab, so, hey, in dem Maße, wie ich mich selbst liebe, das, was ich mir wünsche, da kommt die goldene Regel her, das, was du willst, dass andere dir tun, das tue auch ihnen.

I don't know how much you love yourself, but then you have a benchmark, like, hey, to the extent that I love myself, what I desire, that's where the golden rule comes from: treat others as you want them to treat you.

So, da hast du diesen Maßstab.

So, there you have this scale.

Der Maßstab in dem Punkt bist du.

You are the measure in that regard.

Jesus sagt, ich gebe euch was Neues.

Jesus says, I am giving you something new.

Ich bin der Maßstab.

I am the standard.

So wie ich euch geliebt habe, so sollt ihr einander lieben.

Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.

Das ist ein big deal.

That's a big deal.

Das ist ein Riesenunterschied, weil jetzt ist es quasi nicht mehr bei mir, meine Standards, meine Empfindungen, sondern jetzt liegt der Standard bei Jesus.

That's a huge difference, because now it's not really about me anymore, my standards, my feelings, but now the standard is with Jesus.

Und Jesus sagt, Friends, das ist das, was ich mir von euch wünsche, und zwar als ein Gebot.

And Jesus says, Friends, this is what I wish from you, and it is a commandment.

Das ist etwas überfordernd.

That is a bit overwhelming.

Wir sind nicht Jesus, du bist nicht Jesus.

We are not Jesus, you are not Jesus.

Aber Jesus sagt, hey, das ist der Maßstab.

But Jesus says, hey, this is the standard.

So wie ich euch geliebt habe, sollt ihr einander lieben, und dann wird die Welt erkennen, dass ihr meine Jünger seid, dass ihr meine Kinder seid.

Just as I have loved you, you shall love one another, and then the world will recognize that you are my disciples, that you are my children.

Und das Ergebnis wird sein, dass sie sich nach dieser Liebe Gottes und nach dieser Gemeinschaft ausstrecken und Teil davon sein sollen.

And the result will be that they should reach out for this love of God and for this community and become a part of it.

Teil dieses Miteinanders werden wollen.

Want to be part of this togetherness.

Jesus war es vereinfacht gesagt, zu wenig zu sagen, hey, tu einfach dem anderen nichts Schlechtes.

Simply put, Jesus said it was too little to just say, "Hey, don't do anything bad to others."

Rede einfach dem anderen.

Just talk to the other person.

Rede einfach nicht schlecht über ihn und helfe ihm mal ein bisschen, wenn er Hilfe braucht.

Just don't speak badly about him and help him a little when he needs help.

Sondern ihr sollt einander so lieben, wie ich euch geliebt habe.

But you should love one another as I have loved you.

Und in dieser Stelle in der Bibel steht Liebe.

And in this passage in the Bible, it says love.

Und für uns ist Liebe Liebe.

And for us, love is love.

Und Liebe hat bei uns so viele Facetten, dass es für uns immer schwierig ist, diesen Begriff zu füllen, weil der kann alles heißen.

And love has so many facets for us that it is always difficult to define this term, because it can mean everything.

Ich liebe Pizza, ich liebe Dortmund, ich liebe dies, das, jenes.

I love pizza, I love Dortmund, I love this, that, and the other.

Ich liebe so viele Dinge.

I love so many things.

Aber was steht hier?

But what is written here?

Und es gibt so drei, es gibt im Griechischen noch viel mehr Worte für Liebe, aber drei, die ganz besonders hervorstechen.

And there are three, there are many more words for love in Greek, but three that stand out particularly.

Und das ist einmal so Eros.

And that is Eros, just like that.

Das ist die Erotik, diese Leidenschaft, diese Anziehungskraft, dieses Verzehren, dieses Sehnen, dieses ich liebe meine Frau.

This is the eroticism, this passion, this attraction, this consuming, this longing, this I love my wife.

Und das gehört dann alles schön in die Ehe.

And all of this nicely belongs in marriage.

Und da wisst ihr selber, was dann bei euch abgeht.

