それでこの授業でも日本関係は私が抗議なり担当することになっております

最初から純粋に理論を学ぼうと思って音楽学校に入ったのではなくて

I didn't enter music school purely to learn theory from the beginning.

最初はピアノが好きでその延長でとにかく学びたいという一心で

At first, I liked the piano and was simply eager to learn as much as I could from there.

ピアノを専攻しておりました

I was majoring in piano.

私は高校時代から理論的に

I have been theoretical since high school.

素敵な研究をしたいと思って大学に入ったら結構演奏さされるので

I entered university wanting to do wonderful research, but I ended up being made to perform quite a bit.

オペラやったりだとか大学院に入ってオペラやって

I did opera and then entered graduate school to do opera.

的なんかをやってですねパパ芸能をやったりとかですね

I've done things like participating in events and doing entertainment work, you know.

演奏もずっとやってきたんですけども

I've been playing music for a long time as well.

田崎先生の場合は修士までちゃんときちっと修了演奏をされですね

In the case of Professor Tazaki, he properly completed his graduation performance up to the master's degree.

ドクターで音楽理論的研究ですよね

It's a doctoral research on music theory, right?

それのどうしてそういうふうな関心に行ったかというのは

先ほどありましたように私大学院博士課程に進みまして

As I mentioned earlier, I am advancing to the doctoral program in graduate school.

音楽学という分野を専攻しました

I majored in the field of musicology.

どうしてそっちに変わったのとよく聞かれるのですが

I often get asked why I changed to that side.

私の中では全く何の違和感もなかったんですね

I didn't feel any discomfort at all inside me.

やっぱり自分の中では好きな音楽を突き詰める追求するというのが

After all, for me, pursuing and delving deep into the music I love is...

すごく好きな人間です

ピアノでしたらピアノでなくてもいいんですけど

演奏でしたら

例えば演奏会当日にベストの演奏ができるように

一生懸命練習をする

中世が800年から大体1400年くらいと言われています

The Middle Ages is said to have roughly spanned from 800 to about 1400.

世紀に直すと9世紀から15世紀くらい

それ以前をもうひっくるめて古代と言いますが
