みなさんこんばんはお久しぶりです 和太鼓奏者の福士夏子と申します

Good evening everyone, it's been a while. My name is Natsuko Fukushi, a taiko performer.

2021年1月より配信を始めましたいろはに和太鼓ですけれども

"Irohani Wadaiko started streaming from January 2021."

昨年はなんとか月2回第2第4金曜日配信してまいりました

Last year, we managed to deliver twice a month on the second and fourth Fridays.

今年2022年どうしようかなぁと考えてたんですけれども

I was wondering what to do this year, 2022.

いろはに和太鼓

セカンドとリニューアルいたしまして

We are renewing and seconding.

月2回という回数にはこだわらずに

Not fixated on the frequency of twice a month.

思い立った時に気ままに配信していこうかなと思っております

I am thinking of streaming casually whenever I feel like it.

とは言いましても

That said,

まあね締め切りやノルマがないとずるずると伸ばし伸ばしになって

Well, if there are no deadlines or quotas, things tend to get postponed indefinitely.

まあいいかなぁみたいになってきてしまいますので

Well, it seems like I'm starting to think it's just fine.

月に1曲テーマを決めて曲を作るというのを

Choosing a theme and creating a song each month.

しましてそちらの紹介を兼ねて最低でも月1配信はしていこうかなと思っております

I’m thinking of doing at least one delivery per month to introduce that over there as well.

そしてさらにね1年間月1で12曲の新曲を作りまして

And furthermore, I will create 12 new songs over the course of a year, one each month.

今年の年末またあるいは来年の初めにですね

At the end of this year or at the beginning of next year, you know.

アルバムを1枚作ってみようかなと思っております

I'm thinking of trying to create an album.

今年はねこちらを目標に頑張っていきたいと思います

This year, I would like to work hard towards this goal.

いきますかね頑張ってみたいと思います

I wonder if I can do it. I'll do my best.

長引くコロナ禍でありますけれども

Although we are still in the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,

今では太鼓の練習場もストレスなく使えるようになりましたけれども

Now, I've been able to use the taiko practice space without any stress, but...

2020年初めて緊急事態宣言が出された時には

When the state of emergency was first declared in early 2020,

施設がですね全く使えなくなってしまいまして

The facility has completely become unusable.

おそらく3、4ヶ月の間だったと思うんですけれども

I think it was probably for about 3 to 4 months.

全く和太鼓が打てなくなってしまいました

I can no longer play the wadaiko at all.

打てないという状況になってしまいました

I have found myself in a situation where I can't hit.

そんな中で私の生活パターンも随分変化しまして

In the midst of that, my lifestyle has changed quite a bit.

今までは毎日のように太鼓の練習をしてきた時間が

The time spent practicing the drums almost every day until now.

笛の練習をたくさんするようになりましたね

You've started practicing the flute a lot, haven't you?

今までの練習の比率って

What is the ratio of the practice up to now?

8対2もしくは9対1ぐらいの割合で

In a ratio of about 8 to 2 or 9 to 1.

圧倒的に太鼓の練習量の方が多かったんですけれども

There was overwhelmingly more practice time for the taiko.

今ではおそらく逆転してしまってますね

It has probably reversed now.

和太鼓って家では練習できないじゃないですか

You can't practice wadaiko (Japanese drums) at home, can you?

会場の予約をして利用料を支払って

Make a reservation for the venue and pay the usage fee.

会場まで行って搬入してセッティングして練習をして

Go to the venue, unload, set up, and practice.

終わったらまたバラして搬出して帰るみたいなね

It seems like after it’s over, we’ll disassemble it again, carry it out, and then go home.

すごく手間がかかるんですよね

It's really time-consuming, isn't it?

それに比べて笛ってお手軽ですよね

In comparison, flutes are quite easy, aren't they?

幸い私は自宅で音が出せますので

Fortunately, I can make noise at home.

いつでも気が向いた時にパッと笛を手に取って練習ができるんですね

You can easily pick up the flute and practice whenever you feel like it.

疲れたらちょっと休憩を挟んでまた再開なんてこともね

If you're tired, you can take a little break and then start again.

気軽にできますよね

You can do it easily, right?

何より和太鼓のように搬入搬出みたいなね

More than anything, it's like loading and unloading, like a taiko drum.

重労働が全くないっていうのが

The fact that there is absolutely no heavy labor...

とても大事なことですよね

It's a very important thing, isn't it?

とても魅力ですね

It's very魅力 (charm).

ということで自宅にいる期間が長くなった頃から

So, it has been a long time since I started staying at home.

私は熱心に忍えの練習をするようになりました

I have come to practice ninja skills diligently.

そして2022年から

And from 2022 onwards.

なんとなんと古典の勉強も始めることにしました

I decided to start studying classical literature as well.

具体的にはね

Specifically, you see.

神楽太鼓のもとへお稽古しに行きまして

I went to practice at the kagura taiko.