And you know for yourselves what then happens with you.

Das ist der Eros.

That is the Eros.

Und das ist gut.

And that is good.

Und das hat Gott geschenkt.

And that is a gift from God.

Das hat Gott geschaffen.

God created that.

Und das ist nichts Komisches, nichts Peinliches.

And that is nothing funny, nothing embarrassing.

Gott hat gesagt, hier, ich gebe euch einen schönen Rahmen und dann hau raus.

God said, here, I give you a nice frame and then go for it.

Dann genieß das.

Then enjoy that.

Feier das.

Celebrate that.

Und dann gibt es Philia.

And then there is Philia.

Das ist so dieses Blutsbruder.

That's like this blood brother thing.

Winnetou, Chatterhand.

Winnetou, Chatterhand.

Mein Bruder, ich liebe dich.

My brother, I love you.

Ja, das ist nichts Komisches, das ist einfach so was Echtes.

Yes, that's nothing strange; it's just something real.

Das ist so wie Brüder, wir gehören zusammen.

It's like brothers, we belong together.

Da geht kein Blatt dazwischen.

No leaf can fit between that.

Das ist aber etwas Gegenseitiges, das ist etwas, ich bin dir treu, ich vertraue dir, wir sind auf Gegenseitigkeit angelegt, ja, du tust mir was Gutes, ich tue dir was Gutes.

But that's something mutual, that's something, I am loyal to you, I trust you, we are based on reciprocity, yes, you do something good for me, I do something good for you.

Wir sind unzerbrüchlich in unserer Freundschaft, die maximal tragfähig ist und das ist so gut und so wertvoll.

We are unbreakable in our friendship, which is maximally supportive, and that is so good and so valuable.

Aber stell dir mal vor, guck dich mal um, das wäre jetzt der Maßstab, hey, sag mal best friends forever hier mit allen, das ist super schwer.

But just imagine, take a look around, this would be the standard, hey, say best friends forever here with everyone, that's super hard.

Und eine Überforderung.

And an overload.

Vielleicht sagt da einer, jippie, endlich.

Maybe someone will say, yay, finally.

Aber das ist nicht das, was da steht, sondern das Wort, was da steht, ist Agape.

But that is not what is written there; rather, the word that is written there is Agape.

Und Agape ist eine Liebe, die bedingungslos ist, die voller Opferbereitschaft und Hingabe ist, die nicht nach dem fragt, hey, was hast du für mich getan, dann kann ich auch was für dich tun.

And agape is a love that is unconditional, that is full of self-sacrifice and dedication, that does not ask, hey, what have you done for me, then I can do something for you.

Die nicht darauf ausgelegt ist, dass wir erstmal den ganzen Weg miteinander gehen müssen, eine Beziehung aufgebaut haben, sondern die einfach da ist.

That is not designed for us to have to walk the whole path together first, to have built a relationship, but is simply there.

Bedingungslos, hingegeben.

Unconditionally, devoted.

Opferbereit, so wie Jesus es war und das ist das, wofür Agape steht.

Willing to sacrifice, just like Jesus was, and that is what Agape stands for.

Und wenn du dir die Texte anschaust in der Bibel, wo es darum geht, liebt einander, ich habe euch zuerst geliebt und so weiter, es geht immer um Agape.

And when you look at the texts in the Bible where it says to love one another, I have loved you first, and so on, it is always about agape.

Es geht nicht um dieses Gefühl best friends forever, sondern es geht darum, eine Liebe einander zu geben, die dem entspricht, was Jesus uns gegeben hat, ohne vorher zu fragen.

It's not about the feeling of best friends forever, but rather about giving each other a love that corresponds to what Jesus has given us, without asking first.

Er hat uns zuerst geliebt, da kannten wir ihn noch gar nicht.

He loved us first, even when we didn't know him at all.

Da fanden wir ihn vielleicht sogar.

There we might even find him.

Er war noch richtig doof.

He was still really dumb.

Da hat er uns schon zuerst geliebt.

