I finally managed to find some time today, so I want to talk about something that happened a while ago.

でもラオスが多いんですね そうですね 今プロジェクトをしてる関係で

ラオス 年明けてからの

1月に1回行って

上海経由で雲南に行ったんですけど

I went to Yunnan via Shanghai.

上海は日本と同じような感じでちょっとまださむさが残る感じ

でも雲南の空港に降り立った瞬間むわーてした

But the moment I landed at the airport in Yunnan, it felt stuffy.

そこに近いところにあるので

雲南に行ったのも海の向こうコーヒーとしては

4年半ぶりとか5年ぶりぐらい

まだコロナ前のタイミングで行ってたんですね

1回訪問してて、それぶりに今回訪問したような形です

I found the first YunNan quite interesting, though.

想像があんまりつかなかったので

中国の産地で、なんかどんな感じなんだろうなって思いながら行って

I wonder what it's like at the production site in China as I go there.

そうさんっていう、私たちの海向こうの現地のパートナーの

Our local partner named Sou-san from across the sea.

カモメの天空農園っていう農園をされているそうさんという方に

It seems that there is a person named So-san who runs a farm called "Seagull Sky Farm."

ずっとこう雲南省の中の栽培エリアみたいな

It's like a cultivation area in Yunnan Province all the time.

毎日いろんなところに連れて行っていたので

I was taking him/her to various places every day.

あちこち、毎日移動してます

I'm moving around everywhere every day.

そうさんはいろんな農園を管理されてるみたいな感じなんですか?

Are you managing various farms?

自分の農園もいくつか持たれていて

You also own several farms.

それプラス、地域ごとにパートナーの農家さんがいらっしゃって

Additionally, there are partner farmers in each region.

共同で農園を作りをされているみたいな感じですね

It feels like you are creating a farm together.

そうなんですね

じゃあ各地に加工場みたいなものがあって

Well, there are processing plants in various locations.

7つか8つ、8層ぐらいで

自分の加工場プラスパートナーと結んで経営してる加工場もあって

連れて行ってもらいまして

なんか勝手に農地がすごく広そうなイメージを持ってたんですけど

最初に連れて行っていただいたところが

やっぱり空の曲があって

As expected, there is a song about the sky.

C3パンナ空港ってところにいたんですけど

I was at a place called C3 Panna Airport.

そこからちょっと何時間か

A few hours from there.

3時間ぐらい行ったところにある

It's about a three-hour trip.

Yi Wuっていう町

A town called Yi Wu.

正式な中国でいう行政区分としての町の名前じゃなくて

It's not the name of a town as an administrative division in formal China.

お茶のブランド産地の名前で

The name of the tea brand's production area.

その地域の人から

From the people of that area.

Yi Wuって呼ばれてるんですけど

I’m called Yi Wu.

そこでそうさんが新しく農園を作り始めたらしいんですよね

It seems that Sou has started a new farm.

で、その農園に連れて行っていただきました

And then I was taken to that farm.

めちゃくちゃ広かったです

It was incredibly spacious.

そこが土壌が劣化してしまっていて

あとコーヒーの木がもう30年とか40年とかに古くなってきてるっていうのもあって

Additionally, the coffee trees are getting old, around 30 to 40 years old.

新しい産地を探すっていうので

I'm looking for new production areas.

Yi Wuがいいんじゃないかなって想像してて

I was thinking that Yi Wu might be good.

なんか中国政府としてもコーヒー栽培って中国にとってはまだまだ新しい産業

Coffee cultivation is still a new industry for China, even for the Chinese government.

お茶の栽培の歴史は長いんですけど

The history of tea cultivation is long, you know.

コーヒーはなんかお茶に比べるとまだ新しい産業っていうので

Coffee is still considered a relatively new industry compared to tea.

なんか結構こう政府のサポートとかもあるみたい

It seems that there is quite a bit of support from the government as well.

土地を出してくれたりっていう

They offer to provide land.

政府としてもコーヒー頑張ろうみたいなのが

The government is also trying to do its best with coffee.

頑張っていきたいです

あとコーヒーと観光業みたいなのをうまくコミュニケーションさせて

Sou-san is from Taiwan, and being from Taiwan means that he is half Taiwanese and half Japanese.
