Hello, at Yuru Reading Carpenter, I am reviewing the books I have read.

今日は前に今年の夏に読む本と挙げていた サイモンシンさんの宇宙創生を読み終わったので

Today, I've finished reading "The Cosmic Creation" by Simon Singh, which I mentioned I was going to read this summer.

早速レビューをしたいと思います

I would like to review it right away.

サイモンシンさんは前にもチンプソンズ 数学者たちの楽園という本を紹介していた時にも

Simon Shin had previously introduced a book called "The Simpsons: A Mathematician's Paradise."

フューチャーしていたんですけれども

I was looking forward to it.

ちょっとあまりにファンすぎて また今回宇宙創生の本を読んで

I'm just too much of a fan, so I'm reading the book on the creation of the universe again this time.

やっぱり面白かったので お話ししてみようと思います

I thought it was interesting, so I decided to talk about it.

ちなみに春先頃に暗号解読の本も

By the way, there will also be a book on cryptography around spring.

もう意気込みレベルで読んで ちょっとあまりの面白さに感動し

I read it with determination and was moved by just how incredibly interesting it was.

結構メインな登場人物になってくる アラン・チューリングさんが

Alan Turing will become quite a main character.

この度イギリスの新50本土札になったというニュースも

This news that new £50 banknotes have been issued in the UK.

今年の同じ春頃の時期にあったりして

このパンデミック後の最初の目標は

今日はですね 宇宙創生のレビューの方をしていこうと思います

まずですね 昨年ですね

私は日本で天の川を見たことが実はなくて

I have actually never seen the Milky Way in Japan.

初めて見たので

Because I saw it for the first time.

ちょっと感動をしたという思い出があります

I have a memory of feeling a little moved.

結構ちょっとそれをきっかけに

That could be a good opportunity to do so.

星というか星空に関することってあんまり知らないなと

I realize that I don't know much about stars or the night sky.

星座早見版とか小学校の頃とか思ってたけど

I used to think it was like a star chart or something from elementary school.

特に何も活用もすることなく

Without particularly utilizing anything.

過ごしてしまったなということを少し反省してですね

I've been reflecting a bit on how I've spent my time.

星のことを知ろうという目標のもと

With the goal of learning about the stars.

ちょっとその後

少し本を読んだりですとか

Like reading a book a little bit.

あとちょっとそういう星空分布のアプリみたいなものを

I’m looking for something like an app that shows the distribution of starry skies.

ダウンロードしてみたりして

Try downloading it or something.

勉強をちょっとしたような時期がありました

There was a time when I studied a little.

その中で非常に無知で恥ずかしい思い出ではあるんですが

It is a very ignorant and embarrassing memory among them, but...

一冊絵本にとてもいい絵本に出会いまして

I came across a very good picture book.

その絵本最後で紹介をしようと思うんですけれども

I was thinking of introducing that picture book at the end.

その絵本で知った衝撃事実として

One shocking fact I learned from that picture book is

まず天の川銀河ってどら焼きみたいな形をしていて

First of all, the Milky Way galaxy has a shape like a dorayaki.

光天面があるその中に太陽系はあるんですけれど

The solar system exists within that glowing surface.

なんと太陽系の光天軸と天の川銀河の光天軸って

The solar system's ecliptic axis and the Milky Way galaxy's ecliptic axis are surprisingly...

すごいずれてて60度ぐらい傾いていると

It's really off and tilted about 60 degrees.

なので天の川銀河が

So the Milky Way Galaxy is

横たわって空にかかるように見えるんだという

It is said to look like it is lying down and reaching up to the sky.

これって常識なのかもしれないですけど

This might be common knowledge, but...

ちょっと私からしたらかなりカルチャーショックで

To me, it's quite a culture shock.

確かに天の川銀河の光天軸と地球の光天軸の方が

Indeed, the galactic axis of the Milky Way and the celestial axis of the Earth are more...

太陽系の光天軸が同じ面だったら

If the axis of the solar system's celestial light were on the same plane.

今のように天の川銀河が見えないと言われたら

If it is said that the Milky Way galaxy cannot be seen as it is now

確かにそうなのかもしれないんですけれども

That may indeed be the case, but...

ちょっとその後に

そういうことがカルチャーショックすぎてですね

ちょっとあまりにも見えてるものの捉え方というものを

しっかり理解できてないということが

その絵本によりちょっと愕然としまして

よりいろいろな本を読んでみたり

少しずつちょっと自分の知識のアップデートというか

今日本日起こっているかのごとくのような