There he loved us first.

Aber das ist doch so, so schwer.

But it is so, so difficult.

Wie soll man das denn schaffen?

How is one supposed to achieve that?

Wie sollen wir das miteinander leben?

How are we supposed to live with this together?

Und ich bin so froh, dass du eine ganze Woche Zeit hast, das rauszufinden.

And I am so glad that you have a whole week to figure it out.

Ihr habt eure Livegroups, wir haben 500 Leute fast in Livegroups, das ist so großartig und ihr seid dann unterwegs und ihr habt daran viel Zeit.

You have your live groups, we have 500 people almost in live groups, that's so great, and you're out there and you have a lot of time for it.

Ich habe nur ein paar Minuten, deswegen verzeiht mir, wenn ich mich ein bisschen fokussiere, ich kann unmöglich alles mit reinnehmen.

I only have a few minutes, so forgive me if I focus a bit; I can’t possibly include everything.

Aber ich möchte dir trotzdem drei Dinge mitgeben, die mir super wichtig sind.

But I still want to share three things with you that are very important to me.

Wie können wir diese Liebe so leben oder was können wir tun, damit wir diese Liebe einander weitergeben können und auf diese Art und Weise miteinander umgehen können?

How can we live this love in such a way, or what can we do to pass this love on to each other and interact with each other in this way?

Mach mal ganz kurz die Augen zu und stell dich mal ganz kurz zurück an den Anfang des Tages.

Close your eyes for a moment and briefly take yourself back to the beginning of the day.

Du stehst vor dem Spiegel.

You are standing in front of the mirror.

Und jetzt schau dir selbst mal ins Gesicht.

And now take a look at your own face.

Schau dir mal in die Augen.

Look into your eyes.

Und jetzt guck mal, ob du diesen Satz, den ich dir jetzt vorsage, über die Lippen bringst.

And now see if you can say this sentence that I am about to say to you.

Ich bin wertvoll und geliebt.

I am valuable and loved.

Kannst du das sagen?

Can you say that?

Kannst du deinem Spiegelbild in die Augen schauen und sagen, ich bin wertvoll und geliebt?

Can you look into your reflection's eyes and say, I am valuable and loved?

Und wenn du das nicht kannst, dann ist das schwierig, andere zu lieben.

And if you can't do that, then it's difficult to love others.

Denn um andere lieben zu können, ist es schwierig, andere zu lieben.

For it is difficult to love others in order to be able to love others.

Um einander lieben zu können, müssen wir aus einer Identität kommen, wo wir wissen, dass wir wertvoll und geliebt sind.

In order to be able to love each other, we must come from an identity where we know that we are valuable and loved.

Weil wie soll ich jemanden anderen lieben?

Because how am I supposed to love someone else?

Wie soll ich ihn bedingungslos annehmen?

How am I supposed to accept him unconditionally?

Wie soll ich mich für ihn aufopfern?

How am I supposed to sacrifice myself for him?

Mein Bestes geben, wenn ich selber gar nicht weiß, dass ich wertvoll und geliebt bin.

Giving my best when I don't even know that I am valuable and loved.

Um einander lieben zu können, um in dieses Miteinander wirklich hineinzukommen, muss ich aus einer Identität leben, wo ich weiß, ich bin wertvoll und geliebt.

In order to love one another, to truly enter into this togetherness, I must live from an identity where I know I am valuable and loved.

In order to be able to love each other, I must live from an identity where I know I am valuable and loved.

Viele hätten sich gewünscht, dass ich frage, du siehst gut aus, du kriegst es hin, du bist der Hammer.

Many would have liked me to ask, "You look good, you can do it, you’re awesome."

Aber ich bin wertvoll und geliebt.

But I am valuable and loved.

Was passiert, wenn ich das nicht bin?

What happens if I am not that?

Wenn ich das nicht über mich selbst sagen kann, wenn ich das nicht weiß?

If I can't say that about myself, if I don't know that?

Dann fange ich nämlich an, ich will gefallen.