神楽林、江戸林

Kagura Forest, Edo Forest

獅子舞などの古典曲を勉強していきます

I will study traditional songs like Shishi-mai (lion dance).

まだ始めたばっかりでね

I just barely started.

全然吹ける曲も少ないんですけれども

There are very few songs that I can play at all, though.

今まではね

Until now, you see.

あんまり興味がなかったんですけれども

I wasn't really that interested, but...

やってみるとすごく面白くて奥深くて

It's really interesting and deep when you try it out.

日本の伝統音楽のね

Japanese traditional music.

素晴らしさなんかをね

Things like greatness.

ひしひしと感じております

I am keenly feeling it.

さらにね

Furthermore, you know.

ずっとやってみたかったのは

What I've always wanted to try is

脳幹にもチャレンジすることにしました

I've decided to take on a challenge with the brainstem as well.

脳幹という笛はね

"The whistle called the brainstem."

能楽の時にね

During Noh theater, you know.

用いられる楽器なんですけれども

It's an instrument that is used.

神楽でも使用されるんですね

It is also used in Kagura, isn't it?

そして私のお師匠さんはね

And my master is, you know,

この脳幹が得意とのことで

It seems that this brainstem is something you're good at.

今後大変楽しみにしております

I am looking forward to it very much in the future.

ただ私はですね

Well, I...

まだまだ楽器を購入したばかりで

I just purchased the instrument recently.

まともにまだ吹けないので

I still can't play properly.

今はね

Right now.

感高い音

High-pitched sound

脳幹の特徴であります

It is a characteristic of the brainstem.

ひしぎの練習を日々やっております

I am practicing hishigi every day.

今後少しずつレパートリーを増やせたらいいなと思っております

I hope to gradually increase my repertoire in the future.

神楽を習い始めてから

Since I started learning Kagura

私は初めて古典調の忍笛を持ったんですけれども

This is the first time I have a traditional-style ninja flute.

皆さん忍笛には大きく分けて

Everyone, there are broadly two types of Shinobue (Japanese bamboo flutes).

2つの種類があるってご存知でしょうか

Did you know there are two types?

詳しく話すとね

If I go into detail...

長くなってしまいますので

It will take a long time, so...

簡単にご説明差し上げますけれども

I will give you a brief explanation.

忍笛には

On the shinobi flute.

歌用と林用という2種類が存在します

There are two types: one for singing and one for forest use.

歌用もしくはドレミ調と言われる笛は

The flute referred to as a song flute or do-re-mi flute.

西洋の七音階の音

The sounds of the Western seven-note scale.

つまりドレミファソラシの音程が出せるように

In other words, so that you can produce the pitches of do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, and si.

調律された笛になります

It will be a tuned flute.

こちらに対して

Regarding this.

林用もしくは古典調の笛というものは

Folk or classical-style flutes are what they are.

指穴の間隔も大きさも均一で

The spacing and size of the fingertip holes are uniform.

七音階の調律がされてない笛になっておりますね

The flute is not tuned to the seven-tone scale.

なのでドレミファソラシどうと吹くと

So when you play Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti,

少し音痴な音が出ますね

It makes a slightly off-key sound, doesn't it?

私はですね今まで忍笛といえば

Well, until now, when I think of the shino flute...

歌用の笛しか吹いたことがなかったんですけれども

I had only played the flute for singing.

神楽では林用の笛を使うんですね

In Kagura, they use a flute for the forest, huh?

吹き方は同じなので音は出せるんですけれども

The blowing technique is the same, so I can produce sound, but...

指使いが少し違ったりですとか

The finger movements are a bit different, for example.

古典ならではのよく使う音があったりします

There are sounds that are often used that are characteristic of classical music.

まだ始めたばかりで

I've only just started.

この林用の忍笛の魅力などなどね

The charm of this forest shinobue and so on.

まだまだ理解しきれてない部分多いんですけれども

There are still many parts that I don't fully understand yet.

2022 Year

1月の楽曲はせっかくなので

Since it's January, let's make the most of it.

この古典調の忍笛を使った楽曲を作ってみました

I tried creating a piece of music using this classical-style ninja flute.

タイトルは紅帽です

The title is "Red Hood."

漢字はですね光に草冠に無くなるって書いて帽ですね

The kanji is written with "light" over "grass" and means "hat."

あのずいぶんお堅いタイトルになってしまったんですけれども

Well, it ended up with quite a formal title, didn't it?

紅帽とは王を引く

The red hat pulls the king.

光の筋または一筋の光といった意味ですね

It means a beam of light or a single line of light.

10年以上も前だったと思うんですけれども

I think it was over 10 years ago.

福島県の五色沼に行った時に

When I went to Goshikinuma in Fukushima Prefecture.

空から沼に射す光がねものすごく素敵で

The light shining from the sky to the swamp is incredibly beautiful.

そのキラキラした光の筋だったり

It was those sparkling streaks of light.

神々しい感じのイメージを曲にしてみました

I tried to create a song with a divine feeling.