Then I start, I want to please.

Ich mache die Dinge nicht aus dieser Agape Liebe heraus für den anderen.

I do not do things out of this agape love for the other.

Ich liebe ihn nicht so, wie er ist.

I don't love him the way he is.

Ich mache das, damit er mich gut findet, damit er mich super, damit ich Applaus bekomme, damit ich Respekt und Anerkennung bekomme.

I do this so that he thinks I am good, so that he thinks I am great, so that I get applause, so that I get respect and recognition.

Das ist doch oft ganz, ganz unten drunter unser Antrieb, wenn ich nicht aus dieser Identität lebe, ich bin wertvoll und geliebt.

That is often, deep down, our drive when I don’t live from this identity, I am valuable and loved.

Und wenn ich anfange zu gefallen, dann passiert es manchmal, dass ich Applaus kriege und das fühlt sich gut an und dann mache ich weiter.

And when I start to please, it sometimes happens that I get applause and that feels good, so I keep going.

Und dann merke ich, hey, ich habe jetzt drei Wochen mein Bestes gegeben und wo ist der Applaus? Wo ist der Respekt? Wo ist die Anerkennung?

And then I realize, hey, I've given my best for three weeks now and where is the applause? Where is the respect? Where is the recognition?

Ich werde nicht gesehen. Ich fühle mich müde. Ich fühle mich ausgelaugt.

I am not seen. I feel tired. I feel drained.

Und auf einmal kommen so Dinge in mein Leben rein und ich merke, hey, es verletzt mich. Die feiern mich ja gar nicht.

And suddenly, things come into my life, and I realize, hey, it hurts me. They don't celebrate me at all.

Das passiert, wenn ich nicht diese Grundsicherheit in mir habe.

That happens when I don't have this basic security within me.

Ich bin wertvoll und geliebt. Unabhängig von dem, wie mich die anderen abfeiern, was gerade passiert, ob es gesehen wird oder nicht.

I am valuable and loved. Regardless of how others celebrate me, what is happening, whether it is seen or not.

By the way, wir wollen unbedingt, dass wir einander sehen, wertschätzen. Wir wollen Weltmeister darin werden.

By the way, we definitely want to see and appreciate each other. We want to become world champions at it.

Wir wollen die Besten darin werden, zu sehen und wahrzunehmen, was der andere gibt, wie er sein Bestes gibt, seine Leidenschaft hineinlegt.

We want to become the best at seeing and perceiving what the other gives, how they give their best, and put their passion into it.

Wir wollen das feiern. Wir wollen das anerkennen. Wir wollen das ehren.

We want to celebrate that. We want to acknowledge that. We want to honor that.

Aber nicht, damit du das Gefühl hast, zu gefallen.

But not so that you feel the need to please.

Sondern einfach, weil du wertvoll bist.

But simply because you are valuable.

Unabhängig davon, was du gerade an Grandiosem geleistet hast, dass du der Beste bist.

Regardless of what you have just accomplished grandly, you are the best.

Sondern ich will sehen, du hast dein Bestes gegeben. Ich will es wahrnehmen. Ich will es dir sagen. Ich will dich ermutigen.

But I want to see that you've given your best. I want to acknowledge it. I want to tell you. I want to encourage you.

Das ist etwas ganz anderes.

That's something completely different.

In 1. Johannes 4, Vers 7 sagt Johannes etwas.

In 1 John 4, verse 7, John says something.

Meine Freunde, wir wollen einander lieben.

My friends, we want to love one another.

Wir wollen Agape füreinander haben.

We want to have agape for one another.

Denn die Liebe, und das ist der Hammer, hat ihren Ursprung in Gott.

For love, and that’s the thing, has its origin in God.

Und wer liebt, ist aus Gott geboren und kennt Gott.

And whoever loves is born of God and knows God.

Mit anderen Worten, du kannst nur lieben, wenn du Gott kennst.

In other words, you can only love if you know God.

Und wenn du aus ihm geboren bist, wenn du ein Teil, wenn seine Identität, sein Lebensatem, sein Geist dich erfüllt, dann kannst du lieben.

And when you are born from him, when you are a part, when his identity, his breath of life, his spirit fills you, then you can love.

Denn er ist der Ursprung.

For he is the origin.

Und er ist die Quelle.

And he is the source.

Und wenn du eine andere Quelle suchst, als das, dass du zur Quelle gehst, die in Gott ist, hast du verloren.

And if you seek another source than the one that goes to the source that is in God, you have lost.

Deine Identität wird sehr auf tönenden Füßen stehen.

Your identity will stand on very ringing feet.

Und Liebe wird für dich eine maximale Herausforderung.

And love will be a maximum challenge for you.

Aber der Vers geht noch weiter.

But the verse goes on.

Da steht hier, wer nicht liebt, hat Gott nicht erkannt.

It says here, whoever does not love has not known God.

Und wenn du nicht in dir etwas spürst, du sagst, hey, klar, ich bin Mensch.

And if you don't feel something within you, you say, hey, of course, I am human.

Ja, ich bin Mensch.

Yes, I am human.

Frag mal Bettina, wie oft ich es nicht zu Hause hinkriege, liebevoll zu sein.

Ask Bettina how often I struggle to be loving at home.

Mit ihr, mit den Kindern und vielleicht auch mit dir.

With her, with the children, and maybe with you too.

Aber trotzdem ist da eine Grundliebe.

But still, there is a fundamental love.

Aber wenn du das nicht hast, wenn du das nicht spürst,

But if you don't have that, if you don't feel that,

sag hey, dann musst du vielleicht erst mal diese Quelle kennenlernen, aus der diese Liebe wächst.

Say hey, then maybe you first need to get to know this source from which this love grows.

Und dann wirklich kommst.

And then you really come.

Denn Gott ist Liebe.

For God is love.

Du wirst dich lieben können, wenn du Gott nicht kennst und an dieser Quelle dran bist.

You will be able to love yourself if you don't know God and are connected to this source.

Einander zu lieben, kommt aus einem dankbaren Herzen.

To love one another comes from a grateful heart.

Kann ich gönnen können?

Can I allow myself to indulge?

Ich stelle dir jetzt mal ein paar Fragen.

I'm going to ask you a few questions now.

Und das eine oder andere wird für dich kein Problem sein.

And one thing or another will be no problem for you.

Und das eine oder andere wird dich vielleicht pieksen.

And one thing or another might prick you.

Kann ich dem anderen gönnen, dass er geheilt worden ist,

Can I be glad for the other person that they have been healed?

obwohl ich schon so lange dafür bete, dass ich geheilt werde?

although I have been praying for so long to be healed?

Kann ich den anderen wirklich mich dafür freuen,

Can I really be happy for the others because of that?

dass er einen tollen nächsten Karriereschritt im Job gemacht hat,

that he has made a great next career move at work,

dass er befördert worden ist, mehr Kohle hat und alles.

that he has been promoted, has more money, and everything.

Kann ich das feiern?

Can I celebrate this?

Oder gucke ich auf mein eigenes Leben und bin froh,

Or do I look at my own life and feel happy,

aber frustriert darüber, dass es da nicht so super läuft?

but frustrated that things aren't going so great there?

Kann ich es feiern, wenn andere offensichtlich mehr Aufmerksamkeit bekommen als ich?

Can I celebrate it when others obviously receive more attention than I do?

Kann ich mich dafür freuen für den anderen?

Can I look forward to it for the other?

Kann ich sagen, hey, mega, ja, du hast es auch absolut verdient, du bist es wert, ich feier das.

Can I say, hey, mega, yes, you absolutely deserve it, you are worth it, I celebrate that.

Wie ist es, wenn jemand sich ein Haus kaufen kann, was du dir eigentlich schon seit 15 Jahren wünschst,

How does it feel when someone can buy a house that you have actually wished for for 15 years?

wo du suchst und weißt, schwierig.
